The York Dungeon The York Dungeon takes you on a trip into the past to discover some of the darkest moments of European history. You can find out the true story of the world's most famous highwayman, Dick Turpin and be scared out of your wits by the Ghosts of York. Crazed Vikings called Bezerkers feature in the Gorvik area. There are Implements of Torture and a Labyrinth of the Lost Roman Legion. Discover what it was like to live in the 14th Century in the midst of the Black Death.

The York Dungeon is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.

The York Dungeon is located 10 minutes walk from York Station in Station Road. It is 5 minutes walk from Bus Station Rougier. Parking is available on St. George's Field and Castle Car Park.

Although I thought it was a bit pricey at £15.00 per head it was a great experience and one I would recommended. Although I wish I had known about the 50% discount if you buy your tickets on line. I don't think children under 14 years of age would enjoy and experience. Even I jumped out of my skin more than once.
