Basically on paper the best phone ever invented, and extremely stylish. However, issues with the firmware - alarm failure has made me late for work twice now, and the music player, despite being very good quality, stutters randomly (not linked to type of file, or location) which is quite annoying. Keys are a bit small for big hands too but not a massive issue.

Had a K800i before this which was perfect , this phone keeps freezing and deleting photo's used to be instant but now comes up with the message 'please wait' then 'updating' then takes an age to finally delete anything ... really annoying , and in general is a very slow re-acting phone.

Now on my second phone and this one will be also going back. The first one developed a fault after about 1 week. There would be a flickering on the camera when recording in video mode. Now having had the second one for about 1 1/2 weeks it has turned it's self off 4 times and frozen a couple of times. If it weren't for these faults it would be a very good phone which I do like but I'm sorry but these faults aren't acceptable, back it goes.

Phone arrived this morning, 8 hours later these are my first thoughts. Asthetics are fantastic, and overall it glows the usual Sony quality, but look closer and the side lines dont allign 100% ok im taking 100's of a cm but still its not like Sony to have even the smallest of imperfections on their kit. The phone feels bendy?! Who the hell designed the keypad? Its shocking to text on. The touch buttons on the screen for camera operation whilst valid and well thought of in pre design dont work very well at all in relation to finger response. Having major lag problems when looking at pictures and turning the phone from vertical on to its side as well, the whole media menu which I love on my PS3 seems again to lag and feel sloppy on this phone. All in all im really disapointed. I had the K750i in the past and loved it, the C902 just doesnt work well enough in my humble opinion to be a market leader. For a phone this thin though you have to be impressed with the camera, as a point and shoot out of your pocket capture device you cant grumble at all with the results. The built in speaker gives my Samsung stand alone MP3 player a run for it's money as well. Who knows with time I may get on better with my new phone, but first impressions are very mixed.

What a HUGE disapointment !! Looks great, feels great but a list of technical probs as long as my arm !! Swiching itself off, not turning back on ... when it is switched on it freezes constantly; when dialing, when texting, whilst gaming and using the internet - REALLY annoying. Then to top it all, practically EVERY call I make they can hear me but for 10/15 seconds at a time I can't hear the other person !!! Nightmare ...I've been a very happy sony ericsson user for about 6yrs now, this handset is a shamble. I've gotahandset being delivered tomorrow but the tech guy at Orange made it sound like I'd probably be sending the new one back too !!!

Iv had this phone for over a wk now and in that time Iv had nothing but problems (phone crashing, camera not working, music jumping, slow navigation) the lot. Yesterday I updated the phone's software using the provided CD and am now the proud owner of a fully functional C902 with a newly installed 8GB Mem card with a couple of thousand songs and since the update not a single song has froze, phone hasn't crashed once and its even running faster when navigating...All is well in the world again. :)

I had the Samsung U600 b4 this phone and overall that was a much better phone, it didn't freeze up on calls, txting or when listening to music, the pics where just as good and the main menu setup is very similar. The only plus the C902 has over the u600 is the internet which I have to admit is qiute good.

SLOW SLOW SLOW!! very annoying as i've always been an ericsson user and a big fan of their phones. so annoying as it freezes up when trying to do basic things like sending texts, and navigating around the menus can be very frustrating. worst thing is the handset which keeps randomly rebooting, to be honest its a nightmare.

I got the sony ericsson c902 phone yesterday and i have to say i am pretty impressed. it's got a nice, sleek design, with an unusual stripe effect all around the edge of the phone. it's easy to use, and i think the new slide design that reveals the camera is excellent. not seen a phone like it before. all in all, very impressed, and will recommend this to anyone.

Had it a month now, buttons are very hard, more so the numbers than the soft keys. The camara is a bit of a letdown, it gives very over prosessed images that don't look good compared to the Samsung G600 or Nokia N95. Other then the camara its great, battery life locked in GSM mode lasts me almost a week. The music player rivals the Walkman range. A bit heavy but feels very solid and is well weighted, good for typing texts and playing games.

Bought this sim free from Carphone Warehouse. Within days it had started to turn itself off. Not just reset , actually turn off and not restart until the battery was removed. I attempted to return it as faulty but the sales assistant took the battery out of the phone and started it up , then refused either a refund or exchange as apparently it is now carphone warehouses' policy not to refund or exchange unless they can witness the fault themselves , in other words they would have to see the phone turn itself off !! It's a real shame as in many ways it's a fantastic handset but if it can't fulfill it's primary purpose as a phone , all the gizmos don't mean a thing so far as I'm concerned.I have since bought a Nokia N82 which has proven reliable. Will not bother with Sony Ericsson or Carphone Warehouse again.

Had a couple of problems!! Mine keeps freezing when I'm texting, when I'm on a call all of a sudden I can't hear the other person talking but they can hear me, the buttons on the camera do my head in, when I try to take a pic I keep accidentally touching the blue buttons on the side which turns things on that I dont want, the other buttons are ok but not brilliant for texting. I've had loads of sony ericsson mobile phones and this is the only one I've not been totally happy with. My friend just got a Black Nokia N95 and I think thats loads better. C902 is abit of a let down to be honest!

Quite a nice phone with some great features but terrible battery life. Struggles to maintain a 3G connection on Vodafone although I suspect that is their network rather than the phone. If you are a gmail user watchout as their Java app does not work on these phones.

I have had the phone since the 7th July with T Mobile and I have encountered to many problems compared to my reliable 3 yr old K800. So far i have encountered sluggish/ slow menus when memory card is in, camera mode becoming jerky and the screen flickering, phone freezing when selcting options and menus, freezing when in the contacts address book, music cutting out briefly during play, not being able to hear people whn making calls and finally to top it off the screen died on me this morning. Its being relpaced by T mobile but will see how the next one they give me gets on....a good phone but dont egt an early one....full of bugs.

Had this phone as an upgrade and regret selecting it. The design is lovely and camera is great. However, I have to charge my phone battery every day (even when I have not made/received calls amounting to 2hrs in total or listened to music or playeed games)! Plus, it 'freezes' (like you pc would)for about 1mn, several times a day and keeps switching off. And I then have to wait about 2mns+ before I can swtich it back on. My advice is not to get this phone.

I've had this phone for about 2 weeks now and I must say I quite like it, i had the k800i before this which was spectacular so I decided to get the upgrade, the camera is pretty good and the phone it's self is similar to the k800i so it is a good phone, the only problems I have with it is I don't think the battery is very solid, although when you first get a phone you are supposed to leave it charge for a good 10 hours or whatever, I just left mine charge for an hour or so untill it said it was charged so the battery could be partly my fault, also when I'm on the phone the other half often says she can't hear me so I don't know whats going on there, maybe I don't speak loud enough? Either way its a solid phone and probably the best on the market at the moment so I'd advise getting it, a solid 4 stars,

THIS IS DEFINITELEY ONE OF THE BEST PHONES OUT AT THE MOMENT, LOVELY SCREEN, NICE KEYPAD AND THE CAMERA IS EXCELLENT. CHECKING FOR THE LATEST FIRMWARE UPDATE IS MANDATORY WITH ANY PHONE YOU BUY AS NOBODY GETS IT RIGHT FIRST TIME, I THINK MOST OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOR THIS PHONE ARE FROM PEOPLE WHO JUST DON'T HAVE A CLUE HOW TO UPDATE THEIR PHONE, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THE PHONE DOES COME WITH A CD (REMEMBER THEM?) AND THAT FUNNY CABLY THINGIE (DATA TRANSFER CABLE), A NEW FIRMWARE IS READILY AVAILABLE, USE IT AND ENJOY.

only had it 3 weeks. screen went off & would only reset by plugging the charger in. did this twice, then i switched it off to try to recover the signal, only to find it wouldn't switch on again. it's been replaced today with the same again. i wasn't happy with the keypad. it felt unresponsive(compared with the old & trusty W810i). the new one today does feel a little better, but time will tell. in the short time of ownership, i found the battery life very poor compared again with the 810i. this was after i'd spent a week running it down playing with the brilliant features. under the same conditions(no bluetooth, 50% screen, same minimal use) three days max, compared to seven wi the 810i. good stuff though: excellent camera very good media looks very tasty

After having 2 fails at the Samsung U900 i got this phone. Did want the K850i but the guy told me about this gorgeous looking thing thats like the K850i but just upgraded. Looks and Feels, Really nice Screen, Amazing, Could do with being abit bigger but even more amazing when you get them 8 Blue Touch Screen buttons showing up on camera mood. Music and Sound. WOW! hear it for yourself if you can, Loud, Clear, and nice Bass! Buttons, Very nice, Its back to the old days with Sony and i think its for the better. Camera, Good even hitting on amazing outdoors, Just the flash is LED and not xenon so you wont get amazing pics in the dark but very passable. All round this is a good phone and very worth the money.

Looks nice but outperformed in the camera department by the older K800i, lacks proper xenon flash so it's back to the K750i days. Shame because had they got this right then it would probably have been a 5 star rating, without it's serious enough to drop 2 stars, please take note Sony, try putting the speakers on the side or front! with a perfectly flat back all sound is muffled unless you lie it on it's screen >:(
