I bought this Phone Last year, and up until now other than the ocassional freezing it had been a good investment however i have now experienced problems with the layout which goes very dim and comes up with lots of coloured lines and taking pictures is no longer quick and easy as the colour turns a bluey, greeny on the screen even though there is no problem with the camera. Although it is still "usable" its not something I want to deal with day in and day out and has completely put me off the phone. I would strongly advise not to buy this phone because your almost guaranted a problem.

at first sight the phone looks great, feels great but after a few months, it starts to fall apart. The first problem i had with the phone was a screw behind the navigation pad coming off and making the phone unable to slide down. The second problem was an os system error which cause the phone to automatically shut down and stop sending sms out. The worst problem is if the ealier os prob is left unattended, the entire phone will stop working and it wont even start up after a sudden shutdown. I dont recommend this phone at all so for those who still want to but this phone, buy it at your own risk, the repair cost will cost you more than the phone itself

I have w910i and it never freezed or something like that. I have it almost 2 years and i have to say it is really great phone. The phone still looks great and i dropped it like million times (i am really clumsy :]) I have 4gb card and i have a lot of pictures, music and stuff and i have no problems (like i said) with freezing, shutting down surprisingly... This is one of the best phones i had. And i HAVE to say it is not expensive mistake because me and my 4 friends have the same phone and no one had problems with it. I like music phones so this seems like a great phone for me.

This phone is lovely looking . But the only problem is that a red light comes on at the back of the phone then it decides to turn its self off . I am now looking for another phone.

I have had my phone sinse last Christmas and it was alright for the week or so but then it started shuting it's self down, sometimes in the middle of calls. It got rapidly worst now i can bearly get through a text without it vibrating, the screen going blank and it shutting down by it's self. An absoult piece of rubbish!

I find my Phone tends to freeze and reset often. but this stops when you remove your memory card and turn the fone off and on. only downfall is the problem persists when you re-insert the memory card

freezes all the time very poor camera and music quality is not great considering it is a walkman phone. I seem to have problems with the speaker and the voice breaks up when recieving a call or playing music. Definately overpriced and will not buy another SE phone

poor phone , some nice features. too many faults and signal problems on most sony ericsons i have owned. w810i feels alot better than this in the hand . i wouldnt buy a sony again ...nokias and samsungs all the way . very unreliable.

Got the phone a year ago, thought it was ok... but ive had problems from it all the time, freezing, resetting itself, screen not turning on. the buttons to text with are horrible and take ages to get used to. My conclusion is dont buy the phone!

NEVER GET THIS PHONE! It has been a pain from the start...turned itself off randomly almost the next day I got it...button failure have rendered it useless and have had it in for repair 4 times in 18 months...very unsalble. Its a pity because when its working it has a lovely feel and great looking software...but BEWARE!

I don't see why people are giving this so many stars. It is riddled with bugs and faults. SE messed up bigtime. I had one of these for a year, and I've counted around 100 faults already. Don't even touch this thing with a sledgehammer.

You can describe this phone in several ways none of them good, but best of all it can be summed up with these words: Inactive SIM Operation Failed Other than that the phone gives more problems than it's worth, and no amount of firmware updates seem to resolve the problem.

THIS IS THE WORST PHONE IN THE WORLD EVER CREATED I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN SUFFER ANOTHER MINUTE AS THE OWNER OF THIS PHONE. It freezes all of the time, the red video light comes on, and then the screen goes blank and you cannot interact with the the phone AT ALL until it decides to come out of this jamming frenzy Sometimes I turn it on, and it will tell me that I have an inactive SIM, and will start this jamming proccess again. The backlight on the phone is also unstable and frequently changes between being insanely bright and dim. For a phone that is deemed a music phone, the speakers are shite. The sound is tinny. Indeed. Sometimes, the phone starts acting of its own accord, and randomly clicks on things I DO NOT WANT IT TO CLICK ON. The buttons also mess up, I am a very kind soul and often put "x"'s at the end of my text messages. However, the 9 button on this phone, often decides to act as the "back" button, meaning you cannot send a decent text. Oh, also, I put some new games on my phone. These worked fine for a short period of time, but then, in true Sony Ericsson form, it all went down the shitter. The games duplicated themselves so I had 16 copies of each, none of which would actually open, or delete. AVOID THIS PHONE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I am currently updating the software on my phone. It is in the process of installing, and has seemingly JAMMED, as per usual, meaning this phone is now totally useless, as if it wasn't in the first place. I cannot wait to get a new phone so I can smash this lump of shit at the bastard who sold it to me as hard as I possibly can. DO NOT BUT DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY, I cannot stress this enough,

Several very big problems with this phone: 1. The freezing everyone else reported for this. 2. The patch Sony recommended to fix this froze my computer before I even transferred the patch to the phone. 3. After the patch download I kept being invited to fill in stupid questionnaires by Sony which included questions about whether I consider the phone to have improved my image (yeah! my friends really dig me having a phone that freezes!) 4. The connection to the USB cable/charger became loose v. quickly, making data transfer and recharging v. difficult (had to balance the phone precariously otherwise the loose connection meant the phone wouldn't charge or talk to the PC). 5. This phone doesn't talk to Apple Mac computers as easily as with PCs. Major flaw: lots of people have Macs. Conclusion: avoid this phone.

I thought it was me ...the reason why it kept switching itself off ...undeterred i soldiered on to find it switched itself off in the middle of a message.then it would wirr and switch itself off in the middle of someone sending me a message...by chance a work colleague has one to and guess what hers does the same to ....If i could id put it in the bin ..dont buy it

Firstly, I would like to say to people - stay away from this phone! One of the worst aspects I've ever encountered with a mobile phone is the phone's tendency to turn off and then on again every now and then. Whats worse is that when it turns back on it goes unlocked so it might end up ringing someone accidently, also it drains about a fifth of the battery, so nowadays when it does it about 4 or 5 times a day there's practically no battery left. It's awful, why make a phone like this? Though I've heard that it can be fixed by going through a long process of updating it, you really shouldn't have to do that with a phone. I've had it for a year and I regret getting it. Onto the camera, its okay for the odd photo but its not good if youre really into phone photo taking, the focus is rubbish, the zoom is rubbish and pictures can be really blurry if youre not too careful. The video recording feature is actually better, theres a better zoom (but it doesnt zoom smoothly). On the plus side however, it looks fantastic, the screen is stylishly-big (not too big though) and the chrome-style d-pad looks really cool. The sliding motion still works fine after a year. The screen gets hardly affected by glare. I don't use the music feature so I cant comment on that. Ooh also it can be very very laggy at times. I doubt that these sort of phones are still on the market now, I can see why. But if you are considering buying one, youre gonna have to be very paitient with it because it can be a real nuisance most times.

i hate this phone so much. and what's more is that it's on a 24 month contract so i have to live with it. i constantly text and when i'm in the middle of a important, long text it decides to turn itself off. now the buttons aren't working. i am very very dissapointed, i hate this phone so much. don't ever get this phone under any circumstance, its the most unreliable thing i have ever had.

I love the radio features on this phone, there's great sound and its easy to use. As stated above my only problem is that the phone frequently switches off or freezes, which has interefered with important/urgent calls. However the back cover which is attached by a small and easily moved locking device often comes loose. Which resulted in my back cover eventually falling off and we having to find a new phone! Glad I read this review, I thought I was the only unfortunate one!!

I hate this phone!! Bought it in Jul 07! It shuts down then resets but then it says "inactive sim" then ur battery goes from 100% to 40%. When i want to let people that im at certain places it crashes when u are in a phone call so why sell it if it has these faults!!!!!! WASTE OF 100 QUID!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this phone in 2009 june. I checked through a lot of magazines and thought that this might be a good phone. So I by it. Phone started freezing and shutting down after 3 months (still worked). Now after 5 months I charge it and nothing happens. my brother also has a sony ericcson so i tried to charge it with his charger. did not work. Now I am buying a new battery. For any one who wants to buy this phone I recomand choosing a more reliable phone. Thanks for reeding my message. manu

i hate this phone it always freezes and restarts itself an stupid times. i replaced the handset like 4 times and they're all the same which is a shame because i really like the look of this phone and it very easy to use. the camera is good in bright light but rubbish at night when there is very little light.

Very bad phone: Bought it in jan 2008 , since then constant crashes (restarts, turn-off s), software bugs, after few months of use the charging/hands free connector broke. And guess what because the phone was bought in France, sony ericsson UK doesn't want to service it! As I travel a lot I tried to get it serviced many times in few other EU countries with no success. Despite the fact that the warranty is 2 years service in any EU country, provided it was bought in any EU country! Never again Sony, will use my old NOKIA! P.S. In france I've been refused service as well because obviously Orange-France (I bought it from them) didn't issue me the right type of receipt accepted by SE. I don't know how but NokiaCare were able to provide me with a marvelous service without any proof of purchase - just by giving them my Name and the phone's IMEI

Now had this phone for two and a half years without problem. great music phone can take reasonable snaps, it rins I answer, I talk. Or I press the buttons someones phone rings again I talk. This is the first phone out of five different ones that I have owned that conects to the PC and fully cominucates as expected. Great phone would buy another if I could guarentee It works as well as the one I have?

I bought this phone, just over a year ago, it's the most money I ever spent on a phone, but I really liked it and thought it was worth it! Now it reguarly turns itself off - up to 20 times a day, and not only that when it turns back on it often comes up "inactive sim" and re starts again, it also quite often after re starting decides i've gone from 80% battery to 20% .. .very annoying when i'm not at home to charge it up! All in all if you buy this phone you will be dissapointed.

Had this phone 13 months now. Rarely turns itself off, but it does. Slider stopped working due to a screw (Internal) coming loose and getting caught - I know 3 people who have had this problem. I found all the buttons on the side of case too small. Trouble hearing people if they are on hands free.

I HATE THIS PHONE. INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS DOWN. THE LITTLE RED LIGHT COMES ON, THE PHONE VIBRATES, SCREEN GOES BLACK AND IT RESETS. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I have had the phone for about a year now and it constantly turns its self off and freezes about 10 times per day. The phone recently got hard to slide up but i took it back and they fixed the problem by screwing a screw back into place but five days later it happend again and now just recently the screen lifts up and the buttons keep falling out. Also the phone likes to delete contacts three times since i have had the phone it has cleared my contact list.

honestly rubbish phone. it freezes constantly as in at least 10 times per day, when it freezes its screen goes blank and you cant access anything for about a minute it then comes on but says searching for network before turning off again, this repeats at least twice until u can actually use the phone. messages often arent sent properly and twice messages have refused to be sent and sat in outbox with me not being able to delete them and with them stopping me send other messages. the slide on it has now got jammed meaning it is difficult to slide up and down and previously the slide gets hard to move when its cold. i arent over protected of my phone and it has lasted except for stupid problems, music photos ect are all great but the problems are just too annoyuin

it shuts down when it feels like it, constantly freezes, slow when music is playing and ur trying to use other features. I've always had ericssons and this is the only one thats ever given me a problem. Its been in for repairs 5times!! Only had it for a year and im careful with my phone.Awesom features just wish the thing would function long enough to use them all properly. Ericsson needs to bring out something fantastic and the owners of this phone should be compensated coz this has cost me a fortune!

I have had this phone for about 9 months. Yes it does turn its self off, but that rarley happens. -> Its Great for music -> Video play back good.. -> Camera very good, when its out side its outstanding inside not as great but, just change it to night mode. -> Its easy to text -> Its a really good phone and all the features work great!!

I have had this phone for just under a year. DO NOT BUY IT, I REPEAT, GO NOWHERE NEAR THIS PHONE. It is the worst phone i have ever owned. The major software fault on all w910i's means that mine turns itself off around 6 times a day. Sometimes more. It turns off halfway through a call, while texting,..anytime. It is the biggest waste of money. I thought i would be fine and that the fault must just be a glitch. I was wrong, everyone with this phone who i know has had the same issues. DO NOT BUY.

I have this phone on a contract and have already had one replace due to it freezing and shutting down. My replacement is now doing the same thing. I never have any reception and it's sometimes impossible to make a phone call! Even when I do the other person can't hear me and then the phone crashes as usual. I have requested another replacement but will just get the same model again which will eventually have the same problems! Not good.

Terrible. The most trouble I have ever had with a mobile phone. All electrical products can have faults but usually can be repaired - Not with this phone! It was reported by carphone warehouse on three separate occasions that my phone had software problems and was given software updates. After which it continued to freeze and when turned off, would not turn on again! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IF YOU WANT A PHONE THAT CAN MAKE TELEPHONE CALLS!!!

Wow... After reading the reviews, its seems like everyone is having problem with this phone! I seem to have to problem with it so far and I have been using this for 6 months. It doesn't freeze like everyone says and even when it says invallid sim, it doesn't turn off! it only uses abt 2-4% when you leave it for abt 2 hrs(?) without using it...

I agree, the phone shuts down from time to time and it is VERY ANNOYING at times, the problem surfaced about 6-7 months after the buy, and most ppl i knw with this handset have the same problem, my best guess is that it is a manufacturing defect. Other than that, other features are normal nothing fantastic! I remember that when i got it first i was happy couse i could use it like a walkman, and yes i still can but i think better phones are available now, i dont think anyone should be bent on this phone, there is better available at hand. cheers!

I love this phone, looks awesome and is really good phone. Dont use it for music :( but i like the camera and when it works it is awesome. The one thing i hate with this phone is the same reason this is my last SE phone is the red light of death i get. Most times i turn it on and i need it to work it turns itself off and the red light flashes in the back of it and it reboots several times then loads... Would not recommend SE to anyone to be honest.

i would advise people to not buy this phone it's an awful make it looks nice and pretty but it freezes non-stop and when you're using it about 7 times a day the screen goes this dark blue colour and freezes and it's not just me who gets this problem it's all my friends who also have this phone they all want to chuck it out the window. The phone also says inactive sim and then turns off and then it's not even the wrong sim card. The phone also has very bad battery life, I charged it yesterday and today it has turned off because it doesn't have any battery. awful phone I would advise NOBODY to get this phone, you might not believe what I'm saying but it's true and you will be wasting money.

I have this phone. No insurance. I have had it for almost a year. I've have not had any problems with freezing or turning itself off. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it. At all. Until tonight... I was on the phone to a friend and the phone was on the open position. I hung up from speaking to them and now it won't slide closed. I cant see anything jamming it open and I haven't dropped it. What the hell ericsson?!?

this is the worst phone i had ever used. it restart automatically some times when i listening musics or readin or sending messages. also the n/w signals are very weak compare to nokia mobiles, in elevators or close room it never show n/w while i nokia is good.

i was amazed when i saw this phone. and i was so happy to get ti. had to send it back to sony ericson once. got it back a bout a month later. and it freezes the walkmen is very slow when playing a song. always turns itself out. i love the internet and the keypad though. otherwise. id give it like a 6/10

i love sony ericsson phones as they have everything you need, but they ARE so unreliable in every sense. i got a c905, 8mp camera, it was a excelent camera and phone but it kept braking an turning it self off! i believe this is a problem with ALL SONY ERICSSONS :( IF THEY SORTED THIS ISSUE OUT THEY COULD POSSIBLY BE THE BEST PHONES AROUND :)

When I bought this phone I thought Wow! this is fantastic, But barely a few months down the line It started crashing and shutting down intermittently the battery lost full charge within two days, the slider worked loose and just a few weeks back the screen went, Sent for repairs and within THREE DAYS the screen went again! Great for gimics and gizmos but the worst phone I have ever had...Even my old Phillips Savvy was better.

I've put up with mine for a year and a half - worst phone I've ever bought! Freezes at any opportunity, switches off and a red light appears on the back - this happens generally, or when you try to send/recieve some texts... and sometimes cuts out while im on the phone! Gets scratched quite easily, the camera's not that decent and the screen gets dirty so you're constanrly cleaning it. Overall not a good make of phone, I know about 8 people with this phone who all said the same thing happens with their phone!

Its Great wen ya first get it, but me nd 5 otha mates have had this phone nd for all of us it froze up, turned off nd often freezes up unless u have a huge amount of spare memory, and within 10 months all of us have had the screens crack causing the phone to become unuseable, great to start but eventually becomes useless

I got the W910i in Pink on Christmas '09. It is good but not great, a lot of things wrong with it. it reboots when it wants to and when your in the middle of doing something, it doesn't save. It's so akward! also, alot of the time, it says 'Inactive Sim' and i have to take out the sim and put it in again! I do not recomend anybody buying this phone as there are better ones out there. I Also believe the camera is not great, it only works in the right light. Also the 'Night Mode' is not good. i have to have it on all the time because the camera is crap! However, the 3G internet is extremely fast and the video camera is perfect. Also the Sound quality on calls is perfect and can be adjusted because it is quite loud! also the walkman is fantastic. But there are too many things wrong with it to recomend on buying. Never had this problem on Sony Ericcsons Before, So I might plan on Buying the W995 instead.

My W910i Freezes for around 10 second then the screen goes blank but they keypads stay lit up. it does this sometimes up to twice a day. i sent it away to be repaired as i was told it was a software fault. when i got the fone back it was fine for a few days. then the problem continued. at which point i decided to buy a Nokia N95

Terrible phone!Do not buy!Bought it about 6 months ago and has been causing trouble ever since!After a week it started restarting over and over again which after a while gets really annoying!And just about a month ago the screen completely blacked out.It still turns on but cant see anything!!!Waste of money!

This would be a great phone if it worked proper i only had it 3 weeks before it started to switch on & off all the time im now on my second handset & it's worse cant wait until i can get a new phonea allthough im not sure what to phone to get i dont think it will be another sony ericsson

When I first got this phone, I really liked it. It was good looking, easy to use and cheap. As soon as id had it for a year it kept braking down and freezing. I know a friend with this phone who has similar problems. I still have it and it's more annoying than ever!!

This phone is absolutely terrible. The buttons are tiny and awkward to use, the camera is mediocre at best, it constantly freezes and shuts itself down, and I've had to do a master reset twice now due to it randomly refusing to send texts or calls. Sony Ericsson make cute looking phones, but you're better off buying something like a Nokia or Samsung.

Got this phone about a year ago, pretty good, and everything on it is really good, but it often freezes, and the camera has no flash. Doesn't break easily, dropped it about a million times, from a bunk bed onto wooden floor, dropped from the car onto pavement, its pretty indistrucable. Walkmans not that great, when playing from the phone, it sounds tinny and not of a high quality, but all in all, a good phone.

If you're having problems with your phone i.e. switching off, freezing etc, you need to update the software (done by the programs that were supplied with your phone). I did that after i had problems and mine is fine now. Try this before sending it off! Now i want to know how to unlock it so i can use it on o2 (cause vodaphone is WAY too expensive for me!!!!!)

I had this phone 4 just over 2 years on contract.I had sent it back 6 times within about 8months.It keeps reseting at least 4times a day which i keep loosing contacts and pics.The lights flash when ever they want to the music player changes screen whenever it wants to.Overall i would not recommend this phone at all.

This phone is great, good camera, music player an messaging service. However, this phone turns off constantly! When i text, have or make a phone call, when im playing music! All the time, its a pain because you can't do anything with it for ages after. I would not recomend this phone as when i sent it back to sony ericsson they said they could not fix the probelm even though it had been like it from day 1. This phone is a total waist of money.

this phone is bad. it keeps turning on and off by itself as though its being possessed, VERY LOUSY! it refuses to charge despite my gruelling efforts. with this, i've since lost trust in sony ericsson. i dont think this phone deserve even half a star with the tech issues!

To be fair this phone is an ok phone it does what it says on the box... well at least it did until about 3 months after purchasing it. The phone started randomly reseting itself it would vibrate the screen would go blank and the little red light on the back next to the camera would shine. I could handle that it would only do it on rare cases and only lasted about 20 secs at a time. It got worse after about another month, now it shuts itself down and doesnt turn back on and when i do manage to get it alive again all of the times and dates have reset to the factory settings. I absolutely hate this phone and i advise everyone thinking about buying one to seriously reconsider. Thankfully i am now on the verge of getting the samsung jet on orange..... can't wait.

Had this phone for one week, it then froze, went black. I turned it off and on again and the text on my screen went crazy. Turned it off again and it then wouldn't turn on. But the light on the camera was red. Got it repaired, but a week later when I was deleting texts it froze and refuses to turn on again. Wasted a lot of money on this phone. I now use my year and a half old Sony Ericsson 580i with most of the buttons working as it's still more reliable than this load of rubbish.

I am a great fan of Sony Ericsson phones but since un-locking the W910i, it's not been the same. Not sure if it's a fault with the un-locking shop I used or wot but can't send or open pic messages anymore and it won't send multiple texts. Lovely style of phone but like other reviews have said, I find it very difficult to hear when on a call, even with sound up at max.

I bought this phone for my son. He loved it and was really careful with it. After 7 months it just died - apparently "rusted from the moisture in the air", would you believe?! Phone company would not fix it under warranty. Independent repairer said it was not worth fixing. An expensive mistake indeed. I won't buy another Sony Ericsson

I got this phone as I have always thought Sony delivered good quality phones - however the W910i is the exception! My phone has 'frozen' (turned itself off and the red light above the camera comes on) 5 times in the past 10 mins!! I could be in the middle of a call, or writing or a text or even just turning off an alarm and it just stops working!!!!! It is a daily occurrence!! Judging by the other reviews, I can expect this problem to get worse. Looks like its back to my old phone! I do will NOT be recommending this phone to anyone! If you have got one, make sure it is insured and has a warranty!!!!

i thought this phone was great at first, but when i put songs on there it started to crash. now it has become really bad and resets it self up to three times a day or crashes for ages. i do not recomend this phone and will not be buying sony ericsson phones again.

I bought this phone December 2008, I then had loads of problems starting January 2009 I tried to take it back but they said there was no problem. I had now sent it to be repaired and it is awaiting a part and has been for more than 2 weeks. This phone Froze and turned itself off more than twice a day. I regret ever getting this phone and want to get rid of it as soon as possible. Previously i had the LG Chocolate which also had lots of faults so i chose this phone as a reliable one which wouldnt let me down, i couldn't have been more wrong. This is a rubbish phone DONT BUY!

Great phone with fantastic sound quality, a nice little web browser, some useful standard apps and a pleasant to use interface. The phone is also small, light and fits easily in your pocket. Why one star? I think on average I get about 2 or 3 crashes a day (sometimes more!), the phone is ridiculously slow to respond (e.g. spell a word wrong in a text and you're given a full screen "word not recognised message" for what seems like absolutely ages), sometimes says it calling someone and then fails to after 30 seconds of the "calling..." message, the signal is poor compared with other phones, and finally it takes about a minute or two to start up from cold. Without doubt the most unreliable and unresponsive phone I've ever owned. Terrible! PS - my girlfriend's 910i does all of the above as well. Crashing constantly seems to be a standard design feature of this phone...

its a good phone for music but the speaker seems to break alot ive broke it 3 times this means that u can hear them talking but the person your trying to talk to can't hear you.but ive dropped it over and over again there seems to be no cracks on the screen.its good if you like to listen to music on the go.out of 10 ill give it a 8

Terrible phone-Dont get it - Since I've got it I've no phone - It's not reliable cause it's shutting down and freezing all the time. Shake control doesnt work, it's shaking by itself and many times people calls and it seems shut down. Camera is ok.

got mine and was very happy untill bout few days later when it started to randomly crash, half way thought writin a text or as i recieve one, or just randomly in my pocket. pictures will randomly not load and sometimes it will refuse to send a text, only good thing bout sonys is that turning it off and on again usually fixes it

At first the w910i phone was an absolute gem.music was good, and everything about it was impressive. Unfortunately, it only lasts for about 7 months. First off all it started to switch off unexpectedly about 3 times a day, then switched theme ??? Secondly it switched off resetting simple data like date and time.I have the latest software update but still it continues to fail. thanks for reading

I am a 15 year old girl here to give a scathing review to this phone. 1st of all, the phone easily scars. With a single drop, this phone will shut off and refuse to restart again. The quality of of the battery is terrible and it loosens extremely, and I repeat, EXTREMELY easily. I myself have spent half an hour trying to get my phone to start.And mind you, this was during a time when I had to make an emergency call to my mum due to some family matters. Imagine being unable to contact your family members at such a crucial point in time. Also, this phone, upon startup, will say, " Inactive Sim card" and this prompts the phone to restart. I can deal with this happening maybe 1, or 2 or maybe even 10 times. However, this has occurred far too often, even to the point of restarting a total of 16 times from the time I 1st pressed the startup button. The loose phone jack connected to the phone also ensures that the earpiece, once connected to the phone, will fall out in a m atter of 30 seconds. This therefore gives a poor quality sound system, despite the fact that it has been named a 'Walkman' phone. Overall, I feel that this phone is a waste of money. However, I have not lost trust in Sony Ericson and can only pray that it is only this model, W910i, that harbours these problems.

This is the worst phone it freezes, the buttons stop working and it restarts all the time. It's a great looking phone but seriously don't bother SE won't help you out if you have problems and you are BOUND to as there are so many examples of people having trouble with freezing etc. Fair warning, don't waste your time!

It is a very good phone to start off with. The camera sometimes goes a bit off. But just slap it and it goes back to normal. It turns off in the middle of things. But most of the time I leave my phone and when i go and get it, it has automatically turned off. Holds about 200000 songs.

I really like the phone and got it on contract with orange. Its music player is loud and all of its functions are great. The shake button for music control is in an awkward position on the top of the phone and there are some pointless buttons such as open items and go to. Also i am now on my third replacement phone is 3 months as the handset resets itself approx. 5 times a day and freezes a lot. Good phone but too many faults.

When i first got my phone it was great, there was no problems but then after about the first month, i started to have issues.I have had mine just under a year and it is already messed up. It freezes and turns it self off about 15 times a day. The bluetooth has decided to stop working and so has the video call, it just comes up with a black screen. The speaker crackles when you are recieving a call or text and when playing music and when it is in vibrate mode on silent it makes a funny crackle noise also. I thought sony ericsson phones were supposed to be good, but this phone is a fail.

When I got this phone I was so pleased, but it started switching itself off then wouldn't switch on again. I just thought that it was connection problems but it just kept happening even in the middle of taking a call or recording a video.All of the features suit me perfectly and the camera is good at 2.0 megapixel. The sould is great as it is a walkman. I would and wouldn't advise this phone.

I bought this phone earlier this year. It restarts all the time! Like 4 times a day. My other friends who have the same phone have the same problem, and one of them still does it even after she got it fixed. Its a waste of money. The other features are cool though, like the mood sensor and shake button for the walkman. The headphones break really easily. I wouldnt recommend this phone for anyone to buy

I agree with this review, i got this phone with my contract about 6 months ago, and after about 2 weeks it started shutting down, freezing and everything. I would strongly advice NOT getting it, its a good phone if only the software was better. It was a huge dissapointment as i have never had any problems with sony ericsson before, butt he problmes with this phone outway all of those.. it probably turns off at least 5/10 times a week. Yesterday it turned off 4 times in a row.

As a phone, it looks nice and the walkman and cameras not bad. HOWEVER!! the speakerphone is sooo quiet! and the loudspeaker is quiet and tinny. And it really does switch itself off ALL THE TIME even in the middle of calls and txts!! It also sometimes doesnt send txts! Im so dissapointed, whats the point of having a good phone if its always switching itself off and freezing!!

Ive been using an SE K300 phone for three years and I was amazed of its durability. I was forced to replace it when it was stolen. Then I saw the SE W910i. And since my first durable phone is an SE, I thought this phone has the same durability. I got this Sony Ericsson W910i phone for 5 months already. At first impression, it was cool and meets all my expectations especially its slim and light weight design but now I'm disappointed. First, it kept turning off by itself. I really don't know why. Second, it is slow especially when you got so many files in the memory card. And everytime you turn on your phone, it keeps updating even if there are no files added to the memory which is too much hassle. Third, overheating, it seems like mine overheated and just as I was to take the battery off, all power seems to surge in the front buttons. The buttons lighted up orange then the lights blew up I think as it never lit again. Fourth, somehow when the phone's gotten old and you keep sliding the front, the buttons in the front seems to disconnect. Now, my phone seems to be worthless. Man, I hate this phone now. I think I'll switch to Nokia or some other brands and give'em a shot.

good phone it does crash but not if just used as a normal phone. ive experienced phone freeze ups & auto restarts usaully during apps, internet browsing you can usaully sense tht its about to crash coz it slows down in response. first 6 months of purchase it worked great no problems although i cant even update it using update service dont quite know why. Apart from low quality camera, loudspeaker and the random freeze ups its a good phone 3/5.

You should not buy this phone, it's a very nice phone and a few weeks after buying it i though it was the best phone ever, but it isn't because it has a very annoying habit of restarting itself for not apparent reason. When you've had it for nearly a year (like i have) the restarting gets worse, it does it atleast 3 times in a row which is very inconvenient. I would recommend the SE W595 as my sister has this phone and it is very good, it offers more, although it is a bit more money but it is worth it and as far as I know it has not given her any problems. In the end it will be your choice, but please bear this in mind as before I got it I was reading reviews that said it kept restarting and had been sorted out but that was not the case.

This phone has been nothing but a problem since day one for me if it's not turning itself off at inapproaite moments then it won't turn on at all and then theres the problem of when it does power up that it has lost everything in the phone and you can't access the phone book or any music /photos that are stored I am really disapointed with this phone as thought it would be an inprovement from what i would normally have gone for as for the quality on playback for the misic it's ok but not what i was expecting unless you have it on fairly high then the quality is pretty poor and i'm not one for blasting my ear drums each time i want to listen to the music I have now decided enough is enough i am changing to what hopes to be a better phone

This phone is totally rubbish!!!!!! I bought this phone for my daughter and now i wish i hadn't..... it freezes, the time & date changes plus many other problems. I have taken the phone back to phones4u shop 4 times, its been sent off 4 times. Each time they said they fixed the problem plus updated the software. I have now recived a replacement phone and this one has just frozen. So neadless to say i will be going back to the shop to insist on a different phone.

Rubbish phone. Tied in to 18 month contract has been sent back 4 times already. Having problems with the speaker. I couldn't hear anyone on the phone but they could hear me. Been replaced with a new one but keeps turning itself off. Stay clear don't buy it. Switch to something else.

I bought this phone in january 2008 with a old firmware so it kept on jamming and restarting BUT after I installed the R1FA035 firmaware the phone got a lot better.Now it doesn't jam at all and I'm really happy that i changed the firmware

I got this phone and everything else is great except that it just randomly freezes, and shuts down. This is really annoying because when yoju switch it on again all your settings have been changed and youu have to reset your theme. Also the camera isn't great and doesn't have a flash which would make the phone even better. This Ones a bit of a let down sony

This phone is terrible. i got mines for xmas and within 2 months it had been sent away for repair 4 times. 1 - it froze all the time 2 - froze again 3 - microphone wouldnt work at all 4 - froze and kept putting itself off wouldnt recomend it to anyone !

I had the w910i for 18 months and it was a really good phone. The only problem was that it turned itself off constantly!!! i would be in the middle of a text, a game , a call or not even using the phone and it would switch off! other than that it is a good phone, i had a few in my time with it but they survived being thrown out a first floor window onto concrete, being dropped in BBQ sauce and being dropped in spaghetti bolognese! The battery life is very good with high usage and it is very easy to use. I would reccommend this phone if you are patient and can deal with it turning off !

i think the w910i is a good phone, thow it shuts down sometimes.not very often.you mustn'n fill the phone's memory,only the card memory.this way it works faster.The phone shuts down when you change the theme very often.good musik thow.

well,,i've had this phone for a while now and my contract finishes this month. I have found no problems with this phone you just need to look after it. it is a very good phone as it features like 3g and high sound quality as it is a walkman phone the only problem i've found is the texting as the buttons are flat and its harder also you cant seem to text fast as you have to wait for the letters to go off or your letter will change however it isnt to bad once you get used to it. another high point is that it is a fast phone and nice and loud. I enjoy listening to music on my phone and this is perfect,,if you are looking for a decent loud phone this is perfect,nice and slim and easy to use.at the end of the day it is a excellent phone with good features and fantastic quality. Go out and by this phone!!! (ingnore what they say it does not break if you look after it!)

My phone began shutting down around three to four months after I purchased it. It reboots itself after this and often fails to read my sim card thus displaying the message emergency calls only. I do love the features etc with this phone and I love the music player etc but as mentioned in article above all this means nothing if if fails to serve past its warranty period. Without exaggerating EVERYONE I know who has purchased this phone has said the EXACT same thing has happened to their phone. The problem is not exclusive to the W910i but rather a problem with sony ericsson mobiles in general. I think I will stick with the much more reliable nokia in future until such time as I can afford the iphone.

i have this phone and all i can say is that it is not up to the standard that sony ericsison phones are meant to be! this phone cntinually switches itself off even though you send it away to get fixed. i would recommend sony to fix this problem. other than this fault it is a good enough phone when it stays on!

Was great for about 11 months until it started freezing and resetting - often during the middle of calls. Then it developed a fault where it no lomger recognises when you press certain buttons - these included the green button, red button, the top left button (usually options) and the "c" (delete) button. Which made my phone next to useless. Don't get one!!!

Hi, Wanted to add my 2c: I am another user who was hit with a freezing phone (2mo outside of 12mo warranty and SE told me nothing could be done - even though I was on a 2 year contract) It's a great phone - but if you want to get one I would highly recommend extended warranty or whatever

I didn't really need a new phone, my faithful payandgo Samsung E530 was doing fine, but I weakened to a contract with a shiny new phone- and of the ones on offer, the W910i was the obvious choice- I've always loved the styling of SEs. And this didn't let me down- the design is sleek and polished, with a satisfying slide mechanism (no Samsung-style scratchy noise/feel when the phone is more than a week old), and has a nice big screen- I can't even see the screen of my old phone now! I'm pleased with the phone... However, there's always a 'but'... I know someone has written that everyone should 'ignore the whingers' because 'problems are common in all technologies' (or words to that effect, that's not a direct quote), but I really do think this model has more problems than is normal. The thing that annoys me most about this phone is what I've fondly nicknamed 'The Red Light Of Doom', situated on the back (so that you don't notice it for a while). It comes into play whenever your phone feels like it doesn't really want to be a phone, it turns itself off with an irritating 'zzt' and the screen goes a strange purplish colour. This usually lasts 10-15 seconds, then the phone will turn itself back on and it will have changed your wallpaper back to the default from the theme you are using. This strange ritual can occur at seemingly any time, but it is most common when charging (I'd say it happens 60% of the time when I first plug it in), and also woe betide you if you ever turn it off, as it will surely 'zzt' when you turn it back on. Heaven knows why. A possibly even more annoying thing is the 'Inactive Sim' thing- the phone will make the same noise it does when you spell a word it doesn't like in predictive text, and instead of your network name (in my case, O2-UK), it will say Inactive Sim. The phone is useless in this state, and will only go away if you turn it off and on again. Which inevitably brings on the red light sequence. Now I haven't actually taken my phone to the doctor yet, so this may be to do with the individual handset, and not the W910i in general, but my friend who has one has exactly the same problems. And does no one think it's strange that this phone has an error light at all? Couldn't it put the energy from lighting up that infuriating little red bulb into sorting it's miserable life out?! On the whole I do actually like my phone, and if you are quite a patient person who feels they could survive the W910i's temper tantrums, then it's good points definitely outweigh the bad. If not, you should back away rapidly, or may the guilt rest with you forever when you are at it's funeral, because you hurled it at a wall in frustration...

Hey, i think its unfair to accuse this phone of having poor features, because i think thats downright unfair. I had this phone for about 6 months, then it started constantly switched of automatically, in the serious stages upto about 5 times a day. Finally i sent it back and got my money back, because i was appalled at this 'fault'. Other than that, i think this phone was a complete success, yes, i suppose it was a bit slow when you're using more than one app on it, but perhaps you're expecting to much from this phone. I'm going to give it four stars, because despite the dissapointing 'Switching Of Fault', I really liked this phone and think it deserves atleast some credit.

Four months on from my original review, and the W910 was still going strong, so it looks like if you debrand it, use the right firmware and are careful not to use processor-hungry skins or apps, the phone can indeed last well, and with the correct email setup, makes a very capable alternative to a Blackberry. However, as time went on, I found a few irritating things about the phone: 1) The screen scratches very easily. After 4 months of carrying it around in my pocket, the screen's practically unreadable in sunlight, unlike my old K750 'backup' phone, which is still perfectly useable after 4 years! 2) The phone randomly drops calls before you can answer them, and can sometimes take an age to receive incoming texts. I thought there must be something wrong with my sim card so I tried it in a different phone, and the problem disappeared. 3) The phone doesn't attempt to retrieve part-downloaded texts for some reason; once again the problem disappeared with another phone. So, all in all, though this isn't the nightmare phone most would have you believe, and though it's got some great features, it doesn't work that well as a mobile phone, which makes it a bit pointless really.

Not good. Restarts all the time, and now i can't make calls on it because my microphone has broken. All the other people i know with this phone have theirs restarting all the time aswell. Extremely displeased.

i hav ehad this phone for just about a year now and i would NOT recomend it to anyone within 2 months my screen was scrached and my paint was all off, if you were thinking off getting this fone i wouldnt. i did think it was going to be a brilliant fone btu no its rubbish i need a new one already.

Had my W910i for about 18 month and was happy with it at first but for the last few months it's been turning itself when I try and do anything actually phone related - like making a call or sending a text! I even replaced the battery as the old one kept overheating, but the problem has persisted. Am happy with the sound quality and even the camera (which I only use for the occasional snap shot), but when you can't use your phone to make calls then it's just a very expensive clock! A colleague of mine has experienced the battery overheating, red light reset thingie and switching off too on her W910i and all those people on here saying the same - that means this is not the odd faulty phone, but a serious design flaw. Would have liked to stick with this phone, but will now be looking for an upgrade!

HI, the sony ericsson phones made in 2008 were not very successful, the W910i is a good example of this it features are good but if they dont really work well then yes it is just an overated over priced lump of plastic, the W580i is exactly the same if not worse. yet another walkman with the same problams. i have recently bought a Sony Ericsson W395 and this is a great phone which has built in dual stereo speakers and it is extrememly loud and for saying how loud it goes the battery last very long and its a very good easy to use design, i highly recomend the W395 as it is priced at under �70.00, this phone beats not all but most music phones in value for money and what you get for your money, this phone is exceptional. for the W910i i would only give a single star rating.

Have had my phone since March - made the mistake of buying it and wish I hadnt wasted �100. I'll be going back to nokia next time. Have the same problems I've read about -freezing, shutting down and taking ages just to reboot with "inactive sim". Not sure id do o2 again either - all they will consider doing is to send it away, charge me �25 for the privilege and charge me another �25 if i want a temporary replacement. Having read all the messages about how crap the 910i is, maybe its time for a call to check my consumer rights and to fight for a replacement handset!

i bought this phone and so did lots of my friends. its a great phone at first and im not complaining about any of the features but it switches off all the time and everybody i know says theres does the same now it has started not switching on and just leasving one of the little buttons glowing red it just keeps breaking and it wont fix! dont buy it!

Had this phone for 18 months now, am getting an LG cookie tomorrow! The phone was overall a nice little phone. Being on contract was an advantage because I had to swap it three times because of faults. The phone turns it's self off which is annoying and call's are quiet to hear. Except those two problems, I quite enjoyed the phone.

I have had this phone for a year and find it is okay, all the features work and I haven't had the freezing problem others report. However I was very disapointed with it from the start in one major respect. This is supposed to be a walkman phone, yet if you use the music feature it burns through the battery and leaves you unable to make calls. Its also really irritating that you can't plug your own headphones in and have to use the Sony Ericsson ones.

great phone, the havanna gold colour is VERY stylish, people always remark at how fancy it looks. yes, it does restart without warning and SE does know about this issue, they created an updated firmware which makes the phone restart less often- dont know why they couldnt slove the issue. just update it on your phone. music playback loudness depends on the quality of the mp3 you put in, generally its loud enough, no probs there. camera is boss for a 2mp. yea no auto focus, but it has a FANTASTIC after-zoom (zoom in on the pic after you take it). beside the random restarting, this phone is 5/5.

This is a lovely phone to use with some excellent functions, and I was completely taken by it when I first bought it. However, the in the last month or two (it's August now and I bought this phone in May), I've noticed that my phone is switching itself off at will. I thought it was a fault with my phone, however reading the reviews below and reading reviews on other sites, I see that this is quite a common fault with this model of phone.

grat phone. great for gaming, music and video. software problems. crashes every now and then but restarts. no file losses. great sound quality. motion gaming. just lagging on start up but fast after that. camera is not ideal for taking pics in dark conditions. all in all a good, affordable phone.

well, this phone looked really good and lots of my mates got it when i did. but now after having it for like 9 months i don't like it.. it turns itself of loads and my camera has broke.. its ok if you'r only looking for a phone for like 2 months but after that it gets annoying and you end up just throwing it around. it's so frustrating. my phone has gone to repair today but i dont think anytning will happen from it, maybe the camera will get fixed but nothing else. i love the look of my phone and it hasnt had that many scratches concidering thenumber of times i have dropped it. it's also quite a slow phone.. good for music yeah but thats all its good for... i write long texts and my phone turns off in the middle of it so i give up :L the vibration is ery loud! so in school i have to have it on silent otherwise it will get heard lol.Memory is good too, i have a 2g memory thing and have 300 odd songs 34 vidios and 600odd photos.. its amazing. so other than the switchi ng off and slowness of this phone i think it's a good phone (:

this phone was the best phone i ever bought for the first 2 days then i started to hate it and regret buying it. just like all the other reviews it started to reset around 3 times a day now it about 8 times a day. but wait it get better 4 buttons have stopped working now including the call button and hang-up button and even the clear button, so how are you ment to use a phone that cant answer calls and cant hang up calls and if im sending a txt i cant make a mistake or i have to start again beacuse i cant back space. so how is that a phone its a paper weight and i think sony erisson should refund all these people that have bought this $400 paper weight.

its not a bad phone and i dont have the it shuts off on me randomly problem. i actually thought i was the only one with the freezing problem (for me, its not so much as freezing as it is that my phone likes to change themes, i thought it was possessed) but i thought it was just me because my phone is USED and ABUSED lol . but it has potential to be such a great phone its a shame that it has these glitches going on

I had this phone... And... I'm gonna say its kinda laggy. Cos in a 3months or less or a year, depends on how rough you are with your phone. It will always restarts. And once you get it near water or drop it once. The problem begins. But its quite a good phone. The pictures are nice. I forced my father to buy for me this phone last year and now... Wat a dissapoinment, Its gone.

iv had this phone since December 08 and it has been nothing but problems! the first day i bought it i encountered the 'red light reset' when transferring pictures from my old phone. since then it has constantly done this!! today for example it has reset itself about 10 times and told me it has an 'inactive sim' about three times! i haven't bothered to complain or send it back because all these phones are the same, my ex boyfriend had it and warned me about it before i got it but his wasn't as bad as mine! anyway i am now sick of it crashing on me so am buying a new one! also when texting the phone freezes for a few seconds if the signal bars change, very fustrating when you're trying to text quickly! camera isnt too bad but no flash so only during daylight! i like the editting software on the phone however. haven't had many problems with the music side of things although i haven't used it much. the sound of it is quite tinny when u play it loud which can be annoying! all in all i would reccommend that you dont buy this phone unless you want it to crash all the time and freeze!

I have had this phone on Orange since October 08 and I have changed it 4 times. As I am on contract I have to have the same phone and I have always had problems. I bought it not knowing the cosaquences and was made up until it went dodgey, this is a huge dissapointment, if they don't take it of the shelves they should warn customers that it has some disadvantages. I am very unhappy!!=(

I've not even had my phone for a year now and already it no longer slides down because a bit broke off for some reason, always goes slow, and now when i click on inbox it says "operation failed" and no longer lets me recieve or send texts. it also switches itself off all of the time.

Nice phone when i got it big screen and all was quite happy at the time. Then phone starts to lag when you put more then 750 mbs of data on it songs start to lag while being played etc. Still i tolerated it cause it was super thin and had good looks but about after i had it for 3 months phone started to have a mind of its own frezzing when watching vids and music and turning off whenever it wants (made me miss a few important calls from my gf LOL) but i did have this phone ages ago so i don't know how it is now or if they have fixed any of it yet. So yeah buy it if you are willing to risk getting a phone that turns off and freezes by itself

My stepmum gave me this moblie because she didnt use it (didnt say why) but i thought sure its nice and i have always used sony ericssons so it seemed perftect for me.. But each month it stops me from accessing any of my messages inbox, sent messages etc... And i have to go to the master reset to fix the problem but that means it delets everything so i have to reset eveything on the phone every month.. Completley head wreaking !! And every so often it just shuts down or freezes or both .. The only sony i have had problems with but i wont be sticking with this fone for 2 much longer.. Not worth it at all !

It is simply the worst phone i have ever had and ever will. It overheats and switches off constantly up to 7 times a day! I have tried everything and nothing works. When i have a new phone i will happily throw the w910i in the bin. i cant believe i even have to give it a 1 star rating. Not even E.T will phone home with this.

when i first got the phone it was amazing, the camera was great for 2 megapixels but i did think the buttons were a bit difficult to use. after a few months the phone was being really slow it was constantly re booting and freezing and turning itself off, it was so annoying. before buying the phone i read so many reviews saying that it turned itself off but i still brought it, so trust me it does that. then shortly after all these problems started i lost the phone. i was really upset at the time, but maybe it was a good thing, i now dont have to worry about it and its problems. :)

i got this phone for christmas i thought it was good at first had it for about a month and it started freezing and when somebody would call me it would switch itself off sometimes .you cant hold many photos with it because the phone keeps continusly switching it self off.it sometimes does not let me send messages and does not let you recive them all in it is not worth it money and i wish i never got it !!!!!!!

Dont get thisphone.Boughtit inApriland after a month it started swtiching itself off and saying 'inactive sim'.it constantly freezes and sometime texts take ages to get through. so i took the phone back and they gave me another brand new one. i thought it might be the sim card...how wrong was i!! it was fine for a few weeks and then my 2nd phone began doing the same thing. its only got worse!!! i would never recommend this phone to anyone

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. my boyfreind bought me this phone for valentines day, so about 6 months ago. Straight away it started with the red light thing, and freezing on the screen. The music failed halfway thru a song and skipped to the next, and itgot really really hot and froze allot so i updated the software and it worked for a couple of days and started agen, and now my warrantee has ran out, it is a shame because it really is a gorgeous phone and would be perfect if it actually worked. i would say definatley do not buy it unless you have allot of patience....

Oh come on! These are rival companies like Samsung and LG, just because this phone has won the GSM award doesn't mean that people can put you off. We have sold 240,000 units of the Sony Ericsson W910I up to date. DON'T BE PUT OFF BY ANYBODY, THIS IS A GREAT MOBILE PHONE AND AN EXTREMELY GREAT MEDIA PLAYER. If you are thinking of buying this phone my advice would be simple: DON'T!!!!!! It freezes all the time, it cannot cope with more than one thing at once for example if you receive a text whilst listening to the music player the phone will open the text - slowly - and then freeze and eventually switch off. A small red light turns on at the back of the phone and you have to wait for the phone to decide that it wants to turn back on again. Sony Ericsson must be aware of this and still continue to sell these awful phones. Also from a design point of view the main keypad is awkward to use as the keys are all pretty smooth and theres no space or definition between them - very awkward for texting. Also the hang up button operates as a cancel function and is right next to another key which is annoying if you press the wrong one and lose what you are doing.

this would be a good enough phone, it looks nice and has good stuff in it, exept that it turned itself off all the time from the day I got it...also EVERYONE I know who has this phone has the same problem..got it at Christmas and now it's completly broken, it doesn't slide down anyore and turns of every time I try to use it..and calls don't work anymore...DO NOT BUY IT!!

I loved this phone at first it had everything i wanted. Its a nightmare and i have now decided to get another phone....a Nokia!! At least i know that wont fail me!

i got this phone in january and by febuary it started to develop faults, such as freezing and swiching off, i was very disappointed. i sent it back for repair and it came back and was still turning off so i sent it off again and they replaced the whole circuit bord and it worked great for about a month but then the faults started again and what else can they do?, so overall i would not recomend this phone it has alot of faults.

I Got this phone in november and i bought it myself with all my birthday money ! what a stupid idea that was !!!! this phone must be the worst phone i have ever had !! all it ever does is turn off by itself! ill be in the middle of using it and it will freeze and go off ! alot of my friends and family also have this phone and it does the exact same ! pluss the camara isnt that good either ! It has to be a good sunny day outside to take a good picture and thats not THAT good !!! xxxxx my advice is to not get this phone at all ! its a waste of money and time ! mines been in for repair 4 times and each time its the same ! DONT BUY IT AT ALL!!!!!!

I got this phone when it 1st came out, ive only had to replace the phone once as it it used to shut down automatically, but except that the phone is one of the best phones ive had so far in a Sony Ericsson brand. Things i like about the phone is that: 1) Memory Size - very good 2) Easy to carry around 3) Appearance and layout 4) You can add great applications by just plugging into either your pc or laptop.

Sony Ericsson was and is the best phones out, but I recently came to the conclusion that they must be easy to hack into and this is whats causing the phones to crash. I have had to start using a nokia which I am not pleased about and would so love to go back to my faithful Sony. Can this be resolved!!!???

Like so many this is a great phone when it works but I have to remove the battery at least 3 times a day to stop it freezing & screw the slide screws back in every other week!Unfortunately these problems started after 6 months so Orange don't want to know & Sony Ericcson want me to pay for a repair that quite clearly is due to their sub standard product!Having previously had a 850i,that still works perfectly I might add,I stuck with them but once my contract runs it's course I will definately not get another.

Possibly the worst phone I have ever had. It crashes five times simultaneously and no matter how many times I update the software or download the patches, the problem persists. Also the paint has seemed to come off very easily. The play/ stop button has almost totally come off now and the paint on the back, at the bottom has come off in my hand. With out these problems, I would give it a pretty good review. But I am extremely dissapointed and cannot wait to get my new phone. Orange refused to take the phone back because of all the problems so now i'm stuck with it. This is my first and last sony ericsson phone.

I have had the same 'Freezing' problems as so many other people. It is a great phone when working. I have sent it back to Sony twice now after first upgrading software which didn't help. This time it has been working OK for a couple of months. They said they replaced everything except the screen and case. My advice is to deal with Sony Ericsson and not the Retailer.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! I bought it not long ago thinking it looked brilliant, and was even recommended it by the guy in the shop, but it is sooo unreliable! On face value it looks really good, but in reality it just does not work. Mine shuts down and turns itself off several times a day, and my old one never turned back on again. Because it was on contract I have to keep it for 2 years and I'm not allowed to upgrade or send it back or anything. When I phoned them up about it, the company just sent me another handset of the same model and within a week that started doing just the same thing. We've phoned up and complained so many times, and they've said that we just have to put up with it until the contract finishes (which is still over a year away), even though it is now virtually unuseable. Everyone I know who has this phone has said their one does exactly the same thing. Don't be fooled by what Sony Ericsson say this phone does, it is the worst phone I've ever h ad, I would never recommend it to anyone. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Don't buy this phone - ours has constantly frozen / turned itself off from day one, then recently the slider stuck, because the screws holding the screen section together fell out...! as a result i sent it back to Sony Ericsson who won't replace it under warranty because they say we have damaged it - WE HAVE NOT! I would never buy a Sony Ericsson again - they haven't properly tested this phone before selling it, it's not fit for purpose (in legal speak) and the aftersales service is totally biased against the consumer. it only gets one star because there isnt an option for NO STARS.

