Samsung E900 Review

Rating:
Date: 30/11/2006
The Samsung E900 is a small and stylish top of the range camera phone. The phone has a sleek surface with a touch-sensitive control pad and has a two-tone finish in black and slate giving it a glass-like touch-screen keypad. It is a slim and compact sliding phone weighing just 93g with a dimension of 93 x 45 x 16.5 mm.
The phone has a very good camera with 2 megapixels, 4 x digital zoom, and with the flash you are able to take pictures in poor lighting. The camera also has video recording capabilities supporting MPEG4, H.263 and AAC formats.
The display is an excellent TFT screen meaning that it is visible even in bright sunlight. It has 262k colours and the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels which is one of the highest quality screens at the moment.
The E900 comes with a great stereo MP3 player supporting the formats ACC, ACC+, e-ACC+ and WMA. It has a 64-voice polyphonic sound which means that it is capable of playing 64 notes simultaneously. As well as polyphonic tones, it is also able to use MP3's as ringtones. With 80MB of internal memory and the space for an external MicroSD memory card, there is plenty of space to store music and other files on your phone.
This phone has great connectivity via Bluetooth, USB and TV-Output. The TV output connection allows you to view images and videos directly on a TV with the use of the document viewer as this enables you to transmit your files to a projector or present them on a TV or computer. Bluetooth enables you to wirelessly connect to another Bluetooth device up to 10 metres apart whilst connecting to a PC is done with a USB cable.
Connecting to the internet is done via EDGE data transfer rates. This is a very fast connection, providing up to three times faster rates then GPRS. 3G however is the fastest available at the moment.
The phone works on a tri-band operating frequency so it will work in Europe and America but not Japan. It has an average battery life of up to 220 hours of standby time.
Overall this is a very good phone with an MP3 player and camera that both rate above average for phones within this price range. The design of the phone looks very stylish although there have been some complaints about the sensitive keypad.

I have just got this phone and it is brill, really like the style etc. On comment on a previous review is that the phone doesn't give a ring with the vibration function however, there is under settings. Anyway this phone is just great, this is my first slide phone and am really happy with it.

I've had the D500 for the last year and it was faultless, wish I could say the same for its cousin. I've had two E900 and I've now put the 2nd back for another phone - waiting for the D900 to come out. The phone had problems with reception. In a 5 bar area it kept going in and out of reception - the two phones were the same. The touch screen is a nightmare, touch screen sounds good but the reality is very different. Gr8 looking phone with an excellent camera but that where it stops!

Ive Had the phone for 4 days now and i can tell you thats its brilliant, i got this phone upgraded from the d-500 which was a great phone but this is even better the touch buttons have the perfect sensitivity and the sound quality is great. As for the looks the sleek smart look is brilliant, battery life is brilliant. Overall this phone is the phone of 2006 and i recommend you buy it!!!

LOL, Noone wanna write a review for recommendedbuys. Since i have nothing better to do, i'll start you off. Got the phone 1 week ago. very nice phone. Slick, sexy and indeed as everyone says, a must have item. But baring in mine with the faults mentioned by other consumers such as touch screen can be a pest and the predictive texting is not set as default. The phone doesn't give you a ring while vibrating function which i believe is what everyone wants. That comment applies for the text notification as well. A small matter about charging the phone, when you charge it, the phone is always stay alight which i think is pointless and a waste of electricity. But all in all, its a good phone for an upgrade or a new buy.
