Reviewed by Lisa (Gloucestershire) on 17/06/2010 Upgraded from SE C902 to this Vivaz. HUGE MISTAKE! Absolutely appalling. Within 24hrs of having the new mobile, it froze and I couldn't use the handset at all. Returned it to Vodafone who replaced it a 2nd handset. Has worked fine for 4wks, then in 5th week it will not allow me make outgoing calls (I am now on the 5th day of not being able to make calls!!)The message EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY is constantly displayed. I have no landline, so had to use my partners phone to ring Vodafone helpline who advised me a new (yes the 3rd!!) handset would be delivered today betweem 8am-12pm. It is now 3pm...and still waiting! Poor customer service Vodafone. I am now in the process of waiting for a Manager of my local Vodafone branch to contact me. Going by the past reviews, this is NOT a recommended phone. I have had severeal SE mobiles, K850i, C902. But this VIVAZ has been totally unreliable. Rating:
Reviewed by Taylor on 17/06/2010 i've had my sony vivas less than a month, today my friend tryed to send me a sond via blue tooth, the conection broke and the phone crashed. I turned it of and how it wont evan go past the start up screen. i have had multipull problems with the phone, wen on camera it flickers other screens and picks and chooses when it wants to use the camera or video. I thought this going to be brilliant but when it wants to play up, it really does do a good job! Rating:
Reviewed by Emma on 16/06/2010 Only had this phone for over a month and yesterday it crashed so I took the battery out and turned it back on and now it won't come on. It just comes up with a white screen saying Sony Ericsson. I have had nothing but trouble with this phone. It has a mind of its own and never does what you want it to do. After having this phone for a month I have realised that maybe the i-phone would have been a better option. If anyone is thinking of getting a Vivaz - don't. It's not worth the trouble, seriously!!!! Reviewed by Ryan Chip on 25/05/2010 Amazin video camera the rest is not worth a mention - I have used sony erricsson fro the start now time to change! Not suitable for people with large fingers and short tempers. I would have kept this if there was a slide button facility for text overide! You have been warned! Rating:
Reviewed by Nicky Carlton on 24/05/2010 AMAZING, SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE SATIO!!!!!!!! Rating:
Reviewed by Graham Rix on 09/04/2010 The Vivaz is a stylish looking and high quality device. Some reviewers claim its plastic construction and light weight makes it feel cheap, but that's unfair. The resistive touchscreen, which has also had mixed reviews, is good (and much better than a capacitive screen for typing, but perhaps not better for 'playing' with the phone). It's slightly better than the good screens on either of my two Viewtys. The main problem with the Vivaz is the obstructive operating system, which seems not to have been written for a touchscreen phone. Sending and receiving texts takes you through more screens and buttons than it should. And the phone doesn't always respond as it should either. My Viewtys were much more rational, and much nicer to use(but first one broke and the subsequent Viewty-Lite didn't take such good photographs). There's an 85 page downloadable manual for the Vivaz, but it's not very useful, and in many cases it's just wrong. You're left to find your own way around the the second-rate operating system. Trouble is that you only discover after a couple of days of ownership. (So perhaps can't send it back?) If you can ignore the o/s the Vivaz seem very good value, and there's hardly anything it can't do. It can even list the nearest fifty restaurants,or pubs, etc, give you their website, tell you how far they are, tell you how long it will take if you walk, run, cycle or motor. It'll give you a 3D, voice-assisted guide to getting there, and even warn you a speed camers enroute! Just a shame about the Symbian bit. Rating:
