I've had this phone for 5 months, and it has developed a couple of faults. It re-starts several times per day totally at random, battery needs charging daily and the network lock is lost at random too (it's done this ever since I used the 'off line mode' - Carphone Warehouse said it was a known firmware fault, but when I took it back, they decided to blame it on liquid damage and refuse to repair or replace, but as it's never been wet, and the battery shows no sign of moisture on the blue panel, I think they are just being idiots). The phone itself is OK, although I miss the lack of a document viewer, and it doesn't seem to like displaying certain JPG files from the MicroSD card. Music player sounds awful, even with an adapter and high-end (£150) headphones. WAP browser is decent enough, especially on an EDGE connection, and Java support is good - I use Opera Mobile (full web browser) and it works fine, although the tiny screen is a problem sometimes. Overall, £45 f or this phone was 4 star value, and it's an above average basic phone. I reduce it to 2 because of the rapid development of the faults

I've had the j700 for a while now and not had many problems with it, compared with other phones it does lack features. I've dropped it LOADS of times and its fine. My battery lasts for about 3-4 days, but when i turn it off i cannot turn it back on until i plug in a charger and then it says i have no battery left, even though id had full before id turned it off. I also have another problem, i normally have my memory card in all the time but i have been using it for something else for about a week and i put it back in and now it freezes and shuts down the phone, when i try to turn it on (with the mem card) it doesnt, trys itself multiple times, only works when it doesnt have the mem card in. Other than that its an ok phone but only because its so cheap, now i wouldnt pay more than £15 for it.

Ive had the phone 2 months now and ive had no problems at all , the cameras alright and the memorys not brilliant but what more can you except from a cheap phone ? Its easy to use and great for the basic tools like texting and calling ect. I would reccomend this phone to younger users maybe as a first phone ? Or elder people as its very easy to use.

ive had this phone for 8 months and so far ive had to send it of to be repaired four times. I would not recomend this phone, as it freezes, has poor memory and does not hold its charge. The camera is brillint when you first get it but then it gets foggier and pictures are not as good quality. Also the memory is rubbish as it holds about 10 photos and one song. On the plus side though it is easy to use, has quick bluetooth sending and is good value.this phone is okaii.

As an older user I find this phone far easier to operate then my husband's Sony Ericsson. Navigation is pretty straightforward and I have found the apostrophe(mentioned by another reviewer) easily -press hash key, select box containing required punctuation mark, select number of correct mark and press OK! All in all a nice looking phone with as much technology as I require for my simple life!!!

I bought a J700 in November via Tesco Mobile and less than 2 months later I have a mobile with a shattered inner screen which Tesco have told me I have damaged and it couldn't possibly be a fault with the phone, regardless of the fact that there is not one scratch, dent or mark on the outer skin. They say the outer skin can withhold so much pressure that it won't mark but that the inner screen, the one with all the technology, won't withstand the same pressure so will crack. One minute it was fine in my pocket the next it is unusable. Don't like the fact that it's been put down as my fault, so I'm not happy with the phone or Tesco Mobile. They say if it was a fault it would have cracked as soon as i started to use it, not 2 months later. I'd think twice before choosing another Samsung or slider phone.

Ok for the price but with serious flaws. The Camera cannot address an added microSD memory card directly, so when the internal 10 megs fills up with pics and ringtones you have to do some housekeeping and shunt stuff off to the card then free up space for more pics! Quite annoyingly you can set the data path for bluetooth received data to go directly the card and some other types of data, but not the camera. Also ringtones have to be in the onboard memory too. If you assign a mp3 from the card to id ringtone , it will then copy the track to the internal memory to use it. That said, sound quality is excellent but remember, this is a budget phone after all.

I've just bought this phone and I really think it's good. The camera isn't the best but if you get a camera on t's own it doesn't matter anyway. The glossy effect makes it look classy and good quality and the slide is good. It plays music well but the only bad thing about it is that the memory is awful. I'm going to buy a 2GB memory card so that it might hold more than 4 photos and 3 songs! By the way, to the person who said the reception is bad: fyi that's not the phones fault. Ask around where you live and get orange or vodafone or something that has good signal around the eviroment you live in.
