The Philips 355 comes with a good 65,000 colour display and an integrated camera. Pictures stored in the 355's memory can be used for identifying who is making an incoming call: FotoCall enables images to be attached to numbers in the 355's phonebook, so that when the phone rings the corresponding photo appears on the display. The 355 also makes text messaging easy. The large display can show up to eight lines of SMS text, while Philips has developed a brand new messaging interface for this phone, simplifying the number of steps required to write and send an SMS message.The 355 phone also includes Philips' unique BeDJ application, which lets users create, store and share up to nine distinctive music mixes from either downloaded WAP sources or MMS (operator service dependent), or tracks and sound embedded in the phone. As a real-time composer, BeDJ brings out the creativity in people, with its Music Mix Panel enabling users to mix up to nine tracks, choose an instrument for each music track and change the tempo and volume of the sound providing an easy way of mixing your own ring tones.

Really a bad phone. wat u expect from philips. very unreliable. camera only works in a certain light and outside.

Ive had this phone for almost 2 years now and what a poor phone it is. Its really slow and sluggish, really small memory, the joystick is hard to use and the textting issue is a nightmare. Even though u cant buy this phone anymore (THANK GOD!!!!) dont get it off eBay or amazon etc as theyre basically scamming you. Im saving up money for the W810i wow what a sweet phone!

I really dont like this phone the camera is good but the scrolling is just rubbish and the texing god you dont want me to tell you all the problems i had with texing on this phone. Iv had this phone 2 weeks now and im fed up of it so im jus selling it to some stupid guy 4 £30 lol i dont care im making £15 prophit what els do i need.Trust me if you are reading my review DONT BYE THIS PHONE becuase you will just regret it like i am at the moment. So if i were you i would listen to every one whos saying that this phone is rubbish becuase beleave me it is.

this phone i got for christmas a year back off my mum + dad i thought it wer great at first until i found out dat da vioce recorderis rubbish and dat it only plays back really quietin da catalouge it sed good vioce recorder wen it ses dat u expect more dont ya, i payed £110 waste od money wen u c all dees phones lately motarolla v3 £60 its gorgues but cant buy it cuz i wasted all me money on dat philip rubbish it belongs down da tiolet!

omg! i bought this fone 7months ago and it has totally meffed up!!! the
little joystick thing is totally broke and i cant get it to work and virgin wont fix it cos im like a few days out of warranty, typical! dont buy this fone! it was good at first but now its broke! (sobbing)

My dad gave me this phone as a present for my birthday... At first I was veyr happy and contented about it. all of the features are cool to me.. but then I noticed as time goes by it freezes, also I need to save to phone number one with no area code and the other with area code so that the name will appear... it really hard to do it.. Then when texting damn its very hard there are a lot of things you need to do and it is very slow. also, the pictures you cant send themn to email adds.. hate it! but one thing I love about this phone is the camera.. only the cam nothing more nothing less.

i like the phone alot but there are a few little niggles i have had with it. 1) why cant i find any downloadable ringtones for it 2) the mms service just stopped working so i cnt send pic messages or tones 2 people. great phone though but i am upgrading to sony ericsson k700i in september. ryan age 13

This fone is realy rubbish coz of the joystick.The memory is rubbish as well.The only good thing about it is the ringtones they sound great,good 4 texting with.Im soon geting a new fone coz iv had a noughth with it.

I just bought this phone - seems nice, BUT, does anybody out there know if I can add to / personalise the dictionary on the predictive text. I have searched the Philips website and get no joy from their "support" pages. I will be checking back here in a few days...thanx!

I've had this phone for about 5 or 6 months now. It has been a good little friend to me. Admittedly, sometimes if I overload its little brain by simply trying to use the voice dial function, it has a spazzo and freezes up, but I don't use voice dial, so it's all good. The picture quality is good, better if you put it on night mode. The joystick is a little sluggish and I find it irritating that you can't delete the stupid preloaded pictures of like, coffee cups and that, but it's a good phone, very resistant to my dropping it every five minutes. Oh, one thing that annoys me is the pathetic excuse for a vibrate it has. On the alarm it is ridiculously strong, vibrating off my bedside table at times, but on messages and calls it is less noticeable than a bee buzzing on the other side of a window.

Absolute rubbish. Bought the phone 9 months ago and am now on my FIFTH (YES FIFTH!) warranty replacement from Virgin. Software is hideously unreliable every phone I've had crashes regularly, the POP mail don't work despite correct settings, and the joystick packs up after continuous use (e.g if you use WAP everyday to check your emial when the pop doesn't work). My fifth handset also packed up again gone extremely slow, crashing all the time and joystick in a coma, almost dead! Still in warranty but giving up on this phone and getting summin better. 110% customer service from Virgin though, no quibbles and replacement next morning when (not if) if gives up. They now selling for #79.99 including #70.00 credit on the web - ENOUGH SAID!!!!!

ive had this phone....a week. its an ace phone, with everything you could possibly need....except.....DONT BUY IT. it seems to have a bit of a problemo.....when the keypad is locked it comes unlocked when the little toggle up and down thing in the middle gets moved, therefore i lost loads of money when my phone started calling random people when it was in my pocket....ace. seriously this phone is ace....camera quality is great for the money, great memory and great everything, but its not worth it. also, the battery only lasts a few days (but maybe thats cos i was obsessed with taking photos!! :p) and the games are nothing to shout about!

good value for money phone. It has internal 2 megabyte memory. This limits the number of photos and sounds you can store. Without the backlight on, the screen is so dark as be unusable. This is probably common with most colour screens. It is a straight forward easy to use phone. The settings are reasonable to use. Manual reading will be essential, though. The manual is well laid out and the quickstart quide is excellent. There are some real rubbish ring tones and wallpapers which cannot be deleted, taking valuable memory. This, to me, has been the only real disappointment with the phone. Voice dial (you say the name of the person you want to call) is very reliable, but limited to fifteen names. The camera works, but together with the display will never replace a real camera. For #50 from Virgin, it is certainly worth serious consideration.

GREAT PHONE-dont know what you are on about when people say it isnt a great phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has great stuff on and the pixels are great on it.I have shopped around and even had quite a few erricson phones but they were all rubbish as they were always freezing after they were about 3 months old!!!!!!!!!!!Ive had this phone for 5 months now n its gotta take a lot of beating 2 beat dis,da best eva so far!!!!!!!!!!!!

This phone is really great, at such a low price! Currently #45 at Virgin!!! Very good camera, B-Dj confusing but good, only 1 game but u can download. Bad points - phone keeps freezing (I swapped mine, the next handset did the same so i got a refund). Camera zoom isnt great, and when its really bright colours rnt good, and ight mode doesn't seem to work =/ buttons are quite stiff, textings a nightmare, which is the main reason why i got a refund. I'm used to nokia and like 2 know when im going on2 a second msg so i no whether thers ne point shortening it 2 1 (Im only 15 I don't have loads of money for credit!), this phone just says 'you are going to send 2 msgs!' once you clik send, but u can go bak 2 edit the msg, jus takes ages. Joystick is a bit fiddely, often pushing it to side accidentally and sometimes u hav 2 push it a few times b4 it does what u want! Good camera modes like sepia etc (black n white pics etc). In all, very good phone, excellent price, only the texting and the freezing fault lets it down.

Very poor user experience. The buttons are hard to press, the joystick tempremental, the operating system barely usable and wap settings basic. Yes it has a reasonable camera, but anyone using wap or texting regularly should forget it.

Had 355 for a month now, great phone. Bought from Comet for #69.95. Graphics good, spec good, camera great. Bedj facility great, still making my own tunes. Central joystick a bit fiddly for my big fingers. overall great fone, hi spec, low price. Pleased I bought it. Its different to most phones out there a the minute...

i am thinking about buying a philips 355 and i have heard that the photo resolution might not be very good. i am certain that this manufacturer is good but can i be sure that this fone will be as brilliant as it seems. obviously everyone would like a colour camera fone as cheap as this one i want to know whether it would be worth paying 60 quid for 1. if anyone does know how good it is please leave me a review to matthew walsh thanks!

Well this is an alright sort of phone, but the buttons are a bit stiff, and where can I get a data cable??? Hey, the camera is pretty good, but can't download to my PC :(
