hi..a few years later down the line, i still use my 6230i, mainly for gprs wap use. i won't let go of this phone as the battery is very good since i get 4 hours of wap compared to 1 hour of wap on my other phone nokia 6300.. the memory card is small but good at the time. if it supported 2gb at the time i would have been happier.. but as we have moved on since then, looking back in nostalgia, i'm fond of this phone

My first moby, had it four and a half years now. Also had since then a Sony slide phone which died at the first splash of wine and a Motorolla pebble which was awkward to use with stupid menu etc. and now I have a works phone HTC Touch 2 which I can't get on with as it's far too complex to just use as a phone with one hand and it's battery lasts only one day! OVERALL this phone is best as it has been used on building sites and dropped many many times incl. in water and still works fine! Original battery still goes 2 days which is twice the new HTC. Signal is good, radiation low to moderate, keypad easy, sound quality high, ergonomics great, manly & tough design and always reliable. In fact it's bullet proof! 10 out of 10! I love it and want to buy a new one now, in 2011!!! Well done Nokia.

I bought my Nokia 6230i just two days after the launching of this original model in Malaysia from Nokia store. Until now 5th November 2010, the internal devices are still OK and functioning well, except the outer parts start scratches due to ages and difficulty getting the original body casing. Until now I am still using it. Waiting for the coming Nokia E73.....

I think this is a really great phone. It is affordable. People who can't afford to buy new phones with new technologies can buy this one. Camera is good but the video kinda sux. It has music player but it cannot play '.WMA' files so it has to be converted to '.mp3'. You wont get much space for games and applications. Maximum space for games and application is less than 5MB. So if you are looking for games to play on mobile phone then you must look for other latest nokia phones. Also you need a PC and Nokia software to install games and applications. I did recieve the CD but haven't recieved the cable to connect to PC so I brought a USB bluetooth and I transfer and install games using that. I got a good looking black version and I hate the white/silver one. Finally I woulden't recommend this phone but I like it :)

If you don't mind the 1.3m camera then everything else on it is brilliant, especially the expandable memory. Try and buy one of these in an online auction and you'll see just how loved they are! 4 years on second hand models still sell for £20 a piece. 6230i..........Great phone in its day. I found one the other day in a recycle bin for mobiles. Loads of different makes and models, but this one stood out more than the others as I had one when they first came out. Since then I have never had one that comes close to the quality of menu/interface to the build of handset. Yeah it does get dust behind the cover and on the screen, but hte cover removes and you can clean it. I use a 3109 for work. I do prefer the up to date menu/interface Nokia has at the moment, but I seek a phone with little gadgets just like the 3109. I did have a 3110 for my private phone but the only extra was a rubbish camera, yet the phone was great. Why are manufacturers going away from what a phone should do. You make calls and send texts and that what phones should be about. Please please please Nokia, make a phone for calls and texts only, combine what was the 6310i the 6230i and phones like 3109 and make a great new phone with great battery life, signal etc.

I've been using 6230i for more that 2 years 8 months and had absolutely no issues for the first 2 years. Only recently there have been problems with the battery getting puffed and discharging within a couple of hours. I still cant give away this phone. It has all the necessary features that are in today, sleek enough to not show an ugly bulk in the pockets, not too slim or delicate like the new phones and easily noticeable if its missing ;). I've changed 2 batteries and will buy another one soon. For long life of the new battery, my vendor advised me to only charge it for 30-45 minutes when the battery is low. I have a feeling it will work. So this is to all those facing a similar issue.

Yes the camera is a bit sad at only 1.3 megs however I did upgrade to a N73 last year and it has given up the ghost and was not a patch on this phone. Easy to use and quick to respond, what more could you ask for but for Nokia to copy this phone and improve some of the features like the camera but then in doing that would it ruin a good phone. This phone is far from fashionable, but its brilliant. I've had mine for a number of months and I really like it. It's easy to use, it has really good storage space without a memory card and the alarm clock is great. The only problems I've had with it is the camera quality, the size of the screen and the battery life. A good phone if your not bothered about looks or features, but just need a solid, basic phone for calls and texts.

By far the best phone i've had. Classic nokia styling and easy to use. Had it for just over 2.5 years and don't intend to change it for sometime yet!. Only problem i had was it used to freeze up sometimes when using video playback, but after updating software from nokia website this was rectified. Battery still lasts well too. Overall a great phone does exactly as it says on the tin!.
