Without a doubt, the best phone on the market. I work for the carphone warehouse and lately there are some pretty impressive models kicking about, but this just raises the bar. The design is fantastic, the software is excellent, and the menu's/layout is great too. Camera is brilliant, flash and effects and everything are great. Also the video camera is amazing. MP3 player is out of this world, and you can store so many songs on the phone. Radio is really good too! Its like a DAB, its so fast to switch from radio stations. Also, the response time from pressing a button is unbelievable, theres no delay whatsoever, everything just happens. I'm amazed with this phone, as I thought i would be. If you're a music/camera phone lover then this is the phone to get. Doesn't it say something when its the current best selling phone?

I have used this phone for 12 months. I generally like sony errikson, but did not like this phone at all. I personally find the mini-joystick control a little difficult to control.. Also, even when the keypad is locked, certain buttons can still operate the mp3/camera - which is annoying! After using this, i am keen to go back to a flip or slide open phone which keeps the keys and display covered up and less vulnerable to damage. My joystick broke after 12 months on this model.

Can't save a thing on it, not even a pic!............... Mayb a just got a dodgy fone (after all the contract is with ORANGE, Heard a few reviews that peeps new fones seemed to b 2nd hand) I dunno, but while it works, it's good, when its wrecked & no1 can find anything wrong with it, u've no option but 2 pay ur contract out! Nice eh?. lol. Best advice:- only have the fone if it's pay as u go. That way, when its wrecked it doesn't cost more than it's value to pay out.

Good other features ie. reliable - hard to turn of alarms!!!! / world clock / pic quality / easy to progrmme quick keys/ long video playback/ very robust - has been dropped many occasions!!! Nice large screen and looks very different to other models/makes out on the market. Only downsides big open screen easily gets scratched - other than that - i will be hanging on to this one as a remarkable 2nd (old) phone!!!

Other features good too... had fun with bluetooth games with boyfriend (k800i too), played golf and tennis (standard games that come with phone). Easy to use without reading manual, just played and pressed buttons! options given clear understandable names so easy to customize mobile to needs. Only problem is joystick on boyfriends slightly wearing out, other friends commented on this problem with earlier models too while other friends stated no problems with joystick too! I would recommed this mobile as the best mobile, camera, games, bluetooth, music player!

Had this phone over a year after being a die hard Nokia fan. This phone was by far the best on the market a year or so ago but not sure now as I expect its camera to have been bettered. That said, I upgraded the Mem stick to a 1GB, and have never bought an iPod. The phone has just about complete fuctionality and it seems that even Sony E themselves have struggled to come up with a design and functional phone to top this one as yet. How many phones can say that after a year and a half of being out? Have found the phone durable, screen scratch resistant and function consistent. The Software on a batch or two of these phones has gone 'pete tong', but to those people who have had probs you have been desperately unlucky. Even got the mm60 cable to plug it into my rather pwerful sound system - it works very well. All phones have a bad side/problems and the joystick on mine has begun to play up but this can be repaired. Just spent £7 to buy a new joystick and repair tools kit. I'm with 02 and again, their service has been pretty darn on the mark. My ideal would be to have this exact phone but with a 4Megapixel camera on it. Come on Sony E, just DO it... DO it!

Well, what can I say, the Sony Ericsson brings out another great phone. With a very stylish cover and a mp3 player built in and also when you buy the phone, you get a 512mb memory card with it! But,I have had two faults with this phone. The first was the back button and the scroll button are both starting to stick..(really annoying when going through tracks) and also the flickers lens on the back is broke. When you flick it, the camera is automatically meant to come on. I have to go into my menu and go to camera. But a message keeps on coming up "open the lens cover). The lens cover is open. So I cant take pictures.(It has a 2mpxl camera which wis a real shame because when working, takes really good pictures! No other faults with the phone but it has completely KNOKED MY CONFIDENCE for Sony Ericsson. The Samsung D900 is MUCH better.

