Reviewed by Thomas Zacharia on 20/11/2011 This is an excellent phone, as far as the simple usage is concerned. The 2MP cam is superb. You can take good pictures and feed it to your pc. The audibility is also good and of course the download speed too. I recommend this phone to anyone who wish to use a simple and reliable phone. Rating:

Reviewed by Zs on 31/07/2011 This is the best phone I have ever had. The short battery life is the only weakness of Nokia 6120. I have used it for 3 years and as I didn't use it with enough care unfortunately it is starting to have several problems now. I wish I had treated the phone properly, because it has now been about 6 months that I've been trying to find a replacement, and it seems like there is no other phone that could be as good as my little 6120 and I am devastated that this is not available anymore to buy. Reviewed by Rildlanster on 09/01/2011 In 2011 (that is it) I'm still using th 6120c without big problems. I said "big" cause I can't run the SmartMovie app anymore and I don't know why, despite of my attempts of reinstalling the firmware using OVI. But it is ok. Great phone with long life components. I'm vigorously using it for 2 years now, including listening to music while I take my bath. This 6120c is supporting all the steam without complaining (up to now at least). This is not recommended, I know, and don't do that guys. But, as long as it stands, it will take baths running my favorite songs. We are in 2011, I work with computers and I'm aware of all the tech around, but this little 6120 keeps supplying all I need, except WI-FI. Nothing is perfect, but it worth every penny spent. Reviewed by Callum Sykes on 13/03/2010 This phone really is amazing, the fact that i'm writing a review of it, on it is evidence of really how great this mobile is at internet browsing and tons of other stuff. I'm on the Three network on contract and it is brilliant in every way. Can't fault it. Although we can't get 3G coverage at our house we have an EDGE mast down the road so we get still some awesome speeds. Where is phone really stands out though is when you step into a 3G zone. It is so quick at loading eBay that if you blink then you miss it! And you can watch YouTube download some really heavy files (800 MB movies) in a matter of minutes. I'm on an unlimited data tariff and that is recommended for this phone or you can run up a bill as it does automatically download emails and news and app updates off the network which can use up some data. Three give you unlimited data for £5 which is a really good deal compared to o2's £15 bolt on and other networks. The processor is really fast, fast enough for even the most impatient person. The only problem I have is the small amount of memory which comes up with a message 'memory full, close some applications' much too often. This is because you can really multitask with this phone, you can switch inbetween apps at the touch of a button. Apart from this ao outstanding phone! Rating:
Reviewed by My Name is Muhammad Bux From Pakistan on 10/03/2010 When i first got this phone i was so suprised at how small and light it was. The camera/vedeo recorder and battery life are also suprisingly good. The download speeds on the web are outstanding and are comparable to broadband speeds. When playing music out loud, the sound is very good and can get very loud if you want it too. Typing numbers/texting is also very satisfying, even though the keys are quite small. There are only three bad points: it has no wifi (understandable considering its low price and how slim it is compared with other 3G phones), the phone case can become susceptible to fingerprints and markings and the 'menu' and 'C' buttons are quite hard to press quickly as they are on the very edge and you have to end up using a finger nail instead of the tip of your finger. Overall this phone is 100% worth the money, as it isn't a very expensive phone and the slightly annoying points about this smartphone are heavily outweighed by the good points. Rating:

Reviewed by John on 13/10/2009 We use the 6120 with Bluetooth connection in Health Shuttles driven by elderly retired volunteers. Today it wouldn't work. Someone had switched it to "Silent". Despite most of us being Nokia users, not one of us was able to find any menu item that enabled us to make it "Loud" again. We'd love to go back to our old ones that all work like our own old Nokias that let us send texts and talk to people. We all hate this model with so many features that you can't work out how to use it for the basics. I've brought the CD_ROM home to study and see what we should have done. I even had to be told there was a slim button at the extreme left to get the Menu. It didn't look like a button. Rating:

Reviewed by Kate on 04/09/2009 I have not bought this phone, but I thought that I should warn people before they buy it that the power level it gives out when holding it at the ear is extremely high for a mobile phone. Yes still in the legal safety limits, but if you are one who beleives in cancer risks caused by phone signals, then I would stay away from this phone. It gives out 1.18 W/Kg when holding it at the ear, the average for most handsets is 0.5 W/Kg. Comparatively the N97 gives out 0.6 W/Kg at the ear, despite being a lot more powerful. This shows that the 6120 is giving out far too much power than it should be, explaining why so many people have problems with the handset heating up and burning their ears. It's a shame as this phone looks really good, and I really wanted to buy it as it is great value for money, but I don't really want to risk using a phone that gives out twice the average amount of power, possibly causing twice the damage to my health. Reviewed by cool49er on 25/04/2009 This is the worst mobile phone that i have ever ued in my life. Let me run you through why: 1)Battery life is extremely bad, so not good for business or music lovers 2)The screen, after about 3/4 months, you start to notice the dust starting to creep in through the top speaker. This becomes very annoying so commiting to an 18month contract with this mobile was the worst decision ive made 3)After 6 months the feeble plastic navigation pad broke. A whole chunk of the keypad fell out So navigating to the left was incredibly annoying as i had to stick my fingernail through the keypad to navigate. So for the next 12 months there were no gaming apps open on my phone 4)The speaker provides a shockingly bad base and is often fuzzy 5)The software is very glitchy as this mobile was regarded as the test one for the Nseries S60 edition software 6)The onboard RAM is average..could do with more. E.g cant play music and use nokia maps at the same time 7)Calls are often dropped and do not connect all the time (on three..which is also shocking for service and quality generally) 8)The back cover is made of poor quality plastic which i have currently sellotaped to my battery so that it wont fall off. Tried using a plastic cover but when you use the key pad you are only able to use your fingernails which over a few months erode the plastic which then finally rips and renders useless 9)The mobile often overheats when using 3G which becomes annoying over time as your hand gets very hot and you start to wonder why the battery life is so poor. 3G is imperative on three. 10)Streaming quality is half decent but the speaker never compliments it well or the dusty screen. 11)Due to rudimentary software the mobile often blanks out often. 12)Every so often when the mobile feels like it, the T9 memory is wiped 13)Due to the shocking software, when you receive a text the mobile does not vibrate, or notify you by leaving a message symbol on the standby. The only way to resolve this was to HARD reset my mobile.(This entails wiping the mobile clean fully). Time consuming... Whereas this looks good on paper, i suggest you try this mobile out before buying it.If you like using apps, love your music, and expect to be able to send a text and make a call propperly DO NOT BUY THIS MOBILE. Reviewed by Hinch on 21/02/2009 Extremely poor experience with this phone. I received it free on an 18 month contract from T-Mobile who have kindly replaced the handset 4 times. The first handset worked for less than a month until the speaker broke and was rendered mute. The second phone froze the first time I switched it on and would repeatedly reset itself mid phonecall or even just picking it up to check a text message. The phone was sent back to T-mobile who updated the software. This one crashed when they turned it on in the shop to put my sim card back in. I received a second hand 6120 in replacement which I complained about and promptly I received another one. Unfortunately my requests for a different phone have not been fulfilled and so I have had to live with the self destructive mess that Nokia have made. I am near the end of my contract now and am strongly considering purchasing another phone due to continuing erratic behaviour. Over the last few weeks the phone has taken to adding email inboxes every time I check a message. I have over 200 now which has slowed the phone down immensely. Finding a way through the menus is irritating (they cannot be configured with the Nokia software) and each one takes just under 4 minutes to remove. The phone now just refuses to show my mailbox when I receive a message. T-mobile have always been helpful but I expect a service that works and it just doesn't. Rating:

Reviewed by CrazyArcher on 29/11/2008 It's a computing powerhouse hiding in a "dumb"-phone's package. The S60 system offers some nice features for people meaning business, like an awesome organizer and contact manager - I have hard time calling it just a phonebook. It's also prety decent on the fun department: its media player and camera do their job, even though they don't match ones found in more youth-oriented models. The display isn't an HD panel, but for a cellphone the picture quality is excellent. Pros: excellent sound quality, reception quality in the best Nokia traditions, blazingly fast data transmit rates for Web. Cons: battery life could be longer, gets hot when you talk for longen-than-average time, some people may not like the keyboard. Bottom line: a fine phone, offering superb performance in a small package for a relatively low price. Rating:
Reviewed by Jayashri on 29/11/2008 My dad had this phone for a while, and I guess I have to say I simply loved it! It had EVERYTHING that I needed [being a teen]. However, my rather tech-unsavvy dad found most of the features redundant. But a few of the things I liked most were: - The ability to take shots with the front camera - Light - Sleek design [although a fingerprint magnet] - Good sound quality - Big screen I definitely would recommend it. I would say that it's better than my W960, except for the lack of Wifi connectivity. Rating:
Reviewed by Michelle on 22/11/2008 I have had this phone for a year now and frankly will be glad to finally get rid of it soon for a number of reasons. Other reviewers are right - you cannot talk on this phone for more than a minute before the screen gets very hot and uncomfortable, so if you are thinking of using this phone for long calls then forget it unless you want a red hot ear! It might just be a problem with my phone but I the sound quality on calls is terrible. I can hardly hear what people are saying when they call - which means that for 12 months now my friends have had to shout at me down the phone and I have had to press the red hot screen even harder to my ear - nightmare! Also although the keys are easy to use the navigation button in the middle has a skinny hard edge which means that it kills your thumb if you text a lot. As previously mentioned the text size is very small and so if you have bad eyesight then its best avoided. In addition I never hear the thing ringing even though the volume is up high. As also mentioned the battery life is very, very poor. Especially as I don't use it for anything more than the odd call and mainly for texting. On the positive side it looks good and navigation is very simple to use. Rating:

Reviewed by Darren on 02/11/2008 I would highly recommend this phone if you are browsing the web as speeds are fast. It has all the general Nokia menu options and the themes to choose from are quite nice. The reception is great and it is faster moving through the menu than my previous N70. Some of the things I don't like are the keypad as the keys click as you use them. In fact this has made me change to another phone as it is annoying and it's a shame as other features on the phones are excellent. Another thing I have noticed that on a longer call you do get a burning sensation. My family has four of these phones and two out the the four simply stopped working for no reason. The phones did not ring and when answered you could hear the caller but they couldn't hear me. Overall, a great phone but anyone who texts alot may find the keypad annoying. Rating:

Reviewed by Elizabeth on 24/10/2008 Several problems with this phone. 1) Mine too goes completely blank and has to be rebooted. 2) Within 3 months of getting the phone it developed a fine line across the screen that shows up in all photos. Needless to say this is not covered by some warrantee. 3) (BIG PROBLEM) Unfortunately Nokia has not bothered to devise a program for allowing for daylight saving time for all Australian zones for this phone. Unlike many other Nokia phones there is no 'override' in the clock settings so that you can fix this problem yourself. I have been assure by Nokia that they are 'working on this problem', but several weeks on me (and the rest of Australia) are still waiting! Until they do write a program, the best you can do is change the time to an hour ahead manually, and then enter all calendar information manually. There is not point in changing the clock manually and then trying to synchronise with Outlook as all your appointments will still be an hour out. Rating:

Reviewed by John Williams on 20/10/2008 It was good to finally have a NextG replacement for the ZTE NextG models F151, F850, F252 which were problem phones for us. However, after buying approx 191 of the Nokia 6120c's, I find that they have common problems running at about 50% of our 6120c fleet (100 phones). - Some phones run extremely hot with minimal use. - Some have screens not turning back on causing the user to break the power button when trying to turn the phone back on (or is that off)? - Some have to have a factory reset done regularly to make the phone function again. - Some you can not hear the caller and vice versa - Some you can only hear the caller if you switch to load speaker. Factory reset does not help and Firmware is the latest. - Missed calls while full signal - Some have short battery life 2-4 hrs without being used. I am waiting for a new model Nokia NextG to come out as I do not want to buy any more of the 6120c's. I guess everyone brings out a lemon every now and then. IMPORTANT! Telstra and Nokia, to my knowledge from dealing with them, do not seem to be aware of these issues and do not repair the phones that get sent away. After 3 attempts to have the phone repaired. The phone then gets replaced with a phone that may have the same problem. Thank you John Rating:

Reviewed by Devi Prasad on 02/10/2008 Nokia 6300 & 6120Classic lost me to Samsung D780 Duoes (Dual-SIM) for the following reasons…!! ?? I’ve used Nokia 6300 for 14months but as there was a requirement to take an additional SIM, I’ve opted for an additional Nokia 6120Classic. As it was disgusting to manage two different sets together, I’ve switched to Samsung D780. Hope my experience can serve both as a comparison to those mentioned above and also as a review to the Samsung’s new D780 Duoes. In fact I’ve fallen in love with my Nokia 6300! It’s an amazing phone. It is so solid, slim strong and easy to use! It has never cared any small shocks and drops, which are pretty common for a hand held phone. Yet there’s a lot of room to develop this model further. The one and only annoying thing with this phone is, there is no running call-timer; which is an essential for international calls from a high tariff zone like Libya. When I bought Nokia 6120Classic, I’ve realized the most incredible experience of using Nokia’s Symbian interface. It’s simply superb; esp ecially the experience of browsing. It is a low-priced wonder with almost all latest applications running on it: PDF, MS Word™, excel™, PowerPoint™. It’s all fun to use such a multitask mobile. I found it so lovely to download e-buddy and run all my IMs together (Yahoo™, G’talk™, MSN™, etc) apart from using all the other features of a mobile. But when its outlook is not that great when compared with 6300! And also its glossy finishing is prone to scratcher within a month. When we come to Samsung D780, it’s a “ONE phone with TWO phone utility”. There’s no doubt it’s a wonder from Samsung and a shame to its rivals, as none of them come forward with a Duoes until a couple of years after Samsung has released a Dual-SIM model. To begin with its plus points: I find it so exciting to keep two digital clocks parallel running on its home-screen (Libya +2GMTS & India +5½GMTS)! ‘My-Menu’ is a new development in Samsung’s interface, much similar to that of the most impressing instant access in Nokia 6300’s ‘Active Standby Mode’ (however, it’s not comfortable in Nokia6300 when the date display goes off while the active standby is on). Samsung’s all new ‘DOOR’ menu transmission effect is tingling! Here we have again the most useful profile ‘Offline’ mode like ‘Flight’ mode in Nokia 6300. Samsung provides a useful ‘SIM card managemen t’ feature to select the activities of your two SIMs in a comfortable way you like. Its dual call logs are good and cozy to organise. Using calculator is easy and comfortable than Nokia. Unlike 6300 there are multiple alarms with snooze options and other futures including daily / weekly repetitions. Above all, its ‘Call Reject List’ in call-logs is a great deal. No more unwanted calls. No hassles of repeated missed-calls or blank-calls! You may also opt to block incoming messages from certain numbers from Menu/Messages/Settings/Text messages/Block numbers. Four different play lists are good but each list is limited to a maximum of 30 tracks. So U can have only 30×4=120 songs? But camera is a wonder; you can have pictures at night with full brightness! Samsung is offering a full security to your personal data at several layers. Apart from phone cock, you can assign password protection for Call logs, Phonebook, Messages, My files, Memory Card, Calendar, Tasks and Memos individually. When you look at a list of complaints: the most disgusting thing in it is –its screen goes off in 2 seconds you get connected to your dialed number! You cannot see the running call duration; moreover, there is no way to alter this back-light setting! I use to record my conversations with my mother –simply by assigning voice-recorder to one of the shortcuts of the joystick in my Nokia6300 but in Samsung, I can assign this voice-recorder to a joystick shortcut yet there is no way to record a call –pooooooor! Both the headphone quality and the audio output in it are good but the volume is significantly low. On its loud speaker you can hardly feel your music, if the set is a couple of meters away! As I’m used to the solid Nokia 6300 I feel the body of Samsung comparatively fragile! Its casing is easily prone to scratches, especially the back cover is so delicate –can it last a year? In particular I just wonder why these different mobile makers follow dissimilarity in the keypad functionality. It is just like your computer keyboard, the location and function of a particular key must not differ from brand to brand. For example, writing a text message is largely different between Nokia and Samsung! Comparatively text typing is poor in Samsung, like: its T9 functionality, spelling alternation, selecting back the PREVIOUS spelling alternative. Moreover, there are no winks in its SMS writing! After all, they are the fun of messaging and even the beauty on IMs like Yahoo Messenger™ too! Even adding the sender’s number is involved several keyings… boooooooring! Calendar entries can be still better; there are no different classifications in anniversaries like birthdays. Finally, Nokia 6300 + Duoes (Dual-SIM) + Simbian + a timer display for running-calls + 3.2MP Camera + 4GB internal and a 8GM external memory support + dual clock display with date + active standby + low-price = can be a DREAM PHONE in Nokia 63** series! Let’s wait? Wish Nokia would come up and retain its loyal customers! m_deviprasd@yahoo.com Rating:

Reviewed by Adam - Ecuador on 25/09/2008 A very nice phone. I don't know how much abuse other reviewers have been giving their handsets but the paint and finish on mine is still like new after four months of being carried with coins and keys in my pocket. The OS is a little bit slow but this improved with Nokia's latest update. Screen is really nice with very clear text and I can see it in the strong sunlight here. Sound quality is great and I picked up a good signal in the Galapagos Islands - 60km from the nearest transmitter. It appears that most of the bad reviews here reflect on 3's service rather than the phone and seemingly by folks who would like to have there phone surgically attached. My only quibble with this phone is the battery life - I'm charging up roughly every two days just by checking email. Rating:
