I have had this phone for a year and a half and its amazing. i have dropped it several times and still no faults. It does have some memory but you might need to buy a SD card aswell if your a music and pic fanatic! Overall this phone is amazing, easy to text, cool aps, ok ish camera, and really good speaker! :) I totally reccomend it

I got a used one. it was without headphone. When i got a separate headphone then it didn't play. I gave it back and got another one. this time i was wise enough to check the headphone at the shop. It worked well for 2 days and then it also got deaf through headphone. Bad luck. But I am going to keep it for its light weight. All those who are going to buy this make sure that the headphone is working.

The phone is very decent, perhaps for the first year but then some problems occur. It becomes hard to navigate and you can hardly hear the person on the other end of the phone. Overall, the phone is very good and I do recommend it. Oh and the game Citybloxx is one of the most addictive games i have ever played on a phone!

this is my 2nd nokia 5310 mobile phone as 1st one was stolen, i cant seem to change my ringtone to the music ive downloaded from my pc but when i try to change the ringtone it says activation key not allowed..been to 4 mobile shops and everyone is clueless...

Very nice slim phone. Nice built quality, with good quality plastic. No fingerprint magnet. It has the S40 UI which is very user friendly. Putting music on the phone is very easy and the control buttons on the side make it an ease to navigate. Downside is the headphones without remote control (like the N95) I think this phone does very well at playing music, making phone calls and sms. If you're looking for a internet phone look for something else. For the basics it very well indeed!!

I used to have this phone but it had a battery problem and it wouldn't charge. My friend had the same phone and the same thing happened she couldn't charge it either so I don't think its a good phone!

I've had this phone for 18 months and am about to get a new one, purely because of the contract. I've never had a single problem with it, it took a while to get used to as it is so thin, and light. But that's definately not a bad thing! I have the red and black edition, and I think the design is fantastic. I love the back cover to the phone, I think it's very cute. Also the music buttons are very handy, though they have got a little stuck after so much use, but that's to be expected with anything used to often. I haven't had any problems with freezing, cutting out etc. The sound quality is not to be faulted, slightly tinny at worst. Overall, a great phone. 5/5

Great phone, cool looks, quality performance. I have owned this phone for six months and can't really fault it. Great sounds, fm radio, memory expandable to 8GB, loads of music! Good reception, battery average, easy to operate buttons and functions. Loaded with features for the price and of course Nokia quality and familiarity.

In July 2009, I purchased a xpressmusic 5310. I have only had the phone for almost 6 months now and the mp3 player music buttons on the top are starting to break. I am really disappointed because this was supposed to be a super good phone but its falling apart. I am going to discontinue use of the xpressmusic 5310

I found the speaker volume great, nice and loud, and once I could actually figure out how to bluetooth the music onto the phone it was very easy. Although time consuming. I find the picture quality decent. Nokia phones are very easy to personalize how you like which is nice. The battery lasts a decent amount of time, but when the battery is done you barely get ANY warning and BAM I have a dead phone and I'm no where near my charger. =( I would NOT wish this phone on anyone however because EVERY TIME i try to delete my text messages it deletes about 40 of them then freezes and I need to take the battery out, then turn it back on, then it shuts itself off, then I take the battery out again and I repeat that for about 3-6 times until the phone stays on. So I now have about 2500 texts on my phone because I can't delete them unless I want to do it one by one or go thru the ordeal of taking out the battery. Customer Service couldn't help me. They told me to send it in. I have had it a month.....I should NOT need to send it in. I have had this problem before with a NOKIA, they used to be good until they tried to go MP3.....I think this was NOKIA's LAST CHANCE. I'M DONE. =( Sorry Nokia

as a nokia adict I had this phone last year for christmas (2008) and i absolutly loved it, the phone was everything i was looking for a nice sounding quality music (not the best but i liked it) and the carmera wasn't that bad either, the features on the phone impressed me too, the only downfall was that 6 months (which is not that long) into having the phone it wouldnt accept any calls any more, it wouldn't let me phone people but it would let me send txts,only none of my friends got them. which is pretty bad there was nothing that i did to it i checked all the settings to see if i turned the callings off but everything was fine it just packed up, the store said, the music buttons on the side also got stuck down so they don't work anymore but its not really a big deal anyway for me. my mate also had the same problem she had the phone for about six months but it wont recive calls or txts anymore, but her keys on the side still worked. I still use the phone but only for a mini mp3 the memory is billiant can't go wrong ive got about a 1,000 songs on there and its still going, no crashes or defolts(not including the no call thing and the buttons) it is a good phone and i will advise it to anyone somewhere between the age 12-20 because i think mine was just a defult. as i said i am a nokia adict and this phone didnt disopoint me for the six months and even now im happy but i was a bit upset when it packed in now im getting the Nokia 5530 Xpress Music phone lol you would think i would have learned my lesson :D

i bought this phone 11 months back . this phone has horrible battery life ( all slim phones have that prob ) horrible camera and video.... but damn sexy looks and good music, will fail you by sometimes hanging and when u need it the most ... this is for guys in india ... the nokia people dont give u phones as good as in the international market ). so avcoid this slim phone

Purchased this phone at �169 1year ago as birthday present for sister. Nothing but problems. Back for repair 3 times and they still won't issue replacement. Guess I'm just unlucky but customer service as well as phone is appalling!

Thought I`d treat myself to a new phone, did my research or so I thought, no problems for the first 16 months, I loved it after all nokia phones are idiot proof,(well if i can use it anyone can)it started freezing now and again but it now freeze`s all the time you can take out the battery and it used to restart but now its in phone heaven,because it wont start at all. :( I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE, this must be a manufacturing fault as i have read this is a common fault, and no its not been dropped or got wet! I cant afford to be paying out for a new phone every year or so, im soooo annoyed Im going to write to nokia and see if i can some satifactory explination and compensation after all it cost me �139 and if i`d waited a few months later, I could have bought it for �80 and I would not be soooo mad!!!

I have had this phone for under 6 months after 3 months i was on my sencond one because i could not recieve messages & my phone was frezzing up!! Yes it has nice features & this like that but over all it is crap!!! I am now on my second one & i am having to get it repaired after 4 weeks of having it! i advise you NOT TO GET ONE they may look nice but looks dont matter it is what is on the inside that counts!! save your money & get a phone that works excellently!

I have had a Nokia 5310 for 11 months I have had to replace the facia 3 times due to the construction of the metal components for the music player falling off due to small pieces of double sided tape trying to hold them on, therefore I would say a good product shame about the metal parts not being bonded to the phone Today I replaced the phone with the superior in construction Nokia 5220

Oh my good god. I hate these things. The camera is NOT 2 mp. About VGA to be honest. When you get lots of music on your phone, it deletes half of the track! and without the handset, the sound is tinny. I struggeled to get the texts off predictive, and it took me 5 mins to text a sentence. If I have locked my keypad when using the phone and receives a message or a missed call and tries to retrieve it the phone locked up! There was a stage when I had to send it to Carphone warehouse to get it fixed! Avoid in my opinion. I love Nokia's I was playing my dads N95 and a 5800 in a store, but don't buy this 5310! You have been warned.

This phone only gave me constant headaches because I like its features. The image quality is outstanding, (Im not talking about the camera). It can have a lot of music, images, videos. You can customize menus, it has guitar hero, cool color. I'm sad because this phone spoiled me into this things, but it has MAJOR PROBLEMS. 1. It overheats A LOT and then it freezes. It can happen while your talking or texting or even when you are not even close to it. You keep the phone on your bag and then you look at it, you dont know how many hourse has been turned off. Ohh and you cant just turn it on and voila, no. You have to take out the battery, wait for a couple of minutes and then put it again in order for it to turn on. 2. Sometimes it doesn't send nor receives texts messages. For texters like me, this is a downer. 3. The battery life is rubbish. Buyer BEWARE

Have had this mobile for 9 months and I have found a few faults; ~ easy to scratch/break ~ crashes/freezes alot ~ weak vibrating alerts ~ bad video camera But! Apart from that this mobile is brilliant! The music player is excellent, the battery life is ample, the camera is good, it looks very stylish and is easy to hold, the buttons are strong, the display is crystal clear and the head phone jack is 3.5mm. A real bargain mobile for music lovers. I am now upgrading to a Nokia 5800 but I have no doubts in saying that I reccomend this mobile :).

I've had this phone for almost 3 yrs now. I bought it when it came out. With my experience, this is the best nokia I've used so far. All of you who are complaining about sound quality...(whether its low or very loud for your liking) try updating the firmware. It only takes about 5 minutes max to download and install it. The video is great for such a tiny phone, nearly HD quality, very sharp and crisp picture. The music is really nice, when you couple the phone with phillips earphone you will never want to listen to anything else but this phone. Once you upgrade the firmware you get new apps, the sound and video quality shoots up...this is a great phone. I've droped it countless numbers of time and its still okay, those of you who managed to break it either jumped on it, drove over it, or bought the fake pirated ones which are all over the markets. Buy from certified nokia dealers!! This phone is sturdy and a little heavy for its size, if you got one thats really light its fake. If you like the s40 os buy this phone. I RECOMMEND IT!

Well,ive had it ooh 2 month 3 now.And its music keys have fell off,it corrupted ALL the data i wanted to keep on the memory card.I saved some then my mates LG formatted it >:( Fairly good phone apart from Camera taking blurry pictures if you have even slightly shaky hands,the video is shockingly bad.Apart from that its good.and my mums flashes after calls for some reason,as if its ringing but not on vibrate

I have had this phone since March and i have had no problems with it what so ever! I bought it after the LG Cookie (which is rubbish!) Its a brilliant all rounder, and people who say they cant get their sim card in, try taking the battery out first, it helps... The only thing i will say is that it doesnt let me transfer songs and pictures from my phone memory to my memory card, i dont know why... but other then that... brill fone, thhis will b my third, my first went in the sea in Turkey so that was ruined then my 2nd one i had a while then gave it to my brother, i have had no trouble from any of them, its a gorgeous phone to look at and its lovely and slim :) best nokia ive had.

It freezes a lot, which is really annoying. Sometimes when I'm listening to a song it just randomly turns itself off and on again. My friend also has this phone and it does the same thing.Although, the battery life is pretty good, it lasted me for about 4 days, and i was using it a lot. But if you're thinking about using it for music, like i was, then that's not really a good idea.

Love this phone! However, the outside music controls are very easy to accidentally press (fumbling in bag for lost homework + suddenly loud music in a silent classroom = bye bye phone), the music quality is OK (stressing the O and the K). DO NOT BUY WITH COMES WITH MUSIC! I did, and after a month I had to exchange the phone because i could not activate my account. About the volume - it's too loud for me! It had a medium level for it's lowest, and have got many a headache from listening on the lowest setting. So just go buy a 2gb MP3 player - that's all the phone is, apart from the fact that it's, er, a phone...

I've had this phone since November 2008 and had nothing but trouble with it, the software stability is below average and the battery life is indeed very very bad. I took the phone back to the store where they reinstalled the software. Getting it back 2 weeks later, all was fine... for about 2 months. After taking it back to the store 2 times I gave up. Apart from all of the that: the visibility of the screen is marvelous, under any condition, really very very good! Great keyboard, wonderful features. Good camera (pictures even good enough for printing), great sound. Very lightweight. This phone would have been the best phone ever for me, if it wouldn't have been for the battery and the constant problems with the backlight and software (flickering, going blank, freezing, phone restarting). Sadly, the store manager said it was a common problem with this model.

I got my phone two years ago and it's lasted me well! It's still in pretty good condition apart from a couple of scracthes, but that can be expected. It's music storage and playing is still as good as ever. It's the best phone is have ever had. I got mine in pink and black by the way, and it looks awesome! XD xxx

Dreadful, I am on my 4th, yes 4th one since I bought it in March 08. The screen kept freezing and nothing would resolve it even taking out the battery and putting it back in, the second one broke in that it wouldn't let me switch the thing on, the 3rd one was the same that I had to take back when I was 39 weeks pregnant, not an ideal time to be without one's mobile, decent enough customer service from Vodafone every time but really not good enough in terms of the phone. I hate it. Hence why I'm just cutting my losses and taking out a contract for something else.

I bought this phone in Trinidad from digicel. I bought it postpaid. It really lives up to its name... a phone worth your money. But I have (had) one problem with it - whenever i put music in the music folder on the memory card and it plays - the song stops, the whole screen turns white and it automatically restarts with the nokia hands startup. I remedied the situation by creating a folder on the memory card called Audio and placed all of my songs. They played continually without stopping and restarting.. a lot of the reviews i've read people complained about this 'hanging' and 'restarting' feature.I would like them to know that there is hope and to create this Audio folder on the memory card and see how it works. Thanks very much for allowing me this opportunity to write.

This phone is thin, and therein lies the problem. The frame is so lightweight that the phone can flex with the minimum of pressure and then the screen cracks. I have repaired my phone screen three times now, thinking it was me doing it. If you kept this phone in a glass case and never did anything like carry it, ie imobile, then it is a fine phone. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

The phone is great, but i certainly wouldn't advise you to get the comes with music deal... it is absolutely terrible. All the songs you buy suddenly decide to fall out of your lisencing rights and trust me when i say you don't want to call the nokia helpdesk, i sat there for 2 hours and didn't get through to anyone. Also, the tracks aren't useful anyway. They can only play on ur phone and pc, you have to actually buy them to put them on cd's. But the phone is nice and thin, and is reliable. Only one problem, and that is when you turn your phone off you have to reload all of your tracks again, which in my case takes around 50 mins :/

Don't buy it! i was in love with this phone at the begining even though maximum volume was not very loud and it freezed very often but i still loved it..until..... 7 months later, i button fell off, i thought i pressed 2 hard on the buttons but ...2 days after 2 more buttons fell off, then all the music keys fell completely off and to top everything the switch on/off button fell and could not find it and if it ever switched off i could never switch it back, which is what happened..went to vodafone for repair, they said they don;t have the off/on button so i sold it to mazumamobile.com my friend got the same fone 3 months after me and now the music keys fell completely..so its a pattern..:) don't buy it.

ive had this phone since christmas nd its rubishhh!!!!!! at the start it kep frezzing i couldn't do anything on it so i sent it bak and got a new one which was much better but the phone still doesn't take very good photo's or wen some one's calling you it doesn't come up with a name so you won't know who is calling and the same thing happens with a missed call i can never find out who called me!!

A very nice tidy phone looks great and music quality is brilliant for this price range. Battery life is quite poor but its not a huge worry. Also be careful of the side panels where the music buttons are. These are flimsy and break off easily as I have found out. But overall a good quality product from Nokia

I only had this phone temporarily but i absoloutely loved this mobile! I had never had a Nokia mobile before but i can honestly say this phone was awesome. The only bad point i can think of is when my mum and me brought it from O2 i didn't get a battery...lol. But once i got the battery and switched on the phone i thought it was great. The camera, even though only 2 megapixels, was amazingly clear. The music player's sound was crystal clear and the phone is altogether easy to use. The games are also very fun and addictive to play The phone was small and thin and had a nice black and red design. After having this phone, even for a short time, i think i would buy another Nokia! :)

hi i bought this phone at Christmas and on this day the phone crashed it crashes an awful lot and freezes takes a long time to turn on then crashes so you have to turn the phone back on and wait up to 20 mins for it to work properly really loud music tho and good memory also the phones very fragile and my case fell off after 2 weeks had to sellotape it together the charger breaks very easy and battery life is naff i would not recommend anyone buys this phone really disappointing for a nokia!!!!

its great, it has purple sides and can fit into any pocket.Good battery life,easy to use, very good with music, but it has a problem though. its hard to see in sun sometimes and it dosnt have a flash so you have to be in good light for a picture or video,but it dosnt break easily like most phones,loud for calls and alarms, great looks. I recomend this phone.

Light, slim and very practical. The menu is easy to navigate and browse for tracks. The sound quality is excellent, even when compared to an iptouch the 5310 is the better piece of kit. The speaker is better than the samsung toco (so is the sound quality) The sound levels are good, some people must work in loud environments or need an air horn! The camera delay is annoying but liveable (just). For the money a sweet choice!

This ia a really great music phone with a large screen and good music player, which can play iTunes (.m4a) tracks. Picture and video quality could be better and the loudspeaker is quite tinny but still very good. One word of warning - every time you turn off the phone, or remove the memory card, the phone has to re-update the music player which can take AGES if you have lots of music stored.

I agree with lotty. I've had the phone with 2months, i've accidently dropped the phone and it completely detatched, Heres a tip, DONT BUY THIS LAME ASS PHONE!, It freezes, you loose the memory card easily even when its INSIDE this phone, it gets no service every now and again in outdoor air, which i can assure is NOT my server company, as i've used the same SIM card on another phone and its been fine. Not worth the �80..

Its a rubbish phone. From the start I have had problems with the phone cutting out. It will just stop working and Wont allow you to text or phone people for at least half an hour after it switches it self off. I have had it 'repaired' on a number of occasions and no one has fixed it. I am soon due a contract change and wont be buying another nokia!!!

I hate this. It's a ladies' phone, not for guys with large fingers. I always drop it and mistype everything, its got very small buttons. Its signal strength is very poor even compared to other Nokia phones, you can't even hold it in your hand firmly, because it disrupts the signal. I bought it because my local reseller practically gave it to me for free because of the orange thank you points and stuff, but i greatly regret it, it has caused me a lot of bad moments with occasional random restarts and freezes.

Absolute rubbish. No reception. Phone has fallen apart and I am not hard on my phones, i.e. no scratches on face but other parts have fallen off and I've only had it a year. Both of the red bits have fallen off on the side and the top piece. Hate the way it freezes and is impossible to turn on sometimes after battery goes flat.

Had this phone since it came out. I love the design and the size. I love the features, but I have had so many problems which have made the phone unusable in just over a year. -The battery never worked properly and now doesn't work at all, it just randomly died after charging normally. If you wish to replace the battery you cannot buy a cheap one since the phone uses a battery which is only used in one other phone (XpressMusic). -The camera will only take pictures in low quality and will not record videos in high quality and crashes the phone (has been like that since I got it and now the camera wont work, it just crashes the phone when I try and use it). -It randomly likes to shut down when listening to music then takes forever to turn back on. -It doesn't recieve text messages properly, sometimes will miss large chunks from a message and I will get them the next day.

i have this phone & i have dropped it kicked it & smashed it so many time since christmas 2007 its even been ran over by car & bike & amazingly its still working. good phone everything works well but the sound is not that good. texts come late at times. best phone i have bought yet. Verrryyy goood. i recomend to many people

I had a problem with my phone, Nokia 5310. It would make calls to people in my phonebook by itself even with the keypad on lock. T-mobile replaced the phone but the new one did the same thing. I went and purchased a Nokia 5610 a phone which I had before and this one to does the same thing. I would look under by Call Log feature and the phone has placed calls by itself even with the keypad on lock. HELP!!!!

I just bought this phone last weekend and all I want to say is I�m very happy with it. The screen resolution is great and the sound is very clear. It comes with a 2 Gig card which is enough space to store a ton of data (not just music and pics but any type of data). No problems with freezing up or restarting. Camera isn�t top of the range but hey it�s a music phone, if you want to take great pictures just buy a digital camera. Anyone looking for a light, small and affordable phone but with all the features look no further cause this is the one to go for

It's a good phone. used to freeze up but i updated the software (ver. 08.32) from the Nokia website and have not had a problem since (if you want to know what version software your running press *#0000#). i noticed that someone commented saying that they couldn't put their sim card in. you have to take the battery out before the sim can go in. i use my phone a lot (music, text & talk time) so i have two batteries and a desk top charger so i have no down time. i like the equalizer feature and the speech recognition software. I'm not to happy about the lack of support for video files (it reads some mp4 videos as audio files). but all in all a great phone! i give it five stars.

The day I bought this i thought it was unbelievable. But have encountered endless problems with it since, from the charger not working to constantly restarting and freezing. The phone wouldnt delete all my messages as it would freeze, it takes an hour at least to load the message memory every time the phone is turned on. and now my latest problem is that the phone wont go past the welcome screen at all. Very dissapointed, easily the most unreliable phone I have ever had.

This phone, for me, is not very good. The battery life to be fair is rubbish, really it is THAT bad 2-3 days if your not using any apps, like I don't now. The music player is good, I always used to use it and my battery would last a day, so I brought a MP3 player instead. So if you want to use the music player its good but it runs the battery life down ALOT! The camera only needs one to sum it up, RUBBISH, its a rubbishy old 2 mega pexil, yea you can't expect a fantasic camera on an ultra slim phone but I think they could have done better. My last dissapointment is the keys they are to small, I text a lot and I keep pressing the but next to the one I want to press, it gets very annoying. So on the whole I'd say this phone for ME is a 3/5 but for you if you want your music and others it rate it 4/5. The battery life really brings it down, its ashame because its a really nice phone to live with and look at but its just I don't think they made it aswell as the y could have. Thanks

the phone is good for music on the move but i am looking for another 1 because i am going to sell it. the 1 i got wasn't the comes with music range but it is still good because i download my tracks from the internet so i think the comes with music is useless if you can down load the tracks for free from internet then wats the point of the comes with music ' why pay more i am currently selling mine for �45-�50 .if i sell it for more then thats just a rif off.so thats why i wouldn't buy it again because the value has gone down plus it has got a mind of its own so it turns off when i listen to music just like the w910i i might buy that. its a good phone overall

rubbbish rubbis rubbish ! this phone is rubbish i have had it for 7 months and after 5 months months it packed up on me side buttons for the music came off and the usb cable cover came off silent profile stopped working and it the phone kept crashing the camera wasent working properly then got it back about a day later the camera stopped working again we had to take it back its been in 4 repaair 4 times in the past 3 months they gave me a new 5310 and its not she a fault in that one phone i am having the same problems with my secound 5310 its a nightmare ! if you want to save money do not buy this phone waste of money !

Well, I have used this phone for a fair few years now, longer than any other phone I have owned. It's been everywhere with me, I mean all over the world and I have not had one issue with it. It's small, it does the basics perfectly and as far as I am concerned it's rugged too. Mine is scratched and battered to hell but every single key works flawlessly and still has a nice action. There is not much more to say really.. I have been offered the usual upgrade deals and will soon be approaching my third chance to upgrade. Most likely I will do what I have done the last few times and take a cheque for a few hundred quid instead whilst still continuing to use the 5310. My girlfriend just got an iPhone and I am in no doubt that my 5310 will still be in service when that has been relegated to a draw somewhere due to fault or otherwise.

this phone is rubbish i had been using it 5 months fine and then the music buttons on the side fell off it had to go into repair for about 2 weeks then i got it back about 3 weeks later the music buttons on the side stopped working and silent wouldnt work took it back then got it back it crashed again they gave me a new 5310 and this one is just as bad as bad this one is also crashing and the music side buttons are doing the wrong thing like the fast forward button pausing my friend who has the same phone as me has got the same problem with it i would not recommmend it to anyone if you dont wanna be constantly taken it in for repair do not by it and sometimes when im in a call it keeps crashing so when i turn it off and back on it goes from full batterery to really low battery do not buy this phone !

Will never buy a Nokia again. Battery life non existent, camera laughable, music player klunky, reception non existent even where my previous phones had no problems. Pretty much unuseable all round - Don't buy even for a year's worth of music!

I have had this phone since December 2008 and I am totally in love with it.. it is a great phone and I haven't had any problems with it. I usually get bored of phones pretty quickly but this one ceases to amaze! I would reccomend it to anyone!

quite rubbish really. actully i love love love it. and my dad loved his too until they both kepy freezing. apart fro that its great , great music and storage and easy to use. but not a long term one, reliable if you drop it and that, but overall i think im going to have to get a new phone because it keeps freezing. :(

I love mine, I had to replace it....my msn messenger froze wouldn't move from there; it kept coming up with null pointer error. And then it restarted and would freeze. Now my new one I love it...just hate the battery life.

i have has this phone for about 6 months now and it has broken completly, it doesn't even turn on anymore. at first i thought it was good, but then 2 of my keys fell off as i was taking it out of my pocket and thje back falls of constantly and the batterry falls out. the music keys failed to work after about 3 months and i was not impressed. it froze alot as well, it also has very poor battery life. DONT BUY IT!

This phone is great for it's music features, no doubt. But the problem with it is that the charger point is very fragile. My phone is just 3 months old and it refuses to charge now. I'll have to get it serviced somewhere I guess. And sometimes the entire phone freezes and slows down for no reason.

Can somebody PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me. I have searched the whole internet and NOTHING works. aaah. I have the Nokia 5310 on Vodafone and it will not let me receive picture messages, or use the internet. When recieving a picture message I try to retrieve it and it says "Unknown Network" I have tried downloadin the software I need, nokia sent something to my phone to save, that hasnt worked. Ive changed my settings as much as I possibly know, that has not worked. I really do not know what to do. I love my phone but why is this setting up so awkward?

Okay... I have been reading you'r comments. Most of the negative things you say are easily repaired with changing settings and so on.. The phone can also be updated to get: 1. Loud external speaker 2. Better Equalizer response, more base. 3. Faster scroll in playlist. 4. No more jerks in video recording 5. Stand-by operator text is now white (used to be blue). 6. Improved PC connectivity (USB) 7. Better Bluetooth search and the paired list now works. 8. THE RESTARTING PROBLEM IS ALSO FIXED. So updating also makes the phone alot better.

I own a Nokia 5310 for 3 months now. Everything is great except battery life. Lasts like 3 days before I need charging, and I hardly use the phone. Also, my charge port is corroded. Need to get that replaced. Otherwise, great phone!

Good Points: ? Small ? Thin ? Light ? Easy to hold ? Useful buttons on side ? ? Price ? Memory ? Never freezes or crashes ? Easy to use Bad Points: o Camera (ok-ish) o Video (very bad) o Headphones o Without the headphones the quietest volume is too loud o Battery life Overall its a good phone but not outstanding as there are several drawbacks. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. It is a devious phone. It will intice you in with its pretty looks and fabby music features but eventually you will find some problem with it. 1) Freezes often. 2) Has a mind of its own. 3) Dead pixels on the camera. 4) Screen breaks easily. 5) Rubbish battery life. I was extremely happy with this phone to start off and now a year on I wish I never bought it. And even with all these faults, Carphone Warehouse are still the most ignorant, patronising, useless, unhelpful phone company I have ever dealt with. BOO TO YOU NOKIA AND CARPHONE WAREHOUSE. hi here to review the nokia 5310. the one with the colours down the sides. would not reccommend it at all. Great for the first few days, after that it starts falling apart. The camera stops working ,the computer cannot recognise it. Its just a crap phone especially vodafones new white coloured one. I have one bit of advise. Dont give ur fone to friends to send music. The phone ends up getting thrown around. Trust me .Ive HAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst phone i have ever had in my life. It freezes, doesnt connect up to my laptop and its the latest laptop and the battery dies from just sitting there and not doing anything. The back is hard to put back on once you have taken it off! Iv never had such a bad phone in my life and iv had some rubbish ones. The only good thing about it is the sound quality x

I had this as a free upgrade to my Sony Ericsson W810i and in a nut shell, it isn't as good. Quality of music is very tinny and poor esp from the loudspeaker. The music controls can be used even when the phone is locked so when it's quite and something nudges a button it blares off out the loudspeaker. Texting was poor using this phone as it is very sluggish when tapping away, but my main dislike was the Nokia's interface as well as its texting interface, Sony Ericsson deal with texting in a much better and smoother way, and the camera is just dire. Also there are numerous bugs that will effect this phone which are well known about, that it shuts down and the phone can become unusable, so watch out. At the end of the day it does not come close to the W810i, the W810i features better music player, better supplied earphones, better camera with autofocus, easier to text no competition! Probably cheaper too!

my friend got this phone 2day, i was with her nearly the whole day.. and no problems, great music..camera is great..also noticed above some ppl are havin problems with it not being loud...i think it's loud enough...well anyway it's NOT BAD ATALL the sound..and my friend hasn't had any problems with it freezing or restartin or anyfing like dat...so am thinkin of gettin the pink and black 1 as she' got the red and black 1,my otha friend wants it in blue and black..we all agree 100% atm that it's FANTASTIC and i recommend it 100%..GREAT PHONE !!!!

I am currently on my 3rd handset of this particular phone. It is the most faulty phone very and my 3rd is being sent in for repairs or 02 will give me a different handset if they are nice to me :P It sends messages to people that I REALLY dont want them to go to and the alarm is often temperamental. This phone, coupled with 02's somewhat non-existent customer has resulted in me having the worst phone experience ever >_< Dont get it from 02!

When I purchased the phone, Within the first 5 hours I dropped it, and the screen cracked. I paid it no mind. I like the features, the music player is great, very loud speaker, good applications, great battery life, over all a pretty impressive phone. Then out of nowhere it crashes. Had to go get a replacement. I had not had the phone for more than 2 weeks! I got it replaced and when I got the new same phone, The screen cracked as well but this time I had no idea how it happened. EXTREMELY FRAGILE. I don't recommended this phone but if you insist, take extra precautions.

I have been using the phone for nearly i year now and its just great. this was the first ever nokia phone that i actually liked just by looking at it. the music of this phone just ultimate, it is bit slow on volume but the quality is superb (and that is what matters)+ its got 3.5mm audio jack - just connect any good headphones (probably sony)and enjoy. only thing lacking in the phone is the camera, its not at all up to the mark. you have to be very carefull while taking the photo - hold the phone absolutely still or the image will get hazy, and there should be more than sufficient lights. also the battery life is not upto nokia standards, but its good.

I have had this phone for nearly five months and now I am thinking of replacing it with the LG KS360. I have enjoyed using it however it is getting really boring. The keypad doesnt always lock therefore if I sit down when it is my pocket the music from the side buttons comes blarring out! My sister Beth also has the phone and we have both excperienced some continuese frezzing amd I had problems with trying to get onto my messaging page. It is great for texting as the buttons are just the right size. Camera is very good although you must have a memory card with it to store all your music and pics! Music is rubbish which comes with it so I hope you have a good source to get your music from. Lol. Good luck with your phone buying!!

I got this phone like last yr in july and then 3 months later it froze and wont turn on so i use the warrentty to get another one, and now it happened again! WTH it wrong with it? At first I thought it was because i got virus in my files, but when i got it scaned, it's none of my files fault! Damn Nokia! Cheapest phone ever! Can't even play music loud enough! I dont recomend this phone, unless u totally don't care for buying a new one every 3 months!

I had this phone for 3 months before I lost it and I have to say I was very impressed. I loved the choice of colours available for the strips down the side, and the 'Comes with music' feature was superb. The only bad thing about the phone was that it was a little slow when you turn it on, it takes a minute or two to start properly, but other than that it was great and I recommend it.

This phone is a load of rubbish, great memory but falls apart, i have had mine 3 months and most of the numbers have fallen of and the screen broken, 4 of my friend have it and had loads of trouble(including 4 cracked screens) and my sisters been through 2 of them in 5 months...the first 1 was a cracked screen, 2nd one over heating while in use and not in use, over all not a great phone NOT RECOMMENDED, if there were a 0 star rating it would get it!

I have this phone and I've had it for 4 months now. At first I found it exciting and a break from my old phone, but then I just got bored with it. There is no excitment in knowing every lump and bump, hole and groove in your phone and that's exactly what it is. If I had to comment on something good, it would be the music memory. It is out of this world. I also love the downloading music of the Internet bit of it. The outside of the phone lacks excitment too and the screen almost always will get smashed or cracked.

I've had this phone since it came out last years XFactor. Have had no problems with it at all, the battery last for at least 3days & thats with it switched on from 6:30am to about 10/11pm every day (except weekends!!!!) Am a strong texter, listen to music on it a lot aswell so would disagree on the battery life. Also have very good pictures on the phone & have a lot of friends & my children on it, they are a very high quality picture. Am now in the process of looking for a new phone as the screen is now starting to scatch & doesn't look good. Nokia.....you did a very good job there.

had this phone for 12 months now, really good looking slimline mobile, everything you could want for the price and more. never ever let me down and iv dropped it in water and a tin of gloss paint(im a painter lol), would defo reccomend this stunning phone to anybody lookin for a bargain at 70 quid.

I've had this phone for around 4 months and I've been pretty impressed, very good sound quality that can go very loud and it looks nice too, it's quite small and thin. The only things I don't like about it are the relatively poor camera quality (which doesn't matter really if you have a digital camera) and the slow speed of the phone when you turn it on. Other than that, I'd highly recommend it.

This phone won't last you more than 4 months. After 2 months, the vibrating function completely packed in. The plastic is faulty and will break after a while. And after 6 months you will find hat it has passed it's best and will die on you. Beware of the flashy designs. This phone isn't what it looks like it's going to be.

This phone, for the price, is the best one out there. A lot of problems i find here is people saying about the volume not being good. There is NO problem with the music volume. It is good quality and when you have your earphones it is more than loud enough. Remember people; this phone is now down to under �100, for what you get that is very good.

When I first go this phone a few months ago , it was absolutely amazing , the sound quality and the screen were amazing . But it kept freezing up for a few minutes after i turned it off/on and then it takes forever for the msg memory to load. On top of that it seems to restart alot and when it freezes , i can't even press a button . Sometimes I can't even restart it so I have to take out the battery and even that doesn't help . When it freezes I can't press a button to answer calls or read txt messages and I have to wait . Now , it is completely frozen and I keep turning it on and off and doing whatever I can to get it to work but nothing is happening . ANy suggestions ?

First of all I must say am very disappointed with this phone. I had it in August and three months later a single fall and the screen broke, Carphone ware house insurance dose not cover accidental damage. To the bin it went. Beside it freeze and many time sms pending.

I bought a Nokia 5310 xpress phone a couple of months ago, and it seems to freeze & restart quite alot. I spoke to a person from nokia support who advised that there are no generic faults with that phone that they know about, but after looking on a few forums, this does seem to be very common with this phone. I was told about a process to reformat the phone, but am concerned that I may lose all my stuff I've had downloded to it.. Please help anyone. Is the any help I can get for this issue, or have I blown �120.

Hi, I really like my phone but sometimes it changes its setting and I don't know why. When recieveing a text message it will just come up with an envelope at the top instead of usually saying 1 message recieved. If I get a missed call, it will start flashing until I touch it. I don't know how to get it back to normal! Hep?

the only thing thats wrong with this phone is that the screen breaks easily, and the side buttens fall off. and you can get many scratchez on it. Apart from this, i think that its a good phone. iv got it now but im going to get a new phone. i think that the nokia 5610 is much better than this phone.

Awful. There is no other words for this phone. When I first got it, I loved it and it was brilliant...unfortunately a few months after buying it and it doesn't even make sense to call the 5310 a 'phone'. The word Phone implies that you can actually make a phone call without the phone turning itself off 10 seconds into the call. It even freezes and turns itself off when i receive Text messages and then when it decides to turn itself back on it takes at least 10 minutes for the message storage memory to load. On top of this, the battery life is abysmal, it seems to go from full power to giving me warnings about low battery within a couple of hours. When I lock it, it frequently refuses to unlock, resulting in me having to remove the battery completely and restart the phone. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone unless you plan to change your phone again about a month after buying this one. Really Disappointed with the 5310, STAY AWAY FROM IT!

Just purchased this phone 2 days back from carphonehouse. The phone freezes for 3-4 mins after it is restarted and reads the memory card. There have been other occasions as well when it freezes. I'm seriously disappointed with this phone Have others experienced the same problem?

Brilliant phone - used it for about a month now. Love the sound quality and usability, lightweight and great looks. I have put a 8GB SHDC card in there - about �10 off ebay. All you need to do it update the firmware for it to show. 16GB will also work, not sure about 32GB, but you can google it, people have tried it.

I got this phone on contract when my N95 broke. I agree with this review entirely, its a great little phone and fantastic looking. It's small and lightweight but at the same time seems pretty tough. Its got plenty of features and the music player is really good. The one thing which concernes me is that I have read that music downloads are limited to 160, after which point you have to start paying. I have no idea so far as to if this is true but I'm sure I'll find out soon.I would certainly reccomend it and I really prefer it to my N95 and chose it over an N96 which I could have had on the same contract.

Fantastic phone! All features work flawlessly on mine. Anyone who can't hear someone on the other end...turn it up. The volume control is on the right side of the device. I can turn it up so loud, I actually have to hold it away from my ear when talking to someone. The only negative thing I could possibly say about this phone is that it was designed too small. Yes, I'm 6' - 1" and have relatively large hands. But the features and price were so tempting...I just HAD to have it. I've gotten used to the size though.

I've had 2... first was water damage but I loved the phone so just had it straight out replaced. Key pad is great for texting and the music quality is great. Two criticisms - 1. Massive memory - sounds like a good thing but it stored up to 9000 messages then would freeze when you deleted more than 40 and would take forever to turn back on and load again (around 45 mins - so not ideal in an emergency?!) - very annoying. 2. The music buttons were very easily pressed - which led to alot of blaring music at inappropriate times!

It is a great phone for a good price with regards to the functionality and stuff but you better handle it with care or the buttons start falling out (slider goes first). I have it for about 5 months and the music, radio and camera all work well but I am not sure if it's going to last for two years or so...

Been using the phone for a while now, bought it as it was a cheap but slim phone (I keep phones in my top pocket) with a lot of features. And I love it. Music is crisp and clear, display is great and the camera is a good as my previous phone (6300). It has crashed a few times when I've managed to confuse it, Still it's a 5 star from me. When I bought it, it set me back �80 and worth every penny. Had nothing but Nokias and the 5310 has only strengthened that view!

Great, sleek phone with lovely clear screen. Excellent value for money as they are very reasonably priced. Great memory capacity with memory card Agree about battery life but that said it's not the end of the world, do miss a flash on camera.

So tiny but I like it ... getting used to it. Always had an i-pod and it shut off when I was done. Why does the music player remain on even when you've gone back to the main screen. For instance when I'm done with the music player, and I hit the play button on the side, it comes on! What if I'm in a meeting and I lean on that play button and my techno music kicks in!! Tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

i had this phone, it was atrocious. it froze about once a minute, the computer rejected it, it never sent my texts. it was okay with the calander but the camera was poor, i liked the fact it came with a normal headphone socket though.

This phone is good overall. Good points: Small, sleek design, excellent memory, good games, big screen, easy to hold. Bad points: Camera gets very bad quality when you zoom in, bad quality video camera, too loud on quietest volume, too quiet on loudest volume. There are probably more points, good and bad, but I can't remember them at the moment. I would reccomend this phone, definitely.

i got this phone either in july or august. i cant really remember. anyway, its pretty amazing. i only had two problems with it though; 2 of the music keys on the side stopped working. and just TODAY when i was listening to music at my bus stop it turned off and when i turned it on again, the screen went white and i cant do anything with it anymore! this sucks. if your looking for a temporary cellphone/mp3 player, this is the one. but one to last over a year...i dont think so.

i have just brought this fone and its so far so good and ive actually got an 8GB card in the fone so you can go bigger than 4GB.... the fone is nice and easy to use but the music software and music store online is too complicated i think nokia need to tone that down and make it a bit more simple as this fone range is new and they have a long way to go before their fones are anywhere near as good as the Sony Ericsson Walkman range...

I Got this phone 6 months ago... everything was great up until now...the screen is completely black, when you turn it on and off, the buttons light up, but you cant see anything... The speaker wasnt all that great either, but it was a nice phone other than that, also... you can hook it to your computer with the usb cord and put pics and music on it, or take them off, and email them.. rather than running up your minutes/bill texting pictures and everything. I'd buy it, but just be really careful I guess, and if the screen messes up, take it back immediately

I got this phone for Christmas, and it didn't seem too bad the first day I had it but is shuts off when i try and delete my messages or i am listening to music. The keypad will lock up for no reason and it turns off. It is the worst phone I have ever had. I would not tell anyone to buy this phone.IT IS TERRIBLE!!

Hi all? I like this phone looks cool ultraslim nice music player phone But it has 1 problem. What the problem is. When you dial sometimes it doesn't go through it'll says NO NETWORK COVERAGE even you are outside. Thats the proble then someone call you, directly to your voice message even your phone still on. network reciver is kind of bad otherwise i love this phone.

Many people have complained about the 5310i because of the lcd screen. They say the lcd screen brakes on the bottom left so therefore you cant see half the screen.

I spent ages thinking shall i have this phone or not ,then i got to the point n i bought it with my birthday mone =( Im sadly dissapointed in this phone , first of all the buutons at the side fell out so i couldnt play music :@ and then it kept on crashing and then i waz told i couldnt take it back!!

For people who couldn't get the SIM in this pone - to protect the phone you have to take the battery out before putting the Sim in - then it is easy

This phone works well music sounds great,But the screen needs improvement to fragile mine broke after about 1 week. I did not abuse the phone just normal use like pushing the button to answer and the screen broke Nokia does not cover this so it will cost you even more to get it fixed.I think they should recall the 5310 and put a better display on the phone.You should buy somthing else if you do alot of physical activities.

Nokia 5310 is a Good looking and easy to use phone ... better battery life than SE ..but compared to Nokia itself .. its battery is average ... beging a music phone, the external sound is expected a bit higher .. overall good phone but not in best category.

i wouldn't recomend this phone ...its ok but the screen cracks so easily .. i have had it twice .. the first one broke completely and wouldn't turn on and it also had a cracked screeen and the one i have at the moment have a crakced screen and gradually bits of it are going black ... not very loud for music either and can be quite slow at times if you like storing alot of stuf! x

Great phone! Positives: exellent sound quality, classy design, durable, decent camera, micro SD-compatible, extras-calendar, radio, alarm, measures converter, 3.5mm headphone jack (normal size) Negatives: poor video quality, battery life is short. Overall, this is a phone which is well worth buying. The music quality is second to none and in good light, the camera takes a decent picture which can be uploaded onto a PC using the software provided (which can also be downloaded from the Nokia website). The earphones provided are of a high standard. I have dropped it many times and my screen has only a few, very minor, scratches on the screen. Just be careful not to drop it and you won't!! the positives outweigh the negatives and if you are considering this phone, then buy it!

Sorry - great looking and sleek phone, but the WORST I have ever owned. You simply cannot hear it unless it is attached to your ear! You have a phone so people can call you - How STUPID then, when you can't hear anyone calling you! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE LOOKS ON THIS PHONE! Its RUBBISH - eveyone I have met who owns this phones agrees!

I read heaps and heaps of reveiws before buying this phone and i must say the Apple iPhone may be good and all but this is the phone which a mix of the ipod and thecellular phone. Edison would be proud to see the Nokia 5310!lolThis is an excellent phone and there is not much bad things to say. At 9.9 mm thi is one of the slimmest phone making it extreamly easy to carry around. It too has flight mode wich is found in most modren phone. I decided to mention this little feature since I use it quite a lot! The only bad thing I have foud is that it has a 2MP camera. It lacks a flash so night shots are defineatly out of the quiestion, but in decen light the pictures are spectacular. The other thing about the camera is that it takes quite a long time for the picture to be seen (usually 10 secs.) That means quick movments which will be captured will be blured. If anybody wan't 2 buy this phone I defineatly recommend it!

This is an Excelent phone. i love the music keys on the side and the text Keys are easy to use. lots of good features. However... The screen has broken and it costs �40 to get it fixed. That is my only Misgiving with this phone, and i will pay the �40 but if it happens again then SE here i come!

good phone but has a number of problems, the dedicated music keys barely work, you have to hold down the button and then all of them just pause it, screen freezes and had to take it back as the screen had compleatly broken once, the soft ware is also not so good. but the phone when it works is amazing, easy to use like the home display, it has a mini menu with a calander apps list music or fm player buttons also the music quality is top notch. if the phone didnt have those problem s it would be a stars from me!

I began with the original nokia xpress music phone (white boxy shape, black frame) and actually loved it. Understandably short battery life. So I upgraded to the new version since I'm not a big fan of fancy touch screen type phones. Anyway, I just bought it 2 days ago and loved it. Now all of a sudden it's restarting over and over. Shameful! I'll heed your advice and trade it in.

I will take the time to write this review because in my searching for upgrading my phone, I found really helpful info from end-users of a few phones I was considering. So here are my comments on this Nokia 5310. This phone, which I used for 10 days before returning to T-Mobile was very cool. It has the MP3 although the controls for that are too easy to accidentally turn on your radio since they are external, on the side of the phone. The size is just right if you need small. I couldn't find a smaller, thinner one. Problem is though, I kept dropping it because my hands were too big for it believe it or not. Sound in the ear was good, speaker good, easy to navigate a ton of settings. I like font size on text that were big as well as #'s dialed. Overall I liked it and found reception good and all but the main reason I returned it was that the back light on the very small keyboard did not always come on right away when you started a function. This was a major pro blem in low light or dark places. It inherently I believe, is a design flaw in the phone. Because of this, I score this phone low. One must have instant back lighting on a very small keypad, I don't care how good your eyes are! I replaced for $30 more with the Nokia 6301. Many of the features were the same so the 10 days i spent learning the 5310 were not in vein! It is a little bigger but just perfect for my hands. Not to big not too small. Has Wi-Fi dialing capability too and gets my Earthlink email for free which I didn't see on the 5310. They both have easy access to Instant Messengers. The lighting is really good on the 6301 and the radio is easy to use but not external controls which prevents accidentally turn ons. I like the auto bluetooth feature on both so when i get in my Maxima, it automatically is on my hands free. They both have very easy keypad unlock features that also go on automatically when you are not using the phone for a time period you set! So i nsummary, I rate the 5310 poor and the 6301 a 5 star

the phone is avarage,it is not good for the money i have had my nokia 5310 Xpress music phone now for about 5 months my friends told me not to buy it but i did it lags (you press it and you have to wait for it to load) it does this very often now and it is very annoying sometimes and my friend who has one his messages are not beiong recieved i have now started to relive this my self wen i had 60 messages come throught from 2 months ago

I got this phone last year when it first came out. I think it looks great and the music sounds great on it but apart from that nothing is going for it. 1- it freezes a lot and restarts it's self. 2- when the battery is half way you can never tell when it will go, as it always stays green? and never gives you a warning. 3- the worst video camera ever. after playing about with the picture camera it was not too bad. 4- the buttons decide to work when they want. sometimes they do not respond. it comes and goes. 5- the play back buttons on the side fell off of mine and i kept my phone in a great condition too, which annoyed me. this has put me right off nokia.

two words to describe it, EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.I brought it for a considerable amount of money and I had problems from the start.For one, the handset continually froze and the only way you could unfreeze it is to take the back off and restart the phone which really annoyed me, at one point the phone wouldn't switch itself of when hitting the button to turn it off there was no response, so once again I had to take the back off.The worst point of all, for some reason music and pictures where suddenly appearing all over the place,for example a picture I had taken suddenly became the wallpaper without my control and when I entered the menu page music started to play, which quite frankly made me give up on my phone and I took it back to the shop, lucky I had insurance covered on it because otherwise id have a broken phone out of use. Please take advantage of the faults ive just told you because i don't want you to have the same disappointment i had. If i was you id just buy a better phone in the same price range.

personally i wouldnt buy this phone. its poorly made, the music buttons on the outside are very easily pressed which means if u dont lock your keypad music can come on automatically not good for when your in a meeting or at work in front of your manager :P. overall id give this phone 1 star the camera quality is bad the video is very naffy. the buttons fall off and just the phone itself is poorly made lets be honest if you drop it from around knee height on a road or pavement it will just break so if you do decide to buy this phone BUY A COVER TO PROTECT IT!!, to be honest nokia should stick a big label on the back of it HANDLE WITH CARE I BREAK EASILY.

I'm really happy with this phone. It's really thin, has an easy to use music player, and it makes calls with no problems. The loud speaker is as good as you can expect for a speaker of this size, but you wouldn't want to listen to music through it for long. The standard sized earphone jack size is really handy as you can plug it in to most speakers etc without needing a connector cable as you would need with a lot of other phones. I've had the phone freeze once while making a call, but other than that no problems. One other small complaint is that the Nokia software which syncs my phone with my computer really chews up the resources on my computer. All up though, a great phone. I highly recommend it.

This phone is rubbish! do not buy it. Ive had it for 3 months. the buttons have broke off twice and i've had to repair it twice. it turns off when on the music player and you have to take the battery out to get it back on! worst phone i have ever had!

nokia 5310 is a fantastic phone in the sense that itz nice, slick and does not put a dent in your pocket. i got this phone from Argos for the retailing price of �63.00 it comes with a 2g memory card and md8 speakers which includes x3 AAA bateries. i have been using this phone for six months now and it has not froze or rebootied it self. the speakers are not that loud but then again it comes with speakers and headphones so it good all round. it also has a 2 mega pixel camera which unfortunately does not include flash, but has zoom. this is a beautiful mobile and you wont be embarrased to pull it out infront of your friends.

