I have had this phone for 2 and a half years now. It is extremly sturdy as i have dropped it on its screen numerous times but it still hasn't broken! It is a great phone for music and its volume level is good. Also the battery level is excellent. However the camera is poor and the phone is large and thick. All in all a great phone

i have had my 5300 for about 2 years now apart from the camera its a great phone i had to replace the screen and that was easy (i shut the phone in the car hatch ) but i found it to be quite a sturdy phone i have droped it a lot of times (fell out of my pocket from appx 32ft)and it still works

I realized some people never review their phones if they work well, because they're too busy being happy with their working-mobile, So this is my quick contribution to the 5300 reviews.. I've had this phone now for the better part of 4 years and only days ago the LCD broke. It's true that you should be careful not to drop this phone but no more than any other; I dropped it a few times over the years and it only ever scratched the screen, barely noticeable. This phone has been great and dependable and well worth buying, the only faults I have noticed after its many years of use are that the battery life drains rather quickly and that's whether you use it as an mp3 or not and the internet coverage isn't the best (but that could just be down to my network) Don't be worried about it breaking, it's a great phone.

had this phone for a couple of years and im sad that im having to get rid, unfortunately its been dropped one to many times recently, this is a great wee phone has everything you really need and is robust enough to take a beating at concerts and come out unharmed. the cameras not the best though

I have this phone for almost two years i hardly used it as i think it was a mistake to buy this phone its feature wise its not too bad but i think nokia made a mistake keeping phone memory to 5 mb some of it is obviously used by the some applications which u cant remove from the phone so when u try to bluetooth a file from other phone and its size is bigger ur phone wont let u do it. I broke my phone screan once so i wont recommend this phone to anyone

Bought this on Ebay. From the start, the speaker would be really loud when the phone would ring when I was calling someone, but then it's like it would quiet itself or something. You have to hold the phone JUST RIGHT to hear people, but putting it on speaker phone is great and nice and loud. Unfortunately, ONE DROP cracked the screen, as seems to be very common w/ this phone. GET A PROTECTIVE CASE of some kind. About a month into it, the charger port stopped working, now if I want to charge my phone, I have to manually push the charger in really hard to get it to charge. Also, the slider part is very loose and this phone is starting to drop calls CONSTANTLY. Be very leary of where you buy this. I bought on ebay for about 80 dollars US and the seller I bought it from is no longer a registered ebay user. The phone is crap but I give 2 stars just for the great volums, it's really loud only when on speakrer. Oh yeah, when sending a text, it's easy to accidentally SEND t he message before your done typing because of the way it is designed.

MY freind owns this model, in my view perfect rubbish. even my SEW200i is way way better. mine gives better bass boost equipped with 'megabass�' and SE bass reflex headset in sales package tho being a very cheap phone. while 5300 is tagged along with 'xpressmusic' u'll b surprised 2 c how slow it works. put just 20 tracks 2 da memory and player will take 50 seconds to load. can u believe that? i'm going to buy a new phone and no way i'll buy a nokia. i'm a music lover and SE WALKMAN series is my recommend. all credits to SE and big fat arse to nokias!

I really like this phone but it brakes easily! First of all my memory card just stopped working, and so did the charger. :/ And the screen brakes really easily too! :@ I got my phone fixed but then same day I got it back three of the buttons hav ejust stopped working! :@ :/

I had this phone and i was quite pleased with it however, it wasn't brilliant. My multimidia messages didn't work and i found that it was very delicate for such a bulky phone. I dropped it on the floor of the coach and that was it. The screen totally broke. My brother also had the same phone and within 3 months his screen was broken completely aswel. Also after i had the phone for about 9 months, it froze often and took a long time to open folders and messages. Overall it was quite good with good games, speakers, space and camera.

Good Points; -Simple To Use -Great Music Player -Personally For Me, It Doesn't Break Easily As I've Dropped It Numerous Times -Slide Is Great Bad Points; -Earphones Are Terrible &+ More Expensive Than Usual Earphones -Camera Isn't Great -Phone Sometimes Malfunctions So These Are The Points For You To See If You Would Like To Buy This Phone. i've had this phone a year now and from the start its given me trouble. it takes ages to turn on, literally about 10 minutes, the microphone and speaker broke fairly soon after i bought it so i have to apply pressure to a certain area to talk to someone or listen to music.the front part is cracked and hangs off occasionally but that's to be expected from a year old phone. im ranting becuase i'm sitting waiting for the phone to turn on the last 20 minutes and it just won't. dont't get it, you'll hate it.

I've had this phone for a year. I'm going on my third one. Had the first one for a year and then the speaker died. Got and new one and now 2 weeks later the led or pixalation part is cracked in 2 different places. I would recommend this to a music lover. This phone is a lot louder then my boyfriends Iphone and Ipod.

i have had this phone for one year exactly now,and i hav loved it but all i did was try to listen to my music and the speaker wasnt working. lots of people have had this same problem and i wouldnt recommend this phone because every phone must have a fault with the speakers after you have had it.

I HAVE HAD THIS FONE FOR ABOUT A YEAR. ITS GOOD. THE BLUETOOTH ALLOWS YOU TO GET LOADSS OF THEMES. GAMES R OK (YOU CAN SEND MORE BY BLUETTOOTH) BUT MINES MASHED UP. Though Nokia 5300 supports only .jar files and does not support .sis or .rar files after all it a good mobile phone. Specially the camera, Music Player, Internet Browsing are outstanding.

I've had this phone for over a year and it has proven to be one of the best phones i've ever had. To this day, i've had no problems whatsoever. Battery life is good. Does verything you need of a cheap music camera phone. It is important to note though, that i am a very careful phone user and haven't dropped it or anything.

Its old now but its good its like an mp4 player they only thing thats bad about it is its battery life it just goes really quick but if u have a memory card for it and put good songs and vids on it its brillant. And u can use it with out a sim card u just won't be able to call anybody and stuff obviously lol but seriosly it would be 1 hell of a phone if it had a really long battery life

I loved my phone at the beguining but after a month, the speaker broke, the phone turns off by it self, i have to recharge it twice a day, and I am very dissapointed, I have always beena nokia fan but now I am considering a sony, dont buy it, not worth the money.

i have had this phone for almost a year now and i am very pleased with it. i love the feel of a slide phone and it has all then features i would want in a phone. to the people who are saying it breaks easily i strongly disagree, i have found this phone holds up very well and i am not exactly the most careful person when in comes to my phone,i have dropped it alot of times and it is still fine. i have this phone in purple, i like it because it feels a bit more personalized and no one else has a purple phone. the only thing i negative i would have to say about this phone is that it is rather thick, however it has very good grip. unfourtunatly i recently dropped it in a lake and although it still works some of the buttons are frozen. if my next phone is as good as this one i will be very pleased.

i have this phone and its tight. the only problem i have is that i cracked my screen twice which cost me $150.00 to fix both times, the loud speaker blew twice which cost $20.00 to fix and now i think my antenna is broke cus i get no reception at all, and the only store that can fix it closed down and the closes one is 75 miles away. but other than that its a good phone. but the best thing is that your able to download music videos and even full movies.

I have i nokia 5300 its a good phone but the headphones don't last very long i am on my second pair and they are already apart from that i have had no problems (Until i tried 2 change my cover and the shop sold me a dodgy 1) and the camera is fine its like a 2MP camera and its beter than my bros W810i

ive had this fon 4 a year and a half now..and ive got no complaints whatsoever..evrythngs cool..image quality is good..even better than the 6280(2mp cam)..sound quality was quite decent especially in hollowed places..it doesnt feel cheap at all..oh,and my 5300 dropped over 50 times and da screen didnt break,neither did anything(except 4 the scratch)but its nothing serious 2 me..overall..i love this fon and im not about to change it unless im really tired of using it all over..thanks to nokia,i have my dream fon alive for years

The phone was brilliant ... while it lasted but now the memoery card is broken its very slow and to turn it off i have to take out the battery it also takes ages to turn on... so yeah you have to be VERY careful with it the stuff on the phone is great i also found it had poor signal. So if you do get it make sure you're careful with it cause its great when its not broken!

DO NOT BUY - design fault with screens means they crack & fail after a few months. Vendors will not replace them they say you broke it by mishandling. Not true see google its a design fault which is why its been withdrawn & was sold cheaply to get rid of it. Poor soumd & low light camera. If it breaks ask for money back in UK under Sale of Goods act 2002. Zero star.

i have had my nokia 5300 for about 6 months and i could say that i am a satisfied user. although the headset that came in with the package is not that excellent (the sound quality is greatly reduced by background noises i.e. when riding on a bus or walking on a busy street), i've switched to the regular-sized 3.5mm headphones. the camera does not have flash or led so i also have trouble taking pictures at night. but the screen resolution is great. photos taken with ample light, and videos converted to 3gp or mp4 are excellent. very nice colors. also, games are readily available on the web without fear of downloading a virus because it is java based. twice i slept with this phone under me (once with the slide open) but it did not break. i also dropped it, face down, but it did not also break. there are scratches on the screen but i guess it boild down to how a user takes care of his phone. all-in-all, i say that nokia 5300 is an excellent buy! for a phone within its price range, i'd recommend it over other walkman phones.

This is a wicked fone i <3 it its got high volume and its quite trendy.The music player is good and the phone altogether is very reliable. The only bad thing is that the cameras not great and when you apply a theme it some times doesn't work but if u try it 5 mins later its fine lol. i got mine cheap an their great value for money! have to wonder how many reviewers on this site get the phone out of the box and write a review within a week saying how outstandingly good it is. the camera is reasonable; it's got a nice loud speaker; the annoying issue with the keylock can be fixed by customising it once you figure out how (try reading the manual)HOWEVER (1) the coils in the headphones burnt out after about 2 months of use :-( and (2) having had this phone for about 6 months the music player software developed some kind of glitch. i updated the software thinking this would remedy it, now when i try to use music player it just crashes completely. the nokia website makes no mention of this issue. there are many questions on their forum asking how to remedy it but no constructive replies. as i had the phone unlocked it is no longer under warantee.... in any case, 2 months after the music player issue developed the screen is malfunctioning (colours all bleached out/no red)... so i think now i'll be selling it for spares or repair. bear in mind i was previously the proud owner of a nokia 3310 which lasted me for years. i'm not one of these people who buys a new phone every year and even if i was, well, this ain't even lasted a full year. disappointed.

Had my 5300 for about a year now and i must say it isn't half bad. My previous phone was a LG KG800 which is nothing but a pretty piece of plastic w/ number dials on it. The 5300 is definitely not the prettiest phone, but its actually designed very nicely. The slide mechanism is extremely smooth, the keypad is very easy to use, and the side buttons are very convenient for quick music play. On the other hand, the batteries lasted only a day and a half, the phone will not auto-lock after you slide it back(VERY VERY ANNOYING), and it only has a 2.5mm jack which to me defeats the purpose of it being an XpressMusic phone. Never the less, i do like this phone better than my old LG.

