The Samsung E900 is a small and stylish top of the range camera phone. The phone has a sleek surface with a touch-sensitive control pad and has a two-tone finish in black and slate giving it a glass-like touch-screen keypad. It is a slim and compact sliding phone weighing just 93g with a dimension of 93 x 45 x 16.5 mm.
The phone has a very good camera with 2 megapixels, 4 x digital zoom, and with the flash you are able to take pictures in poor lighting. The camera also has video recording capabilities supporting MPEG4, H.263 and AAC formats.
The display is an excellent TFT screen meaning that it is visible even in bright sunlight. It has 262k colours and the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels which is one of the highest quality screens at the moment.
The E900 comes with a great stereo MP3 player supporting the formats ACC, ACC+, e-ACC+ and WMA. It has a 64-voice polyphonic sound which means that it is capable of playing 64 notes simultaneously. As well as polyphonic tones, it is also able to use MP3's as ringtones. With 80MB of internal memory and the space for an external MicroSD memory card, there is plenty of space to store music and other files on your phone.
This phone has great connectivity via Bluetooth, USB and TV-Output. The TV output connection allows you to view images and videos directly on a TV with the use of the document viewer as this enables you to transmit your files to a projector or present them on a TV or computer. Bluetooth enables you to wirelessly connect to another Bluetooth device up to 10 metres apart whilst connecting to a PC is done with a USB cable.
Connecting to the internet is done via EDGE data transfer rates. This is a very fast connection, providing up to three times faster rates then GPRS. 3G however is the fastest available at the moment.
The phone works on a tri-band operating frequency so it will work in Europe and America but not Japan. It has an average battery life of up to 220 hours of standby time.
Overall this is a very good phone with an MP3 player and camera that both rate above average for phones within this price range. The design of the phone looks very stylish although there have been some complaints about the sensitive keypad.

I have had this phone for a few weeks now changed from a d500 to this one although I quite like it there are a few features that I have found disappointing one of them is the very sensitive touch screen that does have a tendancy to send you back to the home screen if your finger goes anywhere near it and the other is that it has very limited ring tones for the alarms you cant use your ring tones for the alarm settings has to be from the sounds menu which you cant download tunes to. Apart from that it is a pretty decent phone and fairly easy to use.

No voice activation. Very poor quality camera with unbearable shutter lag. The touch keys drove me nuts, couldn't stop accidently exiting menus, deleting characters and cutting people off. Sent it straight back and got a proper phone.

i got the pink ersion of this and ADORED IT!! i loved eveything about it and soon mastered the touch sensative buttons so they were'nt a problem. but as soon as i charged it second time round it would restart its self over and over again, when i was in the middle of texting or editing my pictures!! 2 phones later it still did the same.... my advice be careful and definatly think twice before you buy it....[x]

Well... i got this phone for christmas (3 months ago) n when i saw it i thought wow! but the touch senetive keypad is really hard to get used too! i still have the odd moment now! and when your writing a text there is no cancel buten, it is the phone down button n if u want to delete half a text u have to keep pressing it, u cant hold it down or else it deleted the whole text! it all ways looks dirty with the finger prints, and the whole phone is glossy so it scratches really easily! its better tyhan the LG chocoalte cos it isnt all outch buttons, the directional buttons are like normal. the shutter speed is really slow so you press the button n it takes ages to actually take the picture, and can be very annoying. The music player is good. the battery life is okay, not the best, but not as bad as the lg chocoalte! i think the phone looks tacky in pink or red! it only looks nice in black! overall the phone is ok! n thats all im giving it! i am getting a new one cos i h8 the touch sensetive keypad! i end up callin everone! oh and when u call someone, the keypag locks! its really annoying. and when u dont press a button dow ages, the touch sensetive turnes off! totally annoyin! xxxxxx i am not considering the d840 or the nokia 6288 or nokia n73!

Ive had this phone for just over a week now and absolutely love it! It looks great and works great too ... the only problem I have found is that the 'cancel' button is on the wrong side where your thumb is so it is often pressed by mistake which can be extremely annoying. It is great for left handed people as they will not always keep pressing it by mistake but for all us 'righty's' it can be a bit of a nightmare. However as long as u get the nack of not pressing it, it is fine. Other than that I would deffinately reccomend it to others!

