I have bought a Nokia 6303c on 29 Dec 2009. The phone has a major defect that the time shown on message receipt is incorrect by hours. I reported this fact to Nokia Priority dealers, M/s GD Cellcom Pvt Ltd, Wanowari, Pune 411040. India. On my first visit the personal fiddled around with the settings and convinced me that all was well. I made one or two tries and found my problem eliminated. Just a couple of days later I again went to the same shop when another attendant tried his best but couldn't find a solution. He pronounced this defect as a software problem and referred me to Nokia-Care (Kaustubh) located at Shankarseth Road. They put my mobile through some computer trestment on 13 Mar 2009 for which my simcard was removed deleting my phone book data to some extent. That was okay with me since My aim was to get the defect removed first. The cellphone was handed back to me saying that all was okay. Sorry to say that the defect stands as before and my problem unattended. Speaks volumes for the lack of professionalism in your men. Now I learn that my Friend Mr Talwar, who had purchased his similar set later than me, also has the same problem. Nokia should wake up to the fact that their 6303c pieces in circulation around our area are defective pieces and take necessary actions to refund the cost to gullible customers. Sureshdar@yahoo.com

nokia 6303 is quite ok except on LIMITED jar memory issues. The phones runs out of jar memory when running at more than its specified. Example im running a chat service from SMART server here in the Philippine using uzzap apps. The apps consume an 803 kb, while in the middle of the chat say a 10 minute conversation will quit the apps and prompts to "phone out of memory/java/lang/out of memory. Such annoying. I wondered why nokia guys never developed it into unlimited like other previous nokia such as 6600 with unlimited jar memory.

If you're buying this to be able to use the maps be forewarned that you need to purchase an external item in order to use this despite the fact this information is not available immediately upfront. Bit off a rip off when thats the reason you purchased a phone considering this is a built in free service with most phones. Also Nokia intends to introduce a charge to download this information once you have purchased the hardware

This phone has lots of good points: Classy finish, superb keypad, excellent ease of use, great reception and call quality. For the basics its outstanding. When it comes to more advanced features its mid range. Very nice, bright, clear 2.2 inch screen, no match for touchscreens (too small) but superb for a traditional phone. Can be seen well outdoors too. Camera is resonable. 3.2MP with autofocus. Quality is good outdoors, adequate indoors but flash is a bit weak. Video recording is fine, nothing special but on a par with most phones. Music player is good, radio is nice to have but FM reception is a bit weak, so its only for strong signal areas. Ease of use is brilliant. I love the way you can customise the wallpaper so it fits perfectly and can even set it on slideshow mode. Very classy. In short if you want a good honest phone thats enjoyable to use its great value for money and miles better than the cheaper 2730 (finished so much better, keypad in a different league). Not so good for web browsing (only 2G and small screen) but opera mini works pretty well and speeds things up. Whether you want this or the 6700 will depend on how many extra features you need. If you want GPS to use nokia maps you need the 6700 unless you want to lug a bluetooth receiver along with you. The 6700 also has a slightly better camera. Its nearly double the price though. Whats worth mentioning is this 6303 does the basics better than a smartphone (for example it will display who my message is from, far easier to type a text than on touchscreen, reception is better and one of only a few which phones to get 5 rather than 4 stars for it, so if you don't need all these extra features its worth getting this.

To control phone memory usage. Phone directory not use only the sim, deleted some of installed apps, installed only uzzap app(a leading chat service here in the philippines). Unfortunately the chat apps will be exited within 10 to 15 minutes due to "phone out of memory/java/lang". This is some kind of embarrassing when you are in the middle of a chat but suddenly quits. And you have to log again. For your info guys

Very good phone all round--solid, good battery life, does the basics very well. My only criticism would probably be the camera. (Oh yes, and the ridiculously short micro USB cable that's supplied.) I put a 16GB microSD card in my 6303 and the phone was quite happy with it, despite the specifications saying it was limited to 4GB. The video playback is also decent, so it's also a credible alternative to something like an iPod Nano.

Excellent phone. Had it 3 months now. Texting is easy (easier than my old 6300)without looking at phone all the time owing to slight curve just below screen. Screen is particularly good -easy to read in bright light and has strong, clear font. I like the computer style tab, (like a right-click option) deeper in menus so you don't have to press so many keys- bit picky but these things make you enjoy using a phone. Paulose from India says keypads are soft-touch, in UK they are hard (metal and hard plastic)which I prefer. Exc battery, plenty of memory, good media player - a little gem!

This is just as reliable, with even better features than the 6300. Excellent job Nokia! Especially for £60 at dialaphone!

Really disappointed, changed from Nokia 6021 to 6303 what should have been an upgrade turned out to be a downgrade. Cannot hear the ring tone, lots of missed calls and messages. The 6021 automatically unlocked when placed in the car kit cradle, no such luck with Nokia 6303 any suggestions, as this is really annoying. Am seriously looking at changing to something else.

Seems like a very good phone indeed. Picked it for no particular reason but having had it for a day I have already got a Java program compiled and running on it. I simply downloaded a free development environment with an emulator onto my PC and copied a compiled program onto the phone over Bluetooth. What could be better? Never mind the small details - easy programming really matters. I assume this is Symbian but can't say I've found that specified anywhere. I have found that a 400KB textual .html file is too much for the browser to handle, though I can't say I'm surprised and I was just trying out its limits. Anyway, when I've written the software I need then I will probably pension off my old PDA as well as the ancient phone.

The phone is well styled and looks good with a large screen and compact key pad, but unlike some, the buttons are a good size and still usable. It has all the usual features plus nokia maps, you have to buy a license and seperate gps to get full functinality, but why, after all if you traveling any distance its far cheaper and practical to use satnav. The installed maps are useful for finding you way round local areas you're not familiar with-fyi-if you want to plan a route the select them manually from the map as if you just enter place name or post code you get barmy results.A minor point but the memory card is under the battery cover, also phone is not unlocked,it just has settings for several default networks, mine can be used on orange or o2.good phone easy to use, would recomend esecially for battery life which is best i've known.

This phone's volume is its bane. Am absolutely dissatisfied. I 'ass'umed that the alarm sound would be just the same as what we hear from the media player. The alarm is hardly audible when the A/C or ceiling fan is ON! We pay premium price for the brand and are taken for a clean ride!. The Nokia Concept shop, the sales outlet, the service engineers - all are touting the reduced volume as a feature!!. I purchased this phone on 2-nov-09; mailed the customer care on 3-nov-09 and sent it to Nokia Delhi on 12-nov-09. After the 'checkup/repair' the volume level are just the same.

I bought this phone for my 13 year old daughter with quite high hopes. She wanted something easy to use with good camera and music space for a fairly cheap price. I wanted something which she would like but was also quite cheap as she has had 7 phones in the past 2 years which she has lost or broken. It has and average camera quality which s good for taking shots for computer ect as it saves in JPEG format so you dont have to upload them then change it. She has had this phone for 2 months and so far is taking good care of it. It is easy to use and recommendable.

WELL--what an absolutely fantastic little 'phone! The second I'd got it up and running I just KNEW I'd got it right this time, having VERY recently done the wrong thing, for myself anyway,in purchasing an LG Cookie 501 and despite perservering with it,from the beginning I was never confident in using it. However,I cut my losses, did a bit of research on the internet and plumped for the Nokia 6303. I can see that in future that all I'll ever be using will be Nokia!!! This particular model is absolutely dead easy to use and navigate and the camera with flash is just superb and takes wonderful photos--very unlike the aforementioned model. I would highly recommend the 6303 to anyone and would never hesitate in purchasing future models from Nokia if they stay with a similar format no matter how much they update. It's so neat in size, nice to look at and the keys are so easy to use as are the various great aspects to the phone itself once you start using it. I'm just so glad I decided to go with it and only wish I'd had the forethought to read such reviews before my last expensive purchase although in fairness I bought it in a panic while in town as my last Samsung--another great little phone of some years--cut out completely as I was shopping. However,it has resulted in me getting something rather special,I feel and I hope others considering buying the Nokia 6303 will find this useful as it undoubtedly would make a superb Christmas present and is suitable for all age-groups and not just the gadget-mad youth, lol!!

I wasn’t expecting an i-phone when I bought the Nokia 6303, but I am disappointed with the internet capabilities. I need to view live flight arrivals at London Heathrow Airport, and would also like to view ‘YouTube’. It can barely download the flight arrivals page, i have to first enter the exact web address to get it, and take takes several minutes to download. And viewing anything on the YouTube website is impossible. What is even more ridiculous is the fact the a bookmark icon is preinstalled onto the phone, but you still can’t view anything. It just stops working. I have increased the memory from 1Gb to max 4Gb but makes no difference. I tried contacting Nokia’s premium rate helpline who after over an hour simply said that the webpage was too big for the phones capabilities, or that my airtime provider (T-mobile) was not delivering a fast enough broadband transmission to deliver it. Offered no solution as how to increase the use the extra 4Gb memory card installed.

I recently bought a Nokia 6303 Classic and am very happy with it. It is quite a tough little phone as I already dropped it once and came to no harm. I am surprised the lasting battery life span as I have been playing Sudoku with it daily and it lasted a week before I needed to recharge the battery. The screen is bright and clear. I have to say the best feature of the phone is the Sudoku game. It has a very clear screen. I had a couple of stand alone Sudoku games machine in the past but have to gave them away as the screen is so poorly lit that my eye sights could not cope with it. If you are looking for a straight forward phone, I highly recommend it.

As usual, great call quality from Nokia. Buttons are a little fiddly (and very slippy) if you have large-ish hands. You can set the text size for writing messages to large which is great for us long-sighted people, but you can't change the font size of incoming text messages. Somebody at Nokia never thought that through. Otherwise it's pretty good, no software crashes etc., just gets on with it.