All in all it's a very good phone, by far my favorite phone I've ever owned. I haven't had any problems with the battery or the camera. My camera is actually better than one in my sister's Blackberry. The one problem I have with it is that dust gets into the screen easily. I guess it's not a big problem, but it's driving me insane!

I got the phone delivered yesterday and it doesn't even turn on. When I do manage to turn it on, it often turns itself off esp when i've just made a call or listened to a voicemail....mmmm. I'm getting a refund. I'd love to try the phone again but it has sooo many problems which is a shame cos it's such a lovely phone!!!

Ive had the 5310 since last christmas and since the day i got it its been nothing but one problem after another it always freezes screen goes hwite then comes up with contact not ready and cant find its memory card and ive coped a year with it until today 12 days from it being 12 months old exactly it froze when recieving a msg and now wont turn on 2/5 this phone has ruined my opinion of nokias forvever

I have had this phone since Christmas last year when it 1st came out, it was an outstanding phone when i first got it, and true it does hold alot of messages, i have had over 3,000 on my phone (lazyness in deleting them ha) but it is nearly 1year old now, i have taken good care of it and everytime i get a text, it crashes and it will not tur back on. it is a rubbish phone if you are looking to keep it for a short while, otherwise in the long run, it is rubbish

This is just a brilliant phone to own. I previously had the motorola slvr L7 which was an ok phone but this nokia feels like they have taken all that was wrong with the slvr and improved it aswell as adding new extra and shrinking it down. I truely recommend this to anyone and urge you to ignore all the cynics up top moaning about how they couldn't get there sim cards in (which was not difficult at all)and so on. Brilliant phone, 5 stars.

The Nokia 5310, (silver sided colors) is tops 5/5. It may not be as fancy as some of the others but for music, games, phone use, it is perfect. Small and fun. Nice speakerphone for playing music and headphone jack is suited to regular headphones. A definite plus. Comes with adapter to plug any headphone in and from this little adapter, press to get calls and turn off and playing music, you can forward to next song so not using the phone itself will save battery power. Recommend headphones with builtin volume control, ie Skull Candy ear buds. Also saves battery casue your not using phone itself. I like it for games and the screen is clear as a bell, colors are amazing. Very important..I had problems initially when first bought it with freezing, crashing and restarts and found a solution without returning it. Found the solution at a feedback site. Turn off the phone. Take out the memory chip. Put it back in. Turn on phone. Will restart normally. Never had a problem again. Works like a charm. If you use it for music and games, expect to charge daily but what do you expect. If your constantly using it for extensive usage, this is accepatble for me. Also, the battery imput seems loose in phone. After research with Nokia, found this to be normal to prevent shock to system if it falls while plugged in for charge. Enjoy this gem. Am looking for another at a good price for backup. Peaceout!!

Best phone I've had, except a couple of things. Battery: It's nice and long life, but you don't get enough warning that it's going to die. Also it once discharged totally and lost the time and date which was very inconvenient. Camera: A camera of this quality shoud also come with a focus and light!

i hate this phone it broke in the first few weeks that i bought it. The charger jack inside the phone wont hold a charge. T mobile wont exchange it, so i'm stuck with it, and a two year contract. i won't but this phone again. I was not pleased with their customer service either.

I have had this phone for a year now and i have stop using it. The reception on it is very poor,i have gone back to my old phone so i don't miss phone calls.From checking on the web it seems it's a problem with this phone. I use it a mp3 player but as a phone it's not much use.

to all of you who complain about low battery life, charge it every night regardless of the remaining power. this is what sony reccomends for their phones. this won't shorten the life of your battery. i also have a 5310 and i charge it every night. no problems. forgot to mention that the video camera is useless and one of the worst, so i'm downgrading it to 4 stars. regarding battery life i don't know why you have to wait for the battery to die before you charge it. i charge mine every night before going to bed and i don't have any problems.

Since my last comment, i'm downgrading this phone to a 4 star... As, I and many others did not notice, the faulty camera's in most models. Put your camera on, and hover over something black with your camera, look at all thoses, green, blue, and red dead pixels...

Love this phone, but there are a number of things that are quite annoying about it. Firstly the fact the the FM radio can not pick up more than one radio station and the reception is weak at best.Having said that, this only bothers me now and then as I use the MP3 player almost constantly. The other negative point is the fact that it freezes when I upload music onto it and constantly resets itself at the most annoying times. Overall though, this phone is absolutely ideal for what I want it for - a small phone, with an MP3 player that I can use generic headphone jack with. Defintely recommend it once Nokia can sort out the two issues I have with it!

i reaaly like this fone. has the audio chip , dedicated buttons and what not. only doesn t have 3g. but who cares? i dont need it for what i do. and about the freezing and restarting and tinny sound can be solved by upgrading to firm ware 8.52 or sumtin. the volume doesnt overly increase but sounds much better. and it has a great screen and the lack of 3g is made up by including EDGE. and cos i got the comes with music edition even better! great phone for the price range

got this phone on contract. kept freezing and turning off so i got it replaced and got another THIS time with something broken inside it. rang up orange to get another replacement and i wasent allowed. i just bought a new phone insted. it is such a good phone phone but the freezing is terrible. you will litrilly have to put your sim in an another phone cause it wont stop freezing!

I'm a proud owner of this phone. And I do not agree with the comment made on the battery life. The battery life in this phone is outstanding considering the size of it ect. Mine lasts me around 2 days, which I think is reasonable, considering I use the music feature all the time.

I won this phone tonight in a nokia competition.. i have to say im a little dissapointed ( i know i sound ungrateful!) but the keypad doesn't work... it wont go "down, across or the green button doesnt work".. its a great looking phone... i wish it worked then it would be fine.. ohhh and the software for the dowloads isnt supprted with a mac.. so now i have to buy vmware... gutted!

To anyone looking to buy this phone i'm being complately and utterly serious when i say do not you will be wasting money you might as well be burning it if you buy this. As well as having a low battery life this phone tbh doesn't have the greatest musical features, if you're looking for music i suggest a sony errickson which i'm regretting not buying one. As well as me i know several people who have bought this phone and experiance the same problems of freezing, losing the ability to text, memory card not working all after the first day, i kid you not. In general the only good thnig i can think about this failure of a phone is how sleek and lightweight it is, but other than that my advice is just DON'T BUY IT!

I bought this phone around 3 months ago wanting a music phone with a fairly good camera, But i have now realised how poor the camera is, I sometimes go to take pictures of friends and end up waiting so long for it to take. Just recently i tried to access my contacts and it kept showing the message "contacts not ready" when it did let me open the folder was empty and it had deleted all my contacts i thought, but it was just not displaying them from the sim card or phone. I have now managed to get the phone to show me the contacts but they are all not in alphabetical order. I would not recomend this phone but if you are looking for a good music phone go for the Sony Ericsson walkman, or if you want a camera again The Sony Ericsson Cyber Shot.

I dont know why some people are going on about this phone being rubbish because i got this phone yesterday and i think it is absolutely fabulous. It has great looks, great features and holds alot of songs on it as longs you put in a memory card. I have the 2gb memory card in mine which i got free with the phone from the carphone warehouse. This hold around 600 songs which is plenty for me. I dont have any problem getting the sim in and out. Its because you have to take the battery out first lol. Anyway i would recommend this phone. BEST PHONE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!

I've been a musician for 30 years and music is the love of my life! This is an AWESOME phone for music and almost all of the features are above average. Good call quality and any bugs you might run into can usually be fixed by making sure you have the latest software. If you love music, I'd highly recommend this phone. There's no phone out there now that can compare (especially for the price).

standard nokia phone works pretty good and very small, but camera is rubbish, takes only blurred photos (shutter speed must be like 2 seconds), and no flash make it useless as a camera really.

Rubbish phone, crashes on me everytime i try and delete messages.. the battery dosn't last for over 9 hours. And just recently it won't even turn on now. So i have had to buy a new phone.. if your willing to take the chance for lots of problems then fine. But for me, this phone is a no go zone.

i owned a sony ericsson w 810i before...gave a very good battery life...day before yesterday bought this nokia 5310...but i just have to admit its battery life sucks...jus lasts for 1 day that too with minimum usage...for that matter this flamboyant 5310 is no match to sony ericsson walkman models in terms of both sound and camera...

I've had this phone for a few months now, and I've had no problems with it, and I don't regret buying it. If you take good care of it, you shouldn't have any problems. Music player is ace- sound quality is brlliant. The only thing that would have made the phone even better would be to improve the camera, but after all, it is primarily a music phone. :)

good phone, but after about a month, the phone just turns itself off as soon as i turn it on, just freezes and then turns off. i see by looking at a lot of the comments nearly everyone has had the same problem :( it is a BIG shame because i really liked the phone but it has just like died so i had to get a new phone, i got the samsung tocco whichj i think is a really good phone :) no problems as of yet but i'm sure as technology goes it will at some point lol

i love this phone, it is stylish and suitable for its purpose. it is well worth the money. the only downfall is the camera, it is a bit slow but is okay. it is easy to use and has memory storage of 4gb and you can insert a memory card if needed.

Well, I'd rather the battery life was much better than it is. As Nokia continue to improve on updates to specific phone's softwares and operating systems, they should also consider manufacturing better batteries otherwise it's such an anti-climax to an otherwise nice handset.

Love it....had 2 return my sony w580i because of the flaws that a LOT of people have reported, this phone though is very good, very very good design, light & just plain gorgeous, its the black & red!! Great music player on it, got it for �89.99 inc a 2gig memory card which is VERY good value I think. Nokia....PLEASE DON'T LET ME DOWN!!

I've had this phone about 2 months now, and in the last couple of days it has started having the freeze/restart problem reported by so many people. This has increased in frequency, and now freezes about 2 minutes after turn on, each and every time. In the last month I have not changed anything on the phone that could have triggered this. I have no music on my phone, have taken no photos, not updated the firmware, modified contacts or other settings in the last month. After reverting the phone back to it's factory state, (original sim, clearing memory & settings), the problem remains. I have to conclude that this is, in all likelihood, a hardware fault rather than a firmware bug. Judging from the number of similar complaints, it's by no means an isolated problem, and seems to affect a significant proportion of these phones. I'm very disappointed in Nokia, why do they continue to sell this phone with such a major flaw? In conclusion; the phone is small and light, with many nice faetures, but this means nothing if you can't keep it powered long enough to make a call!

Well in terms of music its good. i boutght it recently and it came with 2gb memory card. i used about 800 mb and it kept on freezing. i had to delete many tracks to stop it from freezing. also i've got issues with the battery life. it dies farely quickly. other than these faults, the phone is fine.

this is a great looking fone, i bought it brand new, but immediatly had problems with the fone freezing whenever i had a missed call! dont know whats wrong with it, also the ringtones where very quiet, i could hardly hear it when i was walking along a main road. the next bad point is the music player, to say the fone is a so called music fone it soo quiet, other than these points its a good fone. thanks

I first bought this phone and it didn't work at all, got a new one and it crashes constantly, when you get a text message or when someone rings you. You have to take the battery out and wait a while to get it to unfreeze. Reflashed the software and it still does it! Complete waste of money.

This phone is my best phone that i have bought. It has a strong casing so it fells like it will not break and it is very quick to do things you want it to do. The battery life is not brilliant nor crap, it is moderately good. The user interface is extremely simple it is like a computer: click and go! The buttons are rather small but you will get used to them, texting is fine and the sound quality is just like a IPod. The music buttons make listening easy and simple. The games that com with the phone are good, and you can download and game ending in .jar (java games). Also the phone is very sleek and stylish, also cool! So i think you should buy the Nokia 5310. HI, This is phone is really wonderful if we see its size and look, but there are few problems in it, like its Camera is very slow though good in image quality, the biggest problem in this phone is that it some times restarts during call and anothe problem is if you are on call you cant easily hear beep of call waiting if in case you get another call.

This phone is really good worth the money had it 4 about 8mounths now nothings gona wring with it although am gona sell it of an get a w350i which looks good....the phones camera is average not the best camera but o well..and it had good games...an lots of memory becuase of the 2gig memory card...itss worth the money and i would recamend this phone 2 anyone who is considering 2 by it...

Yeah, my daughters freezes up as well, mainly when the sd card is in. when taken out, it seems to work fine. tried different cards with the same result. Hopefully will find a firmware upgrade for it to fix the freezing probs. Wake up nokia....this problem is VERY widespread

THis phone is the best on i have ever had, it looks great and has a brillient music player which can be compared with the walkman brand. Theres no npoint in moaning about a bad quality its a music but it is rubbish. Still the best phone I have ever had!!!!

Love it! For the price compared to ipod nano this is very competitive. The sound quality, especially the way it holds the bass is brilliant. I plugged in the same headphones I use for my my 2nd gen ipod nano and was blown away. No the menu isnt as user friendly but you get used to it. I have now transferred all my tunes from the laptop to the memory card and the ipod is gathering dust. If you are thinking of buying an ipod nano - dont buy it, buy this...upgrade to 8mb sandisk memory card and you are on your way to using what I consider to be strong competition to the ipod market. You also get the unlimited access to Nokia tunes...well worth it. Phone wise its great to!!

Turns itself off all the time, when it isn't turning itself off.. it's freezing. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. i've come across atleast four people whp have had the same difficulties as me with the mobile.. and have also heard that they stopped selling it in my local carphone warehouse due to the problems reported. Although the rating is excellent.. i highly disagree, it seems ok for th first month or two. After that, you'll regret ever going near it. Also, when you turn your phone one afetr it being off, or after it turns itself off, it takes atleast 5 minute before it stops saying "Message storage memory not ready yet" and until then, you can't text anyone

when i first got this phone the firmware was 3. something and had problems with the music player speaker volume and slowness. iv updated the firmware a couple of times and is now on 08.32. seems like this firmware has made the phone a tad quicker and all other problems have been corrected in previous firmware updates. i think its a fantastic little phone for the money, dead easy for texting, callin etc screen is nice has a good light sensor to preserve battery. The camera is not that good really but it was aimed as a music phone and not imaging. Battery life i thought was great if u were not using the music player, but i use it a bit and found that although it could of been better(does have a chip in it to save battery while using music player) was perfectly fine for me. I got the most out of the battery by not having animated screen savers and switching GPRS to 'when needed' i guess if they made a better battery the phone may not ended up as slim. It has exactly th e same features as a nokia 6300 or 6500 baring the odd thing. the screen also seems to have a scratch resistant covering, mine is still in really good condition after about 6or7 month. I would highly recommend this phone as iv found it a joy to use! sometimes i forget its in my pocket its that slim of a phone!

The phone hangs a lot and works very slow with memory stick even i had only 2gb memory stick as against 4gb that was stated by company. so if you are planning to buy this phone be sure that u will be getting only half of what is promised to you by the Nokia company

i love this phone. small and very lightweight. great sound. Looks good. Easy to navigate. Only problem I have is that I can't figure out how to hide the icons on the screen - they are covering most of the picture on the screen ....frustrating........

I had this phone for a year but sadly i lost it :( It was brilliant. When i first bought it, it kept freezing and restarting within the first week which put me off but as i kept on using it, it never did it again, loved it loads!! loved the slim design FANTASTIC! (good price too) i now have the LG Secret which it also brilliant, but i do miss my old Xpress phone!

Its a great phone in terms of size and battery performance. The screen has excellent definition for video playback and the sound quality is surprisingly good for a phone this size. The only Niggle so far has been the ocassional software lockup when the phone will become unresponsive and / or turn off.... I have also observed the power button becoming unresponsive.. hopefully a new firmware will fix these issues and make it into a great phone :)

Great phone with and excellent music player. Will definitely make you reconsider using your iPod. Playback problems have been fixed with the latest firmware update. Only problems that remain are it's lack of reading WMA metadata correctly (genre appears as "Unknown" and composer as "Unknown"). Plays all formats perfectly and has no problem reading metadata from AAC and MP3s. Overall great phone.

This is the WORST phone i have ever purchased. Forget about music, I would like to make PHONE CALLS. That's what a phone is for, correct? I have never had such terrible reception or so many dropped calls. The phone also gives me false information. Just yesterday I received a call from someone that wasn't in my phonebook and my mother in laws name popped up...she didn't even call me yesterday. Conclusion: If you like to mess around with music then, sure this phone is for you. But, if you like to make phone calls and get in contact with people then I would NOT recommend this phone!

This phone is the worse one I've had. I've had it less than a year and I already want to get rid of it. In the time I've had it, its been in for repair twice, for exactly the same reason. It freezes, screen goes white, it reloads and then after thats happened I have to wait 5minutes for the keys to respond or sometimes the keys would stop responding for no reason. I took it for repair a second time for the same reason and I've had it back 3 DAYS and it's already playing up. It didn't recognise that the sim was in, when it was on silent it didn't vibrate like I had set it up to do, it just vibrates when it feels like it, it reset my Text Message ring tone and when I plug it into my stereo (I have a cable that allows me to do so) to play music it only plays through one speaker so i have to mess about trying to sit it in right to get full connection. I am fed up with this phone. Yes it has a great music player but what use is it if it keeps freezing and crashing?

Bes phone i have ever had !!! the music can go soo loud, the camra is good and the secrren is soo clear and nice. I had a moterola b4 this one and i must say i prefer the nokia. its realy slim and looks so stilish. i haven had and problems with this phone and if i do (which i dont think i will) then i will comeback and tell you. I wouldnt recomend this phone if ya gonna be dropin it n stuff like that all the time simpy becaus eit fells os delicat in your hand!! But overall an outstanding phone !!!!

Okay, i got this phone is July sometime and it's been awesome! There was one sticky moment when it froze and wouldn't work for a couple of minutes but if you switch it on and just leave it on the main menu for 5 minutes it will be fine. Sometimes the buttons can be slow at working when it's had a moment like this but it will work again in a matter of minutes, so don't worry! It will be fine! The USB connection is especcially good! I have loaded lots of songs onto it and it has coped with them. The FREE 2GB memory card has really helped and it totally saved me from buying one! One of the best Nokia's I have had in a while, definately! The XPress Music Player could beat the Walkman on a Sony Ericcson! =]

What a phone!!!! it loks stunning, and its so thin, you dont even notice it in your pocket. However i do get what they are talking about with the short battery life. also the camera is not that good but i didnt get the phone for the camera. the music features are great and the sound quality is amazing. Overall a great phone!!!

Bought two from Tesco for me and wifey. She swapped hers for a Sony after exchanging Nokia 5310 THREE times due to phone keep locking up. She would have to remove battery to restart phone - not even the power button worked. Mine has just done the same, and reading reviews I'd agree seems to be after you receive a missed call you have to take battery out to restart. Nothing on Nokia website to help out here either. I'll try downloading the latest software and let you all know if it cures the problem... Battery life is absolutely abysmal. Although the phone is tiny and slimline dont forget you will need to carry the cheap looking big ugly charger with you. I have to charge mine everyday only making and receiving text and calls, not even using music/radio/camera etc. No wonder there is no flash on the camera, that would just kill this phone... If the battery and lock up problems were sorted I would rate this phone. Unfortunately, if I cannot cure the lockup problem I t oo will be returning it to Tesco.

After a week of use, it broke the screen, I sent to repair, they fixed, and came back with gray blur in top of the screen. and the battery only last 6 hours, in standby. I resent to repair and they did nothing, it became back again with same problem. Keep away of this phone!

The phone is the funkiest of them all. It has the looks, easy to use, good camera, wonderful music player with 2 gb space!! and ultra slim design which I love most. For people who have restart problems, try updating phone software through nokia web page, in fact I didnt have that but may work for you.

I would love to rave about this phone, for the most part i think it's great, the design and most functions work great. I have updated to the latest firmware, which has solved the problem with the sound volume, sadly this has not solved the two main other problems. Firstly, every now and again when playing music, (maybe once in ten hours) the phone will restart for no apparent reason, there is then the delay while the music library updates before you can continue listening to music. Secondly, my phone has just died for the second time. I had this phone for 3 weeks and when i plugged it in to charge it froze, then the screen flashed on and off, and on...and off. All the buttons froze and i was unable to get the phone to start. Leaving it charging, trying a different battery, a different sim, a different memeory card, no sim, no memory card, plugged in to the charger, not plugged in, with headphones, without headphones, nothing could revive my phone. One trip (and five days) at a nokia service centre later and they had reflashed my phone with the latest firmware, lost all my settings, but at least it was working. Restored all my contacts from backup, away we go. It's been three months but last night...same thing happened again. I would LOVE to reccommend this phone, when it works i think it's a brilliant bit of technology, unfortunately, i can't. I would not advise anybody to buy this, at least until nokia sorts out the firmware problems.

Got the Nokia 5310 on Vodafone pay as you go, bought it as a music phone with the main intention of using bluetooth to transmit the song to external headphones or an external bluetooth speaker. The music player has an option, play through bluetooth , and this connects and pairs to the external headphones/speakers , but a bug means it will only play 1 track then disconnect! (The Nokia 6300 has the same problem) Battery Life is about 2-3 days at most with little use. In its favour, I doubt you could get a better phone this price (�70-80 payg) but bear this bluetooth bug in mind when purchasing.

i have this phone and i have to say that on the whole i am rather imprssed with it. however i must agree that the battery life is (rather predictively) quite poor and also the phone tends to 'lag' sporadically noticable on the menu screen and when playing java games. admittedly, i have already had to take the phone in for repair due to a faulty earpiece, and the phone seems to be cquite comlplacent regarding which wall socket i use when i go to charge it. agreeably exceptional for music!

A five star for its stylish minimalis design. It looks conventional but timeless at the same time, just like the big ben (I think :-D). However, its price is still expensive, compared with other branded phones, i.e. SE or Samsung, which have more features than N5310. There is no video call feature or even 3G, for example. For the battery, I have no comment as I do not ask for more.

This is a very sleek phone and sounds great when plugged into headphones. I actually find it very rugged as well as i have dropped it many times and still works perfectly. The only probellms i've had is the handsfree adapter you get with it does not work and stops the headphones from working. Also it will often say the library needs updating on the music player which can take up to 5 minutes if you have a lot of music which is tedious if you want to just listen to some music. Apart from this i think it is a brilliant reliable phone like all nokias i have had

It may just be a bad batch of phones but I have been very disappointe in this phone. The features are good however, I ended up having to change my handset because the screen kept freezing and the handset continually switched off during sending a text or making a call. In addition it asked me to "choose network" every few days and sporadically refused to send or receive texts. I was intitially told it was a network issue, but once this had been ruled out, i had the phone repaired. I received a new 5310 handset....which done exactly the same! After this i gave up and insisted that a different type of handset be ordered for me. Very disappointed.

This phone is brilliant.... everything is so good about it. I just cant fault it, the music, video/camera, display is all top of the range. It is super gd lookin with the slim design. Texting and calling is so easy, and so is everything else to be honest. It has many of the latest features and i would recommend this phone to anyone :)

worst phone ive ever bought. had several problems of freezing, memory card not reading, when i turn off the phone it reset all the factory settings every time, and god forbid u hook it up to the computer to transfer images it'll send ur phone on the fritz

since 2 weeks i'm using this phone... till noe it hs freezed n restarted 5-6 times, but i'm not worried cause dis is a smal bug in de series40 software [covered under warranty] n cn b rectified just after a software upgrade at any nokia care centre.... battery life is above average, n in matter of looks n usability it's awesome. what's more.... it comes wid a complimentary 1GB mmc [microSD] wid preloaded content... not 2 mention bout the bundled data cable n software. this gadget is just AWESOME.... go 4 it!!!!!

I have had this phone for the last week now. I got this phone with virgin 18 month contract for �12. (which i would recommend to ANYONE) This phone is made to be a basic phone with music system and it is exactly that. It is a great phone, very simplistic and very loveable. I would recommend it to anyone. The camera is basic but ok, The music system is very good and able to make playlists on the phone which is great. The phone is very customisable considering the cheap price. The phone itself is very sleek and stylish and everyone who has seen it wants one. I dont know what the fuss is all about with this low music volume. My phone is more than loud enough on 6+ out of ten. Oh did i mention that Virgin contract i got you get a free 2gb memory card. Do yourself a favour and get this phone if you want simplicity, style and sleekness in a phone.

