Reviewed by Paula on 23-02-2005 I have had this phone now on the O2 network for 4 months. It looks FAB - very pretty etc. Problem is I have had it for repair under warrantee now TWICE and its has crashed again for a 3rd time. NOT ACDEPTABLE. Its does not seem to be compatable with O2 - dont know why. Unfortunately despite it looking soooo good it had to go - O2 Kindly offered me and free swap to the Nokia 6230 and this seems to do all the K700i did but this time it works. Sorry K700i let me down badly. One star only and thats only for its awsome looks. Shame had potential - very disappointed ;-( Rating:
Reviewed by Pat on 08-02-2005 I've had the k700i for a few months now and it is simply the best phone i've owned. I used to be a nokia owner, but nokia will have to work very hard indeed to win me back. Comparing the k700i with nokia's latest offerings, what stands out is the overall quality of the sony, from the amazing screen to the audio features, it just does everything that you'd want from a mobile. OK, there are things that could be better, like more memory, but at the beginning of 2005 you can't get better for the price. Rating:
Reviewed by Clive West on 31-01-2005 Had this phone for two weeks now, and all I can say is, outstanding. Its does absolutely everything brilliantly. I had a Panasonic X70 before this, which I loved. Dropped it unfortunately, and couldn't get another. I wanted everything it had plus. It had to be sexy looking too. Having done my reseach it came down to the Motorola V70 and the K700i. I liked them both, but my main hesitation re the Motorola was the very mixed reviews I read re the software in it. As my Panasonic was out of action I borrowed a friend T610. I liked it and I found the software very intuative. I think this is what swung it to the K700i for me. Plus it has a video record feature, and radio & MP3. The sony was free to upgrade, and the V70 was going to cost me #100.00. Job done. I love everything about this phone. The display is excellent, the camera is very good for a phone cam, the MP3 is handy, and the radio has excellent reception. Texters will love it too, the buttons are very positive and have a good feel. The only small issue I have is the battery life. I put mine on charge most nights, and I suggest you get a car charger. I think the main reason people complain about the battery life on this phone, is because you can't put the damned thing down. Its just so nice to use. The only problem I have at the mome is I can't get the sychronisation to work with my PC. Bluetooth works perfectly though. All in all this phone is a gem. Buy it. You won't be disapointed. Reviewed by Paulr on 26-01-2005 It claims 7 hours of talk time - Ive had 3 of them so far and I have yet to exceed 1 hours talktime - it may be good a gimmicks such as video, pics etc but used as a phone to talk to people this phone is useless. Rating:
Reviewed by babyseal on 03-01-2005 Ive had this fone for like a month a now and I absolutely love it!!! when im at work and im waiting for a call to come in, i just sit back and look at my phone! damn but it's really beautiful! it is simply the MOST attractive phone on the whole planet! the first time i saw it at a mall i fell in love with it! and im still so in love with it! SMS and MMS are great.. camera is great (i use 320x240 picture size and its got good resolution and doesnt take much space so i prefer it). dont use video much though, i got a camcorder for that. :-) but it comes in handy for emergency purposes. radio, mp3, midi are all cool. very good loudspeaker and handsfree capabilities. connectivity is good- so far ive only tried infrared and bluetooth, no problems. ive downloaded FREE java games, themes, wallpaper, ringtones online thru wap and gprs(well yeah we do have to pay network charges but it's minimal). very good organiser, calendar, notes, tasks, alarms, all are very functional and very useful. only negative thing i can find is the battery, max i've had is 2 days! but to be fair i use the phone a lot. i just cant stop myself from using it! very very lovely phone! the best phone ever!! Reviewed by Liam on 31-12-2004 Hi, These reviews on the K700I are good and bad i bet people reading these reviews are thinking is this K700I good or bad? shell i buy this phone or not? well what i will say to you is (YES) buy this mobile its not %10 because you will never find a mobile that is %10 but its 9% so thats like the top score for a mobile ok i think you people would really like to know what this mobile can do well ill tell you right now also i will not lie to you i will tell you the truth right hear it is read this to find out about the K700I. ------------------------------------------------- 1. Camera not so clear when pictures has been saved as it goes a little fizzy seen better on older phones but its not %9 it will have to be about %8. 2. Camera video its a good video when you record but like the camera when viewing back its not so good as its goes a little blocky so i will give it %8 like the camera. 3. FM radio %9 for the radio its excellent the sound hear where i live is very clear never goes jumpy or anything its just spot on so it has to get a 9%. 4. Speed of phone people say sony ericson's mobiles are very slow and they freeze but i don't understand because every sony ericson that iv had never freezes they may of been a little slow but the K700I is not slow or never freezes on me so it has to get a %9. 5. Colour is 65k and its very clear in the menus and on picture that has been downloaded from wap or net so it has to be %9 6. Games they are very good games that you can download also the games on the handset is cool 2 so it has to get aa %9 7. Memory the memory on the handset is 41MB and that is a big space for a mobile so that has to get a %9 8. Features theres lots of features on this handset its got everything that you could need on a handset for child's and adults so it gets a %9. 9. Price its not worth the money as every mobile is never worth the price because in UK they are very high on prices but you will pay that sort of price for a handset these days so for the K700I it has to get a %7 like every other high price handset would get as there to dear. 10. Battery people say the battery life on the K700I is bad but i disagree the battery life is not as good as nokias battery life but its got so i will give it %8. 11. Best uk networks to get the handset on virgin, o2, orange (NEVER BUY IT ON VODAFONE) hear is the % for these networks virgin %7 o2 %8 orange %6 vodafone %1 if you have got the cash get the K700I sim free its %9 if you get it sim free also its unlocked to all networks. 12. K700I altogether i will give it %9 that is excellent. ------------------------------------------------- Ok people i hpe iv helped you make your mind up to buy this handset or not but my last words are (Buy it) Rating:

Reviewed by Sami on 16-12-2004 This is the best phone I've ever had, and I get a new phone every year. I didn't like the look of the model down from this last year and the joystick put me off, but I did not like my current Samsung E700 and I thought I'd try the K700i out. The joystick does take a while to get used to and once you have, everything is a doddle. I got frustrated with the joystick going to different places when you go up, down, left and right, but you can select your own shortcuts in the settings menu. Now I have my most used functions at the flick of the joystick! It has a great file manager for all your pictures. You can create folders (just like on Windows Explorer on a PC) and name them to store different pictures in. You will take lots of pictures because the camera is excellent! You can choose picture size and effects, aswell on the video camera! There are a lot of fun animations and screensavers. The radio function is excellent, really clear! Although where I live there are interferences, but not enough to bother me! You can store many different stations, I have 5 stored. You can minimize the radio screen so you can do other stuff whilst listening!! Same thing with the MP3/4 player! Which is also excellent! (I MUST find time to add some more tracks on my phone!) You can use them as your ringtones!! Excellent phone book info storage. Not only can you assign a ringtone to a contact, you can store a picture in their phone book profile so that when the ring or text you, the picture comes on your screen! I love the organizer section, I couldn't live without my calender! or the note pad!! or the phone!!!!! Rating:

Reviewed by Ken Buck on 10-12-2004 I have now been using my Sony Ericsson K700i for 2 months and can happily say that I have not had any issues to date. The interface is simple to use, battery life is good (last between 2-3 days in business use) and camera functions are satisfactory. My only slight grumble is that there seems to be a tiny delay between when you are connected to when the receiving user hears you. So at first I found myself having to announce myself twice! Although I'm not sure if this is a network or product issue! All in all I am very happy with this phone, and I am hoping that because there are no slide or flip open mechanics (which have been on my last 2 phones and have both caused issues) that no problems arise. Defiantly worth having, a good all round phone! Rating:
Reviewed by Nathan D'Alessandri on 17-11-2004 Great phone. Have had it a little while now, and where as i get bored with alot of my phones, i still love this one. In terms of messaging, really straight forward. Just tap the navigation toggle to the left, click select, and off you go! Rating:

I canot put the phone down. Even when I get home I have to hide it from my teenage daughter otherwise I won't get to use it. Now she wants one and the old 3315 has just gone out the window oops a car just ran it over. The things you can do with a 700i are endless. It's a sexy looking phone the games and graphics are excellent, and it has a nice big screen.I have had no prolems with the battery. It took a bit to get use to the toggle but I have mastered it now. It is a perfect size the camera & video are absolutely brilliant the bluetooth is excellent, the radio is brilliant has awesome sound the phone is easy to use and you can have lots of fun with it.(and thats coming from someone in there 40's).I love the darts game on it.Anyone out there thinking of buying one go and do it you will not regret it, its excellent value for the money.Have fun because I know you won't regret buying the K700i & you will enjoy it. Reviewed by Micheal on 09-11-2004 A great phone, best value for money. Has 41MB of memory, more than enough for he average user. Very good display and first phone I've seen that can display moving wallpaper (animations like lights moving around the screen as a background, basically like a screensaver, it looks awesome). 3D Java games are a lot of fun and look impressive. Camera and video very good and although Sony doesn't advertise it, the K700i has a extended picture size option that extends the image to a 1280 x 960 resolution, which technically makes it a 1.3 mega pixel camera, not just a simple VGA camera on all other phones. Battery is very good, one day I took over 300 pictures at 1.3mp resolution and 18 40 second video clips and it still had a little juice left, and many of you know that even standalone digital cameras don't last that long. And although many might complain about the battery life it's because of continuous use, you won't get better. In conclusion, with the camera, video recorder and player, mp3, 3D games, build in FM radio and all he other bells and whistles you'll never get bored with the K700i. Awesome phone. Rating:
Reviewed by Pro_Shopper_2k on 06-11-2004 I am 15 and therefore a younger user of phones. The first phone I got was a Nokia when I was 11 and I used Nokias ever since. My Mom decided to get me a contract just before Halloween 2004 and we got this phone free. I was very happy as it was a camera phone and everyone already had one! Below are a list of positives and negatives about the Sony Ericsson K700i. Overall I would reccomend this phone to the younger side of the generation because of the functions and content. It is a great phone. Good luck choosing your phone x x x Positives: - Great quality screen. - Entertaining games, easy to use. - A good media player which minimizes so the phone can multi-task. - Great effects on camera (balck & white, negative, etc). - Different picture sizes and zoom x4. - Video capture (have not yet testeed how long for, only needed to do up to 40 seconds so far). - Great message storing system. - Easy to use storgae system for songs, videos, pictures, games, etc. - Lots of organizarional functions. - Great phone book layout, add lots of information about contacts. - Bluetooth is compatible with most phones. I have tested Nokia 6310, Motorola V500, Nec616 and computers. - Great signal on radio. Negatives: - You can only open the menu by pressing the joystick down, if you accidently tilt to the side you end up somewere else. - The games are soundless. - If you move to fast when video recording it goes blurry. - Takes time to get used to texting (having come from a Nokia background). - Profiles took me some time to work out. - Hard to dial a number with gloves on (but what phone isn't, hehe). - I sumdge the screen (wipes off easy but it's irritating. No permenant damage left though). Pro_Shopper_2k x x x Rating:

Reviewed by Andy Williams on 23-08-2004 As a former Nokia user, I have not found any problems using this phone, and overall I have found it to be an excellent phone. The plus points definitely outwiegh the negatives. Positives first: excellent colour screen, good camera, easy-to-use menus, video, metallic covers, large 32Mbytes of memory, ringtones. Now the negatives: battery life could be better, screen froze once when I was first trying it out (but never again since then), fiddly buttons. The negatives aren't such a big deal, and I have to say that I like this phone a lot. It makes a change from Nokia. Rating:
Reviewed by Lord Voldemort on 19-08-2004 Had this phone for a week. First impressions good, although I'm finding the battery life a bit short. Seems that using bluetooth puts quite a drain on the battery. The camera takes quite good pictures considering that it's just a phone, and even the video is good. Colour screen is ace and ringtones are funky/ Much better than my mates's T610. Rating:

The K700i is so easy to use and has so many features, that using it is a joy. Camera quality is excellent, so is MP3 and radio.
