Its 2010 and I have been using this phone for over 5 years now, and I have never had a problem with it! Its the best phone I have had! Its simple, nothing fancy, it does what I want it to do and thats call and message people! Also its very tough, I have dropped mine countless times, its even survived being dropped into a toilet, and still it has not failed me! I love my phone and Im not planning on getting another untill this one eventually breaks, when ever that may be!!

I'm sorry but I really have to laugh at some reviewers of this, and other, mobile phone. They say, the camera is rubbish, the radio is rubbish, there's no Bluetooth etc etc etc. To these folk, I have 2 simple questions. 1 ... Did you check the specs before you bought it? 2 ... If it was so bad, why did you buy it? The only alternative to a "yes" for question 1 is that you went into a shop and said, "Gimme a phone. I don't care what it is. I just want something that I can moan about"

I had this phone for over 5 years and loved it, it fulfilled all my basic texting needs and by the time i finally had to say goodbye i was so used to it i could use it like a pro, texting at a very fast rate! The ONLY reason I changed was because I moved to a contract as opposed to pay as you go, it made sense to get a new phone free with a contract as by 2009 this was a VERY old phone! However, I still love this phone, with a passion and was sad to let it go. I still keep it, tucked away, i couldn't bear to part with it, even to recycle it for a good purpose, i just love it too much.

The only problem I've had was with the battery last year, I just bought a new one, and the problem was gone. The camera is not fantastic and I understand why you wouldn't buy this phone today, it is really oldfashion, but I just wanted to give him some compliments :)

I wish I had read these reviews before I got my 6610i. Within the first week I took it back to the shop and exchanged it twice - the first time because the screen was scratched (even though it was new out of the box) and the second time because the case creaked. The third time, the salesman told me he wouldn't keep opening boxes until he found one that didn't creak and told me not to come back! His parting shot was to tell me to superglue the case on!! Nokia's quality went seriously downhill with this phone - I won't get any other Nokia until I've seen a serious improvement in quality.

I've had my 6610i for two years now and can't fault it except for one or two buttons that now need to be pressed a little firmer than usual. Admittedly the screen & Camera could be a better resolution but it's not bad for a phone! 1 feature it lacked is the ability to play MP3's. I love the predictive text however the 3210 was easier to send messages as the 6610i requires the use of menu's & scrolling to do a simple send. Otherwise the 6610i has been very reliable and the radio has been useful. Recently I've been looking to update but all the reviews I read of the new phones are not that promising. The best so far appears to be the 3110c. S/E's seem to have battery problems. LG stands for Load of Garbage. Samsung's predictive test is bad plus battery prob's. I'm inclined to stay with the 6610i!

The Nokia 6610i isn't that good. These are the things that it can't do: film, play music when you're on the move and the camera quality isn't very good. It costs 12p for sending a text and I think that's too much for just a text message. The good thing about it is that you can block any phone number that you have in your contacts for free but nearly every phone can do that anyway. Another good thing is that it can go on the internet but nearly every phone can do that anyway as well.

I had this fone for like 2 years when i got it it was, " new " then a week later it was " old " dated very quickly dunnno why, that was around the time video cameras were being introduced i think. if u take a pic on high resolution it takes about 25kb turn it to low resolution and its about 8kb, but i cant see any diffence in the picture, nor can most people i have shown. as 8kb is nuffin, i have managed to store around 400+ pictures on this fone which is great (very very very poor qualtiy pix compared to fones on the market now mind you). i have just brought the motorola L7 and now realise how rubbish the 6610 camera is. if you have never had a camera fone b4 or have never been on anyone elses, like me when i got this fone. the camera's rubbish ness with not bother you as much. if ur lookin 4 a fone to fone and txt people on. and take the odd pick wiht this is a good fone. this fone has lasted 2 years, been droped and sat on many a time. and still works fine the batery is still fine. still lasts for ages after each charge. if u stand on this fone and crak the screen you can just replace the case, (in a range or exciting colours) whereas other fones would have had it.

Best thing about it is the FM radio which really sounds good and reception is impressive. Also easy to text on. Otherwise its pretty dissapointing and like something from 4 years ago: - Horrific camera (might as well not have bothered. Poor battery life (that is suprising considering how little it does). Poor ringtones (just about polyphonic). And not even good for talking on as there was constant background hiss. If you want a phone for a tenner its OK but don't pay anymore than that for one!

Okay, where do I start, I've had this phone for over a year now... Been with Orange for aaaages ever since they did their pay-as-you-go-and-get-a-trusty-Motorola-brick-for-£29 deal back in the late 90's. Then I got the ill-fated Motorola T191, so when I went into the Oxford Street Orange shop last year wanting something a little bit special for a change (I don't want all bells and whistles, just phone/messaging plus a halfway decent camera) they recommended this. Looking back on it, they were extremely dismissive and acted like they had a million and one better things to do other than actually sell me a phone that I wanted. So, bearing that in mind, here are the pros: - Good, simple user interface - Radio headset good - Battery life excellent - It texts And here are the cons: - Rubbish ringtones. Didn't even have 'ring ring'. Absolutely awful. - Flimsy, creaking case; the screen cracked after less than a month - Several of the buttons function erratically, esp. joystick, power button and the lock keypad function, which has led to many an unwanted call made in my bag - Considering I asked for a decent one, the camera quality is shockingly poor. - It sometimes goes mental, ringing for no reason until it is manually switched off, or more commonly, until the battery is removed - The predictive text dictionary is very small. It can't remember words from one week to the next - Crashes when using internet or even the 2 games it has like Bounce - Surprisingly slow startup - Unless the backlight is on, the display is frustratingly dim - and the BIG ONE.... incoming and outgoing calls are INAUDIABLE!!! The headset audio function broke down after about 5 months! I have had to make and receive EVERY CALL on LOUDSPEAKER for 8 MONTHS.... extremely socially embarrassing, I think you'll agree. And the worst thing is, even loudspeaker's getting quieter, as well as the alarm clock and ringing tones. DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES buy this phone, even second/third-hand. I'm tempted to switch to another network, just because Orange have been taking the mick so much - I've been waiting to upgrade to a Nokia 6280 for six weeks now. I can't wait to get rid of this phone!

I really wouldnt recomend this phone. I have always had nokia phones since i discarded my very first motorola 'brick' phone. However, when i bought this recent nokia 6610i at an incredible #129 i was greatly disappointed. I bought the phone most obviously for the camera and colour images, however when using these fesatures soon realised that the quality was unsatisfactory. The camera is the main downfall of the phone as the quality is so bad. To get a satisfactory picture you need to be situuated in bright light and be far away from the subject you are taking the photo of. The 'nightmode' is utterly useless and all of my photos have visible lines through them. When recently at a gig i decided to take photos of the stage this phone litrally could not focus on the stage area and all the images where blurry. A seconed problem i found with the phone is its continous confusion, it rings for no apparent reason even when no-one is calling and can only be stopped by turnin off the phone. I really would say that this is the worst expense i have ever paid and would certainly not reccomned this phone.

It really is infuriating that after all these years Nokia still can't get some of the most fundamental basics sorted on so many of their phones. Like on this one, the case creaks when using the keypad, which itself is so dimly and unevenly lit that in low ambient light, text messaging takes about three times as long as on phones with decently illuminated keypads like (ironically) their own 3510i which is brilliant (in both senses)- I still use one now for that reason. I fact I bought a 6610i on the strength of the 3510i thinking it would be an improvement as it looks like their natural evolution of the 3510i but in acual fact it's a step back (several steps back in fact). Nokia in particular seem so pre-occupied with all the gizmos these days they seem to forget all about their phones' actual useabilty. Also like so many others these days this phone is just too small. It all makes so many of their phones - like this one - look and feel so cheap, which really this one is decededly not (cheap, that is). If they made a bigger version with a decent sized screen it would still fit in the average shirt pocket or handbag and be far easier to actually use. I would be interested to hear from Nokia themselves if they ever bother looking at stuff like this.
