The Sony Ericsson V630i is an excellent value for money mid-range 3G camera phone. It is small and slim weighing 91g. The sleek black finish is highlighted with retro orange to pick out direct keys.
It has a large TFT display supporting 262k colours and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. A TFT display means that the screen is light, clear and viewable, even in bright sunshine.
It has an excellent 2 megapixel cameral with digital zoom and video recording capabilities. It can also take pictures in night mode using the flash light.
The phone has an easy to use music and media player. As well as the 10 MB of internal memory, the phone's memory can be expanded to store more with a memory card.
The V630i has an excellent 72-voice polyphonic sound and MP3 files can also be used as ringtones. 72-voice polyphony means 72 notes can be played simultaneously producing a crisp and clear sound.
The streaming of media files is the fastest available through 3G data transfer speeds. 3G also enables you to connect to the internet with this significantly high broadband service.
The connectivity available on this phone is Bluetooth and USB. Bluetooth allows you to connect wirelessly up to 10 metres away to another device. Connecting to a PC via USB requires a cable.
The phone is tri-band so it will work in Europe and America but not in Japan. Its battery life is very good with up to 350 hours standby time.
Another feature this phone has is video calling. This means that you can see the person you are calling if they also have a 3G phone with video calling.
Overall this is an excellent phone with great features all round and is one of the best phones within this price range. A definite recommended buy.

Great Phone! Had it for 3 yrs! Only thing, I got sand in it, mucked it up for a few weeks, but had it two yrs since works fine! Forever lasting phone, so glad I got it! Other than the sand I had never had a problem with it. Unfortunately I have some sort of soft-ware probelm with it :( But having it for 3 yrs has made me quite attacted to it, so for 20 pounds Ill get it fix! Unsmashable, fantastic, Lasting phone.

i had this phone for one year exactly and the only reason i got rid of it was because i went swimming with it in my pocket. i then went on to a k770i which is aweful. the v630i is in my opinion is the best phone ever made, simple and effective never had a problem with mine

I love my Sony Ericsson V630i because it is practical, and features mobile TV, a digital camera and MP3 player built-in. You can take over 300 photos. Its a beaut!

Looks stylish but has so many technical faults it will drive you crazy. These include: Turns itself off, callers can't hear you properly, texts take ages to come through, memory too small. In addition, because it is a vodafone special you can't put another sim in it if you go abroad (not even another vodafone sim). I am going back to Nokia permanantely (sorry for ever looking at the competition). Thank goodnes it has been withdrawn from sale.

yes yes those who give it 5 stars fair play to ya but me i just give it a 3 star because {i hope peopole know this] the phone does not dupport themes plus its just a copyed version of the k610i i have the k610i and i have no regrets about it althoughi i will give vodafone a pat on the back for trying with the phone theyve done a good enough job hence the 2 stars and the 1 star is because of the deseign yes i have to admit the deseign i a bit just slightly a bit better than the k610i my friend was using this phone i had a go of it its made mostly for music so if your looking for something with a good enough deseign and made mostly for music this is your phone but for lovers of the k series like me id recomend the sony ericsson k610i

phone feels very cheap camera takes quite a while to load and takes the pic very slowly so u get a bad picture incase someone moves in that tym had to replace it almost straight away. and i agree with other ppl the size is awful. buttons very fiddley. got an n70 instead i wud highly recomend it.. the clear loud sound is what saves it from getting a 1 star

this has been the best phone I've ever owned. I've been using i for the last 18 months and never had one complaint. It not over flash or loaded with things you'll never need. It just does everything well and looks the part too. I'm just about to get a new handset as my V630 is a bit on the battered side now. Whatever I replace it with has got a lot to live up to.

if you dont want a flash top of the range phone. but want a phone that looks good, easy to use, dont have to cosistantly worry about it then this is the phone for you! ive had it for 3 years and has never broken or frozen. music is brill to use and id recommend it to anyone LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I bought this phone after being a Nokia user for years and years. Guess what, I'm back with the Nokia because this phone is a piece of junk. The preloaded ring tones are rubbish. The Calendar is rubbish. The reminders on calendar are a pain in the ass and it doesn't customise well to make the alert tone loud enough. I'm just trying to find the charger so I can flog it!!!!! Anyone want to buy a second one call me!

heyyy everyone, i've had this fone 4 about 6 months or something now. and i think its really really good. i ctually bought it with vodafone but HATED their service, switched 2 O2, hated them too and now am bak on orange and ORANGE RULES WITH SONY ERICSON, its like their made 4 eachotha. anyway now am happy. the only 3 things i wud say r drawbaks r that the foto quality is really gooood in light but when its a bit dark, the quality goes. also the vid pixels is crap. cant see anything and when its uploaded 2 facebook, it is small screen. and the last thing is its hard 2 get used 2 the texting keypad, i cant txt without typing propa. its not easy. but i have 2 sony ericsson and overall both r good and longlasting and battery runs forever. and calling reception is really good. just bein honest but wot i got with it, mem card, speakers, usb wire, all that and 4 �50 and unlocked 4 a fiver. its amazing deal. x

i love this phone its fabulous but i topped up 10 quid on orangenetwork and i get free bebo,myspace and facebook but the problem is i cant go on the internet it always says connection fauiler i need to find that out thats the only problem bout the phone the rest is abosolutely outstanding

Ive had this for 14 months and i have liked it however it has now gone mad and constantly tries to bluetooh on its own,###### this key repeats all the time and overides anything else and the mic has gone so my callers can hardly hear me at all. Disapointed for 14 months.

After owning an Lg chocolate kg800 i was looking for a phone that was quite cheap but had a lot of features i was looking on amazon and found the sony ericsson v630i which i thought was an amazing phone so i bought it online in black it came with a 256mb memory stick micro memory card a handsfree kit charger and i dont know if you guys got these free speakers coz i did there amazing ded loud for about 4 inches of speaker i am going to buy a 4gb card for mine soon but about the name why didnt they slap a couple o walkman logos in it but it in black or white put the walkman music player on it and call it the w630i i mean come on .. its got a orange light on the dpad cameras a 2 megapixel good but my dad said the camera was dead fuzzy and well crap i thought wrong because on his w850i he had his camera set on vga mode if you go to the camera and press setings and in the menu go to picutre size and select 2 mp mode it makes it better music players excellent for a non wa lkman phone and i havent tried the 3g video calling but i cant wait to overall i would give it 6 stars if i could but the phone im going to get next is either the n95 oor the w960i or the 3g iphone because i would like wifi more than anything else thanks bye

the best fone iv ever had. iv had it since the day it came out and its been through everything and still works perfectly! its been in the snow and water. its lasted through friskiing and mountain biking and never had anything rong with it. id reccommend it to anyone. the camera is very very good quality and the mp3 player is great. the best phone ever

Had this phone for a year or so now, and it's constantly in use. A great all rounder, nice camera, it has taken some real physical abuse and is still going strong. Casing has few marks even after concrete drops. Only real problem has been occasionally flaky service from Vodafone when I first got it. I use mine with Ubuntu linux as a remote drive to store my music and play it over bluetooth. Harder to hack into than some Nokia phones by the way :)

ok so ive had this phone for about 18 months now and ive never had to send it for a repair or anything...had problems with vodafone but nt the phone,very reliable and when i first got it it was a top of the range phone and still looks good.3g works well!camera and video are outdated now but not bad!and does everything a phone should do!and you can get it from play for like #50!

I first bought this phone and I thought it was great but after a while i started getting bored with it the camera is rubbish it gets all covered with dust and you can't get the dust out. I keep on losing money everytime I Top-up and can do nothing about it, it is Vodavone which is also from my point of view the worst network about and I'm loking to get a O2 Phone next. I would not recommend this Phone to anyone unelse they only wanted it for a short peirod of time.

absolutely loved this phone, but after only 6 months it's died, and when you turn it on it flashes random lights and will never actually turn on! :( And it can't be replaced because it isn't on sale anymore :( Other than that, it's a brilliant phone and when it comes with free speakers and free memory card for 79.99.. it's even better! Would have given it 5 stars before it broke but gonna have to give it 2.

I Bought This Phone For My Birthday And Had It For A Year, It Was Excellent But Didnt Send Messages To Certain Contacts. Then It Started Being Weird And Turning Itself Off! The Battery Life Was Getting Weaker Lasting Less And Less. And Eventually After A Year Of Purchase The Phone Packed Up, And It Wont Turn On At All, A Red Light At The Top Just Keeps Flashing And Even When I Try Plugging In The Charger It Wont Turn On! But Other Than This Problem I Loved This Phone It Had Everything I Wanted! Great Volume On The Music Player, Great Memory! I Would Of Happily Kept This Phone.

i have had a V630i for the past 14 months and have not had one single problem with it... battery life good..camera ok...like to use the panorama mode.. i find it easy to use and the sound quality from the portable speakers is good for the size of the speakers... good to use when staying away... 2 stars... i would rate it 4 stars at least...

Flung it aff ma tv a bit went into orbit lost in some dark other real never to be found! No2 problem the speaker stopped working subsequently and the vibrating function stopped working and leaving me with no way to tell if my screen was working due no the phones unsturdynes overall not a phone for people with bad tempers! But the tv function still worked fine with the plug-in speakers. -=simon=-

i loveed this fone i was great iv only broke once in the whole year that i had it, becuase it got sand in the case my fault though. it was so light and easy to put songs on from a pc. it was such a good fone a recomend it to anybody!!

This phone is outstanding! Loud speakers, great design, compatible with nearly all Java applications. 2 megapixel camera is amzing quality. The screen is fab aswell. Fast Bluetooth..... Mentioning bluetooth, while the phone is sending things, it can recieve things at the same time. Good memory. (free 266mb memory stick). For the price tag this is a top notch phone. BUY IT NOW!

ive had quite a few phones sand this one is my favourite,although i have had a few faults with it. here are some of the excellent features it contains: - 2mp camera + video recorder - bluetooth - mp3 player - mobile Tv - photo/video/music DJ - Video calling - 3G - Vodafone live - and many more! Unfortunately there is no FLASH on the camera which lacks the quality when your in places which arn't so bright, but otherwise its a excellent camera, especially when you are taking pictures outside. The SOUND QUALITY is outstanding :) its on vodafone payg. you can buy it at the vodafone shop for �72 with FREE speakers and a FREE 256mb memory card.

This phone has lots of extra features, but is poor at the basics. Poor signal strength, very poor interface to write texts (wow really tedious). This phone is running before it can walk..... Nokia is much better functionally....

I bought the fone coz be old one had been stollen, i didnt want it to be on vodafone as i like 02. but i got it, i was amazaed at what i could with it, but the interenet charges were scandless so it diidnt get used to the max. However i have got it unlocked and am back on O2, the fone in its self is very relible it is just vodaphone that as dragged it down. Please rember you take a risk when you buy anything that it might have a fault thats what reciepts are made for.

No problems with calls and reception which, call me old fashioned, is the main reason for a mobile phone. Music wise is good. Camera is rubbish compared with previous phoned - or did i just not find the zoom? The only reason for writing the review is that, I have had more faults in the past year with this phone than in the 7 years previous with other models. I am now on my 4th handset since July. Works well (when it works) but i will not take this phone after contract expires.

The 630i is a gr8 phone the best thing 2 do if ur after one is 2 get a 2nd hand one as you wood know from the owner if it s been reliable music player is good also very useable like the k800i the camera is ok in day light or bright areas but no good in dark areas as there s no flash also the camera is not a patch on the k800i also not much phone memory only 15 meg compared to 64 meg plus but at least it can be expanded by m2 memory card all in all i rate it as an ideal spare phone

Great phone iwould recomend it definetly and i was amazed at the sound it was WICKED!!!! i have had it for 3 months and not a single foot out of order nice sleek thin small phone pics are ok but well worth the price around 80 pounds at tesco and argos bad thing is that it is only on vodaphone which cost a bomb.Not very good themes over all 9-10 i have had some jams and it has done been up to its own things like turning off when ever. my sons 12 and it is probobaly best for someone under 20 because it does have alot of functions but beawear as there not many games......i would buy it for about 1 and a half year then i would change phone although i would stick to a samsung or a Walkman BUY IT!!!!!!!! good xmas presant

I have had soooo many problems its drove me up the wall, constant crashing and restarting, i do not recommend you buy one of these even when i first got it after half a year it started to fail on me... I think samsung phones are the most stable phones to use i am personally thinking about replacing my sony to a samsung U600

Hi this phone is sooo...ssoooo..great but a shame mine is been stolen am trying to trace with no luck while I have my IMEI numbers Vodafone is failing to tell me which sim card is using they want me cancell it so I can buy another one...Ouch..as we all know the price while I know who stole it but needing a prove from Vodafone..I am so sick of this I do not understand why they with-holding that information from me...Apart from that this phone is SUPER...anyone to help me what to do find my phone I feel lost..it was my bestfriend

look, i'm only gonna say a few things about this phone cos quite frankly i'm very displeased with it. I got it on pay as u go from vodafone, convinced by the ads and pretty pictures but what a mistake. i switched the phone on and enjoyed the features, cos they are excellent and 15 mins later the music player fails. so i go back to the vodafone store only to be faced with rude staff who insisted that i had caused this myself with overuse. how dare they! i did everything in the manual and yet they still blame me. save yourself the hassle and do not det this phone it's a disaster, i now have a w880 with t-mobile and am increasingly glad to be free of vodafone's heavily branded mobiles, misleading advertising and rude staff. to summarise vodafone and this particular mobile are more trouble than they are worth.

Had this phone for a while, decent for a couple of months , until it started to freeze at the start screen. Now i cant get it on at all. Dude at the shop says its a common Sony Ericsson's software fault. tenna 2 get it fixd and refreshed so everything will be wiped.

I've owned my V630i since December 06 and over that period of time is has become more and more unreliable. It randomly switches off during calls, on standby, when sending or writing a text or browsing the web. It doesn't matter what you are doing or how full the battery is, it just switches off without warning or freezing. In terms of features it's fantastic, especially for the price but for me getting cut off in the middle of an important call is just too annoying to put up with. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE.

Great as long as you don't mind it switching itself off whenever it feels like it. Have had mine 5 months and for the past 3 its got a mind of its own. Have been into Vodafone and had it sent back to Sony - faulty software apparently - which has been re-loaded and its STILL doing it! Don't touch it with a bargepole. Other than that the camera is its best feature and the memory stick. Will be going back to a Sharp when this one dies (another) death (hopefully soon).

I Have Just Got This Sony Ericsson V630i & It Is Brilliant The Camera Is Really Good Quality & The Media Player Is Brilliant When I Can Minimize It And Mulitask Like Send A Message. The Black And Orange Design Looks Really Cool I Am Not Going To Subscribe To The Mobile TV Or Radio DJ But I Think They Will Just Make The Phone Better. I have been very dissapointed with this phone. The battery does not fit in properly and therefore it does not charge. I am therefore left with a phone that keeps turning itself off! Hopeless. I am going to look for another.

i love this phone. ive had it since christmas and have had no problems. the camera n video are amaxin quality. i also had a set of free speakers with mine. i priced them up at �25. the only thing that lets it don is the small fact that it has no flash.

