Rating: Reviewed by Smelliot on 20/06/2008 this phone is great. all the features rock, especially the music player and the radio. the fingerprint thing on the buttons is slightly obvious but it doesn't change the fact that this phone rocks. it comes with 1gb memory which is perfect for when you just get the phone. the cameras great for a phone but not perfect. the series 40 3rd edition software makes this phone great coz with nokia, you have to get the right phone or else it is rubbish but this phone is the best phone i've ever had. it's perect and whatever anyone says, this phone has no problems at all. BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rating: Reviewed by ken on 20/06/2008 As a whole, this is a good all rounder mobile even though it does not excel in any departments. While the camera could not compete with 5MP Sony W850i, it does take light light pictures pretty well. Music player is really easy to sue , not to mention roughly 18 hrs of continuous playing and the superb sound quality. If you are the frequent traveller like me, you will appreciate the battery life of this phone. It is definitely better than Nokia N series mobiles. I can listen to 18 hrs of music th'out the whole journey with ease. Oh, have i mentioned the buttons are easy to use with my big fingers. I personally tend to keep phones for a year or more, I treat them with care, yet this phone just let me down. Its personalising options are limited, the slider mechanism which allows quick and easy access to the music player and fm radio cracked after three months and then completely snapped off, making the phone unusable. In comparison to my last phone the Samsung E900, it didn't even compare. I would happily trade my Nokia 5610 for the Samsung E900. Moving onwards and upwards, the Samsung Soul on the other hand, is a complete success in everyway. Rating: Reviewed by Eric Daza on 17/06/2008 Pros: Audio quality and loudness is above average compared to other phones within the price range similar to this one. 1.Nice Graphical effect especially if you have some Flash Lite files (Flash Light = it's sort of Flash/swf on Webpages). 2. Video playing is Great almost DVD quality. Camera is nice 3.2M pixel with powerful flash. 3. The internet access is quite fast(GPRS). 4. The slider is Great, but I hope it had more functionality than it's design for(RADIO-MENU-PLAYER). 5. it's great when you have an amplifier and speaker system with 2.5mm input connectors. (or a Good computer Speaker will do) 6. Battery Life is good. 6. The Calculator looks nice :) hehehe... Cons: 1. Primary Down fall: "Stupidly" designed battery fitting. - I hate this part. It's mostly the cause of the fone hang. Practical Solution: put an extra tape or sticker on the battery to secure it. This is the killer on this model, other cons are minor. 2. Speaker is muffled coz it's at the back, you would need a fone stand of some sort when used as a music player on your room, Flipping it over might scratch the screen. 3. For a music fone I Can't seem to hear the difference on the preloaded Equalizer settings. (might need to buy a better earphones than the one found on the box) 4. The two piece 2.5mm and 3.5mm Jack is quite uneasy to use on travel. 5. The volume buttons is not really that easy to press. Verdict: 4/5 to 4.5/5 It's a great Fone for it's Price - Features. Listening to music by this phone is simply a pleasure, the sound is clear and unbelievable. The photo's quality is great too, maybe because I'm not so demanding! :D I think, this phone, or any phones, is good or not depending on how you use and keep it. Rating: Reviewed by Shelley on 11/06/2008 I got this phone about a month ago and it has some great functions plus the music quality is fantastic. Although it has broken twice in the last two months. I think both times it's been a problem with the battery as it seems to come loose and fails to turn on without prior warning, or just turns itself off, during use, and ceases to go beyond the power-on screen. The software to upload music to it is also not the easiest to use in my exprience and it wouldn't let me convert any of my podcasts which was a big disapointment. It handles very well, it feels great in my hand, the buttons are comfortable, the response is swift. Voice and sound quality are top notch. But as a music player.. well..The sound quality are at least comparable to any SE walkman phone, and combining it with my Sennheiser PX200 just make it even better. I used to own the 5300, and loved it very much. The dedicated music buttons are very easy to use. I can operate most of the music function without looking at the screen of the phone, while the phone was tucked inside the pocket of my jacket. You can even skip music, change the volume of the music while writing an sms, or as a matter of fact, on any screen. Try doing that with the 5610. To skip music, you have "slide" to the music player interface, skip the song, and "slide" back. Did the slide button return you to the previous screen? Nope, it sends you to the active standby screen, you need to navigate your way back to the previous screen. Try skipping music while opening a java application. On 5300, all you have to is to tap one single button. on 5610, sliding to the music interface will automatically close the application. Not funny. And to top my complaints. The slider is made of a very flimsy plastic material. Mine cracked a little after 3 months of minimal usage (as i rarely use the music interface). Before it broke off completely, I sold the phone and purchased the E51 instead. It's really a hassle. Believe me guys, if your a bluetooth adict and sharing is your 1st priority. Nokia Pc Suite really stuck on your pc. You can't uninstall it.But if you want to risk it, then go ahead buy this phone. If you want 3G and a music player go on a SE, if you want 3G with good camera get a 6500slide. if you want 3G with symbianOS go on 6120. I change 5610 to 6120c since i want 3.5G, music player don't need since there nokia can't beat an ipod. Camera? Just buy A digicam and your on the go. This phone semed great but started to have scren freezes and has now got total screen problems. It has been returned to be repaired but i am not optimistic!!! I liked 5610 but I didn't choose it after listening to some users' experience with sliding phones. The slider will become loosen and soon the phone will not lock in position after you push it up. I heard and read about the phone hanging while playing music and the phone ring. I tested out at a vendor and it hung on me while playing music and a call came in. The vendor said it was due to the software and it would work fine after sending it back to service center to upgrade the software. My conclusion is "Why buy a phone with broken software and need to send a brand new phone back to service center?" So, I decided on 6300 after all I prefer classic candy bar phone to sliding phone.
