The Sony Ericsson K510i is a very good mid-range camera phone. It comes in a smart sleek black or purple finish with the option to change the appearance using the Style Up covers. The phone only weighs 82g so it is a nice lightweight design.
The built in camera is 1.3 megapixels with video recording capabilities. In comparison with other similar phones this is a very good camera for this price range.
This phone has an excellent large TFT display supporting 262k colours and a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.
The K510i comes with a music and media player which allows you to listen to your MP3's and watch video clips. Unfortunately however, there is no option to extend the phones external memory with a memory card so you can only store data up to 28 MB depending on the configuration of your phone.
This phone has MP3 and 40-voice ringtones which means that 40 notes can be played simultaneously. In comparison with other similar phones in this price range, this is a good standard although some phones are offering a 72-voice polyphonic sound as well as MP3 such as the Z610i.
It has excellent connectivity with Bluetooth, USB and infrared. The Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly connect to another device with this capability up to 10 metres away, while the infrared connection can only connect on a much shorter range.
The internet connection for this phone is GPRS. This in comparison with others in this price range is below average as many phones have a significantly faster transfer rate with 3G or EDGE.
The battery talk time is 360 hours which is amongst the highest within the mid-range phones. It works on a tri band operating frequency meaning it will work in Europe and America but not in Japan.
Overall this is a very good phone for this price range and we would recommend this product. The only weakness is the lack of memory card which is a downside because the MP3 player would benefit from this feature greatly.

I love this phone. I've had it since January 2006 and it's still going strong. None of the keys have ever broken nor the back fallen off, however when I shut down/start up it takes a while but that's because i filled the memory to bursting and it's fine as I barely ever turn it off =) The battery life is great and long lasting, unlike my brother's sony ericsson which will only use my charger causing him endless problems. Another problem would be with the connection to computer but this is down to my poor care of the cable. I am soon looking to replace this phone but I cannot see myself straying from Sony Ericsson, the make is so durable and simple to use =) I am planning to keep this phone as a second use for festivals, gigs, camping etc. as I know it is reliable. 5/5!!

The phone is ok i using it for quite 2 years.the camera is ok for a middle range phone and the media player is of great quality.the bad thing is that its keypad and joystick is like hell it get scratched and the back cover gets loose the connectivity is ok and of course it has no memory card .i hope sonyericsson launch a new k510i phone with better features.

Good phone but i would not recommend it for teenagres. camera's pretty useless, and there is only 28 megabytes for everything...which means you can only have a few songs which dobn't take up to much memeory if you have quite a few pictures!! it is easy to use i must admit and it is a sturdy phone..(dropped it many times and there only been a few stratches and tiny weeney chips here and there...it's never broke or gone wrong apart from the time when i locked the sim by accident but that was my fault!! excellent phone but i wouldnt say for teenagers who like there music, pictures etc!!

Ok, this phone is a good phone in ways. it looks bril, it's small but not so small that it gets lost, camera is good although it is only 1.3 megapixels...etc. Cons...there is only 28mb of memory and you can not use a memory card as the phone can not hold them. that is pretty much it for the cons!! have dropped it a billion times before and it has never broken b4 apart from the time when i locked the sim or something but that's my fault. its also very durable as even thiugh i have dropped many a time its never craked or lost a corner. just a few straches with 1 or 2 tiny dents. its not a terrible phone and i would recommend it, but if your a teenager that likes their music i wouldnt go for it as sometimes the speaker becomes faulty, but yet again that ould be my fault!!! ive put 3 stars but i would probs put it 3 n 3

Having had this phone for just over a year (just after the waranty finished), it broke in a peculiar way. Some of the buttons dont work(the on off button, 1, 2, 3, select, and 2 directions on the arrow. It is odd because these buttons work in the java applications and in several of the less frequently used sony erricson features. This means the fault is not hardware or a mechanical fault with the phone. But the fault is software, as a software engineer I am aware software doesnt break in that way after a set ammount of time. The fault is an intentional built in redundancy. The phone is designed to break. I think this is immoral and disgraceful. I will never purchase another phone from this manufacturer as I view this as criminal damage. I urge you to do the same.

had this phone for 2 years now, it's not bad - memory could be better but will hold about 100 pics with a few songs on aswell. cameras alright, but you have to keep it very still or the pics will be blurry when you blow them up on computer. when you first turn it on you will have to wait a bit for it to sort itself out or it'll be slow to use. normally by the time it's found your network provider it'll be good to go. the joystick navigation is really good - better than having 4 separate buttons for up down left right cos you don't have to keep repositioning your thumb i'd say this phone is good for first timers and if your not fussed about having all the latest features, but keep your mp3 player and digital camera.

A stylish, compact phone and very good value for the little money paid for it. A lot of features, perhaps it would be better with an expandable memory and better camera but it's very good! I recommend it!

o bought this phone for �40. it has survived quite a few drops and even being left out in the wet over night, twise!! i managed to find it both times, its a bit nakered now but has lasted me a good 6 months :) if your looking for a cheap phone nothing fancy, or your just really clumsy i would recomend this phone.

This is a really bad phone. I've had it for about 2 years now and it's really let me down. It keeps switching off for no reason and then switching back on saying "sim card inactive" however it goes back to normal after about 5 mins. The features are all really old, the camera is horrible and there's hardly any memory. Can't even get one of those memory cards to put in it!! It's really rubbish for 2008...two years ago it was still pretty new and cool but it's not worth buying it anymore. Don't buy it.

ive had this phone nearly 2 years and its still in pretty good contition, which is saying something because i drop it loads and dont look after it as much as i should. the only critism i have is that the back has come quite loose, but i fiddle with that alot so not much of a surprise, also the navigating button in the middle is a bit wierd sometimes. the mp3 player is good and has a good volume range. the cable and software to connect it to the computer doesnt work with vista so you need to make sure you can get music through blue tooth or windows xp or something. the memory could be better it just depends what you want it for.

I've had mine for a year and it works fine with me, with a decent camera for snap shooting and excellent audio quality for the favorite songs you love to use as ring tones. The low-downs ofcourse are 1) the non-expandable memory (which I don't really mind because I do have a separate music player). 2) the horrible joystick (I'm glad that SE finally decided against it). 3) the rather short battery life. But I still rate it as excellent specially on toughness, I've dropped this phone a lot of times and it still works fine! =)

Have to say this phone is very long lasting if you treat it right, it does all the basic functions, sound is decent quality but the camera isnt that good and need to keep taking the back cover off to wipe the camera. if it had memory card capabilitys that would make it 5* reccomended if you want a cheap phone

I've had this phone for over a year now, and for what I wanted it for (ie calls and text), it's perfect. It's small, light and has been 100% reliable. I have to say it amazes me what people expect. Take a look at the specs, it's a basic phone not a walkman, camera etc. To get features like that you need to spend money. I paid �130 for mine which is very cheap for a mobile handset, (top end handsets are over �300!!). For the money and what it claims to be a full five stars.

All in all a great phone. The 1.3 mega pixel camera is excellent although the screen doesn't do it justice. Viewing on the computer or printing makes you appreciate it. The gprs is great and even better when you use it as a modem. It achieves speed of 114 kbps. The ear phone volume and sound are the best I've ever experienced. Although the video is low quality, for the price it's okay. The cons: the battery tends to run out too soon. I guess it's coz of all the surfing I do. I solved that by getting another battery pack and a universal charger viet directly charges the spare. The buttons also tend to stick in when it's new but once I wore it in it became ok. The joystick also tends to gather dust and becomes unresponsive but vacuuming it fixes the problem. The 28MB memory is a bit low and having no provision for adding a card makes it necessary to download them often. The internal browser lost it's ability to save web pages to the memory later on so I installed oper a mini. All in all a great phone.

i biought this phone and at first it was ok but after i put on music and pics the memory was full in about 2 seconds, i can fit 4! songs and thats it 4! plus wen it rings its takes ages for the volume to reach an audible sound, half the time i cant recived calls because theres "no signal" even thou im outside and all the signal bars are up and my messages are always full. also the keys are far to small to text and are quite hard so it takes a while texting. over all i would SERIOUSLY recomend spending a bit more money on a much beter phone

DON'T BUY SONY ERICCSON PHONES. The joystick on my K510i has broken after 6 months & it was sent for repair. Sony say it is unrepairable and that this is not covered under the warranty ! To rub salt into the wound I have to pay �10 to get it back from the repair shop. I will not be buying more of their products and I suggest you do the same.

Just bought in 2008 brand new for �40 - Great phone! Still holds its ground 2 years after first release, with more than enough options to the most basic of operations (you can choose to apply the options or not and so are not 'nagged' by them by having to go through loads of screens and saying 'No' to them). Another GREAT addition is the 'INFO' button which explains each operation you highlight, really handy. There are tons of other bits and pieces to keep everyone satisfied. The only downside I've noticed is the small memory , although, this may be upgradeable via mem card...don't know as yet.. For the price it's a total bargain, it works beautifully and without glitch. SONY are always reliable, they are expensive due to the fact they use the highest quality parts and as such are reliable and sturdy (friend put his SONY through a whole wash and spin in the washing machine by mistake - it still worked afterwards!!!

bought this phone last summer - and now looking for a different one, wish I'd stayed with Samsung! the camera on it is good and holds lots of pics. BUT after a while the bottom buttons stopped working - hard to dial new numbers when you haven't got a 0! and sometimes it takes forever to send a text. the key lock facility has also stopped working - if you lock the keys, you cannot unlock them again. not keeping it much longer!

Had the phone for a year or more and yeah okay it's not the best, but it is good enough for texting, having a few songs and i do have a few good photos on it too. The joy stick is only just starting to get a little rubbish but then i have had it for a while and use it alot. I'm really happy with it and it still works well :)

This phone is fantastic with loads of features and a great 1.3 mega pixel camera. Not to mesion this phone seem indestructable it survies being dropped on concrete from quite a hight, a good soak in boiling hot water, a bath in liqiud nitrogen and it even sustained a flame thrower. So if you are looking for a phone thats tough phone thats doesn't cost a tough price this Sony Ericsson K510i is the one to buy.

hi i have had this fone for 1year. i think the usability is BRILLIANT but the analog stick isnt. i bought mine for my birth day 2nd march and i had NO problem. untill now i was very carful and didnt kill it or nout but the analog and the screen jus broke. i bought a new screen and it did the same again. it has a rubbish camra (its a phone not a 8mpcamra thou) so it kk.the bloothuth is brilliant to use easy on and off at a touch of a button. the infared port is easy to use again good. it has REALY BRILL sounds verry loud. the bad thing is that the memory is RUBBISH. i would say if you are a person that likes it easy then but this phone if not then dont. MY PHONE BROKE ON THE FIRST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!. AND NO IT WASNT FAULTY AT THE BEGINING so there y go thats my point. hope this helps :) i am buying a samsung 2daii but if this doesnt work i am buying a new k510i because it is brilliant

I've had this phone less than a year - 7 months to be exact, and the joystick has given up. this is extremely frustrating, and so far as i know, nothing can be done about it. I had a previous model and the joystick died after a year or so. I will be replacing this phone tomorrow morning as i can't read messages, can't SEND messages, or really do anything that requres movement or change in options on a menu... RUBBISH.

I've had the phone a month and am impressed with it so far. To get a camera and short videos in a phone for �40- is impressive. I plan to use it overseas ( New Zealand)using Virgin network and wonder if anyone has had problems with the triband side of things. I can see that the joystick could be a problem as it needs to be used so much.

This fone is alryt, I think it could do with a bit more memory because it has only managed to hold three songs and a couple of photos. The other thing I don't really like about it, is the navigation button because i can't use it properly. But if you want a phone with all the features, I recommend this one.

I've had this phone for about a year, and it has performed excellently. The memory size and battery life can be better, but I knew the limitations when I bought this phone, so it wouldn't be fair to complain about it. The phone has worked flawlessly the entire year. Only glitches it ever had were: 1. occasionally goes into "emergency calls only" mode even though network has signal 2. phone book browsing by typing first few letters of the name has a problem in some of the letters. Regardless of these two weaknesses, I'm very pleased with the unit. It. My old Nokias started acting up early on, this one has survived a few falls and still keeps going.

This is a well good fone it does everything and isnt expensive its got Bluetooth,infrared,mp3,some free memory,screensaves and lots more ! that means there is so much on the fone i cant be bothered to type it all !!!!! I would recomend this fone to evry 1!!!!

I have used k510 i since 2007 january.sound is excellent.but memory isnt enough.fm radio also not avalable.now im regret about this phone.because sony ericsson W200i is better than k510i and it is very cheap and also can use memory cards.

Not bad for a basic phone low budget phone and stylish too. Calender, Alarm is good, not too bothered about camera, hardly use it so its ok. BUT, if you're a texting person like me and you even drop the phone once it becomes less usable and slow. Also I personally find the keys not as good to text from as nokias. I've had it over a year now so it's served me well. But I text faster than the letters actually load which means I have to go bk and edit it all (very frustrating for someone who texts a msg in less than 30 seconds and it at least takes me 3 minutes now). Also takes ages to go to e.g. messages. Otherwise, pretty gd and has nice bright colour screen (so not low res and pixelly) I recommend to those who take better care of their phones and don't drop it!

hiya i bought this fone about a year ago and a word of advice DONT but it if you want a music fone go for the sony ericson walkmans. But if you wanted an average mobile buy this one. On it just now i have six 3megabite songs, 53 pics and one video plus 7 games! GOOD BITS: the fone is very simple to work and the battery life is VERY good. The cameras great for a 1.3 megapixl. The games that you get with it are decent. You can make your own folders. It dosen't scratch easily. Comes with a USB cable. BAD BITS: thefone memory is really BAD. after a few months the fone wont switch on but just go to where you bought it and get a new battery(for free i went to virgin media in Glasgow Fort.) the fone screen cracks if you sit on it. the bluetooth take a while to pick up other bluetooths. THIS MOBILE IS A DECENT PRICE AND VERY GOOD IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE STORING MUCH ON IT, BUT DONT GET IT IF YOU WANT A REALLY LARGE MEMORY. THANKS FOR READING! LINDA XXX

It's a good phone with LOADS of features such as: a camera, video player, voice recorder, bluetooth, music DJ and much more! However the memory is RUBBISH and you can only fit 3 short songs on the MP3 Player! For the first year that I had this phone it was great, but after 1 year it started freezing and the battery said it was empty when I had just charged it up! I don't really like the style of this phone, I like flip or slidey phones the best, that's why I'm getting the Samsung E250v for christmas! But don't get me wrong it's a good phone! (Kinda)

It's a good phone with LOADS of features such as: a camera, video player, voice recorder, bluetooth, music DJ and much more! However the memory is RUBBISH and you can only fit 3 short songs on the MP3 Player! For the first year that I had this phone it was great, but after 1 year it started freezing and the battery said it was empty when I had just charged it up! I don't really like the style of this phone, I like flip or slidey phones the best, that's why I'm getting the Samsung E250v for christmas! But don't get me wrong, it is still a very good phone!

I got this phone Phones 4u yesterday for �40, including �10 calltime, yesterday on the Orange network. It was a quick replacement for my Motorola L6 which has started getting memory issues after a year. I actually paid slightly less for this than the L6 and I must say I'm highly impressed so far. Sure, it doesn't have every feature I could think of but for �40, who am I to complain? It is the best phone I have owned so far and the range of features is, nonetheless excellent. The user interface is clean and fast and highly intuitive, it has great connectivity, a highly useable 1.3Mp camera and I can even set it up to access my pop3 email if i get around to doing so. So what if it doesnt have a huge amount of memory? If I want to store a lot of songs then I would just buy an MP3 player instead. This is a �40 phone, remember. Not only that it is very stylish looking(mine came in "Seductive Red" which is possibly my favourite colour for a phone, so far). The only thing that worries are some of the reliability issues other people have mentioned in reviews, but time will tell there. Overall though, a great, feature rich, classy looking phone at an outstanding price. Probably the best phone I've seen for this kind of money. Highly recommended.

Not as amazing as it seems. The joystick starting breaking after about 9 weeks. I requested a new joystick and 2 weeks later, that one broke aswell. It became virtually unusable. The camera, is a let down. Memory could be a lot bigger.

this is a pretty good phone in most aspects... except for the joystick.. my phone is less than a year old (unfortunately out of warranty) but the joystick now refuses to operate most of the time, making it almost impossible to navigate around the menus. IMO this is a serious fault as it makes the phone pretty well useless. This phone has been well looked after too.

A decent phone, but only recently had a problem with it. Whenever i try to make a call to another mobile it doesnt even ring and then disconnects. I keep trying to send messages and get the error tone "Sending Failed". I been trying to think of reasons why it may not work: (a) Virgin Network (b) Received a bluetooth "Good_Luc.." from an unknown sender, but didn't accept it. Could this cause a problem? Its a useful phone, but isn't the most flashest.

My Sony Ericsson K510i is a wonderful companion. With its powerful camera output and music, I truly appreciate this. One improvement from the K300i I earlier owned is that I am able to enjoy and share my photos with friends and family. I can even take video clips, and synchronising is amazing. I am able to save my phonebook and thus, avoid the agony of rebuilding the book if the phone is lost. The lightweight and slim body makes it easy to fit in any hand-held purse. The volume readjusts to the maximum required decibels, therefore, no worries about loud ringing tones or damage to the eardrum. The schedule, tasks and alarm tones are spectacular - I can go about my buisness knowing I have a dependable assistant who ensures I miss no appointments. Sony Ericsson, keep up and continue churning out the best; nothing can beat the Sony Ericsson team. I love and trust in the Sony Ericsson products!

Fab little phone...looks good, does what it says on the tin - makes calls and sends texts...the camera's ok, but then if you want to take great shots buy a camera!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to spend around �50 on a PAYG phone...and I love the 'Jungle Salsa' ringtone, I use it as my morning wake up alarm :)

I have been a Nokia fan for last 10 years. I bought this phone 2 weeks back. It is a good phone though it has non expandable 28 mb of memeory. can not save more than 6 or 7 mp3, however I am not using it as a ipod so does not bother me. it is good phone in which has feature like blue tooth, 1.3 mp camera, 256 k colour TFT for a very reasonable prize. Nokia phone would cost more to get the same features.

Must agree it is a very nice and stylish phone. Very dissapointed with the the small amount of memory available. Often having to dump files so you can load other Picture or Music files. Could have used a SIM slot to expand memory capabilty. If it was expandable would have used it for longer, probably dump and upgrade this XMAS. Battery is rubbish and needs replacement I am sure others have experienced the same problem.

I recently bought a sony ericsson K510i. It is easy to use. It is a nize size. The keys are easy to navigate. The font is a good size. Takes good pictures. I haven't used any of the other features so I can't comment on that. I have had this phone for a month and am really happy with it.

Got this phone at Christmas and have been really impressed with it. Have always had Nokias until now and must say I'm now sold on Sonys because of their user-friendliness. Calendar functionality and PC software that comes with it (so you can stick all your info in Microsoft Outlook)is great. Big disappointment though is that the joystick has gradually stopped responding to the point where it won't do anything now.

I've got this phone. im only 11 years old so i dont have that much money but its amazing. although its old 28mb is all i need. I have an mp3 but 6 songs are enough for school il just change em everynight the camera is alright and i am definatly getting sony ericssons for the rest of my life

I've had this phone for over 8 months and overall it is a good phone. The memory is too small for any music really but it does ok for taking a lot of pictures (providing u don't use the large image size). My main problem with it is the joystick, I keep my phone in my pocket a lot of the time and I'm not sure if thats the reason but my joystick gets a lot of fluff underneath it which stops it working properly, this is very annoying when the only way to scroll through a text is by using the joystick!! I am glad to see sony has got phones on the market without the joystick and I am planning on buying one of them next.

Ignore tai tai, considering they can spell neither memory nor rubbish, I wouldn't take advice on buying a phone from them. What phone you want really depends on what you are looking for in a phone, although the memory is disappointing you can still put videos and songs on there, its good if you want just 2 or 3 songs to have as ringtones. You can delete the preloaded song already on there. The camera is surprisingly good, when you upload them onto the computer you will find the quality of the picture is impressive. I bought it on Vodafone, although their rates can be more than some such as T-Mobile, Vodafone Live works well on the phone, you can get live news, sports results and some other bits for free. The areas you need to pay for are clearly marked with a pound sign next to it. Its also good for downloading songs, games and some other things. Back to the phone, it has the usual vibrating alert, which works well, a ringtone maker, a photo editor, digital zoom, th e camera mode has Sepia, Solarize and black and white for effects, as well as the possibilty of frames. You can also video with such effects minus the frames. When the keypad is locked, if you press the wrong button to try and unlock it the right button is backlit, and when you've pressed the right button the next button you need to press to unlock lights up also, good for dark situations with bad visibility. The speaker is incredibly good, very clear considering how loud you can get it. Great for dancing randomly down the street listening to "Can't Touch This" By MC Hammer. Text input is very easy, especially because of the keys, I have tested it on my girlfriend who has very small fingers and on my Dad who's fingers are massive and both could input text easily. Can choose either T9 or normal input modes. Has Photo ID, can hide your phone number. Comes with 2 games: Quadra Pop(Similar to Tetris) and Minigolf. Has Bluetooth, Infrared and USB capabilities. The screen is clear , and the phone build is strong. The only archilles heel is the joystick-like button which gives you the capability to get into the main menu. This broke on mine, however, I fell of my bike and landed straight on my phone, which partially damaged this (there was visible damage). It gave up 4 months later. Having landed directly on my phone going at about 20 Km/h, everything else still worked fine, only aesthetic damage. Should you buy it? It depends on what you want.

The best phone- the biggest letdown: Let me explain, I bought this phone for �100 last christmas, and it served me well, it did absolutely everything- undeniably the best phone I've ever had. However- recently the joystick button gave up, and no longer works. I still give a 5 star rating, however, because if you take good care of it, it could last a long time.

i have not even got this yet and I Love it!!! I just ordered Mine from ebay.ca. I am 17 and this phone appears to be the best phone on the market that is within my budget. I do not need all that much memory because I use my ds lite for portable internet and portable Msn messenger. I aM currently typing this on my ds lite now btw. i also have an mp3 player for music. i do not see why peopLe cannot carry a phone and an mp3 player with them I mean that they are both becoming quite small so it is no big deal. this phone does what is is set out to do, and that is to be a phone, and a very nice one at that. games for phones are afew kb each, so get 100 of those with the memory on the k510i, and keep yourself busy with. i however will stick with my dslite.

I had this phone for a week... Worst phone ever!!! I had reseption problems with mine I was told was rare with any Sony the batt life was nasty No Expandable memory FM Radio the buttons stuck from the get-go even in the store I asked and the sales rep found it was the faseplate so she swaped it out with another phones plate... the back batt cove kept slidding off all the time that was a real problem... Infact the only good things I liked about the Phone was the size of the butons to the size of the phone the sound and the depth of screen colour was real good for a phone in it's price range... This Phone was returnd to the "Dog pound" and traded in for the Z710i Now there is a phone. I gave this 3 Stars Because as the Phone I had was just a ball of misstakes I know the phone on average dose what it does very well and alot of time was put into the phones planning. And for a phone at its price range I would say any kid or young person would love to have this phone under the tree with thier name on it. In the real working world it just world cut it for me.

hmmmmm well this is my first se phone i have used nokia, motorola, samsung before .. well i have used se also but this is first one of my own .. and i just love it camera is superb for this price screen is excellent though because of low resolution there is problem with java games..i just loved se user interface much more good looking than nokia. and user friendly as well ( unlike motorola who have worst user interface) the only bad thing i found is battery backup it is not as good as nokia battery lasts for 2 days on nomial it is not bad but not excellent as nokia's everything else is fine i just love my first camera phone cheers !!!!!!!!!

dont buy this phone the phone froze up couldnt txt n had to go threw the main menu to make a phone call and it only scroled up now down when txting i could only txt using some letters and then the phone wouldnt switch off and the camera isnt up 2 much

I've had this phone for well over a year now - its all you need in a phone really - if you want better pics then buy a camera and if you want to listen to more music then buy a mp3 player! Phone has just started to freeze and turn off though, but as i mentioned - is over a year old!!

I had this mobile phone for my birthday last month and i'm bored of it already. The games aren't very good and it is'nt as easy as they say when it comes to transferring music from my laptop to my phone. I don't think i would recommend it to anyone but if you do decide to try it for yourself don't buy it from Argos because it doesn't come under their 30 day money back guarantee. Although, as the review says, you get a lot for your money with this phone. I have got one major concerns with all the sony ericssons i have had in this price range. Is it just me being unlucky or do these phones regularly develop faults with the joystick controller in the middle of the phone, mines just packed up AGAIN. and i cant navigate thru the phone properly without it. So i'm now going to have to buy another new handset. Sorry Sony, but i'm going back to my Nokias, never had any probs with them.

I have one Sony Ericsson K510i. I'm very happy with him. He isn't expensive, but he has all things, that are need to you - 1,3 mpxl camera, video, and all that. I'm not happy for one - you cant't expand his memory by meory cards. Oderwise, he's GREAT!

I would reccomend this phone to everyone but if you use up your memory with songs DO NOT be tempted to buy it. With only a memory capacity of 28MB and no expandable memory is a defienate weakness

I bought this phone in early February. In the first week itself, I've already encountered problem with the speakers. Well, I'm patient about it. However, the following week, the screen started to give problems. It would just hang or screen with funny signs appear. Though it is still working when i off it and on it back, some times I still encounter the same problem which needs me to off it again.

I have the k510i. When i got it i was disappointed that you couldn't upgrade the memory. But it is a really great phone for a few reasons: Its small and lite. The camera is good. Extremely fast Bluetooth And the pc to phone is a great thing to have. All in all, this would be a perfect phone for someone who took a lot of pictures and does a lot of texting.

this is a great phone, it does everything a modern phone should do and mine was dirt cheap. it has some flaws,the screens not always bright enough and the camera could be better but who really cares!

I bought one a few days ago and am a long time Sony mobile user - my K508i was stolen and this poor student has been using a basic borrowed Nokia for two years :-). I would like to upgrade to the 800 but need to wait a little longer financially, so this model seems a good halfway measure. It is still so popular, I had to drive 90km to get one. Only a few things annoy me that slow me down while writing text messages: 1) I have to switch fingers or sides from left to right to insert a smiley or symbol. The entire process should be seamless with one thumb/ finger. Cumbersome and very annoying. 2) The output font size when writing text is way too big. We should at least have the option of making it smaller so nosey people don't read our messages over our shoulders. 3) The keypad seems heavier than Nokia and Motorola, and tends to drag. It seems to take forever to write a message, and I'm being realistic here. It really shouldn't take me a minute to compose a simple sentence. I haven't bothered with the T9 dictionary, it only slows things down further. 4) Not sure I can transfer my messages to PC (I keep some of them). I think not, that would be a great feature. Motorola allow it. Camera: 1Mpx is very handy, I bought this knowing it was not going to be my main camera. They are grainy Profiles: I would like to change the "incoming message" sounds for each profile, but I can't. The options are either silent or lower/raise the entire phone's volume. Nokia has a halfway 'discreet' profile, so you can have a quiet ringtone but silent message tone. Apart from the niggles of writing a text message, I am quite happy with it. I was realistic it is a mid-range model and it is a great one to have. Good advice someone else said: get a cover immediately, the plastic film comes off within a few hours, I am already using sticky tape to keep it on while waiting for a cover to arrive from Ebay. I got a k510i for my 13th birthday and it is and exellent phone i would suregest to people that they should buy one i have now hade it for nearly 3 months now and has been all i have ever needed. My friends have more glamourous phone but thats not what you wont when you go to school because it could get nicked. im not saying this is a rubbish phone because it's not. The screen is exellent, everything basicly iss outstandingly good.

i just got this phone about 3 weeks ago. I love it. The memory is on the small side, but how often do you use the media player!If you want a full media player get an ipod video. It is very easy to use and gets very good reception. The only downside is that it doesn't have an earphone jack. Overall I am very satisfied with the phone.

This phone is good if u just want a cheap and cheerful way to make calls and txts, but for anything else its absolutely RUBBISH! The camera isnt that good and the night mode doesnt even make a difference. The memory is rubbish and you will struggle to keep a few songs, pictures,and videos. overall i would just save up for a bit longer and gt a better phone.

The phone is great, has everything you need. My only problem with it is the memory size with no facility to expand it, hence only giving 3 stars. So if you're not too bothered about holding loads of songs or pictures then it's a great phone.

I TOTALLY LOVE IT!! cute, small and light phone! If your looking for a cheap phone with moderate features this is the phone for u!! Looks great and even though it's not the top of the range phone I was quite impressed with the no. of features on it! The camera is not bad either! Good value for money!

Great phone, but shame about the memory. 28MG doesn't seem enough, and u can't buy a separate memory card for it or delete some of the really rubbish wallpapers on there. Recommend to those who like a nice phone, but don't want songs on it.

every thing is ok with my K510i. But it is better if it could give mr the feature to reduce the font size of sms editor. I thing the font size given is too larfe for a normal user. If any one knoe how to redused the font size please let me know.(dattha@msn.com) and also I wanna know how to confgure the internet syncronozation in the orginser menue and how to gmail with my K510i. This was a good phone until it started freezing after a month and is now totally dead only three months after purchasing. According to an oh so helpfull orange assistant if you store over 30 text messages despite the fact it can hold 200 the phone will freeze shame no one botherd to tell me that before a wasted all my money on it!!RUBBISH DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Reading some of the reviews, there are a lot of complaints about the momory, all I have to say is, What phone has more memory and is the same price? Of course the K750 is better, IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE. Anyways, the camera is average, speaker is average, dropped it twice (onto ceramic tiles and onto tarmac) and still works fine. It doesn't lag (except for the first 3 secs when you turn it on). I've had this phone for 7 months now and the joystick still works perfectly (unlike the older SE models, *cough* K700 *cough*). Never had any problems with this phone. As I said above, is there a phone that has more than 28MB memory at the SAME (or less) price?

The sonyericsson (black)) looks really fancy. For me it's nearly perfect as it has a 4x digital zoom camera and video recorder, bluetooth which is easy- to-use. The music palyer is nice and loud and again easy-to-use. However when it comes to texting it's not so good. The buttons are stiff and slow texting down a lot. The phone only comes with 20mb which can only fit about 5 long songs on +pictures. :(. the sony ericsson k510i is a great phone cause it's got a 1.3 megapixel camera where you can take great photos share them with your friends and you can save the pictures to your phone. The screen resolution is great with a 262k colour screen it's great for recording video clips video playback where you can watch your great videos over and over again. And it's also got a great MP3 Player where you can download your favourite songs and listen to them all day long and it also has polyphonic ringtones where you can download your favourite music ringtones and listen to them. The sony ericsson k510i has also got other great features i haven't got time to go into all the great features so i recomend this phone to anyone who's looking for a new one so go on the phone website and see what you think whether you waant this phone or not so with the Sony Ericsson k510i and it's great features you would not want to change this phone for quite a long time when you get it. I had a K300i which had a joy stick failure - upgraded to K510i for Blue tooth - joystick failed & 2 keys not working. Both repaired under warranty. Is it me or is here a weakness? Nice phone @�60 PAYG but will prabably retuen to the Nokia fold for my next phone

I bought this phone a month ago. It operates well, looks good, the screen and colors are good, the camera indeed is quite good for its range. Some minuses might be the very short battery life. One of the reasons I thought I d like this phone was the claimed 7 hrs talk lifetime of battery but it barely lasts 2 days with very little use of phone (even after proper formating), just like most new generation Nokia phones. Another downside so far is the back cover which can come off very easily (if you drop the phone you might have to search for several scattered parts all over the place - unlike Nokias, which are much more compact in this respect). Another good idea might be either the replacement of the joystick system (which in this case at least enhances the "slippery" of many intended actions - like dialling by mistake) or its improvment eventually by making it much firmer and stable. Otherwise, the phone is acceptable for its range, also recommended for the price+ quality rapport.

This is an excellent phone for its money, megapixel camera, bluetooth, mp3 player, and it only costs �59.99 on T-Mobile from argos !! if you want a great phone and are on low budget make sure you buy this, i have a samsung d500 and i am soon going to replace it with this !!

A rare phone that offers so much for so little... It's a shame that the quality of the rear mask is soo low, and sound could be better when playing mp3. It's menu is also somewhat chaotic, it lacks converter in Apps, but u can always install Java application that will do the same job. A question for ppl out there: did anyone managed to use BT remote function to control windows media player, for example?

i actually bought this fone out of the blue. i was going to buy a sagem myX6-2 but i couldnt find 1 anywhere! everything about the K510i is amzin and definately to my standard! i honestly dont know why i didnt buy this phone sooner! every single feature on this phone is wicked! the sleek, slim design, the quality of the calls (well, this may be network-dependant), and the fact you can actually get music onto it. ok, the memory may not be to everyones standard, but what do you use a fone for?! calling people, maybe?! not am MP3 player! if you want an MP3 player, buy 1! although i am chuffed with its features myself! ive only had this phone for 4 days, i bought it for �59.99 and before this phone i had an LG U8120 - which i didnt like much - it didnt have am MP3 player or anything like what this fone has. i love it to bits and i will keep hold of the K510 for ages!! well done Sony Ericsson - keep up the good work!

it is really good for my liking. i bought it on saturday and i already have a few songs my mates have sent me via bluetooth. ive mucked up already though, i did a master reset and it deleted all but 1 of my ringtones!! and i want them back! :'( but every colour combo makes it look stunning! mine is the 'polished purple' one. i love it! i would recommend it for just about anybody - even those who want a flashy, expensive phone with all the latest features

Although K510i is good and smart set for consumer but i think its memory is too small. If it contains a memory card then it becomes a wonderful product for consumer at this price. Thanks Zahid Aziz

However, the only thing that is stopping me from buying it is th memory (28mb). i reacently bought this phone and i must say for the money it is THE best phone. Even though it doesnt have any flash the camera is excellent. If you upload it onto a computer you can just see how great the camera is. Even though its an excellant phone it doesnt even cost that much. Iguess the only downside is that there is a lack of memory.

I've now had the K510i for a month, and I'm very pleased with it. With Bluetooth, 1.3 Mega Pexel Camara and Video Capture It was everything I was looking for on a phone. People have critisied the memory but you get what you pay for. This phone cost me �59.99 and holds 7 songs. Which is good value for money. Nice phone, strongly recommended.

This ones a great phone for its price and features. I didn't encounter any problems with my unit. its in excellent condition. Great mp3 player too. Just need to lower the kbps to fit more songs though. Had 22 songs in it with 4mb to spare. I just don't like the clock when screen turns off. can hardly read it. And when your outside in the hot sun, screen is barely readable. Other than that its a great phone. If your expecting too much buy the high SE units like w810i or nokia N series. But for my tight budget this phone is perfect.

Got this phone only yesterday, but i'm always a fan of trying a new brand of phone, and i've gone through enough to know that this is good, i've tried every function and they all work really well, if needed for everyday things like texting perfect, similarly any other features like bluetooth and taking photos- reccomended

Useability: 5/5 Photos: 4/5 Videos: 4/5 MP3: 0/5 - I cannot even fit ONE song onto this phone as the largest amount of memory I can get available is 2.1MB, and that's after deleting almost everything that I can delete. If you want to have a phone with a fairly good camera then I recommend you buy it, however if you want to listen to music I seriously recommend you buy a better phone or an MP3 player as I do not wish anyone to be as frustrated as I am with this phone.

As long as you don't consider this phone as an alternative for an mp3-player or a "real" camera, you'll be more than satisfied with it's features and it's non-expandable memory of 27mb, which is really sufficient to store a few ringtones, images, themes and games. The device has a bright and colorful screen, the interface is intuitive and very responsive. The joystick allows you to browse through the menus really fast, while the keypad is a pleasure to work with as each key gives a solid "click" when you press it. Just a few cons though: 1) the back panel should have been sturdier, it moves a little each time you put pressure on the phone (can be fixed though, by inserting a little piece of paper between the battery and the rear cover) 2) it's a shame you cannot set a timer on the automatic keylock 3) in screensaver mode, you cannot read the clock as the screen goes completely black...

Got this phone with Xmas money couple of days ago and so far i love it. cheap, easy and good camera (even though the pictures look rubbish on the screen theyre good on computer!!) I'd rate this. Got video and camera AND bluetooth & a few songs, for �80 what more could you ask for?? Complainers shouldnt have expected more at this price =]]

well, i just got the phone 4 xmas and was pretty happy with it untill i realised i cant delete any sounds that came with the phone and they take up quite abit of space, the piccy quality is good, has both bluetooth and infared wich is great. lightweight and fits in ya pocket, and yh its pretty gd. a few faults like the memory but hey i can live with it lol. i even drpooed mine in a puddle bout 10cm deep and it didnt break! wht a beast lol. yh if ya gt this it wel gd so yh lol x

Ok... Ive had this phone for about 3 months now... It was alright at first... Then the phone started to turn off by itself... I managed to fix that by glueing the battery in 8)... Just afta that problem i found a new one... After about an hour of charging it says" erorr whilste charging" and if them two wernt bad enogth the navigational buttons up and down have now stopped working so it quite difficault to navigat... All in all, if you have bad luck with phones i wouldnt recmend this one but if the phone works how it should i would recomend it! 8)

I thik this phone is exactly what I look for in a mobile. It works superbly well. Memory is not great, but for MP3 we have iPod, and for photos, there's always Cybershot. That I wouldn't discuss. Just love it, anyway.

I've been a SE fan for several years. Today, I have recommended my niece age 12 to get this phone. After much thought, her mother finally bought the phone for her this noon. I will continue encourage my friends and relatives to use only SE. It's a great brand.
