Reviewed by Law on 02/07/2008I've had this phone since November last year and on the whole I've been happy with it... sure the battery life isn't what it used to be but I can still get away with charging it overnight... HOWEVER during the last 4-5 weeks it charging has become very erratic. I can plug it in over night and even though it displays the charging battery graphic it can be dead by morning... or nearly dead. I just had the firmware upgraded and its been on the charger for 2 hours and still it shows the battery to be nearly empty. It's time to call Vodafone and get rid of it... what use is a phone with no charge? Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by James on 30/06/2008 looks pretty enough and feels nice BUT i am now on my third 6500c and i dont even know if this one works as they wouldnt issue me with a battery for this one because they say they never got a battery off me and dialaphones repair company are now ignoring me :( anyway couldnt get any customer service off dialaphone and have been paying my contract for three months with no phone now as they just dont work maybe this is a freak case but if you want good customer service avoid dialaphone like the plague. The phone has a fault that both Nokia & Orange are aware of but aren't telling customers about at the time of ordering, It is to do with the Address book, if you try to transfer/copy your address book from the simm to the phone you'll loose them, you'll also notice that you addresses aren't in any order, frustrating when you try to find one! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by TBO on 18/06/2008 Got this phone as a free upgrade with Vodafone. The battery life was very poor. After a full charge the phone only provided around 1 days standby time before requiring a re-charge. As I am required to be on call out of hours the phone was really not suitable for my purposes. Other than that I found it easy to use, the only other issue is that it has only the slim line usb charge option, so no charging with an older nokia charger. I've rated this phone 2 stars brought down heavily by the poor battery life. Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Susan on 17/06/2008 Hmm, unsure. Never been a Nokia lover. They try to make them too much into toys rather than phones. Had this phone for a month or so, wallpaper just resets itself randomly, ring tones reset themselves when I switch it off, battery life is a joke, hence why I have to switch it of leading to it resetting itself.. Wouldnt recommend it. In fact wouldnt even keep it if I had a longer warranty!! I can't even have a conversation with my boyfriend on it (he has one too) without one of our phones cutting out because of poor signal. I live in London - signal should NOT be an issue with a phone like this. Avoid. At all costs. I'm going to get a 3 SkypePhone today just to rid myself of this awful handset. And I'm really disapointed. dont get me wrong the phone does look great and it has got really great features the problem is that you cant use them for fear of the pathetic battery going dead at a blink of any eye and then you have to wait until it has been on charge for about an hour before you can turn it back on! when I'm out and about I'm scared to text or listen to music incase god forbid I have some sort of emergency and need to use it for a phone call. stand by time 9 days try nine hours!! Also the handset is quite slippy to hold in one hand whilst texting and when it's in my pocket I'm scared i break it. Today I'm sending it back and exchanging it for a sony ericsson W890i bit apprehensive as all I have ever owned is Nokias but it cant be any worse than the classic. With me there were no software or operational glitch. No additional application is required to transfer audio/video files from a PC. Only thing Nokia did not consider is a general i/o port with rectangular shape and a long plug for earphones. When earphones are plugged you need five cm more space in your pocket to store the phone and rectangular shaped port is vulnerable for motion. In six months I got the plug of my earphones broken and it is not available in the market so far. What was wrong with the standard circular shaped earphone sockets? All my phones have been Nokia ... this one is such a dissapointment! Only good thing about it is it's nice and thin in my pocket. It heats up to an unbearable level while on a 2 min call.... Nokia.. this ones a dud! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by YT on 17/05/2008 hey there, i had this phone on a orange contract, iopted for it as it looks amazing, but being a engineer i seem to break a lot of phones due to my work, and i thought that this would be ok, as the majority of it is stainless steel and durable plastic. but after having it for about a month i was getting frustrated by the small keys and the stupidly small space which you can write a text in. i then dropped it for the first time from a sitting postion onto a wooden floor and i muted it for good, so now i have opted to get the 3110 classic and just stick my contract sim card in that rather then get a replacement off my insurance, thats how bad it is. so overall, nice to have on your mantle piece, but if you want a phone to use every day then dont buy. cheers ta x Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Pete on 16/05/2008 Ended up getting my 6500 classic on orange network! Weird I know, but if you let it drain then charge it fully swiched off, your battery will last days and days just like any other phone! Do it an post here how you get on cos it worked for me. Now I'm 100% happy with it!!!! Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Tracy on 13/05/2008 Got this on contract upgrade after having a Samsung E900 for the past year. I love it. Its stylish, very clear & most of all, simple to use. I hated my E900 as it was always doing things I hadn't intended on doing as I'd catch the touch screen by accident with my thumb. None of that nonsense here. Nokia have done it again, thinking of the consumer rather than how much can they fit into a phone. I never used the memory card slot in my samsung so think this have the 1G of memory in the phone is ideal for me. I have dropped the phone on ceramic floor tiles a few times & it hasn't harmed it in any way either. So its tougher than it looks too. Love the large screen too.The small keypad suits my short fingers so havent had any trouble using it at all.Having false nails caused the numbers to come off my samsung & thats not happening here either. Doesn't leave a bulge in ur pocket or take up vital space in a matchbox handbag features - okay not the best, but if you want to be able to make and receive calls, send a few text and picture messages (and lets face it thats what 99.9% of people use their mobiles for!!) it does what it says on the tin camera - for a camera so slim, i think the picture quality is pretty fab memory - ok so no memory card but how much space do you need? 1GB is more than enough to satisy most people MP3 player - sound quality great, and stores a decent number of tunes to keep you occupied battery life - no issues here. Instead of using the phone straight away, leave it to charge for about 13/14 hours before using (as most phones instruct you to do) for the first time and then your battery life will be as per manufacturer states. I had bluetooth on all the time, spoke for at least an hour a day, sent numerous SMS and the battery still lasted 3.5 days without the need to recharge call volume - if you read the user manual, states quite early on that you use the navigation button in the middle to turn volume up/down I think if you have a little patience, read through the manual, and keep your expectations realistic, you can't help but to be amazed by the phone. The only downside is the camera, it is not very good, however everything else is good such as the quality and looks. The main reason for buying this phone is for the looks alone. If you want a phone that looks good and works well then i would recommend it. For cheaper alternative the 6300 is a good buy.