I HATE THIS PHONE, dont waste your money. bought TWO at xmas for myself & my boyf. keeps turning off every hour - no joke. turning off becomes more regular the longer you have it. i've it stuck together with tape and my boyf cant use his. chargers are a joke too if i could id give it NO stars.

this phone, is awful:) it freezes all the time, and switches itself off alot. most the time i cant even connect a call without it shutting off, and it take DAYS to stop showing 'inactive sim' it looks good, but it breaks easily. mine smashed within the first week of having it, and it was only in my bag �� the screen gets dust stuck underneath it and there is no way to get it out :/ keypad is also awful, really hard to text:( i hate it :)

I have got a w910i. i didnt know how rubbish it would be when i got it on contact and i am now stuck with the stupid thing. i am on my 3rd phone and am only 6 months into an 18 month contract. I am wondering if Sony will take any responsibility and offer some sort of compensation in the form of a different phone, as orange clearly arent doing that by giving me anothe useless phone!!!

Phone is a bag ov junk i had mine for 3 months carphone warehouse sent it too sony ericsson 4 times it still freezes i gave up in the end its irrepairable its impossible to show off to your mates and i am now into my nokia's they last longer are never sent back apart from minor microphone difficulties its better than a phone that controls when it turns off and on! Sony need to think about there next phone and if it actually works!

I wouldn't recommend this phone to my worst enemy.after 3 months of having this phone just about every thing about it is broken. the slide mechanism doesnt slide..id say it was more of a grind. the phone turns off saying it has a low battery even though battery gage reads full. music player freezes. shake control doesnt really work. phone is constantly turning its self off or goin into red light reset mode. when using phone to make an out going call phone fails to ring..just freezes most of the time.speaker volume is too low(or maybe im jus deaf).its basically impossible to have a full conversation on this phone as it keeps breaking up.also had to put a piece of paper in back of phone because the battery became loose. maybe i just expect to much from a phone, i duno

Seems i've had the same issues as everybody else. Phone was one of 5 offered to me on contract by orange. Persisted with the continuous fault but it got so bad I went to speak to Orange, they said that to fix the phone I would have to pay �15. If Sony Ericsson is the cause surely they should be the ones to pay and not me. Sick of the phone but can't swap over to new phone due to contract terms, stuck with it for another year.

I had troubles with this phone from the day I got it. I go it when it was first released in NZ in Sept last year, and the very first day I had it, it did the "red light error" on me. From there on in it just got progressively worse, so I got it taken in for repairs and was sent a new handset. The new one started doing the same, so that was taken in for repairs, only I was told there was nothing wrong with it and that they reset it and gave it a software update. After that things just got worse and worse. It would always say "inactive sim" and that it had lost reception (in areas of full reception). I couldn't access any files saved on my memory card without it freezing, so the picture/music/video features were useless to me, and it would often reset when recieving txt messages and calls. Today, after a screaming fit at the store who kept saying "we can't do anything, sorry" despite it still being within the 3 year warranty period I had paid extra for, I finally was able to get the store to keep the piece of junk phone and give me a whole new phone that was not a sony ericsson. if you're into phones that do nothing they're supposed to do (ie: txt, call, act as a walkwman) then you've found your perfect phone!!

i do no recommened people to buy this phone. Over the year that i have had it, it has failed to work on more than one occasion. The buttons will fail to work, you will not be able to make and recieve calls with the other person hearing you and the phone itself, will not turn on. And when it id, the screen went weird and froze.

Having roamed various forums on the net I have realised the fault I have with my phone is very much common. The screens take too long to load. The phone freezes at will mid way through doing something, eventually decides to turn itself off and on a again. Sometimes it does nothing and I have to remove the battery to get it too restart. Mine is barely 2 months old. I am taking it back this weekend and demending a different model altogether as this is not worth the �30/month contract I have, its not worth the hassle period. If you would enjoy taking half an hour to write one text get this phone. If your not weird get something different altogther. Also for all its looks its spec is very poor in comparision to other phones of its era.

i have this phone at honestly its good apart from when it freeze's and shuts down. i took it back to the shop and they said they had fixed it but they didn't so i took it back again. i haven't had it back yet but there giving me a new one so hopefully it will be ok. sony ericsson is a good make it just has faults.

A decent phone but really not reliable at all. Iv had mine for about a year now and so far the screen has cracked twice, the camera has stopped working and applications such as games wont open. It freezes very often too when its memory starts to get too full.

I agree that overall, the phone is good. But I got mine Second hand, the battery had completely run dead, no juice at all... Getting the thing to start back up again meant 26 hours of charging non stop, i eventually took out the plug in fear the charger would catch fire and melt... eventually after extensive charging, it got working and i haven't had any problems since... I restarted it from "Mass Storage" mode and it lagged real bad, but after about 3-4 minutes it functions properly again... Had no other problems, music player is VERY good, the megabass is quite strange on some songs though, almost an "Echo" when bass is pumped up... but overall very good music features, and the radio is good too.

This is one of the worst phones I have ever had. It has been changed a number of time under the guaranty but the same faults still occurred. Even the basics are not addressed in this model. Signal strength is abysmal when the phone is not slid up in it�s open position continually shows �Emergency Calls Only�. The nearly every day occurrence of the phone cutting out is one of the most annoying. When running its own Walkman application, its so slow and if you�re running Bluetooth it even worse. Best to steer clear of this one.

I have had this phone about 6 weeks now, having previously had the K800i. In my view my old phone is much better than this new one. I am on Orange and always have been. Signal on the old phone is no problem. This new W910i's signal is so poor that I am ready to bin it. How can a Sony Ericsson have such a naff signal compared to an older model !!! Sending it back as I write !!!

OK - this is the WORST phone I have ever had. Like all the previous reviewers before me, the phone freezes and turns itself off at random. REALLY annoying when you are in the middle of a long text, or on the phone. The only way I have found of rectifying it is to take the battery and sim out and restarting the phone. The text buttons are small and you have to press them quite hard to get them to register. The shake control was the selling point for me but I lost interest after about an hour. All in all, this phone has actually put me off getting another Sony Ericsson phone.

This phone is amazing. I use it every day, going to and coming home from school and it has only switched off on me once. It never crashes, no red lights, simply amazing!!! Nice design, fits in my hand, perfect call clarity, and the music player is AMAZING! The headphones dont come out your ears, either!!! If you need a new phone and can afford this one, BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!

I have the grey and pink sony ericsson w910i. At first it was working fine, but over the past few months my phone keeps switching itself off and freezing, which is EXTREMELY annoying. It mainly swtiches itself off when I am viewing pictures in the 'Media' section. Also, when I am listening to music on the walkman the music will suddenly stop and freeze. It scratches very easily and I have to charge it every 2 days (sometimes everyday). I have had this phone 3 months now and I am already fed up of it but I am stuck with it now. If you tap the back of the phone it will randomly switch off. Also, the keys and everything seem very fragile and I have a crack in my camera lens. I would not recommend this to anyone because of the poor quality.

ITS RUBBISH. I think a burger would be a better phone. It can't go a day without going blank and the red light on the back turning on - what the guys in the shop called a dodgy system. Also, the supposed amazing speaker.. rubbish. Just fails epicly. Its such a tinny sound and just makes the music sound bad! AND. The battery doesn't last more than a day and a half. Even when I turned the screen brightness down to the lowest setting and have it on silent. Still it drains like water through a sieve. Don't get this phone. As I said before, a burger could be a better phone. :

The phone is standard, nothing more, nothing less. The faults are annoying to say the least. And can anyone tell me why there's the 'evil red light' (as it's known by my mates and I) on the back of it?? Why was it installed? What other use does it have other than to advise me that my phone has shut itself down ONCE AGAIN! I've never managed to get the 'shake control' to work on mine either. Oh, and has anyone else noticed when using the media player it just gets stuck with the sideways screen? Rant over. Phone's rubbish.

when i got this phone about last February, i was amazed and thought it was fabulous! but after a couple of months it wasn't as great as i thought. it restarts itself and you have to keep the phone very still to get a decent picture, but i didn't expect good photos as it is a 2.0 mega pixel camera. the volume goes loud though and can hold 500 songs, great when you love music! i also have to say it is breakproof. i have dropped it about 50 times and i always throw it across my room when i am angry/upset. but it always restarts,, and i lost it in winter in the snow and found it a hour later and it still worked, so it is also waterproof. the lighting is good. it lasts 2-3 days without turning off. the buttons are easy to use and i can text reasonably quick on it with predictive text. i haven't done a video call but i pretend to and it is good. i would give it 3.5 because it isn't excellent or good. but in the middle. i am 13, soo it's not quite a adult phone i don't thi nk but a good teenage phone. enjoy!

i bought this phone back in feb because my little boy decided to give my last phone a bath and ruined, i always buy sony ericssons and have never had a problem until i bought the w910i, freezing, switching off.... not a reliable phone at all.... just as well i've got the house phone put in bcos i stay in the middle of the country and with the mobile playing up the way it does i can't rely on it. when it works it is fine, but recently just sending a message is enough to set it off, and it happens up to 5 times an hour. its getting ridiculous and i don't recommend "getting it fixed from the retailer" as the problem persists. sony ericsson should be giving out refunds or offering to give the buyer a new phone. a total waste of money.

First off I saw this phone advertised and I stupidly thought it would have been a good deal. I've been through 4 phones throughout 18 months switching themselves off, freezing,buttons not working correctly. The staff at vodafone constantly sent my phone back to be 'repaired' however I felt they just kept it in their store as I'd get the phone back and it would still be accustoming the same faults. After a while I gave up with trying to sort it out as it would mean waiting 2 weeks to have my phone 'fixed' when in fact it wouldn't. Seriously consider about buying this phone-especially with vodafone as it is not worth the hassle I've been through with it. Back to an old sendo- says it all.

great phone to use, great memory, good speakers too and a really clear camera but the camera does need a flash cos you cant take pics when its in a darkish room. but there is one thing i dislike about it and thats when its turns off at times, it does my head-in cos i have to keep turning it on and it takes ABIT to come on.. its never been broke though and i've had it since christmas day 2008. battery doesnt last that long though but it depends what you do on it .. i have to charge mine up about every 2 days.

Look beautiful outside but inside is lousy. When you shade it cannot be off as mentioned. Of and on the red light would come out while talking and disrupt the coversation. Paid RM1200.00 and get a nutshell, worth 1/2 sen. Will not buy Sony ericsson again.

I have had this phone since Christmas and never had any problems with it. It never froze or turned itself off. However I have recently dropped it on the floor and now the display wont turn on, although the phone itself is as the keys are lit up. I would recommend this phone, but it isnt particualy durable. I have had phones in the past that I dropped on the floor many times and they continued to work, but I drop this on the floor once and it wont work again.

You turn it on it turns its self off, you play music it freezes and turns off, you are looking thru pic'z it freezes and restarts. i personally think on the box they shud have a warning sticker : MAY STRESS YOU OUT. ALOT!!! The phone wud be perfect if it didnt restart, i have had it for three months and had three replacements, two because of the constant restarting and the third because the screen broke. I am now back to my trustworthy samsung until yet another replacement turns up.

similar to review given above, this phone is great and you can organize everything with ease. However it is let down by the fact it freezes. It can freeze during phone calls, texting, recieving texts, going online and listening to music. This can be very fustrating at times and usually occurs every hour or so depending on how much you use your phone. The problem rectifies itself within about 3 minutes.

These phones are brilliant ,,when you can get them to work, mine always forze and restarted in the middle of a game or text or phone call etc. i rang many people and sent it away o be fixed, although the problem was neva resolved. My phone kept on doing this after a year of constant irritaion (was on contract) i gave up, bought a new phone but still used sim,, coz by now the phone stoped workin all togeva. I love this phone has great memory and apps and was disapointed at the fact i had to get rid of it because of manufacture problems.

i have had this phone for almost a year and i half and i have had many problems with it - i dont know how i have managed that long! It freezes and shuts down very often, a few times a day. I sent it back and got new software but then it wouldnt turn on without plugging it into the charger - even though it was fully charged! i do like the look of the phone though and it has good memory and good music player. im getting a new one soon though!

I have had this phone twice! first one I had was the red one... i had problems with it a lot before that one got stolen....but then I had got the black one thinking ohh the red might hav only had a faulty with it or something but NO!! they are all alike!! even my friends [which are like 4 friends] have the same problem with it freezing and restarting and changing its theme! I love all the features of this phone but it really isnt stable and it is really annoying so I do not recommend it.

i've had this phone since september and i've had 4 replacements also because it turns off whenever it wants, 14 times in a row one time. and then it always freezes or randomly tells me to insert my sim card. also the walkman keeps pausing while playing music. but the latest problem is that whenever i slide it up or down the screen goes blank and won't go back on, but it still plays music or recieves texts and calls at the same time. this phone is really not worth getting to be honest

I've had this phone for a month now and it hasn't rebooted once so far! I don't know if this is because I've just been very lucky, or if it's because of the steps I've taken to keep it this way: 1) I reboot the phone every day (as it says in the Sony manual) 2) The phone has been debranded (phone providers often introduce random bugs / slowness in their branding) 3) I have disabled as much of the animation and 'fancy' features as I can (animation=extra work for phone=cpu overheating=possible crash) 4) It's running the latest reliable debranded Sony firmware - version R1FA035 The phone's been 100% reliable to date so I can't fault it in any way. It's been excellent! It feels like a quality phone, and if I didn't know about its awful reputation I'd say it was the best SE phone I've owned! However, I know one day it will go 'Bang!', unlike my beloved W800 which only went 'Bang!' a few months ago when it was squashed by a lorry...!

Iv had this phone for just over a twar and it's rubbish! It switches itself off all the time if you just slide it up too fast and it crashes about 10 - 15 times a day. And trying to get onto my inbox is nearly impossible, it freezes for ages and takes over 5 mins to open. Glad Im getting rid of it next week.

I love this phone its great ...looking!! BUT...iv had it 6 months, i got it for christmas! And when i somethims i send a text and the person will not get it maybe 6 or 6 days later! And there is no flash but that aint a BIG problem but it freezes and turns itself off!! Its really annoying! It looks great the applications are fabb! But i want a phone i can rely on and one that lasts about a year or so!! Its good but not great!

First impressions. Looks good, fits perfectly in my hand, battery lasta a LONG time even with music playing. Cool themes. Downside: Numbers bit fiddly but hey, what's speed dial for, eh!! Good phone. 3.5/5 but because I'm nice its a 4* phone.

Worst phone I've ever had. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Coming to the end of an 18 month contract and, had it not been for the awful customer services of my network provider, this phone would have long been back with them. The keys aren't great for texting, much prefered my old Nokia. The keys make it quite slow. Despite the fact that the musical ability was one of it's biggest selling points, the speakers for playing music are not terribly loud. The phone constantly freezes, switches itself off or refuses to switch back on. The camera is fine during the day, but for evening photos or nights out with friends, it is absolutely awful due to the lack of a flash. After this phone, I will never ever have another Sony Ericson again.

I upgraded this a year ago from an older sony ericson make, to find it refuses to work at all. After a few months, the speaker goes so you cant have phone calls, the phone crashes and the memory card fails to work. worst money ive ever spent on buying and on trying to get the phone fixed. Dont buy it!

Its a GOOD phone; light, sleek, thing design with well placed buttons and a smooth slide function to reveal a nice keyboard. Minor issues with the phone are constant crashing, freezing and overheating but these can be fixed if you update your firmware, remove your memory card or replace the phone completly.. If your a heavy texter the keyboard becomes very figity and annoying to use, if not verging on painful and if your a talker your find the speaker volume even on full isnt really enough, and dont even bother using the loud speaker as theres little to nothing loud about it. The camera is poor, no flash and heavily pixelated (noise) regardless of conditions. If you try taking pictures in low light however your be emensely disapointed. All in all its a good phone with only minor issues, its sure enough to please your average phone user and ive had it for almost a year now and im still happy with it. However if "the phone" is an extension of you and you depend on it like air, then this isn't the phone for you. Its constant crashing, lack of "quality features", annoying keyboard and low speaker volume make this an un-reliable and user-UNfriendly phone for constant use.

I didn't get on with this phone at first but it's ok after a while. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DOWNLOAD THE UPGRADED SOFTWARE FOR IT ! It gives you a slicker transition between images and a few other pointless but nice touches BUT IS LITTERED WITH BUGS and will very annoyingly cause the phone to turn off at random intervals, the only way to restart it it to take the battery off.

If this phone was a person i would punch it in the face. From day one its been giving me nothing but problems. It freezes shuts down, ect. I went back to the dealer to download updated software and that seemed to work for a little bit. Now its jamming up when I call. For instance it wont let you hang up because the system become non responsive. I friggin hate this phone and cant wait to buy another phone (non sony ericsson) so I can smash this phone into peices

I'll stick to listing the problems as I hate reviews that get all talky (nearly as bad as this phone. This review covers the phone + accompanying Sony Ericsson Suite/Media Manager/etc. 1) Charge indicator on the phone screen + % indicator in Phone Status are inaccurate and random (e.g.play a game for 30mins it uses nothing but do nothing overnight and it eats up 20% instand by) 2) Phone Can be glitchy when Using walkman, e.g. screen freezing when trying to access menu 3) Bluetooth is at best DODGY, even with NO obstruction and the bluetooth receivers/transmitters being less than an inch apart 4) MP3s get corrupted and bitty after less than 2 months on memory card 5) If network signal goes down ALL functions lock/freeze (INCLUDES: Notes, Tasks, Camera, Walkman, etc.) 6) Radio is FM & NOT DAB as I would have expected by now 7) Track ID does not work, that or heaven forbid that you actually listen to REAL music instead of mainstream TV/Radio trash 8) Sony Ericsson Media Transfer software only detects my phone in Mass Storage mode, rendering MOST of the facilities (SenseMe, etc.) inaccessible/unusable 9) Sony Ericsson Suite/Media Manager crash what is a more than adequate laptop The following points may be the phone, the network I'm on or both: 10)The message INACTIVE SIM appears more & more frequently on my phone, rendering it dead, whilst it tries to restore itself, but today I think it took it 15 minutes to do that, the longest time yet. 11) O2 Network signal keeps dropping out, result is ALL functions both network and phone-only freeze OVERALL RESULT: If you value your sanity and any other Tech, gatgets, PCs that you have: 1) AVOID SONY ERICSSON W910i 2) GET SHOT OF SONY ERICSSON W910i I'M ALSO ANGRY THAT THE RATING SYSTEM HERE DOESN'T ALLOW FOR MINUS RATINGS PLEASE ADD THE WORD: 'MINUS' IN FRONT OF THE BELOW RATING AND FOR PETE'S SAKE REMOVE THE 'OUTSTANDING'/'EXCELLENT' RATING AND REPLACE IT WITH A 'CRATE OF ROTTEN FISH'

Worst phone i have ever got, I have a temper problem and just when i seem to be in a very bad humour it decides to freeze, turn itself off and back on & when it comes back on it says inactive sim & then does it over again until it stops sayin inactive sim, works fine for another 2 hours or so and does it again, delete messages at random, decides not too recieve txts until you turn it off and take batt out. Im still using it at the min and its drivin me mad. Friend of mine works in Meteor Irl and said that its not sonys fault, because sony are quite good at delivering succesful products, but its the software supplied to run the phone from ericsson side of things. In simpler terms of what happens basically they designed the phone to run more than its actually capible of. Think of it like computer with barely any ram, if theres anthing more than your desktop running then it goodbye. Terrible phone. SIMPLY THIS IS THEE WORST PHONE ON THE MARKET.

I've had the phone since it came out and it's only really good for it's walkman, which is what I bought it for in the first place, but the constant switching off, while you're in the middle of a phone call or at the most inconvenient of times just takes the piss a bit too much. i don't like this phone at all. i actually hate it. it always turns itself off on its own, and doesnt turn itself back on unless i take the battery out of my phone and put it back in. my memory stick doesnt stay in the phone, it falls out, and my phone memory has ran out, even though i have nothing on my phone that uses phone memory.

i had this phone for 6 months maybe? and tbh i was in love with it :D, best phone ever but i was really disapointed when it decided to reset its self everyday at 3o'clock and then finaly stopped working all togther, i have sent it back to be repaired for teh second tme and just got it back today. it still isnt working. despite that, its the best phone ever:) whya re poeple saying the camara is so bad? i found no faults with it. i wish it still worked :(:( not to self, dont take phones in the bath

This phone is brilliant. it has everything you need with good walkman and speaker quality!!! it is a nice phone with some problems too. i have had my W910i for 1 year and a half and i had to send it for repair and the slide sometimes fails to slide wich is the only function it has to do and it constently freezes. i think you should get this nice looking phone if you have a long fuse...

I had this phone for about 2 months now and I am not complaining.Yes,the downsize of this phone is the camera,but this is a walkman phone so you can't be expecting much.I did also see my phone turn off by itself but this isn't such a big problem because my phone doesn't do that often.Besides that I don't like the key you have to press so the motion sensor can skip tracks.It's small and it's a problem to keep pushing it and changing the track that's playing.Besides that this phone is great.If you like to listen to music and also have a good slide phone this is the best for you

I HATE THIS PHONE. It is FOREVER shutting down on its own for no reason at all. The earphones cannot be plugged in directly into the phone but has to be first connected to a bulky adapter - thus the walkman is useless to me. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE I have sent it to repair 2 times and it STILL HANGS/SHUTS DOWN.

i have had this phone for 5 months now and it has been to repairs already. It says incative sim card and then freezes. The songs cuts in the middle like a CD that has a scratch. It looks nice on the outside, but pathetic in the inside! Sony Ericsson: your competitors are doing a great job! if you read all the review, we all saying the same thing. please do something about this phones software or you will loose fans (customers)! i am a fan but now, i am not even waiting for my upgrade, i am getting a different model(not sony ercisson). but i love the red one!

i have had the same problems as most people with this phone eg frezzing and turning itself off i took it back to vodafone who told me it was a software problem and instead of sending it away i could update the software myself from the sony website.this i did quite easily and have had no problems since.(take out sim and memory card before you do this).another problem i have is when the phone is in my pocket and the keypad is supposedly locked when i pull out my phone to use it, it has switched itself onto the internet which i get charged for does anyone else have this problem and is there a way round it

Rite , were do i begin i got my phone a couple of months back and started to experience some problems such as the phone shutting off and rebooting itself causing a red light to show on the back or it simply just freezing during a text and not then saving the message ( although sometimes it did ) or being in a call and it shutting off and people still being able to hear you for a little while longer well the phone is shutting off, now to start with this wasn't such a big deal to me because i didn't do it that much but in the last month it has become very unbearable constantly shutting off and sometimes not turning back on having trouble charging loosing my sim contacts too but if anyone has any ideas for me please can you leave a comment!!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PHONE - its the best i've ever had! the camera gives crystal clear images even though its only 2MP! unfortunately it doesn't have a flash and you can only zoom in video mode =( don't let this put you off the phone cause it also has other great features: the sound is great, its easy to text with, the battery is good etc I DEFFINATELY RECCOMEND THIS PHONE =)

happy for about 5month. then phone started crashing/freezing and turning off randomly,very slow when walkmans playing, one good thing i suppose is the screen size. few months ago slight water damage caused the screen to dysfunction but sound works, i can no longer use this phone.

Rite i got this phone second hand and when i recieved it i tried phonin my partner and he could hear me but i couldnt hear him.so my advice to u is if this happens get a tissue and clean the earphone just above the screen that worked for me.if ur phone freezes or switches off go to sony ericsson website and update ur phone that should work.i love this phone the buttons r soft to txt and the screen is amazin.i wish they had a better camera but this ones good enough for me.its a great phone i love it.:)

I got this as a replacement for my W850i. I was a lucky W850i user in regard to keypad cracking issues, mine didnt crack. But i thought yeah it seems to be getting outdated so ill grab myself the lush new W910i...Im still deciding whether it was a mistake or not...Within 3 hours of having it, it started resetting itself! And freezing. I also REALLY dislike the way they have changed all the key functions, i liked it how it was, i loved the simplicity. Dont get me wrong, its a brilliant phone!...when it works. The camera is pretty good for a 2MP cam...all it needs is autofocus and a flash. Audio quality is high through the supplied headset, however when played on the speaker i found it cheap and extremely tinny compared to my W580i. I dont like where they placed the walkman button, it makes shake control redundant in that position on the handset. The screen is crisp and large, but i found it a little dim compared to the W580i. I don't like the Media Manager either. I liked having the Other folder, so i could place my .jar game & app installers. Sony Ericsson are going sloppy on the manufacture of their handsets. As a loyal SE user...i implore them to get that quality back...its why i use SE. In the meantime ill flog it on eBay and go back to my W580i.

I got this phone just after christmas. It was the one to have. I loved the gold detail around the edges of the phone and I loved the overall look of it. I hav e had it for 3 months now and I am EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. It Turns itself off and resets itself at least 5 times a day. And just receantly it OVERHEATS and will not turn itself on for about 4 hours later. I am at the moment having to use a very old Nokia phone while I try to find a decent phone to replace it. To everyone thinking to buy this phone I have one message. NO MATTER HOW GOOD LOOKING...DO NOT BUY THE W910I... EVER !!! I think that sony erricson should refund all the money that people spent on these phones which do not work properly. I spent �150 on mine and I am extremely angry at myself for spending that much money on a worthless bit of plastic.

im gutted had nothing but problems with mine a friend had the same problems slide the phone up it switches off and a red light comes on at the wasted loads of credit cause it would conect to people while locked in my pocket also most times pressing menu it would go on to wap and it takes for ever to stop it a nephew has the same problem it has gone off for repair i know it will come back the same

i got this phone a while ago and fro the start it was permanently freezing and restarting in the middle of me doing something. i had to send it back as it got stuck slid up and the replacment has the same problems. i would not recommened this phone as all my friends who have this phone have this problem!!

I've had five of these now. All of them developed infuriating faults (re-starting/freezing etc.) And thanks to Orange they are sending me another one. I will never have another SE phone again. I feel murderous just thinking about it. Avoid like the plague.

If I could give this phone a minus I would... don't get it! I'm on my third handset and the reset red light thing has happened on all 3! Don't waste your time, you'll spend far too much time on the phone to try and get it replaced... if it doesn't turn off whilst your doing it!

This phone looks like it is going to be an extreamly amazing phone that would blow your head off... UNLUCKY!!! This phone fails to win me over with a feature that turns your screen to the way you are looking but when you hit a spped bump it freezes! The best part of it is that it's a walkman. THAT'S IT!!!! The speeker is very quiet. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT!!!

i got this phone with 3 mobile australia. after a few months it started to turn it self off and on and kept saying inactive usim. I did research and found the phone was recalled in the uk and the usa. I have had the phone "repaired" ie software upgrade done 3 times now and I believed I should be getting a new phone if it happened again but alas 3 now believe its the sims problem and offered me a new sim. Funny how the sim works fine in other phones. So I advise people DO NOT GET THIS PHONE IT HAS SOFTWARE PROBLEMS WHICH CANT BE FIXED.!!

to be short and sweet i had three different phones within a month.all of them crashed on frequent occasions upto 10 times a day turning off then coming back on saying inactive sim.it regularly forgets mms/sms/wap settings.tried all different types of software still no joy.camera is a load of junk.hsdpa is very slow no matter where you are.DONT BUY THIS PHONE!!!

Not impressed with this phone,it has been back and forwards for repair more times than I have had chance to use it,with exactly the problems noted above,definately lost their way with this phone,great design poor performance. can't say I would recommend this phone to anyone

I have a w910i it does freeze a lot but normally sorts itself out in ten sec or so internet connection in brilliant iam running opera mini i watch u tube with no problems and video downloads at a good race sound quality is excellent and got storage with memory card

I hate this phone. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. i was so excited when i got it and it was fine for about 9 months and then operation failed on gaming, music files, picture files. Keeps switching off and now the voice gone, when people call i cant hear them nor them me. It has been repaired but the same issues after 1 week.

i have sony ericsson w910i since the day i bought it it kept on freezing which is very inconvenient. i accidentally washed it at my mates house house and from then on it heeps on freezing but im not sure whether this would have started to happen anyway.it is very hard to text as you cannot tell whether you have pressed the button. i am buying the lg ks360 (one with the qwerty keypad) for the time until it is time to upgrade i am very disappointed with sony ericsson. i dont think i will get another one im thinking of getting the samsung tocco ultra edition

I have the sony ericsson w910i phone in pink and black. When i first got it, it was alright and was a pretty good phone. Now i've had it since christmas, it turns itself on and off daily, and freezes a lot. Also, whenever i take a picture, it says that its saved, freezes, switches off and when i go to look at the picture - its not there. Another problem would be when someone is trying to send me a song or picture, it freezes and switches off. I knew these phones were bad but i didn't expect them like this. I wouldn't recommnd it, it's not a very good phone.

massive design fault with this fone as S.E w910i's constantly turn themselves off when they feel like it, up to 20 times a day. i know 4-5 people with the same phone and the same problems. i replaced mine for a new model one month after purchasing to see if it was a one off and the next one was just as bad, great lookin fone with good features but only accessible 50% of the time when fone is ON!!

I've had about 5 sony ericsson phones and all after about 5 months start to freeze and turn off so they'd send me a new one and it would do it again. Theproblem is i love the simplicity of the phone so i keep buying them, but yes they really are rubbish after that first 5 months.

ive had this phone for nearly a year and its great just want i want . ive read some of the reviews and they say its hard to text . either ive just got used to it or its them . the sound could be a little louder but its livable , the camera it pretty good i taught and i love taking pictures one of the best cameras ive had & as for games i got a racing one and its so hard to stear with the button but apart from that the games are good . i love the shuffle even though i don't use that much . I REALLY HATE IT WHEN IT FREEZES THOUGH ! arrrgh . every time you drop it it turns off and i drop my phone alot im very clumsy and it just turns its self off and turns back on again . the quick buttons on the top of the phone are amazing to view your pictures quickly and easily . i would recommend this phone its just the point of it freezing .

I've had this phone since November 2008 and up until two weeks ago had no real problems with it at all. The only annoying thing that happened occasionally would be that it would freeze and only remedy would be to remove the battery and restart the phone. However two weeks ago, bizarrely all my messages from inbox and sent items disappeared completely and the phone stopped sending texts. I could receive but not send! Phone went off for repair and altho its working again its still freezing off and on and now when you turn it back on again you have the Normal/FLight Mode menu come up EVERY time!!! Will be glad when my upgrade is due!!

Loved the phone when it first arrived. Stylish and very easy to use. The camera picture quality was slightly disappointing but overall the phone was good. Have had to have the phone replaced 3 times so I am pleased I have an insurance policy with my contract. Still the phone suffers from the same problems as before. Continually switching itself off and rebooting. This is apparently a comman problem, so why are the phones still on the market with no improvement!

i hated it, espically when it use to turns its self off. You could be half way threw a text and it would just go off:S also on occasion if i was in a different area it wouldnt let me send messages, it is really stylish and has alot of memory, but overall i found it an annoyance!

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. IT CRASHES EVERY FIVE MINUTES. All this phone does is crash. Even doing a simple operation it crashes. Yes i admit that the features on the phone are quite good. But when it decides to crash when your half way through a important text or phone call, you will get very annoyed.

i have the w910i and i have to say its the worst phone i have ever had, it freezes and shuts down. Also if my fone decides to be annoying it will not allow me to acess my messges therefore me having to master reset and this deletes the whole of my memory! Also with me adn many of my friends we find the fone breaks easily too! So a definite not recommeded by me...but its your choice!

Had this phone since December 08 and in 4 months iv had to take it back to the carphonewarehouse 4 times to be fixed, firstly it switches off, and not once in a while, up to 5 times a day, second it got a message 'stuck' in the outbox, i could send or recieve any messages so i restored factory settings, which didnt help, then reset the phone, which worked, but then it happened again. It continued to switch on and off and the alarm would randomly switch itself off too, to im going to have to replace it after less that 6 month, Majorly dissapointed as i really like the way it works... when it works that is.

i hated it! totally argee with everyone..my phone kept switching its self of and freezing, one on my handsets wouldnt even let me read or recive texts so we sent it back the next one was fine untill a few months ago when it kept freezing and shutting it's self off all day and then it wouldnt turn back on because the battery had broken.. therefore i wouldnt recommend this phone to anybody, i certainly think that the phone is over priced for what you get..

I have had this phone for six months and from the day i got it i hated it. It does randomly turn off and today the battery has decided to die completely and become unable to charge. The only reason i remotely like it is the fact it is partially waterproof & it has a 1GB memory card. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Got this mobile in december as an upgrade for my contarct only problem is the phone turns off at regular intervals, its been in repair 2 times and came back to me with the fault still, now its in for the third repair and has been sent off to sony themselves (probably to do the same thing as the repair centres have done flashed the mobile and installed the software on it). Cant wait till i send it off for 4th repair as i'll get a new mobile issued to me (apparantly). Music quality is great though and earphones are better then the standard ones they used to issue with older phones.

I have had this phone for about 2 weeks and it breaks down esspecially when I'm texting people it gets quite good signal though and I like it Its very pretty. I lost the back but found it again simply because I didn't lock it on =P Over all it's not the best working phone but it's really nice.

My mobile phone seems to shut down regularily especially when i'm in the middle of a text or a phone call. I do send quite alot of texts due to work comitments but the mobile i have ( the w910i) does not seem to meet my expectations or my satisfactory need. I would not recogmend this phone to anyone other than a young teenager or older persons that does not use the facillities frequently. If anything i would recogmnd one off there older models which take the wear and tear of everyday life but are also reliable. Many thanks Mrs Marshall.

this phone is pathetic.... contract with it ends next week so i might as well warn any future buyers off of this phone. problem 1) freezing/resetting: many of my friends have this phone and also this problem, it will randomly freeze, turn off(sometimes several times in a row) and even change the theme/background etc of the phone when turned back on. (this happened when ever but almost always when you were doing something, esp a long text/multitasking on it)- i am aware this is a software problem but... as im sure SE are aware of this problem after talking to several mobile geeks, the company have not released a worthy software update which nulifies the problem, i have had to reset this phone(completely- real hassle) at least 8 times. problem 2 - screen stopped working whilst slide was open - dunno what happened but i sent it back and i got the whole top slide replaced. also this phone is really slow considering the little jump it had made in technicality from my w300i (which worked perfectly-i recommend) the slowness makes the graphics very jerky and not appealing at all(i do not use the video functions due to this). one thing i liked about this phone is its battery life, it always seemed sufficient enough if i ever went away without a charger, also when it works it works really well and the camara for a 2.0 mp is outstanding compared to the later 3.2mp camara in a newer SE model( cant remember the details but my friend has the phone) the sound quality in call was decent enough, although a bit dissapointed with the speaker phone and max volume in call. also a major bad thing on this phone is the headphone socket- wrong place completely and with daily use you will most likely replace the headphones due to damage of some sort. if you do buy this phone i recommend having no more than 50 song files and very few other files on the phone as it simply cannot cope with being used, it has the usual SE menu layout with a few changes, not a bad phone if you get one of a lucky few in existance that are problem free. i mentioned i used the SE w300i before this and i still own it, as a back up and will not replace its function with this phone... im actually so dissapointed with this phone i have ordered a contract with the nokia N85 which arrives tomoro and hope it does not stress me out so much, i also hope SE get up to date with the modern mobiles because they are starting to lag behind without producing a well performing range with many functions not just music or a camara phone (i am aware the w995 does this but i doubt it will do it well, also it is a late arriver and i think it will sell badly)

i got this phone on 18month contact and to get striaght to the point im on my 3rd one and im only just had it 12months. it is a nice lookin phone but it is terrible for freezin cutting out and switchin itself off all the time would not recommend it but then again i wouldnt recommend any se phone as ive had these problems with all my se phones. all in all se is a load of rubbish to put it a polite way!!!!!!!!!

This was a lovely phone but sadly when it was 7 months old it died. The reason being liquid damage....Apparently this phone should not be used in the rain as it only takes one yes one rain drop to seep in & kill it. Now as this is England we do have rain so if you want to use the phone get yourself a hermatically sealed bubble so it is protected from the elements. I also had a W580i which died at 10 months again from liquid corrosion possibly due to the change in temperature coming in from cold snowy outdoors to warm home. Wake up Sony the phone is a working tool not a precious antique it should be robust enough for everyday use.

Mine restarted automatically after saying Inactive Sim. I have no idea. Even when I flashed it with the newest firmware, the problem still occurs. But it looks great, and work great with java games.

i was gonna get this phone but then i changed my mind because my friends who have got this phone says it switches itself off all the time & i seen it happen aswell. a red light appears on the back and then it just goes off then you have to take the battery out and turn it all back on again : i'm gonna give it a 2 because i haven't got the phone. but i think the camera & music player is good so if you don't mind the annoying switching-itself-off-all-the-time thing then this is probably the phone for you!

this phone's amazing! when i got it a few weeks ago, everyone was amazed by the speakers and the sound, my advice is dont get it on O2 but get it on t-mobile or orange, best server! totally amazing phone i recomend it!!!

i got this phone back in november, it was the first time i got a sony ericsson, it froze just days after i got it, sent it back, when i got it back it didnt freeze for two days then it froze. its not april and it freezes about 3 times every hour and the shop wont take it back. this phone is nothing but bad news and i wouldnt recommend it to anybody.

i absolutly hate this phone i had it 2 months and it overheated so i sent it back they sent me a red one which was all scratched and mine was the pink limited edition one as well. so i have a new one well so they sed but i fount out it has the componts of a two year old phone and its allwaysss turning off and freezing proper vexes me so i just throw it on floor or hit the screen doesn't work but get the stress out lool !

Possibly the worst phone in existence. I am on my 3rd replacement, first time it wouldnt let me send or recieve messages, so i got it fixed, second time all it would do would switch itself on and off, until eventually i took the battery out and phoned for a new one, third time the screen would freeze and go black whenever i opened it, before finally after a minute or so it would come on, currently it is constantly restarting itself (about 3-5 times a day, even when i'm in the middle of a call!!!) then resetting the wallpaper. HATE THIS PHONE!!! Although it is a nice looking phone (mines is red) it has an average camera, when you use the walkman all the other function are slow...and what is the point of shaking your phone to change the song?? Beats me! Again very "tinny" sound unless you use the headphones. I have now vowed that when i get a new phone (counting the days!!!) i am going to break this phone into little pieces and send it to sony ericsson, to show them exactly what i think!!!

Expensive load of rubbish. Only 4 months old! freezes up, the screen fails to light up and 25% of screen totally black, like an ink stain. I sent it back to sony ericsson to get it sorted under warranty. They sent me a quote for me to pay for the repair, or for me to send alot of money to get my phone back and that they'd dump the phone in 28 days. They will not take responsiblity for the phones problems. The phone number to call was making money out of me for sony ericcson, they have an escualation department but they only esculate your frustration! They won't even give me the head office address! The phones are substandard and the customer procedures are in place to ensure that the customer loses ALOT of money - not them. Hopefully they'll get the message when customers stop buying their rubbish! I've got a nokia n-gage that I still use after 5 years.

Trust me when I say,if I could give this "phone" a minus rating I would! It is a PIECE OF JUNK! I have had it singe August and since September, I too have had the problem of it turning itself off and restarting. I have sent it for repair THREE times and each time it has come back "fixed" its back to the usual a few weeks later. If you are considering getting this phone, my advice to you is "save yourself the time and just throw your money down a drain and watch it drift away". This is not the first SE I have had a problem with but this is definitely the worst. I can say with my hand on my heart that I will NEVER use another SE phone again as long as I live and I will be discouraging family and friends also!

Would advise not to buy this phone. Have had it for 7 months on an 18 month contract and have had to abandon it. Keeps switching itself off and is very very slow at times. As it says above, ut is very good when it decides to work, but increasingly turns itself off as time goes on.

this phone was is soo annoying! i got the LG viewty at christmas (which i don't particularly like either tbh but that is another story). the phone constantly froze and went in to shut down - the screen went blank then it would stall!! and for some reason the texting font on it is huge!! the battery literally lasted me 14 hours! no joke. i got this phone free from orange when i got my contract with them but after i got my new phone i sent this one to envirofone.com and got �40 for it. even though this phone is balls it has earned me a profit .. a small one at that!

Bought this phone about 8months ago LOVED it because i had the new limited addition white & gold one, read reviews about the phne & was worried i might have the same problems but cfw assured me that they had all been fixed but sure enough as soon as i got in the car to come home the phone started swithching itself off. would be a great phon if the floors where fixed but unfortunatly sony dont seem 2 be able to do so. Alot of my friends have this phone & have the same problems. unfortunatly now the screen has smashed & im looking for a new phone not a sony ericsson though.

I have a walkman W910i and i like the phone alot but........ it has its proplems such as freezing and changing all your setting's but apart from that it is a very nice looking phone it has a good music player good and quick internet and good edits. BUT i had a Samsung G600 and i hav to say it was better than this and i wish i still had that phone or maybe a better walkman

The music player is really slow, battery life is quite good and camera's ok. I fond it easy to text with the keypad. Just wish it didnt freeze and restart itself all the time. It's relly annoying.

I like this Phone buh the thing is it sometimes shuts down er frezzes on me. But the music player is amazing realy clear sound. The camera is also as good. The battery is longlasting which i find good. So if yuh want a fone with good music and camera go fer thw sony ericsson W910i.

This phone is rubbish! It continues to turn itself off. The camera is poor, and the media player constantly freezes. A few days ago my phone decided text messaging wasnt for him, and now I cant send texts. Joy! So in conclusion, this phone is rubbish, and is really just an expensive piece of plastic.

i love this phone, good memory, loud for music, good camera but theres ONE probblem it keeps turning itself off and take another 10-15mins to turn back on then it wont let me text anyone. i think that you should be carefull if you get this fone.

Had nothing but problems with this phone. Yes it freezes and turns itself off. It also drops calls all the time and is not reliable. I have finally given up after my 4th w910i. I would not have this phone by choice however my insurance have had enough and are going to give me a different phone. you would be better off with an old Nokia!!

I got this phone for my birthday and was really happy as i had wanted it for a long time, it was new out so there wernt many reviews on it. When i first got it i loved it, then after a few weeks it was freezing and shutting down alot. Overall, i still do love this phone because of how it looks and the wide range of features. If you want a phone for its "looks" i would definitly recomend this one, but if you want a phone for its practicalitys then i wouldnt recomend this. (:

helllloooo :) i got this phone in october for my birthday and loved it. it was the right size, good camera, memory everything that i wanted, apart from when i brought it i wasn't told it was going to turn itself of upto 3 times a day especially when i am on the phone or sending a text! it really started to irratate me so i took it to where i brought it from (o2 shop in portsmouth) and they sent it away for 10 days to 'update the software' when i got it back i was 'assured' the problem was gone. it is now apri and continues to turn itself off three times a day! dont buy this phone!!!

I thought this phone was so good when i got it!! intill i had started havin problems with it! the screws came out of the phone and got trapped so i cudnt slide my phone up or down. it was stuck open. i managed to fix it by pushin on it to make it shut intill the screws flew out. few weeks later the phone kept turnin off! after a few more days i cudnt be on the phone for more than a minute befre it wud turn off agen. i sent it back. i recieved another one after waiting ages. i thought this one would be ok but yet agen strted turning itself off. in the end it jus turned off and never came back on!. the music quality was awful! sounded so tinny. so overall this phone is rubbish. dont ever buy it. sony ecricssons are faulty as i had another one after this but a diff phone and turned off so dont buy them.. iv gone for the new lg ks 360 in pink and cannot wait cuz i told them i didnt want to bother with sony ecrisson phones anymore! x

My young son spent all his pocket money on this phone, only to find it broken within 5 weeks. Sony Ericsson blamed water damage but, on hearing that it hasn't been exposed to water (flag near battery terminals remains white), suggested that sweaty fingers or simply humidity was the cause. Warranty is void nevertheless. Too damn flimsy if you ask me. Don't waste your money.

good phone but like everyone else i have to bring up the fact that it turns itself off whenever it gets a little shock or bump all that happens though is it turns black, vibrates the red light on the back turns on ans after a while it will come back on with no memory and with the profile wallpaper and all you have to do is press menu the go back and everything is back to normal- this is a minor inconvenience and nothing else has happened to mine as of yet and i have had mine for nearly 6 months so get it if like me you can live through this tiny inconvinence hope this helped!!!!

its a great phone and all, but it has frose on me to many times. randomlly it will turn off and say inactive sim, this happens about 5 times a day to me! the camera is not very good, it has no flash and you can hardly see anything when your taking the picture. but on the bright side its great for music and gaming. its eay to use and the volume is really loud. iv had it for half a year nd im getting a new one already because its so irritating!

Like every other user it seems, I think the phone itself would be quite good, if it weren't for the faults. I'm on my third phone now, the previous two kept freezing and crashing, up to 20 times a day or so (more often than not as I received phone calls or text messages). My previous two sony ericcson phones have also been like this, so it doesn't say much for their operating system! The shake feature for changing music tracks is also somewhat pointless, as you need to hold a button down to activate this feature.

I have had nothing but problems with this phone. Only after 4/5 weeks the phone shut down, failing to function at all. I told that it would have to be sent away for repair. (Surely it is faulty, so warrant a replacement. However, knowing what I now know, it would throw it in the bin!!!)I was told that the software had crashed, so I lost all the precious things, numbers, photos, music etc.They did repair only to have the similiar problems on more than half a dozen occasions. If you had an update it would block out for a day or two. If you travelled to France again it shut out for the duartion of the trip. Absolutely worthless!! I again have now suffered total failure, I have waited 3 days now to see if it "comes alive". I think it has finally died the death. So will I send it for repair? Hell no, time to give up on the Sony Ericsson w910i.Somebody I know has just purchased one and they have only had it 2 weeks, already suffered a block out or 2. Obviously sub standar d handset. As you can tell, not a great fan, would reccommend anything else but, even carrier pigeon!!!

Think this is the worst phone i have ever had. With in three months it was back in repair couldnt be fixed and they gave me a completely different phone. The battery was naff no life each night it was having to be charged. Glad i got a new phone but not a great fan of that either another sony erricson dont think ill be getting one of them again.

as i am on contract with this phone i am on my 4th one. the same fault keeps occuring. the phone frezes the screen goes blank and little red light come on at the back. i then have to take ouy the battery to restart the phone. and after a few times of doing this i find that i have lost eveything on the memory. 2 this has happened were the memory card has been swiped. this is unfortunat because apart from that the phone is actully quite good. the pictures nd music are of a high quality and the memory is great. i like the layout ov the phone and i think that it is quite a good looking handset. but i would not advise people to get this phone !!

I bought my daughter this phone April 2008. It has been sent back for repair 3 times and still comes back with the same problem - freezes and says inactive sim! Carphone warehouse replaced the phone with the same 'Helping handset' model within 3 weeks this phone was doing exactly the same as the first with the added feature of next sending texts! Apalling! I paid �149.95 for this phone and it is time that Sony Ericsson admitted that there was a severe problem with this phone and refund all of its customers. I will never buy another Sony ericcson !

First impressions of this phone were wow! It had everything on it anyone could possibly want within a mobile phone. However, just a couple of months into my guarantee and already it was freezing, switching itself off and saying "inactive sim". I was really disappointed, but thought perhaps it was something that could be fixed. The phone has been 'fixed' 3 times, and still does the same thing. I am now FINALLY getting a new phone that will work, after months of trying to get carphone warehouse to agree that the phone is not fit for purpose. I am gutted that the phone has to go back, but hopefully I will now recieve a phone which i am able to use without being cut off at random intervals. I think its about time Sony Ericsson held their hands up and admitted their clear fault with this model. Lets hope the next phone i recieve won't have the same problem, and I'm afraid i will never buy any sony erricsson phone again.

I have never had such a bad expeience with a phone from day one the phone did the frezze, red light, shut off thing.I put up with this with patience even though sometimes it would happen half way through an important message or phonecall and I would loose all the trace of the message. Gradually this became more and more frequent and took longer for the phone to resume one time it turned off 4 times in a row before it regained coverage. Then last night the phone shut off and will not turn back on im so fed up how can a phone company in a competitive market do such a half job and think its acceptable. Would be a great phone otherwise but its just not worth the hassle DONT BUY THIS PHONE.

Have had this phone over a year and a half now and to be honest i still love it. I think the main reason for this is because it's so different, i love the vibrant red colour and the way it feels layed across your hand. i find pretty much every single one of the applications easy and straight forward to use and the memory has been an absolute star, i have 107 songs, 1623 pictures, and 178 videos and still have 293mb free, it's amazing, even after one and a half years i don;t want to trade it in, it really is the best phone i have ever had and i really love it. the freezing hasnt actually been a problem for me yes it has happened a couple of times and sometimes it is slightly annoying but 3or4 times in a year and a half is hardly bad going is it? I absolutely love this phone, A****

Love the handset, the style and the screen. I use my phone for fairly basic things, like texts and calling people. Not big into games and the camera. But I have to say that im highly disapointed in the (it seems very common problems) of key pad freezing (where you have to take the battery out and put it back again) for it to re set it self. The other problem is the 'inactive sim' shut down, open up again and eat a load of battery doing so. This can happen anytime, on a call, half way through a text. Im on my second handset and it still happening. Im going to take mine back and ask for a different model. Beware - this phone is wolf in sheeps clothing!

Have always loved what Sony Ericsson has produced but the W910i is now sitting on my shelf.... dormant. I've gone back to my much more reliable, and much loved, W810i. I don't have access to all the features on the W910i with a prompt saying 'operation failed'. I was told to upload the latest features from Sony's website, which I did, but useless. Phone still didn't work. Then it kept switching itself off and when it came on again, the battery would be very low; so all I ever seemed to do was charge the battery!!!! Not a happy customer at all...

Was really nice to start with....great looking phone and features, but now it annoys me no end! Randomly shuts down or freezes, loses half a battery charge in minutes at times, it hangs during calls so you can't press any buttons on automated calls. Cuts calls off when using the hands free and generally tries to make me want to kill it. I now hate what i once loved.

I saw heere that somebody wrote that the people the write here are one off moaners and that his phone is completely fine, i had my phone bought for me at christmas, and in febuary took it back to 02 as it was freezing (with the red light) at least 3 times a day, they sent it off and back very quickly saying they identified and repaired the fault however, aoruind 3 days later the problem happend again and is now doing it severla times a day again eveyr single day, iv never dropped it or anyhting like that and im fed up with my phone breaking

My phone hasn't froze yet and i've had it since christmas. However i feel that the camera is rubbish, yes i know that it is only 2Megapixels but my old phone which is the Sony Erricsson w610i gives me much better pictures than this one dispite the fact that they both have the same Megapixels.

No never buy this phone, i bought it, and within 3 months It was taken back to the shop and repaired 3 times!!! it kept on freezing and cutting off. The thing is my friends w910i done the exact same and another person that i knew done the same. So i have now bought myself another phone and i love it, samsung tocco, i love it.

i have had mine for over a year now and i simply cannot wait to get my upgrade and get ride of it. First of all when i fist bought the phone it over heated so badly that it became very dangerous and was really painful to even touch, after sending it back i received a new handset and was satisfied up until the first time it decided to switch it self of and then turn back on again with out my permission. again i sent it back but they just sent me the same phone and with in an hour it was back to its evil ways, this really is the worst phone i have every had, some of my friends have bought this phone and they two experience the same problems. Also the phone doesn't let me send text messages sometime; For example i sent a message to a friend on friday then on sunday the same message appeared in my outbox saying it had not been sent! Ericsson i cannot stand this phone and hate it so much, i know for a fact i will never invest in another Sony EVER again!

Really not that great for what it's worth. When you're texting the most important text you can think of, it decides to freeze and turn itself off. I stupidly decided to buy it from Orange so all of the games had been wiped and I only have Orange demo games. The camera is awful at night and looks like something from about 5 years ago. And now, after all the fuss and me giving it the benefit of the doubt... Something's gone wrong with the slide, instead of the smooth slide that's advertised, I've got a lovely crunch. Either a spring or a screw has come loose and completely ruined it. Buy something more useful with your money, a brick or something along those lines

I had to get a phone sharpish and after looking at this or an LG i chose the pink and grey one, it looked nice but it is the worst phone i've ever had. My first sony ericsson had a 2mp camera but the picture quality on this is awful. It likes to cut off in the middle of a phone calls and turn itself off 3-4 times gay. Its a walkman and it did come with a memory card and is good for music but useless for everything else.

I bought this phone about 8 months or so. I experienced the freezing and shutdown issue, which can be annoying because sometimes, you have to remove the battery in order to put it back working properly. I dont know exacly what causes this, but I can tell you that it doesnt happen that much, or at least not enough times to make this phone a useless piece of plastic. I find its screen to be quite good, with excellent resolution. The mp3 player (and the earphones included) are, too, terrific. The keypad is fast, so I dont get why some people have trouble texting with it... It works quite fast and fine. Battery usually lasts for 3 days, which isnt very good, but it depends on the amount of use it gets (as I use it a lot). Its not a life changing device, but I would still recommend it.

my fwend (john) wanted to buy the same phone as me , but he first did a bit of research on the phone he red the same report that i just read and he came to me and ask'd me if this is true (if this has happend to me in the 5 months I had this phone) i answerd him no i have never had a proplem with my phoneand told him he was just reading a bunch of rubbish he gave me the website and i just read it maybe the person that sent u that report did not lok after his phone but sir do not come with this bull to me

well at first i was really impressed with this phone. After four weeks of having my phone it starts to switch itself off. The red light at the back comes on and it vibrates. It does this at least 3 times a day. I am getting fed up of it to be honest.

This phone is a brilliant size, shape, does everything you could want it to....but it's the most unreliable heap of rubbish. I'm on my 3rd replacement handset now, and within two weeks it's developed the very same freezing/power-off/bluetooth connection dropping problem that its predecessors had. It would be the perfect phone, if only it worked.

Have had this phone for 15 months now, it is awful. Mine once restarted itself 8 times in one day! Don't get me wrong it had some good features, and I'm sure it could be a really good phone. I've updated the software umpteen times now and it's never solved the problem. My camera no longer saves pictures, just takes them, never to be found again. I wouldn't say I know everything about phones but I am tech savvy enough to understand it's not my fault. I can't understand why this and other SE phones around this age all have the same problems (some worse than others). Don't buy.

I have always used Sony Ericsson phones but this is the first i've had a problem with. Ear volume is terrible and I often have to use speakerphone just to hear what someone is saying in a silent room and only if I can position my ear exactly - what use is a phone you cant use to talk to people!! Its topheavy and awkward to text on and after a month it had trouble keeping up with me whilst texting. I have regular problems with error messages such as "sim inactive" (which its not cos its the one that came with the phone when I took out the contract!!) and more recently (5 months since I bought it) it randomly freezes and turns itself off, even when fully charged. Support people told me to update software which will hopefully sort out some of the problems, but I dont think this phone will make it to the year mark. Im just glad I kept my old W200i, as for all its flashy technology the W910i doesn't hold a candle to it.

I just want to warn people about this phone. I've had mine since december 08 and i as much as i love all the functions, it switches itself off, freezes, sim-card inactive, the alarm doesnt go off, the wall paper changes itself... honestly the faults are endless. Iv taken it back to carphone warehouse 4 times, each time the told me the fixed the problem, iv had it back from repair about 3 hours ago and its already frozen on me twice. Dont waste your money is my advice, and its such a shame because, when it works, its actually a great phone.

i brought this phone in Febuary this year and within a week of having it it was freezing and turning itself off at least 5 times a day. so i took it back and they gave me another one, same phone and that seemed ok... yet about 2 weeks after having the new one it was doing the same. i took it back again and explained the situation and was told i could have a differet phone. i wouldnt adivse anyone bye this phone as its not good. i was half way through a phonecall for a potentional job interview and it froze and switched off.. needless to say i didnt get the job. thanks alot sony!!

I DECIDES WHEN IT WANTS TO SWITCH OFF! :@ it's so annoying! I have a whole screen full of text that i was sending to my friend , and since the buttons are so hard to text with i text slower then i wud with a different phone , it took me ages to write it all down. Then my phone randomly switched off! I tired turning it on but it didn't work , then 5 minutes later it turned back on again! It didn't save my message i was going to send my friend in my drafts. I think i wasted my money on this phone. I love the size of the screen and how easy it is to use, the camera is great, but i really cant stand it turning its self off evey 10 minutes

I absolutly loved this phone when i first got it, i've had it for 3 months now, over the last few weeks, its very rarely swtiched itself off, but today in the period of 3 hours its switched itself off 9 times, its really annoying me, when its not doing that its a really great phone to use, the textings simple once you get the hang of it and dont mind the slowness compared to other phones, the cameras great and the musics ok, my friend told me that the reason why its switching itself off so regulary is because of the amount of music i have on it, if its meant to be a walkman im pretty sure it should be able to handle large amounts of music stored on it,oh and also, because i switched the sim card, now and again it comes up with "Unknown sim" and it freezes for ages and when you try to turn it off it takes like 5-10 mins to swtich off and on again.. the inbox space is great but i wouldnt reccomend it if you want music storage space and dont like constant restarting it self

I agree with all that has been said about this phone that promised so much but delivers nothing on the basic needs. My phone had caused me nothing but grief since i got it a few months back. It turns off unexpectedly in the middle of a call, connects to a network when dormant, freezes, loses volume on the earpiece after 5 minutes and is generally useless. Sadly for me my supplier want to just keep repairing it, and i haven't got the time or energy for that, i just want a phone that works. Don't buy it!!

I have a Sony Ericsson W910i, and it was given to me as a gift from my brother at the end of October 2008. My brother had warned me that the phone was faulty because many of his friends had the phone but I decided that wanted the phone no matter what. I regret not listening to my brother because now my phone turns off when im listening to music, it freezes and also turns off and when i switch it on its still searching for a reception. Sony Ericsson usually manufacture good phones but I believe that there is a manufacturing fault with the phone. Its not reliable.

Just got it. Realy good phone, everythings fine. Well time will tell, aparently they break after a while however a friend of mines had it for more than a year without problems.

Deduct another 3 stars. My phone has the freezing problem too; it would be a good phone if it worked. It doesn't. I started missing calls, and getting cut off mid-call. In addition, the logo is a cheap sticker and it peeled off, and the gray paint around the phone chipped off. I was just looking at the phone one day and it froze up so I threw it against the wall and now the screen is broken too. I will buy another Samsung or Nokia in future.

This phone is RUBBISH. It turns off ALL THE TIME and lots of people that have it say that its practically fallen apart. Several of my friends can no longer slide it open and closed without FORCING it. DO NOT BUY. While the features are great, its just not reliable.

I am currently using the white model of this phone. I think it's quite a good phone, i hear a lot of complaints from people who are using this phone but i haven't encountered any probs yet. Love the big screen, music player and the design most!~ Just a little sad on the camera part.. It's a great phone, love it..

I love this phone. it works great, its easy to figure out and the camera works well. The camera: The camera is 2 mp which is quite good. It works great however the night mode isnt great. Memory: The phone has a great memory on the memory card. it holds many songs, photos and videos. i have 67 songs and 78 photos on my phone at the moment and there is still loads of memory left. i also have not deleted any messages for 3 months and i send out over 100 text every day. so this proves the how good the memory is. yeah had this for about 6months before it was stolen-my main issue like everyone else was turning off all the time, too often, very annoying-other than that enjoyed the music and video player, and it looked good, but wont be buying another one-maye go for the w960i or samsung omnia, just not sure it has the sound quality of sony ericssons..

I've had this phone since mid-Oct and have persisted with it even though on the odd occasion it would switch itself off. But now it won't allow me to send or receive text messages! Operation failed comes up when you try to enter the inbox, outbox etc and sending failed when you attempt to send one. Phone now back with T-mobile for repair. They concluded it was the software on the phone that's at fault after checking all the settings. Leaving me with an old Motorola as a loan replacement phone for a week or 2. Time for Sony to admit theirs serious problems with these phones! Generally the rest of this phone is OK but the camera is poor especially annoying is the fact it doesn't have a flash and you can't help but get your screen covered in fingerprints opening and shutting the slider.

i have had this phone since last feb, i really wanted it at the time and i loved the style. but ater a few months i have had it, it started playing up it always started to freeze and a red light come on and it automatically turned it self off and after a while it got into the habbit and kept doin it. it happens about twelve times in a day and seriously winds me up. and the battery is really bad it doesn't last as long as the other phones i have had. the walkman is good but the camera i hate it don't have a flash and the pictures always turn out dark & the keys on my phone are stiff. and it doesn't let me send messages and recieve them as well. the volume on this phone isn't as loud so am kinda dissapointed in that to. i would never go for this phone again i cannot stand it and the shake doesn't always work! i have had a few S.E and they have all had a common fault my old S.E w810i if you knok the side of it, it just automatically turns off. i wouldn't go for this phone and the price of it is to exspensive for what it is!! i had mine at the time for about �250! but t he style of it is nice butmines wrecked now the silver parts on my phone has come off and at the back the Walkman sign has peeled off! soo i suggest ppl not to get this phone because i regreted it but take the risk..x

i had 6 of the phones from my contracter, the first one i got i thought was very good until i had it for a few days and it started too freeze and turn off. i was always a sony erricson fun until now and i think this phone is very dissapointing so i would not reccomend it.

There seems to be a common fault for this phone and unfortunately it seems to be the same for mine. The phone continuously locks out, with the screen going black, but the backlight staying on, and all the buttons on the phone turning their lights on including the red light by the camera, when it does this it also vibrates. It then won't work until the battery is removed and replaced again. This has been happening for awhile and I have just been persevering, seeing it as just being a bit of a nuscience. However, a couple of days ago the phone wouldn't turn on without locking out, meaning the phone was completely useless. It has now been sent off for repair, but to be honest if you are thinking about buying this phone I wouln't recommend it. Four of my friends have it, and every one has the same problem. It is obviously a fault with all of the phones and not just my handset. So, if looking for a reliable phone, do not get this one.

had phone for 18months, been taken back just as many times. Freezes every 10 miniutes, and has done for 18months. Speaker doesnt work, volume does not go high. got charged �60 for internet charges, when i didnt even go on it- it automatically went on internet after it froze. Not recomeneded, proper sik if you got insuranced tho...not it u havnt ha

i have had this phone for a year, i must admittt that it started out ok. however it began to freeze and shut down and a little redl light would show up at the back of hte phone. Also it likd to shut down for no particular reason, the screen has practically fallen off and i have recentley been using cellotape to stick it on. my advice would be get a NOKIA as my mum had hers dropped it down the toilet and it still worksz :| dont recoomnet sony ericsons they break FAR TO EASILI are not durable and are in one word rubbish ! :) regards josie

I have had this phone since September 2008, and after one month started experiencing the problem of the phone freezing, or switching off and somtimes restarting. After afew months of dealing with this I complained and recieved a new phone, same model and yet again this problem occurs. I find it occurs mostly when I recieve a text or am writing a text.

this phone isn't very good at all. it looks nice but, mine resets itself a lot. i had mine on my contract and its already broken 3 times in the last 4 months! i had a problem with the screen when all this black stuff came out of it! would not recomend this phone to anybody, i would defenitly opt for another phone! x

i bought 2 of these phone for myself and my son after first few weeks phone keeps turning itself off when you could be writing a text or just making a call was switching itself off 3/4 times a day...looked this problem up online and seems everyone has the same problem..these phone are going back to the shop...anyone thinking of buying this phone stay well away!

When i first saw this phone I was really impressed simple and stylish. Ive had sony Ericssons before so I thought I could trust it. Unfortunately it's such a simple phone, with a small camera and limited functionality that I started getting tired of it very soon after I bought it. After about 4 months it started switching itself off - and crashing, and generally being a pain. I have had it off to be fixed 3 times, and I am waiting to see if it is working again but want a new phone. Sorry Sony, this one aint a good un -

A good phone while it last's. In my opinion not worth taking a risk - have got through two of them - not going for a third, instead looking at some Samsung's. Sorry Sony Erricson, when you start making phone's that actually work and don't just look good I might come back but until then....

Hey. was looking for a contract phone. got offered the sony ericsson w910i thought wow thats a nice phone. After the 1st couple of days it would shut itself down and turn itself back on at 1st i didnt mind. but now ive have the phone for atleast 2 months and now it shits down up to 10-15 times a day and becomes very anoyying. On my opinion i would suggest this phone to anyone as 4 of my friends also have this phone and have been through the same out comes, 2 of them have even smashed their phone up because of this. SO MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET RIPPED OF!!!!

I love this phone and it is brilliant for teenagers like me, being a walkman- good for music the camera is great but not at night. PROBLEM 1: I got this phone 6th October 08. it worked like magic and i was totally obsessed with it but then i noticed it started to turned off a bout 1 month or so later. i thought i was over re-acting because it only turned off about twice in 2 weeks. but then it became more frequent. I told my parents and they sed they would send it back. i soon started to panic had i broken it, if i had would i have to pay for it to be repaired. i told my parents this so they phoned up where we got the phone and they sed to download a software so we did and the phone stopped turning off PROBLEM 2: then we got the problem of it sending messages straight to the inbox. Again we phoned up complaining and they sed to take out the battery pack and sim card because there was probably some dust or something in there- that too stopped. PROBLEM 3: Soon the phone started switching off again- sometimes 3-4 times a day and once it turned off for 10 mintues straight. I didnt understad why. We are going to send it back on the monday so i have had to cope PROBLEM 4: Now my new problem is the sim card. i turned the phone on this morning and my pictures and music had gone. i couldnt understand why and so i tried everything to get it back. i managed to get them back by turning on the sim card but then later on they all went again i took the sim card out again but it has not come back- it has now bin 5 hours and nothing has returned. the phone is going straight back asap. I dont know why it is causing such problems. i have at least 5 other friends with the same phone and they have not had any of these problems. I'm hoping we can get it fix because it is a great phone. Im still have not decided if i will get the same phone incase the problem does not get solved. I hope i helped you make the right decision and i dont want you to totally change your mind about buying this phone- mine might just be a fluke. i reccomend you give it a try it might work and if it dont you can send it back. hi well i like my sony ericson apart from it keeps re seting with the red light on the back on and says inative sim its does this 10 times a hour when ever somebody calls me it does it and also does it when i get texts or play music its reli reli starting to wind me up alot of my mates have these fones and theres do it too so if i send it back its just going to do it again so ive no idea what to do

I've got mine for 2 months now. the speaker sounds fuzzy. after a month my husband sent a text message then i put it in my pocket. wondering why the reply took so long i took it out & it was off. when i switched it back on lines started appearing. it was still under warranty ofcourse but vodacom refuses to believe it & says it must have had a really bd fall - which it didn't. i had to pay R460 for a new lcd on a one month old phone and now again i see a blue faded dot on the lcd, again - it has never been dropped - so whats the excuse now. i moved to sony ericsson because all my family have it & praise it but even my k850i under warranty is now displaying a message that says "charging alien battery" that with an original battery and an original charger and that phone is only 4 months old, cell c claims that is water damage and it hasnt been near water & has had a protcetive cover on since it came home with me. i honestly don't know what phones to buy anymore.

i'm 14 years old and i needed a good phone for music and everything- you no us teenagers and i apparently this was a really good phone. However-I don't no if it is just my phone -but my phone keeps turning its self off. i was really excited about getting this phone and the people in the shop sed it was an amazing phone, so i got it. for the first few weeks it was perfectly fine and i was totally obsessed with it. But then it started to turn itself off at least 3 times a day almost everyday. i complained to my mum because it was so fustrating so she sed she would send it back. in the end we spoke to someone about it instead of taking it back since i needed it almost every day. they told us to download this software. after we downloaded the software it worked fine but again after about 4 weeks it started turning off again. it might just be my phone since i no 4 other people with the same phone and they'res are fine. i have also found that it would stop sending messages a few times so i would have to take the battery and sim card out and reload eveything. it's not doing that much no more but very occasionally it will- luckily i no how to fix it now. it is a very good phone otherwise, with a very good 2 mp camera, easy to work and easy to type on [for me anyway].

I bought this on Saturday from the CPW and when I unpacked everything. What a disappointment I have to buy the following to get the best out it Set of headphones A memory stick Bluetooth headset What a bunch of rip offs Sony Ericson are why sell a Walkman phone without headphones or a Handsfree kit most of the others do. It is like buying a car without wheels. I wanted to take it back but the CPW people said if there is no fault the wont refund. Great more money to be spent.

Had it over 2 weeks now, its brilliant. Great design, great price for what's included in this phone. It is such a light phone, you would not believe. It is easy to use. Unless i am one of the lucky customers who got one of the great models. Please don't listen to the other reviews, its a fantastic phone. Really pleased. Charge for 3 - 4 hours on day on purchase. DO NOT switch on until fully charged for best battery life.

I have just been bought my 2nd one of these phones (by my partner who thought it was just the 1st one that was a dud). WRONG!! afetr 2 days this new one started to freeze and turn itself off. Its a rubbish phone and we are bringing it back. Incidentally T mobile alledgly repaired the 1st one 6 times but it could not be fixed. Do NOT buy this phone!!

Got the phone for christmas and i was really pleased cause this was the phone that i wanted. I didn't mind that the phone kept on switching itself off or anything until today when all my music files will not play because it keeps on saying it's failed. i was really exited when i got this phone and i thought it looked good.However after a few weeks it started crashing and turning of for no reoson.Ive had this phone for 7 months now and cant wait to get a new phone as the crashing happens at least once a day now.The speackers are rubbish compared to other walkmans.I have taken it into repair 3 times because of the crashing but the problems still exists.Although the phone is nice looking,good walkmen syterm etc the crashing lets it down :(

i got this phone for xmas in pink and grey and i think its amazing the music and sound is great only problem is every now and then it will freeze and switch off but this seems to bne all sony ericson phones not just w910i as most of my familty have on but on the whole this phone is great and all sony ericsons worth buying

I got this phone in Lipstick Pink with the flowers on the back because it was nice looking but also had a good music player. I really like the phone but every few days it freezes up then I have to switch it back off and on. I would recommend the phone...the freezing doesn't bother me too much but I know for some that is just not good enough. But I'm happy :)

Why does my sony ericsson phone keep sayin inactive sim and restrating on me then working fine again? It reall annoys me because it also restrts and freezes in the middle of a phone call aswell and i haven't had this phone long!! Why does my battery keep going down even though i hardly use it 2!

I am on the 4th handset and still getting the same problems reported here. Phone reboots and freezes, erratic signal and now I am starting to get problems with music playback. After such a poor experience over this many handsets, I have to question whether any giving this handset a good review is a Sony Ericcson plant. BUY THIS HANDSET AND YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I had the phone three months, when I noticed several of the keypads had split in the middle. A month later all my keypads were cracked. To make matters worse, the phone will shut down. My phone company offered to send me a new phone. I have had enough of this phone.

I just got this phone and i think its great since ive only upgraded from an ancient nokia. somethings i dont like about it though, ringtone & speaker volume is kinda low, texting is annoying with the small flat buttons which im kinda getting used to. also im afraid to keep it in my pocket as i fear the screen will crack or get scratched. no flash in the camera was a let down too so its not much good at night. other than those little things im well happy with it myself.

im 12 years old, i have had this phone for over 3 months now, and every day about 5 times aday, the phone freezes, and the red light comes on at the back, i wonder, is it because i ues this phone so much. i love everything else about the phone, but it is really putting me off sony erricsons now. the camera is pretty bad, but i dont use it because i have an actual camera, i loved this phone at the start, but it is very boring. sorry sony erricson, but im not overly happy.

as far as i know; the reason for all sony ericsson phones shutting down is due to the battery being loose. to fix this problem you'll need to tighten the screw that support the battery around the inside of the phone. It is Not just that W910i that freezes, its all sony ericsson's which is a problem they really, really need to fix.

Well what can I say about my w910i, wicked phone at the start but after a little while it gets from worse to worse... ive had it for two months and slider not working making dodgey sounds, like sum other comments decides to turn off and on weneva it wants to, and volume of speaker very low... im a music guy i love music buh dis phone is sorri to say rubbish for music... and the worst thing is I bought it less then a year and they wont send it 4 manufactual fault repair wdf! I sent ma otha phone wiv same problem... aniwaiz over all not a decent phone to buy jus flashy for a little while.... Inabit...

I bought this phonecas a big Sony Ericsson fan but now I have lost my confidence in the company. In the first 3 months I had to send my phone back twice first with a broken screen then it after two weeks of having it back the buttons stopped working so I had to send it back again!!!! It also turns itself off atleast twice a month.

good phone, however the screen did crack during the winter weather in early 2009. although the part came quickly and was easily installed it was still inconvenient. this is not a down point of the phones strenghth because i was sledging at the time over a ft tall jump, it was mint anyway the phone, really good, does'nt freeze like everyone says. THEY LIE TO YOU. great sound quality and quite loud too. easy to use with a great design, very sleek. about it. BUT MINT :D

I have had so many problems with this phone, and i can see below how many other people have as well. Over time, bits of the phone have just come off, such as the screen cover pulling away, and the sides coming loose. A friend, who also has this phone, had this problem to a greater extent, where the screen pulled away so far the buttons fell out and got lost! Another problem is that the sliding mechanism will just suddenly seize, so you cant slide it up even slightly. The only option is to get it replaced, which i did. The biggest problem is that of it turning itself off all the time. Over the last two days, it hasnt stayed on long enough for me to check my inbox. I think that involves pressing 3 buttons! It wont stay on long enough for that! I experienced another issue when i first got the phone, brand new - many features didnt work, they just didnt open. These were the music player, messages, and games, to name a few. Since then I have had 3 or 4 of these phones and all of them have been a nightmare. This should be a great phone in theory, but it is quite frankly appalling. Many of my friends also have this phone, and ALL of them have had these problems. Even people with other models of Sony Ericsson have similar problems. I cant wait to get rid of this phone, and I will NEVER buy a Sony Ericsson again, EVER. I really would advise you to not buy this phone too.

I love mine. I only have 1gig of music on it and it works pretty good. the camera quality is very good in daylight (annoying you cant zoom on photos or flash) but the music player sounds a bit tinny and is quite quiet. Ocassionaly it vibrates and resets itself (takes about 3 minutes to reload) but other than that its perfect. I can definitely live with these few minor faults as the rest of the phone is absolutely perfect. Just wish i had got the red one instead of the balck one :D. the people who are complaining about this phone and not recommending it, i understand that the few minor problems are annoying, but it is no way as bad as they make out. I would definitely recommend it. I love mine.

This is the worst phone I have ever bought, it may look ok but the keys are terrible when texting. The worst thing is the camera, I assumed being 2mp it would be better than my previous, very reliable Nokia 6230i 1.3mp that was 5 years old but you can take better pics with those throwaway fun cameras. I will not buy another Sony for many years, what a waste of over �100!

I've had this phone for nearly 18 months now and can't wait to get my upgrade. It's the worst mobile phone I've ever had and am so disappointed with lots of aspects. At first I loved the phone, although the lack of flash for the camera is pretty disppointing, then it started to crash. I've tried the software updates online which do little to help the problem with the phone and it's also been sent back to SE and came back reset. The problems have just continued though and it crashes even when it's sitting on a table or desk and I'm not even touching it!!! The screen is now failing as well and the panel at the botom of the keypad keeps coming off (since it went back to SE). The plastic over the buttons is broken in places as I do text a fair amount but nowhere near many other users. I would advise people against getting this phone and go for something more reliable i.e. NOT a SE as their phones seem to have major software issues at present! Happy hunting for a problem free mobile.

I previously had the W810i sony se phone, which never broke, froze and still works even now after having it for what....3 years? Ive had this phone for not even a year, and it has frozen more times than i can remember, turns itself off, has actually burnt my hand when i was calling someone, and has had to be sent off to be repaired twice now, which costs me money each time. In my opinion, its a phone which has lots of features, some of which work yeah sure. But the rest of the phone is a giant waste of money.

i have had my phone Sony (w910i) since 6 oct 2008 which i returned on Nov 22 for repair,it switched itself off, switched off then on again, froze while texting.On Feb 16 it was returned to Sony with the same faults. After the first repair i was told i would have no more problems but the problems have returned. as i need my mobile for my job and personal reasons i am very diappointed with this model.i have looked on the internet about this model and it seens i am not the only one with these problems.if the problems could be sorted out this would be an excellant phone

When i first got this fone i was in love with it.. I mean all my friends had it and a few complained about it but so what i thought?! HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN! Its designed for music.. the only time it freezes and shuts off is when im on music.. its so tempermental. THeres no flash, i cnt zoom in normal mode and it shuts off 2 times a day saying inactive sim... Im not sending it off an not havin a fne for 28days, im just going to have to live with it. Worst SE i have had. Miss my old one :( better camera, memory and music player.. Bring back classic styles i say.

got this fone at xmas. as it is branded with vodafone im not too happy but AMAZING WITH ALL MUSIC FUNCTIONALITY AND GAMING. people having trouble with it freezing and restarting yeah i get it every now and then but the only reason is, is because i click something whilst it is trying to load everything. 2mp camera, sounds rubish but the quality of the screen makes it look like 5mp. 3g, super fast and no trouble at all. trackid, musicdj,videodj,photodj and every item in organizer and tools works superbly. bluetooth is best it can get and all that fits into a slim slider WoW phone. good price too.

this is a great phone in theory. I love the sony ericsson software, really easy to navigate, text on, etc. Problem is, mine just wasn't reliable. Only had it a few months and started to get problems.... phone would work great, until switched it off... I would then have to try hundreds of times to get it to come back on. It's got progressively worse, now it only turns on once in a blue moon. So I've reverted back to an old phone. Also, the earpiece has always been rather tinny when in a call.

i have a w910i with 3 and over the half the time it is roaming or on g with 0-1 bars and constantly fluctuating usually i only get planet 3 lite which is very annoying when you have value packs. I know its the phone and not the sim three are okay they just got dudded by sony. good walkman though.

Had it for an year. Sluggish operation, hangs often or reboots. Super-low speaker quality, I was left pressing the phone hard to my ear whenever I was outside. Walkman quality's good, but that the phone's really sluggish diminishes its quality for me, who's needs his phone to be responsive, and not wait at times up to 10 seconds for the phone to respond.

I've had mine since christmas and its the silver one. Its a good phone, at first it kept turning off but not it hasn't done it at much. Its nice and slim and very stylish. I guess its luck what kind you get, if its the one that works fine and one that works bad.

RECOMMENDED FOR BUYERS WHO HAS SOME BRAINS. Firstly once you buy this phone,go online and download the latest software and install it in your w910i,and if you are willing to pay 25bucks more,some retailers can and will switch the 2megapixel camera into a 3.2 or 5 megapixel.And the phone restarts itself BECAUSE it is clearing memory for YOU.Furthermore my phone has COMPLETELY no problems at all.I downloaded an illegal walkman function to give my speakers a HUGE boost.Do the same?

i have had 6-7 of these phones due to a fault whereby the phone switches itself off repeatedly... As i am on contract they keep sending me new phones. but i wouldn't reccomend this phone as once the fault starts it gradually gets worse! I have had the same problem with every w910I i have had. Plus the screen is so huge it gets scratched very easily. Phone is not one that i would buy again.

Had my phone for about 3 months now and first concept of it EXCELLENT, stylih but soon after it started to crash and now i have just sent it back as the display began showing lines and it got worse and worse for about 3 days until i could only see 3/4 of the screen. I recommend not to buy this phone or most Sony Ericsson, unless you want a camera phone as the cybershot ones are good. HOPELESS PHONE!!!!

heres my opinion .. i have had this phone from the begining of october, FROM O2! its not the network that causes the phone to be "bad" this phone is amazing. i have had many phones, nokias, samsungs, and many others .. sony ericson is the best company i have come across! you get faulty things with everything, not just this phone guys. come on, get your act together. open your eyes a little bit! this phone is great .. im recomending this phone to all the readers. dont let wingers get you down! you cant buy something and think its going to be perfect, come on .. have a little bit of fun? take the risk, if its a bad phone for you then thats bad luck. but dont blame o2 for this either, if your on o2 stay to your network, dont worry about it! :D

Ive had so many problems with this phone it is unbelievable. I am now on my 5th yes 5th handset. I have had problems similar to the ones that i have read about. Do not buy this phone unless you want to spend hours on the phone to customer care services trying to understand what they are saying and forever being put on hold. I got the phone on contract because i liked the look of it and i had been told that it was a great phone and there were no reported problems with it. However I now know that this is not the case. The day after i got my first handset it was turning itself off and then on again and there was nothing i could do to stop it apart from taking the battery out. They swapped it and gave me a different one. I then had problems with it not letting me send or receive text messages or even look at ones that i had previously sent or received, it came up operation failed on the screen. The phone went off to be fixed. I then got the phone back and it behaved for about a week and then started doing it again. So off it went to be fixed. I then went to go and pick the phone up and they had sent me someone else's phone. Not a happy bunny by this point. They spoke to the manager in the store that i took it to and they decided the best thing would be to give me another new handset. So on and so on. The phone behaved itself all over christmas and at the end of January decided that it was going to mess about again and died. I tried to turn it on and it just glowed. So i rang up customer care and they sent me a new phone. It lasted just TWO WEEKS and as i am on a personal contract they cannot give me a different handset they are sending me yet again another new W910i. So please do yourself a favour however nice this phone looks dont buy it unless you want pocketfuls of hassle.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PHONE! I got this phone as I have always been impressed with Sony Ericsson's and believed that this would be similar to my previous ones. I no longer have this phone but when I did have it, in the space of 12 months, I went through 16 handsets. I am not a complaining person but I had no other choice but to constantly complain to my network and they have now offered me another phone. First of all this phone TURNS itself off. You are mid text - *buzz* it vibrates and turns off then turns itself back on and you have just lost everything in your text! This happens ALL the time. If you are spending more than 5mins doing something, e.g. looking through pics, surfing web, texting etc. Just turns itself off and sometimes doesnt even come back on and you need to take out the battery and put it back in! I have never had so much trouble! I have also had them sent back because the battery life is appauling, will decide to charge sometimes and then others it wont. I also had problems with 3G. I was unable to send text messages with my 3G turned off so constantly had to go into mobile networks and take it off and then reset phone to factory settings and loose everything I had on my phone. I have also had with another handset that the camera didnt work and if you clicked on the camera. Your phone would freeze and you would need to take the battery out. Its honestly an appauling phone and I had such good expectations of it. My brother has had the same problems with this model and so have a couple of people from my work. All I am saying is thank god I had phone insurance!

the phone is not worth its money although its good music features the phone always seems to freeze and shut down.i have the phone and it seems to do this at least twice a day this gets very irritating as you can be doing something e.g a text and the phone will shut down and not save whatever you was doing .therfore i would not reccomend the phone for theese reasons.

This is now the second of these phones I have been sent by my contract provider. The first one I was sent crashed and froze constantly and then the text feature crashed so they had to send me a replacement which hasnt been much better. This one I have now had for 4 months and it regularly crashes and freezes and the only way to fix it is to remove the battery and put it back in again. Just about to change it for a C902

Personally i absolutely love this phone! the best phone I've ever had! I find it so easy to use and i love the shaker technology. However, it is very annoying that there is no flash. I know that is it a 'walkman' phone, but they could of at least put a flash on it. Also have to agree with other reviewers - the phone does freeze and goes into 'non-active sim' mode. Which is very frustrating. But overall i really do like this phone.

this phone simpally doesn't work. After turning its self off on a regular basis, around 2-3 times a day, it takes ages to re-boot. it freezes even more often and takes ages to sort itself out

I loved this phone when i first got it but a few days ao it broke, the battery went and the phone started to heat up. I hate this phone so much. I do no recommend it to anyone. The only good thing was the memory card which i pulled out and put in my new phone the Sony Ericsson W580i which is a much better phone which i had before and i lliked it so much i got it again.

I have had this phone since October, and it always freezes which is really annoying. It is a good phone when it works properly, but the freezing lets the phone down big time. Im tempted to switch bk to using my old Sony Ericsson W810i.

This phone is the worst phone i've had. Red light syndrome is the bane of my life!!! All its done since i've had it is switch off, freeze, and vibrate when it wants. Now compleatly died. Am on orange so not just o2. And not just moaning as people below have said, know many people that have had the same problem. One is even on 3rd handset thanks to oranges "like for like" policy meaning she's stuck with this rubbish phone, as am i. Looks great but so does a snowglobe and that would probably be more reliable for making phone calls. If you want a pretty bit of useless plastic get this phone otherwise stay clear! hate this phone and orange "like for like" as stuck with it. Doesnt even deserve 1 star.

I agree with alot of the other comments, when i first got this phone i thought it was fantastic but it then started turning itself of whenever it felt like it. it would also freeze alot of the times and if i was in media player and say i got a text it would be very slow to have to write a reply. yesterday it completely turned of and wouldnt turn back on again im just waiting to see if it can be fixed!

I recieved this phone for my birthday last year and it was amazing. It did everything I needed and I thought it was the best phone I've had. That is until a few weeks ago when my phone just turned itself off and wiped the memory card. The phone now won't accept any memory card and so I have no pictures, videos or music which was one of the main features I liked about the phone. It is brilliant with everything else like sending messages, its battery lasts a long time and the internet works fast. The other problem I have with it is that every hour the phone resets itself which becomes quite annoying. Also, the phone keeps freezing when I'm in the middle of writing texts or when I am on the phone to someone it will just turn off. Overall, it is a quite good phone with some glitchs which need sorting out.

Do not buy it. I bought one and i bought my son one. Both of them crash. Mine phone is on contract and it has been in for repair 3 times now, it came back and crashed within 2 hours of getting it back from the shop. i have now put the money towards the 595.

At first this phone was amazing, i've had it for about a year now (as this is my second one after old one frooze) and for about 6 months it has began to start turning itself off and doing all sorts of things- a typical sony ericson thing i have notcied! It seems like the manufacter have only concintrated on the goodies, not the real phone. I now am going to have to find a new phone but i don't think i'll be going back to sony anymore.

i looked at this phone a while ago when it only just came out and unfortunatley no one could tell me if it was a good phone to have. i bought it and within the first week it was shutting down about 2 times a week. but now i have it freezing everyday and it turns off about 3 times a day. it's camera isn't that good either. and the music freezes too.

Sorry for long review but it us important. I used this review before asking for this phone for Christmas and was kinda put off, as majority of people said not to buy it. I got this phone for Christmas 2008 and within a week it did start to freeze alot. I brought the phone back to O2 and told them it is known all over the internet and even states in wikipedia that this phone freezes. The salesman was a great help and actually FIXED MY PHONE. He said that it is a common problem in phones and it is fixable! To stop your w910i freezing PLEASE READ - Go to SETTINGS then go to CONNECTIVITY in that menu go to MOBILE NETWORKS then GSM/3G NETWORKS and click GSM ONLY. Eversince the salesman done that, my phone hasn't crashed and has been perfect and that was a month ago. I think this phone is great and worth the price. The texting is good, excellent music player, the camera is good enough for a 2pixel and there is an option to brighten photos and change colours. There is even an entertaining slideshow which plays music whatever you feel. The loudspeaker for blaring music is crap and not great but listening through earphones the sound is crystal. Yes I would recemmend this phone.
