hmm where to begin, nice camera. (End of positives). I have taken my c905 back to the vodafone shop no less than 6 times in the past 20 months or so for repairs, everything you could pissibly imagine goes wrong with this phone, buttons suddenly stop working, menus suddenly disappear, phone wont turn on, currently the screen is totally gone and i cant even turn my phone on. It takes a while to turn the phone on, and when you try watch videos over the internet, its slow as hell, totally unwatchable. Needless to say this is the last SE i will ever hope to buy, im going with iphone instead. Unless you wana be taking this phone back to the shop every 5 mins for repairs, i suggest you dont buy it.

I have been a fan of Sony for a good 10 years now and have always been loyal to them were the mobile phones are concerned. I have had my C905 for a good 15 months now and all in all it is a very good phone. It has been repaired twice for different faults but the repair service was second to none thanks to The Carphone Warehouse and the phone itself is very good, I use the hands free in the car and the phone is used as an mp3 player linked to my car stereo via an fm transmitter. I have never had any other problems with calling or any other issues apart from the 2 faults that have been repaired, they were the slide ribbon not working and the select button stayed depressed. So all in all it is a great phone. I am going to upgrade next month but unsure as what to go to next and it may have to be a different make and that is only because Sony hasn't got a very good touch tone phone as yet in my oppinion. (Sorry Sony)

This is the worst phone i have ever had. Sent back numerous times due to various faults, replaced with several new handsets which have also broken. I only know 1 other person with this phone and they have had the same problems, sending it back every 2 weeks for another fault. 2 good points - video is ok and it has wifi - but this all depends on if they work. My phone has spent more time at the menders than in my posession, speaker trouble, wifi trouble, message trouble, button trouble, you name it. Its absolutely rubbish! DO NOT GET THIS PHONE YOU WILL REGRET IT! Only gets 1 star as they dont allow you to choose none!

I had the C905 for 4 months before the keys started sticking. I got a immediate replacement from Orange. 3 months after that, I got the same problem - I am not a heavy texter, maybe 10 or so texts per day? This time I had to send it to S.E and it was repaired. Now 6 months down the line, my phone has developed the speaker fault and is totally useless. Now I'm without a phone. Although the camera and interface is good. The faults are just unbelievable. This phone should have been recalled! I have asked for a newer version of the phone from S.E as it's meant to be more reliable. But I haven't heard anything back. Stay clear of this phone - the camera isn't worth all the hassle it comes with.

O2 sent me a replacement C905 and i had the same problem. after they sent me a third phone it was fine for about a month, but when i was browsing on the internet the browser went off and on the home screen of my phone it said 'no ntwk coverage' and the battery picture said it was empty. i tried charging it up but as soon as i plugged the charger in an error medssage came up saying 'cannot charge, you must use a sony ericsson battery'. the battery had all the holograms on it and sony ericsson written all over it. i had too many problems with sony ericsson so ive switched to nokia.

Awful phone. I've had the phone for 7 months. After 2 months I had many troubles with it, the final one being the speaker cutting out. My insurance sent me out a brand new one. Within 2 months of this, the speaker was on and off but the new problem was that I couldn't take or recieve calls, as the phone would just cut out. This time I had my phone repaired via T-Mobile shop, only for the same problems to return, again 2 months in. 2 Weeks after getting it back, the problems returned. Its now needed to be fixed 4 times in 7 months. Aside from all these faults, it has poor battery life, navigation is poor and it has features on the phone that when you try and use, just flat out don't work! Avoid at all costs.

I've had Sony Ericssons for years and I've never had any problems with them... until now. I changed my contract in May and decided on the C905. Mainly because of the history of SE's being good, and because of the camera. Friends had warned me but I didn't listen. Just over a month in and the phone breaks down, doesnt register the battery or load or anything. I have a replacement sent out to me. I have just today [January] taken the phone back to o2 for the fifth time [the replacement that is]and It's nearly always the same fault. But because it isnt exactly the same I don't get offered a new make. When the phone works it's brilliant. The picture quality is fab and I've been to concerts and recorded off it and the sound quality has turned out better than my camera. But roll on November this year when I can finally change the model. I WONT be going back to Sony Ericsson, thats for certain!

I give this phone a 3 rating because all the features on the phone is very good. The camera and video quality is very good. However, it is riddled with faults. Expect anything to go wrong from the speaker, mic, keypad, charger and slider. I've just had to have mine sent away for a 6th repair! They usually replace the handset with a new one each time but it still develops something wrong. The one I've just sent away had the keypad actually disconnect from the phone. Like it didn't have enough glue or something. I couldn't believe that. Well enough is enough. I'm going to contact customer service standards or citizens advice bureau and look at getting a refund as I bought the phone and am pay as you go.

Previously had a Samsung G600, which I hated - this one is a dream in comparison.

Got mine on contract with Orange just over 1 year ago when the phone was new to the market. I was an upgraded from a K810i. I liked the C905's still camera (which is superb for a camera-phone), the WiFi connection & the greatly improved menu navigator control. Like many users however, I took an immediate dislike to the flat keypad which I struggled to text quickly with. Video mode is frustrating as the audio quality is v.good but the image is v.poor. First thing that went wrong with my C905 was that the battery life dramatically reduced after 3 months. It would go flat within 24hours without use. Orange replaced the battery & so far, so good. Just last month however, the dreaded earpiece fault occured. After being shoddily passed between Orange & SE, I have finally been instructed to send my C905 to SE for repair under its 2 year warranty. Unfortunately for me, I don't have a backup handset & Orange no longer provide loan handsets so I will have no phone meantime. O range rather smuggly told me they no longer sell the C905 due to the large number of returns they had with it. Thanks for that. This will probably be my last SE phone & it will certainly be my last one with Orange.

I keep having to have mine replaced due to the poor signal it receives. It will jump from no bars to full bars when i'm stationary. Extremely frustrating and I am now on my 5th handset from Orange so clearly it is a problem with the actual design rather than a malfunctioning unit. Luckily I have free orange care so I haven't had to pay for the new handsets but I would not reccomend this handset to anyone unless you are prepared to pay for it to be repaired, wait months for the repair and continuously back up your data everytime something goes wrong with it. Hope someone finds this brief but honest review to be of use!!!

Great features on phone - would be probably the best camera phone out if it would actually WORK!!! I've had approx five months use out of it and THREE TIMES it's broken down - first time it froze and when I restarted it, it wouldn't recognise SIM card nor network signal and was locked to what appeared to be an eastern-European language. Sent it back to be repaired and it worked fine following that for a few weeks and then internet access stopped working altogether on the handset. I performed a master reset which fixed it and then a few weeks later the screen packed in. I've now given up on the handset and am purchasing the C902! AVOID THE C905!!!

I had a Nokia N96 for a week and hated it, so I swapped it for a new SE C905. It WAS a good phone for 4 months, until the speaker stopped working, and now I have to use the loudspeaker to hear people. This is really poor on Sony's part. Obviously the speaker failure rate is huge, so Sony must be using cheap Chinese speakers or something. I wont be buying another Sony phone after this fiasco. The camera isnt even that great- most of the time it takes grainy photos and zooming in only makes them worse. I had a Motorola with a 2 megapixel camera that took better photos than this lump of overhyped junk does. Thumbs down :(

The only problem - i'm now on my 3rd handset in 12 months due to the speaker failing. I'm sure it would actually have been more handsets than this had i not held on to the faulty handsets for months at a time waiting for a good time to put it in for repair. The phone itself is very good, but the common fault of the speaker, which is very obvious if you read the reviews below, means you should steer clear.

Firstly it is an amazing camera. The 8.1 megapixel has enabled me to take photos of bees, butterflies and things alike and successfully zoomed in to fill the screen crop/edit without no breakdown in the picture. They are perfect in my eyes. More flash options would be nice. I have not found an option to force the flash on for a fill in flash. The only bad thing is the lens cover/slider. It should have had a grip surface as I often struggle to open it. It has a good media player though I am no expert in the quality of the player it sounds very good through my Shure SE 530 (I think they are) head phones. It would be nice if the volume could be turned down a bit more. before the sound goes off. I hate using it for internet because of the screen size. Just something to get used to I suppose. It can not cope with applications on Facebook. I guess Sony has developed a number of of problems wit this phone and I had several. Luckily my phone was under the Orange Warranty and I had it replaced within 24 hours. My last replacement was the Sony Warranty. I had to wait a number of day's for it's return. My main hate is the charger/headphone socket position. It's on the left side and as I have just the use of my left hand, I struggle to type with it when it's charging and it's just not a sensible postion for when the headphones are in place as its an obstruction. It takes an M2 memory card. I am very pleased with the phone and lost without it. I will look forward to Sony's next in line. Oh and of course it's a phone, :-) It works!! Its a juggle between 3 a and 4 stars

I've just got my phone back from the repair shop who say that it is beyond repair. How? Well I must have got it damp. So if you have one of these don't take it outside. Oh, it's a mobile phone you're after.... The internet connection is slow and, for all intenets and purposes, useless. Don't expect it to be an Apple or a Blackberry - more a gooseberry. The GPS and other frills comes with a large extra bill, so get a tom tom it will be much better. The radio is good. You have to use the headphones, but the sound quality is good - just as long as you aren't on the move, then it is really rubbish. The video, I have never got it to work. In any case you'll probably be charged extra for it. The WIFI connection has never managed to connect, the blue tooth is not as good as my old Sony Erisson phone (9 years old). It feels like they used the same chip anyway. The software vitually shut my computer down it took so much memory. To sum up: It tries to do too much and fails at everything except the camera. If you want a camera-phone, are only going to use the phone indoors and want lots of extras that you will never use - there must still be better phones than this.

The first 2 times, the ear piece died, I couldn't hear anything unless I was using hands free or on speaker phone. My service provider then replaced the handset for me. I had the new phone for all of 3 days before the same fault occured. The 4th time, the same screen would not activate at all and the 5th time, when pushing the "3" button during text messaging, the message clears what ever you've written and throws you back to the main screen. Unfortunately I've got another 14mths on the contract with this phone... only to live in fear there are further errors as the warranty expires in 2mths time. Sony would not come to the party when I asked for an extended warranty, their overall product and customer service is poor.

Just had the N95 8GB which was great and upgraded to the SE905 in Feb. I just wanted a stronger phone that was smaller and a decent camera I could take when I road ride in a pocket and it does the trick. I've had enough of dodgy applications but SE has teh option of doing lots of things liek email push, messenger and skype. Bit small for video but if you want a phone that has hardly any delay lag time but with the options of other apps like browsing, goog maps etc then this is great. Want to plan your life and fiddle with the phone 24/7-don't buy this! get the iphone. I did find from 3UK that they locked the phone so I couldn't delete applications like Pac man or who wants to be a millionair games... I've got used to the key pad and finding things on the phone is easy. 2 Weeks ago I had the dreaded speaker fault and had my phone collected and delivered back to me in 2 days repaired which was quick.

All in all this camera was exactly what I wanted in a new phone, and I specifically waited for it to come out before I renewed my contract. The camera is excellent (for a phone-cam), I take a lot of video clips using it and it performs well 9/10 times (sometimes it records for between 10 and 30 seconds but then just stops...) Anyway my main uber gripe... the bluetooth feature on this is absolutely shocking. I have a k800 for work and the bluetooth on that connects to my cars built in BT with no hassle and works flawlessly. When I use this, it is constantly dropping and reconnecting, despite having a 1/2m line of sight to the bluetooth antennae in the car. If your parked up and trying to send a text its impossible as you get constant screen warnings when it disconnects and reconnects (for no reason). My mates N82 works perfect also so its just this phone. I need the connection as Im so busy I need to be on the phone when driving. With regards to the usability, menus are great, nothing quirky or out of the ordinary and foir SMS has a great 'conversation' feature linking all sent and received message for 1 contact on the same screen with inline message creation-just so you dont forget to answer something. Phone cam is great:amazing quality for stills (sport mode aint that great...need a proper SLR to get decent action stills...bring on xmas). Colours are rich with minimal fringing on high contrast borders. Performs very well in low light too-using the flash does ruin pics tho (to be expected:its only a phone-cam), its a single all illuminating bang - just too bright for portrait night shots. Ive not used the GPS features really. Its got a good sport mode. I wouldnt say the responsiveness of it is particularly slow, my last w850 was far slower. The main thing is it flashing up annoying warning messags when you mistype - I wish that could be turned off as it just interferes with my use of the keypad. I have to wait a second for the message to go, when I could have been done and gone-especially when it cant find a word in the dictionary. Headphones are to be desired (fortunatly I had a w850i before this with the walkman phones so I use that when listening to music on it). PC connectivity is a strange one. I had to reinstall the drivers 3-4 times to get the connection going reliably. In terms of build quality...hmmm... after 12 months, Im on my 3rd handset...and this one is starting to get a bit iffy. Everytime the ear-piece speaker has given out. But also the screen just died one time, and so did the keypad. Now Im exceptionally careful with my phones, always in a case, or if in my pocket then nothing else in that pocket. Never drop them, or leave them in humid conditions.I guess if I was a bit rougher my handset count would be far higher by now. :D All in all, 3/5 for effort sony, just fix the reliability problems with the next ones, or you will lose customers. Advice to anyone wanting one: dont bother. Wait for the next model, or go back to an uber reliable k800.

I got this phone on my 18 month contract in March 2009, and since then it has been nothing but hassle. I have had 3 replacements for numerous things. The first replacement was that it would not let me answer my calls and when it finally did, the volume was very low so I couldn't hear what the other person was saying. Not ideal. When I also got this replacement, my 25 free picture messages wouldn't send or recieve. Rip off? I think so. The second time was that: 1. the phone wouldn't tell me when I was recieving calls or texts (and the phone wasn't on silent, I keep it on vibrate at least) and on the odd occasion that I did manage to get to the phone in time, it was completely dead at the other end. Again, speaker problems. Sony seriously need to pull their finger out about it as 3 of my friends have all had this problem with the c905. 2.The cancel button wouldn't work so if I was texting a particularly long text and got something wrong, then I would have to exit the message and start again. Very frustrating. 3. The calculator and code memo applications broke - ok, so these aren't essential, but when you're paying £43 a month on a contract you expect the phone to WORK. So this was sent away and replaced, I got this phone back LAST night at 4pm(12/11/09) and didn't use it until 9pm that night, on which I then found out that: 1. it wouldn't go on silent, although it had the icon on the top of the screen. 2. None of my sound settings would save(ring volume- said it was on 0, yet it was actually on full volume. Silent mode was always set to off, keypad tone was stuck on.) Basically every sound setting would not save to what I wanted it as. Not exactly good when your phone goes off in the middle of your 6th form business class, ey? 3. I cannot type a message randomly and select who to send it to(I now have to go onto my message inbox and click reply in order to send a text) as the MIDDLE BUTTON DOES NOT WORK. This also means that I also; cannot access my phonebook which isn't helpful as I can't remember 75 eleven digit numbers. And cannot save any numbers people give me. I have spoke to o2- who are also rip-offs, and seeing as this is my 3rd replacement, they are going to completely change my handset on Tuesday. As I can't use my c905, I'm stuck with my k850i-which I also had FIVE of in 18 months. It's safe to say I will be getting as FAR AWAY from Sony Ericsson as possible.. Want a reason to buy this phone? If you want a good camera. But personally? It's not worth it just for that, Get an actual camera. It'll probably be a better phone than the c905. Note that I had all of these problems in just over 6 months of having the phone.

This phone is nothing but trouble. The only good thing about it is the camera, but if I wanted a camera I would have bought one, not a mobile phone. Typically days after the 28 day warrenty several buttons broke, I had it repaired, but more problems followed. The battery does not hold a charge any longer that a couple of days, it shuts itself down for no reason, sometimes it won;t turn back on, and then randomly turns on without having to enter my pin code! It continually loses settings for internet and photo messgaing, it's happened so many time sthat I have given up reinstalling them. Now the microphone has broken so the phone is useless for making or receiving calls. I'm 7 months in to an 18 month contract and fed up. Even if the phone is repaired there are other things that could go wrong with it, and I have no doubt that it will break again, and again, and again. Apparently This phone has been discontinued by SE. That's great for prospective owners - they've be en saved the hassle of owning a C905, but hwat about the rest of us who have been supplied with a faulty handset and are continually fobbed off with repairs? I don't want a repair, because I do not believe it will solve the problem, or restore my faith in SE!

First off speaker broke after three weeks, the day i got it back the sim card reader broke and kept saying sim not recognised, three weeks later all the applications just decided to stop working for no apparent reason and reinstalling them proved pointless as it just kept saying operation failed, the final time i sent it back was due to the sound being muffled when i was speaking to other people on it. The ONLY redeeming feature on this phone was the camera, i have since gotten rid and its put me off Sony Ericsson alot after being a loyal customer. I've had my phone for a good few months and I have noticed a few bugs with it. The screen occasionally freezes, especially when I am on a call that I want to hang up- say I've got someone's voicemail and don't want to leave a message- it won't allow me to hang up for 10-20 seconds. Another problem is when I go from a no signal area to somewhere with signal and the phone doesn't automatically pick up the new signal, I have to reboot it by taking the battery out and THEN it will find a signal. I could live with all this but now the earpiece has gone (ie I can only hear people on calls if it's on loudspeaker or hands free) which I understand is a common fault. As I use my phone for work quite a bit this is obviously inconvenient. Carphone Warehouse have said they will send the phone off for repairs, but I don't want it repaired as I'm fed up with the phone- will be going for a different make next time even though my last 3 phones have been sony.

Good camera and good phone, well it would be a good phone if it could survive longer than about 2 weeks without something going wrong. I was really excited about getting this all singing, all dancing, meant to be amazing phone BUT like most people a month or so after getting the phone, it went wrong. Whilst I was away from home, and really needed a phone, the audio went. Standing in the middle of London/at a busy tube station, with your mum on speaker phone for the whole world to hear is not ideal but unfortunately it was the only way I could communicate. I telephoned O2 when I got home, who told me I needed to contact Sony. I sent my phone off to Sony, they took about 3 weeks to repair it, it then arrives back with all the data deleted because they claim they cant save it, which is out of order. Its their problem that so many of these phones are going wrong, so why should we lose out and be punished by losing our data. I now have a problem with my number 1 and 2 bu ttons, I have to nearly pierce them with a nail to get them to actually type a letter. I know several people that have had the same/similar and more problems with this phone. Potentially it could be a great phone, unfortunately Sony have really let themselves down on this one! Would not recommend it to anyone. Stick with a decent digi cam and a £20 phone from Tesco!

Broke again March, same ear peace problem, phone had to be sent off again. same phone sent back to me "repaired" Broke again June, this time probs with screen and disappearing apps, was told to try software upgrade, i did, this broke ear peace again. Took phone in, imposter phone again and got brand new phone. just over 3 months later, October and phone was doing fine, had been texting fine, went to show some1 a pic, notice my photos weren't showing up, knowing they were on mem card i looked for them thru files and found them. Figured i'd turn phone on and off to see if it would read memory card again. Turned phone off, said inactive sim, turned off and on again, it turned on in chezch language, with use of internet discovered what language it was and got it into english. Phone had no signal and buttons stopped working altho some worked intermittantly. TEsted sim in other phone, was fine, plenty of signal. Took to shop demanding exchange, wouldn't give me one, suggested trying another software update and if not work ring cust serv and kick off. Software did work but as keys wouldnt work couldn't back up my numbers etc so lost the lot. Also as a result of broken phone i burt my fingers and spilt glass of water over laptop neither of which would have happened if my phone hadn't broken again. Since then, like most of you, the phone developed many faults and was repaired/replaced several times. Finally, I have written a long-winded complaint to O2 which has resulted in me being credited with £100 and they are also sending me a brand new Sony Ericsson W995 (which by all accounts is similar to the C905 but with none of the problems) I am due to u/g with O2 in April and will be staying with them as they handled my complaint extremely well (2 of my friends have now moved to O2 after getting nowhere with their continued C905 faults & complaints on Vodafone) but I would also like to advise everyone that O2 have now WITHDRAWN this handset completely due to the enormous complaints and repairs it has generated. Love this phone, camera is the best out there (both stills and videos top drawer). BUT the earpiece does break, leaving you only the speakerphone as a way of hearing the person on the other end (embarrassing if you're on the train home from work and it's your girlfriend saying how much she loves you). It seems like a common problem: two of the three phones I've owned have had issues with it. No matter how good a camera, they're the sorts of odds that should put off potential buyers.

i got this phone in January 2009, after having dramas with a Samsung g600, then having an ok quality C902. i thought this phone was the bees knees at first. Good pictures, quick, good internet a dream phone. then 4 weeks after getting this phone, the key pad caved in on the right side making it difficult to do anything involving the numbers 3,6,9 # etc before claiming number 5 and 2. so i got a replacement handset. all was well for 2 months with the new handset until the speaker decided to break meaning i could only make calls on loud speaker, very open and non private i must say. so then i got another replacement phone which promptly decided to break so i got ANOTHER replacement handset. Here i am, with my phone that decides to start crashing. Take out your SIM card they tell me at O2 and try it in another phone to see if it is a SIM error, which is what i do. when i put sim back into my phone, all my applications, games, messages are gone, i cannot use the trivial things like the calculator. i decide to let it slide, o2 are not offering me a replacement just a repair. so my half working phone tottles on until yesterday when both the speaker AND the loudspeaker are playing up, then pops back on during a phone call, then break for good. Waiting for a completely different model, fed up, 4 phones in 8 months is shambolic.

This phone looks like it needs a more up to date review. Seems most people had a problem with the earpiece speaker breaking. Aparrently this was due to a weak wire and Sony Ericsson have now sorted it. I had the same problem on my first C905, but it was about 6 months til it happened. I was pretty satisfied with the phone until then. However my next 3 C905's had different software and i had alot of problems with the phone freezing and wouldn't charge etc, which was very disappointing as my k850i was riddled with software faults. After sending back faulty phones i decided to sort it myself and realised its pretty easy to sort out by reinstalling/updating the software on the computer. Been ok for a while now. The camera is good, which is pleasing after the poor camera on the K850i. I do recommend lowering the exposure level a bit though. I dont really understand the other reviewers who said the camera is poor. Its FAR FAR superior to the Nokia N95 and N96. I know someone with an N96 and im really not impressed with the camera at all! She uploads her pics to facebook and they look poor everytime. If anyone's qualified to review this phone i am. I've had it since launch and been through a few of them! I recommend against getting it on from Orange with the Orange branding as it stops the wi-fi and geo-tagging from working. I have the Orange Maps sat nav and its pretty good except it loses satellite connection sometimes which can be annoying, and the volume of the voice instructions isn't loud enough. Texting on it is fine, a little tricky at 1st but u soon get used to it and it becomes second nature. All in all a decent phone, just still a few niggling problems Sony Ericsson still need to sort out, it seems they do this with all their high end phones. Hoping the upcoming Satio will be problem free, but i wouldn't bet on it.

I have craked the screen which i don't even remember doing and i splashed it with a little water and the buttons jammed but it's ok'ish now. The silver paint around the buttons also turns orange after a small while and chips off. The bit on the side that is metal beside the camera came off on mines and a few of my mates (who have the c905 also) plus the bit beside the speakers came off. Overal the phone is quite crap! x

When it works it's a great phone with an almost excellent camera. However, I'm taking it back to CPW tomorrow for the 4th time in 2 months. Their policy is; 4th time, I can choose a different phone. And I will be!! It's been returned for: 1. Applications suddenly stopped working. 2. Keypad wouldn't respond properly. 3. The inevitable earpiece problem. 4. Videoing would stop on it's own accord, even when in it's highest memory mode. Usually around 13 seconds and the lens cover is now stuck open. I'm really stuck as to which phone to go for now! I think the companies are trying to do too much which is causing all these problems. Mobiles never use to be this unreliable. When the camera is working it's excellent. And the flash is blinding! Why do SE still refuse to go with the 3.5mm headphone jack? You can't charge the phone while you've got the headphones connected. Charging socket is on the side, which makes most in-car holders useless when using an in-car charger. This is also a pain if you're texting or playing a game while on charge. The designers clearly don't trial the phones before releasing them. It's the SA80 of the phone world.

So in all the darn thing has been in for repair almost more time than I've had it. I can't knock the camera, it's great, although I can honestly say...."Go and buy a top of the range 8.1MP camera and a decent phone, DO NOT buy this one!!! I've worked out, phones are phones and can't be more than that without the jeopardising the phone it's self. This phone is the equivelant of trying to combine a kitchen in your sports car, it's bound to go wrong!!

Software is full of bugs and the charger point now won't charge the phone unless you put upward pressure on it. If you're lucky enough to get a good one (if they exist) then you'll only be disappointed by the substandard camera. Anyone who thinks it is good has got over excited by the fact it has 8.1 written on the cheap plastic shell. POOR EFFORT SE.

Had this phone since Oct '09 release in the UK and have had nothing but problems, the first had to be replaced after 2-3 weeks because the earpiece speaker died without warning. The replacement had to be sent back twice for the same fault, the keypad had to be replaced twice as the some buttons lost all feedback. The screen developed a flickering problem when using the keypad. Now the bluetooth and wifi don't work and the screen problem is back again. Contacted SE in the UK and got nowhere as they don't seem to respond to emails. Been a SE fan for years since the K750i but never had a problem until now. Phone itself is great if it works but it's been a massive letdown in my opinion.

a disappointing phone - have had a number of sony ericsson mobiles - always found them to be well engineered and robust. The c905 seems to have been "rushed" out to beat the competition re the 8mega pics. I have agreed with o2 to exchange for a 995 - hopefully this will be ok. The cover for the camera seemed a good idea but I (and family I asked)found it difficult to open and close. The keys are not easily accessed and my phone kept locking itself. I sent it off for repair/upgrade ? and now have random blotches on pics, - I could take 3 pics of the same thing and 1 or 2 would be fine, but 1 could have blotches - wierd.....

