The only problem it doesnt slide well and is relly stiff. I have had this phone for two years, and in a week am getting a new one, as for the last half year, it has been going haywire. Before this, I thought this phone was bad anyway. The phone was generally slow at everything it did, and only had infrared, meaning that not much could be achieved in the way of sending. There was no USB either, so I couldn't put anything on the phone, or take anything off. Also, due to lack of memory, i had to delete almost all my pictures and messages, because they could not fit onto the phones memory, and it could not take a memory card. Also, any pictures I took were very poor quality, due to the awful camera. Something that struck me as odd was the fact that when recording a voice clip, the sound quality was awful, but sounds in a video where very good! Another fault was the E-mail and MMS. They didnt work. At all. Anyway, for the last half year the phone has been going wrong badly. The first thing that happened was that the battery stopped working properly. It would charge for a couple of days then only work for an hour. I did get a new battery, but the same happened. Soon after, a problem arose with the energy-saving screen. Being a sliding phone, there was supposed to be a screen when slid down with no backlight, and the time on it. But, occasionally, it would swap so that when I slid the phone down, it went on to the normal, bright menu screen, then when I slid it up it turned to the dark screen, and froze. Annoying, right? And most lately, something very strange happened. I'd just sent a message to a friend, and there was the normal screen saying 'message sent'. But, suddenly the backlight went off, and the phone froze completely for a few minutes! Then, it showed the screen that it normally does when it turnes on, and went to the menu screen! Also, although minor, I will mention that after being a reliable, non-changing clock for 2 years, it suddenly went way out. So that's why I hate this phone. Its not well built. lasts about 1 year only. Since its a sliding phone, its connector band (wires) wears out in 1 year. Rendering the phone completely un-useable (and you loose all your pictures, info) in the process. I fixed it once, worked out to be quite expensive to do so. Exactly a year after fixing it, it goes out again. This put me off Samsung completely now. My other phones are now a Sony EricssonK750i and a Nokia 5310 and they are (well upto now) well worth it and dependable. I will not (ever)buy another samsung. It's so tiny it fits in any bag and it has everything you need. I wouldn't have got rid of it, but unfortunately it became so chipped because I didn't treat it very well, and one of the buttons stopped working, but it wouldn't put me off buying another one! Rating: Reviewed by Tilly on 05/12/2007 Well was 11 when i got this phone, it is an quite a good phone for its price, i got mmine at £69.99 i think :S. the good things about this phone is that it has a very loud volume and the MP3 player is well good aswell. one of the bad things with samsung phones are the screens, they are very bad! i dropped my phone once and the screen went all black and i cant read anything! so if you get this phone i advise you to be careful other than that the phone is quite good. Rating: Reviewed by Ingrid on 11/09/2007 Nice phone, easy to use, my only complaint is that if you have the phone in your pocket or a phone holder it is very easy to cut people off when they ring in while you are getting the phone out to answer. It is also very easy to set the camera off while in your pocket - but apart from over sensitive buttons good little reliable phone. Seems to last for days on one charge which comes in handy if you have a habit of putting your phone down and lose it for a while. Its easy to use and has some great features. Im looking for a new one now though as I want bluetooth and never really got the hang of the infra-red and therefore couldnt load the MP3s. There didnt seem to be much help in the manual with that. The only problem is - I cant find one good enough to replace this one! If you dont want bluetooth then i really recommend this phone. The sliding became more difficult and some of the buttons cut out.. after the end of the week None of the buttons worked and the light cut out when you slid it up. So I had to get a new phone. Ive had nokia motorola and sonyericson before they were all good but this is just cheap rubbish it will break after a few months if you can last that long it takes a decade to rite a txt eventually you just give up it takes too long and is stupid, and the phone is so poor you can hardly hear the other person and they cant hear you... somebody said piece of string and two cans is better I agree.... I think anyone who gives this 5 stars is working for samsung. I put mine in the bin and went back to my old sony. Its only the fact it was free that I still got it, otherwise it would be in the fire. Sound quality is abysmal but the worst thing is the texting system which is just complete rubbish. You can type individual words out, which takes an utter age having to cycle through numbers, figures and letters. Or you can use the "predictive texting" which dont allow you to select alternative words, so you type "me" it comes up with "of" and you have to go into individual type mode to type "me" what a joke. If your used to the seamless Nokia or Sony predictive texting then you will be infuriated with this garbage phone and its poor, poor firmware. Be warned that one year seems to be its maximun shelf-life. After a while the 'band' (connecting the bottom slide to the top) - breaks. Rendering the phone USELESS. I am now upgrading but I had the phone for over a year and had no problems with it at all. The phone is so small it fits nicely into a pocket or bag. I am a clumsy person and have dropped the phone many a time, but it has never let me down and always bounces back. The phone is packed full of features, the only downside being that it doesn't have Bluetooth, but the phone's cute querks make up for that.I would recommend this phone to anyone! Samsung well done for making this phone! Not much memory so you can't store many tracks (only 4-5 I found), but the camera quality is pretty good for what it is. The slide function is a bit stiff, but easy to get used to. A pretty good all-rounder for the price. Never had any problems with it and have been using it for over a year now. It is nice and compact and if you just want a phone to ring people & text this is great, The MP3 player is really handy and the camera is OK as well, I've taken loads of pictures on it. My hubby has also got the phone but in Black and his has been knocked around alot in work but is still working perfectly. The phone hasn't even got a scratch which is great as usually phones manage to get some kind of scrape by this point. I know my previous ones have but this one still looks brand new. It holds quite a few MP3s on it. It's