I had the k750i but stupidly swapped it for a samsung and was unhappy with that so i brought a Se v630i last night and its much better then my k750i the music is louder and crystal plus it supports aac as well as mp3. The phone is a little on the big and chunky side but the screen is much better so is the camera if you have it on vodafone then you can get sky mobile tv on it for �5 a month for a package of channels like sky one mtv cartoon network nickelodeon. The 3g coverage on it for the internet is poor if you live in the country side but if you are in a big town or city then its fine. If 3g wont work gprs will. The games on it rock especially 3d games that you can download for it. It takes micro memory cards. The battery lasts ages when your listening to music and such. the bluetooth on it is good much faster then on the k750i. if you buy from tesco it comes with free speakers it is on vodafone but can be unlocked / debranded. All in all i love this phone its a good phone the themes rock too. I would never ever have any other phone then a sony ericsson all the other phones just do not stand up to the quality of se phones.

The MP3 player and stereo head phones are excellent, sound quality perfect. With a 1Gb upgraded memory card I've got 15 full albums on this phone with plenty of room for photos. The camera is alright out doors with plenty of light but without a flash it's simply no good for use at night, or in slightly dimmer rooms and definately a no go in pubs and clubs when you want to get your mates larking about. It also has a habit of randomly switching itself off for no reason. The problem people are getting with 1 ring then diverts itself, or with trouble not sending or recieving a text until the following day is a vodafone problem. I had it with my 2 previous phones with them and numerous friends are reporting the same problem lately)

got this fone about a month ago on Vodafone's student mobile service dotmobile. Im really happy with it, it looks great, plays music great and stores heaps of songs pictures and messages on it. I even got free speakers on the dotmobile student package. Great Picture resolution, videos are extremely clear. MP3 style headfones with built-in handsfree kit, very easy to use. The phone to computer software is amazing and you can browse vodafone live for free, only pay a small fee to download videos and games. Great network and great phone, i definately recommend it! Especially on dotmobile for students. its a bargain!

i got this handset for the wifey, as a replacement for her sharp gx15 onto my contract, i must day i am getting the same phone as i like it so much, the only niggle is the memory card slot spazzes out on occasions, but remove and re-insertand it's fixed. battery lasts forever (i borrowed it the other week, used it hard, mp3 player vid calls etc it still lasted for 4 days) on one extra note it's a large handset yes, but we prefer phones we cant lose in our pockets p.s. vodafone may want you to buy games but you can download games off internet then onto your memory card in file transfer mode. very great menus 10/10 music player 8/10(needs better headphones but speakers boost score) expansion 10/10 ease of use 100/10 feel in hand 4/10 (due to too close number buttons) fluffehness (b3ta says it all) 10/10

When I got this phone in October I thought it was very light. For a few months it worked brilliantly and I really liked it. But about 3 months after having it, it just turned itself off. I tried turning it on again, and then just turned itself off. I was quite disappointed but am gona get a new phone. The only disappointment to me was the camera in darker conditions. It was very grainy. My d600 however is brill but this is very grainy. Overall it is a good phone.

I bought this as an upgrade to my T610, because the speaker on the T610 was not very loud and also because I needed a faster data connection. The V630i is much louder and I can hear what is being said even when calling from a noisy place. The speaker is loud as well and you can talk hands free while driving with the phone in your lap. After a lot of trouble getting the 3G capability to work as a modem I finally gave in and called the Ericsson helpline in despair. They were brilliant and I was up and running after about 20 minutes. I suspect there is a marked difference in the quality of help provided by the network (e.g. Vodafone - useless) and the phone manufacturer. I now have instant internet connection with the USB cable that came with the phone running at about 115kbps. Very happy now.

This is a really nice phone. I previously had the V600i so know the interface pretty well, and there are some considerable improvements in this phone. The 2 MP camera actually can produce some very decent images (given good daylight), albeit they are noisy at low light levels, making this the first camera phone I have had where I could consider actually making prints from the images. The Micro SD card is very useful and makes the phone a pretty decent Mp3 player. Synch with a pc is good and straightforward, linking very well with Outlook. Only problem I have had is in charging via the supplied USB cable - seems slow to charge and only gets to about 90% whereas charging via a mains charger has no problems. Nice looking phone too, and slimmer and lighter than the v600i I had before.