Main problems with the C905, as I'm sure has been mentioned, was then earpiece breaking. mine's done this 3 times, and I heard Sony actually ran out of replacement earpieces and was forced to ship out brand new C905's for a while. Secondly, those buttons that are tricky to text on get hugely worse when they randomly stiffen up. It sometimes hurts to press the buttoms down... that's no good. Avoid.

I got the C905 in November 2008 and was very happy with it, the camera is great, reliable software (unlike my old sony ericsson). However in March the keypad started to stick and I found I had to press really hard to get one of the keys to register. I got a replacement through Orange next day, so I was really happy with that. But, now again 4 months later the Keypad has done the same thing now 3 keys are very hard to press and texting has become such a chore I don't bother anymore. I can't get it replaced through Orange because they only do it within the first 6 months (even though I have an 18 month contract!)so I either have to pay £160 to orange for a repair, or get it repaired under sony ericssons 2 year warranty - which I'm having trouble with! I was never a heavy user of the keypad, maybe 5 - 10 texts a day and I didn't feel I was pressing hard on it when texting.

For the record the first problem I had was that the phone could not pick up the network (all though this is not a known issue). Faults included, switching itself off randomly, buzzing earpiece, screen going purple when pressing any keys, screen freezing and the "c" button not working. All the handsets would start to lose bookmarks and pictures attached to callers' IDs, which was a sign the other problems were about to start. I ended up just getting another c905. That phone has worked fine till yestday (30th June) and it broke again. i took it back to the shop and all they said was it will be replaced on thur sday, come back then. This is a great phone for the first few weeks, or months if you're lucky!! It may well look nice and have all these wonderful applications, but it doesn't appear to have been made incredibly well, for a start i have noticed from these reviews and the internet that a common problem with this phone is a software issue, which is that a message will come up when pressing a certain button "continue playback through speakers?" which mine has also got, rendering button number 6 useless. It also crashes constantly, especially when trying to send a text, and the nifty little sliding panel revealing the camera lens sticks and will not slide back into place properly, so although the camera lens is protcted, the insides are completely unprotected. Also all the keys stick in general after about a month.

And I admit, it has met my requirement for the images. But, here comes the problem. Having this phone for about 5 month now, I never, ever thought I would face with this problem. I sent my phone into repair because one of the buttons were not responding well. And they told me that they need at least 1 month to repair it. 1 MONTH?! Apparently they ran out of parts. *Sweat* How impressive. That's not the only problem. They took about 1 month in fact to repair it (or to be precise, they changed my parts.) In less than a week, my power adapter die on me. I don't think they ever going to be included in the warranty. So never mind, I will charge with my laptop. And guess what? The next thing I know, I have un-responsive screen?! Now I am seeing all the problems... Guess I just need to send in for another round of repair...

I really would love to comment on my C905 but unfortunatly I've forgotten what it looks like. It spends soooo much time going back to the supplier. So much time in fact that me and the manager of the suplyer are now really good mates! The ear piece constantly breaks down, the screen crashes, I've lost all my themes since sending it back, it freezes and it could be such a lovely phone but its just so unreliable. I've been an SE customer since 1993, but this really is the last one I will ever own. Very poor reliability and very very poor support from SE! Whatever are they playing at, same I can't give it half a point. Please please don't ever be tempted by SE again. They are total PANTS!

The bad news: the camera is really poor. it may have 8 Mpixels, but the lens is one of the worst I've seen on a phone camera. It's OK as long as you keep it on the lowest zoom setting: try anything else and you'll be disappointed. Finally, it feels fragile. Trying to get the battery cover off to insert the SIM, it felt as if it was going to pull the sliding mechanism apart. There is a disinct amount of "free play" on the slider.

Have now managed to get a different handset (as in different phone) from 3 customer services ... don’t bother with 3 shop they are useless. Phone 3 customer services instead, they always seem to be getting their systems upgraded but this is just a ploy and you must persevere!! Cannot wait to get rid of this troublesome phone. It’s a shame because it could be an excellent phone. Also, wife has had her phone repaired due to sticky rocker button, and is now having problems with earpiece which suffers from strange vibrations. It’s a shame, but I would not recommend this phone. No video calling – unless you use a mirror. Phone sometimes hangs during calls. Fabulous photos. Battery life improves with time, especially if you turn off apps like internet/wifi/gps.

Hmmmm... at what point around the creative brainstorming session did Sony they think it was ok to create dialing keys that were completely flat and hence rubbish for texting? This is a serious design flaw Sony. Most people like texting without having to look at their screens and they can do this coz they can sense each dial button, but not on the C905. It's flat so your fingers could be pressing all sorts of buttons as mine often does. What you end up with is a serious design flaw. I've been using Sony Erickson all my life and now you've lost my loyalty for life. Idiots.

I've had a C905 coming on 7 months. I've found it superb, but not perfect. The Bad Stuff: After about two months (as most people have complained) the ear piece broke, but Orange sent me a replacement which has been fine since January, so been fine for 4 months now. I found I was still able to use the loudspeaker and a headset to make calls whilst the speaker was down. Also I've found sometimes it can be a little slow to search through my contacts, (though my contact list is about 400 long!) The Average Stuff: I tend to find I need to charge the phone every 24 or 48 hours. The battery life is not great, but then you need the juice to run all the things the phone does! I've not had a problem in terms of running out of power when needed, but then I suppose somthing that lasts longer is always preferable! The Good Stuff: The camera is great, I took some pictures at a friend's wedding and printed them on photo paper, they look stunning! I fiddled with some GPS stuff, managed to download some free software for navigation shame orange have insisted on putting Orange maps on there, it was about 3 months before Orange maps was ready to use(despite a constant message saying "a couple of days")!.

Ive had the SE C905 for a week, this was a replacement handset for the C902 on o2online prepay. I LOVE it!!:-) I haven't had a problem with texting & love how it groups your texts into conversations. The camera is amazing though I have to admit I haven't really had a 'fiddle' with it yet so its still set to factory settings. The wi-fi connectivity is fantastic & if I can get that to work then anyone can!!Lol My only gripe, which is really annoying me, is that it constantly 'drops' calls. o2 have sent me a new sim, that hasn't helped so they are going to replace the handset. I have to use the in built speakerphone to make calls at the moment!!:-( I do think that this issue will be rectified by a 'software update' as SE often have to do this, its a shame they dont work out the 'glitches' before releasing the phones though in my opinion!! Over all I think its an excellent mobile device & will be even better when the talking side of the phone has been worked out ... 8.5/10 is my rating.

Also I'd have generals problems using menus etc. Second one lasted just over a day. Problem started not recognising memory card. Then is would restart while I listened to music on it. Sim card wouldn't be recognised (although it worked on other phones)and language kept changing, until phone was redered useless. Got a 3rd one of the way, and T-Modile assures me the problem will be fixed this time around though. Now some god points. Camera is amazing. The level of detail is on par and even better than a lot of 8MP Cameras. Videos are clear and sound is pretty crisp. The internet worked very well, fastest I've experianced on a phone. I even managed to get around 200kbs download speed on it, which is a pretty big jump considering my previous (and currently my substitute phone) was a Samsung G800. The amount of available apps is impresive, not far from the iPhone. I give it a 3 because I'm stuck in the middle. If you get a working one, you'll love it, otherwise you'll spend quite a bit of time cursing SE.

The first phone the camera failed, the second I had a sporadic fault with the alarm on it and my third-there's a problem with scrolling through the phonebook when you want to send messages. The plus side is that its packed full of features and the camera produces crisp clear photos-even in poor light. However the camera response time when you press to take a photo is somewhat slow. The keypad is a bit tricky when compiling texts-especially when you have big fingers but you soon learn to overcome this problem. The phone itself is pretty good but the problems I've been happening suggest more than just bad luck but more to do with manufacturing problems which doesn't provide me with a great deal of faith in this model.

It was a decision between this phone and the lg renoir, but I found out that the renoir only allows music to be played in alphabetical order! This is daft and if lg let a phone go to market with this fault then I reasoned that there were likely to other annoying problems with the phone. Before I get on to the C905 I would advise you to think about what you want a new phone for and what phone you had before. What ever the reviews say if you are upgrading from an old phone (over a couple of years old) to a new model you are likely to be happy with your new model despite how it compares to the other hand sets out there. I had a K800i before, which I thought was great. The C905 is an evolution of this so for me it is excellent and very easy to use. I have had the phone for a few weeks now and am happy with it. In general the UI is easy to use and refined. The Camera is excellent and easy to use. Internet is very good for a mobile phone and fast too (even when not using wifi), although BBC iplayer, despite being bundled in with the phone doesn't work over the network, but this is because of O2, not the phone. Check the BBC iplayer site for more info on what is supported and what is not. The media player is excellent, and although the video camera function is not as high spec as other handsets I think it is pretty good none the less. Email sync works well, although only with the inbox of your provider. I have found the GPS good in conjunction with google maps but not really sensitive enough for the tracker function. The Sat Nav function works pretty well, although I have not tested it extensively and would not rely on it for the afformentioned lack of sensitvity. This could easily be rectified by pairing it with a sirf III blue tooth reciever which would make it good enough to replace a dedicated sat nav. The screen quality is decent and size perfectly usable, despite being small in comparison to other hand sets. I don't understand peoples problems with the key pad. I have not had any problems using this. My gripes are a fault I had with the blue tooth (rectified by turning off and taking battery out) which lead to extreme battery drainage and being unable to play an mp3 I downloaded from the tinterweb. I suspect the first problem may account for people in reviews not rating the battery life: Other than when I had this problem the battery life has been decent considering the phones functions. If you use the battery draining functions alot then sure, battery life is not good. Otherwise it is 2 days plus with light usage. I am giving this a 5 star review based on how my phone is now. Remember I have only had it for 2 weeks so cannot comment on long term reliability. I would give it 4.5/5 if there was an option to do so because it is definately better than 4 stars, if not perfect.

But then to negate all of this the sole purpose of a phone being its ability to phone the ear piece has broken. Just got this phone today and i love it, i just read this review and made a couple of phone calls to see if it is hard to hear people and it isnt, texting is not difficult at all either i also just did another little test and texted with my eyes closed and everything i intended to type came up perfectly, i may have made one of two mistake but this was not from clickin the wrong button it was from not clicking it enough, so far so good, my phone was not fully charged when i bought it probably about a quarter of a bar and obviously i have gone nuts playing with all the different games and applications available and the battery hasnt budged a bit. the camera is fantastic, its really clear and has some great options and the little lense protector thing is very nice and classy. in the past 2weeks i have gone through 3 phones, just took out a contract and first off i got the LG Renoir, terrible phone! the concept is great - if it all worked smoothly, then i took that back within a week and switched it for the nokia 5800, also a terrible phone, its an applications phone yet there are no applications or games for it, completely defeats the object in my opinion! so then i took it back this morning with the intention of getting the nokia n96 but left with the sony ericsson c905 and so far im quite content with it it all seems to be in working order and since ive been so fussy with my previous phones i would also be fussy with this one and pick up on any faults! so to all the people bashing the phone, maybe youre just unlucky and got a bad batch but hopefully sony ericsson will have recognised this problem and fixed it all because half of the negatives are from when the phone was newly released, so fingers crossed mine stays working and if it doesnt and i cant get it replaced well ill just sell it at a good price to somebody who can get it repaired. fingers crossed - touch wood my phone seems perfect and i am extremely happy with it.

I opted for this phone, despite having been a faithful Nokia user for years, because the N96 was getting poor reviews. The first issue with the C905 is how incredibly frustrating it is to text. The keys are too flat and it's far too easy to press the buttons too many times. I was used to texting really quickly with one hand without even having to look at the keys so this was a real disappointment and so irritating! Battery life is also really poor even with fairly light use. After 6 weeks the earpiece broke so I could only make calls on speakerphone. Sent it back, received a replacement and straight away, the earpiece problem was back, although not everytime. Using the Menu down button usually results in the screen going all to pot, displaying loads of colour and odd graphics. And now the 'C' button barely works. Software upgrade did nothing to resolve the issues. The camera is great but given that the phone can't even do the basics, I'm extremely unimpressed. The C905 would be a fantastic phone if it worked. Camera was quite good, but not that much better than the 2MP offering on my old K750i. The GPS was a nightmare to get working. I walked around Brighton for about 2 hours and it did not pick a GPS signal at all. When the phone did eventually pick up GPS signal it dropped it within seconds and would not communicate with Google maps. The best positional data I got was only accurate to within 1800 metres - totally useless. With a TomTom bluetooth GPS sensor my postion was shown almost instantly. I kept the phone for a week and returned it. I'm now back with my old K750i. If you just want a phone with a reasonably competent camera, fair enough. If you want a reliable GPS device look elsewhere.

However, I'd like to point out a post above mine - it was mentioned pressing 'c' solved the problem, and it actually does. I just got off the phone to Orange who are fantastic and arranged for another replacement, so I will get that and then bear in mind the 'c' solution for the future. Can't even get into it via USB to check that the most recent back-up is up to date. My first SE, have always had Nokias, don't think I will ever purchase one again. I fell in love with this phone but unfortunately turned out to be totally average. I will be receiving my third handset tomoro which will actually come out of my warranty after just 3 months. The first one the slider was bent and it had twists dents bends all over it. The second one had for 3 months and the 6 button doesn't work properly anymore. I try pressing it then it tries to activate the music player. I could get over the fact that the screen once again was a rubbish 262k one but nothin can compare to the relative identical image quality between my k810i and c905. I simply found that the sensor for the 8.1 mp cam was not enough for the camera of that size. If you buy this phone don't think the pictures will be of better quality just simply means they are bigger. I dunno bout you but i dont care for printing my pictures in a1 size I'm extremely dissapointed with SE the k810i is the best phone i ever had and i thought the c905 would be 20 times better. I have to say the build quality is appauling the duel slider is no good as there is too much clearance on it. I never thought i'd say this but the price is overated and it fell by £100 after just 2 months. I recommend you don't buy this phone i'm seriously considering getting an n95 either way the c905 will be being sold as soon as it arrives. Quality slide action, easy to use menu's that don't freeze (unlike the c902) and three weeks in no problems with the speaker as some have reported. The phone came with a 2gig memory card as standard so plenty of storage. Lots of nice things built in (that you won't use after a week or so of playing with your new toy). Then, the camera. One word - Awesome. Flash, quality of picture when blown up ease of use - it is simply fantastic. Thankfully, the video quality has improved from earlier version of Sony phones. Just got this phone about 2 weeks ago and first impressions are that is it fantastic. I had the SE w810i and that was a truly fantastic phone but i needed an upgrade. First all the functionality of the c905 is essentially the same as my old phone so that was great. Easy to use and relatively quick to load. The camera is great with the xenon flash and quality is better than expected since it's actually a phone. Flash is very bright which is good and bad (blinds people you are taking photos of) but you'll never have any problems with taking photos at night. The lense had a cool slide cover that merges into the phone. I know earlier phones had a massive cover that stuck out the back. This one is hidden perfectly and looks good. Comes with 2gig mem card so no worries about space for photos and music. The music player is good and quality is good so even though its a cybershot it works well as an mp3 player. The screen is really big at 2.4 inches and is crystal clear and it had motion sensors so will change from portrait to landscape when you move directions to view photos and web browsing. Wi-fi is good and stable and 3g seems to work but slowly, but probably due to slow australian networks. Ring volume is good and earpiece volume is good but vibration is quite soft which can be a little annoying. The slide mech is smooth and feels strong wouldn't break. The keypad takes getting used to as a lot of others have mentioned. The buttons are kinda all merged together so they don't have an individual feel to them. Texting is still ok though but i'm not a hardcore texter. Take note though people with finger nails may find it really hard to type with the space available with the keypad. Some bad things now. Battery life is very average. I get around 3 days with moderate use. Emailed SE about it asking where my 300+ standby time is with my battery as claimed by website and they told me to improve my battery life i should consider turning off my phone during the day when not in use.....how stupid....they gave me more suggestions that weren't as dumb as that which i already did but still bad battery life. Another one is when you unlock it when the keypad isn't showing you can't then lock it again. You have to slide the phone up and then down again to lock. Its not a big deal but slightly annoying. GPS is useless at doing what it's supposed to be do. Haven't read manual about it though but. Overall the phone is fantastic and looks fantastic in black. It's also got a nice rubber back which feels great in your hands. It's a little heavy but i like it that way. I've had no issues with the phone at all so if you are looking for a good functional phone buy this one.

Only just received this phone yesterday (Orange upgrade) and before even registering the SIM, whilst transferring my numbers from my old SIM, the key-lock seems to have a mind of its own - locking and locking itself every other second - whilst the phone is slid-open. I think this is due to a faulty connection between the two main parts of the phone - they seem quite wobbly. The battery cover is also very 'plasticy' - not as robust as my SE K810i. I had this for a couple of weeks now - it's a very good phone. The features on it are good - clearly the camera is the big selling point and on this, SE have come up with a winner. By some distance the best I have seen on a mobile and a definite advance on the 5mp ranges in a way that the 5mp ranges did not really advance from 3.2mp. A number of other comments (and internet chatter) have talked about problems with the earpiece - fingers crossed this is not a problem my wife or I have found so far. It would be interesting to know where the phones with this problem were bought - mine is direct from o2. I would also say that I am baffled as to how so many people are having a hard time texting on this phone. There is nothing wrong in that regard. I can't really find too many downsides here. The battery life is not as good as my old K800, though it is certainly not bad. The battery seemed to get better after two or three charges and some of the comments written by people who have owned the phone for an hour may not reflect that. The screen on the phone is quite small. This is a bit of a personal point as one of the few really good features on my old G800 was the large screen. Of course, many people like a smaller phone. The other downside (I suppose) is that the phone is expensive, at least for the moment. That being said, this is a quality product I would say I have paid for quality. There is an issue here in how far are we paying for a phone and how far are we paying for a camera - at 8 megapixels I think we are coming to the limits of paying for a phone attached to a camera. This being said, this is a good product and I certainly have no problem recommending it.

This seems to happen sporadically, can go a week where it's fine then 2-3 days where it's extremely temperamental to say the least. This is my first SE, and it's realiability has been terrible. I read some posts on sites saying they'd rushed the phone out to get it on the market and that seems to be the case with me. Since upgrading from a Nokia 6100 to a SE K750i in 2005, I have been an avid fan of SE phones. I loved the layout, never had reliability issues and loved the feature-packed cameras which produced photos of high saturation (unlike some milky Samsung pictures which I had seen on friends' mobiles at the time). I was still happy with the K810i although the buttons on both the 750i and 810i packed in. This, however, was after 18 months of v quick non-predictive text messaging and just in time for an upgrade! Right...! My latest upgrade was the c905. I waited a little in anticipation of a SE phone with an awesome spec and I was looking forward to bragging to my sister's boyfriend (who had downgraded to the K800i from a higher-spec bug-ridden W-series SE mobile)! I loved my c905 for five weeks (just past the 28 day exchange limit at o2!), upgraded to the full Wayfinder and then found that the earpiece speaker had died. This seems to be a MAJOR and COMMON fault on a new handset yet I have not heard anything about it apart from forums (fora?) of this type. Surely Sony know how to make phones by now?! I feel tempted to say that ALL c905s should be recalled and replaced with new, restructured handsets and this via the network retailers/franchises which sold them. I have no qualification to say this but the problem is not the earpiece itself, it is as though something has moved slightly inside and a CONNECTION HAS BEEN LOST. Almost as though the thin circuit board inside the upper, sliding section has moved out of position somehow. I am now on my second broken handset. The replacement handset for the one which could not be fixed broke inside five days. FIVE DAYS!!! I deem the c905 unfit for purpose! HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED that the bottom rim edge of the square left-right-up-down navi button thing is tougher to press when the earpiece fault has occurred?????????? I knew that the second handset had broken before trying to make a call (and not hearing the other person) because the down button felt wrong and tougher than before. Is this common? It happened on my first handset! This kinda suggests that something (circuit board?) inside has shifted out of place. ALSO...the earpiece does come back to life if you manage to press the C button in a certain way during a call. This is fiddly, unreliable and just plain daft...especially as holding C turns off the microphone so that they, then, cannot hear you!!!!!! It just proves that it's a connection problem and that the earpiece itself is still fine. I head to my o2 shop this evening to see if they canb help me out for a second time. I've never ever had a problem with o2 - they've been great but it is sad that this handset and SE are causing unnecessary problems. I hope that SE sort this out as the phone, otherwise, is gorgeous. It's like having Elisha Cuthbert in your pocket...but a mute Elisha Cuthbert and what use is an Elisha Cuthbert which you cannot hear?.........then again, hee hee......!!! PS For those with blurry pictures - are you pressing halfway down enough for the camera to autofocus (like a real camera does)? Pressing all the way at once will result in unfocused pictures! Also, texting was a b**ch to get used to due to the flat keypad and my fingers occasionally fouled the sides (I have slim fingers!) but I got used to it after a week or two and was willing to put up with it due to the higher spec and satnav!

Well I'm seriously dissappointed with this phone. The earpiece has given up the ghost after only 2 weeks! Looking at all these reviews I'm seeing that it is a common problem. The professional write up at the top of this page should be taking into account the problems people are having. 'Outstanding' as a rating is a joke with all the glitches it has. Approach this phone with caution!

Had this phone for just over two weeks when the ear piece packed in, unable to hear or speak to anyone unless on speaker, how annoying!! Seems to be a common fault with this phone. I have upgraded sone erricsons for years now, this will be my last!! Nightmare to text too, real shame it had such great reviews and has been a huge let down for the price.

Great camera considering it's on a phone. But thats where the problem lies, this is the only outstanding feature. All the other features are industry standard, therefore it's definately not worth the price tag, as you could get a better camera for £150, then an industry standard phone with wi-fi and 3G for say another £200, working out £150 less than the price of this phone. I feel it has been cheaply made, cheap nasty buttons that are so close together that you are often likely to press the wrong one. This is a sexy phone no doubt, but i find myself looking for alternatives already. Although I do like the battery on the phone, lots of people are saying that it is no good, but mine lasts 48hrs. If you are taking more pics and videos and using Internet then expect 24hrs (still good though) Pro's - Lens slide cover Dedicated camera buttons Good Looks Good Battery Scratch proof screen Comes with 2GB external memory Cons - Average Video playback Cheap Buttons Standard functions except camera

ive had the phone around 6-8weeks now. already buttons 2 5 and 8 are scratched badly and 0 a little by the slider! not impressed.. after 2 weeks of owning it crashed a couple times. within the next two weeks crashing became constant with a fault, being when using for 10-30 seconds the screens resolution or quality goes really really bad and dull sometimes black with white lines or black and crashed, wether it be playing games, texting, or general browsing! when i cancel to main menu and close the slider after 20seconds and the phones gone off and lights when i re open the slider it goes back to normal. very very strange! waiting for sony get back to me if not im goin car phone warehouse tomorrow not been able over the hols with work and holidays etc.. otherwise it can be a fantastic phone.

This phone is rubbish, ive had mine 2 months, and already its conked out, the screen has gone all fuzzy and pixelated. Kind of like when your trying to tune in an old TV and the picture is hidden by loads of fuzzy dots. Rang up vodafone, as i am not happy with Sony Ericssons, my last one the speaker went, and they wont let me change it. So now i am stuck with the brick again. Dont get me wrong, it does most things a phone should, but its not amazing, camera is okay. Battery life is very poor! lasts one day tops!! Texting is really hard on the phone as the buttons are very stiff. The wifi works well howvwer vodafone have set it up so you have to go on wap to use any of their applications, or go onto vodafone live, therefore you are paying for them services! Also the phone tends to not lock itself very well, so i alwaysfind myself on the internet when its left in my handbag... therefore boosting up my monthly bill. Wouldnt reccomend this phone, im sure there are many more better phones around. Or maybe try it with a different company!

What can I say- brilliant. Intuative, yet bold and still in such a beautiful shell. This phone is like a blonde bombshell with brains and the ability to cook, clean, etc etc. The camera is perfect. The battery life perfect. The keypad is good after you get used to it. And best of all the voice clarity is excellent when talking to your mates. Just buy thats my advice. BTW had the phone 2 months now.

I got this on Pay As You Go for £360 and took it back for a refund after 3 days. The Wi-Fi connection did not work at all, most likely because it was an un-locked phone from Carphone Warehouse. I had read very good reviews for the C905 and was most interested in the camera facilities. This was a big disappointment though. It’s very, very slow, in almost all departments, particularly camera function. From changing settings, to taking the snap and the almost crippling one second save time for each shot. The Xenon flash is good though and covers a good range even up to 4 metres. It is a fiddly phone though despite its bulk which appears to have a lot to do with the fragile slider mechanism. The GPS function was good though as was the sound quality for MP3’s. Watching video on the phone though is very poor for the price as is video recording quality. Not recommended.

If you are looking for a phone and not just a camera/music player then avoid this phone at all costs! The signal strength and therefore reception is appaling. I have reverted back to my 5 year old nokia because the sony has no signal anywhere inside the house but the nokia is fine. Great camera but rubbish phone, not really the point of a camera phone!!

Buy One!!
