I don't know what the guy complaining about about battery life is talking about. My phone lasts about 3.5 - 4 days from charge to charge with the screen on full brightness and with me using it an average amount (texting quite a lot, calling occasionally). It doesn't look that cheap, there's nothing wrong with the keypad and I've never had any trouble with it. Far better than the awful samsung and motorola phones I have had.

Yep excellent phone, as you say almost all the features of the n95 but at a fraction of the cost! Does look a bit oldschool but that somehow feels refreshing to know its got all the bell's and whistle's on the inside! Very lightweight and slim with an excellent camera and sat nav system but the sat nav isnt exactly free as it wants to connect to the internet to get assisted gps and you have to pay a subscription fee after your 90day trial is up to get turn by turn guiding :( Comes with a big 1gb sd card so plenty of space for storing ya music on and the sound qaulity aint to bad either. Nice sharp display with a 2.2inch screen and impressive web browser. I would highly recomend this phone but doubt it will appeal to the fasion concious or teenager's. If you can get over the restrained looks then you have to get this phone!!!!!!!!!

This phone's real strength is the 5mp camera. The image quality of the pics from this phone is excellent (bearing in mind this is a cameraphone). The build quality isn't anywhere near as bad as people make out and I'm having no problems with the keys, but then I do have rather dainty fingers The unexpected bonus was the GPS. Can't live without it now! The battery life is not good though which is why only four stars.

Hey, Have just read the reviews after getting my second Nokia 6220 phone. So far the only problem I'm having is that the music player keeps searching for songs and the only way to exit the application seems to be to turn the phone off and on again. Am I doing something wrong? Otherwise this phone does everything I want it to do.

Phone is a bit sensitive in hardware and should only be used with care. If you keep running some applications, the battery will drain out very fast (within few hours) specially for GPS navigation software and Maps. 6220c has good specifications and at its market price, it is difficult to get a phone with such specs. Main difference with N82 is that 6220c does not have Wi-Fi.Sound quality is good. Some people say that it does not have good vibrations but I feel no problem. Keypad and plastic body is not appreciable. If one can use with care, it may be good choice.

Terrible. Simply terrible. This is the worst phone I have ever owned. Not by features, for this has a formidable array. But the build quality is astoundingly bad. Finally, after 6 months I have binned it and purchased something which I can actually text on. This is a flimsy, appalling product which makes even the most basic operation a tedious affair. Avoid. This was the first time I owned a Nokia, but will not touch them again.

Anyone complaining about the beeps during calls it appears to have a simple solution. If you touch the camera button it generates a small beep. When you hold the phone it rests on the camera button and hence you get small beeps.

I got this phone on an upgrade about 6 months ago. When asked which phone i would like to upgrade to, I said the nokia 6500 slide, but was offered this for no extra cost. However I am now really wishing I had stuck to my original choice. There is no doubt that the 6220 classic has hundreds of amazing features, but i think nokia has tried to put too much into the phone. I couldn't agree more with the feel of the phone - it's horribly cheap and plastic and feels like it will fall apart. The keys are horrendous (my last phone was the 6233 which was the best phone i've ever had, the keys especially were a dream to use!), they just feel tacky and i find my thumbs ache after sending just one text. I've also had problems with the phone freezing, the only solution being to pull the battery out. And as others have mentioned the interface isn't great, it takes quite a while to be ready after turning it on. There are lots of good features - the camera is brilliant, the picture quality is great and it does do everything you want a phone to do. But for me the build quality has put me off, and i'm now swapping.

I had my Nokia 6220 classic for 4 months before I started having major problems. From the beginning the device used to freeze scrolling through photos and takes an infuriating amount of time to activate the camera when you want to take a picture. The pictures, though 5mp, don't come out great and the camera takes a while to focus. I much preferred my old sony ericcson 2mp phone camera. The freezing became more frequent and now the device shuts down randomly and turns on when it's supposed to be off. 3, my network, don't know why. They say I must have dropped it, which I didn't as far as I can remember. I would highly recommend NOT buying this phone. I swear I'll never buy a Nokia after this....grrrrrr

I've had one of these on a cheapish contract (upgraded from a 6120 Classic) for a few months now and I'm pretty happy with it. I returned the first one - the camera was faulty - so I believe the stories of quality issues but the replacement model has been fine. The top six buttons are not very well positioned and the keypad is really creaky but you get used to that. The looks are rather dull - the grey plastic surround would look better in black or in aluminium like the 6120 but the phone is very capable for a small light candy bar that disappears in jeans pockets - I hate bricks and sliders. The camera is outstanding - finally a decent camera with a usable flash. Symbian is always a pleasure and I use TomTom on the phone rather than the built in subscription satnav offering. The signal strength is fair but the phone isn't very good at recovering from a period of not finding a signal and going to Offline mode then straight back to General magically takes you f rom no bars to most bars. Battery life is fair. I've had to reformat the memory card twice after the phone had problems reading it. Overall I'm not sorry I bought it and would recommend it to someone who wants a smart phone that's cheap, light and has a really usable camera.

For - GPS, 3.5G internet speed, 5MP camera, good music player, online photo service link and nokia music store, lightweight and pocketable, user interface, reliability (before firmware upgrade). Its tougher than you think given lightweight build. 6 months on and used as a travel companion it has only one minor scuff despite being dropped and thrown around in the bottom of a bag - some sony's which felt classier out of the box ended up looking distinctly 2nd hand but not this nokia. The GPS is great for walking around towns. Don't need a bulky map. £20 for a years license, it has got me places in the dark in cities I've not been to before, has a handy POI feature too. Against - Not as reliable since firmware upgrade (sometimes says communication error when I try to make a call) - so I wouldn't recommend upgrading firmware if it works well, as you don't get many new features. The keypad is horribly clicky out of the box. But it unclips and with 2 sheets of paper inbetween the keys and pad its a gem to use! The plastic is a bit creaky and feels low rent (but stands up well to general use - lets call it robust). GPS is not good enough for driving as screens to small. Too fiddly to operate on the move and can take an age to recalculate routes. It costs £80 for voice navigation for one year. A garmin or tomtom for £100 is a no brainer! No wifi. To sum up - Nearly as good as an N95 (it would be if it had wifi) but a lot more pocketable, this is a great all round phone. If it works well out of the box don't upgrade the firmware! Also if it becomes unreliable remember its a computer so move some apps to memory card and it will run better.

Got the 6220 classic as an upgrade, was simply SHOCKED to see how bad the build quality is. It looks like a cheap chinese fake and feels the same way, simply terrible. However all the gadgets are fantastic, the GPS reception is exceptionally good. Good quality sound on the music player. Clear phone calls. But I have returned mine and got something else, it will never survive a fall and its just very 'plasticky' and flimsy. Sorry Nokia, I'm a fan generally but this fall in quality is just way to hard to swallow. Would work if it was marketed as a 'disposable' handset, that you can recycle after a couple of months!