I bought this phone and got rid of my d500 (great phone) and i was a huge mistake!! this phone scratches easily especially the screen and the touch buttons evry1 says u get use 2 them u dnt but u dnt! u nock yourself out of texting all the time! DO NOT BUY!!! i now have a samsung E870! its fab!! just like my d500

rubbish i have had the phone under a week now and every time i go and try and look at my messages the whole phones startes vibrating for no reason at all!!!!! has any one else had this problem?? i am taking the phone back to the shop seriously dispointed.

og dnt plp moan alot i work for phone company and i knw wot phone are on market that are gd and bad firstly this phone is fine plp who just moan are idiots i mean be careful wit phone there wont be scratches and dnt put ya fingers ova the touch screen it wont call people. i mean as for peaople goin on about the nokia haha there worst all the software is wel #### i knw this for fact!!!!!! amsung d900 is fine use it right knw the settings ull be fine plp so pickey these days !!!!!!!!!!

i have had this phone before i had it for about 5 weeks then, the phone is good the camera is good, the touch buttons can be abit annoying at times you could be writing text and then touch one of the buttons by accident and it knocks it all off and another thing is that the music is really quite and that can be really anoying also!

Looks really pretty, but you can't help but keep accidently phoning people (usually whilst texting)because of the touch sensitive buttons. Nice idea just poorly designed.

This is a great phone, had it for a year and it's still working fine, although the slide is getting a bit ropey. Camera is great with good picture integrity, although all the pictures I take blur quite a bit, not sure if it's just me. Video camera is great also, with long recording time. The loudspeaker is quite tinnny, and the music player only lets you have 4 playlists which is rubbish. Because of the camera and music player I give this 4 stars instead of 5.

this phone is noting to get excited about the touc screen is cool, but is not the best thing if you have large thumbs like i do. the other thing is that i have just sent my phone back to samsung because the touch screen stoped working!!! go figger!! i work for one of thelargest mobile phone networks in theuk as a sales rep and its my job to know good phones this one has crashed on my list and i will avoid selling it in the furture!

i have this phone and think its amazing! the t.s keys are so easy to use. The camera is great and the only problem i had was that it didn't have enough memory (i have tons of songs and pictures) so i just bought a memory card for it. Its lightweight, slides easily, and the layout is so simple. for anyone who would like and amazing phone, i advise this one!

This phone looks great/cool but I should NOT have paid for this phone. There are better quality phones in the market. 1. No ring and Vibrate at the same time. 2. Touch pad is so sensitive that it cancel your job every now and then. 3. Samsung customer service is bad too, I wrote to them and receive NO reply. 4. Battery life is bad. When it indicare 2/3 of the bars-it mean it has less than 5 hours of standby. 5. Easily scratch 6. If you have an incoming call while you typing your message, it will cancel the message. DO not buy.....invest your money wisely

Although I was initially attracted to the look and feel of the Samsung E900, the love affair quickly ended. The touch/heat sensitive controls make even simple tasks such as texting or even just picking up the phone a very dodgy undertaking, keeping in mind the phone is near skin such as hands and faces every time it is used. Supposedly the phone is locked when the slider is closed but, I have found the heat sensitive controls remain active. Trying to ask for a snooze from the alarm without shutting it off is an excruciatingly difficult task for a sleepy mind. I have also found that carrying the phone in hand may inadvertently diconnect calls, shunt texts, and turn off alarms before you hear them. This phone definitely has a beautiful but wild mind of its own which refuses to be tamed. Careful what you wish for: I would never own one again.

I have 2 say i use nothing else other than Samsung and i hate this fone awful my boyfriend and neice have 1 if i use im guaranteed 2 loose my temper 2 sensitive!!! not usual Samsung quality ave had D600 and D900 getting upgrade next week certainly wont be 2 this fone. If u just want luks go 4 this fone technology def not!!

I hate it, I've had it for 2 months now and the camera is rubbish, the touch tone is extremely annoying, am going to have to buy myself a new phone as I can't stand another 15 months with this one! DO NOT BUY IT!

HI THERE I HAVE THE E9OO AND ITS A BRILLIANT PHONE.IT BASICALLY THE SAME HAS THE D6OO BUT WITH A WICKED TOUCH OF FUTUR IT AS A 2 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA THE CAMERA IS PUCA AND I WOULDENT CHANGE IT FOR A DIFFERENT PHONE .

very poor. can't do anything without the stupid touch screen buttons canceling everything. just really annoying. somebody sends you a mms or bluetooth it comes up with a question mark, poor sound quality, cant even hear it when i get a text message even when on loudest volume. the most annoying phone i have ever used, and i cant take it back until 3months time! going o stick to phones that havent got touch screen. i was very disappointed because i owned the samsung d500 and loved it. The only good qualities with this phone is that it was pink and has a 1gb memory card but other than that its rubbish, wouldnt be so bad to use if i was left handed then i wouldnt keep touching the cancel button all the time.

I got this phone a week ago and it is an ok phone but like every other phone i have had it has down points ie. the touch screen is a little bit anoying , you cannot wake up to your own music that you have put on there by you self (alarm there is only the phone tunes) same with the messages. It also has good points, it has 80 mb which can fit around 20 songs its the mb is at a decent size .The camera is ok once you take the picture is just makes it a bit lighter at the end.If you thinking of getting it think twice becuase it might look better than you think it is

was soo xcited to get this phone (after the D500) had to return it after 10 days - the touch buttons way too sensitive - was calling up people by mistake all the time + i aint got chubby fingers or owt! after returning it for D900 (which i luuuvvve!!) was informed by my phone company that this was the phone that they had the most problems with + had high levels of returns!

I have the nokia 6280 and its the worst phone i have ever had when you listen to music or even get a message it cuts out and most of the time its thinks there is no sim card inside it. my opinion dont get it

I have had the phone for a few months now and only have a few little problems. I love the touch screen it can be annoying when you accidently press the cancel button taking you back to the main menu but apart from that the touch senstive is fab! It is very popular in our town and although the internal memory isent the highest i have recently bort a memory card and it has been doing just fine for me. The games arent the best but not everyone uses them anyway. Texting is fine and the same with calls. Sometimes it gets annoying because the mp3 player it holds does not support WMA songs but i have worked around that. Over all the phone is ideal foe my everyday life!

This phone is amazing! People who complain that the touch keys are too sensitive must have the biggest thumbs, they r not over sensitive at all! This phone is rammed with top quality features and the camera is top bombin too, and it looks absolutely fantastic!

great phone! have to get used to the touch-button but after a couple of days or so you get used to not touching the rong button! lol, great camera and screen, but the only downside that i dont like about the phone is that i brought a 2gb memory card and when you play music, you have to go back to the music menu and select another song, but if the song is on the phones memory you can change tracks by pressing the next touch button which i find pritty good! but thats about it!

a brilliant phone where style meets function. i have used many small mobiles, pda's and allin btwn. phone is bliss. took 2 days to get used to thermal sensitive buttons. pros: user friendly, grt software, good cam, grt style. cons:no "profile" in menu, batt life a bit short

I got this phone for christmas and i think its absolutly fab!!! you either love or hate the touch sensitive buttons and luckily for me i love them. The only problem i have with this phone is the incredibly short battery life im not sure if this is a fault with my phone or all samsung e900s but im taking to the shop tomoz to swap the batterys over. Im defo keeping my phone tho!!!!!

Why in the world would a hi tech phone like this not be able to ring and vibrate at the same time. A very poor mistake to make on such a lush phone.The message sounds that come with it are useless and it has a habit of wondering to another page when your sure youv touched the buttons right. The numbers when dialed are MASSIVE so you dont need ya glasses for that one. It has all the bells n whistles and the screen is luuurvley though. A firm fave with the girls i reckon.

I bought this phone as my first Samsung two weeks ago and thought I'd give the touch screen a chance to grow on me. It hasn't. It's driving me mad, I suppose I'm not one of those people who can get used to it. I also find the multiple steps to senidng a text message an irritating problem - is this the case with all saumsungs? . I also found that scratches are already appearing on the screen.It is a beautiful phone but too impractical and I will be swapping it for the D900 as soon as possible - if anyone can tell me if the prolonged text messaging occurs with all Samsungs?

I took delivery of my new E900 about 3 months ago. Have managed to talk a mate into buying it and replaced it with a KRZR. Those soft touch buttons on the front were driving me mad......

Overall it is a good phone, the battery retains charge well, and it's hard-waring. The main problem that I have with it is the camera. The pictures always come out blurred, which is a shame as on the occassional non-blurry picture, the quality is great. The touch buttons are a bit over-sensitive and I often end up back into the main menu, or calling the person that I am texting. The features are generally good, but I can't get on with this phone because of the rubbish camera!

I have just recieved the Samsung D900 and i am not as happy as i wanted to be. When you send a text message, it doesn't automatically go in your sent folder and you can only have one sound for the alarm - i thin k this is rubbish and had i of known i would not of got this phone! It also does not save the messages in the outbox if you are in the middle of writting it and a call come in or your lose single you have to start all over again! And i thought that this ohone was the one where when you recieve a text message some of the word turn into icons, but i belive for some reason this is not true?

I have had this phone now for a few months and it has been a great disappointment. The buttons are too sensitive, you write a text message and if you press the C button accidently it all wiped. I can't understand why Samsung don't design their phones where they vibrate and ring at the same time. SInce I have had this phone I have missed so many calls. I think in future I will stick with Sony Ericssons, which I think are the best phones around. They are reliable and full of all kinds of special features. Sorry Samsung but its a thumbs down from me.

From the day I brought this phone, I've had problems with it. Firstly I have had to get a replacament for it and now my new one has broken. Also the touch screen drives me mad- you can't write a text without hitting the back button by mistake. Camera is ok but can be very slow. I don't even think the phone looks that great. To be honest, I don't think this phone deserves the outstanding review it has.

This is possibly THE most irritating mobile phone ever to be made. For all those who have rated this a 5 star they are obviously rating it purely on its looks and not on its practicality. It does look great, but try writing a text message and you are either abruptly returned to the main page by accidentally breathing on the over-sensitive buttons, or you end up calling the person you are trying to text. The number of times people have rang me and asked what I wanted, and I have to explain oh its just my RUBBISH phone!!! Perhaps that is why people rate it so highly - because it is the first mobile phone with its own brain!! It even pre-enters one of my numbers every time I write a text message! So when choosing a phone please dont go for this one, it may look pretty but it is junk!

This phone is awful, just awful! I don't agree with the other reviewers who say that the build quality is poor, mine feels sturdy and looks quite stylish. The major drawback of this phone is that the touch sensitive front renders the device totally useless, it is a total nightmare to use and makes even the most simple task a challenge and increbibly frustrating. It really is that bad, but from all the good reviews it would seem that not everybody struggles with it! It makes me question if all these reviews are genuine because I have not met anybody who doesn't have trouble with the sensitivity of the front panel!!

I have had this phone for a few weeks, i got the pink one, which is more of a red but oh well, its the best phone! camera is gr8, video capture is the best i have ever seen (have to ulter the video camera settings though) can view it in full screen (by pressing 1). The sound that comes out is amazing! small, light, cute, touch screen buttons, the style is great! the test tones are not the best but there good, bluetooth is quicker than the phones down from this one. I like that u can have a memory card for MORE memory, even though the phone already has 80mb alreadi! .All in all i love it and would reccomend it to anybody, so if your thinking of getting one go for it. If u don't get on with it then just take it back, but i don't see why not!!! go n get it

OK this phone has it all. However there are 2 things bothering me about it... 1 of which is the touch-sensitive buttons doing things other than what they should be doing like you would be lookin in the phonebook and next thing you know its tryin to phone someone and you're like what?! Or you write a long text and the Cancel button gets pressed without even bein touched and the whole of what you just wrote goes down the pan. And the other, well this is kind of a strange one because the bluetooth dongle on my pc has never done this with any other phone... Basically, if i take a pic with the cam and send it to my pc via bluetooth, it does get received but when i try and open it the pic is showing only the very top, the rest of it is black and grey but on the phone it can be viewed as normal. Those are they only 2 things i can fault it with. Otherwise its a good phone!

I work for a telesales comany on behalf of orange and i sell mobile phones for a living and have always liked samsung, ive had the d500, d600, and now the e900, this phone is so stylish, easy to use the battery life and memory are out of the world , the mp3 player is great quality and when you send and recieve data from other mobiles or pc's it transfers over very quickly and i have to say that this is 1 of the best fones out on the market. U WILL MISS OUT IF YOU DONT GET YOURSELVES AN E900

Btw for all the people who are wonderng about putting it on silent.. you hold down the # button. 2ndly.. this is probably one of the most amazing phones ever made by samsung.. i hav had this 3 weeks ago and still i don't get bored of it. the camera is amazing.. the videos are good.. reasonable amount of songs but if you by a memory card you can fit MORE! i love it.. and i dont have a problem with the touch buttons.. its well easy! (sorry for the people who thinks its hard) but to be honest.. u have FAT fingers .. loose weight. overall.. AMAZING PHONE! get it.. or else your missing out

Hi I had fallen in love with my new E900 until I have tried to listen to music on it. The quality of the MP3 sounds like I have recorded the tracks from a worn out cassette. I have to say I am really disappointed as this was one of the features I was looking for in the range of phones I was able to consider.

i have this phone for about a month now and im beginning to hate it even more! it has really good quality camera. however, the touch screen buttons are a nightmare. they are so hard to use and it takes you simply forever. i would like to recommend this phone as everything else is good, but i cant - in my opinion it is a nusience!!!

The Touch Sensitive screen is the most frutrating thing I've ever encountered, followed by the inept way texting works. If Samsung made sufficient improvement to both issues it would be a fabulous phone. Till then I am replacing mine with a Nokia

Being a designer i always have been taught that form follows funtion. Although the e900 is a pretty phone I dont think this is the be all and end all of cutting edge design. Im seriously considering taking it back to the shop! I am constantly infuriated by the lack of options in the phone and pointless extras. Why would you make a phone that doesnt vibrate and ring at the same time? You cant set your own message alert and instead have a choice of some seriously dodgy ones. The ringtone is not very clear and audible and I really dont know how many calls ive missed already because of the vibrate issue which probably would have solved this! You have to set the predictive text on every new txt you make...thats annoying. To actually send a message you have to check and selact about five things which a real pollava! the flimsy ports for charger etc look like theyl snap with even the carefullest owner. adding a word to your personal text dictionary is a very long winded click happy affair. This phone is not a cutting edge piece of technology, it's a pain in the bottom! I choose it because i thought it had the basics...but samsiung cant even get those right!

well... a few weeks ago I was reading this site and got very worried coz the bad reviews were REALLY bad but the good reviews were FANTASTIC. I was worried about the touchscreen in particular. But I got the phone and I promise you, its not a problem. U do have to be careful but its not nearly as bad as I expected to do. The cameras not great on this phone, the d600 is better even though they're both 2 megapixels. The only bad thing I would say is the battery. It only lasts 2 days and doesnt give u much warning. Buy the phone! Its fantastic!

bought this fone went back the same day.The sound is terrable scratches to easyily and the touch sensertive buttons are very bad.Much prefer the lg chocolate and the e900 copied the sensertive buttons and made them bad

After 5 days my E900 was returned to shop! Either that or it was going out the window! First time ive ever had to take a phone back. Very smart looking phone 10/10 for looks and weight but the touchscreen is a nightmare,far too sensitive.You sit for ages pressing the screen at times until it selects Menu. Battery is rubbish and camera doesnt work well unless your outside.

Great fone it does easily scratch but thats my fault for dropping it a number of times camera is very good hate the fact that u have 2 wait a second before moving it because then it goes blurry i think that my d500 was louder than this but still loud enough for me sensitive screen good and u can knock off on any touch screen fone so its not just this 1 that knocks off its much better than the LG Chocolte as there as always comparisens between them but the e900 is far better, better camera better speaker better everything basically even a nicer look

The good points are...1) Very smooth opening 2) Stylish touch sensitive keys (easier to use than those on the LG Chocolate's) 3) 80MB of memory (enough for 30 songs) 4) Expandable memory card slot for up to 2/4GB 5) Fast bluetooth connection 6) Six games (on O2) if your into that kind of stuff 7) MP3 ringtones 8) View crisp pictures on its outstanding 256k screen 9) Video recorder 10) Comes in different colours (Black/Pink/Gold) 11) Very loud music player 12) TV out capability The bad points are...1) Unreliable alarm 2) Easy to leave fingerprints on screen 3) Not fantastic battery life though it is durable

Quality phone! I agree with most of the comments below. The only annoying things about this phone are the heat sensitive buttons are easily touched when texting, for example, causing you to lose the message you are in the middle of! The other thing is that the case seems really easy tp scratch. My phone is only a few days old and has a few really small scratches on the back where it has been sat on my desk!!!

I have had this phone for a few days now, after being a 'Nokia' fan for many many years, and i can honestly say i think its quite 'sexy' the touch sensative pad needs abit of getting used to, but it isn't as bad as some people say! The only problem i have found so far is that it can't seem to hold many txt messages and when people send you them half the txt is missing if its a long txt! Apart from that i think its a Brill phone.

Just got my phoe yesterday. I love it, absolutley amazing, all my buddies have gone for the D900 but believe me, the E900 is better by far. Yes the D900 may be thin and light, but its also thin and light on performance and ability. However the E900 is superb and brimming with tonnes of extras. Camera is great, memory is great, size is great, in fact the whole phone is great. Choose it over the D900 anyday.

who sed the lg chocolate was better this phone looks better and the camera is better than the lg chocolate as it has more mega pixels and compared to the lg it looks a lot better as well the lg may still look gd but its no where near as gd as this phone,

i bought this phone with my x-mas money and i have never had such a gr8 phone!!!!!!!! i think that this phone is better than the lg chocolate because my sister got that and it isnt as good all round like the e900. i think if you are going to get a new phone this should be it!!!!!!!