overall the phone is quite good. the mp3 player is great, holds loads of songs and playing quality is really clear. It has really good storage capacity, it also has a good quality camera, even if it is a little slow. there are some bads things though. i got the phone for christmas and it didn't work, and wouldn't even switch on. in the end i had to take it back to the shop to replace it. when i finally got one that worked i found that the phone can be really slow. also the keypad is a little small, and the dual stick thing can be annoying. the themes are mostly a not so nice orange and the games aren't the best. Also the other night i plugged it into the computer to upload some new songs and it completely deleted ALL of my songs. I had about 80 on there aswell. Its more of an mp3 player than a phone, and i'd recommend it to someone who doesn't want to fork out on an ipod or mp3 aswell as a phone, because it's mp3 player is top notch. it is an alright phone and the design is q uite funky, but i think sony were concentrating more on it being able to store lots of music and pictures etc. than it having good basic features and being the best of phone quality. it has lasted a while though and it does its job. Quite good i suppose!

I have a Sony w800i. In my opinion it is an interesting piece of technology that is nowhere ready for release. I have had a lot of probems with the device and Sony has been less than helpful - in fact rude. I am in the technoogy business and typically avoid leading edge anything whenever possible. This device was purchased in a hurry after my previous wonderful Nokia was stolen. One of the more annoying things is the fixed logos and sounds. It is not possible for me to delete some songs and images - those installed as branding. So, when out for a run listening to music, if I can get it to work, at the end of an inspiring album the bloody thing cycles through the branding rubbish and I get the crap that sounds like a cheap xylophone in a can. Naturally played as loud as I was listening to ACDC. Browsing image lists starts at 2 or 3. You can never see 1 or 2 because they are branding and you can't delete them. And it is not possible to alter the shutdown logo or noise. So, you show up as last at a meeting, reach into your pocket to turn off your phone and it plays a dorky song that no-one in their right mind would ever listen to voluntarily. People just look at you and stare. I've developed the habbit of covering the speaker so it's not as loud. This is faster and simpler than going in and out of silent mode. And a small note on ergnonomics - to go to the next song press minus, to go back press plus. The device locks up sometimes when playing video messages if you press a button or stress it in any way. This requires a restart. Lets be outragous here and say this is all my fault and I just can't work the thing properly. Fine then someone should have told me this or sent me a manual that isn't like a video recorder manual. So I started a diary and record sometimes when it screws up. 2:10 PM 8/10/2005: Copied 2 purchased CDs to phone using Disc2Phone. Format Unreadable or similar error. Deleted all MP3 files and copied only 1 CD Eventually it worked but entire process took more than a half hour. 4:08 PM 9/10/2005: Phone not recognised over USB. Worked yesterday. Phone is charging so USB cable is connected. Tried Different USB ports, Mobile Networking Wizard, Sony Ericsson File Manager, Windows Explorer, Re-booted phone and 2 pictures were no longer visible on the phone. Re-booted PC and connected fine and missing pictures now visible in Sony Ericsson File Manager (still not visible on phone). Can't get rid of annoying "music" that plays when turning phone off. One of the two best keys for short cuts is reserved to connect to a a Sony/Telstra web site. Also frustrating with this phone is the fact that I can load mp3 files over the USB cable, but unless I use the disc2phone software (which doesn't work), the files are not accessible. And, how do I delete the songs that are pre-loaded? Who wants to listen to an hour of classical followed by the annoying electronic Sony Ericsson Greeting? The adware that is fixed in the unit is extremely frustrating. Thu 13/10/2005 1:55 PM: To: Sony Ericsson Call Center RE: Sony Ericsson Call Center, Case : 70163192: Hi, I took more time off work today to deal with this. I went to the repair centre recommended by your office - Accord in East Perth. And, after I went to lengths to get them a copy of my flight itinerary so they could sort out my problem before I go overseas. It was all a waste of time because they "don't have the software to look at this phone. The phone will have to go to eastern states and a minimum 10 day turnaround." I fly out on Monday. THIS EMAIL WAS IGNORED. Wed 12/10/2005 1:18 AM: To:Sony Ericsson Call Center, RE: Sony Ericsson Call Center, Case : 70163192: After one of the support operators was particularly hostile. In fact insulting. If the support guy worked for me and I heard the way he talked to a customer I'd have fired him on the spot. And the ignred email goes...Hi Tong, Is it possible to request a recording of my last support call? If not can you give me the name of the gentleman that handled the bulk of the call, not Simon? I would like to register a complaint regarding this person. Regards, Colin. THIS EMAIL WAS ALSO IGNORED. Tue 11/10/2005 1:58 AM: To: Sony Ericsson Call Center, Re; RE: AutoReply Sony Ericsson Call Center, Case : 70163192: Hi, Today's diary entry...10:28 AM 10/10/2005: Tried copying 2 purchased CDs using Disc2Phone using XP laptop. Got warning on phone re; I should use Disc2Phone software when trying to play music. Files appear on removable disk when viewed from laptop but are otherwise not visible from anywhere on the phone except track list. Trying to play from here gives "Playback failed". Deleted both CDs and tried just one - Playback failed. I'm starting to think this phone is a piece of shit - good thing it was expensive. Still no response from Sony. Oct 29, 2005 (Sunday) Working in Fiji. Came in to the office to retrieve a file for work back at the hotel. Took phone and USB cable. Left laptop at hotel. Logged on to someone else's machine, connect the phone over the USB cable, requires hardware installation. I'm not an administrator on that machine. Can't install hardware. Can't connect phone - waste of trip to office. Should have just brought shitty old thumb drive which is smaller than the USB cable for the phone. Seems impossible to get MMS settings to work in Fiji. Several emails to Optus have failed to resolve the situation. Could be the Vodaphone network here but the Optus site seems incapable of updating the settings in the phone and no-one seems to be able to tell me the settings so I can type them in manually. Nov 8, 2005: Plugged USB cable into phone - phone asks what language and if I'd like a tour of the features. 11:40 AM 16/11/2005: Can't remove Sony Ericsson File Manager from my desktop because it is installed physically to the desktop - not a shortcut. 9:43 PM 24/11/2005: Phone won't "connect" over USB. Maybe because I have a camera already attached to another USB port. Re-boot and the phone connects and I can synchronise. 5:08 PM 14/02/2006: I've finally figured out that you cannot see some files on the phone when the phone is plugged into the PC. The rule appears to be non-special files. Special files are pictures and soundS (adware) that you cannot delete. Phone locks up and requires re-boot a few times in this time span. 4:00 AM 12/02/2006: Yes - 4:00 am Sunday morning the battery is low. The warning sound wakes the entire house. It is not possible to disable this feature. Also, it is not possible to turn off the "music" that plays when the phone is turned off as noted earlier. As in turning the phone off to get it to shut up causes it to generate more noise. OK - back at this after putting up with it for so long. I think I'm getting the hang of it - it works but you just have to know how. For eample you can't look at files on the phone if it is connected via USB. If the memory card suddenyl disappears, just re-boot and it comes back. The thing refused to play music yesterday during a run (playback failed). I fixed this by moving the music into a fake folder called "stupidPhone" to simulate the Artist in the Artist | Album | Song architecture and it worked. 11:01 AM 11/07/2006: Hook in the usb cable - with a menu showing - unrecognised USB device. Remove cable, go to main (no) page on phone. USB device not recognised. A rapid series of bells as the various hardware devices (there are several for just the one phone) Several minutes later the device appears. USB drops uout several times while copying music - it's connected because the phone shows as charging. 2:10 PM 13/07/2006: Attached USB to sync to contacts "USB Device not recognised" but all the icons appear in the tray. Clicking on mobile phone monitor works but it's a tool that does not do very much other than allowing you to disable your SIM. Click on Sync Station - notihng happens, ot even an entry in task manager. Between flashes of USB device not recognised the OS asks if I want to install new hadware. If anyone is wondering if it's me or my computing environments in all of this, all I can say is that I don't have trouble with any other hardware devices and the only software that gives me grief is Crystal reports. So the hardware turns out to be the Sonyw800 and naturally it wants the w800 installation CD. How convenient.

I got this phone abt 2 weeks ago, after I was forced to give up my i-mate jam. Upon getting the w800i, this phone has not ceased to impress. This phone has a superb camera and the picture quality is as good as my stand alone BenQ 2 mega-pix camera. Ample memory is included but can always be upgraded to 2Gb, also the 3.5mm jack is very useful and improves the already good audio quality from the included head phones. The colour scheme might sound bad on the net, but it's not bad at all, in fact it causes the phone to look more unique. The only thing that bothered me is that I compared my phones audio quality through the speaker and was quite embarassed when when there was barely any difference, but with that said the w800i does have very good audio quality, it just seems so does the k700. Another thing is that I faced some difficulty in transferring songs through disc2phone, but these are just minor flaws. I've had this phone for 2 weeks and I can conclude its an absolutely amazing phone. The camera and video quality are great and it has a flashlight with a semi-flash. The radio is decent for what you would expect on a phone. The memory card that came with the phone was slightly faulty and the software (disc2phone) sometimes erases all of the data on your memory card if you dont use it correctly. I love the look of the phone and the colour scheme looks great, it was the main reason why I was drawn to this phone in the first place. The battery lasts for ages considering what you can do with the phone, you can have the record videos, turn on the flash light, listen to the radio/MP3s and use bluetooth and infared all at the same time! One of the annoying things is the handsfree kit that came with the phone, it seems you have to use it in order to listen to radio/MP3s on your headphones and they keep pulling themselves out of your ears because of the weight of the handsfree kit which is unbelievably frustrating. Apart from the slight nitpicking and the headphones issue, this is a brilliant phone and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I've had my phone for 2 months and am mostly very happy with it. It has all the functions I need and I was able to adjust to the joystick control system etc quite quickly. Battery life is not bad, camera is good (if you ever use it). Looks are not quite to everybody's taste, but that's the same with anything I suppose. I like it. The one very BIG problem I have is that I specifically bought this phone for the MP3s and I managed to get a very good 1GB memory card deal with it. The sound is good but the problem is getting music onto the phone. It has a habit of wiping out entire albums which is most annoying considering that it can take 10 or 15 minutes per album!!! I'm an IT consultant so I know I'm not doing anyting wrong. Apparantly this is a known glitch and onw workaround (which doesn't always work) is to play a song while you're transferring new files across. So on the whole a good phone, but if you're buying it for the walkman function don't bother unless you are a very very patient person.

Problems: 1. It isn't possible to charge the phone while the headphones are attached or while it is connected via USB to a computer. This is because the headset, the charger, and the USB cord all connect to the same place on the phone, and only one can be connected at a time. I fail to see how the designers failed to recognize this fatal flaw, which severely compromises the phone's convenience. 2. The headphones connection is loose. Simply moving the phone affects the sound quality. You basically have to hold the phone in one rigid position, otherwise the music volume fluctuates and it is very irritating. 3. Almost every time I pull the phone out of my pocket, the camera shutter has snapped open. This is because the button on the back of the phone slides too easily. They should have developed some kind of mechanism to ensure the shutter doesn't slide open so easily. 4. It isn't possible to rearrange the menu icons. Personally, I find that they're organized very counterintuitively: the icons I access most are at the bottom of the menu and I hardly ever use the ones at the top. 5. There doesn't seem to be a way to sort tracks in the MP3 player. Whatever order they're copied in from the computer, that's what you're stuck with. 6. The display turns off way too quickly, and there's no way to custom define the settings. So far, other than these shortcomings, I haven't found the phone lacking in any way. It's a beautiful phone and the camera takes high quality photographs. The software disk is straightforward and operates smoothly. The battery is long-lasting. Really, the main reason I got this phone was because of the storage capacity and integrated walkman capability. But because of the headset connection problem I can't enjoy listening to music the way I would like. And that's a real shame.

