The Sony Ericsson W810i is a great top of the range Walkman phone. It weighs 99g and is a straight design available in satin black with stylish orange highlights.
It has an excellent 2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, a flash and autofocus. The autofocus automatically focuses the camera on a particular subject rather then using a fixed focus distance. The camera is easy to use and has easy access controls for the zoom, autofocus and the shutter. Controls for the contrast, image effects and size can also be accessed easily and you can switch to video recording mode simply by flicking the joystick up.
The display is a large TFT so can be viewed even in bright sunshine. It has 262k colours and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. This is typical for this price range however some phones have a better resolution of 240 x 320 pixels such as the W850i.
The W810i has an excellent stereo MP3 player and an FM RDS radio. It comes with music management software (Disc2Phone) that allows you to transfer music files from a PC to your phone along with the information about the artist, album and the track. The Walkman music player button on the front of your phone instantly activates the music player and plays the last track you were listening to. The RDS feature on the FM radio brings information from the radio station directly to the phone's display.
With 20MB of internal memory and the option to expand this to 512MB with an external memory card, you can store up to 175 songs on your phone.
It has a 40-voice polyphonic sound enabling 40 notes to be played simultaneously so the polyphonic and MP3 ringtones sound good. In this price range however there are phones with a much better polyphonic sound such as the W900i that have a 72-voice sound.
Bluetooth, USB and infrared are the three connections available for this phone. Using the USB cable allows you to connect your phone to a PC, whilst Bluetooth and infrared are a wireless connection to another device with the same capabilities. The range for Bluetooth can be up to 10 metres apart.
The W810i has a full-function internet browser that connects with EDGE giving you up to three times faster communication rates then GPRS.
This phone operates on a quad-band frequency so is capable of working in Europe, America and Japan. The battery life is also really good as it has a standby of 350 hours.
Overall this phone is great value for money with top features such as the Walkman music player and camera. With excellent memory you can use these great features to their full extent. We would definitely recommend this phone.

I just bought this phone 3 days ago. Read great reviews. Unfortunately when I got it home windows would not recognize the software it came with, it was not Vista friendly. I was so upset, The retailer said I may have to pay a return charge because of the policy. I call Sony Ericsson and glad I did. They assurred me that a Vista software will be ready by July. I have to wait a couple months to get it's full enjoyment. Because of my disapointment I will give it a 4 star.

OMG! A BRILANT PHONE! i have onli had it a week and im in love with it,its really loud and everything you would want in a phone! The choclates look nice but no way are they as good as these! these rule!! If you get one YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN!!

very good phone,hold so many songs its unbeliveable. I heard rumours that put over 100 songs and your phone freezes when you are trying to answer the phone, while playing music. Nope worked perfectly but signal was problem. Brand nwe it was great,then got worse. Stil got lyk 3 or 4 bars but sometimes should get better.

IV HAD THIS PHONE FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS NOW AND IT IS THE BEST PHONE I HAVE EVER HADGOOD SOUND PIC QUALITY AND THE CAMERA IS REALY GOOD. the phone comes with 3 working ring tones the rest are all blocked so you cannot use the factory rings as rings or even as alarm tones this is not a defect this was done intenionally , out of 7 ring tones i just downloaded off the phones preset internet on the sites provided 2 work as ring tones the other 5 i can listen to but cant use as a ring , but a polyphonic phone at least you have a large variety of free rings that came with it that work , all brands makes and models use to have around 30 ring tones that came with it for free that you could use for daily alarms o, one time alarms, ring tones , profile tones , assigned rings , personalized rings game backrounds, even for each text message , and you never had to deal with what you can and cannot do with a ring the phone came with , buy an old polyphonic phone cherrish it and for get the new tech with all its restricions and politics... its just a phone

Have to say this is the best phone I have ever had.. And I have had so many (nokia, samsung, motorola etc) I forget which..! Have never had a problem with it, no tech faults, usability issues etc. Although you can sometimes switch the walkman on by accident in your pocket.. (key lock helps, i guess...) Easy to add tunes from computer and vice versa, looks great, sound is awesome and it's compactness is as good as you are going to get.. If I had one issue with it, it would be the fact that it is damn hard to find... being black it can be easy to lose... spent 10 mins once trying to find it in the car after it had dropped down between the seats.. silver would have been easy to spot..!! But I guess the answer is not to drop it.. Lol.. Oh.. another issue is that you can't charge and listen to tunes at the same time.. with headphones that is..!! Very annoying..!! Have been going through all these reviews since it is upgrade time.. and to be honest.. gonna stick with this since I have not been persuaded by any other phone on the market..!! Fancied the Nokia N95... One day standby..!! No use to man or beast..!! Fly to Australia with a phone full of tunes and will conk out before you got halfway there...!! Waste of time until they sort the battery out..! This the the Delta Bravo of all phones over the last 2 years..!! Can't recommend it more..!! Rock on Sony Ericsson.. Viking heros..!!

Have had this phone nearly one year - can't see ANYTHING I want/need to upgrade to. The perfect phone - pictures are excellent; love the radio; music is top class; use this for getting up in the morning! Thanks for your reviews they really help clarify my decision making.

Its a good phone, but it sometimes turns itself off, and the MP3 player starts to make funny noises sometimes... this is probably due to the fact it got wet!!! but generally an excellent phone.

This is the best phone i have ever use, when compare with k750i, the screen quality is better, just that the sound quality is lower a little bit.. just a little... Not much.. But it is definitely clearer and less treble sound when put in ringtone than the k750i ..I like it because it is a walkman phone and it got everything you need. Plus it is Not as bulky as the w850i.. walkman phone need to be small -__^ o you can carry around easily

I had this phone after loosing my k750i. The phone was amazing did everything you wanted it to do. I brought the 2gb memory card to store all my music on and its worth it. The camera on the phone is amazing best 2mp camara i had ever seen. I even lost it down a drain and still works. lol. Great phone its gotta b said it dont u think it looks mint but if you are going to get 1 get the white 1 becuase black is getting to popula. sfe sfe

Totally amazing phone! i have had it since christmas 2007 and i absoloetly love it. Sadly i am getting the samsung d900 tommorow. But the w810i is soo easy to use and i mean it. The sound quality is excellent and you even have an equliser so if you dont like the sound of someones voice, you can turn the oice volume down. Pretty good camera but the only thing is that you have to keep your hand really still if you're taking a picture. All in all its the best phone iv'e ever had. I upgraded to it from the sony ericsson s700i and although the s700i is a lot bigger it isnt as far as good. GET IT PLEASE!

yeah!!! i have this phone and it is the best!! i've had it since july 2006 so it's gettting a bit old and i'm lookin for an upgrade soon but it is still a hard phone to beat. my friend got the newest sony ericsson walkman w880i or something and it is really nice but this phone has everything good whereas hers is just music really and doesn't have as good camera feature as this phone does. I was a bit jealous of her phone because it had more memory than mine- i had 512mb and she had 1gb but then my dad bought me a 2gb for this phone and now this phone is absolutly perfect and i'm now unsure of what phone to upgrade to since mine is so good already!!! Anyway, LOVE THIS PHONE!!

It was a toss up between the K800,W850 and the W810i. Wasn't sure at the beginning because the write ups on the k850 (which is now a year old)wern't too good.The 850 I tried in a T-Mobile shop seemed a bit tired and the slide mech had given up...limp...worn out,nasty.So it had to be the 810i...WOW what a machine,very very nice and understated.I have yet to use all the applications but first impressions are A1 !!

I LOVE THIS PHONE!i had a keyocera slider that had nothin on it. this phone is amazing! i luv the size, and the camera. i also really like that when you go into a dareker place or room the kepad gets brighter and so does the screen! it is an AMAZING phone. it has music, radio almost anything i can possibly think of for a phone. it has great service as well(try cingulair)you deffinetley hav to get this phone. i hav had it for 5 days and i am in love with it. i still didnt learn the phone completley bc there is soo much on this phone!!!! You have to buy it! (i always get complements on this phone too)

The features of this phone is qaulity in the making, it has an outstanding camera and the video quality is much better than my previous k750i, themes are really good, the colour is wicked plus its so brighter, ringtones & radio are much louder which I like and this phone has everything to compete with!!!!!!!! SE RULES, nokia sucks. Get this phone if you love qaulity!!!!!!!!!!

This phone is very good and having exchanged my K610i (which would have been my perfect handset if it had a decent camera) for this I've noticed few deficiencies. For "flight mode" read "Walkman mode" since with the phone deactivated the music is all you can access, none of the other fun features. On the k610i all of the non-transceiver feaures could be accessed in flight mode (listen to music and play games at the same time). Also I find the Photo DJ harder to access on the W810i. On the K610i it could be accessed straight from taking a picture, no messing about in the file manager. Having said that the photos on the Walkman model are excellent. I printed a 6x4 (10x15cm) without any tweaking at all and it was almost as good as from my Pentax compact. That, for me, is far more important than having a 3g phone. The sound is pretty good too. I'm not sure the Walkman branding has made a huge difference to the sound quality. Use the manual settings on the k610i equalize r and it wasn't bad at all. That said, the Walkman model is a complete entertainment package in your pocket; games, great photos, video clips, music, radio. All in all a really useful gadget to take on a journey.

I had one of these then swapped it for a D900, ehich weas a bad move!!! the w810i is fantastic, great camera, sounds brilliant, and its built like a tank! i just orderd a new one!!!

hmmmmmm...... my friend has this phone and i was abit jelous at 1st when i started to experiance it; very big shame. Really, big, LAME, product!!! on the hole because the mexa pixel camara at 2 was puny compared to the N95 5 mega pixel and well how shall i put it average phone. low reception, high memory = damages the battary power. Anser: Unless you have a memory stick/card. (for phone) Downloadable video succcess well its a failure sorry to say not even possible, SE <<<< its a hmmm with the phones.

Great phone 10/10 but slightly unreliable software. My w810i is about 3 weeks old and already is gettin annoying. Sometimes music can't play, sometimes it flashes white randomly, and now none of my games can load and i cant even install new games. "operation failed" Sometimes when I try to listen to music it says that I need the Disc2Phone software to put the music on, but that software is a load of **** taking like 2 minutes to put one song on. And I don't know why but dust gets into that little light detector at the front above the screen making it look weird compared to my nice phone......

ive had this phone for a week now, replacing a samsung x820. one of the main reasons for switching was the terrible battery life on the samsung. some people have complained here about the battery on the w810i but i charged it on monday and its friday now and still have half the battery left. and i keep fiddling with it. great. otherwise very easy to use, texting is simple, camera is fine, was very easy to transfer music from CD's. all in all probably the best phone ive had so far, and ive had a lot!

This phone is AMAZING!!! It's got bluetooth it's got a camera it can film, the camera quality is excellent and you can play music when you're on the go. And of course it can go on the internet. I would recommend this phone to anyone. It has good games too. There are newer versions of Sony Ericssons but I think this is the best, and it has a great design to fit in your pocket. The walkman is great, you can download music onto it from the phone internet. If you're thinking of buying this phone well trust me, you'll have a great time with it.

Best phone ever! I had a w800i and then sold that as I got a k800i free upgrade, this was rubbish compared to to w800i so I just sold my upgraded k800i and bought one of these on eBay w810i is the best phone on the market better than anything out including n95, n95 prada phone etc. Perfect size, features are nice, not too much. BUY THIS PHONE!

Went for this phone because of the good reviews it got, also because of my freakishly large fingers I needed a phone with raised keys. My last phone was a Motorola V3I which I was very disappointed with and the battery life wa pathetic. The W810i beats all my previous phones hands down. Walkman is great and the phone is good with a very good screen. For what I want from a phone, this has it all.

Well I have to say even the SE W810i is old but I love It, I had a tough choice, it was either the W850i, W880i or this but after reading reviews for the phones, Im glad I picked this one. Im not really a phone, person, But I love my music, you get a great camera, Radio and so on and the end product is fantastic, it a great Phone. I was thinking of going with the W880i but with no camera and bad reviews, this is was the better phone. I still remeber the days where SE had horrible ugly phones on the market and Nokia ruled then but things have changed and I can say SE totally rocks, I love thier walkman phones, big fan of them. If I was into the camera, I would have gone for the K800i series but the music on this phone is great. The phone is light when I pick it up and the colour great. Great camera and great MP3. When you first hold the phone, it takes a while to figure out what the button does but after that no problem. However Im not a big fan of the camera at the back sticking out slight but its ok. I have a ipod nano as my music player and need a phone for emergency calls but with this phone, I Stopped using my ipod as the sound is great, its got loud speakers and music is great with the headphones. Plus you get 512mb Memory card for free which cost a lot in shops, so thats greta. The packaging of the phone is great, I love the compartments. Everything About this phone is excellent. RECOMMENDED FOR ANY TEENAGE WHOSE INTO THIER MUSIC.

Changed to this phone from a Nokia 6270,after being massively recommended by my son and his partner. Had it for three weeks and seriously thinking of reverting to previous..... Use my phone for texting and find it really difficult after Nokia......Am VERY disappointed with the calender, I used my calendar as my diary on previous phone and this isn;t the same, is for appointments only. Also used Nokia for recording times when running, could save times but cannot do on this one....... Only positive is Walkman, sound is good . . . . .

The W810i is a user friendly phone. It does the job you need it to, in my case texting with ease. I bought the Samsung E900 and took it back and swapped it with the W810i. The E900 was an absolute nightmare functionality wise. Back to my good old Ericsson's. Anyway as I said, texting is easy. Has a nice amount of space to keep MP3 and a good little radio, perfect for me on my way to work in the mornings. During calls the quality is clear. The phone is packed with little features. However I do have a couple of minor disappointments. I bought the Orange branded W810i, this meant that Orange have taken away the original pretty Sony menu's and navigation and replaced it with their own not so nice one. So my advise would be to buy a Sony only branded phone, not the phone networks version. The second disappointment is the screen. It's not as high quality nor as the W880i or K800i. The screen quality is the same as say the K700i. But overall this little phone does the job you need it to. Well done again Sony.

ive had this fone 4 bout a yr nw n it is gd but i fink itz pretty basic n simple. Also, the sound isnt very good too but a gd fone!

hI GUYS I BROUGHT THIS PHONE ON MARCH 25TH .THIS phone is ok earlier i had n6600.But i am not impressd with w810i.ok music is gud but ringtone out put is worst.no volume at all compared 2 other sony phones.camera is gud.so i am changing my phone.i dont know y people over here had written so many gud things abt this cell.atleast ringtone shld be high volume.u cant hear if some 1 calls u.I made a mistake i read review by this guys in this site and buyd this cell.music is excellent,camers is gud ok.i spent 14,000rs.4 this cell.waste of money.no looks also.plzzzzzzzz guys dont go 4 it.

It is just amazing. I like this phone very very much. some faults to mention are, its display attracts dust very easily and the camera has not got any cover. it is so very customizing, even you can put a ringtone in your memory card and apply it as a ringtone. You can easily upgrade your memory card as it is very cheaper compared to the ones used in the z series and w300i kind of phones. It is so very good in lasting for the charge, the speakers they give with this phone are very very good. awesome sound quality and camera quality. Just go for it, worth the money you put into it.

My dad has this phone and i love it. i wish that when i switched to contract i had got this phone instead off the samsung z500. it had an amazing camra and if there is any one quite young then it has a few good games......battery life is great.....really good storage........the saound of the mp3 player is really good as well and can go quite loud. my mum has ordered a new phone for me a sansumg E900 and my brother the newer version but this one is the best!! you should buy it!!

have been using the phone for more than a week and i can say it is outstanding! battery life easily beats nokia n series and also in terms of easy menu access. my phone fall from a table around a meter and a half high and i can say the phone is pretty tough and after that i've never experienced hardware/software problem. walkmans a pretty software but sometimes songs being played is a little soft though i think its the songs problem. features are pretty good considering the price range.

i own a w810i and i am very inpressed by it , i cant fault it at all! it has great memeroy ( with a card ) mp3 player, infared, bluetooth, 2 mega pixel camera adn a very bright light highly recomended

I got this cool phone 5 days ago. I had been using nokia 6680 but as I saw this phone, I had to buy it. it has got everything I needed. It's sound quality is flawless & the camera is beyond the mark. I don't know about the great opinions and reviews of other respected people, but this phone is the COOOOOOOLLLLLLEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSTTTT!!!!!!!

Da phone is excellent altough mite need a few added changes like security/privacy and i would like if u can use fm without pluging in the handset.it should have a builtin antenna.