Had this phone for nine months. The loud speaker stopped working, the camera is not so good and the keys keep sticking. For it's price range an ok phone but really be careful with it if you plan to get one.

Good phone. Nice to use, especially for the music. Had this phone for the last four months. Now all of a sudden, the phone has stopped ringing. The speaker goes off in the middle of songs. Don't know if the speakers are not good. So, watchout for those speakers and be ready get an insurance for this phone...Otherthan that, everything seems to be fine...

This phone is absolutely rubbish.All Nokia 5300 phones should be taken of the shelves in shops and crushed. This is the second one my daughter has had in 12 months and both screens went.T Mobile sent the second one away but will not repair it as they say that it has been dropped.It was not dropped the screen started to freeze and then just went blank as my daughter was listening to her music.It seem's to be a trend of T Mobiles to use the dropped excuse as I have read in other forums.There is not a mark on this phone at all, so how can they insinuate that it has been dropped? T Mobile's customer service is absolutely disgusting.Never mind I will just get back in touch with Consumer Direct for the second time and I suggest everyone else should who have had poor dealings with T Mobile. All you people who think this is a great phone beware, it will easily break in the end and don't expect any customer service from Nokia and especially T Mobile! Nokia should be making phones of more durability and not blame consumers for their mistakes!!!!

Looks great..Sounds great..Camera is great.. Only fault is the LCD screen as other people have said..some people have disagreed with things that people are saying and intending they're just careless people I am a very careful person when it comes to alot of things..including phones..and my LCD screen cracked for no reason what so ever I've read over reviews saying they didn't sit on it or even drop it..and that's the same for me With the amount of people saying about their LCD screen cracking..I genuinly think it is a fault in this brand/make of phone alone Otherwise great.. I own the black version..I do not like white phones..they come across tacky looking to me..but the black is all well..otherwise i wouldn't have chosen it :]

My nokia 5300 XpressMusic is much easier to use than my previous phone which is a samsung E900. The size of the phone in my opinion is quite chunky. The camera details are poor. Theres is no point in having 8x zoom as it distorts the image at 4x zoom.On a more positive note i would say the layout of the menu etc, is very spread out. easy to use. Howeverr if i was to trial the phone before buying it, i wouldnt choose to buy it. simply because ... 1> Low spec 2> no actual phone memory (relys on memory card) 3> Too chunky 4> nothing 'Pizazz' About it. Its just an average phone. i wouldnt reccomend it. unless you just want a phone for basic use.

I would not recommend this phone. It's a really great phone, if you happen to get one that doesn't break, but as far as I can figure, it's a faulty phone. A few months after getting it, some of the buttons on the front of the phone decided to literally randomly stop working. Hadn't dropped it or gotten it wet, they just died. It had a warranty, so I got it replaced, and now the replacement phone has done the EXACT same thing, only a few months in, and I am getting ANOTHER replacement phone for it. If it dies again after the warranty is up, I'm just going to cut my losses and upgrade to a different phone, it's not worth it for a phone that becomes useless every 3 or 4 months. Other than that though, I really enjoy the music, the camera works well enough, though it takes really poor pictures in anything but true sunlight, and it has a nice layout and design. Good phone, when it's working correctly, and you remember to charge it every night because the battery life really does suck.

I recently purchased the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone, I think its a great phone, a great phone for music. I am still worried about the very small space on my memory car, it is only 234mb. Which is very small for quite a few songs, I was just wondering if it is possible to expand the memory, if it is could someone tell me how. Overall great phone.

I love my 5300. Its a nice mid range phone that gives u everything. It just lacks battery backup. U can litsen to music upto 18 hrs. Internt speed goes upto 20 KB/S (gprs). Nice phone

I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago and starting to lose faith in it. I have encounter both bad outweighing the good. It is easy to use, comfortable tone pad and the music level is excellent, crackly if too loud, but difficulty encountered in downloading from a notebook. The camera is temperamental (one min it takes good pictures, another grainy), difficulty retrieving files saved on my old SIM but the thing that worries me the most is its frailty as the first day using the phone closed, the top slide moves to the left side upon pressing the right buttons. after taking it back, I was advised that is normal. I am thinking of getting my refund as im not comfortable with it given the other complaints heard. Think i'll trade for a samsung j700 (samsung all the way).

so far so good, i love the slider type. the only thing im refraining from now is seeing how reviewers says it breaks easily. Better buy some insurance! this isnt a cheap phone at retail price! anyways all of the features seem to be pretty cool so far. this is the first phone ive ever had that has a music player like an mp3! thats gonna save me from having to hold and mp3 player AND phone, when i go work out at the gym. This phone is all around awesome. Still somethings to work on it, like internet and getting hi-fi ringers asap! cant wait!

This phone has given me nothing but trouble since I bought it a few months ago. It went back for repairs twice within the first 2 months. It was ok for a while, but now it keeps turning off everytime I flip the phone up or down. The battery life is awful - lasts about a day. Def don't buy this phone!

This phone is just brilliant. The screen is the best quality screen (240X320) you can get for it's current price (�49.99). The 5300 has a great camera, the pics you take look great on the screen, the MP3 Player is flwless, and the phone looks great. This is my favourite phone put of all the phones I have owned, i can definately reccomend it.

It's a nice phone, but it's as fat as a 2 weeks old milk. The display is okay large, but it's wournable, my one is damaged on the lcd screen so i can only see the upper part of the screen. It's a great starter phone, easy to use and all that, but the Shell is hard to open. buy it if you need a sellphone right here and right now

I got this phone like 5 months ago and I absoloutly loved it! I had the loudest phone out of all my friends and it had loads of good features, but recently my bag was on the floor and someone stood on it, and when I got my phone out the screen was all cracked and wouldn't turn on properly :( I'm so gutted. I want my old phone back!

I have had this phone for 6 months now and it has been brilliant. Although not quite as loud as the walkman phones, it is still louder than any of my friend. The only problem I have had with it is that it doesnt react well to water. My old 6230i was really good at working after being dropped in a river but the 5300 reacts to the smallest drop and u have to take it apart and put it in a warm place.

Well I bought this phone a month ago and i must say its a gr8 buy at this particular price range.It comes with great features and nice dedicated keys. The sound is good but could have been better.The camera is quite clear at substantial light and comes up with a perfect image.The zoom quality is disappointing.The screen is large which is an asset of the phone.Surely its a perfect buy for those who are looking for a music phone which comes in a low price range.So go xpress music way

i have recently bought the phone and liked it.The camera works brilliant in the daylight and gives poor quality image in artificial lighting. The music player is simply brilliant and functional.One thing which i didn't like is it's screen light time is not adjustable and even when u change song or radio station using music keys the light glows and takes a minute to switch off thus consumes battery uselessly. All other things are quite fine about the phone.

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE. The screen breaks really easily and they don't let you return it. Other than the screen breakage it's a well specced phone and i liked it a lot until the screen went. However, never buy this phone. It is not fit for purpose and i wasted 50 quid on it.

This phone Belonged to one of my best friends Kelly, and I kept asking if I could listen to her music on there because its got good memory for music, but she sat on it and cracked the screen, then she was holding onto it and dropped it from two storeys and the whole screen cracked, but I recommend this phone, its amazing but you might need to clean out the camera now and again, its annoying because ive got a Sony Ericson and its only got Infer Red, but this phone has Bluetooth and Infer red so she could send pictures and songs to me, I Defiantly recommend this phone as its the best phone ever. This phone is outstanding!

i love this phone, its great for litening to music but the camera is a bit cramp but its better than my last phone a samsung D900i as it broke after 6 months as the screen cracked right across it and it would have cost me �70+ like i can afford that might as well get a new phone.

ok, well i am not going to say that this is the best phone ever, but i will say this. what are all you people doing to this phone? all i see is 90% of everyone saying their screen broke. some say it breaks over and over! i don't get it. i've had this phone since march of '07 and nothing has ever broke on it. true, it does have some technical flaws, but people saying the screen broke in their pocket? b.s.! unless they had ballbearings in their pockets and decided to go jogging maybe then i'll consider that. it is an ok phone, but not rubbish like a lot of you are saying.

hi everyone well i,v had this phone for bout few months now,went on holiday camping with family and had phone in bag and bro sat on bag so screen on phone cracked,went to shop and they charged me 45� to repair it fair enough well phone is 80� to but so i just bort it again did not wana wait,the phones great,cams much better then all my other nokias,vids lush,mp3 is lush have about 400 songs on the memory card,cool,downloaded sum cool games for phone,everythin on and in phone is just pefect so all you people out there who says that this phones rubbish then you dont treat ya phone with any respect do ya?well if you wanted to buy a good phone and wana spent nearly 100� on it then this babys for you,great phone,i,v had loads of mobiles but this one is fantastic it is just so smooth,cool

I have had this phone since February, i got it because my friends had it and i really liked it. i wish i'd never bought it, it drives me mad - cameras rubbish, says memory card (1G) is full and it shouldnt be, and the battery is rubbish. i hate this phone and also Nokia,and i have decided to go back to samsung, which is the make of the phone that i had before!!

bought this phone about a year ago, and recently it has broke. i know at least 3 other people who have had this phone and theirs broke within weeks. but mine only lasted so long because i could only use it occasionaly, thanks to the shoddy chargers that come with it, which i had to keep replacing. GOOD POINTS - the mp3 player is pretty cool and the headphone socket and adaptor allow you to connect different headphones to it, as well as connect it to a stereo system - the camera quality is pretty good considering it doesnt have a flash. - you can view downloaded images very well and very clearly - the buttons are very easy to use and the software that comes with it is very good BAD POINTS - the screen seemed to get scratched very easily without actually doing anything to it - the video camera is not very good at all. especially for filming live music, where the sound is so poor that it doesnt even resemble music - considering the price i originally paid for it (�130) this phone is too average for the price range. i can think of a lot better phones for less money - this phone is very weak. after having it in my pocket one day somehow the silver plastic at the top of the screen cracked and came off, with no force at all - if youre using this phone outdoors, better hope it doesnt rain coz it gets water damaged in an instant, even the slightest drop of rain can mess it up - the charger that comes with this phone is appalling. really thin and weak. the little plug surprisingly never snapped, but after a while the charger just decides to stop working. i had to buy at least 5 replacement chargers for this phone, which at �10 a time is not good at all - battery life is very very short - if youre lucky enough to make this phone last more than a few months, it gradually gets slower and slower, especially when switching it on - and finally after just under a year of use, the screen messed up. not cracked or anything, it gradually gave up. first the image started to fade, then it started to flicker, then the screen just went blank, and only came back when i pushed the screen down with my fingers. then it just completely died, tried everything i could to bring it back, with no success. got pissed off with it, threw it on the floor and it shattered incredibly easily. overall....... dont buy this phone. its overpriced, its weak, it isnt anything special, and its obvious that Nokia have started making overpriced phones like this so they mess up and people have to keep buying new ones at least every year.

I dont hav this phone bt i work at phone store and the reason it breakz fast iz becuz itz a slider the ribbon on the inside rubz on wut itz sliding on and it breakz so the scren goez out the sound goez out and the buttons stop workn it shouldnt cost mor then 50 bucks to get it fixd if itz mor ur getn ripd off i would recomend dnt slide it if u dnt need to use the numberz

I have this phone 8 months now.No complaints about breaking easy.It is a good phone but i have trouble with the volume on it and i have trouble with the memory.Like when i put songs onto it from my PC its always a bit difficult but it is a good phone other than that.

I really like this phone I have had it for a few months now and still I don't get bored of it. Usually i get bored of phones in the 1st month but this is amazing the only down side is the camera which isn't a high resolution as most other phones, but the music at the touch of a button is a big plus to the phone cheap�affordable�amazing

i noticed that the slide was a bit loose and flimsy but altogether it is a brilliant phone and will be expecting a better version of this phone soon onwards.I think the review at the top is a eczaduation it does not hold 1,500 songs with a 2gb memory card, u have to hav a 4gb memory card, the camera is rubbish and i used to have a sony ericcson w810i it had a way better camera and a flash. i think this phone is absolute rubbish when you compare it to the nokia's N95 which is the best of the nokia brands.BYE :@ p.s this fone is not worth �50.00 so evry1 take notice of wat i hav sed!!!

i have had my phone for about 9 months-ish. i love the phone but i hate it so much. i text so much the vibrate broke down like after a month or two. and just recently the buttons on the front (send, end, okay, up down left right, and the top two buttons) wore out. so i can't do anything. and ever since i got it every time i drop it it says "sim card registration failed" because the way this was built it is like loose.

I bought a Nokia 5300 Xpress Music In January. It worked perfectly for the first 2 months then I have had it back to the shop and ultimately back to the manufacturer 3 times! First time it wasnt charging... sent it away and it died moments after I worked out of the shop(LITERALLY) then it was sent away again and I recieved a Supposive New handset..... last 18 hours put it on the charger and wouldnt charge so it is back again being repaired again..... I may have just had a run of bad luck, but I personally would be reluctant to purchase this phone again!

The worst phone. The LCD cracked, not the outer cover the inside. It was in my pocket. Nokia said that was my fault will not honor warranty. The phone was never dropped ,no scratches, etc.

HI let me start off by saying,im a sony fan.im also a fan of the sony walkman range to,except for one problem with walkman phones!they are just not loud enough for my likeing?which is why i now have bought the nokia 5300 music phone.it is very loud!but in order to get the best out of it you need to buy a decent pair of head phones for it!the standard ones that come with it are rubbish!the phone is a lot louder than sonys ones!music quaility is better to,though the radio part lets it down!it seems the power is just in the main music part of the phone! Your mp3 player part.the radio is not loud enough for me where as on sonys it is.but hey i like listening to my own music more anyways.so no big deal.the camera is simple.nothin to rave about but at least its not bad?though i cant work out why they never added a flash to it?wheres the logic in that?

well i bourght this phone in november work ok till xmas than screen cracked for no reason and i had bearly used it so 4 months with use i get a screen from ebay today and fitted it it when on ok and worked ok apart from the play button on side so i took off the cover messed around with it put the case back on ,the screen fashed and whent black and now wont work so i put the brokern screen back in and that wont work now so all in all it cost me �120 with a new screen and 1gig card for a phone that is complete rubbish and bad design ....NOKIA SORT IT OUT ... NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS AND SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE AS WELL ... DONT BUY NOKIA....!

ok. I paid �39.99 for this phone. Replaced the most excellent sony ericsson k800i, as it was, ahem, purloined by my girlfriend. So lets see, yes the camera is pretty basic, but not bad for a 1.3 megapixel camera. The mp3 player is of a good standard. Yes, replace the headphones. Will make a difference. The screen has not yet been broken, despite being dropped several times. Easy to use menu even for a non Nokia buff. Good points - ok camera, good mp3 player, fairly robust phone, compatible with bluetooth headsets, headphones, laptops etc. Fairly good battery life. With normal calls/music etc about 2.5 days. Software package very good. Also works well as laptop modem. Tried it.....good download speeds. This is a cheap and cheerful.Dont deny when was �100 plus, not the best, but as a fairly basic phone (by 2008 standards) for the money you will struggle to do better. If you want an outstanding phone go pay �200+. If you want a good phone that looks cool, and performs more than adequately, the 5300 is up there.

i got the nokia 5300 in november and it is now april, and i have found it to be a complete dissapointment, after a few days the slider gets really loose, so you have to leave it unti it hardens up, dust gets behind the screen from each of the corners so you get a bad quality screen, it cant open 3gp videos that other people have sent you, the bluetooth wouldnt recieve files, and then the screen starts to snap off, the battery lasts for a maximum of 5 days when you are not using it and 1 day if you listen to music, the camera isnt very good but im not bothered about that, all i can say is nokia are trying to make money now becuase really old phones from the 90's still work, it just shows that modern phones werent made to last.

I love the phone, don't get me wrong. But it has it's faults. I've had it for a week now. To begin with, the music quality is good, the camera is not half bad, but if you're fidgety about the small stuff, it's not the best phone. My screen keeps flickering when I press the buttons.It's driving me insane. It's not intense flickering, but it happens. It also feel fragile and shaky, unstable even. Reading other reviews, I'm terrified of breaking it. And I am a very protective person, but it's just too fragile for my taste.

DO NOT BUY!!!! this phone is not worth buying. the music quality is bad trhough the back speaker, mine broke 2 times.(i have to hit it against something to get it to work, yes that also meens i have to keep the phone on vibrate becuase i cant count on the speaker to work.) like other people have said, the buttons stop working but you just have to pop them out and push them back in. i have had 2 of these phones(i am waiting on my waiting on my third) the lcd screens are AWFUL and i meen it. the first time, i put it in my pocket, i take it out 5 minutes later and a piece of the plastic is completely missing from the screen. the second time, i put my phone on my desk at school to show a friend and the screen starts flashing then from the bottem of the screen, blackness started coming up, it lookedlike someone was burning the inside of my phone and now the screen does not work at all.i do not recomend thsi phone for anybody. the only reason i was able to give this phon e 1 star was becuas all you have to do is pay 5 dollers for shipping and then nokia will send you a new phone if it is not fixible. if it is fixible they will charge you a HUGE amount of money on fixing it and you are better off telling them to just throw it away and you will by a new one!!!!! DO NOT BUY, NOKIA HAS LET ME DOWN!!!!

great functions on the inside, and a usual easy to use nokia menu system. perfect sized phone for your hand, but feels cheapy. the screen cover is a magnet for scratches and the actual lcd cracked without any contact at all. put the phone in my pocket, was sitting down for 50 minutes watching tv, take it out and the LCD is cracked! phone up nokia, and its �55 to fix, same with t-mobile and the carphone warehouse. so basically, great phone let down by cheap hardware.

i got this phone on my birthday 2 months ago and i am getting a new one already =O. me and my friend were recording a video once and it just froze so i had to take the battery out to get it working again. the mp3 is ok, but the battery life is BAD :(. i charged it up for four hours once, and the nxt day [and i switch it off at night] the battery was low. i had 2 delete most of the stuff on my phone because i couldnt send txts or receive any because the memory was full. overall its an ok phone but im certianly not keen on nokias.

in my opinion this is a great phone. I am a VERY clumsy person and i've dropped my phone countless times. The screen has never broken but i have chipped the corner of the cover (and in all fairness i did stand on it!) lol. The music quality through headphones is awesome. Great value for money.

I got this phone last christmas, and I love it. My only complaint is that there is no flash on the camera, and it goes fuzzy when you zoom in. Other than that, it's perfect. Most phones don't play my type of music very well as it is very guitar/drum heavy, but the 5300 plays it better than my laptop! Yeah, there's a few scratches on my screen.. that's because i've been carless with it and dropped it a few times.

If u listen to music with the headphones that's provided,the quality doesn't comes that good.I am using N70 Music Edition headphones with the adaptor in my 5300 and the music quality is simply SUPERB...and it's been a year i am using this phone,i dropped it quite a lot of times but nothing happened !!!!!

Meh. Its okay, i find getting the cover off a bit silly, and getting the sim card out hurts my nails xP Over all, i'd say about 3/5 due to the fact that i have dust under my screen, and the cover/sim thingy above.

Hiyyah my name is abbey...and i have this phone at the moment and i have to tell you i HATE it! If your looking for a phone just for messaging and calling people then yes its fine. But.. If you want it to have music and pictures and games and so on...This is not the phone for you! The camera is not so good and the memory is rubbish..you can have say.15 pictures and 2 songs and then your memory is gone! The battery life is satisfactory but still i would not buy this phone if i was you..i made a big mistake buying it dont do the same as me. x x x

i love my phone!and its true what they say, you do need to take care of it.i dropped mine within a week of getting it and cracked the screen in the corner but i can live with that, and i usually drop my phone atleast once a day and thats the only damage it has recieved other than a few scrathces. the only probllem is the music program they give you with it, it is rather slow and sometimes crashes.

Wow. This phone is great, the camera is really good considering its a 1.3 mp Music quality is great, mp3 player easy to organise and i got a 512 memory card =] Ive had the phone for 6 months and i dont even have a scratch on it so all the people who say 'The screen just cracks' i doubt very much that it gets damaged on its own accord! i got this fone a few months ago..it is good..especially if you like playing music on ur phone...only things wrong are its very chunky and quite big...and i also have problems with the network signal sometimes and have to keep switching it on and off...im going to get the samsung d900 wich is more slimmer and looks better.

Hi, I just recommend that if someone ever got chance to buy this phone then don't lose it.Because it has everything that u can expect from Music Player.if u use a Good Quality(Nokia Bluetooth headset BH-501) its Sound Quality, Awesome...! . Besides that it has all features that a mobile should have. Fairly saying I've no complain with this phone.

this phone is great, ive had for about 6 months now and nothing has gone wrong with it. no scratches on screen even though its been dropped a couple of times, i would totally recomend this phone to anyone, and also i think the battery life is great can go about 5 days without charging it and thats including using music player and recieving phone calls. so overall great phone =)

People are always saying it breaks easily. What the heck are you coing with it? All phones break if you drop them hard. No major faults. Camera not perfect, but you know that before you buy it. I love it.

A year ago, I dropped the phone on the pavement and then into a bathtub. The thin-as-an-eggshell casing cracked, the camera -could not be fixed- and the speakers went dead. So I upgraded to Windows Mobile 5, then 6, then Linux phones. Now I am rediscovering the 5300, because it has great features built in: video ringtones, endless possibilities for great themes, flash lite 2.0/slides/videoclips wallpapers and screensavers, T9 prediction that outsmarts any QWERTY touchscreen phone. (Are all Nokia phones this good?) Of course it is outdated. Oldfashioned music player, no album art, browser is sluggish (no IE). You'll love it!! Just don't drop it.

Please don't buy this phone it's rubbish. My screen has cracked after 2 weeks and nokia have just told me that i have broken it by putting too much pressure on it. I have only had it in my bag / pocket so please be aware!! They said repair will cost �60 - �70. The stupid phone was only �50!

i asked 4 this fone xmas i got it & thort it wuz ace i read the reveiws 2 weeks after and thort wat a mistake so 2.5 months later i have the most common fault of the 5300 the pressure crack screen itll cost �30 to replace and is only �50 for a new one NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL

BRILLIANT phone...only flaw..screen gets dusty inside but is easy to clean as the cover can easily be taken off..also screen scratches very easily.battery is not too good either but otherwise funtions very well and easy to use.no complications...simple and perfect for music lovers..5/5

I LOVE this phone, but it fell on the floor. :( I can still use the phone, and hear the ringtones and stuff, but i cant see the screen. It isnt cracked or broken. I think a chip came out or something. I called the Tmoblie people and they were no help. Grrr. So my dads attemping to fix it. I hope he can do it. I love this phone.

Nokia 5300 is an excellent phone - I read where some fools are calling the phone 'rubbish' whatever that means - no the faceplate doesn't fall off, no the number 8 isn't missing - no predictive text isn't junk - first learn how to use a cell phone,read the book, no the camera lens doesn't fall off...don't drop it on the ground idiot for the screen to crack, no the calls aren't noisy ...and of course you have to pay your monthly bill in order for the features to work. And finally get off the booze you drunks and get a life...before you start trashing a compamy's product read the book carefully and you will quickly see where the problem lies...YOU.

I have had this phone for 20 days and there is NO damage at all to the outside of the screen and one day i whipped it out of my pocket and the screen had a black portion in the bottom right corner and the rest of the screen was covered in blue lines. So i couldn't return it because it was my fault apparently. It's either a manufacturing fault or either a ridiculously weak phone. Either way, it's a piece of rubbish. Don't buy. It is however a decent phone when the screen does work.

i love this phone! its save you buying and ipod ontop of a phone!, that if you love your music. this phoen has only 1 fault, the battery, but even still out it on charge every night, and your problem solved! i realy get along with this phone, i love taking picture and it has a great camara, i love listening the my music, it has great a sound system and an amazing volume, it even has skip ( back and forward),play/pause and voloume buttons on the side! its come with a memory card wich it even better! i realy do recamend this phone to anyone out there who loves music and loves taking picturs! and it gets better, it is great fast bluetooth! and even has usb! its the best phone i have had in my life, and i dont think nothing can beat it for some time .. thnxs to the nokia company! emily xxx

i recently got this phone, and so far is fab! i love it soo much! its was quit cheap for the great quality! i wouldnt choose no otehr phone, great camara, great built in speaker, and i adore the play and skip buttons on the side! the only bad point of veiw is that the batery isnt that great, aslong as you put it on charge every night there no problem! its save ypou buying and ipod on top of a phone! its a fab phone and i realy advise you get it! its got some good insurence offers aswell! from droping my old phone in water, i realy glad they actualy offerd me insurance! as i said, the only fault is the batery but even still put in charge every night, and your problems are solved and its a perfect phone

I love my phone, take it with me to the gym at least 5 times a week. The battery life is good, the mp3 player is great. The camera takes good pictures for it being a phone. Have had it for just over a year now.

i am a blind fan of nokia's. among all the nokia phones i had, i am holding nokia 5300 with the highest esteem ever. yes, it does not support any talks software because it is not a symbian phone; but that, notwithstanding, stands as the best phone for me. the keys are separable for me to identify any number i am dialling. with the help of a sighted person, i can now use it to send text messages. i look forward to being able to download music to accord me the prerogative of listening to any music of my choice. i also look forward to being able to turn on its fm stereo. my nokia 5300 has been dropping unintentionally, but when i pick it up, i do not find anything wrong with it. so, i recommend this phone for any interesting buyer -- blind or able-bodied. well done, nokia.

I had this fone for just under a year bfore switching phones. It broke within a few days, responded slowly and started to annoy me. the days bfore i finally got rid of it the screen would go comepletely blank whenever i slide it up, it felt as tho the sliding part could fall off quite easily, and the casing is not very solid. if u are a careful person this could be a gd fone, but for the clumsy i wudnt spend the money! x

At first this phone was pretty great ..aside from it's not so fantastic batt life. After 3-4 months with it...i'm not so sure. You have to treat this phone like it's delicate gold. My friend and i have the same phone and the thing is like designed to stop working at the same time or something! She mentioned to me last week that she had to get a new phone because hers keeps freezing and the buttons just stop working. I figured she must have NOT been taking care of her phone or something, then a few days later the same EXACT thing started to occur to me! My sister has this phone as well... she dropped it 2 and the speaker stopped working.

Wow I was hoping to get this phone for christmas and I did. I got it in black and i love it, the screen has great quality and although the camera is only 1.3 meagapixels the quality is much better than my friends 1.3 mp camera on their phone, music is great and its awesome that I can just flick one of the music buttons and change it. I really would recommend this to everyone!

I can't be more dissapointed with this phone, it is actually the only one that made me so many problems. After two months of use the microphone suddenly and unexplicably stopped working, so the only way to be heard is using the hands free. It was sent to the technical service and they said it was repaired but still have the same problem. I found in internet that I'm not the only one, actually there are many people complaining about the same situation. I'm still waiting the mobile to be repaired for the 2nd time. I wrote even to Nokia and apparently they don't know the solution. I thinks is a faulty production, and the store (Phones4you, in UK) has the worst customer service ever, even in my country (Peru) I receive far a better service.

My ddaughter and both upgraded to this phone, hers worked okay until the screen broke; I've nothing but trouble with mine, firstly it locked and it took Nokia 4 weeks to sort and now it freezes all the time, I gave up with it and went back to my old Motorola V3. Wouldn't get another one although my daughter loved to use hers as an MP3 player.

I acctually really love this phone. It's my first. I'm twelve lol. I really like it but the screen is all scratched up and like at the top theres this white thing that you can push down and ... I don't know what the point of that is. I also wanna get a memory card I looked over my whole entire phone and never saw a place to put it! Seriously where does the memory card go? Plus can you put your usb onto the phone into your computer then open up your phones files go onto limewire copy a song from it paste it onto the file of your phone then like listen to your song on the phone? I tried that but I need a memory card which I will get but..I don't know where to get it. So yea I like the phone it's cool. Oh and one more thing the sides of it are like coming apart the purple plastic and the white plastic. Annoying.

This phone is quite strong and sturdy in my opinion - my brother has had one for a while now, and I must say it's good for what you pay for one. However, the layout is completely confusing, good luck finding your way to the inbox or anything. It is a good music phone though, nice and loud. Looks ok, a bit chunky though. I would recommend this phone as a basic upgrade from a flip phone - you will probably like it.

My nokia 5300 xpressmusic set doesn't have fm radio feature.Batteries down frequently. Talking time is shorter than normal. Other features are good and still learning to operate it's function and features. Thanks !

amazin fone.....jus lov it .it has a really good mp3 player and sound quality via speakers is quite clear and loud....camera is not too bad although it gives a poor night mode photo..the music keys are so dependable..the only bad thing is tht the music organization in the fone is utter rubbish..

I got this phone a year ago.It's camera clarity is good. The music player works good and gives you the ability to fast forward music.I also have a SE K700i which i have been using since last 3 years and I can comfortably say the music quality (on earphones) is way better than the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone. The music quality of Nokia 5300 is good but not excellent. Also the phone hangs sometime. The phone scores on the keypad and screen size and resolution. In all, it has enough features to keep you interested and the phone comes at a reasonable rate. So buy it only if you have budget constraints else if you are looking for a good quality music phone go for any SE Walkman phone.

Have had this phone on contract for 1 year and can't wait to get shot of it! Predictive text is rubbish - never saves new words. Menu's are long-winded. However, I have had no problems with screen breaking and seems quite a sturdy phone to me.

If aesthetics is your thing.. its not great. its quite "fat" . the screen quality is clear and bright, the basic telephony/text functions are a clear and a breeze. build quality is quite poor not only by nokia's usually bulletproof standards but even by the "buy a sim and get a phone free" PAYG efforts from your local supermarket. it really is that poor. I had a replacement screen ordered from a trader on ebay within 2 days of buying it.. because according to carphone warehouse and nokia themselves... "it's not designed to go in your jeans pocket". Anyone who has the intention of actually USING the phone on a daily basis.. beware.. nokia is fully aware that this phone is not rugged enough for your usual teenager.. let alon myself.. a 30-something who still likes music on the move (hense the choice of a music phone.. not just a phone) musically it plays music as loudly and clear as the best of the rest.. even my brand new ipod nano (bought because I'm scared to use the nokia too much) has an audiophile run for its money. it's massively cheap but the standard 256 mb storage card is pitiful.. you WILL be buying an upgraded memorycard. thecamera/video functions are easy and reasonable quality in this price bracket. battery life is VERY poor. I cant even last half a day.. even on battery saving mode. my advice.... take my warning seriously and think really hard about whether you really want to only spend �50 and get this nokia.. or spend a few pounds more on a samsung or sony ericcsson. I Love nokia phones for their usual strength and longevity.. i fee a bit let down really

Hi, I have had this phone for a year now and am due to upgrade in 2 weeks. I can't wait. When I first got this phone it was the bees knees I loved it but it has not stood up to a year of general use. I have had Nokia phones for many years and this is the very worst one I have ever had. On the plus side and the only plus side the camera is quite good. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

I've had this phone just under a year and I took it out of my jacket pocket yesterday and the screen has this big interior blob of ink on it. I can't see anything, therefore I am paying a phone bill of $40 a month for nothing. I took it in and they said it was physical damage, but I honestly did not drop it, or throw it around, or anything. Also, the screen scratches very easily. And it always goes white. And I had a problem with my phone for a while.. it wasn't connecting to any internet, games, anything and I sent it in and they fixed it but the phone shouldn't do that. I don't like my phone. It sucks. And it's not worth the money.

i too bought this much raved about phone for my sons 13th birthday we even bought him a neck band so he could keep it safe,but after 1 month a crack appeared when he pressed the music button.We took it back to argos where they sent it back to nokia and after hearing nothing for 4 weeks they then notified us that it wasn`t covered it was phsical damage even though there is not a scratch on the phone ,they want to charge us �45.00 to have it repaired but after reading other reveiws they must be a design fault .i`d advise anyone not to buy this phone stick to sony ericssons

This phone is great the megapixels might only be 1.5 but just remember its a music phone.It can hold up to 1500 songs which is good aswell.If you drop the phone on grass and its muddy who cares just simply wipe it off and its fine again.The sounding is great and if you cant quite get close to a to something you wanna take a photo of just zoom in (8x). Hopefully you wont drop it but if you do beware the screen or the outside of the phone might scratch a little but hey so do all phones.i would recomend this phone to everyone.

