Edinburgh Castle
Product Rating
Perched dramatically on top of an ancient volcano, Edinburgh Castle dominates the skyline of Scotland's capital city. It is a popular tourist destination. Of particular interest are the Great Hall, The Honours of Scotland (Scotland's crown jewels), the siege gun Mons Meg, the Royal Palace, and the Stone of Destiny which was the coronation seat of ancient Scottish kings.
Edinburgh Castle is a short walk from Waverley Station. An express bus (Airlink 100) runs from the airport to Edinburgh city centre. There is no car parking at Edinburgh Castle. The nearest city parking zones are located at Castle Terrace and Johnston Terrace. Limited disabled parking is available at the Castle.

Reviewed by Steve on 19/06/2008 I've visited Edinburgh Castle twice. It's one of the UK's greatest castles. Not only is it very well preserved and large, but it is central to the history of Scotland and has so many interesting things to see. I particularly remember the audio visual display about the gun Mons Meg. It also has a fabulous location, perched on the top of a steep hill overlooking Edinburgh. This is obviously a must-see for all visitors to Edinburgh, and is one of the reasons why Edinburgh is such an interesting place to visit. Rating:
