I bought this phone for my son at Christmas, I am now awaiting my second replacement and it's only half through March. Have found Orange not easy to deal with and despite the fact two of these phones have not worked for more than two weeks, Orange will not refund me or let me get a different phone. Maybe I've been unlucky but to have had two that don't work does not instill any confidence in me that a third will make any difference. I have had no apology or recognition of the amount of time I've wasted phoning their customer help desk or at their shop. Would definitely avoid Orange in the future. Sure, it's only a 2 mexapixel. That's a big clue about the quality of the camera right? This is a great little phone - very easy to use and the battery life is excellent. IMHO, the on screen keypad is much better than that available on the iPhone - the phone vibrates slightly when you hit a key - very cool! Writing Messages Is Also Easy And It Has Apps Like Convertor And Stuff. On Orange, It Has 3 Pages On The Menu (I Dont No If Its Like That On Other Networks). It Also Has Great Memory. I Think this Is The Best Phone Ive Ever Had! The Only Little Problem Is It Takes Quite A While To Turn on, But That Dont Matter Much. Unfortunately, I bought this just before it went down in price, but I thought I would be trendy and try a touch screen. I really wish I hadn't bothered. I have had this 3 months and it has been back for repair more than it has actually been working. Every time I charge the phone it completely freezes, it won't charge and then it won't turn on. The touch screen is completely out of sync with what you want it to do and far too sensitive. I have gone back to the very reliable Sony Ericsson. DO NOT BUY GENIO TOUCH!!! You get two free covers with it which are great. Remember that people generally leave reviews if they are upset with the phone so there is a really small chance you get a phone that doesnt work properly. Enjoy the phone! I deal with handset faults every minute of my working day and I have got to be honest, this handset is one of the only phones I have NEVER had to deal with any problems for! So can't be that bad a phone (My star rating is based on the fact that I haven't dealt with any problems from this handset and not from a customer point of view and does not mean that this handset doesn't have problems) alot of the problems mentioned here are easily fixed anyway. I got it 2 days ago on o2 and its amazing. I wasn't to keen on having a white backed phone but you get two other backs with it ( black one and a patterned one ) It is recommended to charge the phone for 24 hours but I only had to do it for 3 hours and it still have full bars! Also, it is the first time I have had a full touch screen phone and I wasnt sure it would be that good but it is. The touch screen is so easy to use, seriously! the camera is only 2MP but I think it is still pretty good with like 5 different effects(: so all the people saying that there disapointed because of the camera then if you wanted a phone with an amazing camera then buy one with a better mega pixel or get a camera! I got a USB lead with mine, though I havnt tried it yet as I have a blue tooth adapter. Before getting the phone I read a variety of reviews and wasnt to sure as many said " its rubbish " and others said " its amazing " Though I took a chance and it IS am azing trust me (; , Overall I think the phone itself is very stylish and lightweight Hopee This Helped Youu! I got it at xmas + normally get bored of phones by this time, but its great! If I'm on my phone for like 15 minutes non stop it starts pressing things that I dont want it to, even when my fingers aren't near the screen but if you leave it for a few minutes its fine. Ive noticed people having trouble putting music onto their phone via USB, I also had this problem but figured if you first go to MENU;SETTINGS;PHONE SETTINGS; Scroll down to PC Connections and then you see 3 options. Tried with a Sony Erricson and another samsung but stops halfway thru- VERY irritating.Very long battery life- been on for about 12 hours a day for 3 days and havent had to charge it yet- low battery tho! Touchscreen is easy to use, txting is easy, phoning is easy, screen lock is clever and i LOVE the widgets. Only complaint is the bluetooth situation! Just because the colours are a bit unusual doesnt mean the phone is going to be decent because its not. Ive played on this phone quite a few times and its boring, absolutely boring. If you are looking for a decent phone i recommend the LG cookie. Its fun and its good looking. I have it at the moment and havent had any problems with it. I used to have the HTC Touch HD (£500 touchscreen smart phone!) and found I didn't use a lot of the functions and it was very glitchy. Which is one of the reasons I sold the HTC and bought the Genio. This has been the BEST phone I've ever had. It's easy to use - text and calling, looks good, you can change the cover, light weight. SIMPLY FAB! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!! I haven't had any problems that anyone here seems to have had. It has never frozen on me and all my widgets work fine. it's easy to use and has some great features! I got mine from O2, came with usb cable and software and i have had no issues with putting music onto it. I bought the phone as it looks nice, and was reasonable price. I am expecting a child, and this phone is not practical as freezes for hours at a time, not even allowing me to make a call, which I will need to soon when baby decides to show up. Rating: Reviewed by l3m0n on 26/01/2010 i want to buy this phone from what i have heard and seen its really good. my friend has got the samsung genio qwerty and that is fab the bluetooth is good and its nice and simple and fast. the battery isnt that long but the trick is to put your charger on your bedside table and charge it every night its simple. right now ive got the samsung u800 the battery runs out fast but i charge it every night. i would say the only downside is the camra its only 2 meg but who needs a 12 meg camra on a phone- and the is no flash o well!! and apparently you only get three colours o well!! im really looking forward to getting it the one i wont is only £40 kwell (from 02) Rating: Reviewed by Emma Jones on 26/01/2010 This is a really good phone if you want something simple to use, but i've only had it since xmas and have already got two chip's on both side. I am usually very carefull with my phone but i took it out of its mobile sock and there was a chip, then a few weeks after i just came home from hockey and saw another chip. I've tryed asking vodafone if they could fix it , but they said there would be a fine. I would reccomend it though since its so easy to use!! At first the scrolling can be annoying because sometimes you click on to a completely different function, but once you get used to the feel of the phone, it's fine! Or you can just use the volume keys to scroll. And there's also a lot of apps. You have a dictionary, calculator, converter, Yahoo or Google, Memos, Alarms, and loads more! The screen is bright & clear, the audio is as loud as you need & clear in calls. Its has more features than most phones of its kind, and more JAVA apps can be added in a second :) The camera has no auto-focus, but apart from that, if held steady it does give an acceptable photo in normal to dim light. Video recording is great too, and includes bright control for at night, plus a selection of modes and other functions. Even an under water simulation LoL It's menu has access to 29 functions, plus a main screen with fast/fancy 'widget' access to things you use most. Even without any use of the manual, I had it all working in about 10 minutes, & have only had a browse in the manual to be nosey today. Everything else became obvious very fast. The touch screen works fine, but note its best for teens or females (oops), as it seems to prefer smaller fingers, for my big ones it sometimes mis-keys a bit. Battery life is about 4 days in good use, with many txts, and casual calls & internet use. Bad points? just a couple of niggles:- When typing texts & stuff, i find it a little awkward with my big fingers, and the touchscreen-keys layout is a little odd, but usable. The cam should have had auto-focus, but its other features & ease of use for general messing about more than make up for it :-D The built-in web browser is irritating for many sites as it auto-adjusts to text so small its unreadable, but . . you can ZOOM in easily, and also download another JAVA web browser instead. It plays video perfectly (in portrait or landscape), but . . what happened with YOUTUBE? it plays so slow & badly - maybe another video player would fix that point? or maybe it isn't fast enough on just GPRS like I have? I'd happily recommend this phone, for anybody who wants a fun model that does so much. Nothing is perfect, but this comes about 85% there. But (and there always is a but) it is sometimes quite annoying when you want to text with a keyboard but you can't because it doesn't come with that feature, also it is annoying when your trying to make a picture go on only one 'slide' but the picture always has to be spread out over three. The colours appeal to people, and the changable covers are fun for when you get bored of the same old colour. It's surprisingly easy to use, and the Facebook and Twitter widgets are much easier to use than on any other phone I've seen that have them. Alot of my friends have the LG cookie, and they say it's rubbish compared to what I have now. This is the best phone I have ever had, and the only let down is the camera, because my old phone had 5megapixels, but thats the only problem tbh. I wanted it since i first saw the advert, because it looked great.. i went onto the carphone warehouse website to see and read about it and then thought about changing my mind about buying it... but my mate bouught one and it was soo much fun, he said it hadn't froze once with him so i trusted him and asked for it for christmass... since then it has been amazing, yes the camara isn't the best but its actually not that bad, it's a very clever phone. My music is good, and if you get a memory card like i did (actually it was my mums old one) it works like a charm so yeah i'de say it was a good phone. It doesn't come with any games and I have been unable to download from either Samsung website or T-mobile. Half way through a download an error message appears 'invalid content'. According to the Samsung website Guitar Hero World Tour is compatible with the Genio Touch. Game cost £4.50 but did not download. T-mobile said the phone wasn't compatible with this game. I have tried other games and they will not download either. I am 13 and i think its the perfect phone. I got mine in yellow, but you can get it in pink, orange, white, purple, or just plain black. The touchscreen is so responsive and it clicks in the right place all the time. The 'T9' text option (predictive text) is very useful and has most words. It is very updated. The camera is ok and actually is pretty good when it comes to videoing. The phone memory is impressive, i got 69 MB. The phone itself is very sleek and i am proud to own a samsung genio. Everyone says to me 'oooh, i love your phone!!' I reccomend you get it, it is very much better than the tocco lite/ultra. my friend has the tocco and its not really that good. Its light and fits in my pocket just fine, its very up to date and lets you chose what colour you desire. Its a easy to use touch screen, it is very clear to understand and it supplies you with very useful little apps. I say its a bargain, i bought this today for a reasonable £80. The only problems i have with it is that the camera is not very good, it tends to crash a bit, and i do not understand how to set an image as the wallpaper.. it just come up with a little box. It's light-weight, it's easy to use and stylish, everything that I ask for in a phone. The ONLY problem that I've found is photos that were on my memory card do not fit onto my background because it makes it over all three home-screens. This is a bit annoying but I can live with it. Almost perfect, would suggest it to anyone! I think it worth the money, and u will enjoy using it. I also checked LG Cookie but it didnt seem as good as Genio Touch. It is small and compact, and the touchscreen is easy to use although quite sensitive. I am really pleased with it, and I think it is such a good idea that you can change the cover when you get bored of the current one. It is such good value for money too! It has froen only once or twice, partly my fault because I was making it do too many things at once. The texting is great, and there is a cure for text repetition! Go in settings/profile/text notifictions and change the setting to once only! There is a cure for all you moaners. I dont know how anyone could say it is a wful phone. It is amazing, all sorts on there. You people are just expecting too much, the Genio is fab. Go us Genio ppl!! I haven't got mine yet, well, i have but im not allowed it until Christmas which is really annoying seeing as my brothers playing around with his new HTC Hero. Its amazing , The colours are great, everyrthing aboiut it is great, touchscreen is very responsive and is very durable (I have dropped it 4 times in the past week, and no scrathches are visible!!) Oh and keep the protective cover on it . It helps if your a butterfinger's like me. Haha. Dont know why everyone is complaining asbout the camera. 2mp is enough for a phone, and remember this phone is aimed at teens, so if you want a camera, quit complaining and buy one!! Battery life is awesome, it lasts at least 2 days with alot of texting and music playing. USB cables come with the phone!! And they do work!!Overall i would rate this phone 4 and 1/2 stars. Internet cannot handle facebook. No 3g So youtube is out of the question. Camera has no flash. Would not reccomend this phone to anyone who wants text allot. As i say brilliant price.
