Sony Ericsson K800i
Product Rating
Sony Ericsson K800i ReviewRating: Date: 11/12/2006 The Sony Ericsson K800i is a top of the range 3G camera phone. It is slightly on the heavy side weighing 115g although for a 3G phone this is not too bad. It is a candy bar design and comes in a black finish or in limited edition silver. It looks quite smart although some say that it is quite large and a bit brick like. The phone comes equipped with one of the best cameras around at the moment with a whopping 3.2 megapixels and 16 x digital zoom. It has a xenon flash that emits a burst of high intensity light for shooting pictures in low light conditions. The auto-focus feature means the camera automatically focuses on the subject in the focus area in the centre of the screen rather then using a fixed focus point.
It also comes with BestPic™ which is a feature that captures nine images in one second with one press of the camera; it captures four shots immediately before the camera key is pressed to complete the shot and four instantly after so you can choose the best picture. The image stabiliser function compensates for small movements of the hand helping to reduce blurry images. The phone is capable of video recording which also has a stabiliser function to reduce blurriness in the recording. It has video editing software, VideoDJ, which enables you to mix sounds, video clips, pictures and text that you are then able to send as a message. Its second camera is used for video calling. The only gripe about the camera is that some people have found the camera cover to be a nuisance as it slides off easily. The K800i also has an impressive display being amongst the highest quality in comparison with other top of the range phones. It has 262k colours and a resolution of 240 x 320. The screen is a large TFT display which means that it is visible even in bright sunshine. The phone has a good media and music player supporting MP3 and AAC formats as well as an FM Radio with a stereo output through the headphones. The radio has a search function and RDS which gives you digital text feeds of information transmitted by radio stations. The K800i also has a direct link to the PlayNow™ so music can be downloaded straight to your phone. The phone supports a superb 72-voice polyphonic sound so 72 notes can be played simultaneously, it can also use MP3's as ringtones. The Melody composer/MIDI (MusicDJ™) is a feature that allows you to create your own ringtones by combining sample music from the drum, guitar, keyboard, bass and brass tools. Memory is expandable with a Memory Stick Micro card giving you 1 GB as well as internal memory (64MB), to store your images, audio and video files on. This phone has a good range of connectivity with Bluetooth, USB, infrared and Fast port. With Bluetooth and infrared you can connect wirelessly to another device of the same capabilities, and with USB you can connect to a PC via a cable. The Fast port connection is an advanced system connector for connecting a charger, portable handsfree, cable or other accessory. With this being a 3G phone, the connection speeds to the internet are like broadband standards which is the fastest speed around for mobiles at the moment. UMTS is a technology that is capable of a 384 kbps data transfer. Battery life is very good for a 3G phone with up to 350 hours of standby time. It is run on a tri-band operating frequency which means that it will work in Europe and America but not Japan. In conclusion, this is a great 3G phone with some very good features. The music player is good although it's not specifically a walkman phone so it isn't as impressive as the W900i, however the K800i compensates for the music player by having such a fantastic camera. It is an all round good quality phone and we would recommend it.

Brilliant phone, the camera gives superb quality in almost any conditions i've found, really easy to use phone with simple menus & good used interface. Comes with a lot of features for a phone that's now a good few years old! Only downside I can think of is that the lens cover on the camera slides open when its in your pocket but otherwise great phone. Sony ericsson have once again proved themselves as making simple, easy to use well built phones. Its really quite a good looking phone as well for a chunkier model but hey. Rating:

With a price tag of £150 in 2006, was alot of money but well worth it. At its time this was THE BEST phone on the market. I really enjoyed playing with the video editor; great application! the photos taken are of really high quality for a mobile camera and the memory on the 'M2' slot is more than enough. The phone is on the heavy side but the features and the immage quality really make up for it. Well done Sony Ericsson! Rating:

Reviewed by Sianlover on 09/10/2009 I've had my K800i for a couple of years now, and it's grown on me. It's battery life is excellent, and it has an abundance of features compared to my old Nokia. Even so, it's been a case of my gradually getting to use those various features. Some, such as the web browser, are not of much use to me - but may turn out handy one day. Others, such as the movie player, have already proven a delight. I was recently on a flight from Spain to London, and I passed it by watching "The Incredibles", which I had converted using Total Video Converter. I'd not have believed such a thing possible, but with a set of headphones plugged in, I very quickly forgot how small the phone's screen is, and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. As to the supposed vulnerability of the camera lens cover, the answer is to protect it! My K800i is invariably clipped to my belt in a little case called a "BODY GLOVE", bought on Ebay for the princely sum of about four pounds. Seriously, folks, if you own a decent phone, or a decent anything, it makes sense to look after it. Rating:
Reviewed by Eugene on 23/09/2009 It is the best phone you can get. Rating:
Reviewed by Mike on 18/09/2009 I've had this phone for 3 years now. As a phone, it is a very good model; it is fast, it never crashes, and it has one of the best signal receptions I've ever seen on a phone. As a camera, it's rubbish; the lens cover keeps sliding open in my pocket; this led to dust getting underneath the lens, which after 4 months was enough for all photos to be coming out hazy especially in sunlight. I took it to both a Sony Ericsson representative and a photographer, and both said it cannot be opened to be cleaned. Eventually I got a replacement, and the same happened after 4 months of getting it. Another issue is that the joystick gets damaged after about a year, and it doesn't work well anymore in all directions. Despite the above issues, I'm still reluctant to change it, because it has no problems as a phone, no crashes, a good battery life and a good size and weight for a 3G phone. Rating:
Reviewed by Jazz on 06/09/2009 this phone is surprisingly very good. amazing camera/ mp3 player etc. reliable. really good features, clear graphics etc. a few downsides; it's a damn ugly phone! it has a bit of a clunky, heavy feeling, and the battery life is only any good if the screen is at its lowest brightness. the camera cover slides off easily, too. but apart from this i am really pleased i bought this phone! the camera and the other features definitely make up for the design faults. well done sony!! :) x Rating:

And it's very easy to use, the camera is exelent! Reviewed by Manfred on 05/08/2009 Had a k800i a year ago and since then have been through that many different phones i've lost count! Where am i now...back with a trusty K800i of course! Even tried the Nokia 5800 touchscreen but still i came back to Sony. Ok these phones are 'old hat' now but in my opinion they are a still wicked cmaera phone. The picture quality is outstanding. Ok there were issues with the joystick wearing out on some models but hey it can be sorted. The k800i oozes quality, feels really well made. The phone itself is an absolute doddle to work, great for texting...even with big clumsy fingers like mine! If you've never owned one then i suggest you buy one, go on you won't be dissapointed i promise. Rating:
Reviewed by Lesley on 04/08/2009 love this mobile, really toying as to whether to change it though as the down side is the fact that you keep catching the slide for the camera on the back of the phone and also the internet button is right near the back/cancel button, the number of times i have hit it. Reviewed by Nathan on 21/07/2009 Good while it worked. This was a great phone. The pictures it took were good quality, for me it wasn't too heavy or bulky, the music player was fine and i got on fine with the joystick. I was really unhappy to find that after two years of use it didn't turn on. I tried charging it, I tried buying a new battery, neither worked. All I got was the red light on the side flashing when I turned it on. I googled it, found a solution and that didn't work. Now I'm using this basicish Nokia and they don't compare! Rating:
Reviewed by kate on 18/07/2009 Overall, a very impressive phone! The image quality from the camera is fantastic, and mp3 playback through the provided headphones is impressive, though bass is predictably weak when using the inbuilt speaker. The menus are very clear and easy to navigate, and the screen is just beautiful - very bright and sharp. Some people have complained about the size of the phone, but it's quite easy to find the handset dimensions on the internet, or even go into a shop and look at one. I agree that the styling may be a little 'boxy' for some, but it's growing on me and I quite like the contrast of the angular face with the more gently curving sides. If you're surprised by the physical appearance when it arrives, you haven't done your research properly! As some people have noted, the software installation is a little cumbersome, as you have to rely on windows XP repeatedly 'detecting new hardware' and prompting you to install drivers - a good half a dozen times in all. However, once installed, it worked perfectly for me. The only real complaint I have is about battery life - as I type this it's at less than 5%, having only been charged 30hrs ago. In that time I've used it for perhaps 20mins in camera mode, 30mins in mp3 playback mode, and about 4hrs in phone mode (creating address book entries, text messages etc). As most other reviewers have praised the battery life, I expect that in my case this is just due to a faulty battery, or maybe there's some standby setting I haven't discovered yet. I've always been a Nokia user, and have been daunted by the thought of changing phone brands, especially since Nokia is renowned for it's great user friendliness. However, after gettting the k800i, i dare say that Sony Ericsson has come a long way, and maybe even surpassed Nokia. In short, the features of the k800i: Good camera with real flash. Though the protruding lens cover is prone to sliding open in your pocket. Very large, clear, and bright screen. Nice user interface and menus. Easy to use. Good organiser (calendar, alarms, etc.) Nice bundled software (Facewarp, 3D games) What attracts me to phones are its features, and this phone has most of the features u could want. Cons: Battery life seems shorter than what is advertised. Don't know if it's the network (3), but signal drops off and on, sometimes goes to roaming. Would like a PDF viewer. Phone does not come bundled with an external memory card. Great phone, had it about a month and i love it. It is larger than my last phone which was the K750i but i don't care as the screen is so much better and the camera really is amazing! I've tried the 3G and its quite good, one of the best i've seen and working for a video conferencing company, i've seen a few! The only thing i would say is that the camera cover does slide off very easily exposing the camera a lot, but it's not a massive thing. Apart from that i love it and i'm really glad i went for another Sony Ericsson as an upgrade!! Had this phone for a week and took it back and exchanged for a Samsung D900. Reasons why - The phone is like a brick, the camera lens cover is pathetic even with keylock on if you have it in your pocket this opens it activates the camera causing your battery to wear down, the keypad is small and is a nightmare. To be fair the camera is superb hence the 2 stars. My advice take the D900 over the K800i anyday!! recieved this phone last saturday and i am still finding new things on it everyday , i have to say this phone is amazing in every way the features and options are unlimited theres so much you can do with it i couldn't be more happier with this phone brilliant!!!! well done sony ericsson you are the best!!! if this phone was alive i would marry it!!!This is an attractive, well balanced (ie nice to hold) phone. The screen is excellent, the camera good for a mobile although no match for a 3MP compact camera. Sound quality is amazing, calls are really clear. The supplied headphones are good although it would have been preferable if you could plug in your own. The software is vastly improved on previous Sony's. Integration and syncing with Outlook is spot on. I could at a pinch ditch my PDA and use this instead. The downside are simply the buttons are far too small. I don't have overlarge fingers but you almost need to use a stylus to operate some of them. Sony have retained the 'nipple' joystick control. It is very easy to select the wrong option when using it. Although the screen is very clear, it is difficult to see in bright sunlight - a problem I encountered with the T610 a few years ago. I've decided to return it and exchange it for a Samsung D900, which is probably the best phone available at the moment.Great phone, except only had it for a month and already joystick failing! a problem I had with my K750i had to send it back monthly to be fixed, seems things aren't going to change! Best phone by miles. Top quality camera (3.2 mp), top sound quality, well built. This phone is absolutely outstanding. I have had this phone for a week now and I am still finding little extra's that make this phone different from the rest, for example, there is two buttons next to the speaker at the top of the phone and the 3.2 MEGA PIXEL CAMERA has a cover, a flash and auto focus. But moving onto the overall performance of the phone, now I seem to notice that this phone is very quick for a 3G phone and it is very light weight aswell. But as an overall of the phone is has everything an 11 year - old like me needs!! Rating:

Reviewed by Becky Martin on 07/06/2009 I bought this phone in November 2007 on pay as you go, then upgraded to a contract. It is a fantastic phone. I don't use it much for listening to music on, and have never used the headphones, but the sound quality is great through loudspeaker. The camera is excellent for a phone of this price: my pictures are clear and have always come out very well on my computer as opposed to my Nokia N73 (which I've now got rid of), the call quality is really clear, the ring volume is very high. I love the fact that you can download themes for the K800i too. I've only had a software fault once after owning it for nearly two years. Texting on the K800i is also good: I would have preferred the space bar to be on the 0 key rather than the # key, like Nokia, though you soon get used to it. I'm not overly keen on the joystick, it's bulky, and the web browser is a little bit slow, but these are my only criticisms. It's very reliable, has never let me down. It's taken a battering though is still going strong. Battery life is also good, only have to charge it every other day. If you want a solid phone that can pretty much keep up with the best of them, I'd pick this. Outstanding phone! Rating:

The battery was taken out and recharged fully in anther K800i so I know it then had a full battery but my phone still won't turn on. Sony Ericsson were contacted different attemps were tried and then I was told there was power failure to the hand set. Why I don't know. I know of a couple of other K800i users that have had similar trouble with the phone. So take heed and if it starts to act up or freeze go back to where you bought it and ask to get it to be checked out. 23.5.09 Rating:

Some small problems have risen over the year and a half though. The phone lags sometimes but this seems to have been a rather isolated occurrance. The joystick is very stiff sometimes and needs quite an effort to navigate sometimes. However, I seem to have gotten used to it. I have currently got 314 songs on my phone with the 2GB memory card and still got 527MB left! This is a quality phone. Avoid the Nokia N82 alternative because the resolution is fairly poor, and it is a modern day one - that means it will freeze a lot, it will crash sometimes, and worst of all, it will be very compicated with poor sound quality. But these are small beer compared to the outstanding camera with xenon flash, video calling, crisp clear sound in the earpiece and a host of other features too many to mention. The phone could benefit from a recessed camera, a D pad and a more secure camera lens cover but once these were fixed you'd have a camera that was second to none. Reviewed by C on 23/03/2009 I had this phone for just over 2 years. I can honestly say it was absolutely incredible. The only reason I'm replacing it is because I lost it; otherwise I wouldn't change at all! The camera is great, with enough fun features to keep one entertained for a long time. I was able to keep hundreds of texts, and quite a lot of photos. I can't comment on battery life - I always had it plugged in every evening, so I never knew whether it was terrible or outstanding. I, personally, had no issues with the look it had, although quite a few of my friends referred to it as 'the brick', but each to their own. One thing to take into account; it's not a music phone. If you want to put a load of songs onto a phone, this is not your ideal mobile with a lacking memory - but this isn't a problem if you prefer to have an mp3 player/etc. Also, after about a year and a half, the mobile would occasionally freeze - but only when scrolling through vast amounts of texts/photos - as soon as they were uploaded onto the computer and taken off the mobile, problem solved! P.C. suite a little annoying, but that may be more to do with my own old dying laptop. All in all, an incredible phone and well-worth buying. Reviewed by Anne on 16/02/2009 Sony Ericsson really made it's name by issuing the K800i. And if you don't want a phone as a fashion statement, it can easily hold it's own years after it's first release. SE have been issuing some real lemons with abysmal build quality since, like the SE S500i, which literally falls to pieces in weeks. Let's hope the C905 lives up to it's expectations though already there are numerous reports of the earpiece breaking. The K800i is of a real solid build and has many features lacking in later models. A proper xenon flash for example. I've tried many other phones, but none match up to the k800i. Not exactly a fashionable phone but one with a wealth of features, good battery life and a superb camera. The music player isn't bad either considering it's not a walkman phone. I've given up on the 'fashion statements' and returned to the k800i because first and foremost it's a phone and it does it's job remarkably well. Highly recommended. Grab one while you can. Reviewed by Erick on 13/02/2009 This is arguably one of Sony Ericsson's finest devices and has one of the best camera systems on a mobile device. It is of such a high standard that the K800i, 2 years since its market debut, continued to be a compelling alternative to newer mobiles on the market and the fact that many reviewers here return to the K800i proves this all the more. And its features are certainly up-to-date in convenience and ease of use, including its xenon flash, video calling function, and personal organising functions. The K800i can also be regarded as having the potential for offering most things that "smartphones" can offer such as internet browsing and email functionality. By enhancing the browsing abilities by installing the outstanding Opera Mini browser on the device and you have a powerful internet communications device at your disposal. DO you really need a £300+ WIndows Mobile when a java based design of this calibre can do all this for you? By installing further applications such as Yahoo Go you can further extend its value as a mobile companion. Apart from several points this mobile is superb. Video recording resolution could be better, and Wi-Fi, a document viewer and a more robust joystick design would have been welcome. Apart from the document viewer, the C905 appears to offer this and could be seen as the natural successor to this device, but in all frankness the K800i could comfortably continue as it is clearly an outstanding pice of engineering. Strongly recommended. Buy one while you still can on the world market. Rating:

It also has a powerful xenon flash which lights up even the darkest environments. Little details which are dropped on later models make this phone especially useful, for example having a sleep clock which also shows missed calls and texts instead of having to fire up the phone to check. I don't know why SE dropped this, it's really useful.Has a good set of ringtones or you can set your own music to be the ringtone. The only thing I am really dissapointed about is the video recording on the camera isn't that good and I also think that they should have included a video light for recording videos in the dark, another thng which I was a bit disssapointed about was the music player but then again it is a cyber-shot phone for taking pictures and not a walkman focused on playing music so that is OK. I also think that the build quality of the phone is very good and feels like a quality phone and is nice and solid and I would recommend this phone because it is a very reliable phone and after almost 2 years the phone has only froze on me once or twice which is very good. I als o think that this phone looks very smart and business like and the buttons are a decent size. all in all I would definately recommend this phone because it has good build quality, very reliable, looks smart, very popular and is simply excellent value for money and can be bought for around £70-£180. The M2 memory card slot is also good as you can buy 1 Gigabyte M2 memory cards out of PC World. The phone is also 3G which allows video calling and online 3GP video streaming due to the high speed of GPRS data transfer. However, it would be good if the phone took videos in the AVI format rather than the typical mobile phone 3GP format. AVI videos can be then put into Windows Movie Maker on your Windows Computer. WiFi would also be good to save turning on the computer and to save money to check e-mails and browse the weather forecast. (WiFi is Wireless Fitelity and requires a Wireless Router) The protector for the lens is also nice, but opens too easily and results in me taking pictures of my pocket accentetially. The downside is the web browser, you sitch off the images to save data costs, but you are still charged fr downloading them as the phone downloads everything off the web page. It justs hides the images, but you are still charged for them. Opera Mini works great on the K800i too. I use the camera and video all the time. At the end of the day, if you're thinking about getting it, do not be put off by the bad reviews. The only problem I noticed is that the phone's internet button is really easily pressed while in your pocket, which turns on the internet and costs money. I had to change the settings so the internet was disabled. The battery life is average. Calling, playing music and using the camera obviously drains the battery like every phone, but you have the ability to keep the screen brightness low, which make the battery lasts longer. The volume isnt as loud as i would have liked, but that is something i have just had to come to terms with. This phone has been dropped and smashed about a number of times and is still going strong albeit a few scratches. In terms of price and q uality, the phone is a must buy. Reviewed by Anna on 13/11/2008 It took me a while to like ths phone, simply because its black bricklike shape made it look butch and mannish, I thought. Then I saw the silver version and my eyes lit up! It was just so attractive. Once I'd actually bought one I found a wealth of features, amazing camera, impressive music player and a host of other features. And it was so so easy to use! The software is easily installed and ransferring music over was a breeze. Once I'd had my socks knocked off by what this phone could acually do I began to see it in a new light. I found that superficially 'attractive' phones (ahem like the S500i) could be a pile of old rubbish while those more subtle designs could deliver in amazing style. So in a sense I became less superficial. When my silver one gave up the ghost I bought the black version I'd hated so much before! I find it so tactile, the rubber coating is so velvety hence it's name velvet black. Yes, it's big but it still fits in the handbag or pocket easily. So thankyou SE, you've made a convert out of me! Reviewed by Zoe on 11/11/2008 What a phone! It's not pretty by any measure, but is packed with features. If you can overlook it's brick like appearance you will not regret buying it. Add a 2g M2 memory card and you will have plenty of room for thousands of songs and pictures. And you can use your own music as the ringtone. It's durable - dropped mine plenty of times and no damage whatsoever. Although big it can still fit in your pocket or handbag. I usually get tired of phones after a few months, but not this one. I've bought samsungs (what a mistake) and nokias (not bad) but I always keep coming back to this one. The battery is OK but the good thing is, it charges up very quickly. On the downside, the headphones supplied are pretty poor and just won't stay in. I bought a new set and the sound is brilliant. Unfortunately SE have their own style charger and headphones so if you did want to change the headphones you can't use your own set, you'd have to buy SE ones. This is a bit of a rip off. Apa rt from that I'm still giving it 5 stars because it really is an outstanding phone. You can get it now for ridiculously low prices,as it's about to be discontinued, so my advice is go out and get it before supplies run out! Rating:

I was looking for a phone with durability (not that i'm at all clumsy). So I went looking through the shops and I found the K800i! and basically it's incredible, it's the best phone I've ever had, I bought the phone cover which completely removes the problem of the lens camera. and battery life, and literaly every feature is just so much better. Also, the W350i phone had a (to be honest) rubbish camera, 1 megapixel and it couldn't even record video, this is quite the opposite, as it's one of the best camera's about on a phone and records video and has both Video Dj and Photo Dj. Now to the problems my games wouldnt work after about 5 months, after about 7 months some of my pictures were deleted by the phone dont know how, my music wouldn't work very well either, the phone slowed right up when using 2 applications, the final straw came when my headphone stopped working therefore i had to recieve calls through my loudspeaker turned right down, this made me look like trigger happy Dom. NICE! I took the phone back and it was returned within 2 weeks in full working order and was given to my Dad who had no problems with it. Apart from the minor faults it was a excellent phone. Reviewed by Nancy on 06/11/2008 This phone is a LEGEND! It raised the benchmark for what we could expect from camera phones. The bright xenon flash leaves others in the shade as they cling on to their paltry LED flashes. And it's not just the camera which excels. With the addition of a memory card, the music player is excellent though not a walkman phone, so can't expect all the features that come with those. But it does the job and it does it well. It makes me laugh when others complain about the small keypad. Have you seen the tiny keypads on many phones these days? And the touch sensitive ones, well don't get me started on those. I cannot recommend this phone highly enough and as a self confessed phone addict, I've been through quite a few phones, but always come back to this old favourite. Of course it has it's downsides, and these will put many people off. It's big and the camera lens juts out at the back. Heavy phones are good for taking pictures though as they reduce camera shake. It's solid build gives you a sense of security (mine has suffered many drops and come up smiling) as the current trend for the thinnest phones makes you feel like they will snap apart in your hand. OK, not a phone for everyone, but if you're willing to overlook it's bricklike shape then you're in for a real treat. They have been discontinued and stocks are currently running out so if you find one it will really be at a knockdown price. Go on, get one! Rating:

Reviewed by Gaz on 11/09/2008 I'v had this phone for around a year now and it has stood the test of time, apart from the odd scratch this phone has survived being dropped and bashed (not that you should do this) proving how durable and reliable it really is. I previously had a Samsung E900 which was amazingly easy to use but just lacked a decent camera. I am very pleased with the camera on the K800i and on most occassions it has replaced the use of my digital camera as it is easy to use and simply takes cracking shots :) The music player is superb though it now crashes occasionally but i can put that down to the phones age. Buttons are deceivingly easy to use and the toggle stick isnt that bad. As mentioned in the review my only concern is the camera lens cover which slides open on many occassions leaving me with lots of picturs of the inside of my pocket, just what i needed :S all in all a very good phone, easy to use, well organised, good design and weight and one hell of a camera. Would recommend! :) Rating:

I was recommended by several people, not all with vested interests, that the K800i was an excellent and well proven phone, so I took the plunge. In the year which has passed since then, the phone has been back to the 3 tech. dept. no less than three times and to SonyEricsson once, always because it refuses to accept charge; currently it refuses to send text messages, but since I can change it next week, that is precisely what I'll be doing. I am told that the phone has lots of wonderful features, but frankly I don't care, my phone is for talking on, and the very occasional text, I do however talk on it a great deal, and since this phone has been away being repaired for over 5 of the last 52 weeks I will not be sorry to see the end of it. Built in FM Radio tells you the names of each station. 6. 3G calling is great, there are two cameras on the phone, one at front and one at back - you can use either in 3G. 7. Application Face Warp is great fun. DISADVANTAGES: 1.Music player isn't that great to use but it's fine. 2. Speakers aren't too loud. 3. Main menu sometimes takes a little too long to loud. My biggest complaint however has to be the keypad unlocking whilst in my pocket. From time to time I will retrieve my phone from my pocket and find I am browsing the web, eating away at my credit or, as happened the other day, I recieve a text from a friend saying I have sent her 18 blank messages in 5 minutes. Amazing feat for a locked phone in my pocket! Reviewed by Matt T on 04/06/2008 I've had one for six months. It's questionable as to whether the superb quality of the camera makes it worth putting up with all the other annoyances. What I love about my K800i: - 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera with real flash is really superb. - Excellent screen. - Speakerphone. - Idiot-proof synchronisation of phone book, to-do list and calendar using Bluetooth with the built in iSync application on my Mac. What I can't stand about my K800i: - There's no flashing LED to indicate a missed call or text. - The lens cover always opens in my pocket, so I often stick my finger on the lens. - It doesn't automatically lock the keypad unless you are on the standby screen - because of this a lot of unintentional things have happened while it has been in my pocket. - Mine occasionally looses the connection to the memory stick, causing new photos to be thrown away instead of stored. - I very often inadvertently answer calls while it is still in my pocket, even before I realise it is ringing. (Yes, anykey answer is off). - The earpiece volume is very low, even on maximum. - It's not small. Rating:

Reviewed by Celia - Australia on 30/05/2008 I spent ages deciding on whether to get this phone as the reviews are pretty mixed. I got it 3 months ago and, despite being a sturdy all-rounder, I have to agree with all the negatives. Camera lense is very sensitive and often slides off when in a bag or pocket; battery life is poor (poorer when being drained by the open camera lense WHICH can activate the camera even when keypad lock is on...whose idea was that?); buttons are a bit too small (even for me and I have small hands!) and this make general texting and quick usage a problem. The biggest issue for me is that material used for the buttons is rubber-like and makes it hard to glide seamlessly from key to key, and as they are so close together you often hit two or more keys at once. However the advantages, like the amazing camera (which is as good as my proper digital camera, anyone that says otherwise is talking rubbish), good games and cool applications, like the photo and ringtone editor, may just make up for these issues to some. I spent $300 on mine and am still considering on swapping for a different model, with all the phones on the market I'm sure better options offering fewer problems are available. Overall I've had no serious issues the entire time I've owned it, so if you think you can handle the negatives pointed out by most reviewers...this is the phone for you! Disappointing that a few annoying things ruin what could have been an AWESOME phone. Rating:

The phone organizer applications easily synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. When I bought the phone Sony Ericsson PC suite did not work well with my phone, but since then Sony had released updates and now entire synchronization process works flawlessly. The only critique that I have is for the phone phonebook application, which is too simple to my taste. I would like to have more option to sort and categorize clients. Typing messages on this phone is easy. The phone writing assistant has extensive library of words to simplify and speed up writing process. The phone camera is only ok. It takes excellent pictures outside but at night or indoor pictures do not look great. For sure you will be disappointed if you expect standalone Cybershot camera quality pictures. Reviewed by Minty on 21/05/2008 I LOVE this phone! Have had it for about 7 months and it has never let me down once! Yes it's fairly heavy (but I find the weight quite reassuring, as you can feel it it in your pocket, and feel if someone 'borrows' it). The camera is amazing, it has a good flash and PhotoDJ software means that you can fix things like redeye on the phone itself). The music quality isn't as good as the W810i, but this is a 'camera' phone, and not a 'walkman' phone. The only thing that I don't much like is the fact that the camera lens cover on the back of the phone can be quite easily knocked open, and this does drain the battery a bit, but seeing as this is such a small thing on such a great phone, I can't mark it down for it (I don't want to, hehe). I've also dropped mine on the floor a couple of times and the scratches are hardly noticable, and I dropped it on concrete! I feel completely 'naked' without this phone in my pocket and take it everywhere with me, it also wakes me in the morning (it has five alarms). If you are after an excellent phone that does exactly what it says on the tin, without fuss whilst still being feature-packed, the K800i is the phone for you. Reviewed by elis on 13/05/2008 I reviewed this phone here a while back, well unfortunately Im finding the pros outweigh the cons. Sure the camera is good, but the flimsy lens cover that slides down far too easily just eats your battery. That, however pales, when you consider the tiny orange world button which is located right between 2 most used buttons is rediculously easy to touch without realising it... It is exceptionally sensitive. Point in question, its happened to me several times but I have always noticed pretty quickly, today however I find that I have lost almost £9 worth of payg credit as it had connected without my realising. Frankly I'm livid, I am not in position to lose almost £10 worth of credit, which was only added a couple of days ago & had to last me a month. Please be warned, this is not just a one off incident confined to me, I have heard other folks have the same issues. There is a keylock to prevent accidental calls etc when your phone is perhaps in a pocket or bag, but on the whole if your phone is lying on a desk you'd be unlikely to want to keep activating/deactivating it, especially if you use the phone frequently. Thumbs up for the camera, thumbs down for the buttons design. Rating:

Reviewed by Darren on 29/04/2008 The K800i was highly recomended to me so I took the gamble even though I said to myself I would never get another Sony Ericsson with a joy stick again as they dont last two minutes! I wasn't wrong, gradually the joystick does come to a hault, but that was exspected and the phone is still useable. This wasn't rally the problem. The phone within weeks started to fail on SMS that were over 160 characters long, I sent the phone back and it was repaired. no real problems after that until i had had the phone for other a year. and this is what bugged me the most, the phone appears to be only built to last a year. messages are failing again and my ear piece and mic both stopped working for a while but seem to working at the moment for the time being. i just think its a poor do if my phone cant last the duration of my contract. the is however a good one, i havent got bored of it unlike a samsung the only problem is i havent noticed much difference form my old W800i, which,lo oking back, did have a better battery, battery only lasts 2to3day on th k800. oh also sony's are slow there is always a delay when opening anything up, but its something you get used to and eventually dont care about. I would maybe, well most probably recomend the W810i over this phone, sure the camera isn't as good but you loos the naff joystick, its lighter, smaller and the battery lasts a week, better for music too, i use my phone as an mp3 player too because there is no point in carring round two things when one can do the job perfectly well i never used to do that with my W800, probably why the battery seems better onn the W line, because they are built for that. with the W810i you also get a free memory card, which you have to pay extra for on the K800i. watch out for sony's head phones as well, it always seems that the right ear piece packs in first i'm on my third pair and they are rubbish, they come out in your poket and when you plug them back in the phone doesn't register them, however they are walkman head phones. i also dont think that the small key pad is really a problem but on the w810 they are easier to use, the is cheaper too, but i'v seen the k800 for about £70 now. any way of you don choose this phone, good luck it is an ok phone its just problem that keep recuring from old modles that sony should have really fixed years ago! Reviewed by Elis on 19/04/2008 My previous phone was a Sanyo 750i & I was very happy with it, but unfortunately it met with a soggy end & had to be replaced. Had it still been available I'd've gone for the 750i again, its no longer around. After countless hours spent checking reviews for the SE K800i I opted to buy it, primarily as I wanted a decent camera. Firstly I was happy to see that its size & weight wasn't as bad as some folks had decreed. Sure the lens cap at the back sticks out a tad, but not offensively so. The screen is a fair size, not a patch on the sanyo 750i, which didn't have the extra internal border. Set up was easy & quick. Having small fingers helped as some of the keys are tiny. Personalising wasn't the greatest if you opt to use some of the presets, they're not exactly inspiring, but this isn't a great issue to me, besides the screen doesnt stay on long enough so having a cool screen saver or whatever isn't a priority. You can of course upload your own pics to use. The men u is straightforward & easy to navigate with the joystick. Be gentle with the stick! The camera facility seems fair, again (sorry to keep harping), it is not as easy to use nor in my personal oppo as good as the Sanyo which had 2 cameras. The lens cover does as others have noted slide down way to easily.. bit of white tac would solve it, but for sure we should not have to be doing that! I haven't used the music player but I have the radio, which gives good reception & is again easy to navigate through channels. One thing I am very disappointed with the K800i, is the lack of any indicators that either calls have been missed or texts are waiting. No LED light, no beeps! You have to keep checking the handset.. what's with that? Seems like a basic requirement I'd think, or maybe, again, I was spoiled with the Sanyo 750i ;) Overall I would say the SE K800i is an attractive, easy to use phone with a good camera... just not as good or as my poor ole Sanyo 750i! I ignored the fact that it can't hold a broadband speed connection for more than a few seconds, taking a matter of minutes to give you something less than a dial-up connection. Also, the camera lens cover opens all the time in your pocket, wasting so much battery. It's huge, , and now my games and applications have completely stopped working, and 'operation failed' comes up whenever I click to open the file. The screen often turns off too! that's another thing, the screen! it gets so many fingerprints, it's unbelievable! the pros are that it has excellent battery life, and excellent camera and flash etc, good music player, great texting capabilties and an average memory :-) im thinking about trying a nokia soon. maybe the 5610 or 6500 slide i wouldn't reccommend this phone for people who like looks on a phone, but more for people who want good features for a low price. The camera is really good though with a big screen and amazing colour but because this phone has lots of features it tends to freeze like a computer, like when you look through your pictures it just stops...so annoying!! Also i feel the buttons are really stiff so it makes it difficult to type. Oh, and when i first got this phone, when i was texting i was constantly pressing the camera button which is on the side where (if your a righty) your palm rests. Reviewed by Nick on 04/03/2008 After returning a disappointing D900i (see review on D900i or D900) I was back to square one. I look at the phones on my carrier (Optus) and all of them were like toy phone until the k800i was available on my carrier. I brought the phone as soon as they had it in stock for a steal at $275 AUS - $24 dollar off because my work and the place where I brought the phone are under the same corporation and guess what it is cheaper then the d900i ($340 outright off eBay). When I turn on the phone the first time, it sounded and looked all right. I checked the sound to see if it loud enough before I brought it and the sound is awesome, it is nowhere near a Nokia 6233/6234 (due to it stereo 3D speakers) however the sound it still loud and clear and it is not disappointing, Sometime when it rings I get a shock due to it loudness. Furthermore I am able to here it in my pocket with an iPod sock on unlike the d900i without the sock on. I wanted a camera around 2MP but this has a 3. 2MP with a xenon flash and the camera is the best. I can take picture at Night. The screen resolution is awesome. The message tone can be change unlike the d900i and not only that, the d900i default message tone were a joke (Actually the whole phone was a joke, who ever had problem with the k800i and exchanged for a d900i and probably a N73 is a fool). The games are awesome, the memory is not too bad but it managed to be full if you want to use your mobile phone as a MP3 player, my advice is to get a memory card for it. I manage to brought a 2GB M2 Memory Stick for $50. The battery life is pretty darn good, even with 3G on and full brightness. I manage to get at least 3 Days battery life with moderated/high usage. I love the Music Player as it has a similar format of the walkman players. I leave the iPod video at home and take the phone to school. However, the only thing I dislike on the k800i is the joystick, because it can break, if the phone not taken care of, but my old k508i had one and I am very experienced with them. This phone easily kills the Samsung d900i and in addition the Nokia N73. The N73 has the smallest button that I ever seen on the phone and the d900i was a pain in the bum. In addition my mate’s N73 constantly freezes and in my opinion it ugly. The only time my phone has froze was during a game or looking though old text messages because I had over 500 stored on my phone. I love face warp because I can edit all my mates and make them look funny. I think people should stop criticizing that this phone is heavy because it is not. Who ever think that it is are girls (or boys) who like phone that look good and have no feature with a high price tag, like the overrated Motorola V3 and LG chocolate, which I may add have so many problem. Most of the time I have to check if the phone is in my pocket because I might of lost it or forgot it. Nevertheless, the k800i is so worth the buy. It is my camera, mp3 and phone in one, on the g o. I love this phone and Sony Ericsson. In addition, I believe Sony Ericsson is the best manufacture of mobile phone as well as Nokia (because they also make fine handset). Thank for reading my review Sorry it took me a while (see the date of the d900i review and this review, there a 3 months different) because I having so much fun with this handset and I have been busy. The whole aspect of the phone is good it is not to bulky and not to heavy like other phones on the market. The screen quality is brilliant,no problems with the camera cover sliding open as with other reviews have pointed out. It is a pity that the phone has not come with a memory card for the price that you pay .love the face warp application. Above all a great phone and i would recommend this to any-one. Reviewed by katie on 14/02/2008 I originaly had the Samsung X660 which was an ok phone as a starter, but I wanted something that had excellent features, looked good and wasn't too expensive. The Sony Ericsson K800i was perfect. Some people would say it's too chunky, but it's a good balanced weight in my opinion. The camera is great and it's a lot of fun editing the pictures in Photo DJ. A 3 megapixel camera for under £100 is a very good deal. The two main issues for me were the memory and battery life. However, a memory card is cheap and gives a lot more memory, and if the phone is charged every night it works great. Basically, an amazing phone. I'd reccomend it to anyone. Rating:

I've owned Nokia mobile phones for the past five/six years and I believe this is as good as if not better than the Nokia brand. The camera quality is excellen and I found it really easy to transfer files online. Only slight problem was the overly clicky key pad. Its not too loud but noticable in a quiet room/office. Yes the phone is heavier than many of the slim lightweight slider phones but this is not a problem. I feel they are too delicate and small and are prone to breaking easily with constant use. Therefore I think it is better to have a phone with a bit more weight and therefore durabilty. Five stars !!! Rating:

Reviewed by Marlon on 11/01/2008 Had this phone a week now and what can i say...absolutely marvellous! Had the K750i for over a year and was well happy with that but as you do you go for a change...no regrets whatsoever. Love the larger screen and just like the K750i everything is pin sharp. A few people have mentioned the small internet button on the top left of the phone being caught quite easily, i do see what they mean BUT so far touch wood i haven't caught it once! If you've got stubby fingers (which i have) texting can be a bit more difficult than the K750i but so far i'm getting along just fine with it. Camera quality is top class! Video, mmm...its ok. The phone has loads of features and its great to see (as usual with Sony) you can put your own message tone on, Samsungs don't do that hee! hee! Sound quality is superb. Where Sony Ericsson fall flat with this phone (the tight gits) is the fact they don't supply an M2 memory card as part of the package...not good customer relations that. Hunt around on the net (such as Amazon) and you can get a 1GB original Sony one for £11 (i did) and that includes p & p! Argos will quite happily charge you £34.99 for exactly the same card! Pays to shop around as they say. Some people have mentioned they've had problems with the software, i can honestly say mine has been fine. Transferred loads of pics and music on to the phone without one hitch. Perhaps this was a problem with the earlier models? The phone is chunky that is true but it feels really solid and well made. Its not that heavy as some people have said, to be honest i prefer a phone with a bit of weight to it anyway. Some phones out there are incredibly flimsy! To sum up then...a fantastic phone (so far) and would thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of getting one not to think anymore...do it...get one...NOW! Rating:

Reviewed by jhay on 07/01/2008 as a small time photographer, i should say that this fone rocks. stunning images in good and low ligh condition. it has everything you need, from infrared port to bluetooth, from radio to mp3 as well as browser. xenon flash did a very good job in low light condition. the only flaw i noticed is that after a couple of days of digital photography, the shutter keep on re-focusing even though you have half-pressed the shutter already. so that makes 2 times focusing(one in half-press and one in full press) per picture. the only good thing is that some pictures still managed to stay crisp. i will bring back the phone and have it exchanged for another unit of sony ericsson k800i, hoping that the shutter condition is just another sony ericsson factory defect and is not meant to perform like that. Reviewed by Emily on 07/01/2008 I have had this phone for a while now. And I must say I am so impressed, I know i can rely on a Sony Ericsson from previous mobiles. I really love the camera on it, I am a keen photogrpaher and wanted a phone that had a pretty decent camera, and I found one. Some people moan about the lense cover, calling it pathetic, but honestly it protects it and when you have a 3.2 megapixel camera phone, you would want it to stay protected. I love the 3D games, especially golf, me and my siblings enjoy playing on it together. I thought that the controller stick would be impossible for texting etc but I love using it, its all just so easy! And it is big, but its steady and works just the way I want it to, I was scared because people said that its a giant brick monster, I completely disagree! Its very nice to handle with a nice smooth and sleek case. I can hold 50 songs on it and 120 photos, however my card is only 128mb so I think its a pretty impressive phone. To conclude if you are a browser seeking a trustworthy phone with a good camera get the K800i! And if the size really scared you, why don't you just go into a phone shop and look at it BEFORE you buy it. Thats what I did. Rating:

Reviewed by Jason Davies on 06/01/2008 Before I had this phone I had always used Nokia phones and was a little apprehensive bout changing brands. However this has been an absolute revelation. It`s a lovely, easy to use phone with a qualty camera. The menus & interface are much more user friendly than the Nokia phones I have had. The music players sound quality is superb. it has loads of features to delight gadget freaks like myself. The down sides are the protruding camera lens, the small size music memory and the overly heavy ear phones which attach to the bottom of the phone. This aside I have had his for 18 months now and it is still a delight to use compared to many of my friends newer phones. I am disappointed to hear that Sony Ericsson have made such a hash of the K850i considering they had such a great piece of kit to build on. This not only sucks battery life but means you have to take that extra annoying step of turning the cam off before using the phone. Pretty much all other aspects have been covered in reviews below. Reviewed by Dave H on 27/12/2007 Perhaps unlike many reviewers here, I'm a middle-aged bloke who went out looking for a replacement for his wife's ancient Phillips SAVVY (yes: they're still out there and working!) Fortunately, I consulted my teched-up nephew who showed me his K800i. I could barely believe that so much was packed into such a small bundle. So I bought one. My wife was VERY pleased with it and I grew envious. So I bought one for myself a few days ago. So now we each have a superb camera, excellent phone and an MP3 player all in one compact unit. We've just spent much of the Christmas holidays exploring just what the K800i can do. Bluetooth was a revelation: so easy to send one another photos and music files. And recording your own alert is a gas: my phone now shouts "Get me out of here!" when I get a call. And three fun games. And the ease with which you can add items t photos (eg a crown to someone's head!) and distort the image (after a few drinks you'll be crying with laughter) are great. My wife traded in an old phone at O2 and got a £20 discount off the £79-99 price, paid £10 for airtime - and got a FREE 1Gb memory card (worth about £20). This would have been a great bargain just for the camera: with a phone and MP3 player plus all the bits and pieces it was an amazing deal: we've not stopped smiling! Buy one at O2 while their offer's still on. (And, No, I don't work for the company!) Rating:

Reviewed by Owner of a K800i on 01/12/2007 Upgraded to this after I broke my w810i - whoops - and I must say i was hesitant at first. I wasn't sure whether to get this one (for £89.99) or the new k810i (£169.99). My main concerns for the k800i were - too big/bulky - not as "pretty" - camera lens sliding open on its own but when i went to the shop to buy my phone, I compared the dummys for the k800 and k810, and they were both EXACTLY the same size - apart from the fact that the k800 has a pretruding camera part, but that's neither here nor there. Also, the buttons on the k810i were fine about the size etc, but they were very shallow and i wasn't really comfortable texting with them. So obviously in the end i bought the k800i, and i think i'm glad - the main thing is that i saved £80, plus i think to be honest the k800i has exactly what the k810i has to offer. The camera lens hasn't slid open once yet (obviously I've only had it for a week, but still), and I'm really impressed with the sharp, huuuge screen and great camera. The joystick isn't a problem either, well not yet so far, and now I've got used to it it isn't really THAT big - bigger than my w810i, but aswell as the phone the screen is much bigger which i love. Once again sony ericsson impresses me!! Rating:

The menu system is well organised but it lacks some features like the ability to change the timeout period before it goes into standby. The screensaver feature is a waste of time it only displays the animation for about 10 seconds then goes to clock mode, and there is no option to change this (I turned it off). The joystick lets it down and while it seems ok initially, you will soon be craving a standard 4 button pad. It's just too fiddly and at times unresponsive. The media player is nice but you can only sort songs via Artist, Track Name or Playlist. There is no search by album option so if you listen to a lot of compilations like I do, you can't choose to listen to only one album even if it's in a separate folder on the memory card. Love the big keypad as I have fat thumbs like ET and have to grow my nails like Freddy Krueger to use other phones. So all in all it is good when comparing it to Nokia's 'plastic' phones. However the screen on Nokias are larger on some models, but I have broke the 'unbreakable' nokias in less than 2 weeks as I am damn clumsy and this phone has lasted more than a month now so I am happy. My contract on 3 ended and I had enough of my N70 so I went to CPW and got the K800i on O2. Has to be the best phone I've ever owned, the camera is better then my first digicam. Seen lots of reviews saying the Xenon flash doesn't work well in dark places... I tried it out in a pitch black room and the results were unreal. Even my new Samsung digicam can't take pix that good in the same situation. The phone has a nice simple UI, identical to pretty much all the other SE phones of late. It may not be the smallest phone but I have above average sized fingers and I can text faster on that then I could on my N70. The music player is a very valid alternative to my video iPod so I made sure I got an M2 card seeing that it doesn't come with one but hey who really cares??? Until someone comes out with a better phone the features a better camera with the all important Xenon flash then I think I will be sticking to my K800i of a long time. When I got my phone CPW did say I sould wait till the K810i comes out but what was the point... They are the same phone with the K810i having odd shapped keys and a lower profile camera. The most used feature I use on the phone is the alarm as it is pretty loud. Never used 3g video calling as I am out of the O2 video call area but I never really used it when I was on 3 so it's no big loss for me. Rating:

Reviewed by armani on 30/07/2007 I bought this phone mainly because of the 3.2 megapixel camera. At first everything seemed to be fine and i thought that i had just purchased the perfect phone. After closer inspection i noticed flaws and problems in the camera; when you look back at photos in your gallery the photos appear blured and take a few moments to load up properly. The camera quality is very poor and blury. On top of it all the phone is very bulky, its neither sexy nor slim. ONLY PEOPLE WITH A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF PHONES WOULD RATE THIS PRODUCT HIGHLY. Reviewed by Peter Mato on 29/07/2007 I upgraded from K750i after the death of its camera. I love Sony Erics especially the K series of which i believe it specializes on cameras. However i have learnt that the K800i performs poor in video capturing compared to its predecessor K750i. Formally was not sure of its settings but tries every way and never got what i expected. But in reality, i like the the gadget and cannot think of going to K850i unless the camera dies again. Another think that impresses me much is the joy stick of which i think K850i has merged it to the buttons. The flash is good but again i miss the torch that i used to have in the K750i. With K750i i was able to take pics in a small interval but with K800i i have to wait for it save - takes relatively longer time. Rating:

Reviewed by janet on 29/07/2007 i have a samsung d500 my first and certainly last samsung i'll ever buy as the usability of it is ok but its not great, was slow at times, battery was cra.p and not alot of things you could customise. so buying k800i was fantastic the camera is excellent especially if your in pitch black darkness the flash picks up whatever is there as if it is daylight. why people are saying it is a brick is ridiculous d500 is more like a brick but it has a hollow feel to it because they put in some lightweight plastic in places whereas with se they havent it is well built and i am glad to know that i am holding it as i think it wouldn't break easily and it fits in your hand fine. come on people it isn't that heavy, looking at the new nokia ones they are massive and i assume heavier my brother has one the nokia n73, 5mp camera is very bad and i was shocked at the pic he took with it the sound is no better than se k800i as that is one flaw i have with this phone as it is a tinny sound my other phone is nokia 6288 which has excellent sound on it and it is louder, not that i shall be playing anything at this level. i cant really complain as these new phones come with cables and pc software that didn't come with samsung d500. i have seen some people mention about battery not being good it is supposed to be 7 hours of course it will be slightly less, but it depends what you do with the phone if your using the camera it will use alot battery compared to using the music. i read a review somewhere else saying they played music on it with nobreaks for 6hours and 45 mins. but you also got to rmember that any product you buy there is always going to be a small number that arent made corrrectly, so you may have one of these. any problems with phone should always be reproted to where you bought it from. Reviewed by Matt on 26/07/2007 I have had this phone for about 8 months now, and I wouldnt buy another sony ericsson. Nokia is the way forward. The firmware is terrible, there are quite a few bugs in the phone, which I am told you can update, but thats a pain in the neck. Firstly, when you enter your pin to turn the phone on, you can plainly see the first digit, when you press the next digit the first number turns to an asterisk. Surely thats the first thing the testers should have spotted. Secondly, the joystick is pants. After a few months my joystick was starting to get tempremental. Now i really struggle to operate the phone particularly when wanting to scroll messages or my address book. The programmable alarm is nice, as is the camera. Tbh after buying this phone with a 3.2 megapixel I dont know if I would be that bent on getting hold of the best camera phone. Due to the phone having to be small, there is only a limited optical zoom, after that its digital and the image begins to break up. I suppose thats not really the fault of this phone, rather a generalisation on camera phones. I am waiting for the joystick to break so I can have yet another argument with orange when I try to get it replaced with a nokia instead! :P Rating:

Reviewed by sam on 20/07/2007 This is the best phone I've ever bought! The camera is as good if not better than even the newest top-of-the-range phones, the music player is as good as an iPod and the interface is way easier than Nokia or any other phone I've seen. The screen is very large and clear, videos and MP4s look and sound great too. It has an external memory slot so my recommendation is that you buy a 2gb or 4gb memory card. This means you can take hundreds of pictures at full 3.2mp quality, listen to hundreds of music tracks and store loads of files with space left over. Unfortunately the video is only recorded in VGA quality which looks poor. Battery life is outstanding for a 3G phone and the buttons are surprisingly easy to use. The phone is well proportioned and the lens cover hardly ever comes off! I recommend you buy this phone over any other mid-priced phone on the market so I gave it 5 stars. Rating:
Reviewed by david hamilton on 19/07/2007 It should not get 5 stars with such a poor video function that frankly is not worth using. I will have to carry my nokia 6280 with an excellent vdeo function but at 2mp should not beat the 3.2 mp sony. There should be an industry standard that mandates that th mp shown is for stills only. Further, it should provide a standard for video functions. handsfree functions should also have a standard such as volume of sound. This review is therefore more like an advert. This video problem exists also with the Samsung E900 which at 3mp is poorer than its 2mp predecessor. Rating:
