Reviewed by Salvador Munoz-Vinas on 06-02-2004 The iPaq2210 is a nice, quite solid PDA, though not as strong as, say, the fully metallic Palm Tungsten T3. IMHO the 2210's most outstanding feature just cannot be easily explained: it 'feels' extremely well in my hands, and the nav pad is very, very comfortable to use -though I know that this is quite personal, and you could 'feel' otherwise... My advice is that you check this in the shop, especially if you are a little more picky than normal (which, for some reason, is quite frequent among PDA users). If you do, you will know what I mean. The screen is good, though again not as good as those truly amazing higher resolution screens found in the Tungstens or the Clies. Well, my iPaq 1930 --which, alas, is too small for me for convenient handling-- has a better screen, with much deeper colors. Speed? Everyone talks about the speed of the 400MHz processor, but in normal use I simply cannot notice the difference with the 200MHz 1930. I do not need the Bluetooth capabilities, but they are there, just in
case. I really like the Compact Flash slot, since my digital camera is a Nikon, so that I can easily check how bad my pictures actually are. In all: I have just left my Tungsten T3, and I am still pondering if returning to the 1930 or stick with the 2210. If you are about to buy a Pocket PC, the 2210 is quite a good, elegant choice. Tiny, but not uncomfortable, elegant, and very convenient in normal use. However, if you do not need the CF slot, the 1940 (a 1930 plus Bluetooth) is probably a more sensible choice -unless you do not mind the slightly too small size, and the worse nav pad arrangement. You know, the problem of having two equally good options is that you have to choose. Rating:
