Reviewed by Cosmic, Italy on 05/09/2008 Phone is very good: it has QuickOffice suite and PDF reader, swift H3G connectivity and the like. Battery life is very UGLY, cover and keys are now blocked (that is, I must press desperately to dial). Very good connectivity and H3G signal, as audio quality. Taken from 3 Italy (24 months contract), I've replaced it with a K660i Sony Ericsson. Rating:

Reviewed by Siobhan on 31/08/2008 Forget buying this phone, and don't go with the 3 network as their customer service is awful. The reason for me disliking this phone is that I am unfortunately on my 3rd nokia 6120 since taking out a contract in March 2008 and the 3 network are refusing to give me a different make and model without charging me a reduced rate! The fault that I have had with all off my replacements is that it does not allow me 2 here who is calling me and vice versa. I have been taking out contracts for 8 years and have always gone with same make 'nokia' and have never had a single problem with any of my 5 phones I have had. This model is the worst ever. Reviewed by Jeek on 29/08/2008 I don't know if I have the same experience as others but mine's screen tends to go blank, and I've had to remove the battery, put it back and turn on my phone again. Other than that, I'm happy with my phone. My 3-star rating is only because of the problem mentioned above, and perhaps also because photos tend to be quite grainy. Rating:

Reviewed by Anne on 21/08/2008 I've had this phone for 8 months and it's the worst Nokia I've ever had. The key's are incredibly fiddly - it's very easy to hit the cancel key by mistake!, the menus are overly hierarchical, the autotext spelling is full of mistakes - always write 'yot' instead of 'you' - the sound quality is poor when it works at all - keep having to switch my phone on and off to get the sound back. And yes it does heat up loads and has a very short battery life. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone. Rating:
Reviewed by Vic on 18/08/2008 I bought four phones for my staff. In the first three months, 3 of the 4 phones sustained broken screens. I think that the phones are functionally excellent in a nice sized package. The 6120 phones are too fragile however. Rating:
Reviewed by Debs on 16/08/2008 I have always been partial to Nokia phones. This one is the best yet. Easy to use, classy looking, camera adequate, radio unbelievable. Haven't yet cracked the memory for storing music but working on it. It even took a tumble (with me) the second day I had it and not a scratch or mark on it! Keys still a bit stiff but I don't use the phone all the time! Phone does get warm when using but not a big problem. Well worth the money £79. Rating:
Reviewed by Vinh-Vietnam on 12/08/2008 If someone asks you a phone number of another friend, it is very hard to send a contact's number. You have to open contact, copy number to clipboard, create new message, paste number into message and send. we cannot rely to "send business card", It cannot be read on all phones. There is no "insert contacts/insert number" options during composing message. Suppose a contact has lot of numbers (fax, phone, mobile),it is such stupid design of S60. YOu have copy/paste and switch between message/contacts many times. Rating:

Reviewed by Erick on 04/08/2008 The Nokia 6120 Classic is the smartphone many people could ever need in 2008/2009. It is driven by the same ultra fast processor, ARM 369 MHZ, and the excellent Symbian S60 operating system as the high end N Series devices. Except for accessing WLAN and being a-GPS enabled, along with having a high end camera mobule on-board, it is at the cutting edge of mobile technology. What makes this a phenomenal purchase is the sheer amount of technology for the price paid. It is along with the 6220 Classic, one of the most compact smartphones in the world. Strongly recommended. I loved it. had a few problems with the screen breaking and a few buttons falling off the front of it. after having got these fixed, however, the volume button broke which was annoying. The back kept sliding off until i resorted to holdingit in place with sellotape. I however, would have the same phone again every single time now. Reviewed by Pete on 18/07/2008 I love Nokias usually, but the 6120 O/S is really slow, buggy and doesn't allow many simple features that older Nokias had. The "upgrade" from my old 6230 to this was horrible, it is a very unfriendly phone. THERE ARE NO TIMED PROFILES! This is the biggest annoyance, as it is too easy to switch your phone to "silent" then forget it, and find 6 missed calls when you next look at the phone. Old Nokias allowed you to set profiles for any period up to 24 hours. The text messaging is very unintuitive, and it immediately defaults to the number of the recipient, not the message itself, so you always end up typing garbage in the "to" field, then the recipient search is convoluted. Also when you search the phonebook to a letter (example "R" for Robert), when you go "back" it takes you right back to "A", and doesn't leave you there to explore R-Z, this is a total pain in the ass when you have a big phonebook and need to find entries quickly. The battery life is poor (1-2 days max) and the earpiece gets VERY hot sometimes, this is presumably where all the battery energy is going - straight into radiated heat. This is a known issue on many 6120s. Last problem, the lanyard pin breaks really easily, I have snapped 3 of them so far due to the stupid single hole design (earlier 2 hole lanyard points were 10000x stronger) It is a lovely phone, but you need to be patient with it, and modify your usage to work with the yukky S60 interface. Reviewed by Neeeahee on 29/06/2008 When the active standby is off, you can't have the 'go to' shortcut on the main screen. I don't understand, every nokia phone has this except this one??? It's a fairly important command that I'm sure a lot of people will miss. Also the battery life is close to pathetic, with average usage I'm getting 1 day!!!! 1 day, come on. Another problem I have is the lack of options for contacts, there is only one option for last name, first name etc.. you cant change the list view so that you see the number for each contact, when searching through your contacts, for example you type 'm' it lists off both first and last names beginning with 'm' - whats that all about? Reviewed by Ernie on 19/06/2008 I've had my phone for 6 months now and am still discovering new features! I too use an external GPS receiver and am using TomTom software and it works like a dream. I've updated the firmware to v4.21 and had no problems. Having the Symbian OS in such a small gadget is the closest thing to having a real computer in your pocket. The organizer syncs my calendar perfectly and the music player is good and loud. I've got a 4Gb card in which solves all memory issues. Some people are complaining about the lack of Wi-Fi but all the new price plans seem to be unmetered now, so with the most basic data contract your internet access will only work out a little more expensive, and it's far more reliable. All my e-mails (on 4 different addresses) can be accessed via POP or IMAP - and I've never had a problem with it heating up. The desktop menu is customisable so you have your favourite 9 or 10 functions instantly accessible. I'm frankly amazed at all these negative reviews and t hink that you should really explore your phone thoroughly before dismissing it! Rating:

Reviewed by Hobbo on 16/06/2008 Quite a good phone with good features, however has some major issues and I have had mine replaced 3 times (not to mention returned for repairs 3-times each, 12 times in total) in less than 6-months. The is a fault somewhere in the software that stops you from opening the menu, seems to be an itermitent problem, and doesn't happen with all 6120's but has with all mine thus far. When you press the menu key the screen refreshes like it's going to show the menu and does nothing, can still use the phone but to access the menu again you must reboot the phone. The other issues I have had is everytime I have upgraded the firmware released by Nokia to v4.21 the battery life goes from 4-5days on stand-by to about 8-10hrs...DON'T UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE !! Hopefully I'll get one that works before the end of the contract ha-ha. Rating:

Reviewed by PO on 29/05/2008 This is the worst phone I ever had. Since I bought it half a year ago, I've been going back to Nokia service center for THREE times and going to be FOURTH!! First I went because I can't charge the phone, eventhough I tried it again and again, it just doesn't work. The second time I had to went there again because after 10 minutes of charging, it just stopped. The third time was because the media player was hanged, no matter how I restarted the phone, it just didn't open whenever I clicked on it. Now I have to go back again for the charging problem. It's a DAMN phone. Don't tell I didn't warn you guys, avoid this phone like a plague!! With this kind of quality I really hope NOKIA will die soon. Long live SAMSUNG and other brands!! Rating:

Reviewed by Jon A on 26/05/2008 I 'upgraded' to this phone because my previous Nokia 6233 phone only had space for 500 contacts. Otherwise - it was great. The nokia 6120 has a good hardware spec but seems to be missing chunks of programming. Anyone that uses the calender will know what I mean. The diary is missing 4 items off the menu - Then the most important function - 'new entry call ' - this used to allow you to insert a phone number - so the calender could remind you to make a phonecall. This essential function is missing on the 6120. Pretty annoying - I expected this 'upgrade' to be better than the older 6233. Instead it's worse - much worse. Also the older 6233 had another similar useful function 'new entrymeetingoptionssearch select a contact ' really handy - this saved typing someones name in - just look for it in your contacts and insert it. Unfortunately this function also is missing. Other annoying things include: - cheap low quality buttons - can't set the function buttons to shortcut to 'missed calls' or 'receieved calls' - keypad lock button isn't the centre select button + hence awkward to use. - when messaging the 'c' button is too narrow in short it is 'ergonomically awkward'. I would not give this phone 4 stars and can't wait to get shut of it. Don't want to be too negative though. It has lots of hardware functionality including blue tooth stereo - although you need the phone close to your ear for the bluetooth to work properly + also has lots of internet functionality - for mad people who prefer to browse the web on a minature screen. If you like the familiar logical nokia functionality and want a phone with a diary and texting - then get a 6500 or 6300. This 6120 phone is cheaply made and badly programmed. Rating:
Reviewed by Emmanuel on 22/05/2008 I have used this phone for few months now. It started heating up after about a minute use. I have called to send it in and I was to0ld this is the normal way this phone behaves. I am changing mine immediately as this may not be good for one's health. The heat is unbearable after a minute of use as it gets warming up gradually. Rating:
Reviewed by djp on 20/05/2008 Although as you say, for such a small phone it has many functions. However, the keypad requires you lean on the buttons for them to register. Whats more there are many texting features from the 6300 not present here, such as Insert contact/number. There is no possibilty to text groups and the insert recipient way of addressing your texts is very cumbersome. There is a 'dock' at the top of the screen for shortcuts to supposed favourite applications, except they are fixed there and you have no option to personalise them. Many a time I have had to press and repress the navigation key for it to respond. Altogether I think for all the things inside this phone, the outside of it has a very cheap plasticky feel and for all its memory is slow to use as a result. Im going back to my 6300, all the silver's fallen off this one after 3 months so it looks like hell too! Rating:
Reviewed by Alfred on 19/05/2008 This is my fifth cellphone. Never thought before, that the 5th would be Nokia. I used to have 2 Philips, 1 Samsung, and 1 Nokia (well, this is my Second Nokia). When I bought it yesterday, I got confused. Well, my other option was the 6500 Classic, which is so beautiful but no expandable memory, which I found very troublesome. Well, my friend gave me the pros and cons of every models: Expandable Memory Card, which is very important; OS Symbian, which is somehow important; And the worst fault that we found is 6500 Classic can be recharged through your computer USB, which is quite scarry. I am a person who believes that charging through USB would be annoying and dangerous, because you need to plug the mini USB with the USB all the time. So then, the battery life would be significantly decreased. Overall, I feel satisified having this phone. It's slim, easy to use (thanks to Symbian), and most importantly in Indonesia, it's not to expensive (Rp 2,025 million); well, although the camera and music player is not so impressive. Rating:
Reviewed by gus on 18/05/2008 I agree about low battery life but worse than this is the fact that for any calls over 2 minutes, the phone heats up to an unaccepable level. It really is very uncomfortable against your ear. Apparently when I questioned my service provider about it they said it was a "known fault and within acceptable levels". Well it wasn't known or acceptable to me when I bought it. Shame because it had some great features but I had to get mine changed for a different model because it was only useful as a handwarmer in winter. Rating:
Reviewed by Steve on 15/05/2008 I've had this phone for several months now and it's performing very well. The handset does get warm when making long calls, but it's not really a problem. I've got no idea why people find it uncomfortable whilst making calls, it's just the same as using any bar-style phone. The display is very clear, 3.5G is excellent and Symbian apps are very useful. I use the phone with Nokia maps and a bluetooth GPS receiver for in-car sat nav, which works very well. The camera is good and battery life is reasonable (normally 3-5 days between charges). The only issue I have had was dust in the display after four months. This just required the front clipping-off and cleaning with a lint-free cloth. No problem really. Over-all I'm very happy with the phone and would recommend it. Rating:

My daughter has the N95 and apart from WLAN there is nothing on that phone that beats the 6120, if I want a camera for real pictures a 5Mp camera with a tiny chip isnt what I want ! Even better now Nokia realise Macs exist and I can sync with iCal (tiny bit of recoding in an isync plug in - check the apple isync or Nokia forums) and media with the multimedia transfer software. Reviewed by 666 on 10/09/2007 - The good: Excellent display Faster than most other S60 phones Talk time: Nokia says 3h, in real life it's close to 4h. Nokia says it supports SD cards up to 2 GB. In real life, it also works with 4 GB cards. - The bad: Can't charge over USB port SD card cover requires long fingernails The black plastic is a fingerprint magnet The processor gets warm - The ugly: The camera takes blurry pictures and is useless indoors and at night. You need to install cCam to take pictures without the annoying shutter sound. cCam: www.symbian-freeware.com/download-ccam.html Rating:
