Reviewed by GTAFT on 09/03/2010 Satio is basically running off a Nokia system S60, personally I hated Nokia phones (too slow and bulky) when i got this phone i was depressed that Sony Ericsson had completely lost any individuality, menu after menu, apps that don't shut down unless you go to the menu scroll down to exit then confirm the choice! Sony needs to wake up and smell the consumer! Famous for adding the first camera flash to mobile technology they have finally given in to LED flashes... instead don't worry about touch screen and focus on media perfection! Sony will never be able to match Apple and their own operating system, but enhanced media and media simplicity could make Sony actually stand out the crowd better and more effectively. For this reason I'm selling my Satio and going back to my very old but very reliable K810i! Rating:

Reviewed by Neil W on 19/02/2010 My 1 star rating reflects the numerous issues I have had with the Satio. For the short periods it was working I would probably rate it 4 stars. On contract with Vodafone since Oct09 the phone would switch itself once or twice per week off or freeze for no apparent reason. Had to take the battery out to start it again. Battery life is really poor even with all the applications closed. Not sure if mine was part of the initial batch. Loaded the latest software downloads but same problem got worse, until it finally would not switch back on or charge. Sent for repair and told that liquid damage was responsible. Absolute Rubbish!! Condensation in the phone is the only way this could have happened(v cold outside and bringing back into a warm room) I suspect the Satio design propagates condensation build up. never had a problems with other Sony Ericsson models. Reviewed by discogibbonuk on 13/02/2010 I've had my Vodafone branded Satio since launch and after hearing all the bad reviews and problems I obviously feared the worst, but I've not had a single problem! The Symbian operating system is very powerful although it can be very slightly laggy at times but when it does run the Satio is great. The 12MP camera might seem like a gimick to begine with but the quality of the snaps is briliant... Well done SE, after all the problems with the C905 and K850, finally a phone I can recommend! Reviewed by Saywhat on 09/02/2010 I love my Satio, mainly because Im camera happy an this take the nicest and clearest pics, havent needed my proper camera since I got the phone...only one thing which is annoying me, there is a flashing envelope icon on the top of the screen, (the kind you would expect to see when you get a new msg) and when i press it it tells me my sim memory is full which it isnt, I called my service provider and they told me it is a common fault but exchanged the handset anyway but I still have the same issue. Reading the reviews I havent seen anyone mention this as a fault, is my service provider talkin nonsence??? and does anyone know hoe to fix this problem, I dont want to exchange for another brand, me and the satio were made for each other lol Rating:
Reviewed by Rab C on 07/02/2010 Used to love Sony's but slightly disgruntled with Satio as is exactly same operating sytem as Nokia N-series and express music range, still think this phone is cool in its own way loving the big screen and sony still managing to incorporate their filing system into the clumpy symbian software, although in pictures it does not allow you to view thumbnails like every other sony... why? Reviewed by Vidarsha on 05/02/2010 I have waited to buy this phone for quite some time.....since last May to be exact. Initially I was quite disappointed at the negative reviews the Satio has received, and pushed back the decision to buy one. After prospecting the Samsung M8910 Pixon 12 (not available for sale in Sri Lanka - the local agent was of no help in bringing one down for me) I brought a Satio, with the firmware version R1CA037 pre-installed. I brought it mainly for the camera (the same reason I bought my previous SE model - K790). After using it for a week web browsing, texting, calling etc etc it has not yet crashed or hung even once. But, it's definitely not the perfect phone. I have a number of issues with the Satio: 1) Atrocious battery life - a 1000mAh battery is not enough for a device like this. the battery, a BST-33 is the same shipped with my 3 1/2 year old K790i. This needs at least a 1500mAh battery. 2) Low ring volume - This phone is no good as a alarm. Even a dog won't wake up to it's alarm. The reminder function is no good either. 3) A slow clock (perhaps this is an issue with my phone) - It loses about 15mins every 2 days while left unsynchronized with the network 4) No equalizer - This beats me all ends up. Verdict: Don't buy this phone unless you buy it because of the camera. Rating:

Reviewed by Brad on 29/01/2010 Iv had this phone now for one week, and iv got to say its not a bad as people make out. (unless you get a bad one which could happen to any new device) UI isn't as upto date as some phones out there but saying that it does the job pretty well. There is no point trying to compare this to an iphone due to lack of app's, which when all said and done isn't a bad thing. UI is easy enough to use even if youve never had a touch screen before and its plenty responive enough. Camera = best on market. UI = good enough and easy enough to use. Battery = not bad for the size of the screen. Media = a monkey could use it. overall = great camera/media. good UI. Not bad battery for the amount its running. Rating:

Reviewed by Sultan on 28/01/2010 great phone that has everything ! but the A-GPS is not what i expected, its slow and of course it has to connect with the mobile network which cost money! unlike a GPS device with preloaded maps that connects only with satellite (which what I hoped for) but that's nothng next to the battery problem! its ridiculous how it drained so fast! i keep it on charge all the time and still it dies off sometimes! its not my main mobile anymore. Reviewed by matt on 24/01/2010 On My third satio since november. first two were big problems with numerous flts most of which people have listed here with freezing etc. Third one however, different ball game. If you like to take pictures on the go, this is the phone to have. I have always had a decent camera on my phone as I use it a lot, this however is in a league of its own, just amazing. Obviously phone and its apps dont compare to the likes of an I phone which blows everything away, but this is a different engine and what this does it does well. Only problem I have at the moment is an over the air install fault from vodafone. Only reason it didnt get a five was due to the firmware issues on first phones. Rating:
Reviewed by Gary on 21/01/2010 Not the best phone i've ever had but saying that no problems with it so far as i got it after recall. Very plasticy,so you have to be careful not to drop it. Menu is a bit basic but ok. Texting can be annoying on predictive when you try to put a x you get a w and can't tap to x. Menu is plain but do'es the job. Touch screen is not as responsive as an iphone, but if you want a good camera this is the phone ( just edge's my Samsung i8510 )Battery ok 2-3 day's. All in all would recommend it. Rating:
Reviewed by Ray on 19/01/2010 REVIEW NOTE: First off I just wanted to say that the 5 star is not an overall rating, the reason is that the things I bought the Satio for, it does brilliantly I had been shopping around for a new phone for a while but it was always apparent that the only 2 phones I really wanted were the iPhone and the Satio. The former is very fun and slick but has a very poor camera, what I really wanted was a good camera to use on nights out since I have never liked the idea of taking a seperate digital camera out. I wasn't really after any fun applications or anything, just the basics; a nice touch screen phone, good looks/design and a good camera. My last couple of phones have been SE and the cameras have varied from excellent (K800i) to quite poor (C902), the latter due to a very weak LED flash. So when I heard that the Satio had a 12 MP camera and a zenon flash it went to the top of my list. The camera is great and tbh its hard to tell between 9,10 and 12 MP but just having the option to go higher is nice. The touchscreen is a LITTLE resistive compared to the iPhone but its not a major worry and so far I've had no problems with it. It is simply the best camera phone on the market but if you're after the bells and whistles of the iPhone I'm afraid you'll be dissapointed. Though if you're after a relatively no frills, easy to use touchscreen phone with a powerful camera and a slick, smart design then look no further than the Sony Ericsson Satio! Rating:
