danny, try to restart the phone by taking the battery out, that can help it to clear some of ( dormant ) problemas within the phone., if you go to settings, then wireless and network, then go to mobil networks, there i have data connection on. also from wireless and network go to wi-fi setttings, there i have wi-fi on and network notification on too. VERY important ( APPS ) uninstall them if you dont use them, apart from slowing down the os i found that some of them make the phone do strange things including switch the phone off and you cannot turn it on by pushing the on/off button, only by taking the battery out it can start again. i hope it helps.

Quite outstanding. I had the Galaxy as an upgrade (plus £35) from Orange and it has impressed me hugely. The screen is astonishing - massively clearer and 30% bigger than the screen on the iPhone (which it tops in almost every other respect, too). It doesn't have a camera flash but, as I'm a pro photographer with loads of Canon SLRs, I don't care! This is a superb, and beautiful, phone.

what can i say, LOVE IT! what a fantastic phone, i literally cannot put it down. only glitch ive experienced so far is the signal sometimes but if your on T mobile you can text "yes" to 2121 and it automatically switches you to orange if your signal goes down. other than that i would reccommend it to any1 over the i phone 4, at least the majority of things are free and you can bluetooth any phone, def move over apple!

bought Galaxy S last week and have had no luck with this phone, cannot connect onto the internet, doesn't allow me to access the aps or downloads. Went to phone shop and asked about problems but they said it was something to do with the 360 network. Can anyone help me. If not the phone will be returned.

Had the phone for 2 days now and I'm hugely impressed with the quality of the screen and the resolution. I put up a Nokia 5800 for 4 months and can't believe I suffered for so long! I've got all my email addresses set up, including work as I do work after hours all too often. It handles mail smoothly and presents work emails in a better format than the web client I was using on my PC. Scrolling through emails is smooth and the 'pinch to zoom' function works superbly. Internet access likewise is great. The jury is still out on Music Player. I am a long time user of Walkman phones, and haven't found anything that is as good yet. I'm particularly impressed with the notifications bar you pull down from the top of the screen. New emails and messages all nicely presented, and from there switching on and off all the power hungry applications (Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, & vibration) is just a touch of a button. Handling the phone is taking a bit of getting used to - it's so much wider than I'm used to. It also feels strange that it isn't any heavier but looks like it should because of its size. All in I'm happy with this phone and look forward to having it for a long time.

This Phone is a nightmare!!!! I have had two brand new Samsung Galaxy S upgrades within the space of 5 days. This first one had a faulty headphone jack socket, and only worked through one earpiece or 'No Earpieces', depending on how you jiggled it, but at no point did you get sound through both earpieces. I complained to the supplier and got an immediate replacement, only to find that the internal speaker was faulty, and therefore it was so faint, you could't hear anyone speak when either making or receiving a call, even on 'max' volume !!!! I have had enough with this phone and lost faith. I have therefore insisted that it is replaced, but this time with an HTC Desire. I can't believe I have been so unlucky to get the only two faulty phones in circulation. Samsung's 'quality control' must be virtually none existant!

I've had the phone three weeks now and am really disappointed with it because the whole Kies software is so rubbish - I can't connect to my music collection properly, can't manage files and find the lack of any back up from Samsung utterly infuriating. All the support on the internet is from informal groups with members who are plainly very computer literate and so way beyond me. On the basis of my experience I would ignore Samsung and Android and go for the iPhone. Really, I have wasted so much of my life trying to get this thing working that I could have enjoyed some other way.

Okay, so I have had the phone a couple of months now having bought based on this sites reviews. My decision to buy the phone in the end was decided by the rip off price of the Iphone and the call drop problems. So rather than spend £120 to get an Iphone I saved that and got the Galaxy S on a lower tariff. So the good bits... the phone feels good to hold and is of reasonable build quality. It is not particularly intuitive but once learnt it is pretty straight forward to use.. download the manual though as you will need it! . Without doubt it has a great screen and a generally good selection of android apps. Calls seem fine with no dropped calls despite the continuous low number of bars. The sat nav is fine and whilst not exactly Tomtom quality it works well and saved me £120 odd to replace my broken one. The Swpe is very good as is the voice stuff. The bad bits.... 2 months in why so much screen lag? The apps are fine but are 2nd slightly best to iphone apps. They tend to be either very USA or Korea orientated for some reason. Finally the worst bits .. bloody Kies, poor battery life and no flash! What Muppet decided that a phone without a flash was a good idea and who believed the software employee who said Kies now works boss? Both need sacking. I might have saved on a new sat nav but have to buy a camera instead that I can use at night! In addition I cant back up as I cant connect the phone to Kies. Battery life is not good although with very careful gaily management (task kill apps, turn everything off when not using, buy spare batteries and have a car and spar ehouse charger!) So finally, overall this is a good phone. It would have been brilliant if the above had been fixed or provided. I do hope that the Froyo upgrade does address at least the lag which is getting worse the more apps I add. Would I buy this phone again? No..... for me and my usage needs I think I would wait for the next version which hopefully has a flash or whatever comes out by then.

Had mine for a few weeks now, and loving it. Originally had a Sony X10 and had to swap it due to it's incredibly low earpiece volume (unusable outside in-fact), and this is one of many frequent issues with the X10. The galaxy S is a superior phone in every way to the X10, including the camera despite being have a lesser resolution and no flash. The screen is stunning, perhaps not the sharpest but colour and brightness is incredible due to the Super AMOLED technology. The touch screen has never caused me issues and is always super responsive. Ok, there are very (very) few negatives, but I'll list the only ones I've encountered... - Very light weight and a little flimsy feeling, but I now use a gel case with it and it feels a lot better and solid. - no camera flash, it's a big shame as the camera is good in bright conditions, so could be fantastic with a flash. - Apple look-a-like styling. Again, shoving it in a gel case makes it look and feel different, but the Samsung modified menus are just a little close the iphone, and has led to many remarks from my pals. BUT, don't let these very minor points put you off. From my bad experience with the Sony X10, I know this phone is very good, and one thing which the Galaxy S absolutely trumps the X10 on is simple usability. Texting, calling and menu's are fantastic and just sheer fun to use. I send so many more texts just because it's fun to do so. Obviously, a lot of this comes from the great Android OS, but Samsung's touches are nice (despite their obvious Apple rip off). Overall 10/10, can hardly fault it!

Ok I'll start on a positive note. This phone is fantastic! Really quick browsing, I honestly don't notice a difference between my laptop and phone. There are loads of apps out there, just like the Iphone. A lot of the good ones are free. The screen is amazing too. Perfect if you like to shrink your movies to 3GPP format and watch them on the go. It really does tick all the boxes. Why only 3 stars? In a nutshell, it basically doesn't work. Freezes, forced close of apps, switches off itself. I've heard this is because its running Android and a Samsung Op system at the same time. I'm on my 3rd replacement since the end of July, which is a same cause it could have been an amazing phone

fantastic styling and responsive. However, the battery is somewhat of a let down, could just about manage a day's worth of use. Screen seems to be taking all of the battery use (like 70%, that's with the screen turned to the dimmest setting) More worryingly, the handset has failed to located my location (said i was in cornwall, when i was actually in london!!) whilst using google map and other location based services (both with and without G swtiched on) And when on earth will the android 2.2 come out? SUch a shame that such a beautiful and sppedy phone is let down but the little details...

There is an actual count down timer. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Mobile Phone UK during your test did you come across this issue? Can this time be amended to have the visibility switched on until the Bluetooth is off?

Sensational phone! Like many, for me it was a decision between the Galaxy and the iPhone 4 and am very happy with the outcome. Bigger and better quality screen, very fast operating system, much better value for money plus pretty much all the good android apps are free. I haven't had any problems with lag that some people are talking about, nor battery life since I got the free advanced task killer app (2-3 days with reasonably heavy usage) but I do wish the camera had a flash. Would recommend to anyone!

Im finding the market very hard as its all american, unless nebody knows how 2 change this?? Doesnt seem 2 have much of interest, they guy who sold it 2 me said it was better than the iphone but i dont think so, the iphone has FAR more choice and its british. Camara takes great pictures but shame it has no flash you would think a phone like this would have a simple thing like a camara flash.

Have this phone since July having upgraded from SE K905. I wanted a phone what had great multi-media, good internet adn a camera. Ok there's no flash but it's a small price to pay. This is a fantastic phone. Keis can be tempremental at times but I use it rarely so it's no bother. The music play back is unreal and the video is fantastic. Internet is very user friendly if you download opera and you get flash with Skyfire so no need for the youtube app. I get 5 days batetry out of this, 3 if I listen to a lot of music. Needed a few good charges and a free task killer to get to 5 days though but it lasts at least as long as my K905 did. Very impressed. As for the size, it is big but the weight compensates for that and I feel it less in my pocket than most other phones I've tried, many a lot smaller.
