I've had my Nokia 6700 for 7 months and the number buttons have peeled completely off. When I took it back to Phones 4U they sent it back to the manufacturer for repair under warranty they came back to me saying this wasn't a manufacturing fault and I had to pay £50.00 for them to fix. Very frustrated I have not man handled my phone in any way. Think Nokia are well out of order but what do I do?

Do not buy this phone under any circumstances. I got it as my upgrade from T Mobile. I read the internet reviews and thought it would still be ok. I got it in October and I'm now onto my 3rd (to be fair to T Mobile they It is a misery. Once it switched off and would not go back on. My current one developed a fault where I could not receive calls unless I was calling out! And I even bought the cover to protect it.

I was really reluctant to get it but after not liking the Sony W995 and everyone else in my house having nokia6303 I selected it an am very happy with it. only problem I have is bottom buttons two close so constantly writting a text in capitals by mistake but getting used to it! Loving the ability of tapping it to silence a phone call or show a clock!

When it works its marvellous, but I'm beginning to think that all these 6700's will crash and die prematurely. I'm on my second now from '3' and the charge now last a measly 8 hrs -although wierdly, it fully charges up within an hr! Also to open a text now, takes about a minute - the screen freezes on 'opening message' . Marginally better than my first one, which cut off in calls, froze in middle of texts, and photos and was apparently repaired 3 times - yet still had the same fault everytime. Very disappointing.

I can't believe all these poor reviews for this phone. I am thinking I must have a completely different phone!! I have had the nokia 6700 in black steel since oct 09 and it is a superb phone, the best I have had. It does exatly what a phone should do. The key pad is superb for texting and the sound quality on a call is great. I have taken some great pics on the camera and have experienced no problems what so ever with this phone. I would certainly reccommend it to anyone.

Good phone. I dropped it on a tiled floor the other week, it landed flat on it's screen and was ok. The features are pretty standard but have been reliable. It's never crashed or frozen in the 6 monthes I have had it. Camera is ok but could do with a proper flash. Not good for texting one handed because it's heavy and slim to grip. I don't have any problem with the flat keyboard it is perfectly usable.

Bought a 6700 in october bluetooth never worked properly .Tried to download new software package only connects one out of ten tries then lock up. Brought it back and it was beyond repair so they replaced it. Two weeks later the new phone started dropping calls then it turned itself off never to start again. I use bluetooth a lot sometimes for extensive periods both phones seem to overheat when on bluetooth for periods of a working day I believe this to be the root of the problem with the 6700. AS my son and wife do not use bluetooth and there is no problem with the 6700,s they use.

I brought a 6700 C 2 months back. After having a nice week with it, it started freezing in middle of calls and some times it was not allowed to end the call! Anyway, one day it turns off immediately and never came back to life! Last week I give it for service and the dealer generously replaced with a new one. The best thing is its camera. I like it when there is good light. As I heard lot of people have the same complaints with this model, Nokia must think about replacing this with a more finished modal. I guess, the software is causing all the issues.

Fascinating to read these reviews. So many and such a divergence of opinion, I'm on my third 6700 in 3 weeks. 1. # key soggy 2.camera didn't work 3. battery flat in 2-3 days without use. Has a classy heavy metal feel, you could kill someone with it. Camera seems reasonable, but would-be photographers can forget it My wife's new 6300 lies better in the hand. What to do? I guess its a rubbish in a fancy pack, but know too little about the subject. If anyone can recommend me a sturdy, reliable, simple, aesthetic mobile phone please do .

My Nokia 3315 died after 6 years problem free service. I bought a Nokia 6700 ten days ago. It managed to switch itself off 6 times in that period so I have taken it back to be fixed. In ten days I learned also that the number pad is silver on silver and hard to read. It lights up briefly but not long enough. To switch it on you have to press the red "off" key. Who develops these illogical conventions? Is it the same guy who makes you hit "start" on your computer to switch it off. I think I'll ask for some other model. I need a simple and reliable phone not a fancy camera that doubles as a phone. Any suggestions?

Owned for 2 months, not one single problem, like others reported. Call/signal quality better than the SE K770i it replaced or Nokia 2330. Compared to the SE 902 that was the only other suitable free upgrade on my contract - I found the address book and calendar to be better and syncing with PC without glitch (SE has issues getting first and surname wrong way round). Keypad, screen clarity and build quality better than the SE 902 as well. Camera - seemed to be a good quality lens - a match for the SE 902, but software not as good, but for me camera is only a useful extra.

This phone is rubbish with a capital R. I am totally biased towards Nokias, and have had them since the day dot. So when this one came out I thought, WOW! It looks soo very sleek and smart however, do not be fooled. The phone leaves such bad smudgy marks that one is forever cleaning it; it is heavy, keeps switching off in between calls (even though carphone warehouse said this problem had been rectified), also switches off when texting, talking about texts, it is sooo hard to do so. It looks good...but what do we actually want a phone for? Call and text...defo opt for the Nokia 6303...cheaper and much MUCH MUCH better!!!

This phone SUCKS to text on... The flat key pad makes it impossible to type at any kind of speed on, and make inadvertently hitting the wrong key way too easy. I don't know about everyone else, but this is a regular occurance for me.... Sometimes this is hugely annoying - e.g. sending a message before it's finished, converting the message to a multimedia message (which seems to be an irreversible error unless you faff about with copy and paste) etc. Also, I just find adding in anything other than standard punctuation marks clumsy to do... e.g. a return stroke seems to require going into a menu, rather than a more intuitive and speedy double tap or something, as was the case on my previous sony erricson. (Which incidently, I'll be going back to within a week of having this phone.) It's not all bad though, hence not a one-star rating --- the phone is well constructed, feels solid and has a great screen. The camera is adequate for a phone of this price, as is everything else. In summery, don't buy it if you like to text - it'll drive you mad!

Off to Carphone Warehouse and have now shelled out £65 to have the screen replaced. On top of this, the battery holds charge for no time at all. I've had mine for about 5 months now, and I must say that I am very happy with it. If I'm being honest, there are a few problems with it. First off the keypad isn't exactly the best I've used - the keys are flat and not very big, thus you tend to miskey a lot if you're not paying attention. Voice quality isn't that great either - on several occasions, people kept complaining how my voice sounded muffled, very frustrating (this one seems to be fixed with the latest firmware though). What I love most about this phone though is how nice it feels in your hand. The metal body has a very quality feel to it, looks classy, is perfectly sized and the weight makes it feel very solid. Which is very unlike my previous Nokia 5800 and Navigator - they felt like plastic toys in comparison to this phone. This one is definitely a keeper!

I can make calls, but not receive them (instead, calls are going straight to answerphone), texts aren't coming through, and I can't connect to the internet. And the phone is stating I have full coverage. Now, this could be the phone, or a network problem, but since this has only really started happening since I've been using the 6700, then I'd say that it is the cause of the problems. Great build quality, nice looking, alright keypad, but poor at texting compared to SE and way too buggy. Avoid.

Battery life is shockingly bad (<48 hours), the screen goes black after about 10 seconds of inactivity which is really annoying, and the buttons feel awful, the 0 key being especially hard to use. As for features, other than the upgraded camera, which is admittedly very good, and the GPS, which, after 15 minutes of waiting has yet to actually connect, this phone is basically identical to the older 6300. It's still a perfectly good phone, just not as good as its predecessor the 6300 in my opinion, which I'd much rather use. Just make sure you try it before you buy.
