Reviewed by Joe on 13/01/2009 Yes I know I might be writing this in 2009 but still................ I used to have this phone, and it was very good for what is was. Very good camera, pretty much all the capabilities that a modern phone has these days.....(e.g nokia E95, Nokia E96, Samsung Soul), very impressive really. But 1 bad thing. The navigator!! For example when you are scrolling down your contact list you end up selecting half the contacts and ringing them before you reach who you want in the list. Now i have the Sony Ericsson T2801, which isn't as good I dont think. No video media at all. Quite simple. But yet capable of doing other stuff i guess. Rating:

Reviewed by Big G on 05/02/2008 My dad got this phone in 2004 and when he upgraded (in 05) i think to a k750 or k800i or something he gave me this one. It has been a great phone. It has a few hundred pictures on it and many funny videos which i have taken over the years and the overall funcionality is great. The battery deteriorates over time though and in early 07 when i was using this phone a lot, it wouldn't last the day if i was taking pictures and videos. This camera was pretty good for a camera on such an old phone and the pictures i took were very clear (as long as the pictures were taken outdoors)and the camcorder capsbility was quite good as well. It wasn't exactly up to the 30fps 640x480 recording of my cybershot but it's quite impressive for such an old phone (i think it is 10fps 120x200 or something). Another one of my gripes with this phone is that there is an MP3 player yet no external memory so you can hardly store anything on there, definitely not a multimedia phone. T-Mobile are r ubbish and they have deactived my sim for not topping it up for a few months and because of the condition of this phone i am going to abandon it and buy a samsung E250 or something like that, there is also no way i am paying the fish-cakes at T-Mobile £10 (which i don't even get to redeem in credit) to reactivate my sim. Also because it is a T-Mobile phone, i can't use any other sims which is a shame. Rating:

Reviewed by honeyfmonsa on 20/07/2007 hi, ive read so many reviews, and sometimes think the writer is either biased or inexperienced to give a proper and meaningful review of a mobile phone. i am in my 20's. i like all the nice shiny-light-up-gadgety-things on the exterior of a phone yet i also like the simple features inside a phone. i rate a phone on its features, practicality, and general effeicincy, so that other people who have some "proper experience" with checking the ins-and-outs of a phone from top-2-bottom can get a simple and genuine overview of what they plan to buy as their new mobile. SONY K700i the phone reminds me of the "mowbli" phone cartoon used for the CARPHONE WAREHOUSE ads. -the joystick gets worn out easily, but ive been using the numberbad instead as a joystick. -the phone does everything perfectly, the phone is almost faultless for a mobile from its year. -the phones been dropped literally 100's of times, sometimes i dropped it on purpose!! it has survived 3 visits to the toilet and still went strong. -the phone has provided me with 3years worth of excellent service, even though i have many upgrades, even the K810i, i still used this phone, until yesterday.... after years of batterring, the phones software has developed a problem, and doesnt charge anymore. this phone is easy and great to use for beginners to sony ericsson phones. ///////////////////////////////////////////////// i have used mobile phones since 1995, i am in business and require 8 mobiles for different purposes. ive used every brand including the siemens, and original Ericsson brick handsets and sony Z & J series. i must say that overall if your lookin for a mobile, then get a SONY ERICSSON! they are abit fiddly to use at 1st but are simple, as with everything, with practise. furthermore i have many friends and relatives who work in the mobile phone industry, either as network staff or mobile phone shop owners...i can safely say that all of them prefer using sony ericssons. *SE phones are jam-packed with latest features, but tend to look and feel abit cheap in some models. *Samsungs just look nice and shiny and are useless for practicality and serious use. *Nokia are for the die-hard fans who think Nokia still make great phones like before, which they dont. N95 is packed with new-gen features, but is slow and not efficient. *MOTOROLA is just for the guys who wanna look cool flipping/sliding open their phone! apart from that their rubbish to use. ive had God knows how many V3 look-a-like motorolas, and was recently offered the new Z8, which i refused without a moments hesitation. *LG is a waste of time and money. ive used and returned the CHOCOLATE, PRADA and U880. Disgrace. 2.Battery life is very low, now i wasnt expecting 3 months stanby time, but when youre doing something important, BANG! battery dead. Oh yeah, and the charging block is very vulnerable, Had to get mine fixed for 20 quid. Disgrace. 3. JOYSTICK IS...BAD! after a month of having your phone, your joystick will basically not work properly, and when you press left, itll be as if you pressed the left softkey! Not just left by the way, everything! Now i cant even use the joystick, cleaning wont help, nothing! Disgarace x3. 4. Last but not least, the bloody annoying "turn-off-at-random-time". What the **** is this? talking to a nice girl, "hey, would y ou maybe like to come on a....!?!?!?!?!?" The phones off? WHYYYY? Even though i know several people who have had problems with there joysticks (k700i/k750i)mine has had no faults at all. The price was decent at the time as well only costing me £100 on Vodafone. Features such as the Mp3 player, radio and been able to change themes and wallpapers was great. However there are downfalls to this phone. One thing that anoyed me was the fact that vodafone had locked the feature that lets you have an mp3 as your ringtone. This ment been stuck with the old standard ones.(had my phone on silent for most of the time because of this.) Then theres not been able to add extra memory. I think theres around 50mb on the phone so only about 10 songs could be put on. The video quality wasn't the best either not mensioning the VGA camera. Not being a mega pixel camera was very disapointing. I also found after about 4 months i was bord of this phone. There was nothing to do. Overall this phone has served me well but i'm looking foward to getting the new k800i or w810i greatly as i am terribly anoyed with lack of memory, picture quality and just purely bord !! 8/10 Rating:

Reviewed by Farnham1 on 08-04-2006 I have had this phone for 4 months having changed from a very old Nokia, so i've gone up a phone generation or 2 but still a couple away from state of the art. Compared to my old steam driven mobile this is great. I paid £80 from Vodaphone and consider it excellent value on that basis.
As a standard phone with low usage I get approx. 4-5 days use and standby on 1 charge.
I use the calendar/appointments feature which is reasonably easy to use and I can set up a reminder in advance of an appointment which works! The contacts section is easy to use - a bit like Outlook on the computer. I
like the way you can scroll between home and mobile numbers etc.
Apparently you can also add addresses etc though I have not done this yet.
Standard texts are easy to input and I have found the text input intuitive with a good dictionary. The camera is pretty poor by current standards but fun if you have not had one before! The screen is good giving good clear text and background. It would have been good to be able to tone down the display light as it gives off as much light as a small torch which is not always wanted in dark conditions.I like the different screen profiles that are available.
The radio was a very useful feature on the phone but you need to be in a good reception area for it to lock on to a signal.Again, it would be nice to have a reduced screen brightness option.
Bluetooth is a must for any new phone these days which this one has. When
the phone is in standby, a clock can be displayed in large text with a backlit option - who needs a watch!
So far I have had absolutely no problems with this phone and it has performed to specification, however, this is not the latest generation
phone - you will need to spend more to get all the latest bells and wistles. Rating:

Got a few minor problems, one being the battery life! The battery only seems to last for a few days (3-4), but there is a nack in making it last a little bit longer. When the battery is in the "red" charge it as usual,
don't worry if it is not quite empty. Do this for about 4 - 5 times, then let the battery run out completely, so that it is 'flat'. Then charge the phone for about 10 hours, and see how is goes, if you do this
occasionally, it increases the battery life, for about 7 charges, then it loses it again! Bluetooth, perfect, although I have problems with my o2
Blue Headset. It connects perfectly once paired with the K700i, but loses connection between the 2 if they are placed at least 1.5m away with no clear obtructions (i.e, in the car, with headset in one ear, and phone in holder on the dash, and loses connection! Headset flashes like hell, till the pair r next to each other, not ideal when driving and talkin, defeats
the whole purpose to be honest! Overall, 4/5, good phone, would neva go back, although the Samsung D600 and the S.E W800i looks swish! Rating:

by this as I could only move it right to get to the option i wanted. The other problem I had was that after I had locked my phone it would somehow unlock itself and would keep sending blank text messages to the first person in my address book. Once I found out that I had sent about 30 blank text messages in one day! Before this had happened my total balance was around £13.00 when I checked after it happened I had only about £8.00!!!!!!!!!! Also the battery power is very poor an only lasts for about a day and that's it! I also felt that whenever I was using the
camera and taking photos it would only capture the photo 2 seconds after the photo I wanted. Reviewed by Pete on 31-01-2006 I have had this phone for about 18 months now and i am still very pleased with it. It has everything a phone should have and a decent camera. However the battery power is very poor, lasting maybe a day or so. That said i have found some ways that would make the battery stretch for far longer (the longest i got was a week and 2 days).
The tips are:
ALWAYS LOCK YOUR KEYS WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING YOUR PHONE this is really important as the screen light is what mainly takes the battery. Plus you will still revieve calls and texts even if it is locked.
When your phone is NOT going to be in use turn it off!
You might think that if you put the phone into powersave mode it saves battery - nope best to not do that as it actually doesn't make any differnce at all... probably even makes the battery go faster.
ALWAYS (cannot be stressed enough) turn OFF any applications or internet
browsers when you have finished. This includes menues aswell.
If you want to put a load of flashy customized backgrounds and screensavers, make sure they don't move. This also helps the battery.
One more problem with the phone is that the design is quite poor at time for example the back of the phone near the battery always comes off.. i
MEAN always. I have had to tape mine back a few too many times.
Apart from those things, it's a very good phone if not the best of it's class. Rating:

Reviewed by Anna on 16-01-2006 On this model Sony Ericsson has clearly tried to cater for everyone, and
pretty much succeeded.
It has ample functions, but the only problem is- because they have crammed
so much into this phone the functions overall are of slightly less
quality. But if you a willing to sacrifice quality for quantity then this
is the phone for you.
This model was brought out about a year ago now, so it’s getting on
a bit.
Capture aspects - The camera quality is quite poor compared to what is out
now. I took this phone on holiday and used instead of a digi. it has a
night mode which is not very effective, so I don’t use it at all,
but it features a light (which can also be used as a handy torch, although
hard to turn on in a hurry as you have to be in capture mode) which makes
decent night pictures - preferably portraits or close ups. I have 120
pictures on the phone atm, and it can hold about 600 more. So plenty of
space but only because the pictures are so tiny and very low resolution.
The video recorder is amateur, and blurs at the first sign of movement,
but after using this for a while you learn to avoid that a little somehow
and video capture isn’t too bad. It has a zoom function which is
quite good and easy to toggle whilst recording.
Out of ten I would give these features about a 6.5 only because of the
extreme advance in the past year on camera quality.
Making phone calls - this phone has quite a good speakerphone function,
but can only be turned on once call is connected. It has speed dial
options which are not too bad. It is really easy to see previous calls,
all sorted into missed, dialled, answered. This is possible the most
useful function in this category.
Phone book - you can easily separate numbers stored on phone and sim or
combine the two. You can also hold various numbers under one contact with
different symbols displayed for either mobile, work or home, which are
visible when phoning or answering. You can also attach pictures to
contacts to easily see whose calling.
Texting - texting on this phone is one of the best. I have always thought
nokia's to be the easiest to text on as well. It has predictive and tap
mode. And tells you when you run over the text capacity into a second
text. There is multiple receivers function if you want to send to many
people in your address book. It features a sent box, inbox, drafts box,
outbox. It also has a SMS meter which you can clear whenever you want to
monitor the number of texts you are sending.
Mp3 and music - it has an fm radio and mp3 player with about 32mb of
internal memory. Unfortunately it’s not expandable. A handy aspect
is the ability to minimize the mp3 or radio player and use other functions
whilst listening. One of the downsides its there’s no headphones
input. You have to listen through the headset provided, which contains a built in antenna. Which you can’t listen to the radio without. You can preset up to 10 stations and search for stations or turn this off and
manually tune them Mp3s can be deleted from the phone.
Connectivity - it has Bluetooth and infrared, the infrared is not very
easy to use. But the Bluetooth is fine. There is also the ability to
connect to a computer via USB - although I didn’t get one of these
cables (with orange)
Organisational features - it has a calendar with a reminder function. The
only downside is you cannot enter events that you don’t want a
reminder for, because it always prompts for a date and time etc. it has a
to-do list which you can edit and check off or leave for later. And a
notes section - which I find useful for writing down CD or book titles
when I’m shopping. The calculator is good with easy percentage
calculations - great for working out discounts in the sales. It has a
timer and stopwatch. There’s a handy alarm function where you can
set any mp3 or music file to play at the set time or you can simply set it
to vibrate. You can have preset alarms or change it to whenever. There is
a function called code memo which is incredibly handy for and pins or pass
codes that you might forget, such as chip and pin, seeing as we all has so
many and forget them easily.
Wap - never used it much. But seems to be of average standard. Windows
load pretty fast with easy scrolling. And quick exit out of connection.
Calls retrieve function to answer whilst browsing.
Battery life - mp3's and games drain the battery quickly. So avoid using
if you don’t have access to a charger that same day. Radio hardly
uses any thing. After a year I find I’m charging my phone every 3
days. And I take it everywhere with me and use for many things.
Durability - this is a very durable phone, I am incredibly clumsy and have
dropped it several times normally from quite a height. The screen has
remained unscratched.
Other - there is handy volume buttons on the side which whilst in a call
will alter the call volume. Whilst listening to music will alter the music
volume and so on. And when not using a function will alter the phone
volume - being the ringing volume and text alert volume. There is an
orange world access button to serf wap in one click. And a capture button
which takes you straight to the camera or video recorder.
The display can be changed in various ways, the time and date format can
be changed to 24 hr or 12hr. and it has various themes which change the
colour of menu’s and buttons etc, which are downloadable.
The input section to feed headphones and charger etc is covered by a
rubber flap which now after a year doesn’t seem to fit snug anymore.
This phone is great for overall usage. Especially calling and texting if
you are not great with highly complicated functions. Great for a student.
Overall I would give this phone a 7.5/10 if considering its age within the
market. Rating:

Reviewed by Asger Ellekrog on 04-01-2006 My rating is based on a years use of the phone.
Pos.: Small, stylish. Nice clear screen, a little small though, but it works well.
Fairly well-working menusystem. I used to have a Nokia, so it took a little time to get used to. Good sound-quality. Lot of more og less usable features - mp3-player, radio etc. etc. The photo-lamp is handy - not for photos, but as a small torchlight..!
Neg.: Poor battery-time, and add to that: a LOUSY charger-connector! When
I plug the cable to the phone, I'm never really sure, if it starts
charging. Most of the reason must be due to the flimsy piece of plastic, that is supposed to cover the interface, on the bottom of the phone. Lots of dust gets in there, ruining the small kopper-connectors. Hopefully SE changed that on the 750i..!
On 2-3 occations the phone has just turned of, out of the blue, while I was talking.
The screencover is made of a (too) soft plastic-material, that easily gets scratched.
The camera is a gimmick that I rarely use. The pictures are way too lousy, to use for anything but screensavers on the phone.
The loudspeaker you put to your ear (the phone has got anotheer 'louder'-speaker, for radio, ring-tones etc., placed on the back), is
sitting behind a sharp and pretty uncomfortable edge, that will make your
ear hurt, after a few minutes of use.
So far so good. The K700i has a lot of features that I rarely use, but the basics - including SMS-writing - work OK. There is, as I've mentioned, a
few but pretty annoying drawbacks however.
I think that I'll go for a Nokia next time... Rating:

Reviewed by Nabil on 29-11-2005 have had this phone since last Thursday, and I can assure anyone thinking of buying it that it iis BRILLIANT. Sure, it doesn't have the battery life of a high end Nokia, but then again, it isn't hard to charge it every few nights. Also, some people have comlained about dodgy firmware, which is only upgradable by some from of usb-pc link, but the newer ones should be OK anyway. But if you can get over the admittedly poor battery life, this phone is truly stunning. Reading specifaction list simply isn't enough, you have to experience its ease of use. This thing is constantly sucking up to you and trying to make things faster. It has an exellent interface, allowing for fast and simple setup of bluetooth connections to other phones and computers. The phone near enough guided me through the process, rather than me trawling through manuals figuring it out (like I did with my old Motorola). On top of this, it serves as one of the best multimedia phoones money can buy. The phone utilizes an exellent Java 2 engine, with special tech which allows for great 3d games. It also features a stunning screen, showing every detail in crisp, sharp colours. The onboard memory is very impressive, for storing games, ringtones etc. As an MP3 player, however, it is a little underwhelming. Still, you can put the odd low quality MP3 on for use as a ringtone, which will sound mind blowing due to the phones brilliant loudspeaker. Not forgetting the video capture and sound recording abilities, this is one of, if not THE best phone money can buy. And at #89.99 Pay & Go from O2, it doesn't burn a hole in your pocket either. Buy this phone now, I promise you won't regret it. Rating:

The battery life is really really poor, and if it's true about what someone else has written here about formatting the battery, then why don't they tell you that in the book?!! I, and dozens of people I have met with this fone, have had the same problem. My battery rarely lasts 8 hours on a night's charge, making it extremely unreliable, which is not what you want when you need people to be able to contact you. I also have problems with the fone freezing, and the memory isn't up to the same standard as other fone's classed in the same league. My advice to anyone thinking about buying this fone, is to not be fooled by it's enticing appearance and features, as it really isn't worth having. I'm just about to purchase a nokia and will be happily throwing this rubbish away. please just don't buy it! Rating:

Reviewed by Sarz on 14-11-2005 I loved this phone for ages before I actually got one. It looks proper stunning as why I bought it for that shallow reason haha im a woman what can i say?!! haha. This was definetly an improvement on the t610 - camera was better but was abit grainy in the dark even when using the camera light (which was useful for finding things in the dark!!!). Nice menus and themes and sound, great keys for texting with and my phone did get wet a few times and was fine. Though after only 8 months of using the joystick controller has packed up on me and wont allow me to scroll downwards or sideways so i kept ending up calling people I didnt want to whilst trying to access the phone menus-this hasnt just happened to me i have read on a few other reviews that this happened to people. The cover over the charging slot is a good idea but difficult to open unless you have super long sharp nails and sometimes the battery charger doesnt always register once plugged in. Apart from this I loved this phone and now its broken I am sending it back for a refund and have ordered the new sony ericsson k750i which I hope will be good!!! though it was a hard choice as to go with the k700i again orthe k750i!!! Reviewed by sophie on 25-10-2005 hi, i wos extremely excited about getting this phone, i loved it and i still do, even thou it wos stolen. however, i would point out a few things about it which i realised after the novelty wore off
1 - the joy stick looks cool but sometimes it can be very frustrating to use. it is easy knocked and will start loading up something totally unwanted when u are in the middle of something.
2 - the camera quality is brilliant, but the video quality is fairly poor. when i brought the phone i ignored bad reviews about the video quality cos i thought i would hardly eva use it- but by the end i wos using it more often than the camera to film stupid things - its alot more fun. also the soom on the camera is hard to work out.
3 - the battery life is very annoying. one minute my phone wud have a full green bar and the next it wud b on a warning red. the battery just goes in a day, and i turned it off at nite! pluis, the battery hole cover it very tricky to use if u havent got sharp nails to pull it out, and in the first week i nearly ripped it off cos it was so hard!
4 - the mp3 and radio are hard to use and understand and i didnt even get them 6 months later
if you want to get the phone get it! it is really nice, just not the most reliable one out there. it looks lush but is really hard after a while of txting and the keys are very close together.
one thing i did notice was that my phone wos rapidly slowing down and taking ages to load up stuff, it wos stolen before it got any worse, but wotch out, deleting other stuff to make mre room doesnt work! i have been offerd the same phone again as a replacement for mine, but im getting a new one - everyone has got this phone now, i think it has lost its WOW factor that i loved.
hope this load is of use - PLEASE dont ignore my comments if ur really serious about it cos thats wot i did, and it isnt that amazing once you have had it a while - very boyish! Rating:

Reviewed by Daniel, Leeds on 13-09-2005 I have had this phone since last Thursday, and I can assure anyone thinking of buying it that it iis BRILLIANT. Rating:

The only down side is the battery life is rubbish, it lasts 2 days if ur lucky and thats with no useage, if u text alot or ring alot the battery only lasts a day which is a pain. Reviewed by Cormac on 06-09-2005 Piece of badly designed JUNK Just swapped my k700i for a very basic nokia fone. Much happier as the last 6 months this phone has been rubbish. Only thing it has is its looks good and promises alot (did my research beforehand and thought it looked great on paper) Problems: Battery must be charged everynight even with minimal basic use/ without using bluetooth/ cameras/radio. Phone software: Painfully slow, drags and stalls when going thru phonebook names. Stops for about 2 seconds then jumps down about 10 entries. Text messaging is a pain; doesnt keep up, so you cant see what u are writing- gave up using it for texting in the end. 40 mb memory: You dont get the full memory, its more like 35 mb, as the ringtones/pics etc take up space. Also very difficult to get anything on/off phone. You will need Digital rights management for any songs you do eventually get on to the phone. Messages: Messages disappear after you have saved them as drafts. When you re-edit them there is no option to resave and if you back up they sometimes vanish. Photo quality is very grainy. No zoom-in on saved photos. Make sure you have plenty of time, if you want to scroll thru your camera pictures. Folder will show 4 on each page and takes about a minute to load next page. Buttons: The tempermental buttons had to be pressed 2 or 3 times on the phone before they worked. Try not to use the control stick for shortcuts, as it brings you UP instead of LEFT and so on. In short a nightmare but not as annoying as the slow texting/phonebook drag. All in all, the phone's navigation is not intuitive and it doesnt get any easier even after 6 months. You can spend ages looking for something like "Delete all messages" to find it isnt even an option on the phone. Feels like its designed by an 8 year old. Take my advice- dont get this phone, as you'll regret it. I did. Rating:

Reviewed by Miry on 29-08-2005 What can i say...This phone is briliant! Even though this isn't a new phone anymore, it is still better than most new phones coming on the market. Not all phones still have the same quality of camera, an mp3 player, and the ability to record videos and send them. Also its got such a cool look to it, i still get comments now about how nice it is, even though its a reli popular phone now! The screen is really nice, crystal clear and big, like half the size of the phone! And the phone is nice and small. The typing wasn't hard to get used to, and the only time i ever find it a problem is when im drunk! The video and camera can zoom in up to 4xbigger (the camera can do this when you put it onto a smaller picture size). When you put the photos onto the computer (i do it via a laptop that has infra-red) the photos come out a good size and clear as if from an expensive digital camera. The mp3's can be put on via infra-red or bluetooth aswell, coz otherwise you have to buy a special sony ericsson lead for the computer which they charge a lot for. They do take up a lot of the memory. The songs sound really good quality and sterio. I just put a few songs on, and use the rest of the memory for photos and videos. If you want to listen and store lots of songs then buy an mp3 player - this is just meant to be a phone! The phone has a reli cool feature, when listening to music on the headphones you can say a special word that you have pre-recorded, then the phone recognises it and beeps, you then say the name of a person you want to phone (which you will have also pre-recorded). It then phones that person, you don't even have to touch the phone or the headset, how cool is that! The radio is also a good extra feature, and usually has good signal. This phone has so many cool features, i've had it for 2 months now and im still discovering them. I reli recommend it, especially as it is now so cheap (you can get it for around #80/90). It is definately worth more than the price. It would still be #200 if it were by samsung. Rating:

It's a great phone, the photos and video stun everyone Ive shown; and such a lightweight little phone and yet has so many features. I would have liked a USB cable with it but with bluetooth and infra-red included cant really complain - my laptop has infra-red built in. There is a quasi-flash function with the camera to enhance the light available, which is also useful as a torch at night for finding your keys etc! Overall, excellent value for #89.99 on Orange pay as you go which includes a free bluetooth headset. I've had it unlocked as calls and texts are cheaper on Virgin, who don't sell it anymore. I thought about using Orange but they're call costs just aren't competitive, and texts are a rip-off at 12p. Virgin's are 3p to other Virgin phones or 10p to other phones; also 15p for the first 3 mins of call, whereas Orange charge 25p. If you get it unlocked, call Virgin customer services and they will send you all the settings you need. There is a significant update to this phone, the K750i with a higher quality camera and expandable memory, it costs over #200 at the moment and to be honest the camera on this phone is pretty stunning as it is. I don't use my phone that much for talking/playing mp3's/games, but for synchronizing with my PC. I do this using bluetooth and that use a lot of the battery. Everything else is goooooood! The pics are kewl, the ring tones nice and loud etc I have had absolutely no problems except.. 1) if you don't keep it in a case the silver paint gets scratched really easily 2) there are no "birthdays" or "recurring tasks" options in the calender argh! 3) if you accidently select the wrong the recipient after typing an sms, you can't remove the recipient, which leads to you having to delete the sms and then retype the whole thing over again, SO annoying! i have also had problems sms'ing my sister in the UK, the sms only goes thru when i hit "reply" to the sms, not if i send it through straight. this could be my crappy network operator though (cellc, avoid!), although they deny it's them. all in all it's a good phone - i would get a samsung D500 though if a had another choice though, a collegue got one the other day (they werent around when i got the K700i) and it is definitely better. In a nutshell, this phone is everything a modern phone should have and more. I can't think of a feature this phone does not include(except video calling!). Now, before I purchased this phone I was very much a 'Nokia person'; didn't believe there was a phone on the market that was better than a Nokia. I was seriously wrong! If you are a 'Nokia person', don't let the fact that this phone is a Sony Ericsson stop you from missing out. In fact, the phone being a Sony should persuade you even more to purchase it! I mean come on! It's Sony! What more can I say? You are not going to find a much better phone camera than this one. Sony are, after all, one of the top three camera manufacturer's in the world!! You really will not be disappointed AT ALL!! Well, maybe slightly. The battery life on this phone isn't the best the world has ever seen but I do not see this as a reason to deprive this phone of a star; there are far to may plus points to this phone. Why are you sitting here waiting you're time reading this review? Go out(but not to a Vodafone shop as Vodafone have disabled the feature to set MP3 files as tones, the one-click camera feature (as you may already know you can turn the camera on its side and use a button on the side of the phone especially for taking pictures; like a real camera!)and have made the options menu look cheap and old by using 4 colour icons) and get one NOW!!! Dropped it unfortunately, and couldn't get another. I wanted everything it had plus. It had to be sexy looking too. Having done my reseach it came down to the Motorola V70 and the K700i. I liked them both, but my main hesitation re the Motorola was the very mixed reviews I read re the software in it. As my Panasonic was out of action I borrowed a friend T610. I liked it and I found the software very intuative. I think this is what swung it to the K700i for me. Plus it has a video record feature, and radio & MP3. The sony was free to upgrade, and the V70 was going to cost me #100.00. Job done. I love everything about this phone. The display is excellent, the camera is very good for a phone cam, the MP3 is handy, and the radio has excellent reception. Texters will love it too, the buttons are very positive and have a good feel. The only small issue I have is the battery life. I put mine on charge most nights, and I suggest you get a car charger. I think the main reason people complain about the battery life on this phone, is because you can't put the damned thing down. Its just so nice to use. The only problem I have at the mome is I can't get the sychronisation to work with my PC. Bluetooth works perfectly though. All in all this phone is a gem. Buy it. You won't be disapointed. The joystick does take a while to get used to and once you have, everything is a doddle. I got frustrated with the joystick going to different places when you go up, down, left and right, but you can select your own shortcuts in the settings menu. Now I have my most used functions at the flick of the joystick! It has a great file manager for all your pictures. You can create folders (just like on Windows Explorer on a PC) and name them to store different pictures in. You will take lots of pictures because the camera is excellent! You can choose picture size and effects, aswell on the video camera! There are a lot of fun animations and screensavers. The radio function is excellent, really clear! Although where I live there are interferences, but not enough to bother me! You can store many different stations, I have 5 stored. You can minimize the radio screen so you can do other stuff whilst listening!! Same thing with the MP3/4 player! Which is also excellent! (I MUST find time to add some more tracks on my phone!) You can use them as your ringtones!! Excellent phone book info storage. Not only can you assign a ringtone to a contact, you can store a picture in their phone book profile so that when the ring or text you, the picture comes on your screen! Very good display and first phone I've seen that can display moving wallpaper (animations like lights moving around the screen as a background, basically like a screensaver, it looks awesome). 3D Java games are a lot of fun and look impressive. Camera and video very good and although Sony doesn't advertise it, the K700i has a extended picture size option that extends the image to a 1280 x 960 resolution, which technically makes it a 1.3 mega pixel camera, not just a simple VGA camera on all other phones. Battery is very good, one day I took over 300 pictures at 1.3mp resolution and 18 40 second video clips and it still had a little juice left, and many of you know that even standalone digital cameras don't last that long. And although many might complain about the battery life it's because of continuous use, you won't get better. In conclusion, with the camera, video recorder and player, mp3, 3D games, build in FM radio and all he other bells and whistles you'll never get bored with the K700i. Awesome phone. Rating:

Colour screen is ace and ringtones are funky/ Much better than my mates's T610. Rating:
Reviewed by Andrew on 16-08-2004 I've owned this phone for 3 weeks and it's stunning. I've owned many mobiles in the past, mostly Nokias, and I can tell you that Nokia will have to work hard to win me back to them. The K700i is so easy to use and has so many features, that using it is a joy. Camera quality is excellent, so is MP3 and radio. Ringtones are amazingly high quality, screen is sharp and colours are smooth and well defined. There are so many things I could just go on and on. I am recommending this phone to all my friends.
