I have had a tocco lite for about two months, I am on the O2 network and no problems of note with lost calls thank goodness unlike other reviewers. This is a great phone, I love the qwerty key board which makes it so easy to text, very impressed with the camera & the preset focusing & zoom. the widget toolbar is also a great idea. The only drawbacks that i have found is some times that the touch screen does not respond first time (even after recalibration) & that you are unable to listen to the radio via blue tooth. but this is only a minor irritation on an excellent phone.

i am an older user and the tocco has been a very different phone to get used to after a normal key pad, that said the screen is crystal clear, , and general web pages are large due to being able to turn the screen to suit ,my only down side was the widget bar , it was all to easy to pick and load a widget from the side bar and find it was costing you money as you had loaded a site by mistake ,the simple answer to this for me was to remove preloaded widgets, end of problem, for the price it seems a very good phone it just remains to see how durable it is

Im getting a O2 samsung tocco lite for my Xmas. My friends have it and it is much easier to use than the LG Cookie. It look better and it is really good. You have a big selection of Apps and the camara is very good. It also has lots of diffrent ways for texting eg. You can write a letter with your finger and the letter will apper on the screen. I have never heard anything about O2 cutting phone lines. Im getting the O2 one cos it has loads of brillent deals! You can get it in Black, Pink, White and Grey. Overall a brillent phone.

I've had this phone for four days now and am just looking to see if the problems that I'm having are just down to me being picky: apparently not. My biggest problem is with the sound quality. I'm assuming that I just need a replacement as only some people are having sound issues, but the quality is sometimes like listening to a bad mp3 at full-volume, which hurts my ear. I've gone from the U900 Soul to this and, though the camera is better and it's a bit more swish, this phone has problems that the old one didn't; why are Samsung going backwards? I was initially really irritated by the apostrophe just being in a stupid place when texting, but that's something that I can deal with. Why I can't change theme, just the wallpaper, was mind boggling until I found sites that sell theme downloads. Also, I haven't yet found if I can access my phonebook during a call. Again, it's one of those things that isn't a massive deal, but when you're going from a lower model that could do these things, or if you've paid the amount that people seem to be paying, these little irritants shouldn't exist. The battery life is standard Samsung, which means that it's fine until you need to make a call or play a game. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of fully touchscreen phones, so there aren't really any new phones that I'd swap it for. I'll see if the sound problem is just my handset being faulty but maybe hang onto my U900 just in case I can't hack the 24 months.

I agree with some of the + and - reviews. Overall I love this phone but you need to have a special technique when using this phone. As a new person to touch screen but not to samsung, I found it very frustrating that when I wanted to go into one application something different came up. However I soon realised that the phone is more sensitive than I thought and little taps seem to do the trick. I do agree that texting can be annoying but once you get used to it its not so bad.

After reading all the reviews on here I was quite sceptic as to whether texting would be an issue however I have found this phone to be no harder to use than any other. If you dont use predictive text - like me - then most of Dan Searle's issue with this phone will not affect you at all. To people who want to scroll through their text message to change a character, etc, if you press and hold for about a second on the screen where your text is, 4 arrows will appear enabling you to scroll easily through. The camera is brillaint however the on-board memory is to be desired - now I've got my 8gb memory card thats no problem :). Also I find that my battery life is quite short, and I have to charge it every night, but to be fair I have only had my phone 2 days and I do play on it a lot! The sliding mechanism is a dream to use - when I was looking at a new phone my other choice was a Nokia N97 - however I thought the hinge on the NOkia would break and reviews on this website are much worse for the Nokia than the Samsung. Good little phone, especially if you're a girl!

I'm not sure why this phone has such good reviews, its rubbish! This is truly the worst phone I have ever had! the main reasons - 1) the lock does not work well, so if you are used to throwing in and out of pocket/bag - it will unlock. 2) If on O2 the software needs to be updated, as will cut out in mid conversation - very very annoying - means backing up entire phone online, waste of time. I haven't had time to do it yet and don't even know if it works. 3) no wifi 4) rubbish texting and spell check. 5) photo viewing is annoying some features you can side scroll and some you have to screen scroll. argh. Much better phones out there for this price.

just geting into my Tocco from an old Nokia 6630. Realy enjoying it so far, BUT tried loading the Samsung software onto my Laptop from the disc supplied, but it came up with at least 6 error windows. Had to download software from Samsung website, seems to be OK now. Process of loading songs onto Tocco using Samsung software is very slow, so changed setting on phone in PC Connections to Mass Storage, and this allows usual Windows copy/paste. Overall very pleased. I agree like most sensible reviews on here, this phone is annoying, the texting is annoying, the sied bar "widget" is very very annoying and wont go away. i dont have much positive to say about this phone... the video playback is probably the best thing about it, the games are rubbish, the internet is a pain to use. when are these touch screed phones going to go out of fasion, they are all rubbish as far as im concerned, the best phone i ever had was a sharpe GX10 / GX20 i think. i've not had a decent phone now for about 3 years. the problem is that when i was reading reviews before upgrading to the tocco, all phones around at the mo seem to have similar problems and so you have to try and buy the best of the worst..... hopefully someone will get it right soon. its simple really, a phone needs to be smallish, good camera, quick texting, good games, good applications, good memory, good battery power. basically fast to use with no faffing around....

Bought my phone yesterday. After reading various reviews I was a bit cautious to say the least but so far so good. It has been easy to navigate around but a stylus would be good. The qwerty keyboard is the way to go for me, much easier to use. I just wish that I could set the alarm as I use this function daily. ALso the calender widget seems to be stuck in 1980 and won't update - perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Somehow I managed to turn the volume down to zilch whilst messing about but thats now sorted! So as an older member of the public I'm well impressed and currently pleased with the purchase! Obviously I haven't tried the camera yet - which will be important to me, but I'm sure that will happen shortly! Personally I like Samsung products, they are good value for the value and generally deliver what they promise. My laptop has never let me down or their digital camera so I'm hoping that this will be the same.

Internet is quick 2 load n am reguarly on fb and av no troubles maybe if u have no nails then you may struggle as screen smaller than most touch screens. My battery life was rubbish when 1st bought but i tink i was dwnloading alot and was a novety and was having to charge everynight but now it lasts approx 3days before it starts beeping at me to charge. You carnt hold many msgs in your inbox mine max is 300 even with memory card tho it does say in memory status option it should hold 500 on just the phone but im not gonna rate the phone bad because of that lol....and i do agree that the memory card should be slotted into the side rather than have to take battery out each time but i have children so i think it great that they carnt take card out without my knowin if they get hold of my phone!!!! I just love this phone and would recommend to every1....i've always had nokias and sony's, this is my second samsung and they just get better and better!!! p.s if you dont like the samsung ring tones and messaging tones just dwnload a song and make tht your ringtone or message tone but then i thought thts wot most ppl do now a days!!!lol

If you are making a call and need to press numbers for a switchboard you have to take the phone away from your ear to do it and some of the contact numbers were hard to get as you the touch screen is really sensitive. There were some really cool features such as the camera which switches round automatically which ever way you are taking the picture and the screen was nice and big. I liked the texting features and other stuff, but I guess I'm a Nokia fan really.

Bought the phone a few weeks ago its a pretty good phone but there is only two problems, 1. The camera doesn't have a flash which is very annoying 2. The language button on text is right under the space and so i keep on accidentally switching language and then when i switch back to english the foreign words are in my dictioanry such as.. to comes up as Vo and not comes up as On't :-S anyone know how to delete these words, it would be much appreciated.

This is phone is really easy to work with. The camera is pretty good and the music player rocks! It might not have WI-FI and it might not be 3G but it is pretty quick whilst on the internet and using bluetooth. I have read some of the reviews and in nearly everyone, people are saying your call goes dead for a few seconds and then comes back on and I have just realised my phone does that too but only for a few seconds and it's really not a major problem. I also like the Cookie because it has an app that allows you to make videos out of pictures but the Tocco Lite doesn't allow you to do that but it doesn't bother me as the Tocco Lite is a much easier phone to work with and I'd reccomend it to anyone!

I bought this phone 3 months ago from Phones 4U on O2 pay monthly. This phone is the worst i have had. I have not been able to make or receive one phone call without the phone cutting out during calls. I have been back to Phones 4U and O2 who suggested putting my SIM card into a different phone. I have done this & had no problems making calls so its clearly the handset which is the problem and after reading other people's reviews, it seems getting another handset will not help. Maybe this is a handset problem, or maybe a problem with O2? Either way, i am very tempted to throw mine in the bin as i cannot stand a further 21 months of this! And to add to my fury, i got a £114 bill last month apparently for 'downloads' yet i have only browsed the net probably 5 days since having the phone and it clearly states in the manual no matter how long you use the net, only wil only get charged a maximum of £1 per day. Another lie! Please beware!

Okay and also why doesn't it have flash?! In some websites they say it does but in other they say it does not? Also a stylus pen should really come with the phone so that it is easier to text. Other than those I found the phone fantastic to be honest looked good in the shop and is good and easy to use! :D

Right. Used this phone for 3 months or so now. Not had it 1 day, and not "played with a mates". My first touch screen phone, I find it pretty good, better than earlier LGs. Camera is good, but the way it stores photos is irritating. Phone is generally easy to navigate and user friendly. I do have to agree with people about the txting. Even with the keypad its not the easiest. "I'm" is not available to write at all, and any words you save in the dictionary then become first choice when using predictive txt (MOT, FOS etc), and even some words that arent words - "On't" for example! Generally I like the phone, but the best bit is that its RELIABLE, my last 2 Sony Ericcsons have been so awful, this phone has not let me down, no matter how many times I drop it. It doesnt freeze or crash. Thats why I like it.

Dan Searle's report on the phone is pretty much perfect. however there is just one thing i think he may have missed out. Firstly, this is my first experience with the sumsung tocco's so I am not aware of some of the changes to the texting... however what I do experience which is the most annoying of all, (as I've now gotten used to the first annoyance of texting which dan mentioned) is the fact that when you start texting in predictive, simple words like: and, get, all... for a start, i haven't added any new words to my phone, but my phone has decided to invent its own new words.. instead of and, i get Ame.. instead of get i get Ift... all is Alk for a start, why in the world has it done that? is there any way of deleting added words to this phone because thats the only thing I'm getting frustrated with. these words just randomly appeare from nowhere.. I don't know if any one else is having this problem, or if it's been a problem in all the other tocco phones but is there any way of deleting these made up words? Other than that, I've not really had much of an issue with my phone.. its my first touch screen and yea I'll agree with previous posts that its a little slow and the browser is quite rubbish and small, but its an alright phone really. Not worth the massive contract for it through.

Bought this a week ago with a PAYG SIM from Phones4U as I'd dropped my work mobile (Nokia)at Wembley Stadium and it was kaput. Phones4U were great and installed both my PAYG SIM (Vodaphone) and my work contract SIM (O2). Never had any problems with O2 and had a long convo with British Gas on speaker phone when their web site went screwy - a mission and a half. Voice reception and transmission were ace. Only gripe is I can't figure out how to navigate Google Maps but then I'm an uncool wrinlky ;) - On a scale of 1 to 10 for the money this must come in at an easy 9.5 so much so we've bought another two for the kids.

Only my second Samsung phone - I've been a Sony Ericsson user for as long as I can remember. It's taking some getting used to purely because I'm used to my familiar Sony, but for my needs there's not much to dislike. I love the look of it. I love the touch screen for texting. The widgets can be useful as shortcuts. I hate the fact that the user manual is so non-descript. I've found it more useful to search the net for tips and instructions than the manual provided. I too was frustrated at the apparent inability to cursor back a space when trying to correct a text, but thank you to "Tocco from Australia" for pointing out that if I hold my finger on the screen for a few seconds, lo - arrows appear - I can't see that in the manual anywhere! Likewise with the birthday widget - I had to find out about that from the internet. Come on...useful manuals please. I love fiddling around with a new gadget, but not to the point that I have to trawl the net to get basic useful functions explained. It's taken me long enough to work out how to change ringtones/volume/key sounds etc due to lack of instruction. Love the camera quality. No problem it seems with sound quality - other than the fact that I had to turn the volume down considerably as initially it sounded as though I had calls on loud speaker. My phone seems quite responsive to touch, although my daughter had hers the same day and compared to mine hers does seem a little slower. I like it so far. A little broader than the phones I've been used to having, but a snazzy phone.

this phone is rubbish do not get!!!! i always get samsung phones and this has got be the worst one in my experience..... battery life is rubbish have to charge everyday, the touch screen can be very slow and irresponsive. When writing a text if you want to go back to previous words and edit forget it its a joke tring to select it with the touch screen and there is no button that can go back through the text only cancel!! when i open up my pictures it will all of a sudden just start flicking through them before me even selectng anything to view and the only way round this is to switch the phone off and back on again and hope it works!! the back of the case has scratched considerably. And the worst of all the screen has developed and pink/purple fuzzy line around the outside of the whole screen which is getting worse over time then eventually I will not be able to use at all which is due to no fault of mine. Now i am stuck with this peice of rubbish for 18 months gutt ed!! the only plus on this phone is that it is stylish and looks nice which draws you into buying then lets you down!!

I upgraded to this phone from the Tocco. I absolutely love this phone to bits. The camera is excellent, with or without the flash and the widgets just make everything so much easier because it saves you having to navigate through the entire menu. A great time saving phone. The touch screen does take getting used to but once I got used to it I found everything, especially predictive texting, was fantastic. For those who were annoyed with the punctuation mark issue (T9 changes the word etc) select the word you want from the drop down list and then add your punctuation. Still very quick and easy once you realise this! This phone is very light, slim and fits in my jeans pocket brilliantly I sometimes forget its there! The only thing that let me down was the battery life but that was remedied by turning off the phone sounds and vibration (which I dont like anyway). The one thing I think this phone could've done without was the slide out key pad. Its hard to hold the phone and text with it all in one hand. Overall, for people who arent sure about touch screen phones shouldnt get this phone unless they're willing to learn and get to grips with it. A much better version than its predicessor the Tocco. A fantastic phone!

Today I had a try with semi-working models of both the Cookie (KP500) and the Tocco Lite. One big difference I did notice is that the touch interface is much much better on the Tocco Lite. The Cookie (which one retailer told me they had had several returned due to being faulty) I found slow and sometimes unresponsive, where the Tocco Lite's screen responds instantly to a natural, gentle touch. Just a shame it doesn't have Wi-Fi or 3G
