I've had this phone for abour 4 months. silver is chiping off rapidlyto revel a grose gren snot colour . When calling someone you are unable to cancel the call with the cancel button but only by sliding the whone back down. Annoying!

Very poor phone, have had it 6 months and it worked totally fine (other than the overly sentitive touch screen) but now it's gone crazy and the screen/software isn't working. and it looks like I'm not the only one: see "samsung u700 big problems" in google and you'll see. hopefully I've not lost all my contacts and will have to see out my contract before I can get rid of it. It does look good but what's the point if the screens not working!

i have had this phone for 3 months and it would not charge they have told me this is due to physical damage which is absolute rubbish the phone has never been dropped so i am now going to get intouch with O.F.T i will not accept this also they have the cheek to charge me �9 for sending my phone back!!!!!! do not buy from samsung!

Not only is this phone supersensitive, all the silver paint from the sides and top of the phone have flaked off and I have only had the phone since March. It looks such a state. Samsung refuse to admit this is a manufacturing fault so will not replace it and if an engineer takes the phone and confirms that this is not a manufacturing fault, I would be charged. Therefore I have been told there is nothing I can do and I am stuck with this phone for the next 7 months.

U700 may look smart but its got several glitches.Firstly i have experienced the rebooting problem without even using the internet. Then the touch screen may be fanccy but its a pain. My phone keeps dialing numbers and surfing the net. The scrolling wheel is also a pain. If you scroll too fast it does its own thing. Also i find that if i type a message too fast it will suddenly just discard the message. My phone is almost a year old and now i see i'm starting to get blank screens for no reason and my speaker is faulty. I can't hear anything until i put it on speaker and then back again. Its the last Samsung that i'm going to get! Looks like some of you guys got lucky and got the phone without the ghost in it. mine does its own thing!

Dnt pay any attention to all these fake remarks. i admit that a mobile cant be as perfect as we want it to be. i have my samsung for nearly 1 yr. it is still in excellent condition. no peeling of paint from the side, the touch keys functions normally. but i agree some some of u have bought a samsung U700 with certain built-in defects. i will change my samsung hopefully next year, but not due to abnormalities but due to new technology of Samsung.

this is my 1st time to use samsung and it disappoints me.. really much.. although the screen colour and design were great, it's function and button were bad. when i sms, it will suddenly hang there.. and it even hang when i access the my phonebook. And the T9 predictive text really make it hard for me compare to SE 1.. i've took it to the service centre and the problem is still there...

Like most of the other unsatisfied samsung users I can only add a few complaints to the long list of troubles with the U700. Stylish, slim and great HSDPA, but that is where it ends.The frustrations I had to deal with the first 2 weeks using the phone were that the phone resets by itself sometimes (Off/on without even asking for pin). Then, when trying to take photo �Capture failed� (need to swich phone off/on then take photo). It would delete all 700 of my contacts by itself. The battery would show 2bars, I start making a call and the phone switches off. These are the defects at the moment. The phone is still brand new, but I believe the next to expect is a pealing cover. What to do?

my screen broke, the side paint is completely off, after a while my button lights wouldnt switch off and now my touch screen buttons dont work at all, its a terrible phone!

OMG if you think this phone is the best, then i completely disagree with you! I've had this phone for about a month. First few weeks it worked perfectly fine, i have to admit the camera's really good. But NAH the phone SUX. The pictures will just suddenly invert itself, the touch screen part wont work and the colours change. IN ONLY A MONTH. So if i were you. . dont buy this phone!

I've had this phone for 5 months now and typically it gets mashed and bashed around a bit, but has broken now. I can't receieve phone calls because I can't hear the person talking and I can't listen to music aloud because I can't hear it. Also, my phone tends to have a funny 5 minutes (more than 5 mins though) where it 'falls asleep' and comes back again.

my camera always seems to blur...even on a still object if i move slightly, i have to tell the person/people to stay still and i dont move at all and it still manages to blur...very annoying

I Got This Phone Because I Lyked The Way It Luked But Is Easily The Worst Phone Ive Eva Had. This Phone Is A Jk, I Hav Had It For Less Thn 2 Months And It Is Already Broke Due To Unknown Reasons And Was Scratched 2 Death Within Days Nd The Screen Is Bloody Annoyin 4 Smudges, The Sliding Bit In My Oppinion Wasn Very Stable Eiva , I Havnt Even Finished Payin 4 It Yet. I've had this phone for just over a year now and love it. The only downside I have gad is the paintwork, this handset is my second, and i've repainted that with nail varnish. That handset is about 8 months old, and I've only just sent it in for repair as the touch screen buttons have ceased to work, I think thats just because I've slammed it down one too many times! The scroll wheel is a unique idea that I've not seen on other phones, it makes looking at contacts, messages and music quick and easy. The music player is good, the sound is a little quiet when playing it ouside or in a public place, such as school bus. But other than that the music player is good, I love the flower display theme on it. Am due and upgrade in a couple of months time, but instead of a new phone, may just get another one of these, maybe the purple one this time. Great phone, would recommend it any day (:

DONT BUY IT.. Im 5 months in, and looking around for ways too fix my problem.. One thing is that the Screen and sides are almost gone.. i mean their flaking of Really bad.. But now, the touch dont work.. AND WHEN THE TOUCH DONT WORK.. You cant enter the menu.. and then u have 200 Pounds (Where i bought it anyway) Worth of screen saver.. I Cant even make a simple Phone Call.. Im buying a new one tommorrow.. AAaaarh.. that samsung made this is an insult too all who has come too trust them and their phones.. they must have been able too see the problems in their indurance tests of the model.. and that makes it more than an insult, their cheating us.. The phone's functions are gr8 - The 3.2 MP camera, sound and touch buttons are all excellent features but on the down side my silver started peeling after just 1 month and i've handled it soooo well! It doesn't seem as if Samsung's doing anything about this!!! Oh and there's no fm radio which sux...

I have had this phone for 12 months now and I hate it with a vengence. I have had no problem with the paintwork and the screen is scratch free as I have taken care of it. The battery life is a laugh as you have to charge it every day. The touch pads have a life of there own and I have to use the middle button to control the damn thing. Don't buy it you will regret it. Can't wait till October to renew my contract and it won't be Samsung.

I've had this phone since December and i HATE it. I've always had a Samsung cos they're usually good but this, no way! for starts, like everyone else the silvers chipped off and its not cos of how I've handled it cos I'm very careful not to scratch things and theres no a single scratch on the screen, just the tacky silver paint i got used to the touch screen but it doesn't mean that it does what i want it to. instead of going to the menu it video calls people and the Vodafone live pops up allll the time. I've been talking on the phone many times with it cutting out because of the end call buttons touched my cheek the music plays so quietly you can choose your alarm song, it has to be a tune already installed on the phone, same with messaging and to top it all off, my touch screen has completely stopped working today!! Its not recognising anything when i touch it, it flashes to show its sensed me but the phone doesn't react to it. I've got a number of text messages i cant view, and I'm exspecting a number of calls all of which i cannot even answer with the buttons all being touch sensitive! I have to send the phone back to Samsung as its under warranty but Im looking at buying a diffrent one anyway because it drives me crazy! The phone cost me 280 and its locked in a 24 month contract :( Seriously do not buy it! Theres so many better ones out there

well its a great phone appearance wise , but the screen gets coverd in fingerprints :P lmao and you defently need headphones to listen to the music in an outside place as the loudest volume is so quiet. the vodafone firmware is disapointing and i would recomend flashing it from u700V to the u700, as you can then background music play and the menus are so much better. overall i would buy this phone again .

Ive just read some of the reviews on the u700 and am very relieved that i'm not on my own!! the worst phone ever and my first and last samsung. Cuts out when making phone calls much to my anouyance and expense, has a mind of its own. Been told buy vodaphone that its my fault it doesnt work properly even though i complained to them on the first day of use. Now 2months old im Left with a useless phone for 18months.

This phone is probably the most gorgeous phone i've ever seen. Too bad thats all that is good with this phone. It feels completely plasticky, and then proceeds to confirm its plastic nature when the silver lining begins to peel off. Suddenly the phone looks like the ugliest phone i've ever seen. I had a free replcement of the lining and guess what - 2 months later and the same thing is happening again! How can a premium phone be of such poor quality?!

What a disaster! I have had my phone for about 5 months and just about all the paint has peeled from the front. My touch pad has given problems from the beginning and has become unusable from today. I have about 900 contacts in my phonebook but has not yet been able to copy the contacts from my phone to my laptop. Sometimes my phone switches from normal to speakerphone in the middle of a conversation - it is a miracle that I have any hearing remaining in my right ear! Back to good old Nokia for me...

Bought this phone a few months back when on a business trip. The phone is easy to use, with large well spaced keys which are suited to my shovel like appendages. The chrome effect has peeled off from most of the phone, one moment I had the phone it was fine and when it next came out of the protective sock I use the paint was gone. Taking care of the phone doesn't come into it as there is a design fault with the paint on earlier models which can be replaced by the Samsung approved service center for free. Regarding the usage of the phone, battery life is good and I make a fair few international calls for long periods of time. One problem is the two touch keys, they are far too sensitive and cannot not be adjusted. Such is the problem with these that you will accidentally end phone calls when the phone touches your face. No problems with the SMS menu, or making false calls, video or SMS messages or SMS confirmations. All in all a reasonable phone, although had I known it at the time, I would have bought the U600 because to all intents and purposes it is a better phone. Hopefully it lasts longer than my D600 which failed and is more like my D500 which after two years, is still working.

i thought the phone was amazing at first, then the touch started to REALLY annoy me becore you have to press the keys about 5 times before they listen to you !! also, my screen has just started to get weird patches all over it... like bruises or whatever, and now theres all these funny lines going across it and i take really good care of it so tis obviously not something ive caused. :(. also, it REALLY ATTRACTS figer prints! so annoying !! also you cant pick any other themes except the main vodafone one, and the storage space is bad you have to but a memory card. dont but this phone, waste of money i think :). will be getting a new one asap!

am so disappointd with my u700.i thot i was d best fon in the world wen ma boyfriend gave it to me as a birthday present last october,ive had it for omost 7months now,the silver paint has come off in the sides n jus a week ago the touch buttons stopped working.n as am writting this its completely stopped working...am so upset coz i love sumsung fons n this is a big disappointment.

I must say that I�m extremely disappointed with this specific model due to it�s chrome peeling off It annoys me I cant save messages in a folder and that I have to either delete my whole inbox or delete messages one at a time. The worst has happened... my phone has a mind of its own and has gone on the blink>>. After a phone call, the lights would not swith off and now the keypad just does not respond. What a piece of JUNK!!! Its my first Samsung, but after this I never want to see another Samsung again. Problem is I have the phone on a contract for two years and its only 4 months old !!! Rating should be NIL

i love this phone - don't be put off by the bad reviews i nearly was! its very stylish so everyone is jealous of it. All the functions are adjustable incl. sensitivity of touch buttons, shortcut keys etc. the only problem is the camera takes ages to take a pic but everyone has proper cameras now anyway so its not a problem for me, also the built in memory is small but you can buy a memory stick for that! i would well reccommend this phone.

I have no idea, but I had this handy for 3 days, but the standby time is only 24 hours, is that acceptable? terrible. for all other functions are so ferfect, why so bad battery?or only that I have no luck to get a bad quality one?

I have has this phone for 6 weeks now. Paint is coming off, I'm sick of the phone goin on the internet when I pick it up. Tired of gettin part way through a text then my finger accidentally touches the touch sensitive part and cancels the whole thing. I have has some phones over the last 15 years but this is badly though out and not user friendly. I really should have stuck with Nokia

This is my first Samsung phone and I have had it for about 2 months now. It's a great phone with lots of features. I have never had problems with the touch screen (you can actually adjust the sensitivity), though it took me about 3 days to get used to it. No signs of silver flaking because i bought a full body screen protector for the U700. Only downside is the volume when playing music without the headset - it's not loud enough to hear when in crowded/noisy areas. Anyway, i found the solution to this by amplifying my mp3s using wavepad. :) Overall it's a great phone! I love it!

My silver paint has peeled off totally, but if you use it for 3G HSDPA it is perfect, but otherwise here in South Africa, a contract with vodacom the phone while in a middle of a call the sound of the call just goes dead, then you can't here what the other person say for a minute or two or until you phone the person again. This phone's photo taking is one of the best, thus I'll give the phone 4 stars of taking pictures, I'll give the U700 4 stars for internet 3G HSDPA, but for sound quality for ringing it is very soft, so well as music player, thus 1 star for sound, and for sound of a call, sometimes no hearing the other person on the other side and vice versa 1/2 a star, Thus overall rating for music and voice calls 1 star and overall rating for internet (3G HSDPA 3.6Mbps) 4 stars. Thus my recommendation is if you buy this phone for a camera and internet, it's perfect, but if you buy this phone for voice calls and music, rather go burn you're money, I'll have more fun with it that way. Only buy this phone for internet and/or camera, because that is the only use for it!!!

Dreadful phone, It does video calls, text and rings people in your pocket. Worst of all I have had 3 so far and today my third has broken. On all 3 the screens have failed to respond when the screen is slid up and down, it's either blank, or distorted view of what should be there. NEVER EVER BUY ONE AND YOU WILL HAVE DONE YOURSELF A FAVOUR - 1 STAR IS OVER-RATED

this is a very nice and sleak phone, it isnt very loud but i wasnt too bovered as listen to my music threw headphones. i managed to store 135 song on a 1g memory card with about enough room for anova 50. UNfortunatly, i very recently dropped mine down the toilet. i took it apoart n dried it in the airing cupboard. it works aprt from the touch screen which was very good. rly dissapointed, going for new nokia 5310 express music:)

it is very elegant and i find it very easy to use it doesn't have FM radio but that is okay as i don't listen to it that much.the camera is very good but i would use the middle button as the camera button tends to make the photos blurry and out of focus the paint doesnt peel so dont listen to what people have saitext is very easy aswell best phone i've had so far

Worst phone I've ever had, have had a few Samsungs and been very pleased. Thinking of changing back to Nokia after this! Same problem with the chrome rubbing off and dialling people in error (it then locks the keys so you can't easily end the call before it connects). Absolute rubbish do not buy!!!

. listen people dont get fooled by its good looks it has so many problems........ it will drive you mad unless you have the patience of a saint . i wanted to smash it up so many times instead i fooled someone into to buying it from me ..ha..ha i guess im consoling myself by puting the word out there i think people should wait untill samsung have corrected its problems with this type of phone ...should be taken off the market ...

i think that the u700 is wayyy lyk totally beterr than than the u600 coz its got a nicer look and is more attractive so i reccomend people who want to buy the u600 to buy the u700 as it is soo much better just think about it. also the u600's screen breaks more easily then the u700 and is more delicat and the u700 screen is way larger and glossier.

Dont be fool and buy this phone. The first month or so I thought the phone was good. After 8 months the thing has finaly died.. I am so happy its dead. I will never by Samsung again .2nd time in a row now.. Back to faithfull Sony Erricson....

I have had this phone for 3 months.I must say that U700 has very good functions , but there is a few thins that I don't like. His camcorder has very small resolution (176*144), and it's very easy to scratch this phone.However,I think that U700 is a good phone .

Im very disappionted with this phone. I got it a few months ago and alredy the silver finish has come off and the touch screen is very tempremental. I have also got a massive black smudge on the screen which apparently has been caused by pressure been applied to it. This makes it impossible to read parts of the screen, esp annoying for text messages. I has also noticed that recently the touch buttons have not been working at all and I have to press another button for them to become active and the lights come on. All in all DONT GET THIS PHONE!

I bought this phone just yesturday and am planning to return it back. I simply call this phone as one of the stupid phones ever released to the market. Am very disapointed can't control msg tone. volume is hardly noticable

i have this phone for 3 mos. the silver paint peeled in just less than 2 weeks of using this damn phone and then my worst problem now the menu button in the middle is not fuctioning i cnt turn off my bluetoot cant use another applications, it is still in waranty but damn im waiting almost a month for the button parts but unfortunately its not available,this phone ruined my life.... damn....

I worked for Vodafone for a little while, and about half the phones I saw in for repair were U700s. Everything seems to go wrong with them, and some customers were back as many as six times, trying to get one that actually worked. In addition to their hopeless software, they've also put a really poor charger port onto it, and the internal gold pin will bend and then refuse to work. Samsung maintained that this was abuse on the part of the user, but that doesn't account for half a dozen people coming in with the same issue around the same time. If I possibly could, I steered people away from the U700, because it's utter garbage.

the U700 lacks the same quality as the U600 as my phone keeps crashing and the screen sometimes goes blue. p.s. anyone who knows what the problem with my phone is please write back...HELP ME...:(

I purchased this fone 5 months ago...the paint has almost COMPLETELY, the phone is slow to respond. The touch screen and dialling is annoying, you can put people on hold without noticing. The video capture is poor quality. This is the worst phone i have purchased and i have owned other samsung models which were great.

This phone has much potential, it is guaranteed performance and efficirency when emergency or social atmosphere is truely perhaps has a one of a kind attitude.It a all time vanity rated phone everybody would love to dig theie into. This one is big.

have had so many samsungs and been delighted with them so was so excited to upgrade (what a laugh) from a d900 to the U700 but am soooo disappointed with it! have only had it ten days and it is going back today! like those below, it makes calls, video calls when you dont want it and sends blank texts to people in my phone book at all times of the night and day because its in my pocket or bag, even tho i have subsequently deleted contact from memory and phone book and all message and call details.the unlock feature is just a joke. then when you want the buttons to respond they dont. you have to slide shut to end call. you can put lock on but this only effective when handset open. when you are on a call it ends itself due to being held too close to your face, the only good thing i can find to say is that it looks good, but as we all know looks can be and are, unfortunetly, deceptive. c'mon samsung, what are you playing at.......PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE AS THO IT L OOKS THE PART IT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT!

Peels, bad reception, hangs up on people as the touch pads are too sensitive, battery runs out early. Overall a big disappointment.

This phone is the worse Samsung I have ever had, the imitation silver look peels off and the reception is very poor. I had a D600 previously and never had a signal problem. The touch buttons need pressing several times before they activate. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

I had this phone for over 4 months and recently just sold it, so thought I should leave a review. THe mirror on this phone was good..personally it's kind of a chic's phone..Other than that, the sound of the ring tones and music sucked cos it was not loud enough thus, half the time i missed a lot of calls cos it's usually in my bag. The touch pad was a pain at times cos it was very sensitive and sometimes my finger would accidentally touch it and it would go into other things. I also hated the fact that sometimes the touchpad cause me to dial ppl'z numbers by accident and I would have to hang up be4 anyone picks up! so overall...I've had better.

This phone is the biggest boom ting phone ever and i love it and i will try to go to a shop tomorwo to get it
