Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Kyle Kaye on 04/11/2011 AVOID! Worst phone iv ever used. I have always been a fan of nokia in the past however owning the X6 has put me off ever owning one again. I got my second phone after only 3 months due to endless problems with crashing, slow running and randomly restartin even after updates. Worked ok for afew months then same again, Battery life is shocking you struggle to get a day even in standby. Built in web browser never connects. No apps seem to work correctly and Wi-FI just drops connections even when sat next to the router. Simply cannot be used if any form of light drizzle and the unlock key on mine broke so i had to pull the side of the phone off to be able to unlock it. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Carole on 31/10/2011 I would never recommend this phone to anyone! I have only had it for 12 months and the power button has snapped off and now the screen lock key has snapped off! How the hell am I supposed to use this phone without those 2 buttons! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A NOKIA PHONE! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by John13 on 29/10/2011 I preferred my previous phone a Sony Ericsson K800i it did almost everything better than this phone. My first problem is that it is quite a complicated phone to set up shortcuts on, and the instructions were written by a martian, it is also so flimsy that it needs a case to protect it, which detracts from it's graceful image. The camera is ok, not as good as the K800i, but the video is very good quality, the only problems I've had with it has been the camera i.e. the flash not working, or the video light not working, I've figured out how to fix it, just tap the back where the flash cells are and it usually works (it took me 6 months to figure that out). I don't like the alarm setup on it, if you want to wake up at a certain time for an appointment or whatever, you better have the phone turned on or it will just by pass it, you can set the main clock alarm to wake you up, but best to have another alarm set somewhere. It also doesn't have a timer of any kind. The music side is quite good, but the headphones have too short a lead, it plays quite well by Bluetooth, but for the radio you have to plug the headphones into the phone, and the lead is only about 10 inches, anyway my main problem is with my phone company 3 Mobile who promise the world, but I can never get a signal when I need one, especially the flat I live in. When I went to France for a week, it kept trying to connect to the internet, and download new maps, for which I had to pay for, never again Nokia or 3 Mobile. I have a phone I got for a £5er it texts and phones and that's it. Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Carolyn on 19/10/2011 This phone is rubbish. It keeps on deleting text when I am trying to type a text and keeps on disconnecting whilst I am on a call. Rubbish sensor settings too - not very responsive. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Andy Curtis on 04/10/2011 well where should I begin? I'm actually on my 4th one, and not by choice! Out of the box it worked fine... For about 6 weeks. After that the first x6 started to go into offline mode whenever it felt the need. Back to o2 it went and back to nokia. Number 2 was a complete new phone. That one was glitchy from the off. Kept freezing and the camera would stop working for periods of time. Then one morning the diplay became corrupt and number two was returned. Number 3 was the repaired number two. Same case, new guts. Was ok for a while, about two months actually. But then it started to get sluggish and it would freeze frequently. Then it just started to switch off at random times. So i lost my temper and smashed it. Infantile i know. I look after all of my phones and they have always finished their time with me looking almost as new. So you see i was pushed to my limit in order me to smash one. This is number 4. To be honest i cant wait for my contract to end. The camer a is not working already and the bluetooth keeps switching off or fail to even come on. I noticed a load of dust under the screen with this one too. I WILL NEVER EVER HAVE ANOTHER NOKIA! Htc or iphone next. I loved my old nokia luna, a wonderful phone. The x6 however was pretty awful. Its put me off of ever going nokia again. I hope this helps. My friend has one with no issues. My manager has just changed to htc because his x6 failed also. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by benswan from uk on 18/09/2011 in general this phones is rubbish nothing really works properly apart from camera which is the best thing on the phone by far most of these reviews are inaccurate people must work for nokia lol. I am currently on my third one due to varying faults and think a fourth one could be on the cards due to the hearing going wrong. I really regret getting this phone and resent the fact that i have to wait until February for an upgrade! Although i cannot fault O2's customer service for sorting each of the problems which my X6 has suffered! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by sam sophallika on 07/09/2011 I think it is awesome. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Steve J S on 24/08/2011 I have found this to be the most frustrating phone I have ever used. It runs slow between apps, you have to go through so many options just to make a call. The phone lock button is such poor quality mine broke after only 3 weeks. I have installed a slide lock/unlock but the phone oftern turns off the slide function app and I am left unable to acess my phone when I need it. On the plus side the camera and the music player are good. The sat nav on Ovi maps is reasonable too. I have always used Nokia but this has completely turned me off and I will get an i-phone at upgrade. Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Natasha on 21/08/2011 excellent phone, it has all I could ask for, nearly had it for a year now, and it's doing well. It's a brilliant design as it has separate places to plug in your USB, headphones and charger! excellent! the camera is very good quality and the screen is large and easy to use! the only issue I have with it is the charging. My phone has become VERY hard to charge ( I think this is my own fault, I dropped it in milk :L) but still it's very difficult to charge as you have to place it in a certain position, it's battery life is also VERY short, but I love this phone regardless! highly recommend it! Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Jude Dallas Mann on 16/08/2011 I bought a Nokia X6 last year and was so thrilled with its features. Within 12 months it had already developed faults and the photos were never as good or as clear as my previous Sony Eriksson. So back in for repairs and back out last month. Am about to send it in again as I cannot even turn it on. I converted to Sony after my previous expensive Nokia started breaking (also within the 12 month period) and, after having always purchased Nokia, vowed I'd never buy another one. But stupid me ... I have ... and I regret it. I'm now told that after 3 repairs (that should be next month going on the rate of repairs at present), I will be entitled to a refund from my retailer. Will I ever buy or recommend a Nokia again? What do you think!!!! Just so fed up and disgusted!!!! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by 365gaming on 14/08/2011 Nothing but trouble since getting this cheaply made phone. Ive had to replace the screen twice and today the phone just wont charge or turn on when it was working fine the other night. Phone splits, plastic comes apart. For the price you pay you expect it to be manufactured to great standards but not with the nokia x6. Avoid at all costs in my opinion, cant wait to be rid of mine and it runs outdated symbian, says it all. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Meighan on 03/08/2011 Had this phone for over a year. I regret it so much. The phone deletes the texts as your writing. Loses signal very easily. The lock/unlock button the the right side kept falling off so i decided to leave it off, and download a free app to use the phone. It closes applications randomly when being used. internet connection is poor and very slow. Cannot hear the other person while ringing. The sensitivity of the touchscreen is extremely poor compared to other touchscreen mobiles. I have to put up with this for another year! My dad also has this phone and is experiencing similar problems, but has hardly any signal when I do. Overall this phone is very shocking. For a Nokia i originally thought it would be great as we both have only ever had Nokia's but we were both proved wrong. Cant wait till i get my upgrade Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Yf on 01/08/2011 To speed up x6, install a task killer. Overtime mine slowed with all the apps installed. The phone slows through apps that run in the background(they only waste ram by doing so,and slow the phn.. but they are supposed to be quicker to open by running secretely initially) Mobileguard at ovi stores is free and easy and u can close uneccesary apps. Also u can clean the junk files like web cookies and more through this app to free memory....and speed up phn. It wont ruin the phn or lose data. Only the "installation log" of date/time apps were installed would be missing if u choose to delete that also. There are more recent versions of mobileguard at netqin.com for free also. The one at ovi stores doesnt always update. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Pete on 30/07/2011 I can only imagine that the positive reviewers on here owned prehistoric bricks before their purchase of the X6. Nokia have produced what is the most frustrating piece of non-technology I've ever owned and their customer service regarding the problems with the phone is every bit as bad as the phone itself. the phone freezes constantly, it drops internet connection and if you was GPS then don't count on this device to be in any way accurate. It not exactly hard wearing either, the slightest knock or drop from desk height and you could well end up with a very broken phone, which is what happened to mine. Thank goodness as now I can buy a phone that does what it's manufacturer claims. It won't be a nokia I can guarantee. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Kyle Kaye on 28/07/2011 Avoid! Apparantly i have read, that the device updates make the processor faster( 474mhz i read also). If compared to the wildfire, then there is far more ram on the wildfire, which can easily gets used up when having web and apps open on the x6. Thats why i use an app/ram manager. The processor is also a bit faster on the wildfire...which helps with the speed of the phone operating. If u want a phone with built in speakers, and better quality picture on the screen display(more pixels) then go for the x6. Mobile you tube is also fully functional on the x6. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Singh on 31/05/2011 My phone started crashing after i had more apps, games and memory used. The x6 has only 474 ram approx... There are many app managers that are easy to use, which close the apps running in the background that take ram up and waste battery, and low ram like too much open ends up with the system crashing...same as a pc. The best one i found is mobile guard, at ovi, or also at netqins site...it is free. I would also use the rebooting code if the phone acted like it was bugged. ..press the * key then hash 7370 and hash again into dialler. Do a backup of all content before. The proceed to reformat the phone. All data not saved(backed up via memory manager) would maybe be lost, the after format, do restore. This takes about 15 mins. Device updates alse help performance. Like Cooper, I replaced it with the HTC Desire for an extra £2.50 per month in my contract and the Desire blows it out if the water. Proof? I tried to write this review on the X6 and it failed miserably. Writing in the Desire- a doddle Rating: ![]() Reviewed by D.M.G on 17/05/2011 Having also had the nokia 5800 before this, i felt the review for this on mobile phones uk was a little OTT ,of saying this was the 5800 pimped to the max. But after a while i see what they mean. The screen is better, the camera, and the speakers. All isnt a magor change from the older phone..but an improvement yes. The capacitive screen, and 5mgp camera being a much better improvement, if comparing it. Shame the web isnt any faster...and no wonder people aint happy if they payed £250 or more expecting an i phone etc. I like it a lot anyay. Ok the web isn't as good apparantly as android, but personally i didn't wan't to risk getting another phone that wasn't as good as the musia player on the 5800. I use both like mp3 players, you tube etc...and is great if u want some radio or music on the speakers. I use the free app at ovi called internet radio...awesome. And as others have mentioned the free browsers like opera, uc web, really make the web even more usable. Only downside is there isn't full support for flash player...and i haven't found one at adobe either....no big deal though for me with divx(needs installing), mp4, and realplayer on the phone already. And I've now had three of them due to faults. Yes - large memory. Yes - lots of places to store mp3 and video. But to use it as a phone? Slow, unresponsive, poor pick up, occasionally just not connecting to the network (which my second phone, a bargain pay as you go on the same network has no problems with). In short... I feel that Orange has stuck me with a phone that is more an mp3 player than a phone. Shame really, as I thought I was contracting a device to contact other people with: a phone! Came with free Nokia Maps, so no need for the old GPS. Looks really good and has a great touch screen and camera. I would note that every time someone says that their iPhone can do something they consider amazing this phone can do it too. Batterywise, I used it on holiday, taking pictures and phoning home and it lasted 4 days. Did have some problems with Ovi downloads which messed up the battery life, but it's great again now I removed them. It's not the most powerful or quick phone, and it does freeze every now and then. I had an N95 before this and have to say overall the N95 is a better, more powerful phone. The touch screen always freezes, the unlocking switch came off, the volume switch always gets stuck, the phone sometimes decides it doesn't want to let me ring anyone unless i type the phone number in manually! Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Raj on 07/02/2011 I wish I had never gone for this one. Nokia x6 seems to forget that it was meant to be a smartphone and rather harps on the music aspect (well, the great bluetooth worked well only for a few weeks and then for some mysterious reason, the sound is hardly audible now). As a smartphone, it is a huge disappointment. The apps load slowly and sometime do not. Most of the times, I find that Iam unable to download apps from Ovi store. It is pretty bulky when compared to other smartphones. From Nokia, I would have expected something to match the likes of iPhone, HTC etc, if not surpass them. Often the phone hangsup and requires to be restarted. Battery does not perform as we are led to believe. It drains out very quickly, and I have noticed that many times, even after 6-7 hours of charging, the battery is not full and still charging. I've been a Nokia customer for so long that I picked this one up without any thought, but after my experience with the X6, my next phone will s urely not be a Nokia one. It is very digusting to use the X6 and I sometimes feel very frustrated and want to throw it away, but Iam stuck to it thanks to a long contract.