I got this phone for Christmas and gave it away 2 months later. The first problem is that when i have a missed call, the nokia 5310 freezes and is unable 2 switch off so i had to remove the battery and completely restart the phone again. Also, when i was listening 2 music, it would freeze after about 5 songs!! Soo much for an 'Xpress Music'. Good sound quality but dreadful for freezing. When i took it back 2 the carphone warehouse, the woman said she had 2 see the problem before she could send it off and she tried ringing it a couple of times and guess what.. it didnt freeze! It has a mind of its own! I do not recommend this phone as i have heard similar reviews.

I have the so called limited black edition of XpressMusic 5310.And maan it's a superb phone.Iwas thinking to bye the SE W910i but after I saw this slim and sexy phone...I WANT IT and then buy it.Nobe of the errors has acquire so far.No freezing,no restarting.Everything works like a charm and I'm glad that I bought this phone.And btw W910i was gonna be the first SE I've ever had but I'm hardcore Nokia user and I don't think I will dare to change my GSM choise.Overall superb telephone..In your face SE!!!

I love Nokia 5310 very well, with the exception of its camera. The pics are very poor. But why is it that some Nokia phones will be 1.3 mp camera and the pics will be better than some with 2 mp. Nokia 5700 has 2+mp and the pics is far better. 5310 pics is a great discouragement. All other features are Ok.

this phone is fitt! ive had it for a week or two nows no probs absaloute class act of a phone, i have had sony erricsson walkman phones in the past and althoguh they are brilliant phones in there own way they do not compare with the nokia. its 16m screen is extremely clear and the sound qaulity is perfect. ( i did listen to it through �60 headphones) its has the standard 3mm jack wich is great if you own your own headphones. i would reccomend this phone.

just bought this, one thing that was said about it is that it lacks a flash but put the white balance on 'tungsten' and in lower light it comes out quite well (just not as good as it would with a proper flash) love it, cameras really good in daylight anyway , and it looks amazing :)

Thought it was brilliant at first but then after three days it started freezing then the screen cracked and the Nokia center did not fix it right and the key pad stuck out. It still frose, eventually after it was run over by a car and dropped in a puddle it gave up the ghost. I have now replaced it with a Sony Ericsson W910i which is far superior. Prior to this I always had a high regard for Nokia phones.

I love my phone! I named him teacup, he's really cute like a baby, but this phone does come with several problems. Mine is a replacement because the first one I had restarted everytime it tried to receive an email and the new one sometimes fails to send text messages. But, these problems are ignorable because the phone overall is REALLY great.

Low speaker volume makes this phone impossible to hear as soon as there is a little background noise. Crappy radio reception with a lot of screeching. Otherwise, this phone has a nice design and a lot of cool functions you won't be able to use in North America, because they are locked.

Got this phone in early January. Was initially impressed by the range of features. The sound quality of the MP3 player was particularly good, camera also decent. Screen also visible in bright light. A problem I encountered early on were that the phone was so thin and light that I couldn't tell without looking whether I had it in my pocket. Although the looks are great, I feel durability may have been sacrificed. I dropped it on a wooden floor in April which disconnected the screen. I got that fixed for free, but in July I took the phone out of my pocket to find the screen was broken. No idea how it happened but it must have bern something fairly innocuous. This time I was told repairs would cost more than the phone was worth. I can't afford that and I can't afford a replacement so I've gone back to my 5140i. Its eccentric but its solid!

Have had the 5310 over a month and it is fantastic in all respects except the keyboard is a little to small for adult fingers. The sound is better than most dedicated MP3 players and the Nokia supplied software for synchronising with Outlook works far better than I expected, and am now useing the phone instead of my PDA. Battery life seems ok for the way I use a mobile requireing a charge once a week when texting 5 or 6 times a day and twice a week if use the MP3 player for a couple of hours a day. The only thing that worries me is the miniturisation of some of the connectors, charger input, usb connection. I would rather the phone be a fraction deeper and use larger connectors as I can see these parts failing, not through miss use but by not being man enough for the job in the hands of younger users, will it last as long as my RZR V3 still working well after 3 years.

This is a great phone, Nokia have put alot of love and thought into producing a well-balanced mobile. Texting is a breeze with the well spaced responsive keypad, call clarity is good, music capability fantastic, radio, all the cables and software you need, good looks (I've got the red version). I havent had any problems with freezing as widely reported, this problem must have been fixed. Battery lasts a couple of days which is fine. I love the mp3 functions being on the front of the phone. The camera takes great pics, very clear, even though there's no flash. The screen is crystal clear. I bought the Kylie bundle at carphonewarehouse for �79.99 including �10 credit on virgin, worth every penny.

The music player is excellent and the sound quality is just as good as my I-touch..the screen is by far the clearest and brightest Ive ever seen.the camera takes clear photos ,but I haven't used the videocam yet.I'll be using this for a long time. hey you should upload your site. the review of nokia 5310 is not up to the mark. the freezing problem has been solved and the battery life is now 2-3 days. upload this and provide it with 5 stars. no problem. the camera is 2 megapixel but it has imagestabalaizer which removes hotpixels and clarifies the image. I don't know what these people are chating about the spekers are quiet (if u cant hear the phone then get your ears tested )as i think there loud for the size of the phone. I have had lots of music phone's and i think the 5310 is in the top 3 if you do have issues with the phone then send it back don't sit there and moan your fat ass off about it. i think the phone is great and have had no issues with it if you want a phone that looks sweet and great for music then buy 5310 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I picked up the 5310 the other day. The phone sounds great. I wanted a phone where I could simply drag and drop music onto the device, no more using special software, importing/exporting etc., this phone does just that. Not only that, but this phone will accept an 8GB MicroSD card with no problems. The only thing is it will report the card as 4GB. Plug the memory into a USB card reader and into your computer and start dragging music onto the card. I currently have 6.4 GB's of music on the phone, it does not slow the phone down or cause it to crash. The camera is somewhat disappointing. It looks fine, but would be nice if there was a flash. Remember, this is a music phone, if you want a really nice picture buy a digital camera. The battery life is so-so, when I first charged it up, I was fooling around with it all day customizing different things on the phone, and trying out the features. I talked on it for about an hour, and played music for a total of about 2 hours. I left the phone on all night and used it as a radio alarm clock in the morning. Used the phone as a walkman as I went to work (20 minutes music) and talked on it for about another 20 minutes. Used the walkman on the way home and by the time I got home, the battery was almost dead. Took about 2 1/2 hours to get a full charge. I like how the music will automatically pause if you receive a call while listening to music. The call will come through on the earphones. Use the phone as normal to speak. The radio picks up stations surprisingly well. The phone is nice and small, and doesn't take up valuable pocket space. The screen looks great. I don't like how you have to remove the back case to access the memory card. It would be nice to have a memory card slot on the outside so you can switch on the fly. The slot is under the cover, but you don't have to remove the battery or sim card in order to access it. Overall, a nice phone that you will enjoy.

Just got this phone... & I can honestly say I`m not at all sorry.Lots of folk have put the Nokia 5310 down so much what with the restarting problem which can be solved by updating the OS with the most upto date one mine is V 05.81.. 06-02-08.. Variant 136.01 & I have had no trouble at all with my Nokia so far. It dose every thing I want it to & the only let down is in the camera department,but to be fair I did`nt buy it for the camera only for the music side which I`m extemely pleased with.People expect way to much with most if not all mobiles today Specs wise & if you want to snap great Pics every time then buy a dedicated digi Camera. I Love my Nokia.!!!

the restart problem is eaisly fixed!! just go to your nearest nokia center and 3hrs later its fixed i had the nokia 5200 before and had the same problem,but a quick trip up to the nokia center did the trick!!now my nokia 5200 and nokia 5310 work perfectly !! :]

Got this phone as a sony replacement from the carfraud warehouse so its not my first choice, the battery life is poor, the camera is slow and tricky, the sim card slot is difficult to manouevre and as of yesterday the sound quality of made and received calls has deterioated to the point of me having to endure the repair service merry go round of afore mentioned incompetent mobile phone emporium, good times.Avoid this phone, its ugly and poorly made.

Phone hangs if phone memory is full. Always move received files from the phone to the SD card. Then it won't freeze anymore! And switch from MP3 to AAC for the best sound!

I up graded from the 5300. I had three of them in 6 month. Screen broke once and the slide broke twice. I have had my 5310 for over 7 weeks now and have had no real problem with it. I read alot of the review on here before I decided to write a review. I know our cell service is not up to what you have in Europe. Alot of the negative things I read are normal things for us here in the U.S. With things like battery life, if you go out and get a ultraslim phone then you should know your battery life will be short. I do alot of off-roading with my Jeep and I stopped bringing my digital camera. I get good pics with my 5310 and I don't have to try and find a safe spot for it in the Jeep. Our phone here come with a 1GB card so be happy with the 2 GB card you get. Most phones today are only meant to last about a year and a half so for that time it worth the money for this phone. And just to stir things up our phones come in blue, orange, and purple. Sorry had to do that. Ove r all I thing this phone is a good buy for the price and the shelve life of most phone today.

i've had this phone since it's been out, to be rather honest its the best phone i've had, i've had a nokia before and i wasn't impressed when the slide broke, i then went off the make. I then had a samsung which i loved, but unfortunatly the screen broke without anything touching it. Nokia's are brilliant escpecially this one, with its sleek design, easy to handle and doesnt feel like a brick, free speakers with it which are brilliant for sound, clear and loud. I wasn't terribly impressed with the camara or battery, but the camara is fine if your in a well light area, just like my 5mg Samsung. The battery is what you expect on a music playing phone, its not going to last long. To conclude, i would advice you to get this phone if you enjoy listening to music, have a busy phoning lifestyle, or jsut need something to be able to carry without looking odd cause of how heavy it is. (: 5stars from me :)

Had this phone for about 3 months and now the screen has died on me. The phone works,and the buttons light up, but that is useless when you can't see anything on the screen! Also experienced freezing, and for some reason, even when the time is set correctly, the replies would be recorded as being received one hour before the actual time received!

The only issue I have with this phone is the 3 plugs that could have been reduced to two! Proprietary data cable when it's nothing but a mini USB plug they intentionally disabled the power on and changed the shape of so you have to buy it from them. The other benefit to them by doing this is they could make you buy their proprietary chagrining cable! So now If I loose the cables or need additional one�s I have to buy a proprietary charging cable, data cable, and car charger when if they would have thought about the consumer they would have wrapped it into one normally mini USB plug because that format is ubiquitous thanks to Motorola. The data cable should charge the phone and it should be a normal plug type. Keep the 3.5mm headphone hack and you have a winner! The only other issue I have is if you have long nails the smooth concaved shape of the middle button is hard to push with a fingernail it seems to slip right off the button. dropped it two starts just because of the plug types!

My phone was good for about 5 months, but now it restarts and freezes, think it may be that i have alot of messages so may try delteing them. but yes good phone would recommend it, although the freezing will get annoying if it happens persisitly. it also take a while to start up.

I bought this phone just three days ago for my lil' sis. Style wise this one's an ultra cool phone. Its slim design makes it a delight to just hold it.Its got most of the features u'd expect at this price, but the 2MP camera's not gud enough. The absence of a flash makes things worse. Unless u have gud lighting, its not of much use.The memory card slot is below the battery, which means u'll hav to switch off the phone,remov the batt,and then change it!Quite irritating!!The speakers r loud enough and the stereo quality through the headphones is good too, but I feel its still not as good as the SE w700i tat i own.The supplied headphones simply suck though, I tested the phone with a pair of in-ear SE headphones. However, the 3.5mm jack should make upgrading to an audiophile grade headphone a lot easier!! Anyways, this is a good buy, unless one of ur top priorities are a gud camera. And the music quality, though miles ahead of others in the nokia range at this price, i s still not THE best. So ultimately, u'll have to weigh ur priorities, and then make a decision.

I have a blue Nokia 5310m model. There is no such freezing problem i have faced yet and the phone is just too good to gaze at. This is a very nice phone launched by nokia in a middle range. 1.)The Screen Quality is superb(16.7 million colours prove it). 2.)The audio Quality is really very very good. Crystal clear(comparable to those SE phones with walkman 2 or 3 player). 3.)Very user-friendly. 4.)Very sleek-superslim design 5.)Loudspeaker is just too loud(now nokia has corrects the ludspeaker problem). 6.)Camera Qualtiy is also very very good. 7.)This phone also has the advantage of showing the call duration (unlike the other nokia phones)i.e. call time while we are on phone and also shows the call summary in the end. 8.)The volume inside headsets is impeccable(very loud and clear). In Short this is a packet which contains all the amenities which the present day generation needs in a much affordable price.

Hi, I have had this phone for a month know and it is excellent the features a re great it might have a 2 megapixel camera but i knew that when i bought it and you can understand its not that high considering its a small phone and slim and the batry last quite a while but small battry less battey life u will get duh !!! screen quality is good for a small phone would recommend to people who like easy simple small phone to use and loves music features on phones

I bought my phone in January... It's been 6 months and it seems like most of the time it has beed in repair. First mp3 rebooted phone than microphone started to make some noizes and now I can't speak to people. I realy like the designd and the fact that is realy slim and has normal plug for headphones, but it's just such a shame that 2 most important thinks are not working.

Just got the Nokia 5310 Xpress music and have fallen out with it as the back is so difficult to get off.Struggled to get it off at first to install battery, now it's fully charged and I want to put my Sim card in can't get the back off! I can see this ending in tears!

This is a great phone. The MP3 player is superb and can certainly be used as an alternative to carrying an iPod. With a 4Gb SD card it can hold up to 1,000 tracks. As with all Nokias it is very easy to use. even with using the MP3 player alot (as I do) the battery life is very good and the phone looks pretty cool too. All in all, the best phone I have ever had!

i have the black and pink version of this phone and its damn sexy! it has not frozen on me at all, the camera is acceptable (if you want amazing pictures buy a digital camera duh!) for those of you who say that the keypad lights dont come on sometimes, its coz it is automatically set on energy saving mode but can be changed easily (just read the instructions guys, its not rocket science!) the music player is awsome and you can plug any headset in which i cudnt do on my samsung d900. i love the quality of the screen and the slim, neat design. all in all it has loadz of great features! wicked little sexy phone!

Excellent phone, I've been using a SE W800i for a couple of years so decided to upgrade and I am well please. Battery lasts 2 days and that is with using the radio and MP3 player for 8 hours each day. Slim and very light weight, volume is good, can't fault it

A superb mobile phone, abousoulty great for music and the mp3 player is awsome. the camera isn't at all bad but it takes very nice pictures (although i dont really take any that much) its a very slim phone which is good because many people might not like bulky phones (i dont anyway) it has a radio, camera, video, mp3 player, bluetooth and everything you want a phone to have, if you want it for just texting and calling or just simply for playing music while you work, i play music on my nokia 5310 like 4 or 5 hours a day and the battery life lasts at least a week or so. SO GET THIS PHONE!!!!! and the price is reseasonable , i got it for 99.95 with a 2GB memory card... not bad :D happy phone hunting!

I've had this fone since December 10th First day I brought it: Kept on Restarting....I don't lyk the MEdia Player. The restarting problem is a big issue! Bad Signal! Especially on T-Mobile. and the fone is terrible all together especially since I jst decided to go bak to Nokia...Going bak to Sony Ericsson now

The battery life is really low. Nokia claims the battery back up to be 18 hours of contineous flow of music... Actually the battery life is only for about 2 hours of contineous music.... Again it does not support installation of Opera Minibrowser... A false claim made by by nokia.... The only advantage is it is ultra thin, looks good, and light weight...

Very stylish and nice phone got loads of features and very light in weight just got 1 problemo with it: have to unlock the phone coz there is O2 pay as you go on it - how should I do that? its very expensive through the Internet and cant trust the Unlock Calculators from the internet. Most shops dont even have the unlock code? HELP!!!!! what should i do

Got the 5310 as a replacement for my old nokia 6111 which was Rubish this is much better brillant games Snake game is 3D very thin and light hasn't turned off itself yet only concern is camera takes pictures too slow and at night time it goes all burly all in all a good phone i recomened it to anyone

Just got this phone about 3 weeks ago and it's just crashed today. I'm afraid to tell dad because he'll kill me so I told my brother. He told me to check the booklet and internet and nothing is working. I'll have to tell dad later and I'd say it's gonna go to be repaired after I get killed. Avoid purchase because I know many have experienced problems similar to this one.

It's a good phone with a good music player, however i think that it could be louder as it no where near competes witht he volumes of sony ericsson walman phones. Also, i used my 5310 in the rain for about 2 minutes and since then it freezes all the time and the battery only lasts about 8 hours. Apart from that it's a good little phone =) x

Got nokia 5310 1 month ago, was ok at first but now constantly freezes up! also have a problem when making calls, I can hear the other person clearly but they have problems hearing me.T mobile were no help either having gone over their 28 day period (by four days), the phone is now basically a paperweight and I am using my old phone (w810i) again. Will never deal with nokia or tmobile again!

The phone is an excellent music phone. Primaraly down to the control buttons and the ear phone input which supports normal earphones. But the main drawback is that the phone will randomly freeze or switch off. If u have a missed call the phone will freeze and you have to take the battery out and put it back in. When this happens you also have to wait for the music library to update again which eliminates the music factor. And sometimes the phone will lag to a unbearable degree. Where u can press a button and 5 seconds later the task will be done. I wouldnt recoment buying the phone unless you can cope with the freezing, lagging, turning off and general erratic behaviour.

My boyfriend has this phone, It's really good with really good memory - can hold about 1000 messages!! He has just had one problem with his - sometimes when listening to music the phone turns itself off and then wont do anything for about 10 minutes. Overall brilliant phone though!

The Music of this phone is great!!! Rightly said "Xpress Music" The only concern is battery life which is about 1-2 days depending upon the use. Camera is okay. Rest all the things are very good. I Loved the sound quality.

I have to have this phone for 2 years :[ Phones don't usually last me 6 months ! I recently upgraded to the 5310 from the SE K800i which I only had for 4 months. I am, so far, pleased with this phone, I got a free 2gb card with it, and so far i have 70 songs, 4 videos, and 20 pictures and i still have 1.6gb left ! The one REALLY annoying thing about this phone is that the sound is shocking, when there are no headphones in, you can barely hear it which is a big let down as it is supposably a music based phone. However when earphones are plugged in a very full loud sound it produced. Texting on this phone is so so easy! Nokias are well known for their easy texting. I also enjoy the games that are on this phone, especially city bloxx, very addictive. The camera is a bit iffy, doesn't even have a flash! The videos only last for 16 seconds a time ! Unless anyone knows how to change it???? The battery life is also crazy its really good and doesn't show any signs of it getting low, then the next day it goes straight down ! It so far has frozen once.. I was listening to music, tried to change the song, and it died. GRR. But yeah nice slim, sl eek design, easy to hold etc. But yeah I recommend this phone. But still miss my Sony Ericsson k800i !

Great phone,but I have encountered the phone freezing at least since I got it 2 days ago. I find it a bit annoying trying to get down the artist sometimes and how theres no search feature.It takes ages =( Other than that its a great phone.

iv had this fone a day and its goin straight back 2 th shop... th bluetooth dnt work, youtube dont work, th music player only works every so often n wen it does it jumps all th time, it freezes 4 bout 5 mins every time i turn it on, th memory card dont work, it lost all my music n photos..i hav nothing good 2 say about th 5310!

this phone is rubbish i thought it would be fixed after i took it to the manufacturer but it froze and restarted on me twice. i think i should buy the 5700 instead as i know it is better. people thinking of buying this dont it is a huge waste of money!

A great disappointment. Have always been pleased with Nokias but this is the exception. Cannot hear person on the other end, cannot hear the phone ringing, switches itself back on again, battery runs down quickly, goodness knows what would happen if I used it to play music!

the phone is quite good, has lots of memory and a god music phone. I LOVE the slim design it can always fit in pockets without giving you the bulky look a brick phone would =P. But the only problem with me is the battery and the freezing =S You could charger your phone ALL NIGHT but after about an hour of use maybe listening to music the phone will immediately get a low battery =[. And the freezing problem is annoying too, it will freeze at least twice a day on my phone when in use quite alot and sometimes the messaging doesn't work. 7/10 ***

I've had various Nokia phones over the last 14yrs and though asthetically pleasing - functionality leaves a lot to be desired. The phone is really robust but the battery lasts less than 48hrs when using the diary aspect and MP3. It has frozen on me a number of times, though when it works it has a very clear sound quality. Camera-nightmare -takes so long to save and then you find you have flinched and it's all bleary. Overall, a good phone but bring on the next better Nokia

i am a big nokia fan but unfortunately this 5310 was a dissapointment..! it keeps on freezing, sound quality is not good, ringing volume is very low (keep on missing important calls).. eventhough the looks are great but thas not enough..!! nokia, pls do better and dont compromise on your quality which u are known for..!!!

I've had a 5300 since x-mas and overall I'm happy with it. The battery life is ok, usually lasting 2-3 days with a lot of use of the music player, which is great by the way thanks to the dedicated keys and the option of using a range of earphones as the jack is standard size. The phone's small, light and attractive due to its simple back-to-basics look and it is very hard wearing, I've dropped mine a few times and it still doesn't have a scratch! Only negative is the camera, although it is 2mp you really need a steady hand as the resolution is not so good and it takes a few seconds for the camera to focus, even then pictures can come out blurry if you so much as twitch! Also, on some occasions (not many) the phone cannot read the memory card, and when on a long phone call I have experienced static shocks when holding the phone to my face (as I say I have dropped it before though so this could be to blame) Overall, a good phone well worth the money, simple to use with a great mp3 player!

I had read bad things about this phone on it crashing etc and not supporting mp3's but this seems to have all been sorted out now, I have had it for about a month and have nothing but good things to say about this phone. The 2GB memory stick is full up with photos and .MP3 files that play great with no crashing. I had a sony Ericson phone before this for years and hated it wishing to return to Nokia and I am glad I did! The main feature I got this phone was for its slim, small, lightweight design and it is that and so much more! Also it looks so sleak!

This handset is a bad one. Seems to be have been released to market with out proper testing and validation. Worst is that, it hangs often. It hanges when a message is received or even for a missed call. Can't even restart-it after it hangs. You have to remove the battery to bring it back. Huge usability issue.

I bought this phone out of no plan to buy it .. just came in to UK a day before that... went to the carphone warehouse.. struck a fantastic deal... got a 2gb memory card and vodafone simcard with unlocked phone for 115 pounds. its a cool fone for music listeners... the headphone is very classy and the pin of the phone can be used for normal walkman and cd players or mpr players also... the battery life is okh....not as expected.. i mean it has a battery life of 2 days once charged fully... (as per my usage if you are an excessive listener then forget it.. everyday charging is a must... the still camera is fantastic... video sucks.. not so clear.. the image quality and resolution have a lot of options.. All in all its a good phone !!

planned to buy this phone but after getting a demo i changed my mind the camera is very slow moving on video mode and the volume is low . i think for its price you should expect a better standard its a great looking phone that's very slim line and only weighs about 70g but if you like to record videos and have a decent volume level this would not be the phone for you

HA HA HA... to all people complaining about not been able to get the SIM card in or out should read the manual and see that you need to get the battery out so the lock of the card is released (security feature). The volume is low all right but it got better when I put my ipod�s headphones instead. I like it so far... But I would recommend the N5610 instead.

Got this phone last week on an orange upgrade and love it. I have the red version and its a well sexy phone and really easy to use. Good size colour screen and easy nokia functions. Really easy to put your music on once the software is on your PC. Just plug in via the supplied USB cable and off you go.!!! Like the fact that i can use some of my fave music as my ringtone.....makes me dance every time it rings...;-) I would recommend this fone.....ok the camera isnt fantascic but who cares.....its a phone and its hot and functional

I recetly canged my handset to the nokia 5310 and i give it 5 stars for the design and feautres BUT when yo get a missed call the phone freezes if it is left for a few mins and the battery has to be removed and it goes back to the normal screen and you can get your missed call when the battery is re-inserted however the battery life then goes right down! the way to resolve this is to go into the settings menu and trn off the sleep mode option in display and the power saver option ever since this the phonw has been fine..BUT still thats not the point and nokia are selling a lot of faulty products at the moment and know of all these faults but yet are not doing anything about it!

Think twice before buying this phone and look at all the issues on the Nokia website. Mines in for second repair after three weeks. Its keypad locks if you miss a call and then it turns itself off after about an hour. When you turn it back on it defaults to 01 01 07. What if you needed to use it in an emergency? Very disappointed!!
