Been with O2 since 2003 and although I'd be more than willing to stay, their retentions are shocking and apparently being a customer for several years means nothing! I am switching...

I have been with 02 for 6 months, only switching because they have a better signal coverage in my area (i live near the sea). Oh yes, they ARE "better connected" - due to inheriting from BT (once a nationalised industry - whoops, I mean a publicly-funded service - so we all owned it !!!). Therefore, one would expect better coverage. However, there customer service does not always match up to what one would expect from a "brand" leader. I believe that what they need to bear in mind is that an organisation is as good as - not only its technology - but also its people. Therefore, the issue of human resources and staff training need to be addressed - for the sake of the customer !!!!

Having been stuck with 3 and their unreliable network, I opted to change to o2 and get a £10 a month simplicity deal, 300 minutes, endless texts. The way to go is to buy a sim free phone, which are more reliable, you can still get the internet and sms settings later via text, and then choose a sim only deal which works out a lot cheaper, and less committment. o2 signal strength is superb and customer services have not been painful to deal with. Not moving from them

Kept it simple, kept it thourough. Very pleasant staff, nothing to argue about at the moment. Just moved from another network and all went smooth. Lot better customer service than my last network who were appaulling.

I have been with o2 for many years,my contract was due for renewal beginning of feb,i contacted them end of January,the package i had(which i was very happy with),was nolonger available apparently,despite my friend renewing onto it 2wks before,they are just not interested in keeping their loyal customers,(we have 3 phones with o2),and will be moving to another network as they all come up for renewal.Beware also at end of your contract if you dont renew,you have to give them 30 days notice,or any discounts on your plan need to be paid..ie,if you have a £45 plan and got it for £35 as a special promotion at the time,you would pay £45 until termination of your contract.Customer services were quite cheeky when they cant retain you.

Staff at 02 customer services and in 02 shops are always very friendly and helpful. I have always been with 02 but I may sadly have to change as my signal quality is very poor and I have changes phones 3 times and tried 2 new sim cards. I'm not using my minutes as no one can hear me for very long. Apparently my reception should be excellent.

Have been with them for years, as soon as my contract ends I will change. Customer service something they do when they are trying to get you to renew your contract. They call and call, but if you have a problem they are not interested. If your phone works great, if not give in an buy another one, its quicker and cheaper than trying to get O2 to do anything about it.

Just left o2 pay&go previously on a BT cellnet contract many moons ago. Never had cause to jump ship until I needed a contract sim only to use all the services on my new Nokia N97. Started gradually with Simplicity £10 tried to upgrade to £15. Had to check on-line & ring o2 on daily basis as several promised activation dates were delayed, system down etc. For one day only I was on my requested £15 tariff. Then without my authority it changed to £20. I canceled this Direct Debit. NOW back to £10 on a VIRGIN sim 200min unlimited txt

im happy enough with o2 but bebo should be free as it is 99c a day , this is a rip off as every other newtork provider has bebo free on phones , it is pure greed in my opinion , alot of my friends only joined o2 because of free bebo and now alot of them will diconnect and join 3 as they have free bebo and free msn messenger .

o2 are rubbish!!!! as long as your phone is working great but beware if it doesn t ... i have been a customer for over 5 years but the last 6 month have been hell . I rather peel my own skin off than use o2 again. it all started when my handset stopped working i had send it 4 times to get fix, every time the phone would work for a few week and then broke again , once they even ask me to pay 30 pound for the repairs !!! the last time they send the phone back without even fixing it ! so when i call to cancel they persuade me to give them one more chance so i thought ok why not they use to be good so you never know . I was offered a 15 pounds a month contract for 100 min and unlimited txt and a nokia 6303 with a speaker . the phone was delevired to the wrong address first time and th second time dhl (which are even worse than o2) say my address doesn t exist!!! Worse still to come when i check my account the 100 minute turn to be 75min and the unlimited txt turn into 250 txt all apparantly because of a misunderstanding . people do not use o2 they are very poor when things go wrong

I travel extensively and have been unable to find an area in the UK where my O2 phone has signal problems. So there is no choice for me, it has to be O2 for reliability. (I dont work for them honest)

i think o2 are the only network i'm actually content with. i've been on 3, poor signal, t-mobile, poor signal, orange, even worse! the only place i've never got a signal is at a friends house on a notorious signal black spot! been with o2 now for about 4 years or so? started on PAYG, then got a contract a few years back and haven't looked back. customer service is brilliant, managed to wangle them replacing my phone when i broke it, but 2 months down the line! and that i managed to get swapped from unlimited 02 to 02 to unlimited anyone texts for nothing extra!

only had a problem with them the last few days..i changed my and after a day realised i cudnt open mms(i was gonna change fone but didnt so changed tarif to save time) to a long story called to change back and they said i would take effect midnight,i actually told followin midnight and was given wrong bolt on now have tn wait for next bill date for my original plan so ill be watchin em

02 Pay as you go. I have found it to be a good all round network. A fair price for texts and calls. Would recommend them.

o2 were good but recently i have been having a problem that the calls are not reliable... every time i call, it keeps saying netowrk busy, and when someone trys to call me it keeps going to voicemail... great christmas and news years it was for me!!! Hopefully they will fix the issue, which has been going on for a month...

Truely Brilliant Network. I have never lost connection in the UK, France, Belgium or Spain - and I think it is simply the best of the networks. Been with them since I bought my first phone and I would never change. Absolutly Fantastic.

I have always been O2 and never want to change. I just got a new phone for christmas and I didn't want it on any other network apart from O2 as they are quick fast and have the best deals ever!

02 is a fantastic network. I'm paying £10 a month for unlimited texts. That's pretty damn good. I've had no problems with reception or anything. If you're looking for a good, solid network, 02 is the best.

The best deals the best phones and best of all peace of mind with the best customer service of any company i have dealt with. You seriously have to be an idiot to want to go with the competitors especially 3. Thats why I have happily upgraded year after year for 6 years my texts are unlimited with 1500 mins a blackberry all for 27 quid only 7 more than i was paying 6 years ago. Can't beat them!

02 is a good network, very fast internet and nearly always lots of signal. they have brill tarrifs for new customers aswell.

Lately my company has moved from Vodafone to O2, worst move ever. I am based in Scotland but travel to the North West and North East of England a lot. Driving down the M74, M6 and the M1 I constantly lose signal and have to either call back immediately or wait to I get a signal. Don't worry its hands free don't even have to toake my hands off the steering wheel. I have also been given my 3rd phone in a year still with the same results. I unfortunately now would go back to Voda as their coverage on the main UK tributaries are far better. The gentleman below, Cameron, I would love to know which phones he has been using or is he an employee of O2

O2 customer services are rude and obnoxious people that don't make life easy. I wanted to increase my tariff for a short time and asked how long the minimum increase would he and the guy told me it was one bill cycle which is one month. He said that I could reduce it back down from this point and it would take effect from the next roll over... So I agreed! 2 months later when I called to say I wanted to go back to the lower plan I was told that I had to keep it for a minimum of 9 months!! I told him that I'd been given misleading info and I wanted it traced back because I would be paying for someone elses incompetence. He basically replied with you should know the terms and conditions you signed upto and I can't trace the guy because he hasn't left his electronic stamp on here like he is supposed to have... No helpful!!! They should atleast try to help by looking into the audit trail, and advice from customer services should be just mirror the T&Cs rather than catch you out. I'm really frustrated and can't wait to leave this stupid company and it's idiot workers that don't realise that they are actually an insignificant cog...

Outstanding Network Provider. I have been using the O2-UK network for the last 13 years, never once in the whole of the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium and Spain have I lost signal. Very flexible deals - currently using the Simplicity Sim-Only Tariff. Excellent Customer Service - Kind, Polite, Willing to Please the customer; not only do the SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY, but they seem like they acctually want to be there - they listen and stive to provide the best service. Overseas Calling&Texting - because of there connection with spanish telecoms giant, Telefonica, they are able to provide one of the best service coverages in Europe and indeed the world. I have travelled most of Western Europe and have never been fobbed-off with dodgy 'overseas/passport' services like Vodafone do. They may be slightly pricey-er than other networks but what you lose 'in-pocket' is made up for ten-fold in excellent customer service, outstanding coverage and a brilliant network. If you want quality, move to O2.

i was first with vodafone- alrite until it refised to sends txts- they tooks on average 3 hours to arrive then with orange, didnt have great reception especially as i live in the country, but it was alright nxt was 3, reception was random, picked up reception better if i turned the phone on anf off every night, about the same coverage as orange now on 02, great coverage, tho the phone randomly turns itself on and off at night? no idea why, great deals and i like the top up surprises wth payg- contracts r a bit expensive but worth the reception

Previously been pleased with o2, been a customer for years, but... For the last 6mths, O2 have been having massive capacity issues in Central London (where I work): Despite always having a good signal, it takes 10-20 attempts to make a call, and nearly all calls received go straight to voicemail without ringing. All the o2 users in my office have the same problem - when trying to make a call you always get "network busy" (despite full signal strength). Those on other networks have no problems. O2 say there's nothing they can do - there's just too many users, presumably because of the success of the iPhone. O2 cust service said they don't guarantee that you can actually use your phone everywhere - although I would've thought that the middle of London would be covered fully! Avoid O2 if you want to use your phone in London.

Previously with Voda for over 10 years till they provided me with apalling customer service back in June. Moved to o2 and found the service, reception and website to be great my only negative is their prices for phone contracts compared to Vodafone for a Blackberry, fortunately lm on 1 month Simplicity contract so might have to eat humble pie and go back!?

I have been with Vodafone (great as long as you don't want an upgrade or staff that know what they are talking about). T-Mobile (ok but customer service can sometimes be questionable). Orange (great as long as you don't mind poor reception in alot of areas). And now I have been with o2 for the past 5 months and Im sure glad I switched. Very helpful and knoledgable customer service. They are a very customer focussed company and at least try to keep their customers when upgrading. I got a great deal with both mobile and broadband with them. I previously thought all mobile companies were the same until I came to o2. Keep up the great work. One very happy customer. A+++

Was with 02 for 5 years. Did not want an iphone as there over priced. Got a great deal from Vodafone for the phone i wanted. O2 used to bend over backwards to keep people. Not interested any more. Oh well with Vodafone now for 2 years. There loss. I never missed on payment in 5 years! In a nutshell. Unless you want a iPhone then there are not enough new handsets. Also there iPhone pricing plan is ridiculous. Quote me £65 a month for a iPhone and £87 outright for the phone. Vodafone is £40 a month unlimited Internet msgs and landlines. HTC touch pro 2. With the phone insured! See ya O2.

I cant knock them, never had any issues, when i have they have been resolved asap. Signal strength is more to do with my location than the network. I have been with o2 for 6 years now, they have always bent over backwards to keep me, so I do feel like a valued customer, something rare these days

Right up until very recently, I would always have given O2 a 5 star outstanding rating. Shame they annoyed me. Hvaing been with them for 8 years, I rang up to discuss upgrading at the end of my last contract with them. I discovered that they now carry a very limited range of current handsets - absolutely nothing I wanted to upgrade to. They also weren't interested in keeping my custom when I told I'd seen much better value tariffs on other networks, instead repeatedly trying to sell me an iPhone tariff. Fair enough, I'd have considered the iPhone, but I need unlimited texts and, bizarrely, they don't offer this on iPhone tariffs. The most they could offer me was 500 texts and I'd have had to pay £7.50 a month to bump this up to 1000 - which would still be inadequate. I then went down the Samsung Galaxy (their only android handset) option and found the tariffs to be grossly overpriced and poor value compared to Orange and T-Mobile tariffs for the - far superior - HTC Hero. Sorry O2, you lost me.

ive been on afew providers first vodaphone trouble to get signal anywhere im not going back to them next orange these were the same as vodaphone i could get signal in one part of my house the roof or outside it was shocking the rest of my family moved on to o2 so i followed suit and went on it havent looked back been on them for around 4years now they're good but i would advise you not to get a contract with them they're stupidly high priced. their top-up surprises are really good. their bolt ons are good ive got a web and wi-fi one. their customer seivice is brill orange kept me waiting for 11 hours once and vodaphone i couldnt ring because i had no signal.

I moved to O2 after Orange switched a cell phone mast off near my house and refused to consider compensation for loss of service! Until then I'd been an Orange customer for years but now having had 3 years on O2 I have to say that it was probably a blessing in disguise. O2 network performance is great, customer service very helpful and I'm quite happy with the bolt ons to go with my Iphone tariff. All in all, highly recommended.

I have had a lot of problems with o2 with signal and mass downtime, they keep saying it is maintenance on the areas but i cant believe they can do work 3 times in one month, this has been going on now for 6 months, but when it works they are great

i have been with 02 for 7 years now and can say that i have not regretted it for a moment, (im pay as you go)as long as i put £10 in every 3 months i get 02 for £7.75 a month megga deal,(thats internet)i put a £10 in a month anyway because i get 300 free texts. o2 is the best for (mobile) and (internet connection) by far, i would never go to (orange) or (vodaphone) for anything they have got to be the worst, going by what i read about them.... 02 sooooooooooooo good.

Very good. Excellent deals, and now I save a bomb on home broadband for being a customer too. Decent internet bolt ons. The only downside is sometimes the network is busy and that means it drops calls and tells you one has a voicemail. Hasn't done it recently mind. It's not my phone cos i replaced it and same problem occured. 3G reception is also not great but that appears to be a problem with all networks.

The trick to getting a good upgrade with O2 after being a loyal customer is to press the button online 'are you thinking of leaving O2'. You'll find they'll bend over backwards to keep you, even if you weren't meaning to leave at all! My friend does this every year and it works like a dream!

After reading all the Vodaphone and Orange horror stories I am so glad I'M with O2! Excellent calls package in the form of Simplicity, excellent coverage here in Wales and excellent customer service.

O2 online customer services couldn't be more helpful. They bend over backwards for you. However my experience with the o2 shops has been pretty patchy. They're tecnical staff range from inept to advanced. Despite this, it is an excellent service provider with great call coverage.

Can't fault o2 and it is such a relief to speak to a UK call centre. I'm on the Simplicity tariff and have opted for the web bolt on as I won't use up to 600 mins with free 02 to 02 cals included. As it is so expensive to use the net I decided the web bolt on was the best deal for me. I'm a contract-o-phobe and won't sign up for 12/18/24 months with the same handset, so the simplicity works for me. One gripe, the staff at the o2 shops and online need extensive training, as in all things in life, you get the expert who figures out your problem quickly and those dullards who give you wrong/inaccurate advice. As you can tell I've been on the receiving end of this breadth of knowledge! O2 Coverage is second to none which is why I moved from Virgin. Couldn't even get a signal in my house! All in all it's the best network to go for!

02 is the best network going! and they have UK support i am using their BroadBand too and it is excellent Left Orange and AOL and BT because of the Indian "May i call you David" TOTALLY USELESS Tech support. I would love an IPhone 3GS but the price is just silly and then having to put ITunes on my PC would drive me potty as well

RECENTLY JUST CHANGED TO T-MOBILE AND MUST SAY SIGNAL, PRICE OF PLAN AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICES STAFF ARE JUST AMAZING. PHONED UP A FEW TIMES TO PORT MY NUMBER OVER TO THEM AND FOR CONFIMATION ON WHAT I WAS PAYING AND EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN ASKED HOW MY DAY WAS GOING WHICH IS ALWAYS NICE IF EVERYTHING WAS OK? AND OFFERED CALL BACKS TO SEE HOW MY PLAN WAS GOPING AFTER THE FIRST MONTH TO SEE IF I WAS GOING TO NEED ANY MORE CALLS TEXTS OR BUNDLES ADDED TO KEEP MY BILLS AT A SET RATE, I WAS SO SURPRISED THEY ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME OUT TO SPEAK TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. 02 HAVE NOTHING ON THEM. I have been on 02 for years :) never had a problem. I have been on Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and Virgin before and 02 beats them all! :) The signal is always great for me even when I go to Wales... in the past other phone companies have been rubbish there! I have the 02 genie, I pay £10 a month and get 300 free texts. I then have 02 friends which is £5... I have 10 mates on 02 and get 1000 mins and txts to use on them :) So I end up paying £10 a month and thats me sorted. The only thing that disapoints me is the internet on the phone. You only get 1mb a month free whereas on orange you can go on facebook etc... free. I wish they did a better bolt on for the internet thats all :) Would recommend to anyone!

i think O2 are good but the only downfall is that when you are buying a phone from O2 they are so expesive, and then when you compare them together you see that O2 are the most expensive and also when you are topping up your phone you can't top up like £5 you have to top up £10 and up and i feel it should be five pounds and up because like if you dont really call or text people that much then you can put five pounds and that will be fine, but if you put ten pounds on your not really ging to use it that much and thats gonna be a waste of money.

The only issue I'm considering is network coverage; O2's tariffs etc seem fine to me. The reason I left Vodafone earlier this year was because of the poor coverage, not only where I live (West London) but in various other places I've been. It's actually quite embarrassing to sit there with a phone showing no signal while your friends are chatting away on their phone. And each time I asked them which network they were on, they said the same thing - O2. So when the iPhone 3GS came out, the decision to get one was made easier by the fact it's only on O2. Once I was up and running I found what I expected; much better coverage.

good customer service, uk based call centres is a bonus. Their tariffs are good value, what could be better is their internet. only 250mb allowance for £7.50 p/m? other networks give you 1GB for £5 per month. Their network infastructure needs to be updated to meet the growing demands of data on its network, but overall quite like o2

02 is the best network going! i'm on 02 unlimited - for 15 quid a month i can call or text all of my mates who are on 02 for free and use the 15 quid for people who are not on 02. you get so much for your money an reception is great. =)

I've been on 02 for ages, i did have Vodaphone but i decided to change since i got a new phone. Now, 02 has been much better than Vodaphone, i'd reccomend 02 to anyone.

I've been with O2 for nearly 20 years, from the time it was called cellnet. When it's time for upgrade no special line discount is given at all for loyal customer who has been with the for 20 years and paying £70 a month line rental. Recently without my authorisation they change my tariff to an iphone tariff without a phone, and getting billed for two contracts of £70 each. Time has come to switch network. Orange offered there top tariff for £40 on a 18 months special offer contract comes fully loaded. If it was not for the Apple iphone, O2 is nothing. Even with iphone the network fails everytime as they cannot control the calls (I know as I have experienced very well with my HTC Touch Diamond 2). They claim to have good network coverage, thats a lie, they pay other network such as Orange and 3 and Vodafone roaming charge for the 3g network in Scotland and Wales. Thats why their tariffs are so high and they don't give discount, because they have to pay Orange and 3 and Vodafone. If they didn't they will go bankrupt like it did when they were cellnet, until Telefonica brought them out and remaned it O2. Even people today with Apple iphone on O2 network are struggling due to call charges and network congestion.

Been with O2 for a few months now have found them a breath of fresh air compared to Vodafone who l have just finished with due to naff service over several attempted upgrade attempts (problems with their systems apparently so l told em where to go. Voda seem to offer slightly better packages however l'd rather do without the hassle so moved over. Customer service has been superb, no probs with change over and even retained my old number. Also moved my broadband over from Orange to O2 cos they doubled the package price. I guess time will tell!

I have been on O2 for about three or four years now on PAYG and I can honestly say I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Well, apart from the time I had to get my PUK code and the problems I had trying to get the LG KF700 (I got the cookie in the end) I can say that O2 are a reliable, simple, easy and friendly service. I would reccomend O2 above ANY other service provider to anyone.

Having been with 02 for the last 18 months, it's time to move on. The data charges are legalised extorsion, £3 per MB! Bought the web bolt on to cure this, the realised to my disgust that I was still being charged for internet usage. They then denied all knowledge, promptly changed the usage on my account then offered me half of the data charges as a 'goodwill gesture'. Then come renewal they had no information on what phones were going to be out soon, unless it was an iphone. Needless to say, I got my PAC code and joined Vodafone, who actually have some product knowledge and customer service skills.

I've got to second Bob's and Duncan's comments. I was been with O2 for four and a half years, on PAYG and contract. I have just ended my contract with them as I didn't feel the upgrade deals they were offering me anything were competitive. I was getting 200 minutes and 400 texts for £15 a month. With the end of my contract looming I phoned customer services to find out what was on offer and was told that they would be hoiking my tariff up to £25 per month! (I should clarify, the tariff I was on was originally £25 per month but O2 agreed to knock £10 per month off when I threatened to leave the last time my contract came up for renewal.) I did mention to the rep that Vodafone were offering 100 minutes and 500 texts with a new handset on a £10/ month tariff, but he simply wasn't interested. I was told bluntly that they weren't authorised to offer reductions on tariffs below £35 a month. All they were prepared to offer me this time round was a SIM-only deal. Above all they seemed determined not to offer me a new handset, as all their suggested offers were prefaced with the statement "If you're happy with your handset . . ." Presumably O2 must have decided that since I didn't spend much with them I was a low priority customer. I eventually accepted a SIM-only deal for £10 a month, but afterwards decided I was letting them off the hook too easily. When I phoned to end my deal with O2, suddenly they started offering me concessions. Their lowest contract tariff was currently £15 a month, but in view of my position as a previous customer they offered me £150 in credit which could go either towards the cost of a new handset or be discounted from my monthly payments, in effect rendering the first ten months of the contract free. This is an excellent deal which I would gladly have accepted if I hadn't already signed on with Vodafone!! So I'm feeling a bit annoyed with O2. I have always been perfectly happy with them, unlike other people I've never found any problems getting reception, and the customer service was always good. If they had offered me a competitive deal in time I would have been perfectly happy to stay with them. Anyway, I'm now on a fantabulous £10/month contract tariff with Vodafone. It's a bit long - 24 months - but that isn't a problem if they give value for money. I am feeling a bit disconcerted after having read the customer reviews on here, and glimpsing the sheer numbers of complaints about poor signal, poor customer service and billing irregularities. Only time will tell if I have any problems with this network, but you may bet that if I do I will post the details of them here!

I can probably top all this! I've been with O2 for about 4 years and upgraded my package ;ast year to £35 a month with a Nokia N958GB. The O2 shop rep said it was the best mobile unit on the market - I did ask him why he didn't have one! He was rather cocky (I'm being polite). Last June I used my phone to access the internet although I was not advised about bolt ons and had opnly been told that internet use could be expensive - no figures given. At that point I received a text from O2 to advise that it had cost £30! I assumed (stupidly) that this was due to the fact that I was abroad. I don't ahave a apc at home currently and found myself either accidentally pressin the internet button on the phone or deliberately accessing websites. I didn't receive any texts and had been locked out of the O2 service on-line so couldn't check my bill. However, after getting a letter from my bank manager to advise that I was hugely overdrawn due to an O2 bill (£1200 for one month) I contacted O2. They were not particularly interested and asked if i wanted an bolt-on! I know that you will all say 'silly girl, you should have realised' but I didn't. I did ask why it cost me £1200 for what could have cost me £7.50 but they could n't really tell me! Please let people know that this is happening. It has also happened to a couple of friends who have ended up with huge bills through mis-information from o2. I can afford to foot this sort of waste of money but many people can't.

Time to up-grade my phone. So I phone 02 and find, as a couple of other reviewers have, that they are not interested as i am paying less than £20 a month for my contract phone! They had one stone-age phone to down-grade too! Then the bullying/ strong sales talk starts about the £25 tariff and phones. I never spend more than £20 so why should i get a £25 tariff? Vodafone, Orange, Virgin are all cheaper. And I cannot think how their customers services could be worse. Bye-bye 02. I have been with them for 5 years and they have shown no customer loyalty what so ever. Seems to me that if you are not after an iphone or an expensive contract they don't want you.

Basically I have been with 02 for nearly a decade, yet every passing year they have continually got worse in terms of customer service and network issues. Techincally, 02 are outstanding, their signal strength, internet and and phones are very good. But the counter balance is poor customer service, several unexplained network glitches and stealth charges. Have cancelled one line with them because of their unwillingness to listen to their customers.

I was reading the review by Tony on 12/05/2009. I feel for you. I am in the process upgrading and O2 have treated me pretty poor. I been with O2 for 5-4 years now on 12 month contracts for £20. Last year let me have a Samsung tocco saying that cause I was such a good long time customer I got more freedom on the phone choice. I found hte tocco great and I had planned to get the simplictiy this year. My Tocco was nicked and O2 told me when I get into the last month I could just get a new one or a better phone because I have been a long time customer. So the day comes I was told I would have to move to an 18 month contract for £25 at least. I told them "no Show" simply because I never went over the £20 limit. I don't want sound cheap but I see no point in paying more money if I never maxed out this one. I told the Sales person I was just interested in getting a new handset and explained to them what I was told only a couple of weeks beforehand. They were more interested in bullying me onto the £25/18 month contract and said if it was just a hand set I could pick from the following 3 phones which were small naff things. They suggested a special deal of the free Samsung Pixon handset in exchange I go for a £25 contract but then tried to egt me pay out £100 for the phone. I pointed out that Orange offered a better deal more text and minutes, £20 a month it was for 24month contract but it got have a Tocco again which I had planned to keep anyway. O2's response was "What you going to do about it". Last year they treated me as a saint for been a long time customer and now they don't seem to care at all and are trying to Con me into a deal. I may be heading off to Orange now.

Not a good network, They charge you for everything!! They even charge you to ring customer services, who are a complete waste of time. They talk like robots and offer no help at all!! Also the cost of internet browsing is ridiculous- £3.00 per MB- WHY when its £1 for up to 15MB on Vodafone. O2 are expensive and have poor customer service.

Moved from 3, what a big difference. Full signal always. I'm on a sim only plan and it's the best choice. Best thing is to get your own sim free phone and not get tied to any network on a long term basis. I'm more than pleased with the coverage. Custuomer service are fine, depends who you get. Good call plans and cheaper texts with International Traveller Service. I'm staying.

As poor as the rating system here as it only has 1 negative rating. This is NOT therefore negative enough. The main problem is the dodgy signal as it keeps droping out. If I lived in a remote location like the Gobi dessert I would understand but I don't. I live, work and visit (sub)urban Britain on the mainland, so What gives O2???

Really good network, Whilst on Outings with other people, they have had trouble with signal loss etc on all other networks, while O2 has still ben there, I live in a small coastal town, and get excellent 3.5G coverage on both my phone and mobile broadband when others can just about manage on basic 2G coverage. Been on PAYG for 3 years which can have free calltime, texts, and other bonuses, now gone to contract to get a phone I wanted, excellent deal and already given extra options which I may take at any time, when I recieved a courtesy call call to check everything OK after first week on the contract. Call was courteous and polite and not pushy, I asked what extras I could have and was pleased with the options. Take away the cost of the phone and cost is £5 a month, excellent value.

Moving from orange to o2 was a bit of a mistake, ok the signal can be better on o2 sometimes, but the call quality is rubbish its half the bitrate of oranges call quality ? also if you live in a big town like me, sometimes you cant call people and people cant call you! due to the fact that theres too many people using o2 at the same time in my area i talked to customer service about this and they told me it was network conjestion or something? lol i guess you get what you pay for o2 might be slightly cheaper but the network performance is rubbish

I really rate O2. I was with Virgin before and the difference is unbelievable. I have O2 mobile, very good deal pay monthly sim @ £19.40ish. I get great reception everywhere 650 any time minutes 1200 texts and best of all 3g broadband via my Nokia 6500 O2 mobile which connects to my Samsung NC10 at broadband speeds virtually every where all included in my £19.40. Yes I really like O2 plus as a O2 customer I get my home broad band for £7.50 per month! Its 4 times faster than my old virgin plus its £10 per month cheaper. O2 customer services are very professional. You also keep getting these treats when they give you stuff, its good. The internet services have always performed well in last 2 years. I have been with O2 mobile on and off for nearly 15 years when they were called One 2 One but had some pretty cutting edge ideas back then with pricing. Also cool hand sets, I had a nice Motorola M301 Flip Phone.

The one good thing abut this network is the fact that one can use the message allowance to send picture messages and also to send messages from abroad. That is great, the customer service experience is good too. the coverage is fantastic although I work for an other network I would not change my 02 that easily

Hi, Would like to just say that O2 are very poor when it comes to customer relations. They wanted to get me off of my 12 month contract and so their tactic was to be rude , hang up when i wouldn't budge from my rights and then changed my contract tariff without notification, and even refused to give me an up to date handset when i agreed to change my deal with them !!! It was a fantastic tariff to be fair but they were rude at the end of the day and unforgivable as far as i was concerned and off i went to ORANGE !!! O2 can go whistle now for good !

Ive been an o2 prepay customer for over 5years. As my other half is disabled they will do 'door stop swaps' if we need to have a mobile repaired or when we upgrade!! This has been a very large factor in us staying with them, their customer care is second to none in our opinion!! We also recieve amazing coverage, many friends are on various other networks & we always have a signal when they dont. We get offered better deals in some cases, at upgrade times as 'valued costomers' so get many any time any network minutes & texts included in our contracts. This, it seems, is unusual for upgrades!! They offer all the latest handsets & are extremely helpful during calls. We use o2 online as this offers better deals than many shops. Enjoy.x

I like o2 a lot! On my old phone i was with vodafone and i was surfing the internet all the time, but i didn't notice any changes in my creditafter surfing.then when i changed o o2 i immeadiately noticed this difference. after looking up the charges, i found that vodafone cost under £1 for up to 25mbs a day, but o2 cost £3 per mb. So if you like surfing the internet ,don't get o2. But the reason that i have rated this network so high, is one of it's deals i am on, called "text unlimited". On this priceplan if you top up £10 in month you automatically get 300 free texts plus the credit! As i text a lot, this is great because my conversations aren't costing me a penny! This also goes up the more you top up.£15=500 texts and £25+unlimited! there are simular priceplans for others things such as free calls. I recommend o2.

02 is an excellent service. I've had it on 02 for the last 6 years and I find them very pleasent and they offer great help and advice. They have a range of different tariffs, so there's one for everyone, I found the perfect one for me which gives me loads of free texts! I've never lost network coverage, and neither has anyone else in my family as we're all on 02. Network coverage is abysmal. I live in a fairly central location in London (on the 6th floor, so not much in the way of obstacles) and I have coverage in the sitting room but not in the rest of the flat. Outside it's the same, the connection drops quite frequently and 3G coverage is terrible. My partner is also on O2 because we both have iPhones but he needs to keep an extra phone on a different network that he uses for work so that he doesn't lose business calls because he doesn't feel he can rely on O2.

I was on O2 many moons ago and was perfectly happy with their pay as you go service. I decided therefore to go onto a contract with them. Big mistake. Everything was fine to start with but then I got one bill of £93.60 and another of £65.80 when I rang customer services a very rude and unhelpful individual told me it was because of 'backdated text message charges' considering my contract at the time was £30 per month and I know I hadn't been texting any mroe than usualy I found this to be a total con. Stay away from 02.

Oh yes. O2 is great. It is avarage at 10p per txt. And 25p per minute for the first 3 minutes of calls and then only 5p per minute for the rest of the day -to anyone. It doesn't have to be the same person!!! It has an amazing signal. I have got two o2 phones and they have a signal almost everywhere I go. I wouldn't swap to anyone else !!!

So far, I really can't find anything to fault O2 on. I've been with them before, several years ago, and they were perfectly satisfactory back then. Now I'm with them again, and I think they've moved up a couple of notches into the outstanding category. Their staff are helpful, the network service is good so far, and it's one of the few companies in the world that actually rewards its loyal customers. I hope it remains so!

I've been with O2 for 3 yrs now - Good network, good coverage, good service. Reduced my £35 contract to £20/mth & £5 gold insurance on renewal. My only gripe is that I was sent a faulty phone to replace a faulty phone, but it was sorted within 2 wks & they offered a temp phone.

Having been with Orange, Vodafone and more recently Virgin I can say that I am very happy O2. Coverage is as good as anyone else these days, so that's never really an issue where I am. I am not a huge caller on mobiles, so I use PAYG and for that o2 offers better value than the others do right now, plus I've now got their (excellent) broadband so overall I am a happy chappy. It's also worth saying that their customer service is really good, friendly and willing to help - which isn't a big thing I know but I always put a lot of stock into how companies treat me. They treat me well, I'll stay. Looking down the page I notice a gripes about 3G and I've noticed that too but to be fair 3G is quite new and if I am miles from anywhere I don't expect HSDPA coverage.

Sometimes the signal goes and sometimes it's not possible to get online or it's very slow, but these are rare occasions. Overall, I'm very happy with o2 in all respects and they seem to have improved since being taken over by Telefonica. Good company, good network and good customer care. 3 could learn a lot from o2 on how to operate a good network and how to treat customers.

this is a horrible network. i have recently came of a contract phone with them and i am so glad its over. Thier customer service was attrocious, thier staff were unfriendly and occassionally rude, they sent bills claiming that i had went over the limit of my contract when i had not (they claimed i had went over 3 hours over my calltime limit when i had only used 15mins of my 600 minute contract) and their interent useage prices are very very expensive. I strongly urge people to stay away from this network

Love this network. I was originally on t-mobile but found the prices to be really expensive. After i changed from that i went straight to o2 and havent changed it since. There are a few problems with loss of signal in certain areas but when do other networks always get signal. They offer a great range of tarrifs for pay and go users. It's not flawless but its certainly a good network.

o2 are naughty they restrict the 3g network to run slowly unless you have a business "profile". then they allow you to use the 3g service, even still at the basic standard for most other networks. this meens that 99% of people with the iphone 3g are running at the same speed on the web as iphone (non 3g) users!! BET YA DIDNT KNOW THAT!!! most EDGE gprs connections on other networks run at the same speed as o2's "3g" domestic network AdamR

O2 is an absolute godsend. After having the dreaded orange I decided to try out O2. Then moved onto O2 unlimited which may I add is a fantastic deal. O2 are constantly giving you surprises and treats and they don't bug you with messages non-stop. Their reception is fantastic as rarely it is low which is a great help and even abroad it is just wonderfull. I would really advise O2 as I think it is the best out of the lot of them. They're custumer service line are super helpfull and well spoken and are easy to work with. Well done O2. Please I can not recommend enough how good they are. So, take it from me, join O2. o2 are the best in my opinion, for £22 per month I get unlimited texts to any network, unlimited o2 to o2 calls and 600 any network minutes, my unlimited texts also work from abroad so it costs me nothing to send and receive texts when i'm on holiday and it also includes video and picture messages so they are all free. (1 text sent from abroad, 1 video message and 1 photo message, they all take equavallent of 4 normal texts but as it's unlimited i don't notice) I get great reception unlike when i was on orange there was no reception at all in the house (none of my friends did either so we all changed back to o2) I've never had a call cut off for bad reception. Customer service has always been great and my broadband with o2 is working better and faster than any i've ever used and only £7.50 a month!! Best Network in the UK

Id never even think of moving networks after this. Had a phone call from o2 to ask about there service and was i happy etc, gentleman was very nice, and quite a laugh after i made a few jokes. ACE network!

o2 is the best network and i would never use anything else! for topping up £15 a month i get 300 texts, 150 minutes after half 7 and for £5 i get 1000 mins/texts to my most used o2 numbers! fab!

The O2 partners help you if you have a question and they are very relieable but the sales team sadly are a bit mean and if you take your phone back they will say that they don't sell phones that don't work and that it should work what a pain in the backside that is.Do not trust the O2 information provided on network coverage.

Unfortunate and incorrect information from the sales team. Although their details confirm that coverage is available at my home postcode (KA3), no coverage exists. As I work from home this leaves the iPhone I purchased useless. Reception is available to me on T mobile, Virgin and Orange (not sure about Vodaphone). It would appear that my only option is to unlock the phone to another network. Do not trust the O2 information provided on network coverage!!!

I got my first mobile "brick phone" many, many, years ago with Vodafone, but changed about 10 years ago to 02 and have never looke back. They are great and I would recommend them to anyone. A few examples: I picked a phone two years ago the 02 XDA without doing too much research on it first. I loved the phone - but without a computer or laptop (which at the time I didnt have)I couldnt download games and get onto 02 active - so was pretty useless for me. Although I had the phone for over 14 days - as a valued customer they let me change it anyway, were extremely helpful, as always. A couple of years ago while on holiday in Greece I sent my friend a short video of our appartments (yes, sad I know but she wanted to see what they were like as I had been raving about them on the phone to her - and she was thinking of getting a late booking and joining us the following week!!!) So I tried to send the very short video - it took over 20 minutes to go and then came back as 'not sent' so I tried again - same thing happened. Not knowing much about sending videos via the phone - I have sent pictures before but they only cost the same amount as 3 text messages, I got a terrible shock when I received my next bill as trying to send these video's had cost me £15 !!!! When I contacted 02 they informed me that it was just as well the video's had not got through as it would have cost me over £65 !!!!!! I nearly died of shock - they were very sympathetic and understanding and when they checked back on my phone usage records realised that I had never used this facility before and that their information was not very clear on costs of such things - let alone sending them from abroad - so only charged me a token £5 !! Their helplines are always easy to get through to and there has never been a problem they couldnt solve !! I would recommend them to anyone.

I love O2. I think the prices are fair and faily cheap! Get a Genie Sim! £15 gets you 500 texts a month! Or you can swap the texts for minutes! I always have a strong signal with O2 except when im going somewhere where all network signals get cut off like a supermarket or train etc! Other than that, fantastic!

I hate O2 ther prices are a shambles the only good thing about it is the reseption. The price for Pay and Go people has gone up hugly. It was that £10 would last me for about two months but now it last about 1-2 weeks if I'm luckly. Asda mobile seems much better anyone had any experences with them?

i love o2. Its the only network that will satisfy my need for unlimited texts without robbing me blind! Most of the people i know are on o2, so i pay £15 a month, and get unlimited texts and calls to them. (o2 Unlimited) and then because i dont use my calltime credit, i have subscribed to the 'web bolt on' for £7.50 a month. What more could a text, and internet addict ask for???!!!

they lied! I went into an 02 store on oxford street as my recently acquired handset was faulty. They told me they didnt have any in stock to replace it but can get it repaired. I accepted and got the phone repaired by them. two weeks after getting the phone back from repairs the problem resurfaced and they said they still didnt have stock to replace it and would get it repaired AGAIN. Its been repaired a second time and so far so good but shortly after i dropped it off for repairs i went in with my colleague who wanted a contract but wasnt sure what handset to get. the first one the sales person picked up was the c902 which amazingly hadnt been in stock before. they didnt have to lie, could have said they would try to repair it before replacing it

Can't fault O2 as a network generally although some shop staff could be friendlier. Been with O2 for 4 years, previously on vodafone, changed as O2 had better deals and were more willing to help. Charges for web use a pain.

have been with them for as long as I have been in the UK, So coming up to 8 years now... signal has always been good apart from a few years ago had a few occasions when I had no network at all for over 24 hrs, so as all my frds on O2. Currently live in a basement flat with only 1-2 bar of signal, but never have any probs with calls at all... better than my shitty 3. As a long term customer I always get 10 - 15 pounds off my tariff and extra texts but would always have to argue and threaten them would leave otherwise... it usually takes me 2 days and talk to about 4 different people to get the deal I want... of course they can do you a good deal if you have been with them for long... still tho not the cheapest network out there, but phone calls are expensive in this country in my opinion.

Im my experience 02 is the best network, the signal always seems to be 3/5 bars or more which therefore means your always able to connect a call, its especially good when your out and in an area where others have no signal and you do so your able to make that well needed call, im on pay monthly so the cost of texts and calls haven't affected me, and when i decided i majorly needed a tariff change 02 provided me with one with no problems.

It's got ok coverage, and if you've got a problem the customor care get it sort quickly. BUT the prices of a phone call have shot up for p&g customors and the people in there shops are so rude a always make you part with a good wedge of cash before you leave. They used to be the best everyone knew that. But now it's just gone down hill. O2 will need to improve or they'll end up going bust.

i moved to a small village in lincolnshire then realised my t mobile signal was virtually non existent,pity because their tarrifs are great,i got a vodafone sim which worked better,but when i bought a new phone i got a free sim for o2 and thought i would try it,it works best of all and i have a signal anywhere in the house,thank you o2.people can text me now.

Love o2, been with Orange a few times but O2 is SOOO muchbetter, I pay £30 top up a month, by the end of the month still got about 7000 text messages left out of my unlimited amount!! Although they say unlimited, its about 12000-13000 but can't complain at that when don't have to pay out like most networks!! Very rarely lose reception & when I do its normally when I'm on the bus!! Keep up the good work O2.xx

O2 is BADLY shortchanged by Carphone Warehouse. Few of my friends have problem with O2, but mine have all to do with CPW. I was mis-sold a product, was told it was included when it was not, and when I returned to CPW to challenge them, they denied all knowledge of the existence of the product (Co-Pilot being bundled with the XDA Orbit, when it was not if you buy through CPW). When I returned to the shop, the manager of the shop suggested that I should download it from th internet - thus implying that I should pay some more for a product that WAS available on O2, had I bought it from them directly. Never again with Carphone warehouse, NEVER again.

Absolute rubbish in summary. Poor signal, or even can't recieve calls/ text messages even with full network signal. And yes, disgusting customer support staff especially in Surrey Quays shopping centre (both 02 and Carphonewarehouse). Thank God my 18 month contract is over and I am moving to vodafone.

O2 are a mixed bag. Been with them as PAYG customer and then had a contract for over 4 years. Decent connection/network coverage, probably one of the best and if you want a good deal the online contracts are very good value, especially the sim-only and PAYG with extra texts. However dont be fooled by the customer service when you sign up, after you are connected trying to get through to anyone in customer service is a nightmare - be prepared to spend hours on hold to hear a human voice and then they usually fob you off or refuse replace damaged phones etc, unless you ring the contract cancelling line in which case you get put through straight away. Which brings me nicely onto my next point, when renewing your contract they will try to charge you over the odds. Little tip, just ring them, tell them you want to cancel your contract, they will ask what you are switching to and the price. As long as you tell them a reasonable deal (feel free to exaggerate a bit) they will match or better it. Guaranteed. Along with a brand new phone. Sorted. If they didnt do this I would have left 2-3 years ago due to poor customer service but as they have continued to offer the best deal out there I have felt no need to... As for Carl. Why would you stay with a network for 4-5 years if you NEVER get a signal in your house or monst buildings? Sort of defeats the point of having a mobile doesnt it?

I have been O2 for about 1 year on Pay and Talk and about 2 years on a contract. I LOVE O2, they really are fantastic. On Pay and Talk, i love the way you get so many rewards, like 10% back on your top ups, and the option to get 300 messages if you top up a tenner. Unlike other networks, i like how you keep the £10 AND the 300 messages, rather than trading the tenner for the messages. Also, I find the Online contracts very very good value for money, and the customer service team are extremely good too - i've barely ever been put on hold!

I always seem to have signal, even at my house! and my parents are on Orange and they never have any signal! I'm going to stick with O2 unless I have any future problems with them. I've been with O2 for nearly a year, I get gifts and awards now and again. And I like the borrow a quid service. Its really easy to check your credit balance, you just go to contacts and find it and then press the call button and it tells you, by writing. O2 BEATS ORANGE :D

well in my experience ive had o2 since it was 1st launched in 2001 and ive had great help from o2. i recently upgraded my fone to a 3g compatible 1 and i rang up o2 to get a 2g compatible simcard and they sent me 1 and i got it the very next day and o2 do 10% of top ups bk what is great because i top up alot and it allows me not to top up as much and there bolt on packages are excellent i would recomend o2 to anyone whos on pay as you go

I was with O2 for yeeeeeeeeeeeears and never had any problems with them what so ever. Signal was always fine, if emailing they always got back (generally) in under 12 hours, never mind 48. Really helpful customer service line as well. They offer good rewards on pay as you go, however being a skint student I had to go to orange for a cheaper contract! If I ever have ny problems with orange, I'll definitely go back to them!

The thing about o2 that most people like, is the signal. The isn't many situations where you would find your self with out any service. I was with 3 at one point, and they did send me offers like every week which was really annoying, but with o2 i don't get that at all. It would be nice to get a little gift every now and then but hey.. For good signal, go with o2..

Been with o2 for 8 months on contract through dialaphone. AWFUL. o2 are useless when you have a problem and it can take weeks to sort out, being transfered to this person, now this one etc. All i wanted to do was set up an account online to see my bill. It took 3 weeks. Problem 2 - trying to find out how much texts/calltime left, had to go online to check - not always correct. Could then recieve a text to find out - not always available. Problem 3 - Texted the o2 treats number as i am a valid customer for this service, no reply of course. DREADING TRYING 2 UPGRADE MY PHONE in 4 months

I love O2. I've been on all networks in the UK apart from "3" at various times previously and have found O2 to be far and away the best. Supreme signal strength/quality which far outclasses my friends/family on other networks - they're constantly having to borrow my phone to make calls because theirs have no signal! The only time I've ever had a problem with signal is when we had a massive snow storm a few years ago but even then it happened to everybody around here, regardless of network. Cheap as chips on PAYG and loads of great bonuses/bolt-ons etc. I can't fault them!

Have been on both contract and PAYG and have had no problems whatsoever. Signal coverage where I am is superb and easily surpasses any other network in this area. The o2 PAYG tariffs are very rewarding in offering 300 text messages if you top up £10 a month as well as offering 1MB of GPRS usage. I will continue to be a loyal o2 customer for a very long time!

I have a W850i on O2. End of contract, I thought I will hold out for a SE C905 so phoned O2 to switch to Simplicity as a stop gap. Got through pretty much straight away. Helpful chap did the switch over in a quick and pleasant way. No dramas, no need for new simcard. Done How easy was that! I have had contracts with Voda, 3 and Orange and, in comparison, O2 ROCK!

Been with o2 for several years now. The reception is very good in southampton. But this is probally to do with having a mask 5 mins down the road. However as a pay as you go customer wanting more now for my money they certinally deliver. With there new free traiffs i now get 500 free texts if i top up £15 a month, leaving that money also to use to spend on calls. However there contract deals arent the best around at the moment. Also there online customer support team are amazing. I had a problem, emailed them and they responded within several hours. The person obivously knew what they were talking about and i managed to solve my issue with my phone within hours.

Ended up in Trowbridge the other weekend and while the wife was shopping I nipped in to the local o2 store. What a fantastic experience, staff who genuinely seemed interested in me and wanted to assist me with what was best for me. Complet anaylisis of my usage and came up with a deal on the latest blackberry which is ideal for me and means I can pick up emails no problem at all. I have heard nothing but good things from colleague and business contacts regarding o2 coverage and customer service and boy are they right. Number ported from 3 (yes!!!!!!) by Wed, signal superb and customer services in the UK (hooray!!!). Would recommend o2 to anyone especially the staff in Trowbridge. Thanks!

Last year I foolishly signed up for an 18 month contract on o2. o2 works around 70% of the time. If you try to make a call between 6pm and 7pm all you get is a network busy message. Very poor considering I was stuck with them for 18 months. Sometimes I'll be sitting there at 8pm and my phone will beep and tell me I have 8 missed calls!!!!! Why? The thing didn't ring once. If you ever need to make a call between 6pm and 7pm AVOID O2

The deal which I have at the moment is good as I do a lot of texting (unlimited texts- £15 a month). The service is fantastic, o2 have got in touch to set up all the usernames, passwords, tips, hints, and even insurance deals you could possibly want. I believe network-consumer relations is important, and so far they make me feel like a valued customer. They don't seem to send useless stuff either, it's all valid, important information. Signal strength is also brilliant, most places I have a completely full signal bar, fantastic. In contrast to Reggie below, I couldn't get a signal at all on T-Mobile in my area, which is why I left that network. I live in Lincolnshire by the way.

But the reason why I give 02 4 stars is that they haven't got a line where you can check your minuets and checks etc... but they said they will have a line soon. was an o2 customer for ages, but left the network because of the bad pay monthly deals. i was on pay and go which was fab, now on t mobile which i would recommend, its better than o2

ive been with 02 for over 2 years and i recommend it to anyone, although price of phone calls to other mobiles can be alot (i pick text anytime offer rather than the talk anytime) i really enjoy being with 02 atm i have unlimited texting and 10% off calls for this month because of 02 treats with £10 you can get 300 free texts £15 500 free texts 20-30 1000 free texts however i have topped up 30 pound and got unlimited for some reason. it even says 11 000 free texts when you ring 4444 its amazing i recommend it

EXCELLENT! O2 is the best network by far. i have being with 02, Virgin, Tesco, Orange And Vodaphone. The Best by far. Hmmmmm,yeh,i've been with 02 for 15 months now & all i can say is the network is really good but..I'm sick & tired of the customer services messing me about..they changed my tarif without my concent,which left me with a big phone bill.thats just 1 of the problems i've had with 02 & im glad my contract is soon coming to an end..Or i might buy my contract out & probably go with Vodfone or Orange... Stay well clear of 02...

Some great offers on O2, which u cant miss. The only reason for me to knock 2 stars off is cos their coverage is noticeably bad. Many places i go, i cannot get signal, or its really weak. An i dont exactly live in teh peak district. From Midlands to London. Its very patchy. Tmobile however, ive never had a problem with their coverage. Its excellent, except they cost more!!

O2 have been brilliant, very helpful, and their O2 simplicity package is fantastic! It's a sim only contract, I pay £20 a month and get 1000 texts, 400 minutes and free calls to other 02 mobiles!

i am with o2 i think this network better than orange because o2 got more offer than orange example unlimated call and text from o2 if you top up £15 or more but in orange you only got 600 text (i think). also the customer service is very good and helpful. in orange customer service they very rude and not helpful.

Although coverage is excellent in my area. I agree with Eds comment on 07/02/08 that customer service is not as great as it could be or should be. The range of contracts is impressive but the negotiations come upgrade time are not. For example, I was on Online 20 I think its called which included the following: 150 free cross network minutes anytime 300 free texts I went over my bill at least £10 every month but after 18 months I was told that "I don't use my phone enough" for o2 to grant me extra minutes and text messages. I was offered a take it or leave it £100 credit. The other option was an "upgrade" phone and the range of phones was awful. I could pick one of those phones up for pennies over the internet! That's my gripe anyway.

O2 has the best coverage, the best customer service, the best tariffs on contract and pay as you go. What more could you want? Also have the exclusive on the amazing i-phone! Just come from the O2 store in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and the staff in there were extremely knowledgable and willing to do anything they could to help me.

I have found o2 to be really good in the past, that was until recently .. I am on my third replacement phone from O2 after paying £25 excess on my insurance. The first phone they sent me was faulty and couldn't be fixed so was replaced, the second was faulty .. etc. This is a manufacturer problem so I am told. I went into my o2 store and they sent the phone off, they told me to call the customer service line to complain, they then told me to talk to the shop .. who said to call customer services .. who told me to call samsung. It is the lack of face-to-face customer service that annoys me, if I wanted to speak to a call center then I would call it! over £400 a year for this!

i have always been with 02. its brilliant with its very good traffis and its little fun 02 treats. i dont think i will every change from 02 with there good signal which i hardly every lose and there pay as u go deals. also there new bluebook is really good and i like saving my contacts and messages in there. customer services are very nice and quite to get in contact with. best network i have every had.

Been with o2 for years now, because they offer the best deals to returning customers. I currently pay a little over £20 each month and get around 900 minutes and 1000 messages. This is excluding any of the o2 treats I have also been offered - personally 25 extra messages wouldn't do that much difference! :) For this wonderful offer, I have since advised everyone I know to join o2, since they will no doubt be rewarded with similar treatment for their loyalty. Also, signal strength is amazing, and the network only went down for 30 minutes over New Year's morning, alike every phone system does. Customer service reps are polite, and take about 3 minutes to get in touch with. Well done o2.

O2 are an outstanding network. I currently own a Samsung G600 which i got on a 12 month contract with O2. Withing the first week my handset broke. No worries. I sent it back to O2 and I had a replacement posted in the same week. Along with great customer service O2 spoil their customers with offers, free texts, free weekend calls and O2 treats. O2 are a pleasure to be part of.

I have used all of the networks in the UK and O2 are easily the best. Orange told me coverage in my area was excellent, not really it was non-existent but they refused to let me out of the contract until I took it the legal route. Vodafone have non-existent customer support. O2 have always been prompt and friendly, you just need to be firm but fair with them. Network coverage is great, although the 3G side of it is not so good in my area, but GSM is fine. They are also quite open to negotiations regarding contract tariffs, I have been a customer a few years and get a great deal, none of the other networks could match it.

Two main problems with O2, over the whole of the UK there are many areas where the signal is non existent (compared to Orange), and they need constant pressure to change tariff to a competetive package. If I do not prompt them they never offer an upgrade handset unlike other networks I have used.

O2 is easily the best value for money. Other networks tried to compete when I bought my new phone but they were nowhere close. With things like treats, rewards and bolt-ons you can get so much free!! Plus I have my top 10 numbers and genie sim - 1000 minutes or texts to my chosen 10 O2 numbers for £5 and 500 texts on top of that if i top up £15 a month! I don't know much about contracts but on pay-as-you-go, there is no doubt O2 are the best!

I'm an O2 user, having used other networks O2 beat them hands down. Great coverage and good tariffs. Some reviews on this site seem to slate O2, however I would question peoples knowledge of the service. One person quotes "I am on O2 600... costs £35 a month, and also cashback... which is good... but look at orange with 500 mins and unlimited texts for £30 a month... " O2 do offer unlimited texts and O2-O2 mins, but only if you go directly through O2. If you have a cashback deal, you have not gone through O2 as they dont offer them! 5 out 5 for O2, 1 out of 5 for some of the users on here not knowing their stuff!!!

I am fed up with O2. My messages to China have never been received not a single one! Yet they charged them on my bill. When I asked other friends with other network whether they could successfully send any messages, they all said fine, their messages were received! I called O2 customer service to enquire about this, they told me that the network in China might not be accepting it. This is rubbish because they accepts messages coming from other providers in the UK (and I have personally investigated this with other friends!). Second reason she gave me is that my international roaming has been barred - this is rubbish because before I rang the customer service, I just called my mum who is in Malaysia! The customer service lady not only did not bother to investigate, but told me with her voice raised when I tried to explain to her! So poor customer service!

I love Vodafone, and T-mobile are a great network but ultimatly i think that O2 is the best of them all. I'm currently on PAYG, just come from Vodafone PAYT and T-Mobile PAYG before that. They are fantastic because i get great reception!, I get at least 300 free texts a month with a maximum of 3000( but i would never use that many! lol), great internet, and they have always been happy to sort out my problems. It's the free texts and browsing that have done it for me. :D

Tried to cancel my contract today as I am near the end - spoke to a lovely guy who was very helpful. Have always had my problems sorted, however my bills are very costly each month and I find myself paying an extra £50-60 per month to support my phone useage, when my monthly cost should be £19. Switching to t-mobile, I hope the coverage is better than other people have found it to be..

I have only ever been with O2, on a pay-as-you go contract, so I have nothing to compare it with. However, I have never had any problems with them, and I have a 'genie' simcard which gives me totally free texts all the time! I think perhaps this makes phonecalls dearer, but I'm more of a texter anyway!

was with 02 for 5 plus years for business and private phones were fairly good at first then i fell foul of an 02 agent selling me an upgrade under the guise of 02 this led to over 18 month of hassle trying to get the deal cancelled didnt want the phones but the agent didnt quite understand after hours on phone to 02 getting pulled from pillar to post telling several staff the full tale every time i got nowhere sent several letters( yes letters ) as email was waste of time still waiting no response whatsoever eventually stopped direct debit funnily enough i got a call when they werent getting paid !!!! what a shambles now with three worlds apart on contract,service even with the call centre in india get things done quicker an even the signal which is often called poor by other providers is way better than everything else ive been on do yourself a favour give them a bash but dont go to o-poo

I have started on O2 and been on it for 5 months now. I have mixed reviews on this network... they seem to offer great free phones on contract and some very good upgrades as well... But what i dont seem to get is why many people are drooling over the promotional offers such as O2 treats/free texts and free mins that they give... other networks seem to offer way better free things... its nothing to be proud of really. Also... the pay plans. I am on O2 600... costs £35 a month, and also cashback... which is good... but look at orange with 500 mins and unlimited texts for £30 a month... or vodafone with stop the clock. The O2 data charges are unbearable as well. Who came up with £3 per MB. That is highly expensive and means you have to watch your browsing... or you end up with a nasty bill... other networks offer better data plans. Lastly... the coverage, though bearable, is quite bad compare to other networks. Yes O2 have their strenghts, but frankly i am dissapointed.

Excellent deals every year more so after the first years contract ended and a never ending amount of freebies every 3 months (Free Treats), Im paying £12-15 a month for 400 texts and 200 mins/month anynetwork anytime calls plus all the other freebies thrown in, i was firstly with orange years ago- my verdict: RUBBISH network and expensive stupid menus added to phones, then vodafone which was better than any other at the time but i find there so expensive so thats a no go nowand a bit bored of the red vodafone icons(notice how theyve stopped advertising on telly now???-probably made enough money to not care about its customers maybe?? not sure. I'd recommend o2 to anyone although one problem i have had is not been able to view my bills online and also cant get anywhere with WAP settings on my Nokia N91 but i cant complain other than that as they are very helpful and spend time in shop to assist you.BARGAIN !!!

Have had a phone with O2 right back to the early Cellnet days, and since they split with BT the service and support have been getting better and better. Rarely do I need to call them but when I do, I have always spoken to a smart and intelligent operator who knows their stuff. I travel all over the country and the only network problems seem to be in Norfolk, which proves they have a sense of humour. Looking at all the other comments and my experiences with Orange, I would hate to move!

Have been with O2 for 3 years now, just got a new contract with them for another year. 99% of the time if you have a question and phone them up you get a very friendly person on the other side of the phone who knows what to do or who could find out what should be done the only annoying thing is the amount of sh!ty options they have just for the iPhone when you call them! p.s. didn't had any problems with network coverage either.

Hi, been with O2 now for over 3 years, no problems and plenty of perks ( free minutes or txts every 3 months etc ), just upgraded to a new phone LG Viewty, to get the phone for free on a 12 month contract you have to pay £40 a month but told them of a better deat by dialaphone and they beat it, only have to pay £30 a month for 600 mins /1000 txts GREAT. Also both kids are on O2 and they say it is great too, the wife has gone on to 3 on a 18month contract which she now regrets, she says the price is great for what she gets £20 month for 400 mins/600txts but the service is terrible and when contract ends she will be going back to O2, so all I can say is O2 is the best TRY IT

The first phone i ever got, was on o2. And i have to say, i have never been disappointed. o2 dont necessarily provide a strong reception , but they do have the cheapest of tariffs out there. So if anyone is wanting a good combination of quality and cost effective-ness, go for o2. They have some very great pay as you go and pay monthly deals on their website. About the customer service, i agree with colin. i take my hat off to o2 for that. To jimmys comment "I use the Online Pay and Go Tariff, this gives you 300 free texts per month for £10 top up. I add on a 'bolt on' for £7.99 per month (taken from the £10 call time credit)which gives me 50 any network/time minutes. Plus you also get 1Mb of free data per month. In addition they also give you 10% of your top ups back every 3 months and o2 treats. To get all this you only have to meet the criteria of topping up by at least £10 per month. You can't beat that deal on any contract!" You dont have to pay 7.99 every month anymore, o2 are doing 1000 free texts now just for a fiver every month. The great thing about this bolt on is, it has nothing to do with any of your other add ons. So if you have opted in for free weekend or o2 to o2 calls, you would still get your 1000 texts for a fiver (which is taken off from your credit) and the free o2-o2 calls just for topping up every month. Does it get any better? I dont think so.

How can people moan about o2? Never had a moments bother with them, always there on the phone if you need help. Ask about any problem they will spend the time to sort it. And how many companies write to you saying they think the contract you are on is the wrong one and you should go on a cheaper one?? Oh, and broadband at £7.50 a month if you are an o2 monthly customer!!! Not bad at all.

Been with O2 for 6 months. Fantastic. Signal is great everywhere. On pre pay i get for 10 quid top up 500 mins from my postcode free treats every month 10 percent back of top ups every 3 months free internet browsing every month. Call quality is crisp and i never have dropped calls or connection problems. Customer service is great with no waiting on hold.

I add on a 'bolt on' for £7.99 per month (taken from the £10 call time credit)which gives me 50 any network/time minutes. Plus you also get 1Mb of free data per month. In addition they also give you 10% of your top ups back every 3 months and o2 treats. To get all this you only have to meet the criteria of topping up by at least £10 per month. You can't beat that deal on any contract!.Have always found signal strength to be good and they handled my number porting efficiently.

I've been with O2 in the Midlands for about five years now and it suits me perfectly. Took out a 12 month online contract which costs £20/month and I get 500 texts and 300 any network off peak minutes (7pm til 7am weekdays and ALL weekend) each month. I also currently get 20 anytime/network minutes a month using O2 treats. Available phones as upgrades are only average though. (currently using a Nokia 6300, which is faultless, however) This contract is superb value, and is loads better than the current £20/month ones that stretch over 18months/2years. I've had no problems at all, messages send on time, calls work as they should and the online billing is faultless. Network signal is, in my opinion, pretty much the same whoever you choose. It simply depends on where you need the signal. ALL networks have signal 'shadows' and dead zones, my girlfriend simply couldn't use O2 at her old job, had to get an Orange PAYG phone for work! While I can stay on this 'old' contract, I'm not going anywhere. Just off to go and watch hundreds of people that have waited for hours to pay £270 and £35/month for a phone that's got no 3G, poor battery life, average camera and does everything most 80quid phones do, but much slower. BUT JUST LOOK AT THE TOUCHSCREEN THOUGH, IT'S AWESOME. It's a novelty for HOURS

Signal strength in south west Wales area exceedingly poor (Tenby/haverford west/llawhaden) Other networks all had good reception. I was embarrased to have to borrow other peoples phones to make calls.

I was with Vodafone for a while and kept persuading myself that they were great until I eventually switched to o2 and now I would never go back to any other network as o2 are just superb, helpful, polite and do some fantastic deals! Thanks o2 =D x

Love o2! Would never go with anyone else. The online tariffs simply cannot be beaten, with the option to have either loads of minutes, loads of texts, and...a combination of both, which tends to be quite rare! I get 1500 anytime cross-network minutes, 750 texts and 1mb free downloads all for £30 a month. Plus, you can view your bill online and to see how much free allowance you have left - it is usually about a day behind, but I can easily average a guess at how much I've used in the past day anyway. Another thing - very important to me - is that they don't fill their phone full of their own rubbish, slap their logo all over it and restrict certain features. I detest it when a network decides what you should have on the phone and what functions you need - what right do they have to do that?! Take note, evil putrid Vodafone! I'm a huge o2 fan, we've had our problems in the past but they've only ever been minor and have been resolved. I'll never, ever change from o2.

I've been with them all, vodafone, orange, t-mobile, but o2 win hands down. a couple of months ago they called me 9 months into my 12 month contract and offered me an upgrade. Gave me 100 extra texts per month, the SE 810i I wanted, and reduced my tarif to £20 per month which worked out cheaper than all the online cash back deals, faultless. Oh, and the phones aren't locked and menus messed about with like some I could mention (Orange!!)

I LOVE O2 I GET 300 TEXTS A MONTH & £10 CALLING CREDIT AND ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TOP UP £10 A MONTH !!!!! GREAT RECEPTION OFFER LEND A QUID - ( o2 loan you £1 for whatever you want wether it be textin calling ) THEN YOU TOP UP WITHIN 5 DAYS AND THEY TAKE IT BACK!!! AND THEY GIVE THEIR CUSTOMERS 10% OF THEIR TOPPING UP CREDIT BACK!

I've been with O2 for about three years and they were great when I first signed up - then 12months later they gave me a fantastic deal and a great upgrade!! but this year I haven't been able to 'view my bill' online for about 5months, despite contacting several times, they offered me no discounts for being with them for so long only what was on thier website - so I woudn't look forward to thier loyalty features, it's as if they used to be customer driven now they just want your money..

O2 is probably the best network ive ever used. I tp up £10 every month and then they give me £2.50 extra after i have and either 300 texts! or 50 minutes! AWESOME! :] the bad bit is the pop up message after a call or text saying the amount of credit :] Grwat reseption too!

Never had a problem, great reception in most areas been with them for years when they were at first called BT Cellnet. Cant fault them, Good phone deals very good customer service, free voicemail, great.

I recently had to go into hospital to have my appendix out. While I was in there, I was the only patient who was able to get their phone to work. I had [signal] 5 bars on my phone, another patient had 2 bars on his (Vodafone), and a third had no signal at all (Orange). I can walk round my local supermarket with a perfect connection while other customers can't get a signal. I have tried all the major networks - Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, and O2 in my time, and have discovered that O2 is the best for costs, signal, and service. I have had to phone O2 customer service twice, once for advice on MMS, and once for settings on my D900i, and each time my call has been answered within 3 rings, by an ENGLISH call centre. I can honestly say that O2 are the best provider presently available ( NO, I DON'T work for them ! ).

Have been with o2 nearly 3 years. 750 min for £35/month, when bought online, friendly coustumer hepl. Best thing is that the Voicemail is free everywhere else 12-20p per minute.

FANTASTIC network!!!!!! Am gettin my 4th fone wiv em(also my 4th sony ericsson) and wudnt think of changin network. The signal is top notch and the offers are great such as 300 txts for £10 on pay n go as well as a tenner cred. GR8 NETWORK

I've mixed views with O2. Fantastic deal they're doing me at the mo, £20 a month for 500 anytime/any network minutes, 500 texts and download allowance. Bargain, I know. BUT, I have the worst signal from my house, its usually on one bar, 2 if I'm lucky! Anywhere else, the signals pretty good. Trouble is I work from home so I've never got a signal!!!! They swapped my sim for a 3g, said I'd get a better signal, but no. I don't. Can't say they're not helpful, and they are great value, just got my gripes about signal strength.

Fantastic customer care, any faulty phones exchanged with no quibbles. been with O2 for 15 years and no complaints. They don't lock their phones to their network like others do. Excellent service +++++