Wife has had 5300 for 10 months with absolutely no problems or complaints. So pleased we just bought our daughter one for Christmas. Everything easy to use and looks pretty cool too. We bought some replacement covers in funky colours (pink yellow and green) so when the screen scratches we can just replace the whole cover for �5. That being said, my wife's screen isn't scratched badly yet and she keeps her phone in the bottom of her handbag with her car keys. For those of you with camera issues, did you remove the protective film on the camera lens? With it in place, it will take poor, but not unacceptable pictures, take it off and they get much, much better. This sounds like a joke, but it's not that easy to see if the film is still on the camera. My 11 year old thinks it's great as a music player and as a phone. In summary, a robust and competent phone which does everything pretty well at a very decent price.

With the phones music player it has some rubbish ringtones in the music player, so when im listening to my tunes a ringtone might be the next song, and its really annoying. anyone no how to delete them. Over then that the phone is supurb

This is the worse phone I have ever had. The screen seems to be very fragile and has gone twice in 4 months. I have never had a screen break on a phone before and treated this phone the same as any other. I would not recommend this phone but if you are planning on buying one I would suggest you buy a very sturdy case and take out the insurance.

this phone is as pain in the butt.i have missed several calls cause for some reason it didn't ring.maybe cause i dropped it and it's made of a cheap plastic and it's cracked in two spots.when ya try to put it in a carrying case or something it slides open and ya accidently call the 1st person in your address book.i have accidently called my brother at about 7am.the talk and the standby time are very short too.i like my older 6101(free)phone much better.i have dropped it alot more and haven't had any problems with it.i have used 3 different phone cases and had problems with them coming unclipped and dropping on the ground.

i recently lost this phone while skiing, but i LOVED it. I dropped in numerous times (not on purpose of course) and one time it even fell five feet to the ground and was kicked out of mid air and ended up landing on the road, and was still completely fine. its an awesome phone that has great music playing and an okay camera. i also found texting on this phone to be very easy. one thing i didn't particulerly like was that the battery on mine did not last very long. but thats all! i loved this phone and i am definitely buying it again.

I think this phone is great,so far so good i had no trouble with it at all,good design a bit chunky but i still like it,one thing though the charge runs out maybe it just me,also i have a few minor scratches on the screen but its barely visible but i don't know how it got on there!One thing i don't like about this phone is the camera quality its rubbish,i expected better from nokia,but other than that, everything is great with this phone,i recommend it to everyone who is planning to buy it especially if you listen to a lot of music.

from some one who hasn't got one. probably will. just from looking around different sites and stuff. the main principle with this phone, if you do get it, be careful with it. a mate has his, fell out of his bag whilst cycling...was fine...dropped it few inches onto the desk...broke. think its all a bit chancey whether It'll break on you or not. theres cases you can buy, screen protectors all sorts. spend s bit more and it wont cost as much hey?

Let's not be misled by all the whistles and bells this phone has. It would be a fantastic phone, but the design has a mechanical flaw. A weak spot between the clear LCD cover and the buttons on the outside casing (on the slide grip ribbing) transfers finger pressure directly to the unprotected LCD below. It's no surprise that many LCDs break in the first few weeks. Insurance on this phone is a MUST!

I have used other types of phones and i would say I am very lucky to lay hands on another very good nokia.All the functions I wanted in a phone this nokia got it. the only thing is that a 2gb memoray card is required as an extra. i really love this phone! Its got a fairly good camera for on the go, but then again i have a digital camera anyway so this feature didnt matter to me, i love the whole set up of it and themes etc. and out of all my mates my phone was the loudest, compared to a samsung anyway.. the only problem is, mine broke a few days ago, as the screen broke, i do not no how, as it was at a party, and i honestly cant remember, but it was my fault anyway.. but i have a different phone and just cant wait to get a new nokia 5300! they are th ebest :) xx

I had this phone for a couple of weeks and i come to think that it was ok, the music was really loud and the camera was really clear the only down fall to the phone was their was no flash on the camera and when your out in the pub and you want to take some pics ur screwed lol! and thts what i do take pics when im out hha! Anyway the other down fall to the phone is that it is rubber on the side and it gets really mucky really easy and it does not come off so your phone starts to look really scruffy and it started to make me really mad lol!! anyway other than that i had no problems at all with the handset!! lol anways am off now and i will speak to you all later on

the phone is okay, i've had it for about 3 months before it broke though : the phone started freezing about 2 months after owning it, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by simply restarting the phone. then a few nights ago the battery ran out, and it turned off so i charged it. at first the phone memory didn't load, so i thought it needed more time so i left it alone for about ten minutes then checked it again. the phone kept restarting on and off by itself, then it kept freezing when i tried opening applications, and now i can't even use it to look at the time. t-mobile is sending a new phone [the 5300] though because it's under warranty...but be warned people!! i loved that phone to death but it's quite...fragile to say the least @_@

I've had 2 of these phones in 2 months, the screens just keep breaking. the first time happend while I was drinking tea with a friend, the second while I was standing up. After a bit of research on t'internet I discoverd that this is a general problem with the 5300. The screens just 'go' and because its physical damage (as oposed to spiritual damage that phones suffer from) the retailer I got it from is refusing to replace or repair it under warrenty. Wanting to keep my phone in my pocket is not unreasonable, I should not have to wrap my phone in cottonn woll or leave it at home in a padded room to keep it in good condition.

A great phone!Had it two months now and no problems at all. Great music player and radio,the camera is good for the price.Ringtones and games are good. Very sturdy phone that'll be hard to break and I've dropped it many times with no damage at all. Great battery life in it.Last a few days between charges unless you are constantly texting and calling (and I mean constantly!!!) Defintately one to go for

This is a real asset from nokia. I compared 5300 with motorola E6 and believe me 5300's sound quality and volume was far better than the E6. It is champ and perfect in all it has. there are only two drawbacks 1. it has 1.3 megapixel camera all though it is good but in this prize it should have been 2 megapixel 2. it should have been loaded with more applications and softwares

I am currently on my 4th 5300 Express Music piece of poop. The first one screen died after only a week and a half. The second one lasted about 3 weeks and the LCD screen cracked. The third one lasted 13 days before cracking again. Apparently the slide part of the phone is especially vulnerable to being twisted (puttng pressure on the corners of the screen and bending slightly) It does not take much pressure to break one of these either it seems. I have filed a complaint with Nokia and hope that others will be prompted to do the same.

this phone was amazing and then i took it out of my pocket and it was broken and i went to nokia and they were like we dont fix this, i went to rogers where i bought it and they said well if we send it in and you decline the estimate fee theres a charge for having it looked at and so im a student and just lost 300$ because i got everything with it.

I love the features on the phone and in the beginning the phone was just perfect. But after a little while it started to have some errors. It just shuted down or didn't want to play the music or view the photo's I've put on it. Now I've just earased all the photo's and music and it's working fine again. I think it just can't handle the files. Which is a pitty because that's the reason I bought it!

My daughter bought this phone at great expense. within one week the screen broke. They refused to repair it under guarantee saying she caused the breakage. She paid to have it repaired(now having spent �80 on the phone and �45 on a new screen). Within one week the screen broke again. Nokia customer services have been appalling about it so now having to write to them and also Trading Standards. This phone is not fit for the purpose it was made for. It cannot withstand normal use and should be withdrawn from sale.

I bought the mobile on the 28th of Oct, 2007 at 05.30PM. I was not so keen on bying it at first, but fell in love with it as soon as it came out the box. I have used if for 24 hours now and do not have any complaints, the phone is smart when it comes to music. When you receive a song via bluetooth, update the library or switch off the phone. When you switch it on, it automatically detects the songs you just got. Its pretty compact, I hate big phones and although it looks a little big at first it kinda fits into your hand pretty well. I love the create message screen. I don't particularly like the themes.

I have the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone in Lilac. I love it, because it has so many more features than my last phone (Nokia 6101) I love to listen to the music on it, and the radio is handy. It's a nice and compact, that fit-in-the-palm-of-your-hand type of phone. I say it's an excellent buy if you're looking for a sliding music phone! <3

Got a Nokia 5300 as a free upgrade with Carephone Warehouse. First impressions, bit bigger than I anticipated, yet so flimsy, you feel a good fart would crack the screen, an impression confirmed when I took off the battery cover and I thought the phone was going to fall apart. Now i'm not one for drop kicking my phone around the room but I like to be reassured that it can withstand the occasional knock. Looks are more Fisher Price than State of the Art. Seems odd to me that even half the good reviews are saying that it falls to bits after days. To me, a good phone does not fall to bits within a week of you taking it out of the box. Avoid this phone, it's rubbish. It seems to me that Carphone Warehouse are trying to shift unsold stock by fobbing it off as an upgrade. I returned mine within 2 days, I'm happy to perservere with my less flashy but infinitely more reliable and sturdy old phone.

The colors are brilliant and the music quality is good but the phone is fragile. I pulled it from my pants pocket to find the screen broken. I wasn't so thrilled either with the plastic finish- it soiled easily. I am a huge Nokia fan but the 5300 has disappointed me. I'm staying away from Nokia for now.

This phone has been very good. It has crashed twice over the 6 months i had it. The music player is brilliant. The only major problem i had was that the end of the headphone adaptor got stuck in the phone and now the phone thinks the headphones are always connected. Therefore all phonecalls have to be made through the headset. And also the battery life isn't the greatest. When listening to music you will be lucky to get a day out of it full charged. Overall a good phone.

hi guys/gals............. i have read all of these reviews about nokia5300 xpress music phone......... first i will ask questions those who hate it..... 1. do u u wished its digital camera? 2.radio set? 3.steel structure? 4.wished to buy a great mobile in less price? . . . . .??????????????/ if u expext all above asked questions u just buy them individually.............. . . . . . i used allmost camera/fm/music/memory/battery life of..... nokia sony ericssion samsung Lg motorola etc.............. but all of that have some good features n some bad features........ . . . .. . but in less price like this(in india its anywhere 7000Rs to 7030Rs)......that too with 256MB Memory card....... . . . . . i have used it n before buying this i used my friends 5300 phone to check all camera/fm/music/memory/batterylife...... . . .n finally i decided to buy it...... . . . n i request those ho r hating this please reconsider ur wishlist about this phone.......... . . .. and those who wish to buy this just go ahead................................. dont look at the reviews.......... I was happy with the phone in seven months. Then one morning I was unable to turn it on, and I have not been able to fix it (warrenty expelled). The phone sucks, stay away from it!