WOW! This is a 2MP digital camera, and Mp3 player, yet also manages to be a decent phone. Audio quality for phone calls is excellent, I keep forgetting I'm talking on the phone and wonder why they aren't in the room! Its small too which is the only slight downer. A larger screen would have been nice to show off those cool pictures! Texting could be easier as large font and small screen mean you can't see much at once. But overall I think the phones hard to fault and well worth getting as your next one. I can't believe the new w810i doesn't have a radio. The radio is one of the best features on the w800i as even with 512MB of mp3s to listen too, you can tire of hearing them again and again. I'd definitely recommend two upgrades, a memory card reader and some decent headphones. I don't like the standard ones (block out too much external noise, you'd get run over if you tried to use it in street) but sony's even thought about that and you can plug in your own (uses std 3.5mm jack!). Through my senheiser protable phones it actually sounds BETTER than my MP3 player which is a creative nano 1GB so not exactly a cheap item! The USB2 memory card reader I have means I can upload files to the phone in seconds not minutes and yet still supports the sony software! Mp3 - great sound and easy to use Radio - excellent, quick to tune in and displays station names Headset - not bad but best buy your own add on Screen - good but not great Camera - good (best available) but not quite gonna replace your 5MP digi cam! Video - bit mediocre but fine for a phone Games - downloadable so the skys your limit, plenty of free ones available. WAP - Good support Texting - Easy but not quite as fast as my nokia 6600 but that is a brick so small size means you inevitably have to comprimise Styling - hit and miss retro orange! love or loathe. I'm gonna change it cos my mate has exactly the same. Apparantly not that hard to change case and loads available on ebay. Phone - Can't be faulted, good audio quality, excellent battery life. In short AWESOME, and the best comprimise on the market.

I don't use the disc 2 phone software , just copy & paste my mp3 tracks from my music folder on my pc. I think most of the problems described by people on here are the result of either user error , or software that needs updating via the SE update site . No manufacturer can make 100% fault free phones , there are bound to be some faulty ones made . I managed to get a sony 1GB memory stick at a reasonable price , so now I have plenty of space fort more music . At the end of the day the only thing that could have been improved on this phone is the colour scheme - the designer must be colour blind.

Despite all of its bells and whistles, this is at the end of the day, a phone. So, it would not be too much to expect that it does the job that it was designed for without any problems. In my experience this was not the case as in the two days that I had the phone it continually froze - I had to pop the battery out and replace to get it to work again. The person I spoke to at Sony Ericsson support recomended that I sent the phone back to the supplier & obtained a refund. I think that this must be a Ericsson issue as I had one of their handsets about 5 years ago which did the same thing - wouldn't be surprised if they are still using the same basic program for their phones operating system. Having read a number of reviews that complain about the same problem, I would not recommend the W800i to anyone & I am surprised that Sony would risk their reputation through marketing products that do not work properly.

I'm a Nokia fan, who loved my 6610 for its simplicity and solid reliability. Hunting for a replacement for a contract renewal, I went looking for the following: - good battery life - comfortable size (comparable to the 6610) - 2MP camera - Enough memory for the photo's - a simple block design, fearing swivels and sliders would break easily - black appearance The W800i satisfied 5 of the 6 criteria. It's a joy to use as a phone, MP3 player, quick camera (in daylight!) and USB disk between work and home. The main reasons that it loses its shine are the horrible colour scheme (orange and cream that easily gets grubby), poor camera ability indoors. I'm still occasionally confused by the buttons when typing messages. I also dislike the menu's which don't always jump back to the previous level when pressing cancel/back, but instead exit the whole menu structure. The bundled handsfree earphones are as frustrating as always, since the wire easily tangles with the earphones. Overall, it's a worthy tool, packed with awesome extras (512Mb is lovely!) If only they'd allowed replaceable covers (it's a standard rectangular phone), I would've given it a 5/5, instead of 4/5

Within an hour of receiving it, mp3s, pics everything i transfered onto the phone DISSAPPEARED which i clkassed as a mistake of my own so retransfered everything for it to DISSAPPEAR off the phone a few hours later. The mp3s were warped, my phone would crash whilst scrolling through mp3s and then id play an mp3 and it would start playing half of a different song :s and that happened with all of my 80 odd songs appart from about 10. So ok sends phone back and has second replacement which is super slow. I try to transfer pics, mp3s but it just wont have it... Then i change my simcard over try to start up the phone and wooo it gets to the sony erricson screen and totally crashes...to which i remove both the battery and simcard for a while and try to start up the phone but it just freezes at that same place everytime so yet another phone has to be sent back ugh... total dissapointment! This phone really would be amazing if it worked properly but until they sort it out i guess its just not. Plus ive had nothing but problems with anything made by SONY so guess its to be expected. Im gunna go back to my nokias (boring i know but at least they are reliable)... Anyone planning on buying the w800i goodluck cuz you really will need it!

***********/5 First off how can anyone slate the W800i, it is by far the best phone out on the market, having the phone for 4 months now howeveri have discoverd a few nigling problems, and trust me when i say minor problems! the phone by fay is awesome, which in my eyes gives it a 6 out of 5 rating, some ppl will however argue the fact that nokias are better, quite simply NO THERE NOT!, i have been using nokias for 7ish years, and when i saw this phone i decided, eh what the hell, how bad can it be, and to be honest why didnt i make this transistion earlier! god only knows! menus flow in and out easly internal phone settings laied out beautifully, pretty much every function you could ever want from a moblie the camera is the best pic quality of any on the market, the mp3 player is beautifully laid out and easy to use and it also has a masssive SD memory card (512mb) this comes into play when you can laugh at your mates when they have to delete stuff from their phones in order for you to bluetooth something to them, and normally on this phone you will have more free space when you have put everything you want onto it, than most phones come with standard from the factory they also claim you can approx store 130 mp3s on the phone, what planet do you live on??? first of all if your only ever going to listen to the music via the onboard speaker, well its pretty obvious theres only one speaker, so before putting songs onto the phone change the quality to MONO, Simple, also i now use my phone as the music device with my car stereo, and at 48kbps, 41,000hz there is hardly any noticable sound loss, upto date i have around 380mp3s on the phone, about 55mins of 3GP video, and aprox 120 hi res photos, and still have 45MB of free space on the memory card! now the bad points, yea i have found a few! wasting battery life always put the phone into your pocket charging port first, (when the phone is even on keypad lock, when the lens cover opens the camera WILL turn on and use loads of battery life while in your pocket) Bluetooth freezing when connection to a siemens ot motorola if the bluetooth device list hasnt fully searched, the W800i can freeze up, then you have to remove the battery to unfreeze as no buttons will work walkman crashes phone if you have playlists already set up and you move files around on the phone and do not update the playlists accordingly to the new file location, the phone will lock up into a state of forever playing music and the W800i will freeze to fix, delete playlists and make some new ones external speaker not loud enough but then again the quality is better than most of its rivals and finally the auto foucus on the camera this can be quite tricky, but as they designed the W800i to have full digital camera functionallity there is a way od holding the "take picture" button halfway down, this will lock the focus and then a green box appears, then take your pic this will then solve all blury pics, and save you asking your mates to stay still while you take a pic, its not the phones fault, ITS THE USER! when you get more used to the camera and all its veriaty of settings, you will start to feel like a professional photographer! trust me on this one cuz the camera options on this phone will embarras quite a few moderatly priced digital cameras. Recomendations BUY BUY BUY! you wont be dissapionted!

I am unable to copy music to the phone and thus i called Sony technical support and they got me to do a check on the software number. They then revealed that this softwware number is falty and cannot copy music to the phone correctly. She said Sony are working on the problem and that they will have an update on their website within a few weeks! I said surely thousands of other handsets with this software have the same problem and she said yes! What use is a walkman phone if you can't copy songs to it! I called Vodafone to have a moan at them (my network) and they were unaware. They took all the details and they are posting it nationwide to advise people with this problem. BE WARNED........if you have this problem you will have to wait for the update like me. I'm most annoyed and fed up that i can't use the phone properly.