not a music phone for listening to loads of music but it's good that it can hold and play quite a few. The pictures are fine for a typical VGA camera, there's a flash which some of my friends phones don't have. Never had any problems with signals or sending or recieving texts. Videos like many phones aren't the best quality but it's not for recording films anyway - they're not too bad. Overall I'd recommend it for anyone who wants a phone that can take your average photos and videos, view both, hold some MP3s and do all your usual MMS, SMS, phone calling etc. Rating: Reviewed by Will on 10/12/2006 Its a really good phone and a rli good size and the camera and video are great and also the mp3 but its a shame that is hasint got bluetooth but the infared is just as good. Buttons on the side for volume and camera got in the way when making calls. As for trying to use the mp3 player waste of time. Also the battery life isnt very big and in alot of places i find i have very low signal but thismite just be my network. Altogether i find this a great little fone the only big bad thing is that there is no bluetooth although it does ave infrared it stil aint as good. Antoher great thing is that you can put privacy onto your messages and images so if theres anythin privte u can put a password on and no1 but u can get in. its fabtastic. If your looking for a new fone 1 that snt guna confuse da heck outs u with imode and everythin this is a great fone just as long as u have tiny fingers so u can press the buttons cos they are very samll. oh and i think it looks so much nicer in the black than the pink. ewww. It is very cute and small, which made me buy it. I had always liked the samsung D500/600, but it was quite big and very expensive. So when I saw this fone, I was so happy. The best fone out!! I then sent it away 2 be fixed and it returned fully working and now some of the buttons stoped workin and now it wont even turn on. a major disapointment as i had herd good things about the phone. do not buy a complete waste of money. It is def a girls phone tho,I have notice all the bad comments are by men,saying they broke within days DONT BE ROUGH WITH IT! It has so many good features to it, although one thing,how do u upload mp3's wothout the cable?i have used the infrared to send them, got my boyfriend to add songs i want to his phone then send them through infrared...simple!and no cable needed! i would def recommoned this phone TO LADIES/giRLS ONLY! The only negative thing about this phone is no bluetooth but hey you can use infared to transfer songs and the USB cable which you have to buy! I love this stylish phone and would recoment it to anybody that doesn't really use their phone that much as the battery life is a bit poor if your listening to music or video recording. I love the mp3 player as many phones don't really have an mp3 player and the price is outstanding at only £100 this phone is a bargin! The camera quailty is brilliant and very clear pictures can be taken and the sound goes up very loud and also very clear. The overall design is georgeous as it is small sleek and stylish. I have had a lot of phones but the samsung e350 is by far the best. The phone is so cute and manages to impress alot of my friends, yup they're all jealous! The camera is clear, and the phone isn't too hard to figure out. The only downside is the lack of bluetooth for the mp3 player but thats easily sorted out by buying a usb cable. And plus i had bluetooth on my other phone and i hardly ever bothered to use it so i'm not too mithered. The 'melody's' on the phone at first, could possibly drive you to suicide ---> think the music off 'the sims' but aslong as you dont play them too often they shouldnt annoy you, especially if you get your whole mp3 player business up and running. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this phone, i mean..i scratched the screen the first day i had it and was sooo gutted, but the screen has healed :D and you cant tell now :D very impressed. BUY THIS PHONE!!! It's reallllyy worth the money! The only phone I have ever owned that ooused quality. A smooth refined slide action, bright high quality screen, low weight and a natural 'feel' in the hand enhances the E350 experience. Intuitive menues give a confidence that this is a truly well produced product. Website backup is excellent. A host of features lie within this petite masterpiece of mobile technology and the attention to detail is outstanding. Junk your old mobile and buy this phone now. I'm so glad I did! Pros: + Excellent camera quality, very good video capability. + High Quality mp3 Player (practically a quiet stereo) + Very diverse, comprehensive schedule and phone book + Fun, addicting games + Very cheap (Can now be bought for £100 or less) + Amazing looks + Easy to navigate shortcuts and menus + Generous memory size + Large numbers of phone book entries (1000 plus sim), sms/mms's (200 plus sim), schedules (400 seperate entries + High quality sound recording (if you do not want to pay to download ringtones, try recording it off a stereo with the voice recorder, you get up to 7 hours and it's good quality if you keep the surrounding area quiet) + Easy to customise + Good speaker+microphone quality - voice clarity means you can have conversations in loud environments and still be heard And many other things which are too trivial to mention, but just help out, the world time and currency converter for example. Cons: + I'm a little unsure how long this slide is going to be working for - I wouldn't recommend this phone for younger people, maybe under 16's, due to the need to open and close it repeatedly for no good reason + The battery life, same situation as above. If you intend to leave it on standby a lot it's great - lasts for days. Alternately if you intend to use the photo/video/gaming/mp3 functions a lot and do not want to be charging it every 2-3 days you should try another phone. + The memory has limits, once again if you intend to use heavily memory-dependant functions you will run out of space quickly. 10-15 mp3's/video clips, or about 200 images for each mp3/video is about all you're going to get on the phone - think about a d600 if you need more memory. + Lack of bluetooth, not a huge issue because of the ability to use a data cable or the Infra-Red capability, but the Infra Red can be slow. Transferring a 3.1mb mp3 file from a Sony Ericsson w550 (the spinny walkman one) to the e350 can take 20minutes to half an hour. If you intend to do a lot of large file transfers, think about something with bluetooth. In conclusion, the e350 is a very good budget phone with some trivial limitations. If you have the extra £150 I would suggest getting the d600 for the larger memory and bluetooth, but if you are not looking for a totally top-end phone, the e350 is a great phone, well worth checking out. Note: if anyone has had any other issues about the battery life on the e350 please let me know here or via email, audigex@gmail.com .
