In the last 2 years I have had the following devices, in order of appearance: P910i, Motorola RAZR, Samsung Z400, Nokia N70, SE M600i and now I am back to using the N70. Not one of the replacement machines came ANYWHERE close to the all-round performance of the P910i. I had a P990 as a tryout for a month and it drove me mad. Now I am searching for another P910i. I know that it is old tech nowadays, but it is a rock-solid device, and is genuinely good at everything that counts for me - decent phone 1st and properly usable PDA 2nd. SE please take note: SCREEN SIZE DOES COUNT!

this phone is so good i bought 3 of them then the p990i but out of the2 choices i haveto say that the p910 is way better, easyfor the beginner to understand although my partner would say different. Although she has nails and does not need the pen, she still finds the openscreen difficult. On the whole i find the screen, options, and the setup to be so good i am always going to use this type of phone.

i've had the sony ericsson p910i for about two years. i'm quite happy with all of its features. i must however say that a phone that cost so much should be able to be in good working order after two years. as it is, the keyboard is not working. i thought the problem might be just my phone until i saw another user desperately trying to key in numbers on the keypad. sometimes you need to clap it open to be able to take a phone call. it's nerve wracking.

WOW Amazing phone, Im an IT nerd and always try and buy the best toys on the market, so I read loads of reviews & spoke to people before getting this phone. It has totally suppassed my expectations. Ive had it about 1year (16months) now and its never let me down, OK so it has crashed before, but then I do give it a bit of a thrashing sometimes, im sure XP would have crashed too. Ive put all sorts of software on it, from Golf to GPS-Navigator. I think the best feature about this phone is you have the choice to use it as a standard mobile with the flap up, or you can try to take over space stations with it open, people are still amased by me handwriting txt's or playing chess/golf on the train. Ohh the video is quite good, usefull if you miss your girlfriend. Downside well maybe battery life, if your on the phone and playing all day its only going to last 8-9hours, but hey if your that bothered get a backup battery, Im quite happy to charge most nights. size isnt an issue, its smaller and better than some laptops !! Its quite happily taken some bashes too. Go on get it... all its missing is wifi access for free surfing, but it may even have it, I cant be bothered to read the manual, if you are slightly nerdy you will figure it out anyway

I switched from Nokia because I was sick of the constant bugs I experienced when I bought their phones. After 2 weeks I love this phone and functionality, but there are two issues. 1. The display has already scratched significantly from stylus wear and I am quite concerned that if this is 2 weeks use, what can I expect after 6 months! Reminds me of the iPod issue. 2. The display limits viewing of the OEM supplied Quickword documents and Quicksheet spreadsheets. It would be nice if the software could rotate them because I could view more cells on the spreadsheet.

I have used several mobile phone, almost a new one every year. I decided to buy the so called mobile/PDA and I went for this phone (P 910i). The only good feature about it is it looks good, everything else is not worthwhile the money or publicity. These are the poor features: 1) Battery does not last long. 2) The phone freezes very frequently. And, Sony tech support does not want to know about it. They suggested to take the battery out every time it freezes. Ended up with battery out of phone more than it is in. 3) Very poor Tech support: I complained bitterly to Sony Erickson. They suggested to send it back to them (within 2 days after I bought the phone), at my own cost and no replacement. Unbelievable! 4) Website is even less helpful. 5) Poor reception and freezing. If the reception was poor (which was common compared to my wife?s simple Motorola phone) the 910i just freezes, again, the battery had to come out, switch it on again, really vicious circle. 6) Do you want more.....sincere advice, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE PS THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RATING OF ZERO (NOT 1) TO ASSIGN TO THE P910i.

The P910i is a much improved version with several utilities of a PDA. Availability of in-store accessories is difficult and you have to depend on internet for purchases. The battery life is shorter than that specified. In all, it is a great utility and a great phone to have.

This is my 3rd P910 Twice i had the symbian operating system crash Which means the phone cannot be repaired Under warranty, only replaced Iam only getting about 12 hours standby ONLY Less if i use the phone. (Screen brightness turned to low and no use of bluetooth) I have had the battery changed under warranty twice The keypad has cracked the edges of the screen surround (I use a genuine leather P910 case) Iam a experienced electronics technician not a salesperson and would not recommend this phone for its poor quality production methods used You may get one that works fine but unfortunately in today’s mass produced electronics market you may get a dud I don’t know what the chances are but in my opinion with this phone i believe its 30/100 I maybe getting a 4th phone soon As the problem still exists but it cannot be located by Sony Ericsson themselves.

I have my P910i for about 4 months and it is excellent. I've seen a lot of poor reviews for this phone which are unjustified. Ok it's starting to get a bit dated but it's availble at a good price. The camera is a VGA so if you're looking for camera then the P910i isn't for you. If you want the best phone/PDA availble then here it is. I used to have a windows PDA and carry a phone as well but this phone does both equally as well if not better and with the two combined picking up emails is a doddle. It you're thinking about this phone then buy one: you won't regret it.

Don't know which phones your 1 star reviewers have bought coz it certainly isn't the same as mine! I must be like millions worldwide, I run a business operating Outlook 2003 and I wanted a combined 'phone and PDA which wasn't the size of a brick to avoid carrying around 2 gizzmos at once, but to have office appointments, contacts, word and excell docs with me away from work. This the P910i does superbly. Speed? How many times have you reinstalled your laptop once its crawled to a halt with dodgy software? I reckon a lot of the complaints are from people filling their P910i up with crud 3rd party Symbian progs to try to take advantage of its extraordinary potential. That or they're intellectually challenged; if you can't understand the comprehensive instruction book, buy a base Nokia. Reliability? Well it has a Sony guarentee - no probs with mine. Its hung a couple of times on certain tracks on the excellent mp3 player (the one on my GX30 never worked properly) but I think that was due to bit rates rather than the 'phone. With this one and a 1GB card you can chuck away your iPod. Anyway which other 'phones have the potential to play complete widescreen movies with an add on piece of software? Cost? My Voda shop gave me it free as an upgrade and a SIM card for the old 'phone also free! Big thumbs? It comes with a screwdriver and blank to take off the flip down key board. With a virtual keyboard, predictive text, QWERTY board and handwriting recognition just how many ways do you want to input data (as well as USB/Ir/Bluetooth). Battery life? Is charging every 2 days such a hassle? In any case you can customise the large screen to cut down power consumption. Why only 4 stars? It really ought to have a mega pixel camera and flashlight and its still on the large side to carry around especially with the bulky case supplied. Watch this space for the next model.

Got this unit for about 2 months now, and was not very impressed nor amazed. It is just an "enhanced SEP900". Though, the memory is quite big with a 64mb internal and up to 1Gb external. Mp3 is quite good, camera of Nokia 6600 is better. The QWERTY concept needs to be imporved to a more Ergonomical way, as keypads are too tiny to text or write messages in an instant. Internet capability and speed is fair enough, but I must say that the colors and graphics and the physical design of this phone is "business-like". Sadly, the price is much expensive for ordinary yuppies to buy. All in all, I must give this phone an average rating as mentioned, I was not totally impressed with what Sony-Ericsson is trying to improve if there is any.

However I find that for some unknown reason the battery is really bad. It drains very quickly and that is just using the normal phone capability and adding a few contacts here and there.. Nothing special really. If you are planning to use BLUETOOTH then make sure you have a charger and a plug point handy because you will need to charge the phone daily. Other than that.. its a good phone

Do not buy this phone!! If it did what was advertised it would be great but let me assure you, after many hours with customer support, it does not. For those of you who want to synchronize your contacts with subcategories to your phone the program does not work as advertised. Neither does the software work for pictures and MP3's. I have 2 Pentium 2 Computers, XP, 2 gigs of memory and have had other phones that worked seamlessly with outlook and other programs. A class action lawsuit needs to be filed soon if Sony does not solve their false advertising and resolve these issues with a patch. I used P910i for a month but was not at all happy for the reasons: While connected to Internet, incoming calls are not available, though I have a separate phone nunber on my chip for Data Calls. So there is no point buying such an expensive phone when one can not remain connected all the time. The Keyboard lock system worked and behaved funny. The battery time is not what the producer claimed. It hardly lasted for 48 hours with PDA in use. The balance battery indicator was the worst. At times, when the battery was fully charged, it showed 0% and other time when the balance battery level was 0%, it showed 100% availability. The stylus pen is too small to work with. The owner's mannual is not user frienedly. So I got rid of it after a month and opted for Nokia 9500.
