Reviewed by Alfie on 17/06/2008 I only switched to Vodafone from Tmobile because of my girlfriend and getting cheaper calls. Howver, from the onset I have had nothing but problems with these imbeciles. I decided to take up an internet offer from Voda and they didn;t send out the speakers for the phone as promised in the offer or the correct memory card. Then it took the best part of 3weeks just to have my details on their database for when I called which sent alarm bells ringing. Then they charged me twice for one month and after numerous emails and phonecalls received a credit after 3 months. The customer service reps constantly lied about the actions they had taken, so that "OK sir i have credited the amount back to your account right now". When I rang back 10 mins later the other operator had no details of her computer of the previous conversation or any changes, this was not a one off. Another major ongoing problem is the call quality....i am constantly getting bad lines and cut off, and have tried with 3 different phones, Vodafone say the signal strength is excellent round my way so I feel sorry for people that only have good signal strength. Anyhow im am now in my 9th month of my 18 month contract with these morons...and honestly can not wait for my contract to end. Vodafone are one of the most expensive networks and what you get for your money is sub standard stuff. Rating:
Reviewed by Dave on 11/06/2008 Switched to vodafone 2 years ago. Very pleased with my previous provider 02 but sadly not such a terrific signal inside my house. Vodafone can be a little more expensive, but in terms of getting what you pay for; their customer support is very good you are connected pretty quickly and get to speak to switched on people from the U.K.I have just renewed my contract following their generous offer on improving their 18 month contract deal ( 02 initially had the upper hand with a contract for the same phone) I also like the talk free for up to 1 hour (5 quid a month) between three other vodafone users. Good for me as the rest of the family are on the same network. Rating:
Reviewed by Rachael on 04/06/2008 the only thingi find vodaphone good for is stop of clock thats is the best however 12p texts aren't 02 are better. Rating:
Reviewed by Pete on 03/06/2008 I like Vodafone, but wish they would do monthly or weekly internet bundles on pay as you talk like other networks do. £1 a day is a joke, so, sad to say im leaving along with 3 other people i know Rating:
Reviewed by ross on 02/06/2008 this is the best company for pay as you go! I have been with a few and I have to say 3 was the worst I have ever come across ! with vodafone if you actually spend 10 min of your life you can get the cheapest txt and phone calls overall ( 10p per txt to any network and 30p for an hour phone call to any network) the signal is great I can get a decent enough signal anywhere I go .. even in different countries! good call centres .. the people there are generally happy to help and know what they are talking about ( I lost all my credit one time and they refunded me by giving me 2 months of free txts) bad thing though is the whole message sending .. sometimes it doesnt go though and you have to send a second time but at 10p oh well and I mean this has happened to me very rarely! great company .. i love them Rating:
Reviewed by Amy on 27/05/2008 Well I've been an O2 customer as long as I can remember, then a pushy sailesman in Phones4u got me over to Vodafone with a phone I didnt even like. 17 months on all has been well, apart from the same gripe as everyone else, shady coverage, fine most places but absolute zero at my uni or in the lake district while on holiday. Also, when phoning up to check for upgrades, they tell me i have a £107 phone bill coming up. THis was news to me since i get 1000 free texts and 200 anytime minutes and have never once gone over this. But apparently ive sent 1600 texts in 21 days? There websites also crashed so I cant get into my itemisation, I did find something similar and I can count 1090 messages and 8 picture messages but they swear blind its 1636 texts and 4 pics messages. Absolutely raging about this since i work part time, they are sending out an itemised bill and I will hopefully get this mess sorted. Very disappointing. Rating:
Reviewed by Sarah on 21/05/2008 I always get a good signal but it is so dear to text! Vodafone is 29p for a text to another network! Most other services are about 10p or even 5p! I would not recommend vodafone to anybody even thought the signal is great! Rating:
Reviewed by A Blackpool Tram on 20/05/2008 Been with Vodafone for years now and never had any issues at all. They may sometimes seem a bit more expensive than other networks but I'm a great believer in "getting what you pay for". Good customer service and excellent signal strength. No billing issues either. What more could a mobile user need ? Rating:
Reviewed by mutleys music on 03/05/2008 Although the phone operators are friendly and English speaking they have "cut me off", given me wrong information ie new phone will be delivered on Monday- which turns out to be Wed!! and worst of all changed my contract details.OK...they told me in a letter but wanted me to change from 250 texts/125mins for 20£ per month to 50 texts/100mins at the same price. They sorted it in the end but it took an hour of my time to get it changed. You need to study carefully your bill. Mind you they did upgrade my phone and let me stay at my old tarrif so I got a U900 Samsung (soul) for 20£ per month rather than the 35£ most other companies want.I also get signals that my daughters 02 coverage just cant match. 3 stars.....just for cutting me off more than once and for having to input my mobile number into the automated answering machine ONLY to be asked the same once connected? Reviewed by John on 01/05/2008 Vodafone Ireland (formerly Eircell). Barey acceptable. I have been loyal to this service provider since I went mobile at least 9 years ago. I am seriously considering moving network! I am a traditional kind of guy and I like to remain loyal to people and companies BUT I am really feeling ripped off at the moment. If you don't sign up to a "special" you get screwed full stop. ABV! >:-/ Rating:
Reviewed by Happysofar on 01/05/2008 OK the good points first: 1) you always get to speak to a real human being w/o getting lost in an automated system or being on hold for 1hr (unlike some other networks).2) they're usually quite helpful & it's NOT some mumbai call centre worker reading from a script & saying "sorry ma'am" 100 times a minute.3) I'm on a good price plan, have been happy with it for 2yrs+now and they've rolled it on again w/o changing the monthly cost.4) they gave me a really good upgrade even though I'm considered a 'low user'.5) when I was dissatisfied with my upgrade handsets (changed from Nokia to SE) they replaced it 3 times with little fuss until I got one I was happy with... which after 3mths I accidentally dropped into cold cup of coffee.6) their insurance people accepted the claim w/o fuss & are in process of replacing with new latest model handset within 1 day of call, which I am really happy about.7)used it in NYC recently and had no problems whatsoever. Bad Points: 1)Worst gripe: often texts are 'sent' but 'pending' for ages. Once an important text was pending for over 12hrs. Then when you get fed up waiting and re-send, they both arrive at the same time. Is this their way of getting more money out of you? 2)Generally good coverage, except in my office tower which is appalling - despite there being a Vodafone store in the mall below! 3)the stores are rubbish, long queues & the muppet assistants give out misleading & incorrect info just to fob you off (must be bcos I'm a bit of fluff in a skirt so these 2nd hand car dealers think I can't go on the net and verify their tosh). Were actually quite patronising to me & made out that I wouldn't get anything decent when I went to upgrade bcos I'm a 'low user' - despite the fact I've been a loyal Vodafone customer for 3yrs+ and also have 2 mobiles on their network. Made me feel like 2nd class citizen. Moral: deal with Vodafone over the fone rather than go to a store. Rating:

Reviewed by Mason on 20/04/2008 Been on Vodafone quite a while now and i think its quite good. The signal isn't great at times but it can offer a great deal of things. Unlike other networks they do top up vouchers or you can ring up using a credit card. You can also get text packs which allows you to get more texts for your money (eg 70 texts for £5.00) which is 20 more texts than usual ! Reviewed by Graham on 03/04/2008 Been on every network more than once over the years but again Vodafone have outshone it's rivals in everyway, may not be the cheapest but that extra little bit of cash is worth the lack of frustration. Plenty of reception, London, Essex, Newcastle, Liverpool, Cardiff (even out in the Welsh Vallys) to name a few, networks in Spain etc so don't get killed for roaming, great customer service and 750 anytime minutes, unlimited txt's & free phone & wknd calls all for £30 per month you can't go wrong!! Rating:
Reviewed by Howie on 26/03/2008 The low rating reflects the poor network coverage in North & East London. Despite mobiles showing a good signal strength calls are dropped and the sound quality is abysmal. Using a borrowed 02 and a T-mobile PAYG card the problems disappeared. They may be the biggest but their quality has fallen over the last couple of years; it's no good getting a great package if half the time you cannot make calls. Oddly it doesn't seem to be a problem sending texts. We have just bought 2 new phones and the problem still persists and a colleague had his phone changed 3 times and then sim changed twice before his local Vodafone shop told him it was the network! We will be switching to Virgin sim only, I don't need 3G, 300 minutes and 300 texts for £10 a month sorted! Rating:

Reviewed by Sawyl on 25/03/2008 I've had phones on every major network, and of all of them Vodafone has been the most consistent and reliable by far. With others I've had connection problems, or delayed text messages (sometimes 24 hours or more), but I've never had these issues with Vodafone. 99.9% of the time, it just works. Coverage is slightly iffy in places (such as my living room), but there's very few places I can't get ANY signal. I can't comment on their deals as my contract is with a Vodafone reseller (dot mobile - student network), and I'm sure there are cheaper offers with other networks, but you get what you pay for. And some of their branches have fairly useless staff who don't know/care what they're talking about, but this seems to be the case with most high street shops these days. Overall, they're not perfect, but you can do a lot worse than choose Vodafone. Rating:

Reviewed by Duffy on 10/03/2008 Having been with Voda for the last 4 years I am about to switch to O2. Although customer services have offered me a very good renewal deal, my phone's network coverage has really deteriorated over the last 3-4 months - to the point where I have NONE whatsoever when in my office at work. Vodafone said it was due to an old sim card or a faulty phone - they sent new of both to me which hasn't solved the problem but continue to maintain their network coverage is best. For a lot Voda may be perfect and my coverage problem might just be the area I'm in but I can't justify signing up for another 18 months if I can't use my phone when at work. Rating:
Reviewed by Millsey on 08/03/2008 The coverage that Vodafone provide is amazing and i find it a rare occurance when i don't have any signal. The deals offered by vodafone are also very good, i currently spend around £40 a month and get unlimited minutes to landlines, unlimited texts and 500 cross network minutes - and this is provided in the form of the nokia N95 8gb. Fantastic handset i might add. The reason why i have only given it 4 stars is that the balance checker lags behind by 72 hours, this is quite annoying as you never know how much you have left on your contract. To sum up a good network but could improve... Rating:

Reviewed by Suzieb on 03/03/2008 Have been with Vodafone for ever but have just decided to go with T Mobile as my MDA is on their network. Sad to leave Voda as long standing customer but they were just not prepared to do me any deals that I couldn't get with T-Mobile (better in fact)despite my generous discounts. I feel quite saddened that they will lose both my and my daughter's business as she will go sim only this year due to her ever-changing taste in mobiles. Boo hoo Vodafone. When phoning for help or advice, the service people are exceptional and help you to the best of their ability! They never fob you off and deal with you very well. Text and call packs are reasonable, although not quite as good as others. However this is made up for the great Vodafone live service and network coverage. I have found other Networks such as O2 and Orange to be next to useless and noway offer as good network coverage and advantages to Vodafone. I laugh as other people struggle to find their supposed "provider". Also abroad, Vodafone works well whereever you are. Especially in Europe. Reviewed by yenrod on 01/01/2008 Ive been on VF since Xmas/Dec. 99. Good and bad. Ive had EVERY excuse know to mankind told to myself from a call-centre advisor. Ive worked in CC's and would never dare say stuff like they say. Reason I'm with vodafone: great no. and the network reliability. GOOD points: network, network and size of company BAD points: phone software (as xbabe82517 says) - the red and white graphics irritate after a while, size of company - ive nearly changed network to genie or as it was but I couldnt until 30days had passed ;(. The costs of VF are quite high and I know that when the EU capped the roaming charges they increased the charges in an in-direct manner for PAYG calling costs. I use the family service the £7 version and put arund 15 a month on fone and have -at the moment- a SAM' E250. To know I recall when VF was NOT charging for sms's in dec 99 and then they threw them to 12p when everyone else was is disgrace considering there wasnt much competition but now theis is and even then the other NW are bothered aboput their financial cut with callcharges sothe whole mobile industry is pretty much a rip-off ! Their was another time that if you emailed (mms'd) people instead of sms'ing them you'd run out of credit and could keep on MMS'ing...but that was found out esp. as even the advisors where telling you about it so it was inevitable. So the only reason Im with VF is for the network and the family offer, other than that nothing. Rating:

Reviewed by G on 24/12/2007 absoltuley terrible network. I have contracts with Vodafone, T Mobile and O2 so I am in a position to judge the quality of Vodafone compared to others. A store lost part of my phone after the third time of attempting to repair it unsuccessfully. They told me to call customer services who passed me around for about 6 weeks nd even told me to call a distrbutor who said he didnt know why Vodafone kept giving his number for this type of problems and that they only did it to get rid of irrate customers they did not want to deal with. Most people i spoke to had no commonsense whatsoever and would only offer a call back within 48 hours which never materialises. To rectify the problem of not having a phone for 6 wks they offered me a temporary handset for £25.....cheers, to which my response was no thanks! Problem finally fixed with phone after weeks of expensive phone calls to people around the country. Obviosuly by the 6th week I was getting slightly annoyed!!!! the store kept telling me to call customer services. The manager (supposed call centre manager) i spoke to eventually was the rudest person I had ever spokn to in my entire life. he said as the store were a different channel i had to complain to them, he then went on to accuse me of "changing my story" when I said that I was also annoyed about the way telesales had passed me around for weeks and told me that they ad followed procedure - some notes of the problem have conveniently gone 'missing'. He did not ask me what I was annoyed about but instead said that he had read the noted and this was all he needed to know. Clearly a jumped up bloke who took joy in forcibly telling me as if i was 4yrs old that he was "giving me a warning" because I was interuptting him. Once i stopped interrupting him - even though what he was saying was accusatory and wrong- he continued to "warn me that if i continued to talk he would terminate the cal...." In my entire life and professional life as a Customer Service and Marketing professional I have never known a company to continually pass you around, not solve problems, expect the customer to do the running for 6 weeks AND then expect you to be please about it and not be angry with them on the phone. There is no continuity between the call centres - the Hartlepool office said they didnt blame me for wanting to leave Voda but the Belfast office shouted at me and accused me of pretending that i had been pushed around so much "there is only evidence of this occuring once on my screen." This whole debacle cost me around £200 in line rental, phone calls, trips to the store, and time off work (one day I spoke to these infuriating people for 2hours). If you want a good customer service and dont want to be spoken to as if you are in the wrong and are a four year old, dont bother going to Vodafone. Rating:

If I was still on PAYG I would stick with Orange, least you get 300 Texts free if you top up with £10 and 15p per Hour to a selected other Orange member. I do get better signal in my house compaired to Orange, but other places I dont. Strange.... Rating:

Reviewed by Jonathan on 06/11/2007 I love them. The most important thing to me in a mobile phone is coverage. 99.9% of the time it is perfect. I hate phoning people and getting cut off because their coverage is so much worse. In my flat it is the only network you can get a signal - ok Orange beside the window! - and you pay for the best. At the end of your contract if you say you're changing and refuse their 1st offer they'll call you back and ask what you want. I've been with them almost 9yrs. Tried BT Cellnet, before they changed their name to O2, and Orange. Orange's customer service was the best but like Rockin Ron I have always had problems resolved to my satisfaction. If you want the cheapest calls and texts go elsewhere but if you want a quality package then pay an extra couple of quid. With the extra features eg stop the clock, it might even be cheaper. I'll never leave. Rating:
Reviewed by John on 05/11/2007 Signal is very good in most areas and customer service is excellent for most things. Problems: Very arrogant when there has been a problem that is their fault, e.g. have several times greatly overcharged me (on a £35 package I have been charged over £100 on more than one occassion) Very pricey. Mobile internet signal terrible. I work beside 2 others, all of us have mobile internet for laptops. I have Vodafone, they have 3 and T-Mobile. Mine is the most expensive and has a very poor performance compared to theirs. Rating:

He gets 1200 cross-network minutes, 1000 texts...for £60 a month! I get 1250 cross-network minutes, 750 texts...for £30 a month! Plus, they refuse to match any other deals on the market - they do not even make any attempt to look at your tariff, nor do they seem to reward loyalty. And also, his phone is full of Vidafone cr*p - all the shortcut keys are assigned to what Vodafone want and cannot be changed, and with some of the latest Sony Ericsson handsets which are flash-theme enabled (the menu icons change to look really cool) this has been disabled in Vodafone handsets! And he's lumbered with their rubbish icons! It annoys me so much, if we're paying - and paying ridiculous prices too - then we should at least be able to do what we want with the phone! I'm with o2, and shall never ever be leaving them. Rating:

Reviewed by Ron Jeremy on 26/10/2007 Been with vodafone for around 8 years, but they never seem to reward loyalty when upgrade. I am due to upgrade end of November, and spoke to customer 'services' last week as I thought I could upgrade now. I'd seen a tariff with O2(?) that was £20 a month 200 mins + 200 txts - when I asked if they could match that they simply refused. Said for 20£ a month they could offer 75 mins and no txts - what kind of comparison is that? At least make the effort to keep customers. Rating:
Reviewed by Ben on 24/10/2007 Misinformed by customer services on their call plans, and even though they admitted it was their fault they refused to refund charges I'd run up as a result of their mistake. Then to top it off, whilst the dispute rumbles on they cut me off, and refuse to restore service until I pay the horrific bills that aren't my fault anyway. Have jumped ship to T-Mobile, with much better packages and data plans. I'll see Vodafone in court... Rating:

Reviewed by Rockin' Ron on 13/10/2007 I've often thought that the world would be a much simpler and more efficient place if we didn't all have so many choices nowadays. Have you ever tried ordering an ordinary cup of coffee lately? The same goes for mobile phone networks. It's bad enough having to decide between hundreds of different handsets without also having to choose which network to use. I've been with Vodafone since the mid 90's and can honestly say I've never had any problem which hasn't been resolved to my complete satisfaction and I'm at a complete loss to understand the comments of Sarah H and HR. It may be worth remembering that people can sometimes respond in a like manner to complaints from irritating customers! I use my phone abroad a lot and their Vodafone Passport is superb, as is their Vodafone Family package. In short, the best mobile phone network in the world by miles! Rating:
