I've been on 3 for almost 3 years now and they're okay. The best things about the service is that it's cheap and I certainly haven't had any coverage problems. On the downside, the call centres are all Asia based and while service has definitely improved, sometimes it can be difficult to communicate. I had several faulty phones (Sony Ericcson) from them and in the end wrote to their Customer Services mentioning the Sale of Goods Act - they didn't even bother replying! Cheap as chips but you get what you pay for.

I had a phone with 3 for 18 months which just ran to the end of its contract, the 18 months contract i signed upto was great i always had a connection and my phone worked brill without faults "k800i". UNTIL i was due an upgrade i rang to say id seen the 1100 mix and match tarif which is currently at £20 and not £27 a month, i was told this was only on offer to new customers, they offered me a new phone with 100 mins and 300 texts which was a complete joke. I was told to end my contract and if i signed up to a new one id be classed as a new customer, thinking everything would be fine i did as i was asked........ This is where it gets bad.... ok i signed up got my new phone tried to connect it up and had no signal ... had it 3 days still no signal, i rang 3 to say there was a problem and i was told that ( ALL NEW 3 CUSTOMERS DO NOT BOUNCE OF 02 NETWORK ANYMORE ) i had no idea i was using 03, i thought it was 3s network i was bouncing from. I mean why could they not have stated this on the website? And if i had kept my old contract id have stil had a great signal..... anyways i asked to cancel and send it back and was told i could not cancel because i opened the box it came with, even tho i had no signal, i spoke to about 9 different people on the 3 helpline who were repeatedly aggressive when i was trying to explain what the problem was. Each person passed me onto someone else, where i had to yet again explain what was going on, after 4 days on the phone to customer services i found someone who knew what they were talking about, after explaining the problems and explaining i was going to make a complaint, i was told they were sorry about what happened and were willing to cancel my contract. ive never ever had anything like this happen is the past when i was with 02 network, to be honest i only changed because 3 had cheaper offers,,, but none of them lives upto anything they say on their website. customer serives is a complete joke... 3 networks a complete joke and 3s website does not explain somethings in detail. ive since joined 02 and just ordered the sony c702 *new out* i look forward to getting back on with my life!

I was impressed by low prices, but the free minutes on packages have many more exceptions than other companies, bumping up the price, and the Customer Services is one of the worst I have encountered. I had a particularly irritating experience where a simple problem involved ringing 4 times over two weeks; explaining the same situation to people who all repeatedly aggressively interrupted before they understood the situation. None of them had completed notes on the system, and apparently the simple action wasn't completed each time. Appalling.

With the free access to planet 3 it is so easy to see how many units I have left which I think other networks havent even thought about. It is so easy to manage how many units I have left. Good signal although it is sometimes a bit tempremental, but I am not fussy...Best network I have been on so far I think

I left O2 due to high charges - i.e. being totally ripped off! Have found the international option very useful as I live on the border with the Republic of Ireland has saved me a lot of money - as even when phone roams to 3 ire it comes off my inclusive texts and I am not charged. I have recommended this phone to family and friends (who also have had no complaints) and would recommed to anyone. In middle of changing contracts now and fingers crossed all goes well.

Yes there call center is in india so what, if they can solve your problem I don't care if there call center is on the moon.I do a little travelling and have had no major problem with there coverage either. lets face it ALL networks will have pockets of areas where reception will be poor, but in general most have good coverage. As far as value for money is concerned find me a network that offers a better deal and I will tiptoe to bombay. And considering 3 have only been going since 2003 they are competitive and growing everday. Keep it up 3 and you will be the biggest in the land.

The price of calls are very cheap and no worries about using the mobile to call another mobile. Counting down the days until the end of my contract on the 17th May 08. Then will take out a sim only monthly contract with a competetor. Why? 1.Customer service centre in Delhi are useless (may as well be talking to a robot). 2. Apart from pay as u go no short term contracts ie: sim only as other networks are offering now. We are emigrating so have spent the last 20mins trying to explain why we do not want a long contract, we were advised to take out an eighteen month contract and then transfer this over to a family member when we leave the country. Nice try from 3! they sure don't like losing business. 3.Phones which cannot be unlocked, only 3 could be so mean. 4.Watch out if your job is insecure as they will not offer any help if you can't afford your monthly contract payment, within weeks you will have a court order, this happend to my son recently. (In a similar situation, Orange put a hold on my friends sons contract for three months to enable him to find another job and be able to afford to use his phone again)3 would not entertain this suggestion. 5.3 mobile shop staff do not want to know once they have made the sale and got their comission they are told by HO that any customer service issues have to be taken up by phoning customer services and guess who you will get an Indian who can't understand what you are saying and is reading from notes on a screen, if you ask for a supervisor they will argue with you for half an hour before finding one, and when they eventually find a superviosor and you get to speak to one they are not much help either. 6. Funny how the only time you speak to anyone in the UK is when your contract is nearly up and they want to offer a new contract deal, I have been inendated over the last month, or if you have not paid your bill! MAY HAVE GOOD DEALS BUT DON'T BE FOOLED YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

The winners of the worst customer services in the world, do not deal with 3 as you will be pulling your hair out in no time when you have to deal with them, and yes you will sooner or later, the experience is so stressful and a knightmare you will not forget in a hurry. Diabolical customer service. Advisors don't have a clue and give you conflicting info every time you speak to someone else. Customer service call centres in India and Scotland, and they dont even communicate with each other properly. The guy at 3 / Three can't even get taking a direct debit payment correctly. They insist that your direct debit details are correct, but then disconnect you (this has happened to countless customers). Then they can't even take payment by credit card, saying your card is being rejected when their systems are just knackered. Advisors do not want to help at all, you can't get to speak to anyone in authority, and their seems to be no compensation for when they screw up. All in all, 3 Mobile / Three Mobile has to be the very worst 'company' I have ever dealt with. They make Dixons look so professional. Read the internet reviews of the network before you buy from these dogs....they will treat you like scum.

They wanted me to sign something even though it was just a pay as you go phone (sounded dodgey so I refused). Getting the phone up and running was a breeze. I blocked the sim card by mistake and ended up having to call one of the dreaded overseas call centres to get an unlock code, which was (remarkably, given the bad media) not such a bad ordeal. Call quality is variable which may have more to do with my cheap handset than the network. 3 seems to have improved since my last experience with them many years ago. note: I'm on pay as you go. I would never take a contract with 3 or anyone else for that matter.

Dont start me - Coverage not bad!! Charges ok! But those points are completely irrelavent once you have tried to talk to three customer services about any subject that wanders from thier call centre "Automated Scripts" - (thats the bible the call handlers read off the screen to you in response to your questions when you phone up).. I tried to cancel a three contract once within the legal period - i was assured it was dealt with and within 6 months was billed for the whole contracted amount for a three year contract.... then the bailiffs got involved.... then after 6 attempts ringing Three customer services to advise they had an error going on that was causing me stress they advised, "DON'T WORRY - IF U CANT PAY THE BILL NOW THAT IS OK - BECUASE YOU STILL HAVE TWO DAYS AND MAY WIN THE NATIONAL LOTTERY"... Wow. So i went to my local Three shop who advsed ring the call centre (who advised goto the shop)!!! I rang back the baliffs and advised it was an error an if they knock my door they would be in a serious state of regret.. Three still bill me ocaisionaly and i have heard nothing from the Baliffs since my heated conversation.. All for a cheap network rate! I use Three pay as u go because it garauntees i do not have to talk to thier customer services otherwise it's back to Orange who i gladly pay more money to for a reliable service. It isnt the call handlers fault at three - they are just reading a screen script which tells them what to say to the customer and they all seemed like really decent folks. I think they had been trained badly by a bunch of profit mongering sharks who had conveniently avoided having to do any real customer service through a cleverly set up system that negated the ability of thier staff to help and thus saves millions of £££'s a year. There is no three customer services IMO and sadly it seems to be down to the management and not the call handlers or shop floor staff.. It's commendable only to take business abroad if it is good business, otherwise you are just lining pockets at the expense of the consumer or your customer whilst giving the call handlers abroad who are obviously good sorts a bed reputation.. Therin lies a lesson - No poor business lasts!! And for ones bright enough to take thier business to the expaning Indian economy - You should be surely aware of the universal law of KARMA - It's just called bankrupcy due to poor customer relations in my world.. SORT IT OUT THREE MOBILE - leave the champagne alone and take a day out in the real world!!! Rant over.

Countless calls to unhelpful customer services haven't helped. They continue to brush the issue under the carpet (although they DID manage to fix it for a month, then it got worse again. Handset issues, too, have been poorly resolved: a 3-day repair took 2 weeks, and a loan phone was, apparently, too much for them to provide.

Network coverage is pretty good but the main area where 3 really fall by the wayside is customer service. Just three of the many issues that stick in the mind are: 1)I got charged for (18+) services I did not subscribe to and was told they came free with the phone for an introductory period and that I had failed to cancel the subscription I didn't know I had. After 3 attempts in successive months I got the services cancelled and a refund for the charges only to have the subscription started again the following month. It was finally cancelled again after another 2 attempts. 2)I was charged for sending text messages that bounced back undelivered because 3 do not have agreements with certain networks in Europe. I was advised that this was in the process of being set up and 14 months later it still hasn't changed! Again multiple attempts to get this sorted out and a refund was finally made. 3)I tried to cancel my contract on the day the tie-in period ended. 15 minutes later, after explaining why I wanted to walk away and repeating the reasons time after time to the same guy I was advised that I needed to speak to the legal department. After being on hold for over 5 minutes enter mr hard-core salesman. I was asked repeatedly why I wanted to cancel the contract and explained again . . . and again . . . and again my reasons for doing so. I was told I would miss out on super upgrade offers only available because I had been such a wonderful customer. I got bored and decided to pull the guys chain by asking about the great offers. I was informed that if I stayed with 3 they would reward my loyalty with a top of the range handset, a Sony K850i. I sounded thrilled and asked the guy if he could please tell me the model number of my existing phone. The joy in his voice was short-lived. "Of course, sir, it's a . . . erm . . K850i!" For everything else there's Barclaycard!!!!!!!

Unsuccessfully. Conversation can be surreal. Billing problems especially mad in that their systems appear primitive. i was called daily for ages, all over an expired credit card - their system said that the bill was unpaid, however it then showed that they hadn't claimed the money. Put through to a debt collecting agency instaed of customer head quarters! Incompetant. Decent network for the reception and price but aftersales suck!!!!

3 are fine - been with them over 3 years now and have no major issues. I guess it depends on what features people use, I just talk and very occasionally text and my £15 per month tarrif is untouchable in respect of value. India can be hard work but you have to be patient, they do get there in the end. I have found that the staff are (understandably) far more receptive than if you jump up and down, they're human too! When the time has come to upgrade my phone I have accepted the recommended handset which has always been spot on. The best way to avoid probs is to avoid using Carphone Warehouse or any other supplier and buy/deal direct with 3.

I changed from o2 to 3 contract , 6 months ago . i opted for the £15 texter tarrif . For the first few months i was impressed the signal quality , price and the free phone they gave me . It was good until it all went wrong last week . Well the story is i cracked my screen by accident unknowingly . So i went to the 3 store to see if i could get my nokia 6288 fixed they said no because i brought the contract from carphone wearhouse they said i had to go there . When i went there they said go to 3 store , i refused and they grudgingly agreed to fix it at £ 45 for the bit of plastic screen !!!! I decided to refuse again so when i went home i celloteped it up then the cover fell off ! I decided i would have to go to 3 to buy a phone . ( You can only buy 3 payg phones directly from them and they are ridiculously priced )They were out of stock on all the breasonably priced phones but a week later a lg U300 Chocolate arrived and i had that . The network it good but the after sale service is atrocous ! I will cancel my contact when its up >

I have tried most of the top networks on the market on a PAYG basis. Last year I decided to change to a contract and was unsure as which one to choose. A friend introduced me to 3 mobile so I compared all the network deals and tarrifs and discovered that none came clode to 3, so i joined. as i live close to the border with the ROIreland, and regularly travel and work in Southern Ireland, i am really impressed with the free roaming aspect, and generally delighted with the experience at 3 mobile. I would definitly reccommend it to anyone.

iv been with 3 now for about 3 years and iv never had any problem, Coverage is far better then any other network (compared to friends phones/networks etc) and the phones are always upto-date and alot cheaper than most other companies. If you need interent access and music etc its alot cheaper than any other major company around at the min. I must admit that if you try and ring 3 direct you do end up speaking to someone in india but thats nothing to worry about, most major companies have call centres abroad now anyway. As for the shops, well that just like any other mobile shop you go into. If you know what you want and dont let them sell stuff that your not going to use then there wont be a problem. overall good network coverage and good phones and cheaper than any other network.

Outstanding dont you agree! However it is impossible to get such a good deal now .. bit of a bummer but ahh well!

3 offer good value for money compared to the other main networks, especially if you use your phone a lot and like web browsing. I have always found customer services to be helpful when I have called them. You can negotiate a good deal when upgrading I've found, and they now offer a wider range of handsets then when they started a few years ago. I still get some dropped calls when moving from 3g to 2g but overall I find the 2/3g coverage on a par with the other networks (excluding perhaps Vodafone) and 3g coverage has improved greatly and far exceeds the other networks.

I have been with three for 3 years, calls were dropped but since they now use orange instead of 02 as a backup network, coverage is decent. Phones are good but after 14 day cooling off period they are hard work to get fixed if broken, what seems to be the norm is three take the phone back for repair, reboot it, do software updates and send it back without really attempting to fix it. In my experience it is value for money unless u have a complaint. I recently experienced the upgrade automated system and when i rang to ask not to be called continuously, they told me 5 different timescales. In the end i spoke to a manager who said it would be sorted. It wasn't when i rang them to complain further i was called a liar that i hadn't previously spoke to a manager. I then asked them to listen in to the phone calls i had made to them which they did and sheepishly apologized. They do record all phone calls made to customer service, although they don't like it when u ask them to listen to them as they can be difficult to trace. So overall i would say if u don't need a repair or to speak to customer services, choose them. How you will know this quickly is anyones guess. I WONT be using three again, as they have now instructed me I cannot reduce my line rental as since i took out my contract they have changed the rules. I am now dealing with OTELO (their obudsman) over this matter and hope to be able to leave the network forthright without charge DONT USE 3 go else where for lack of stress if nothing else!!

The WORST network on the market!!!! If you experience any problems with your phone after the 14day cooling off period this network basically has a "tough! deal with it" attitude. Coverage is RUBBISH, one minute you have a signal then the next you are cut off. I would reccommend that you go and spend your money on a carrier pigeon rather than choose a phone on this network, it will be more reliable and infinatly easier to understand than the call centre staff! I have had problems with two mobile phones, both unlocking and answering calls without prompting and ringing last dialled numbers in error and although the store I purchased them from are willing to exchange, 3 will not allow it......Its after the magic 14days!!!!!ARGHHHH

So long as you don't go abroad this is excellent. Good value, add full internet for not much, reception is outstanding (it uses o2 at no extra cost if no 3G coverage available, so nearly always have full signal) Value abroad is terrible, calls over £1 per minute, in many places not possible to send picture messages, and GPRS is not avaiable outside UK. The network isnt to bad I would have thought it would have better coverage by now. Upgrading with them is a pain if you like the tarrif your on but want a new phone you have to pay for most of the phones unless you settle for an old model. The customer service is really hard work. If you have a problem with your phone they offer to repair it within 3 days. So your without a phone for 3 days not too bad, but when the phone comes back and nothing has been done what is the point. I'd be on calls for 5 mins then it would cut off. I'd phone 3 and warn them of the problem before getting into a conversation and it would cut off after 5 mins but they couldnt find a problem.

Call holding, waiting, forwarding, 3-way calls, internet, broadband, TV, etc etc. Plus they are pretty cheap on the £25 pm deal (500 mins pre-pay). Unfortunately, I'm now back on T-Mobile :( Recently though, 3 have had issues - expecially with voicemail. I kept being told my voicemail was full... "You have no messages" - Despite this I was still charged for calling the voicemail :( 3 were not keen to refund my wasted credit despite admitting that it was a fault of theirs affecting their entire network.

The Nokia 6120 was fine, but in my nightmare fortnight over 50% of my calls disconected half way through, including important business calls. 3 had me running around having an obviously OK phone checked out to no avail. It was at one of the technical centres that a guy told me that there would be nothing wrong with the phone even before he looked at it! I have had the wors experiance of my life with this lot - DO NOT SIGN UP TO 3 WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!! Here are the reasons: 1. Call-centre in India. Poor lines, hard to understand due to strong accents, cannot help you with anything other than bog standard issues, as they are reading answers off as screed. You might as well have a fully automated service. RUBBISH. 2. Calls gets disconnected at random when the network coverage suddenly disappears. This happens in central London, and not even when surrounded by tall buildings! 3. Poor international network. I cannot get text messages from abroad, unless the person abroad has signed up to ONE specific network that 3 has a deal with. It's the equivalent of only getting calls from people on orange in the UK. It's really not good enough, and creates a masseive problem for me. 4. 3 shops. Staff are generally unhelpful and downright rude if you go in to try and sort out a problem after you have signed on the dotted line. AVOID 3 LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!