Mine is a month old the fone is great, and looks really cool. It was the best fone i could get for its price....and considering i'm a nokia diehard, i was pretty impressed. The downsides are that the camera quality is horrific for a fone of its nature, plus no flash (you either put a good camera or dont put one at all) Note that sonyericsson walkman fones have better cameras than this. The sound quality is poor (oh my!!) although the music player is great. how do i import songs into the music player without adding my silly ringtones??? plus my radio stopped working today. i dont get reception of any station. it just makes that ugly noisy radio sound.

I haven't had it for a week yet, but my gosh. I used to have a sidekick id, and that was really bad.. This phone is soo much better. My only complaint is that the music player sometimes freezes up,and I have to turn my phone on and off to get it to play.

Its the worst phone i ever had till now ,though i have always been the nokia user ,til now have changed around 5 nokia mobile ,but have never had such terrible experience.right from day one,my mobile works only for 1 day or even less without using FM or songs . There is some problem with the model itself as i have replaced the batery ,but the problem still exists ,i am just frustrated with this model

I've only had this phone for about 3 months. It's pretty good. But there is one problem with mine right now; whenever I slide the phone open I can't use the directional buttons. I've accidentally dropped it on the ground but only once and this happens. but other than that it's good.

i got the phone from carphone warehouse and i hd to go back 6 times because things kept going wrong!!!!!!In the end i got a motorola rizr v8 and its been fine so its not carphone warehouses fault is it!! so explain that 1!!!

I would never buy this phone again. It is very flashy, and has all the bells and whistles, but it is not built well. The slider has too much play right out of the box, and the LCD screen breaks in a slight wind. Save yourself repair bills, go with the sony ericsson version.

I absolutely love this phone, it's definitely the best phone I've ever had. It's really easy to use and just generally amazing. The only bad thing I have to say is that the battery life isn't that great but I can deal with that. Get this phone 'cause it's a beast. (Although I broke my inside screen yesterday but that's my own fault, not the phone's.)

I just got this phone today and i found that its somehow (GREAT!!) maybe not all ppl like it caz it got 2 problems : 1)its s40 :<( but we can say that its 3rd edition and the shortcut bar is missing in s60 :>) 2)its camera doesn't have flash although its quality is great at light :<( buy 1cm torch and u'll fix :>) so at all its a good phone and its price is great compared to his SE cousins so i like it and i hope nokia keep on realising budget mobile phones!

Absolutely loved it while i had it, but mine, as well as those of my three friends all broke within 3 months, all of which were irrepairable. steam from cooking can damage it in your pocket! savage phone, if only it was hardier...

good phone i got the black version the sliding is very springy and makes alot of noise and is a bit loose aswell but other than thats its great the sound can go quite loud i got free speakers with mine at carphone warehouse, the battery is not as good as i expected but some people say its really ****, but its not it quite reasonable if you use your phone all day then about 3/4 of the battery will go, but if you dont use it much it will be fine. Also you have to get use to the keys because they are a bit big.

i absolutely love this phone, it is amazing. the only problems i see are that the screen scratches easily and the camera quality isn't that good under certain lighting. i have had my phone for almost exactly 3 months. i dropped it a few times and it never broke, i dropped it about 3 days ago and the keypad that lets you scroll up and down broke. the screen now acts like a tv with bad reception. i must admit, i have really fell in love with this phone and cannot believe it broke in such a short amount of time. i feel lost without it, and cannot wait to get it repaired or replaced.

I bought one, and I've now returned it to Nokia 5 times for the same fault (it keeps resetting when making calls). If you get a bad one (like I did) then you will find that Nokia UK service is appalling, uncooperative, and bordering on the criminal - they have no intention of honouring their warantee promises and simply return faulty items to their owners unfixed.

breaks way too easily lasted like 8 months. After reading comments from here i would say wow. Although the outer screen broke after a month. Sliding system were broke after 5 months of use. Sometimes it just turned it off on calls and that like 10 times in a row and finally the inner screen just broke as well. So i would not suggest it to no one really bad work. Speakers ain't so good either neither the camera

I have had this phone now for almost 6 months now, i was very impressed with it at the start, i thought it was brilliant, but it slowly started to let me down. The camera wasn't the best but it was acceptable, i was dissapointed on how nokia dont use a flash for the camera. i would reccomend it to certain people, but if you are after a music phone then make sure you purchase a memory card with it, and make sure your not expecting the best, im never going back to nokia now, there not the best of phones, i would prefer a sony erricson, or samsung.

I thought this was the best phone. It was my dream phone and i saved up for it. Then about 2 months after i got it, the speaker broke. The speaker volume is weird...level 4 is too soft, and level 5 is too high. Great phone but scratches easily. Changing back to my Nokia 6103

A really good phone, but it took me ages to get the back off. Great sound from radio and music player. Easy to use. Battery life not brilliant, but if you want a phone that has the up to date gadgets for a reasonable cost, then I recommend it.

My 12 year old daughter bought this phone with her birthday money.Plastic screen on outside cover cracked after 10 days.We contacted the T Mobile shop where we bought it and were advised to take it to a stall or shop to have a new cover put on as they did not provide this facility. We paid �10 for a new cover to be fitted and 24 hours later the LCD screen has gone. T Mobile do not want to know and Nokia are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard when it comes to Customer Service. AVOID this phone as it is a cheap product made in Hungary. Learnt our lesson so will stick to well manufactured phones in the future,like Motorola or Sony Ericson.Also would never buy from T Mobile again if it was the last shop on Earth.

i have had the 5300 for almost a year and it has been a rock of a phone in that its never let me down. i actually dropped it out a 3rd floor window (dumb i know) but barely any damage was done, it still works perfectly well apart from the play button on the side. it has served me VERY well.

This phone is an absolute garbage. I had it less than a month and it cracked twice, not the plastic cover, but the LCD screen. unless your going to carry this thing in your hand 24/7 get another phone, the slightest pressure will break it.

my first 5300 lasted a month before the screen showed nothing. I had dropped it once and the screen didnt crack but it just went white and there was no way to fix it. I got another one and again the first time i dropped it this time the screen cracked and also went white again. Not good for someone that drops their phones....

I'm 12, and i just got this phone, I Think its amazing for teens, cuz dat mp3 play roxx! and for adults too, i especially love the fact you can connect it to your pc, and using the nokia pc suit software, you can use it to connect to your laptop to the net, where ever you get a network signal on ur phone! For adults in the business world, i love the fact u can setup your desktop on the phone like a pda, with all the shortcuts on it! its called "Active Standby" to activate it, go to MENU --> Settings --> Display --> Active Standby so there you go, i think it is the best fone on earth, especially with the t-mobile plan, u get rokkin service everywhere, EVEN ON CRUISES! hope this helped PEACE !!

Bought this at christmas thought it was good at first. Bad thing is the sound quality isnt the best and the camera is terrible. All of a sudden pixels went in my camera as well. Then today, without doing anything, its mysteriously completely broken as if its been dropped (when it hasnt) without anyone or anything touching it. Nice.

I bought a 5300 new about 6-7 months ago. i love it however there are a few downsides. i had to take it apart because the speaker had stopped working, cleaned the contacts and it's working better again. it's a awesome phone and def worth the money however i can see the speakerphone going out here soon, or the screen breaking.

I like this phone, easy to text from, good music player, a radio and a tolerable camera. I wish it had a few extra little features though and i've a nag or two as well: * i would like an option to lock the keypad instantly if it is slid closed * an option to adjust screen brightness * wifi would be very nice but thats waaay out of this price bracket for now * the battery life is not impressive, though i only have it 3 days so far so we'll see *inter-changeable covers - i know you can buy some on ebay, but changing the front cover on this phone voids your warranty * better ringtones- i miss one or two from my 5140i Its still a good phone, though i reckon it will get broken easily enough. time will tell.

i thought this is a great phone with its looks and the features! i got and within a day its screen was cracked. i never did anything to it! sit on it or do something to exert pressure on it! i went for a replacement and within 3 days the screen is again broken just the same way it was broken on the first phone. i guess this is a piece of junk cos i have had phones like motorolla L6 and it used to fall day in and day out and nothing like a screen crack. i am so so disappointed and thinkin that nokia is lowering its reputation as a good phone maker. can someone explain why the screen will break without doing anything to it! not one but two the same way!!!!

The nokia 5300 is a fantastic mobile phone for music and videos. Its not a very good camera its only a 1.3 megapixel. Thee mobile phone has key features on the side of the mobile which are play/pause and forward/rewind. Also I think that the mobile phone is not even deer to buy online. Its also great to have in your pocket its the average size for a mobile phone. Its a fantastic phone fantastic price.

I bought this phone yesterday and I am very impressed. I have just got rid of my se w810i and i think this nokia is so much better already. the cam is brillant for a 1.3mp cam, especially in natural light, even the w810i doesn't beat it. ok kinda dodgey headphones, easily replaced. Great little phone, reasonable price.

I had a motorola L6 and I got the Nokia 5300 because my L6's screen cracked big time and motorolas aren't very good at holding lots of songs compared to other phones. I think the Nokia 5300 phone is great although it does scratch easily but i'm clumsey so it's my fault really. The sound is really good when you buy decent headphones. Camera is not bad. Overall the phone is great, you've just got to be careful.I would definetly recommend this phone to anyone that loves music but hasn't got the big buggit needed to buy the top expensive music phones.

Previously having the nokia 6111 which i had many problems with ,i wanted a new phone so i bought this one. And i'm in love with it already. The sound quality is brilliant and storing tracks onto the phone is easy. The camera is excellent quality as is the colour screen. The size of the phone is perfect and the buttons are easy to use. Navigation of the phone is basically the same as other nokias so i found it straight forward. I would deffinatly recommend this phone for anyone. Although aimed at a younger audience i bought it in complete black and got free speakerswhich are brilliant and sound as good as a stereo. Deffinatly my favourite nokia phone so far!

Ok, i didn't get this phone, but my parents bought it for me for my b-day, and first i think this phone is not that great, cause the apperance isn't really pleasing and plus , ALL THE NOKIA PHONE HAVE THE SAME FUNCTION, and its kind of bad, they should probably change some new function or something like that. Back to 5300, after a few month when i discover you can put videos into the phone i was pretty please, but for some reason my phone stop working every 5 minute or 1 minute or so, so i sent it back to nokia company, and see can they fix it, i am still waiting for my phone, but Overall i think this phone is pretty unique, and i like it (BY THE WAY nokia, YOUR CAMERA IS soso , i perfer a 2 megapixel or +.!

brilliant phone but very complicated if you are a virgin to technology. downloaded a ringtone but could not bring it forward as a ringtone on the phone, it tells me i do not have the licence to play the track but it let me bluetooth to another user.

So far I have had he Nokia 5300 for approximately 2 weeks. These are my observations: Pros: 1. It is easy to learn to navigate through its various menus. 2. It can be customizable very easily to your preferences. 3. If you download the Nokia PC Suite, you can enter all addresses into your computer and then easily synchronize it with the phone. Synchronization can be done through Bluetooth, infrared, or USB cable (provided with the phone). The program also lets you do other tasks such as dragging music or pictures into the phone. You can then use the music as a ringer and/or the pictures as wallpapers, picture id, etc. 4. You can unlock the phone by entering a lock code. I have not done this but check out this web site unlockacell.com where for $25 you can unlock it. If this is done, apparently you can use the phone anywhere in the world that uses GSM wireless technology (which is approximately 143 countries) as long as you have the right SIM chip. Where to get this chip, I am not sure, but Google can probably solve that problem. 5. I have a Motorola HS850 Bluetooth ear set and it works really well with pairing it to the phone. The set up was very easy. 6. Reception is very good, better than the Sprint phone (the carrier I used to use) in many places. I live in Riverside, CA. However, I haven�t gone to the mountains where I camp a few times a year and apparently you can get good reception according to their map. 7. The mini SD card (1GB included) is easy to retrieve. 8. Sound is good through the earpiece or speaker; however, it could be slightly louder in noisier environments. 9. The camera, 1.3 pixels, is ok. It has various setting to change for quality, night setting, etc. It lacks a flash. But if you want take good pictures then buy a good digital camera, don�t rely on the phone. The pictures can be downloaded easily to the PC and vice versa. 10. For those of you who like to listen to music, this unit is pretty good. You can download music from your PC and listen to it with the provided headphones. With the provided 1GB SD card you can listen to a lot of tunes. I personally have my own MP3 player so I have only put music on the phone to use it as ringers. Cons: 1. If you have T-Mobile, you can�t go into the internet unless you pay a monthly fee which will allow you to connect through T-Mobile�s T-Zone only. 2. The battery doesn�t seem to last as long as advertised. If you use the phone a lot, it will probably need to be charged every day, so in this case have a car charger ready in the car. 3. The phone feels cheap. By this I mean the plastic casing is light and doesn�t seem very durable, so this phone is not good for a careless child or someone who �trashes� phones. I suggest to get a case for it. 4. At night you can see through the lower portion of the phone which is white. Aesthetically is not appealing. 5. It doesn�t lock when it slides up or down so you can accidentally hang up while talking. 6. Voice recognition (independent) is REALLY BAD which is a disappointment for me since I used to use it a lot with my previous phone, which was a cheap Sprint PCS phone. You need to get the phone in front of you, looking at the screen and slowly and clearly say the name and then maybe the phone will recognize what you said. Most of the time the phone did not recognize the words I said or it will give me something very different. 7. It is truly a tri-band (850, 1800, 1900 Mhz), not quad-band as advertised in some ads and/or reviews. Overall, I am very happy with the phone. I purchased 4 of them for my family and I am hoping that they would at least last the 2 years I signed up with T-Mobile. I did a lot of research on this phone and compared it to the Motorola RIZR and I believe this Nokia is a better phone, unless of course it decides not to work in a couple of months. As with any product, do your own research and carefully think about what you want the phone to do for you. Enjoy!

Got this phone on contract at beginning of july, happy at first but screen cracked after 2 weeks. It wasn't dropped or stood on it was simply in trouser pocket. Now has screen burn and is unusable. Contacted Nokia as there seems to be a problem with this screen (as shown on this site) have put in complaint but don,t expect any comeback. Avoid this phone.

I like this phone - but after three months the display broke in the lower left corner. I know I've not submitted this phone to anything more strenous than my trouser pockets, and it hasn't got a single scratch or dent. So apparently the display is very fragile.

i got my phone right wen it came out and it was great but i have had my phone for 4 months and it will not charge wen i plug it in it doesnt even show the charging alert and it wont hold a charge for very long wen i do get it 2 charge but overall its a great phone i definateley recomend it 2 anyone

I have got a nokia 5300 XpressMusic nd it'z ace it holds 1,500 songs and loads of pic's. The XpressMusic phone is better than the normal nokia 5300 coz u can have 1,475 songs more than the normal one nd it's better lookin.lookin for a phone buy this one it's da best. xx

i have had the phone for nearly a year and the speaker is blown, the battery lasts for a day and it always freezes. The other day it deleted all the music which was on it. In my opinion i dont think anyone should buy this phone.

i love my mobile! its great! easy to use, easy to transfer photos etc from my pc, good camera, great for music, i could go on forever about why its perfect for me. there is one problem with it though! the screen breaks so easily!!! i had to take my first nokia 5300 back to the shop after only one hour of having it because the screen broke! and i have had the one they replaced it with for two months now (being very careful not two brake it and looking after it) but today it fell out of my pocket onto carpet! and the screen cracked!!! i dont know how much it will be to repair but im not looking forward to having to repair it every two months!!! its a great phone but it has that one downfall! thats why it gets 4 **** from me, because it would be perfect otherwise.

i just bought myself nokia 5300 which has great sound, but it takes too long before it starts playing music. I've got another phone with similar feauters, but it starts music immidiatelly. Is my own phone faulty, or is it normal for all nokia music players to take at least 1 minute to play songs? ps: i'll be thankful if somebody enlightens me koyrtides@tellas.gr

Had this phone for a month.. after having the 3250 and having to send it back 4 times in 6 months. Ive just had to send this one back too! It freezes all the time, when your sending a message, or even just looking through the phone. When i make a phone call or get an incoming phone call, a sound like a robot, and i dont even play loud music, and very rarly play music at all, so it cant be that the speaker has gone. Also the memory is rubbish! i have a memory card also, and the only thing i have stored onto the phone memory is my messages, i onli have 20 messages, yet it still says my memorys full! i would not recomend this phone, unless you do not want to use the features, so yet it would still be pointless.

I have had this phone for 6 moy=ths now and I still think it is the nicest phone I have had, it hasnt broken even though it is often mistreated and the battery has ner unexpectely gone dead. not used the music features much but the blue tooth and GPRS work very well and I often use this phone to connect my laptop to the internet when out and about and even to pick up emails without the assistance of my computer. It looks a bit like a Fisher Price My First Phone but I suppose that is part of the charm!

i just brought the nokia 5300 yesterday and still working it out but in all at the moment i think its quite a cute nifty phone i had the sony ericsson w700i be4 this one but fancied a change. i would say i like this nokia one better. bit annoyed i didnt look on here first though otherwise i wouldnt of gone to argos to get it as i payed alot more than what carphone warehouse selling it for but nevermind.

If you are going to wrap this phone in cotton wool and only use it on special occasions - go for it! Otherwise steer clear. The LCD display is a major problem as it is so very easily damaged, usually without even knowing how it has been done. I am on my 2nd 5300 in as many months and am astonished that yet again the LCD display is unreadable. On both occasions I have no clear idea of how it happened and there is no damage whatsoever to the glass screen - just the liquid crystal. This is my seventh Nokia phone, eleventh mobile phone, and I have never experienced anything like this before.

Had it for about 6 months, already had to replace a faulty one and now this one is switching itself off if it is shut too hard or squeezed. The speaker is crackling and it seems to spend most of it's time plugged into a charger. It is my 5th Nokia and definitely the worst, counting the months 'til upgrade time.

This phone is the best phone i've ever had!! its great, its not too small and not too big. its just right! iv had this phone for about 3months now and its still alive and working. iv dropped it quite a few times and iv cracked the screen wen it was in my pocket. i cracked the screen at the back a think its the LCD one and now the phones bleeding. (colours running out onto the screen) soo that i cant see anything behind it. but the phone still works. i can play music, take pictures/videos, send and recieve msgs and i can make and recieve tones! i went to the shop that sold it to me and they said that it could not be fixed thats so i am now looking for another phone. well im looking for another nokia 5300 because i like it that much although it is not cheap! anyway.. The music player is great, easy to function and holds alot of songs. iv highly recommended it to my friends and family and i recommend it to all you guys aswell! xx

cos this is a slide phone the key lock comes off with slightest movement so your call credit gets used up accidentally calling people when your moving around with it in your pocket. the camera is average, the music players nothing special, and now the screen has broken without it having been dropped or banged. and its not the plasic cover its the actual screen inside. not impressed with this phone one bit, avoid it at all costs, its junk

Well... Some bad points: -Plastic looks -1.3 megapixel camera with no flash Good Points - Music Well for those of you who think that we should buy areal camera for images of better qauality should consider buying iPod for music lol. I've had the Nokia 5300 for quite a while now and its pretty good except the camera. I mean, the pictures it takes are clear...but only in daylight. I would love for it to have a flash. The audio quality is respected but the speakers break easily! In the middle of taking a video, it hangs and shuts down...that's annoying. Overall, the Nokia 5300 is worth buying but there are way more better phones out there!(e.g the Nokia N95 3G smartphone)

i got this phone prety late and now there are many phones that are better and ive been looking and i realy want maybe something off the n-series phones BUT >> BUT im stuck with it for a year and so far so good it has a decent camera and i dont know what people are complaining about 15 second video clips for because i can record 3 hours on 2 gigs which is longer than many films these days, the music is mint but the earphones supplied were ''rubbish'' compared to sony walkmans earphones so i want some better ones maybe some that are standard in the n seies baecause apparently they are some of the best, some scratching to the screen after 2 months of use and also the interface of music player is lagging and used to take 10 secs for track to come on from music library which is poor and now can take up to 30 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is bad from nokia as i was expecting quite the usefull and sturdy phones nokia usually are, also people are raving about breaking their phon e but ive jumped of a swing onto it whilst in my pocket and all seems good .............and my final point is that there might be bad or rogue batches were the phones are a pile of junk and mine probably is one of the better 1's so sorry to all you that are dissapointed

the music on this fone is amzaizng, it can go extremely loud, it has da same layout as a sony ericsson, the music keys are to fiddly, the camera is a very high quality, with good effects , no flash :(. Its extremely hard to get the back of da fone off, dont even attempt it, the red colour is garish get it in black, but dont get da 5200. overall dis is a gr8 fone and i would reccomend it 2 people that want features over looks, a rival would be the samsung e250

i had this phone for a month n a bit until i accidently dropped it down a drain outside a bustop the phone is very good indeed but it tends to restart its self too much and the camera is very poor compared to phones such as the k750 which is cheaper and has all the same things i now have moved onto a sony ericsson z710i and so far so good on that

I got this phone one week ago.. and I haven't found much problem with it so far.. But one thing which is quite annoying though is dat wen u r actually writing an sms n if u press the exit button by error, you have to go to the draft in order to go back to ur sms... Another thing, the battery life is quite short. my previous phone which was a nokia 6600 would go without charging for about 4 to 5 days... but dis nokia 5300 wont go beyond a day, which means u have to charge it everyday n this is the most annoying part. so i wud like to ask those who find dis phone completely wicked, don't you have any problem with the battery life of the phone? would really like to know this!! Else, the phone is excellent, very easy to use.

I bought this a month ago after a doing lots of research. And it still lives upto my expectations. First of it's really good looking and different from the standard metallic types. Secondly it has the Nokia OS and not Symbian which is much faster (Unless you consider Series 60 3rd edition which doesn't come cheap) Thirdly itz packed with loadsa features and has got expandable memory. I have read reviews about and with my own experience i have to come to the following cons with it:- 1) The battery life doesn't last moreee than a day. (Thatz cuz i use the loudspeaker so much) 2) You have to take the back cover out to swap memory cards. (Is that a issue, as if you keep swapping memory cards every minute) 3) Sound quality is nice. I mean itz not excpetionally or unbearabily bad. I find it decent enough. 4) It come with a data cable 5) It has internet, email, chatting 6) The most exceptional feature i find in it is the music control buttons on the side, they are really very handy. Truly its a music player with a phone number and lotz more. 7) Camera is not upto the mark and not very good indoors, but it is decent enough outdoors

I love this phone, i bought a case to protect it, and even so it scratches a bit but the plactic that covers the LCD is very flimsy and when i was pulling it off carefully the adhesive on one part was stronger that the plastic broke in half I've been really anal about taking care of my phone but i do admit the plastic is really weak otherwise i have no other complains the photo quality is also amazing

This phone is excellent.I have always been a Nokia fan. I got it about a week ago and it is in tip top shape. I love the music buttons down the side especially because it is almost like instant music. I have the 2GB memory also from Canada. Nokia's maybe pushing it trying to compete with the SE Walkman range but definitely a close call. Only thing that I am a bit disappointed with however is the battery. It kills quickly while using Java apps(games and skins). Other than that, a definite choice and an ideal competitor to the Walkman

I purchased a Nokia 5300 Xpress Music phone 11 days ago. The screen broke yesterday, it was in my purse, it was not dropped or abused in anyway. The only thing that could have happened was it laying against the snap on my wallet. I found out my daughter has a friend with the same phone that also broke their screen with very little pressure. Thank God for the 14 day return policy at TMobile because I was able to take it back (had to argue with the employee until the manager instructed him that it was within the policy to return it w/a $25 fee for the damage). While I was at the store, a girl came in and she had the Nokia 5300, her screen was broken also (but still usable) and she said that this was her 2nd Nokia 5300 that had broken in the same way. Her brother also used his thumb on the screen to slide it up and it broke were his finger was. This is obviously a problem that needs to be addressed by Nokia or TMobile immediately. How many reviews saying the screen breaks too easily before someone takes notice?

after 3 mths of use, my nokia 5300 lost the options button and the loudspeaker button when making calls.i'm very disgusted and shamed on purchasing such a bad quality phone.i paid $400 for a piece of junk

THIS PHONE IS GREAT I HAVE NEVER HAD A PHONE THIS EASY TO USE, EVEN THOUGH I CAN PICK UP A RANDOM PHONE AND USE IT JUST LIKE THAT BUT ITS SO EASY TO TRANSFER MUSIC AND ETC, ITS GOOOD BECAUSE IT CONVERTS MUSIC INTO ''OPTIMISED MOBILE FORMAT'' OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO ITS VERY SMALL MUSIC FILE BUT STILL HAS GREAT SOUND QUALITY by using the earphones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,UNTIL YOU START MESSING AROUND WITH BASS THEN IT GETS FUZZY.... I CANNOT FAULT THE CAMERA I PREVIOUSLY HAD A MOTOROLA L7 WHICH WAS LOYAL BUT THE FEATURES JUST WERENT WHAT I LIKED ANYMORE WETHER AS THIS HAS RADIO,PROPRER MUSIC PLAYER AND I CAN EVEN GET A SORT OF SAT NAV WHERE IT PINPOINTS YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS ZOOM OUT OR IN. i think its a very good phone. A nive size easy to handle and good for new nokia customers to work out which buttons to press. Its a good style and very good for teenagers

if u like music buy this phone hehehe...for all the complains that their cellphones just starts to insinirate after 3 weeks or less... is it maybe second hand? or u just dont know how to take care of it... ^_^ hey is the memory card free?? ^_^ hehe

Heya i just got this phone today. I got a bit stuck when putting music on it what to do but i relise now and it is very easy. The sound quality is very good and the lound speaker is a slight bit fuzzy but im not bothered by it. The camera is very good too all you people saying it is bad ITS GOOD!! it is a nice design and very easy to use. I recorment it to anyone hu wants a good phone for the price!

Wrote about how great the phone was on the 27th of December but boy i was so wrong. after 2 months it started playing up and the camera broke, it keep freezing and it is a pure disaster. it was a faulty batch i got and i am dissapointed in nokia

I was stupid enough tod rop my phone (just the once), and all my Numbered keypad button lights went out. I dont like the fact that you cnat get rid of the horrible pre-loaded songs on the phone. However for �120, its a great phone. The audio, video and image quality are all excellent, and the media buttons just make the phone even better.

Ive had this phone twice first time i was sent a replacement due to the fact that the memory card packed up, and the second time it had to go back due to the fact that the camera worked but you couldnt look at the file, also that it fell a short distance to the floor the lense cracked, dont get me wrong it is a lovley phone but when it goes wrong it goes wrong. all of the while that it is working it is a pleasure to have.

iv had a nokia 5300 for a month and cant fault any part of it! is great!! the sound is real loud and clear, on headphones and loudspeaker. the camera is good for a phone camera. the battery doesnt last that long though. 2 days and its dead, but thats the only fault in the phone and can get changed with a new better battery inserted! so the phone is great!!!! buy 1!!!!!!

The memory card on mine has all of a sudden decided NOT to work. However its been fine since I got it at christmas. I cant look through my pictures etc or listen to music on it! I need this probelm fixing as I dont want a new memory card as my current one has files which I dont want to be lost! Otherwise this phone is generally good value, good picture quality, mp3 player and memory!...usually

I had my first Nokia 5300 for 3 weeks, the battery life was extremely poor, when u turned it back, it would lose some of the settings, i.e time and date. I didn't realises until i returned the phone and rec'd another one that a lot of the options were missing. Although I like the colour and it's a good size, will see how it goes.

i have had this phone for about 2 weeks now and so far i am impressed for how much i would of had to pay if i wasnt on it with contract �120 is the 02 price,when i got the phone the first thing i noticed was the slide it was ok but sometimes you could hear it grazing together if you put a little pressure on it whilst sliding after having a play about with it i noticed the screen was really good almost as good as asmart phones screen which tend to be crisp and clear also the battery power is a dissapointment but i am still recharging and discharching the phone for maximum performance as i like to know i have a lot of power left for my music and other things the camera is good but it lets you down when recording videos only a 178 by 120 picture or something close to that region but i am very pleased with the sound quality out of the earphones but obviously sony's are designed to fit right into the ear for more bass and better quality of sound, another thing is the wid e range of music compatibility from aac+ to wma is a decent range of formats so dont worry about spending hours converting then transferring. overall i do like this phone and i just hope it lasts me a year

This phone is superb i have had it for about a 3 months now and the programs that it has r just great the Mp3 player is good i have 400 songs on it and still have room to take photos and video recordings i recomend this phone to anyone however you do have to have small fingers to reach press the keys i was also worried about the slider coming off but that has now been sorted and is now a outstanding phone you have to buy it

Cute design and size but the plastic material is way too cheap, the corner cracked the first drop (T_T) Camera is awful on this thing plus the MMS only limit picture size to 640x480! My old Samsung never resize photos before sending (same resolution camera) Speaker is better than average and I like the radio feature. The requirement of radio extension or head phone is a bit annoying though :( Overall, not a bad phone but I will not keep it around for long...

Well what can I say, dead impressed with this phone! Like a few people have said the battery life isn't that great, but I think that's because I've only just got it and I've been playing with it none stop! lol. Sounds quality is amazing and the camera is THE best I have seen on a mobile phone. Would and already have recomended it to people my best friend has already copied me after me having it for TWO days!!! The Nokia 5300 is an amazing phone and I don't think I have any more to say with out just blabbling on and about it's aswumness! Thanks for reading, God bless xxx.

gr8 fone sound quality is good it looks unique the cameras not bad must admit doesnt have a flash but overall this is a reli good fone and i would recomend it to those people who are not sure about buying it

This was a suprisingly gud fone miles better than me last one (k700i) gud price. Not the prettiest fone but its easy 2 learn plus its a music fone. My dream i was disappointed when i saw only 10mb but im getting a card. so far so good

Love it! I have this phone for a week now and it still has no problems. MP3 is great, especially in earphones. To some people who had this phone and says that it breaks easily, maybe its because you don't take care of it well, and it is not about the camera, its about the music! Good Job Nokia! Keep it up!

Having had the phone a couple of weeks, I'm generally very pleased with it. Being a proper grown up, was a bit concerned about the Tonka Toy looks (ask your parents, kids), and it does need taking care of to keep it looking good - I've found that the screen scratches quite easily. However, the sound quality through a decent pair of headphones is phenomenal (if you have the adaptor) and pretty good even through the ear drop ones supplied, and as a music freak this has been something of a boon - this was the main reason I plumped for this phone in the first place. The camera quality is also very good, but not exceptional, and all the other features do pretty much everything I need (calendar, calculator, games (very good graphics - think almost PS1!), good predictive text etc etc). If you want a music based phone it's fantastic, but very obviously aimed at the youth market.

I bought the phone three days ago and i don't think i've put it down since. This is the first slide phone i've had and already I perfer its design over past flip phones. Its easy to use interior allow even beginers (like my mum) to access all of it's features and easily get to grips with its treats. I would say its a must for any music lover.

An absolute dog of a phone..Kept mines for a couple of weeks during which time there was not one single day where I didn't have to re-charge it. Keep the music player on for even a couple of hours and watch that battery die. Quite a nice looker on the outside and the buttons for the music player were great. Sound not a patch on Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones though and the earphones supplied with the handset are terrible. Slide mechanism again isn't up to scratch. Somebody from Nokia needs to infiltrate Samsung's factory and find out how they do it ! It's quite cheap (for a reason) but I would still not reccommend it to anybody.