I was originally put off by the colour of this phone, as I'd only ever seen it on the net but having sent back the phone I originally ordered - the nokia 3230 - I went into the 02 shop and looked at the SE W550i. I liked the size of it but didn't like the swivel action to get it open, I think it would have been better as a slide phone. Anyway this review is not about the w550i. I was attracted to the w800i because of the 2MP camera with flash and the huge memory stick included 512mb. When the phone arrived it was in a smart hard perspex box with headphones, USB data cable, memory stick and of course light weight charger. Also included was a CD-ROM with all the USB drivers and PC suite software you could need for transferring MP3s and pictures between phone and PC. The 2mp camera quality is outstanding (remember this is a phone NOT a digital camera) and when sending photos to another phone it will ask you if you'd like to resize the picture, rather than trying to send it and failing. The only annoying thing as I can see is that the phone makes a loud bleep while autofocusing and then the shutter sound. you can get round this by putting the phone into silent mode before using the camera. The flashlight is really bright so will be great for outside at night. I like the macro mode too, and the white balance control. I've only transferred a couple of MP3s to use as ringtones and I must say the speaker quality is brilliant when on loudspeaker. I haven't tried the headphones yet and I can't see that I will be using them that often as I already have an MP3 player. I'm finding texting quite difficult and slow as I've been used to a nokia 3220 on which the keypad is quite a lot smaller and rubberised keys. also as the space is on a different button (# key instead of 0+) I keep getting it wrong, which is annoying as I was the fastest texter I knew of on the nokia, but I'm sure I'll get used to it, just as I got used to the Nokia. When you plug the data cable in the phone automatically starts charging, so that's great if you are using it a lot, you don't have to worry about the battery running down while you are transferring files. All in all a great phone!

I've had this phone a few days now. Whilst it is so much better than my previous SE phone, the K700 (especially the battery life and screen) it is not a very good mp3 player... yet. I say yet as the updated firmware on new phones doesn't seem to work very well with the rather bad CD>MP3 software they supply called Disc2Phone. The main issue is that even though it looks like you are transfering the newly converted MP3s to the memory stick they simply just disappear when you eventually unplug the transfer cable. Although this problem has been echoed by countless others I've seen on the net recently Sony Ericsson really need to sort this issue out. Also they could improve the file management both on the phone and via the PC while they are at it as that is pretty bad too. The sound quality is actualy very good from the phone demo tracks - the headphones aren't that bad, but you can even use your own if you wish. I temporarily had some MP3s on the phone and they sounded on par with my iPod as you can set the sampling rate, erm, until they mysteriously disappeared from the memory card as part of the aforemention problem... Once they sort the issues and the poor software out this would get a 5/5 from me as it is pontentially a great phone.

I heard that this new iPod phone can hold 100 songs?... well this baby can hold up to 150!! It will pause when the phone rings or you get a text message and will continue where the song stopped everytime. The camera is so clear!! It has auto focus which gives you hi quality pictures. If you have it the highest quality setting and transfer to your pc, they are almost photo size (6x4), and it tells you how many pics you have left to take before your memory is full!!! How can you base your ratings only on looks without even using it, you are a idiot! And color at that! You dont like orange? Get a marker and color it in! Bet the guy never even seen it other than on the net... Theres no doubt that Nokia is the easiest phone to use, but no point in copying exactly what some else has done. Sony Ericsson has own unique functions which can be just as good as a Nokia, unless you are as dumb as the guy below. Having said that the W800i is a great phone, packed with features and style that will rival the releases of any new model, its got every thing you want and more.

Sony Ericsson phone are normally good, but Nokia phone is better phone in function and many more which include good quality picture and many more. I hope Sony Ericsson phone will catch Nokia phones. w800i I wish is better phone than new release Nokia phones. If the Sony Ericsson w800i is in black and white it will be 10 times nicer than the orange and white. Nokia Sony Ericsson ROCKS.
