i got this phone and within 14 to 16 months id say... the select button came off. so im now debaiting wether to buy a new phone (a different phone though)or just get a new phone coverish thingy! ps the is NO WAY that that select button is goin back on cus 1. i lost it! 2. it wont stick! but in fairness it is an ok phone for the price but i wouldnt buy another in a hurry...

It is really a very good phone in its range. I bought this phone after a thorough research on the internet. I found it best in its class and price range. Good Camera, Bletooth, GPRS and EDGE, java application, Infra red as well. I would highly recommend this phone over any of nokia phone in the same price range. You will find it having more features, verstality and at less price. I really enjoyed this phone for last 10 months now. Go for it ....

I like my SE 550i, because the phone is smart looking, compatabile, and the camera is SUPERB.. the picture clarity, and sound clarity is outstanding..net surfing is good. all the way I LOVE MY mob.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. it may look sleek and good for what you pay for but it will cause you so many problems. ive had to send my phone off about 4 times and its been replaced but it still keeps freezing constantly. the buttons freeze and the camera keeps turning off!

The K550i SONYERICSSON is the best phone i've ever had in my life. To start with, its shape,weight,colour..yaaaaa, this fone is amazingly splendid! IT has a very unique sound produced, pictures and the FM radio itself is un spokable. You can even update it with the latest version available on the internet. l only wish it had very big buily in Memory. Lets communicate using Sonyericsson K550i..hahaha its my mobile line...+260979423700. Ilove sonyericsson.

I've had this phone for a couple of months now and so far it's been good! i havent really had any problems that i can think of and im getting used to all the features on it. there's two bad things about it. first the battery life for me. when i listen to music for a while or scroll through pictures at a fast rate it tends to drain the battery and ill end up half a bar or three quarters of battery left. but then that is what mp3/mp4's are used for!! secondly, the keys are a bit fiddly and it can get slightly annoying sometimes when trying to text but every phone will have that one bad feature! Overall great phone...highly recommended!

Given up trying to use the keys on this phone now, dropped it once and it doesn't work anymore now anyway. Been using it about a year. Very delicate and plasticky. But using those tiny tiny keys for texting is the worst thing for me!

a truly excellent phone :) i had this as my last phone and it has been the most long lasting phone i have ever had! the battery life was brilliant and the memory is outstanding and it has a good quality camera and a proper music player. 4 STARS!

Really really liked the phone when i bought it last year. Everything's good about it! But then it went white and turned itself off and i had to keep on turning it on until eventually it wouldnt turn on again! Returned it for repair, when i got it back it worked well for a month and the same thing happened. Returned it for a third time and got it back and it lasted around a month again before i had to return it. Just got it back a few weeks ago and it's done the same thing!! Not happy, customer service said they'd replace the phone. I'd love to get this phone as it really is excellent and great value for money, but the constant breaking is doing my head in!

i had this phone for over a year. sadly i broke the screen and had to get a new 1, the w910i. it is useless compared to the k550i. i never had any problems with the k550i. i experience problems almost every day with the w910i. if these probems occur much longer i am going to get a new k550i. amazing mobile. cannot find a fault in it. OUTSTANDING!

I agree with the above review as I have now had my K550i for some time, a 'magic' little machine that exceeds what it says on the box !! My only reservation is, as per the author, the key pad. For me this is its only downfall. Would have received a 5 star + rating but for this from myself. But there again I've yet to find the 'perfect' mobile, is there one out there somewhere!!!

I have had this phone for about a year, and i do love it. The only bad thing i could say is the internet shortcut on the left hand side, it presses so easy, and then if i don't notice it is on, then i am using up my credit unknowingly. Apart from that, its a good phone for a low budget. xx

This phone represents excellent value for money. It's neat and small and fits into your handbag or pocket easily. The keys take some getting used to though as they're so small. Im a fast texter but these buttons slow me right down. You do get used to them though. No joystick to worry about which is a bonus. To be honest this phone represented a bit of a stopgap for me while I located a new K800i. It's not really a 'keeper' more of a spare phone. LED flash instead of a xenon and only 2mp camera. Still, for the money I would recommend it.

I like this phone...brill camera and i love the light...very useful when looking for items lost under bunkbeds in ullswater :S .....I have dropped this phone LOADS of times and it hasnt stopped working so its defo a robus little thing. Its really easy to use as all Ericssons are. Love it really.....only one problem...the key lock sometimes plays up meaning the very sencitive internet button gets knocks and i find my self low on credit due to me not knowing that the internet has been on for the past 4 hrs....apart from that its brill :D

The phone is quiet good to use. But the only thing is, sometimes I'm getting a blank white display when i switch off n turn it on.. And its a big prob to go inside to access.

Excellent value for money. Good music player and reasonable camera for 2 mp with LED light. The key pad would certainly not suit the fat fingered fraternity as my fingers are small and I can just about manage. The speaker is quite quiet, so it is easy to miss a call or text when there is a lot of background noise. You definitely need a memory card, but most phones do. All in all, despite these faults it is an excellent little phone that fits in your pocket easily. Recommended.

I have had this phone for over a year now and it has been fanstastic. I got it for �60 and had to top up by �20 at the carphone warehouse. I'd never had a phone like this before and was really excited to get it. The camera is quite good and it has flash which is a bonus. The settings you can change are great. Some of the keys tend to stick but I don't notice because I am used to the phone, although texting takes longer because some of the keys don't work sometimes. The only thing I do not like about this phone is that I'm bored of it , but maybe that's because I've had it for over a year. I would'nt recommend buying this phone now , not because it is'nt good, because it is, it's just that the phone doesn't really have any of the exciting features that other phones have today . But other thank that everything has been fine, I've never had to take it back to the shop, and as a 14 year old girl, the phone has been excellent, however, I'm now moving on to get the LG coo kie because I am starting to get really bored of this phone.

This is a great phone. K550i- The only thing is the keys are a problem. The phone has been in three times. It is great for 3-4 months and again the keys start giving trouble. I think some of us got the duds.

I've had this phone for just over a year now and it has been great. It has been dropped about 20 times (mainly by my clumpsy friends) and it is very resilient so it can't break easily. The camera quality is good. The phone itself looks cool. The sound quality when the headphones are in are better than my iPod nano's quality, so it can replace your iPod aswell. The battery life is good even when I take hundreds of pics and listen to music it doesn't drain the battery as much as other phones. The only 2 thing I dont't like about this phone are the buttons, even after a year of having it I still havn't got used to its tiny buttons and I still text very slow. Also the loudspeaker while on a phone call or when playing music is somewhat below average quality, very fuzzy. For the phone itself I would give 4 stars, but then again no phone is perfect and this is as close to perfection you can get with its low price! Excellent value for money so 5 stars.

D phone has some serious software prob.D camera is good but not at night.trust me u will not trust dat it is a 2 mp photo if u use d camera at night.D speaker sound is pooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrr.D phone has hanging prob also.In 1 word Don't even think 2 buy dis phone.

The most amazing phone ever! I absoltely love this phone! I've had it for just over a year now and not once has it dissapointed me. The camera could be better, but everything else is amazing! I've got the plum colour and even though I want to buy a new phone, I actually can't bring myself to let go of it. Amazing phone! :D

I'm from India and jus bought this phone recently. The claims made by this review are true indeed. It's a good phone with good camera, music and internet facilities. I was using Nokia earlier and found that the k550i is more prone to scratches than Nokia, for a rough user like me. But if the phone is handled smoothly, then its really a great deal.

Had this phone since August 2007 and I can honestly say I have no regrets buying it. Never had any problems with the buttons. The cameras good for a 2mp. It's an all round good phone. Easy to use. I recommend buying this phone it's great value for money.

this phone is great :) i have had it for 11 months and it hasnt gone wrong or broken once. the camera is really good on it, and it has a flash, which helps if you are taking pictures where the lighting is poor. love the colour, mine is ruby pink, and it has a blue glow on the keys, which is good too. there is a lot of memory space on just the phone alone, and the phone supports a 2gb m2 memory card. really good music player and fm radio (dont use that much tho). has a lot of good features on it, theres the facewarp, but that got wiped off of my phone, when i reset the system settings. the internet is ok, but barely use that as it costs too much. great price when i got it �69 which was really good, considering how good the phone is. just for all of the people below, that say how bad the phone is :shame on you. this is a great little phone and im not getting another mobile for ages. would deffinetley recomend this phone or any sony ericsson phone. =)

seriously this phone is awful. i have had it for 12 months now. there isnt much paint left on any of the keys including the d-pad. the camera is awful compared to many other 2 megapixel cameras i mean my old samsung d600e had a better screen and camera. the screen resoloution on this phone is really bad to, you can actualy see the pixels if you have a bad theme set. i love sony ericsson phones but this one is pure awful. :( i recomend the w910i its a far better phone and it has the same camera but with walkman feature.

i got this phone bout yr ago. it is great! got all the features, good camera, flash, radio, memory slot, good sound, picture editor. the internet takes a bit to load and the camera pictures in the dark aren't great but if you want a simple phone. get this! i was gonna get the apple iphone but im gona keep this and get the ipod touch coz it really good!

My friend has this phone,I badly wanted it, really! But I had to get a k750i insted as i needed infered (witch i had been told this phone didnt have) and it was out of my price-range (but now it is in >:( ) Then my friend got it. She has it in the purpley coulour and i admit it is very nice indeed, The screen is great, and its slim, but not cheap feeling, But, the volume buttons are akward, you realy need nails just to make them work they are so far in the phone! Also after just a week it was switching itself off and being a pain. Although she still has it, it is doing her head in. I'm glad i went for the K750i, although it isnt very nice to look at, and it it a brick, it does its job, what more can you ask? Im only giving this phone 3 stars

The K550i is a good-looking and good performing phone. My K550i lasted for about 10 months before I was told to buy a new phone because it would cost too much to repair the LED ribbon. At first, the phone had some glitches - it turned on and off on its own. But for the majority of the time, it was a good performing phone with a good camera. I thought the speakers on mine were a bit quite compared to other Walkman phone but this is after all, a cyber-shot.

I thought the samsung D600 was the greatest ever until I got this thing. Believe me, for the money the best value bar NONE. At 18 months old it ain't new, but it simply delivers in EVERY area. I'm getting another to store away. Even has a TORCH/LIGHT on it. Brilliant.

Had my Sony Ericsson K550i for about a year now, never had any problems with it. Its a good phone. Every now and then it freezes, the camera is okay. Mine hols alot of songs as it had a memory card. Also alot of photo's. I Would recommend this phone for someone who wants an easy to use phone. In general, its a good phone

I have K550,i'm very satisfied about the camera while using it at outdoor.But, the problem is when the camera use in dark room,the result of photos was very bad even i have use the flash light. Do someone have the solution for it? Thx

This phone is actually the best I've ever had. =] Everything on it is great to be honest. The music player is loud and clear, the alarm clock manages to get me up most mornings, the text messaging font is clear and easy to read. Brilliant on O2 because O2 is the best. I've got the plum colour one which is only available from the carphone warehouse. =] My dad thought it was so good, he brought one for my mum too! It holds lots of songs and messages which was a problem with old phones and is easy to put files onto. =] Also, the camera is amazing. it has a flash & you can zoom in once you've taken the picture. They are very clear too. The only problem i found is that the buttons are really really small! When i text, i have to use my nails and because of the shape and size of them, they make a big dent in my thumb nails which cause them to break! lol!

It was a tough choice shifting from a Nokia mid range phone and I spent a month researching and finally zeroed in on this one. Its been 4 months and its an amazing phone, with features that can take on more higher priced ones and looks that are smart and polished. Camera is decent, music player is of good quality, headphones are cool too. A great phone

hi frnds, i have owned a k550i for quite a long time now. really this phone is built flawlessy, keys are a bit slim & tiny though but well spaced. it really looks sexy & attaractve. now coming to performance side ... i compared it with my n72 & it simply outperformed nokia in outdoor shots, the truly boasts of being a cybershot, outdoor shots quality will cause ur jaw to drop down. but nokia manager to beat it in indoor shots comprehensively. also video recording makes on standard, nokia simply beats it in case of video recording way ahead. hands off to nokia. but k550i is perfect for imaging & offers u edge, bluetooth, fm,mp3 player, video player ....it performs extremely well in image shootouts leaving others panting...

I've had this phone for a year now and i'm just about to get a new one, going on to contract. I absolutey love this phone, its been really reliable for me. The only problem i did experience to begin with was the keys sticking but i soon realised this happens when you lean on the side camera button. I have really got used to it, none of my friends can text with it though. I'm gutted to be giving it up but i feel its time to move on haha. I so recommend this phone to everyone, its great!

Dear Friends, I purchased K550i four months back. First two-three months it was working good, but call drops started after that following the problem in which i was unable to receive call (cell gets hanged).. After that it was continuously showing Insert SIM problem. I took it to Service center and had been told to come after 8 days (as the problem was with hardware). After 45 days also I am unable to trace my Handset. and no one is giving correct info about that.

I have this phone and it is a great phone the keypad might not be the greatest for persons who can see well but it is great for the ones like myself who cannot see to good once you know the numbers the raised strips on the keypad helps you to know what you are dialing I recomend this phone for me it is great I have had other phone before but I love this phone it has everything.

I agree this is a good phone but it has crashed on me several time for no reason when i be using the camera. This has caused me many problems and i had spent a lot of money on it. a good phone which crashes a lot of times and now has permanently crashed with me and hasn0t worked for over 2 days. What is the point of buying a phone when iot crashes on you.

good points --its a lovely phone and i havent experienced any problems with keys on it i have had no problems its perfect!!! its simple but has alot of really cool features. It doesnt fit songs on it if thats what you want but the memory cards are easy to get and quiet cheap so you cant go wrong with it! its a rreally good phone and its not expensive and the camera light is good!!!!! now the bad-- the camera is isnt fatastic but its quite good for a phone only weirdish if you get what im trying to say its a good phone and i recommend it ... byee!!!

I have had this phone for about 3months now and have just got a U600 . The phone is very basic and I always seem to nock the internet key and it ends up taking all my credit.The camera is ok of a day. I like the way you can have themes though and if you press the up key it tells you about your phone and battery and the Music player so u can play your music while your texting however it doesnt have alot of memory i think ive got about 13 songs on it and it will not let me take a photo now cos the memory is full but it lets me record a video :S and when i am texting i find it hard with the keys when i go to do a O i get MMM and i am a quick typer but i cant do this phone. i would get this phone if you want a basic phone and you dont use the camera&music much but it is a easy phone if you arn't that good at using one :) x

I love this phone the battery last forever. The small buttons take some getting used to but once you do its great. Had the phone for nearly a year now and due an upgrade but love the phone so much might not swop the phone. One problem I have is vodafone dont support it so had difficulty in getting picture message settings.

this fone is so brill keys are a bit small but great i needed a memory stik for 20 pound but without that ou can only hold 3 to 5 songs so if you got a extra 20 pound buy the memory stik. love the way it turns on and off with that little button. i got a black my mums got a plum. 5 stars.

Have had this phone for a couple of weeks now. Regarding the problem of the keys sticking, the best advice I've had is that it is the way you hold the phone whilst texting. The camera button on the side is particularly sensitive, and if you are accidently touching this whilst texting then the keys stick! Loosen your grip, don't touch that key, and hey presto! No sticky buttons! Apart from that, the phone shouldn't really be in the cybershot range because the flash is pretty awful in a dimly lit room. Also you can't use the zoom whilst in the 2mp mode. The K800i IS the better phone, but I opted for this as within it's price range, it's the best phone around. The bulkiness of the K800i is just a pain, whilst this little beauty fits easily into your pocket. Music player and radio are excellent and you quickly get used to the size of the buttons on the keypad. Also unlike the K800i the camera lens protector doesn't accidentally open in your pocket thereby draining your battery. All in all the K550i is a good buy for your money and I would highly recommend it!

Hey, its a nice phone I am having 1 problem. When i transfer the songs by connecting it to my PC(via usb), the songs does not play properly but if i transfer the same song by infrared or bluetooth it plays well. what is the problem, i want to transfer it frm my pc...please help me...any help will be appreciated.

A good phone but NOT outstanding. Everything works without glitches. The camera is adequate, the radio excellent, the MP3 player OK and Google's Gmail application for mobiles makes it an excellent and cheap way of reading your Emails on the move. My complaint - the physical quality of the phone is poor. The screen is a mess after a few months in my pocket and the chrome-plating on the keys and elsewhere is peeling off. So, be ready to swap it out every few months.

I really love this phone - have had it about 6 months now and about to buy another for my partner. It is so easy to use the photo blogging and to take pictures. The flash is really good despite not being Xenon. Love the music player hotkeys and the fact the camera turns on when the lens cover is slid down. Also - worked straight out the box - didn't have to spend hours putting settings in for all the features to work. Great value for money!

bought the phone a few months ago, snatched a bargain in tesco on PAYG, sleek, cool looking fone with all of the functionality of a much more expensive handset. a few days ago the pixels started dying in striaght lines down the screen, and now when i make/receive phone calls, i can hear people talking but they can't hear me. just put a claim in on my phone insurance lasted about 6 months without problems though so can't complain too much as it's survived some rigorous use

This phone is fantastic. The keys are not a problem, can text fast and play games on my phone - no problem! The only problem with mine ever was i got it wet and now it keeps freezing. A bit worrying.

the camera on my k550i had quite poor colours which seemed desaturated with a green/yellow tint despite me playing with the settings. pretty much everything else was decent, apart from the foolish idea of placing the charger/headphone socket on the side of the phone, which meant that the jack wobbled about in my pocket and eventually broke. not cool. sadly, it fell to its deasth yesterday and is now broken. rip.

I have had this phone for about 10 months and it now has officially broken 3 times. This last time it is beyond repair and the people at Tesco's are no help. So if you treat your phone well, it may work and be outstanding but in my experiencce it is more trouble than it is worth (but I did drop it down a drain at one point)

I used to have a k750i, but it broke... i just bought this phone a couple of days before, and there are a little bit of things I don't like about it... first of all, the loudspeaker is of a much more lower quality than the k750i's. second: I can't find any movie player (but that's not such a big deal anyway), the buttons were a lot better at the k750i. Oh yeah, and the camera is a lower quality!!! But it's very ok! I would have given 5 stars to the k750i, but this one is about 3.5...

i bought this phone around christmas time, as i know i got the phone for so much more that �50 and that money is a bargain, you have everything you ask for! the flash on the camera is great at night, not so good in the day but you dont really need it in the day! + the cameras fine you would get that for that amount of money. i find that you have great pictures in different type of light, in a natural its great, and in the dark not very good without the flash so thats a HUGE Help. This phone i have i dropped it down the toilet, and i was upset that it wouldn't work from the water but it was fine and that happened about the start of May and its been fine ever since, no faults. So if your planning to buy this phone i think its great. and its a great price, so its defiantly worth it! i give this 5 STARS.

This mobile phone is realy outstanding. It is able to meet up all the demenes. I am using the phone for four months. I faced no problem. Its camera and music is very cool. But there is a little problem regarding USB connection. After 1st installation there is no problem. But when i 2nd time connect my phone through USB, the phone could not be connected as phone mood and the phone could not be found by PC. But data mood is ok. After re-installation the problem disappear. But in 2nd time of connection there is same problem again. If anyone face this kind of problem or know the solution please inform rajpabna@gmail.com

Personaly I love the phone, I have never used any other phone brand than a Nokia. Then came this little toughy here, the Sony Ericsson K550i. It's user friendly, easy to use, the weight and all. But I just dont like the fact that you can not secure your phone with a security code to restrict others from either making callsand/or sms' and/or just touching your phone to be precise.if there is were do you go to set up a security code for others not to excess even your menu options

Now i am using this k550i, it is easy to handle.But, in night time camera clarity is not good and i expect sound also more.I am not that much satisfied with this mobile now.The charger point is also in side.Better is to kept that point in down side.Bco'z i cant able to place it with headset in my jeans.Its automatically gets down.One very bad thing is this phone gets switsh off & on automatically,some times hanging also.I am not satisfied with this phone now.Bco'z of that side point, my headset is not working now.I Hear sound at right side only.The pointers grips also gets loosed.So better make some changes in feautures.

Another overly generous review from this site, and another disappointing purchase for me because of it. I have only had this phone a short while, and already don't like it. The camera quality is very poor and slow to respond. The keypad is cumbersome to use - the joystick in the K800i is far easier. On the plus side: I'm sure TrackID will be a cool application once I am able to get it working. The phone looks good, is slim and relatively light. Don't be fooled though, this is very much a budget phone and not a keeper. [Editor's reply: I think you're referring to the expert review on our sister website, mobile-phones-uk.org.uk. The K550i gets 5 stars, because you'll be hard pushed to find a better phone for fifty quid. It has the best camera, the most memory, good battery life, quadband and more. I bought Sony Ericsson K550i for rs.7100 rom subhiksha mobile...As it was named Cybershot & i wanted mobile which has good camera I told my dad ti buy it...but after buying the mobile I came to know that we cannot zoom in camera with 2 megapixel neiter camera is shake resistance...but in mobile world once we buy the product resale value comes down even if sell the mobile after 2 days...moreover in this phone video recording in also not good..we get a blur if the object of which we r taking video is moving very fast... I donno what type of cybershot is this..but itz a humble request to those who r goin to buy this-please don't buy its waste of money.... and if ur goin to any mobile plz don't buy from subhiksha mobile because they lack in customer srvice's...

Great phone, excellent all round, those who are having trouble texting ensure that your hand is not touching the camera button when typing. I had the same problem with 4 5 6 but once i paid attention to the fact i was holding the camera button it all went away! great phone 5 stars!

Already used this phone for 5 months. Camera - very good Features - very good Looks - not bad. Mine is white The only thing that sucks is the 12-pin connectors. The copper pads oxide easily & I had to scrape it off before charging. This is BAD! BAD! BAD! This also happened to my previous Ericsson & Sony Ericsson phones. That's it, no more SE phones for me until they improve this point. Nokia has a better design for charging port. Sony Ericsson! Please improve this.

I have had this phone since Christmas 2007 when it was in an Argos sale and I have had no complaints. Looking at the other reviews, I can't believe we're using the same phone as my keys have been fine. As for scratching easily, get a case for it. I use a 4Gb card and it works fine and at the moment have got 500 songs stored with well over a gig left. I've never liked in-ear headphones and this is the only thing I hate about it. The camera is not the world's best, at 2 megapixels it's not surprising, but if you take pictures for emailing or putting on a website, it does the job very well. The screen display is excellent and I'm getting a good battery standby time too.

Java It is a fully Java enabled handset .....it has full support to java....don't worry for anything..can run 5 or 6 app at a time.. Screen & Keypad It has got 176X220 screen and it's keypad is good sticky keys...(some people don't like this keyset..) Connectiviy GPRS,Bluetooth,Ired,USB,EDGE all in one touch..websurfing is easy...and simple... Other feutures FM radio. Music Player Video Player Track ID( recordng FM radio then send to internet then recieve via GPRS) Voice recording ALL DJ Software frm SE...and more and more..... I LIKE IT VERY MUCH EVEN IT HAS A LITTLE DISADVANTAGES(Remember all handset has got some disadvantages..)

Hey, I just received the phone today and I think it's beautiful. The camera is great, furthermore the memory and mp3 player. However, one huge problem is the keys. The keys aren't a big problem for me, since my fingers fit almost perfectly on them, but they may be a problem for people with slightly larger fingers. But believe me, it's a brilliant phone- one of my best so far!

I got this phone for Christmas last year, it is absolutely, fantastic all those people who think its camera is rubbish are blind and deaf. I moved to this from a Nokia 3310 so I don't really had much experience with phones, but you can tell that for �50 it is a fantastic value phone. My only complaint is sometimes the lens cap sticks.

some people are having problems with 4and 6. maybe because this is because when holding the phone you are holding the phone so that the camera button on the side is nudged and that could turn 4 and 6 off, try to hold the phone differently and not touch the thing on the side. see if you see a difference.

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago, In the USA...not through my carrier, but as an unlocked phone. I loved the phone, everything seemed fine. I never had any problems with texting or as other people have been complaining abt the numbers sticking. All this never happened. But after 2 weeks, the phone just started to restart itself randomly. Its really annoying. It would drop calls. and turn off in the middle of a text message. I called Sony and it has a 1 year warranty, so hopefully if It doesnt resolve, ill send it in and they will fix it. other then this, its a great quality phone. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

Ive had this phone for a few months after looking at this review site I decided to buy it from Carphone warehouse ive got the special edition plum/lilac colour it looks fab the phone is so easy to use & has features you wouldn't expect from a phone under �70 good camera & music options I thought the battery life lasted well but I don't get to use my phone much during the day as we are not aloud them on at work The only quibble I have with this phone is the key pad it sticks sometimes & doesn't work on the 4 button you can be sitting there pressing it for ages b4 it works but that doesn't happen to often touch wood I have also dropped this phone a few times & it recieved no scratches so it's hard wearing good quality phone for the price I would recommend this phone to anyone & I used to be a nokia girl

I've just bought this phone. Its really a great sweet looking phone and has a very very nice camera but only problem i've found is that the camera is no good at all at night (its really been the problem with my beloved k750i). I have had this phone for about 8 months now and have really enjoyed using it. No problems that some people have talked about. As I alreadly own an mp3 player I have very little use of the player. The camera is fine as again I own a decent camera so this is used purely as a fun snapper. The ear piece sound is not great but only a minor complaint. would recommend.

Thanks for posting my review 29/03/2008, can I add a small clarification please � a) When I said that I could not define shortcuts to specific Applications, I did not describe that correctly, in that: With my K750i, I could define a Shortcut to the Applications folder (on Memory Stick, for example) ... with this K550i, I can only define a Shortcut to "File Manager", can't go any further, to reach Applications for a shortcut; b) I neglected to mention that the K550i has a great feature that I never had in older models � Copy and Paste text; for example, you're reading an email message and you want to Copy text from it, so you press the More button, then look for the Mark & Copy menu command ... then it allows you to select text to copy. Later on, when you're writing a new message, you can use the Paste command. c) The charger/peripheral bus connector is now located on the side, instead of the lower edge of the handset. This is an improvement, but we still have the issue of the contact fingers getting dirty. Too bad they can't design in a spring-loaded shield for the contacts ... but that would probably break for sure. This isn't a bad design, at present. d) I mentioned the voice sound from the earpiece is a bit different, less high notes now ... well, I have played sounds thru the earpiece, using the Service Menu test, and it sounds all right, so I think it has to do with the EQ and voice decoding. It's not a big problem in my K550i. e) Multiple Alarm events is a great feature. f) I kind of miss the little joystick of the K750i, that was very easy to use and never broke down on me. So far, I have no problem navigating up/down/left/right on the K550i, it isn't quite as quick to joystick around as the older joystick-like nub, but the little directional pad is working fine for me. At least they have a raised ridge for the up and down switch/press actions. g) I can't figure out how to re-assign the side button function, I remember that I could do that on my K750i (either Play Media, or something else) ... will have to look it up. I've had this phone about 10 months and think that it's rubbish. It takes ages to text because buttons are so fiddley and if you accidently lean on the camera button - which is very easy to do - then the buttons don't work at all. The camera is blurry and out of focus and by the time the shutter has closed, the object of the pic has usually moved, very frustrating. Nice looking phone but as far as I'm concerned, it's a bimbo of a phone

Bought my K550i just about a week back. I'm very happy with it. My previous model was a K750i, which I was extremely happy with; but, eventually it becomes very beat-up and you're ready for something slightly smaller/slimmer, and updated. VERY HAPPY about the following, in the K550i: Display is wonderful; speed of UI (user interface, clicking, selecting, navigating etc.) is wonderful; built-in apps are nice and updated (over the K750i); Built-in email (IMAP4) client is updated, what a relief(!!) to have SMTP-auth (the K750i had the old- fashioned wide-open SMTP, no auth, not really usable;) this email client also renders email messages much nicer than the older one; Push Email feature is there, and it does work. Built-in RSS browser is not a powerhouse, but seems to be useful as well. File Manager navigation is updated, and handy; The handset is a bit smaller, slimmer, and lighter than my K750i; I believe the battery capacity is inherently greater (larger battery). Firmware updates Over The Air support seems to be a really handy addition, at least the feature is enhanced greatly over my previous (K750i); The built-in web browser (NetFront) is significantly enhanced, over the one I had in the K750i. A relief. NOT VERY HAPPY about the following: Camera's image sensor appears to be not quite as good as the K750i, in capturing fine/distant detail, for still images or video clips ... and the speed of image capture is not much better ... maybe it takes pictures more quickly, but the tendency to motion-blur is fairly high. One thing I've lost is in the area of user-definable Shortcuts (from the side-button), I can no longer assign shortcuts from within File Manager menus. For example, can't define a shortcut to an Application that I've stored either in Phone Memory or in Memory Stick filesystem ... it says "Cannot go Further" whereas on my K750i, I could do that (though I had flashed my K750i before, to de-brand it;) and used that feature all the time. The built-in IMAP4 client still can't subscribe to IMAP custom folders (sub-folders of INBOX, for example ... or other top-level folders on my server), but I understand that would be a major, major upgrade to the email client ... which we probably only see in the really high-end mobile phone models. The sound quality from the ear-spot is not as great, i.e. during a call, my other party sounds a bit muffled; as in, not much high-end/treble sounds (unlike from my K750i). Signal strength reception seems to be slightly impaired, especially in fringe areas, as compared with my K750i ... despite having the 4-band GSM now (compared against 3-band in my previous model) ... i.e. it's harder in some areas to get service now. STILL NO WAY to modify font sizes, in the general UI!! I did find a font size adjustment in the built-in email client, however (while you're reading messages that were received) ... that is a GREAT RELIEF (to be able to reduce the font/point size)!! It's a very nice phone model, I'm very happy in general, thanks to Sony Ericsson! My location is San Jose, CA USA My provider is T-Mobile USA Larry C.

There have been many negative reviews for this product, however I have to completly disagree. The buttons are excellent - no problems there (apart from the occasional lag when pressing the 0 key - but not a major problem). The music player/radio and camera are all excellent and the internal memory and flash are great add-ons. USB is also a great feature, and Infra-red (this using it! :)) and Bluetooth nicely round off this phone. A great buy! You won't be disapointed!

Good phone, its nearly a year old now as i bought it the first few days it was out BUT... now im starting to have problems with it. The buttons have worn down as the only way 2 use the is with your nails. The headphones broke as wires de soldered themselves and fell off. charger doesent work sometimes. music and volume buttons are 2 fidly. And now 2 top it off its started turning itself off every 5 minutes and reseting the clock and date

I do love this phone but sadly its not much better then the classic k800i which is a classic phone and everyone saying it as better music quality its just better headphones the software is the same as the k800i. ok the k559i as track,id and that is about it so save your money and get the old k800i

OK I have this phone. I've had it for nearly a year now. But it broke a couple of months after I got it. When you phone someone, you can't hear their voice. It isn't quiet, you can't hear it. I have reset it a few times and each time it has worked for between 10 minutes and 3 days but then gone back to broken. You have to put the speaker on and turn the sound down, and even then the whole vicinity can hear your conversation. The rest of the phone is brilliant (other than the fact that it has an adversion to zooming in and the internet is a little slow). The camera is good and the settings are nice. But this problem is making it a pain to live with. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? My email is tomato_ketchup_rocks@hotmail.co.uk. Please mail me if you know why it is happening, have a solution or just know what I am talking about. Thanks for reading.

i have read alot of reports on this fone i had bought it a about a month and a half ago i had spent retail and bought it from centennial wireless. i really love this fone with the mp3 player camera i have some issuses with the phone like th day i bought it frooze but then again i did go see cloverfield i personaly think that was the problem i love it i can choose my network that i want to be on when it doesn't have a signal when i need to use my insurance with my fone company the just give me a brand new fone instead of trying to fix it or giving you a refurb i have had some problem witht the internet working it asked for a user id and have no idea how to fix it but i really luv this fone

I would strongly recommend anyone to seriously consider purchasing the K550i. This phone incorporates a very high number of features at an incredibly reasonable price. I got this phone free from 02 when my old one haa manafacturing problem. When i first recieved the phone i was dleighted by they qualtiy of the music, and simple layout, however...Picture quality is poor when using the camera, and it can be hard to get good lighting. Aswell as this buttons 4 and 6 kept sticking, so it made it hard to use when texting quickly. If your looking for a Phone which you can drop a numbervof times without it breaking this phone is the one, i must have dropped the phone around 20 times and the damage so far is a small chip on the top corner. So due to the stickin gof the keys and below average camera i have given this fone 3 stars.

I have just bought this phone, having been a devote Nokia user, and I must say it is a really good little phone, the only prob with it that I can see is when the battery gets low it loses a little bit of function but that can be said of a lot of phones (fixed of course by charging!!) I have found it easy to use and really easy to download themes for it. All in all a great all round phone.

Not great, I loved the K510i, but this seems to have a poorer camera facility for example: not as sharp, far blurrier etc. Phone is buggy too - will not show missed calls, or any call log info. So I smashed it up. Music player is good though. As always with Sony gear.

I think this is a really really nice phone. I've had it for a while now, and I'm quite pleased with it. only problems are that it gets convered in fingerprints, and it scratches quite easily. Loads of people have been complaining about the keys sticking, but it's not as bad as they make it out to be. it's a really nice phone!

I purchased the K550im I simply cannot download from s/e website. o2 have been unhelpful and s/e i am still waiting for a reply from November. I have upgraded the software from the website still doesnt allow me to download. Reset it to manufacturers setting still no joy. Now the b@@@@ at argos refuse to doin anything. I though I was doing right by getting rid of my old Philips, yes Philips but atleast it works.

Got this phone for Christmas 2007 and i find it incedible. everything is great esspecially the camera. the music and the video recording quality is fantastic. the buttons are well thought out too.the side buttons work very well and the themes you can get on it are brillant. i recommend it very much. well done sony ericsson you made another outstanding phone. it looks very nice too and is small and handy for any situation.the memory is big even on the in phone memory. i got a 1gb m2 memory stick and i can hold 46 songs and still hav about 630mb left. i rate it 5 STARS simply because sony ericsson has thought of everything and certinally knows what people want. one thing though, sometimes the 123456789#0* buttons can not respond sometimes but it doesn't do it often enough to annoy you at all. absoutely brillant-working good-looking phone

hya, had this phone since september and it had been fantastic. had no problems at all, some people told me that there's had a few problems but mine has had none what so ever. the only problem that i can think of is the volume when you are playing your music, but that is just probably because i am 15 and am always out with mates so its louder outside than usual (that's why i probably can't hear it brilliantly) when i am in the house it is loud enough though, the ringing voolume is very good and texting is easy, i thought the buttons might be slightly harder to text with as i am fast and the buttons are ony small but it has been good. i am getting the new w910i delivered tomorrow and have been told about all their problems so i am hoping mine is going to be ok. fingers crossed. xXx

I had this phone for about 5 weeks and it said "serious error". i called sony ericcson who were no use and it is still like it. now i cant hear people on the other end when i call. If this hasnt happened with any other handset, then this is a great phone. for the weeks it worked i loved it. cool design, nice camera, nice music system and everything you would expect from a SE

The best cell phone I've ever had. Earlier I used to be a die-hard fan for Nokia phones. But this time, I decided to go for Sony Ericsson. The K550i has proved out to be the best for me in terms of design aesthetics, audio & video quality, great ease of use, friendly menus and ultra fast navigation and a lot more, at a perfectly best price.

My sister has this phone and its great. You can put about 20 songs on it and the camera is quite good and the sound is not bad for a cheap walkman. The buttons are are fine and so far we have had no problems with it. Its a cool looking phone and the screen is Ok. I like it and its a great first phone according to my sister.

Just bought this phone from a second hand shop in my town for a brilliant price of �40. Brilliant phone with nice slim design and good graphics. nice camera with just the 2MP. Good light and cybershot feature. Good 70MB memory but can take a lot more. If find 70MB quite adequate. Took all my pictures from a week holiday on it. I even have got 8 songs and can still take another 160 pics. brilliant fast USB and good charge lasts. No problems with sticking keys. Far better than Nokia! Overall a epic phone to have!!!

A piece of Rubbish. Jar files are blocked (so you can't install software). Doesn't support cookies (so you can't read webmail, hotmail, yahoo). All of this is delierate so they can charge you with the services offered by i-mode.. In Greece they charge 10cents to read an email... so thats why they block cookies and won't let you login to webmail on all imode phones...Also can't use nimbuzz, jajah or any other application that would bypass this. Really need to hack this thing

This s really a nice phone. Infact, i'm writing this review using this phone only with jus 5 days after buying this mobile. Good camera clarity. But it seems to b a bit noisy at times. Got �10 for my old K510i at orange shop, K550i was �34.95 so a great bargain for �24.95, lot better than 510i as radio, flashlight, expandable memory and better camera. I do miss the scrolling time when on standby mode though. The buttons do seem small but as I have tiny hands not too much of a problem.

If you're picking for a Price/Performance MobilePhone ... then Buy this K550i it's woth the money spent. Don't compare this with the expensive unit, definitely you will find more features and with higher quality outputs with it. I have this for my wife, she likes it better among it's rivals of the same price.

As a huge fan of sony ericsson phones, i love the K550i and the W850i, i own both but the K550i is my fav, it is study and built to a high spec for such little money,i dropped mine down a flight of comcrete stairs and it still works , only a few scratches!!

This is the best phone i have ever had! I chose this over the Walkman version of it the W610i and it's just as good! It actually has at least 74MB of memory! i know because i added a 1GB memory card and it now says 74MB free phone memory! It has an excellent camera, with the "Best shot feature", great music player (It's just as good as my friends W610i - A Walkman phone no less) It has fast internet, The Flash is great for walking home in the dark and adds great effect to night time photos, nice large font, i love the keypad. You can't fault it really. If you don't like the keypad (As some people don't) then buy a different phone. If you don't like the phones keypad. then don't buy it! Try the W810i which is built for bigger hands, or the S500i! Try the "best shot" feature. If you want to use the phone as an MP3 then invest in a memory card. Walkman speakers (Yes they can be used with it!!!) as this increases not only the amount of music you can store but the sound quality aswell. One last tip! For some reason alot of reviews don't review all of it's features (Like the 74MB of memory or the "Playnow" / "TrackID") If you want to know how the phone is really like in music player terms then read reviews for the W610i! THEY are exactly the same! This handset might aswell be a Walkman phone because the only thing it doesn't have is the "Megabase" feature! Oh and yes i have tested it against a Walkman phone! Overall if you want a great camera, music player, internet and host of other features this is the phone for you! Don't buy the W610i, this is much better and is cheaper!

Got this phone 2 weeks ago, i had heard alot about this phone so i thought i would give it a try! It is a great song it has a decent camera and it has a slot for expandable memory which is also v good. Overall i give it a 5 star rating! If anyone out there is looking for a decent phone this is the one for you! I also havent had any problems with my buttons!

I have had this phone for about 4 months and am really pleased with it. It is really good value for money and looks great. The camera is good but it takes a few seconds to take a picture - and blurs a lot so not so good for when you want to take a picture of like, something that is moving. I have no idea what a lot of people are saying about sticky keys lol - mine are fine. They are not "stuck" at all. I recommend this phone, but I am getting another - probably the W580i because i'm bored of the design - i want a slidey now = ] 4 stars because its not slidey = [ but still very good = ]

initially i bought this phone because of CYBERSHOT.but the camera quality is not so satisfactory...easy to handle this phone and music player is also good....but the number keys are difficult to use...why such keys were designed i dont know...more over phone hangs sometimes......but the display is excellent ..slim..good look

A stylish, light and sleek model with loads of technology in an easy to use format. Able to add lots of music to listen to or use of a radio, email and a good camera. Had to buy extra memory but that wasnt a problem as I wanted the choice to listen to lots of music. Ive got a lovely plum coloured one and I love the screen saver colour too. Fits snuggly in to phone sock. Buttons are small but fine to use. Had no problems with battery so far, as mentioned on other reviews. Also carphone warehouse did a great deal with me, so after I traded in my old on I got the phone for �40 but had to buy credit. Still a brilliant deal as Argos have them at �129!

Look is nice, handy, slim, display is cool, camera is also very good, only problem I found in speakers,sound quality is not very good, while on call also the voice quality is not it's best,and the keys...to difficult to manage.

yes, i bought this mobile 2 days ago... TOP TOP CLASS... the camera is superb, 64mb added in is great, the features such as track ID, music,video,and photoDJ are all brilliant, its so customisable. it brings together the business man and the fun-loving man. a great, great phone.

i got this phone for christmas and i love it. It has great features and the camera is really good. It has good memory and it also has a slot for a memory card, i have a 2gb one which gives me nearly 2000mb of memory. The music plays really well and comes out clear. This the best phone i have ever had.

I have had this phone for 4 days and its absolutely great.Only 2 things are bugging me: the battery life is poor...very poor!!!And when texting, the buttons stick!!!!My dad payed �110 for it! I'm lucky i didn't pay for it or everything would be wrong with it!!!!lol

I have noticed people saying that the camera wont zoom in on the normal mode,all you have to do is go into the camera,go to picture size and change it to VGA, the zoom should work in normal mode now. I love this phone its superior to the k750i by far and it is sleek and stylish

I purchased a sony k550i in may 2007 ,In dec 2007 it started to malfunction when i took a picture it is not saving them and it is showing all folders as unknown files . to solve this i did master reset and placed it for warenty and they returned it in 25 days and again after charging it for few hours and checking it ,it was back to normal i called the sony customer service 39011111 the told to send this back to warenty at the same service center as prior and to wait another 15 days or more . i will mail again when they returned my phone

This is a great phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has perfect design (the buttons are cool for me) ,it has very good display with 262 000 colours. The memory is outstanding , it has 65MB on phone and up to 2GB memory card.The sound is very good and the software in the phone is awesome.The only thing which is not very good is the camera :-( It is a 2 MP and takes wonderfull photos outside on light,but the photos taken in dark places aren?t very good. It is the best phone which could be found on the market and it is so cheap.Don?t waste a second more , just go and buy it now.

i have had this phone for about 4 months and i love it! its the best phone i have ever had! even if i do have the sony ericsson k550im it has all the same features as the k550i. Great camera shots,phone storage,easy to use, lots of memory and plenty more but i do have to say if i could change somthing it would be thee reaction time to taking a photo it isnt instant but it takes it after 2 secs and the keys do get annoying at first and if you have large fingers i wouldnt recomend it better for people with slightly smaller hands and fingers. But do get it! it is a good phone.

I've had this phone for a week and can say that its the best phone that I have had. I bought it for �70 including �10 credit from the CarphoneWarehouse which was a bargain. The camera is great, the phone looks class and all the features are just great. It supports MP3 and has an FM Radio aswell. At the moment without a memory card, the phone stores 9 tracks and 50 pictures that I got off the internet so the internal memory is good but I am looking for a memory card. The battery life is average but for �70 its the best phone around. If your looking for a reasonably priced phone, go for the K550i.

Amazing phone: great music and picture quality, nice big screen, easy to navigate in the menus, good internal memory, even without a memory stick (micro). little niggles: 1. when taking a picture, you need to hold the button for 3 seconds before it actually takes the picture, i would prefer it to be a little shorter, but i also think that the reason for this delay is the auto focus working to create the AMAZING picture quality GREAT PHONE

Bought this handset 2 weeks back and i hav to say its a beautiful and a crafty product. The look is awesome and it has just enough functions to make it a very good phone. The only negative is the back panel which creaks and looks a little weak. Apart the back panel its a cell phone which one will in love with.

i bought a new se k550i, the phone has some good features comparing k750i, 1. but sometimes while smsing or any key pressing, these digits doesnot work - 4,6,0, left bar. 2. while file transfering with the computer, after i transfered my file closing the appropriate application, the phone gets automatically restarted. r these any software or hardware problem ? trustme29m@indiatimes.com

I thought I was going mad until I read the reviews here as I got this phone and had problems with the numbers 4 and 6. Sometimes they just didn't work at all no matter how many times I pressed or how hard I pressed. So I returned it and got a replacement only to have the same problem, this time with numbers 4 and 0. I thought it must just be me but now I'll definitely go back and get a refund. I don't understand though why some people seem so happy with it and others have such a nightmare. Are there dodgy batches?

I brought this phone today and its reeeeeally nice... just one complaint!! and thats that you HAVE to have a memory card to be able to use the computer-to-phone facilities..(ie; the usb cable to transfer music and pictures) but no worries, i'm buying one tommorrow!! hehe xx

This phone is amazin! Its got everything i would want, great music player, great camera, and its sony ericson wich is a brill make of phone. There are a few problems tho......i got this phone last april, and the buttons can sometimes get stiff. They are also really hard to text with....so if you spend your life texting, i dont recomend this phone, unless you have a lot of time!

Great value handset, is important to acknowledge on most phones the 4 and 6 button is not broken, rather people are accidently pressing the camera button on the side of the handset with their palm which jams the buttons. May be a fault but the phone only seems to recieve messages when I press a button, which often means I recieve messages late.

This phone is great, there is very little wrong with it. The only problems/faults i have experienced are: zoom doesn't work on normal camera mode, sometimes the left key doesn't work, also the buttons are a little bit too small but you get used to them, the camera is acceptable and has some great effects but is not really that good (only 2 megapixel, whereas many phones nowadays have 4 or 5 megapixel cameras) but overall the camera and the whole phone is very good. plus it's very cheap to buy so i would recommend it to anyone!

Got this after my beloved and very beaten up K750 finally gave up the ghost- You know the story- Damn navi key probs! Anyway Im really quite pleased with it overall- Just the keys are a bit fiddly and small and it doesnt display the time when its in standby- as the 750 did- or am I missing some kinda display setting?

I have had this phone for six months now and wasnt really impressieve. It dosent deserve to be a cybershot phone with poor 2.25 zoom. Poor buttons and takes ages to text. Also poor features. Resolution is poor. I have now left sony ericcson and moved on to nokia which have best all round perfomance. I now have a 6300

The specifications for this phone are great for the money, and when it's working it's pretty good. But the 4, 5, 6 and Left keys were constantly jamming on my 1st phone after a week, so took it back and got a replacement. Had this for 4 days, and it's suffering the same problem. I don't know if it's a design fault or a software error but it renders the phone pretty much useless a lot of the time

this is the worst phone ive ever had. i returned it just three days after purchase as i was expecting much more than a crwppy camera and a message set. honestly i dont know hu wud pay so much 4 such a waste of time... on the other hand i like the design overall i'd give the design 2/10 which is opretty high considering now i have hte iphone and i even dislike that i have my eye on the samsung U700 but i've heard that is rubbish so i will also not purchase that one either. This might be one of the best phones out there - but Sony needs to fix the software. I've replaced my phone now 4 times, (So I am on my 5th phone) and each and every one of them has intermittent problems with the number 6 key. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That's just no good. Also - you can zoom in video mode, but you can't zoom in photo mode. Why is that?? Battery life is not so great. Don't get me wrong, this is a great phone, but it needs some serious fixing by SONY.

I love this phone, having owned 2 Sagem's, 2 Motorola's a Nokia, and the Vodafone 710 this phone outstrips them all. I absolutly love this phone, i got it because i wanted a Sony Ericson, my best friend had the W610i (Which is worse!) and i chose this phone. I love the small keypad, fast internet, camera, i could go on. I just love it so much and i don't want another phone plus the camera has a cover(which is just aswell with me) All in all the best phone i have ever owned and MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the overrated W610i!!

I've had this phone for 2 weeks now and it's perfect, the camera on this phone is excellent, the best 2mp I've ever seen. This phone is outstanding in every department, Camera, Sound, Screen, Being a phone and everything else. only �60 from Carphone Warehouse and it's unlocked aswell, a bargain. I bought a 2GB M2 memory card and a pair of SE Speakers and it's now a portable music system, all for under �100. I've had no problems with it as of yet, the keys are fine, and the way you take the back cover off hasn't been a problem (I think it's quite a good design idea) It's and outstanding piece of kit and for �60 you couldn't get anything else better. 5 Stars! well worth it!

People says that the camera is not good i think they need a eye checkup and somesays camera is not good like k750i, I think they are fool because camera in both mobile is same. Had this phone for about 3 months now. Great phone, I'll just focus on the bad parts of its design though. Since most people already have said how good it is. The Wap Button, the big half circle button on the left side of the phone, is really annoying. I keep pressing it when I pull the phone out of my pocket or such. MP3 player, well its not a Walkman line phone, so what can you expect? Still woulda been nice to have an on the go playlist maker of some sort. Heck, most low end mp3 players have this... Just lazyness on sony's part. The phone can be abit uncomfertable to hold up to your ear, this is due to the sharp corners on the top edge of the phone. But, you dont reall need to press it up against your ear so much, the speaker is loud enough. Still I prefer keeping the tone down. Inability to set the speaker volume of the alarm clock! Yes, really annoying, I cant wake up to most music tracks, because the phone starts it off at a ear hurting maximum volume level. I keep my phone in my desk drawers, on the other end of my room, so that I dont get a headache from this loud wake up. Fast port location, yeah, its annoying. I mean why is it on the side? Dont really see a reason for this, maybe they were going to make some sort of camera accessory line for the device, but figured it wasn't worth it... No zoom in the camera, least not with the 2mpx mode. You can get it with the lower quality modes, and video, but not with the "Normal" camera mode... Really wierd.

I read all the comments abt this phone and i am surprised to see that people are saying that this phone camera is Bad,I think they need an appointment from doctors may there is problem in there eyes. I Purchase this phone 3 months ago and I am completely satisfied. Camera is good as u can expect from cybershot.The only problem in this phone is its keypad,Keypad of this phone is very small.If u have big hands then dont buy this phone,otherwise Gr8 phone. 3.5 stars for design, 4.5 stars for features & 4.5 stars for usability. I reccomend all of u 2 buy this phone.Beleive me this phone is true value for money as it cost ony Rs 8200(apprx.) in india.

The style of the phone is very nice though keys are thin but good to touch. Camera is outstanding also resolution compare to the price u paid. Large font, playlist of mp3, magic word, auto focus �. are really nice features. But one thing it could not play AAC format music though specification said so. This is a true master piece... I can't find ny thing that is not there except 3G... The cam is excellent.. sound quality, good... it even acts as a USB drive... USB charger is also a nice addition... display is also gr8... the coolest thing is tht all these things are bundled at a very reasonable price.... I bought it for 200$...

Nice phone... but what happened with the camera? U cant zoom in 1MP or 2MP mode!! Ok, i can zoom in VGA (640*480) mode, but... please, I have a 2MP camera and i cant zoom? If u dont mind that problem, the cellphone is great... oh, and the keys are small, if u have a big hands, believe me, is not ur phone... My advise: check out the nokia 6300, is better, i think. 4 stars

i bought this phone last week and i love it lots! got it in plum colour cos its pretty, and i just love everything about the whole phone! im finding new cool things to with it everyday! i have no problem with the keys at all!

i recieved the mobile about 2weeks ago and it has beein a grate little phone but the onley problem is it can sumtimes lock up and it take about 15mins to sort it self out but overall i good little phone i would recomend 1 2 u

Problem with buttons 4;6;0 and navi to the left are appearring when you accidentally press camera button. If you are right handed person you will have this problem ;-). I am trying to find option in my phone or upgrade of software to fix this problem

Outstanding all rounder. For those of you who say it doesn't have a good camera i suggest you get a pair of glasses and steady your hands because the camera has worked fine for me (2mp). Great mp3, and sleek design. 5 star.

I have only had a Sony Ericsson K550i for about 4 weeks, it is my first Non Nokia Mobile. It has a lot of good features such as bluetooth and a decent 2 megapixel camera. You can also edit photo's and compose music. It could do with more games, mine's only got "Puzzle slider." On the downside, the weird strip buttons do make it look stylish, but they are quite hard to use and texting is quite hard.

Good phone for everthing, camera fantastic, sometimes a little slow to respond to instructions via the keypad, and the buttons a little stiff, but overall a very well organised tidy phone, good screen aswell...

This is the best phone I have owned for 4 years... I swap my phone every 9-12 months as I soon get bored of them but with this model i think it will be different. I love everything about it. I thought the buttons may be a little small to use in the beginning but i have changed my mind. The camera is great and there is mo0re than enough room on the internal memory for quite a lot of photos and music tracks.

This is 3rd year in a row i have had a SE phone and K550 is by far the worst. I am now onto my 3rd handset in six months. First one made loud crackling noises during calls, exchanged after 2 weeks, 2nd handset worked fine for approx 4 months then came up with an error message 'configuration error, please contact your network operator or service centre' and phone wouldn't let me access any of the menus, consequently i lost all my stored phone nos, pics etc. 3rd and current handset, signal keeps dropping and disply says 'no network coverage' but coverage is fine when i put my sim in a different phone. Phone looks good, but otherwise v.disappointed

Brill phone for a brill price! Bought it yesterday from Carphone Warehouse for �59.99 and think it's excellent value for money! Not used the camera much yet but think its ok! Did have the K750i but that broke so wanted another sony ericsson. I was going to take it back as the 4 and 6 don't work sometimes but just read that its when the camera button is pressed! THANKS! Definatly would recomend as there isn't much it doesn't have!

Got the phone today and very impressed! Used Nokias and Motorolas in the past but this is the best ever. Small and light but feels chunky, well made and solid. Colour display excellent and menus vey easy to follow. Music through hands free earphones very good. Price on these is down to �60 - �80 and for that they are mega value for money - think some critics should bear that in mind when comparing it badly to phones which cost 4 or 5 times as much! Remember the K550i won't play music as good as a �500+ CD system or take pictures like a �500+ dSLR camera - its a phone! But for the money the best phone around. Five stars!

after a big heart- ache of losing my k 700i, i bought this phone nd i cant help flaunting this phone in front of my friends. everybdy praises this fone nd i do, bt d major shortcmings are:- average battery lyf. unsatisfactory perf. since i kp on using it constantly in aday, i nd 2 charge at least 2 times in a day. the clr has also strarted 2 cm off frm the camera side. and THE SILVER OUTLINE AND CLR OF D NAVIGATN KEYPAD HV CM OUT IN JST 5 MNTHS> otherwise a gd buy go for it

Tis is the first phone i get...i like it as it has complete and well functions tat major people want...the price is also acceptable...but the only drawback is its loud speaker is too small in volume even open all sound...the best thing is i can transfer file from it to my pc and vice versa...

Utter junk... do not buy it... not even as an upgrade! Mine's from T-Mobile on an 18 month contract so I'm stuck with it for at least another 11 months!!! I've experience similar faults as the others, but worse recently any incoming text just disappears as soon as it's read, in some cases before it's read. Incoming calls ditto... I just get the red arrow with unknown in my call history. You can only see who it is when it initially comes in! I've always had Ericssons/Sony Ericcson phones... but this is possibly my last. It's awful... the pearl white looks good, nice blue lights... but it's so difficult to even remove the battery/sim cover. Awful design... SonyEricsson should hang their heads in shame! Avoid it at ALL costs... wish I'd gone with the Nokia N95 when I had the chance!!! Oh and the camera quality sucks too, grainy, blurry rubbish - my old orange & white W800i is superior quality in all areas by far. If I could get my sim out I'd go back to it today!!!! Grrrr!!!

OMG! What an amazin phone! I dont normally like the candy bar types, but the look of it and the amount it does, and only for �70.00! I couldn't say no! If ur lookin for an easy fone to get the hang of quickly, but with brilliant features, this is the one for you!

Many users report certain keys (4-5-6-0)failing to respond.I thought I had the same problem, but it only happens if you accidentally press the camera button on the right side when texting, etc. Advice-be careful or type, holding headset in the left hand:-) In all other aspects the phone is very good, esp for the price. My only pain-goes very warm after a call lasting more then 6-7 minutes.SE support said its normal with slim phones,but its quite annoying.

well i bought a k550im n i dont like them now at the time i did untill it started playing up after 2 weeks of having it, it started making crackling noises and wouldnt turn on and when it did it turned back off its not the battery because i tryed the battery in my brothers phone which is a w300i and it worked fine so personally i think the phone is no good at all.

This is an excellent phone feature wise, but I am now on my third one as it keeps breaking. Every week or so, whenever i phone someone they can hear me but i can't hear them, i've found a way around this problem which is to reset the settings but that gets abit annoying as you lose all the words that you have out into your predictive text. Also the 4 and 6 keys only seem to work when they want to when i'm writin a text. Final fault is that when i recieve a text it comes up saying that i have 3 or 4 texts that are all exactly the same but there is only one in my inbox.

Don't buy this phone if you use Mac. iSync can't pair this phone via Bluetooth. Feels cheap. It cost a lot for what it is, piece of plastic.

I just bought K550I a month back and I am already facing problems with this phone. Previously I used to get virus messages thru out the day. Now there is a new problem, that if I do not use my phone for half an hour even, it gives the caller the message of out of coverage, or mobile is switched off, when actually it is on and very much in coverage. I feel cheated, and would suggest that you think twice before picking it up.

superb value for money, great design. only reason i gave it four stars is that i cant zoom when taking a picture, only on video. Also the overall keypad is quite small. None the less a recommended buy.

Amazing value for money. The camera's excellent, doesn't break easily (i drop my phone all the time, not intentionally though) and it looks the bees knees. I was going to get hte samsung d900i but im so happy i bought this instead!

I got this phone back in April and i am really disappointed with it! The features on it are good but the numbers keep breaking! I got a replacement due to this, but the new one is doing exactly the same! Its pathetic! Stay away!

I have this phone now and i love it! The only problem is that the camera isn't as good as the k750i but i am prepared to live with this because it is streets ahead of the camera on my old phone, the razr v3i. Also, the keys are a bit fiddly but once you get used to them they are allright. i love the multitasking functionality and the flash is quite good, better than most phones but not as good as the xenon flash on the k810i and the k800i. also, for a camera focused phone, i like having the dedicated play/pause button and the volume rocker/track skip keys

[This review is a 'bit' long, but never mind.] I have had this phone for about 2 weeks now, and i am pleased with it, but starting to experience a few problems... The camera is a lot better than the 2 megapixel's on other sony ericsson phones because it is a cybershot.[Obviously cybershot camera's are better than standard.] It had good sound quality, but whilst making a call, I have found the speaker is crackly on normal and on loudspeaker, no matter how strong my service/network coverage/signal is.[problem #1] Some of the buttons freeze when typing, which can be annoying and take a long time as you have to wait until the phone wants you to type again! So I wouldn't recommed the phone if you text quite a lot.[problem #2] Basically on this phone: The camera is good, the screen is a good size, the buttons could stop freezing and the battery life could be a bit longer. There are a lot of fantastic phones for sale, but not everything can be prefect at a reaonable price. The phone is excellent for its price and I reccomend it! [I wouldn't get the w610i which looks like the k550i as it has a worse camera and will cost you more money!] Sorry for the long review, but i did warn you! Hope it has helped you make a decision... =]

I own this phone and there is always some problem- memory card stops working, sometimes i cant unlock phone keypad, after 5 min call the battery is so hot, other people cant call me because phone is telling them that my phone is switched off but actually my phone is switched on and i can make outgoing calls. Image is cool but phone is rubbish!

I have purchased this phone after using Motorola V3i. Camera not as good as i'd expected. Peculiar texting as buttons far too small. Impressed with screen clarity though. Cannot comment on music as i do not use. Why on earth has a company like Sony Ericsson not sorted out the sticking buttons, if you buy a S.E you either get for free sticking buttons or sticking joystick, WHY? I will probably sell this on ebay and find a Motorola which has a brilliant clean and unfussed design and lights up a cool blue. Goodbye Sony Ericsson K550i

this man is slim.... so i thought it will be a phone wid cool features and cool looks.... then after using it... i was astonished. this man is really a powerful man... packed with excellent features..i will tell all its positives now... 1. excellent 2 mp camera in its class and price,nice auto focus,macro mode,cybershot software,we can shoot high quality pics with nice focus to its class,photolight is useful. 2. the display is bright and sharp, worthy display,176*220 resolution tfd,very nice 3. memory is 74 mb internal and 64 mb card packed.. enough for phone... if needed more can expand to 1 gb 4. battery life is awesome.... solid 2.5 days if we use average 5. sound quality super... with earphone music is excellent.... with onboard speakers its good 6. slim factor 7. beautiful keypad. but should practice for a day for new users. 8. a2dp is der 9. picture blogging is der... u can update ur blog straight from phone 10. sowfware is fast and very easy to use. its user friendly like nokia 11. file sharing with usb,bluetooth,infrared are also fast 12. plays mp4,3gp video formats 13. average price 14. the d pad is very easy to use 15. lens cover is strong and useful dont compare this phone with any other.... because its SE K550i . old k750i users dont fight with this phone. this man is latest. camera quality is almost equal to k750i. but in k550i we can make pictures more better even after shooting it. so this is latest. THIS IS EXCELLENT IN ITS CLASS
