If there was a 0 rating, I would have used it! It really irritates me that 3 Mobile have kept my business for a further two years! I have been with 3 Mobile for quite some years now and as a whole I was always quite pleased with them, until recently! It has come to upgrade time and I was looking at upgrading my iPhone 3g to the new iPhone 4s. After over an hour of negotiating on Friday (yesterday) I agreed to take the 16gb 4s but was then told I would need to wait over a month (yes a month!) to receive my phone! I knew I could go with 02 (my fiancee's network - and one I would always now recommend over 3 Mobile!) and collect the phone on the same day. To keep my business I was told that although I could not get the 16gb handset for a month I could however receive the 32gb 4s the next day with unlimited internet at no further cost. As this seemed a good deal I stupidly agreed to it. Unfortunately the delivery firm told me today that they don't make deliveries on Saturday and it would be Monday when (I will be at work and not at home) the phone will be delivered! I called 3 to complain and they told me that I could receive it on Sunday at extra cost of 19 quid to me! Naturally I said no and requested my PAC code so I could go elsewhere but I was then told that I could not get it until Monday! Basically it was made so hard to leave as the handset is in transit to me that I was more or less forced into staying with 3 for another two years! The customer services department just lie through their teeth and have no respect for their customers whatsoever. I hope that anyone reading this and who is thinking of either moving to 3 or indeed thinking of carrying on with 3 decides to move and go elsewhere. I know that I am stuck with them for another two years but I guarantee that I will not renew my contract with them at the end of this one! I only wish I had done that yesterday rather than be fooled by their lies. My concern now is that I don't get the reduced package that I was offered and agreed to yesterday and that they try and take more money from me than was agreed as they are obviously not to be trusted at all! The customer service department is in India (like a number of other companies such as More Than Insurance who I have also had problems with!) and they just seem to be a law unto themselves there. I work in welfare to work and I know first had how hard it is to find a good job and it really bugs me that they are taking jobs to India when they could recruit people to work in a call centre in the UK where I know that customer service would be far greater and helping the economy as a whole! Sorry for the extra rant there but please consider 02 for your mobile as they offer far greater customer service and employ people in the UK!

Well, for a network and coverage is great, price OK, using abroad is a rip off. So wherever you do not and I repeat do not use it at all as just to give you an idea, to make a call you will be paying £2 per min and receiving £1 per min. I was really lucky that I didn't use mine to much and ended up with an extra bill of £34 on top of my monthly bill. I will never use my phone when I am abroad. So please becarfull and don't get in the same or maybe worse them me by using your phone thinking that they wont charge that much. I've been with other networks for years and never got charged this much so 3 network is a rip off for using abroad.

THREE LIED TO ME. 1)when I bought the phone I was told that when I moved abroad I could just put a new sim in. THEY LIED...I went to by a 3 sim card and was told that even though it was a 3 phone and a 3 sim It was not the same network and I needed to pay to get the phone unlocked. 2) I asked for the lowest tariff when I moved abroad as I understood I could not use my minutes.i was told this was 9 pounds per month. I went to cancel my phone and was told a) the contract had not expired and was much longer than I recall taking out (though i have no proof) and so I agreed to pay the months outstanding and they hit my with an extra monthl handset charge of 7 pounds per month that I had ever heard of and most definitely was NEVER told about. I paid them to get rid of them. Three lied and misled me, don't let them do the same to you.

Great data signal out and about and far better than T mobile and orange for mobile data. I use google navigation all the time on the all you can eat data plan. When it comes to my home location though then its another story. The coverage checker says I should get good outdoor and good indoor coverage at home in Leigh Lancashire. Not so. Cant get a voice call or sms unless I sit in the conservatory which in winter is not appealing. I can only get data via my router at home (not a problem). I work in customer service and they made me so angry I cancelled my direct debit whilst I was talking to the 2nd advisor in their complaints team! My advice go to Ofcom post your issue with them for monitoring and then give them 8 weeks and go to Ombudsman:Communications. They get charged for each complaint they get from the Ombudsman and it also builds up on the monitoring.

I cannot bring myself to go back to 3 a 3rd time no matter how good the deal. Little or no coverage in Canary Wharf and the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. The last time I was mis-sold a tariff and lied to in terms of what it would cover. During the time I was with them, I never had a call to Customer Service that was less than 25 mins... usually most of that time was spent waiting. If your time is more valuable to you than the saving made from a cheap tariff, then avoid the 3 network...

When I spoke to O2 about this (as thought I might need a SIM upgrade) I was fobbed off with some rubbish about number of users etc… I live in the North East and work from about 5 different offices, 3 is the only signal which is strong in all five offices. Bad things: Their call centres, so frustrating. UK when your buying something foreign when you need help. If you have a complex question you may as well just cancel the contract and start again.

Yes, its an Indian call centre, but they have always been more than helpful with me. Tey have refunded charges to me that were legitimate charges as goodwill, waived the costs of upgrades, and always resolved issues favourably and quickly. Coverage seems to be another issue. I live in the sticks in Cornwall and am currently using my iPhone's internet connection as my full time broadban connection as it is quicker than both Virgin and Skys broadband through a telephone line. Im also a coach driver, and travel from Plymouth to Blackpool via London and NEVER have a problem with signal anywhere in the country. I go to Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Oxford, Preston, Blackpool, Exeter, Reading, Bridgwater, Taunton and have decent signal everywhere! £'s current winner of a price plan is the One PLan, which for £35 a month, giv es you virtually unlimited usgae of your phone. I recently moved from T-Mobile who I had been with since the days on One 2 One, I moved fom T-mobile to Three on the One Plan everything sounded great with the deal etc, but as i started using the phone i found that I could not browse many internet sites that I wanted to, the phone kept displaying I needed to verify my age. I completed threes age verification process expecting that this would fix the problem, but it did not. Numerous phone calls and explanations from Three and everything seemed to work as I wanted. Yesterday I got an odd text from them saying I was near my internet limit which is supposedly not limited so I decided to call them to check if there was a problem, they explained just ignore the txt messages and carry on surfing.. while on the phone to them I asked them to check my recent bill which was over the contracted ammount of £37 a month so I asked for explanation and was told it was the BOLT on you had added to your account so you could surf any age restricted internet sites.. I explained to the lady at threes customer service that I had not authorised a bolt on to surf the internet, and expected to be able to surf any internet site I wanted without having to pay additional charges, the lady responded that with Three you can only use PLANET 3 whith the One Plan which is a very restricted version of the internet, ie Three block just about any website that have any offensive word or they deem to be slightly offensive. I explained to the lady at Three that Planet 3 is of no use to me whatsoever and that I do not expect to have to pay an extra £5 per month for 24 months to access sites outside of Planet 3 and this should be explained to people at the point of sale not months into the contract!! After spending severall hours on the phone to them, they have eventually agreed not to charge me for accessing sites outside of Planet Three. Looking on the internet it looks like a lot of other people have also got caught out w ith this one. I definetely think what they are trying to do is a trading standards issue. Last April (2010) I ordered the Galaxy Portal (the first Android from Samsung) from 3 Mobile, I can't remember the deal exactly, I think it was unlimited internet, unlimited text, 300 minutes, free 3 to 3 calls for £25 a month. The reason why I left O2 and bought the specific phone was because I could get 24 months free Spotify Mobile (Premium). I was going to buy the phone online but ended up going into the store because it was an "in store only deal" however when I went in the store the guy just ordered it online through their system. I got the handset didn't really like it actually, really slow, very disappointed with it (I know this is not 3 fault) however obviously now I had it I had to keep it. Again the reason why I choose this phone was for the Spotify deal which did not work on the phone, I went into the store and after an hour of the girl being on the phone to customer services she said it was a problem with actual Spotify and that thy are sorting it out. It still didn't work for a couple of months but eventually it did (after 3 months of having the phone). I began getting bills that where £45, I just thought I had just gone over on call time, however when I called up to ask about it, it turned out they where charging me the £9.99 for Spotify, I told them that I was meant to be getting it free and they did not offer me a refund for the charges but said they would credit me for them ( I think they amounted to £20/£30 or something), they also said that it would not happen again. Low and behold the following bill I received had a £9.99 charge for Spotify, I called them up straight away, and was met by a extremely rude customer service of people who did not know what an earth they where doing, I was told that there was no such deal with 24 months free Spotify and that the deal was actually 2 months free Spotify. I politely told them that this was not the deal as the reason I bought it was for the 24 months free Spotify. After nearly 1 and half hours on the phone to them I was put through to a manager/superior who again was very rude and told me it was MY fault for not letting them know straight away (all this time 3 had not been sending me paper bills, I could only view my bill through my 3 account online and this did not state the full bill, I requested paper bills of everything I had been charged for since the beginning of my contract and thus found out that is was still being charged for Spotify, which I rang up to rectify straight away) I told the m how was I meant to know that I was being charged for Spotify if they where not sending me bills and that I did let them know as soon as I found out. He carried on telling it was my fault and after I threatened to leave he said he would credit me for the money they had charged for Spotify and said it would not happen again. But oh what happened? They carried on charging me for Spotify. A while later I actually lost my phone, I called up to get a new sim and they said they would send me one free of charge (I had moved house since last talking to them and changed my address so the sim would go to the right place) . . . . I didn't receive one. I called up again asking what address they had, they had my old one (which I had told them to change), I told them my correct address again and they said the would send me a sim free of charge, again I never received one. I even went back to my old address to see if one had been sent there, it hadn't. I later went into the shop and asked for a sim, the guy said it would cost me £5 (I was not going to pay this as I was told I could get it for free) I also told them that as I had requested a sim twice and had not received them that i would not be paying any charges over the last few months he said that if I called up and said this they would credit me for the months I had not been using it. During this time I canceled my d irect debit as I did not want to be charged for something I did not have and 3 never sent me any bills for outstanding payments nor called me up (how could they when I did not have a sim!!) That was in November 2010, since then I have been using an old handset and O2 pay as you go sim, it got to the point where I could not afford pay as you go anymore and wanted a new contract. I went into the store and explained what had happened. I told them that I wanted to cancel my existing contract with them as they had not kept their end of the contract, however I actually wanted to take out another one with them because they had the best Iphone deal, he said it was not possible, and if I wanted to cancel my contract I had to pay it off. I said I was desperate for the Iphone and that I really wanted it with them as they had the best deal. He tried to get me to take out a contract with the Iphone and pay both contracts and the same time this would ooonnlllyyy come to £45 a month!! Did he really think that was ok and I could afford that? I am a student for goodness sake on a limited budget!! It ended with me being no better of as nothing had ben rectified. Later I got my mum to call three up (as I was SO fed up with rude customer service and she is better at fighting my case) first of all she spoke to a nice woman who admitted that there where notes on the system stating that I had called up twice and that no sim had actually been sent out! My mum the got put on to someone else who lied to her and told her that there where no notes on the system regarding me calling up about a replacement sim!! They then said that my mum would have to call the cancelation team in the morning. She did and after a long argument with them they said that she would be called back by the manager the following day which did not happen . . . . . Sorry for the length of this but as you can see 3 are TERRIBLE!! They lie just to make money and there is obviously a HUGE lack of communication between the stores and the customer service. I cannot believe how rude they where to me and my mum when they are meant to be providing a service. I no currently have a Iphone (^_^) with an O2 simplicity pay and go sim which I am very happy with. 3 have not contacted me or my mum since they said they would. DO NOT GO WITH 3!! It will be the WORST decision you ever make!!

Avoid this network, the signal is bad no matter what they try to tell you. For example you cannot get signal in the barbican in central London. Despite the fact most other networks can. 3 seems to be full of black spots all over the place. Customer service is terrible, the stores seem to be trained not to give you a loan phone if their one breaks, even if they actually do have them in stock. If anyone does come upto this problem like I did ask to see the records to prove they actually have them at all, as when I did this I turned out they had about 5 in store. The other store master-stroke was when I went in with my again broken phone (it did it on its own nothing I did caused it) and was told I would have to phone the call centre to get it replaced. I told them that my phone is broke and so I could not make calls and they suggested that I borrowed a friends. This really shows how helpful they are. The call centres are just as useless, I recently tried to give my 30 days notice to quit at the end of contract but was not allowed to because it was more than 30 days before, and notice must be give no less than 30 days before and not more than 39 days before and I was 42 days before. I do not know how they came to this number. But apparently leaving is all about judging the exact window of opportunity. But they apparently cannot keep records. Everything is this difficult with them, please avoid.

Had 2 contracts on 3 for 5 1/2 years. I cannot understand the amount of complaints. As one of the reviews mentions maybe it is because of the low perception people have to begin with. Over the same period of time I have had "work" mobile phones on all of the other major networks. For calls and text 3 or O2 were best and for internet 3 was best. With work I have travelled extensively around the UK so I have had good experiences coverage. Where 3 lacks is in the staff training on the technical elements of the phones. Make sure you research the phone you require thoroughly first.

I had been with the 3 network for about five years, in that time I never had a problem with the phones, signals or stores however, after renewing my contract in October 2010 it has been a different story. I am now waiting for my fourth Sony Ericsson X10 to arrive, (after an unpleasant experience in a 3 store) first phone wouldn't send texts, second switched itself off which went for repair three times before they exchanged it for my current X10 which wont connect to WiFi. 3 have refused to change my model of phone or cancel my contract, yes they have attempted to resolve this matter but their customer service is bad. The shop which I went to were completely useless - they were unable to deal with my complaint and kept interrupting when I was trying to explain what was wrong, that I had had enough and wanted the complaints department phone number, plus I didn't appreciate being spoken down too by the young girl working there. It ended up with them almost banning me from the store - what excellent customer service!!! (If they cannot deal with customers who are not receiving the service they are paying for then they should not be working in a shop!!) For your own health and well-being, DO NOT go with this network, I am disgusted with their attitude (mainly the shop) and am considering taking this matter further. PS - why do you not have a 'no star' rating? This company should not be getting even one star from me, and if they even try and make me take out another contract..... they will be told where to go.

I've been with 3 for more than 2 years now. My first 18 month contract was a bit of nightmare when it came to lack of signal and dropped calls. My bills were always quite high but that was due to the phone being used for business. I gave 3 the benefit of the doubt and took out a 2nd contract. This contract was filled with the same problems as before. A big reason why I took out the 2nd contract was because they offered me unlimited internet usage which was ideal for me connecting my laptop when at various client sites. Then last month, I received a bill of £110 and on closer inspection saw that they charged my £32 for internet usage. When I called them up, they said that my internet usage was unlimited based on their fair usage policy. This was the first time I heard of this policy. It eventually came to light that my internet usage was not unlimited but rather capped by 1G. If I knew this was the case, I wouldve signed up with another provider. Needless to say that I've had to pay the bill and payed up my contract for the remaining 6 months. In conclusion, 3 sucks!

They used to have good reception when they used some towers rented from O2 or something. Since they stopped this I have not had reception at all. When I finally got reception (1 bar at the end of my road) they told me the reason the reception was so bad was that they had stopped using other networks towers. So to save renting towers they have kicked their customers between the legs. Very sad! I have been with 3 since 2004 and i must say i can't understand why people slate this network. Ok, they may have an Indian call Centre but how does this make things difficult. I have never had an issue in being able to get what i want from 3 and customer service is never a problem. They always call back as promised and always look after your problem. I have only ever had one issue with coverage and this was in my home back in March 2010. I logged it with 3 and was told the problem would be monitored and looked into. Got regular calls from 3 over a 2 week period giving me updates on the work that was being carried out on a faulty mast. Was even given a bill credit for the services issues i was having. The deals are just unbeatable and there is alot of flexibility and choice. I really would recommend 3 to anyone and really do not understand why people have issues with them. I think some people need to give them a chance and be patient with them. I think because people's perception of 3 are low to begin with that they expect the worst when trying them out.

Great services - Planet 3 is excellent - and generally good value for money on a contract or PAYG. Coverage is also very good - in London anyway. Embedded Skype particularly is a godsend and almost enough of a reason in itself to choose/defect to 3. For these reasons 3 deserves a 5-star rating. However I also had a 3 Skypephone on which I'm sure that 3 sent an over-the-air update to deliberately disable Skype after my phone warranty had expired, I think as their unethical way to force me to upgrade the phone to a new model (Moral: DON'T buy any 3 Skypephone as 3 has shown it can disable Skype on its phones at whim). I also don't like the way 3 always lock their phones to their network (a nasty business practice) and then want to charge you more than £30 to unlock them. I also don't like how 3 insist on branding their phones (frankly, the 3 logo is ugly and makes me feel like a begrudged slave of theirs whenever I switch on my phone and see the start-up screen). Next thing I know a parcel has arrived and after a probing phone call, discovered they had signed me up to a brand new 18 month contract without my permission. It took 2 months of constant calling, legal consultation and eventually withdrawal of payments to finally convince them that they had no audio or written evidence of my consent, therefore cannot force me to abide by their terms and conditions. Oh but they still insisted I pay for the phone to be returned to them too. Further conversation convinced them that if they didn't want their new phone back and weren't prepared to send a pre paid parcel envelope, then I would happily sell it. Self addressed, pre paid return envelope arrived the next day. Point I want to make is that their sales and customer service team are amoral, lying sharks.
