Hi, this model has a known bug, which may cause freezing or crashing after a few months use. It's to do with the phones internal processer, which has bug in the code. You can temporarily fix the freezing by removing the battery and relpacing it. However, the fault will return. Other faults include freezing in camera mode and launching applications when on sleep and freezing. You've been warned.

This phone is a total failure because one can barely hear the other person speaking. The sound qulaity is abysmal. I stopped using it after 2 days and am looking for a replacement.I wanted to get a Nokia as I had one 2 phones ago which lasted years (can't remember the model. I am turned off of Nokia now. Just because it is a basic phone, the soiund quality should be nowhere near as bad as this. I feel let down and cannot possibly recommend this phone.

It works very well with my in car phone system (parrot3100).The one problem that I have is that I don't see the point of a camera if you cannot transfer it to your PC, there was no USB connector with it. I have read the reviews and noted them. I am on Vodaphone and I keep getting 'no network available' messages yet My old Nokia1100 has the network in the same place at the same time. I'm not too sure about this phone but I will certainly watch it very closely.

Well for a start, connectivity is not only limited to Bluetooth, you also have cable and infra-red. Yes memory is limited so you can't load a lot of pics onto it. It may be only dual-band but I have been all around most Euro counties with it and I always get a connection. My provider is Tesco Mobile, which I believe uses the O2 network, and hasn't crashed yet after a missed call. Summing up, I think its a great little phone for phone calls and text's. Thats all I want a phone for. I have a decent camera for pics. Lets face it, you gets what you pay for.

However, yesterday I took it out of my pocket and the LCD had cracked behind the screen. There is not a single mark on it, yet Carphone Warehouse told me it was because I hadn't looked after it properly. The battery life isnt great and the ringtones are awful. The quality of the external speaker isnt good either and i dont think the internal aerial is as good as other Nokias. The camera is terrible too, however as i mentioned earlier if want a phone and you dont intend to use the functions then this is o.k. and really cheap to buy. In the 2 weeks she had it it didn't freeze or let her down battery wise. Unfortunately, it's not very strong. Read all the reviews and have to say that my new Nokia 2630 is perfect. Definitely no locking up or, for that matter, any other problems and I have had several missed calls while the keypad is locked. Maybe they have fixed the problem on the newer phones. Yes, camera is poor quality but battery seems to last quite well but then I use my phone to communicate not chat or take photos or listen to music! No MP3, who cares. If you want loads of features you have to pay loads of money - it's pure economics. However, the FM radio is great. Recently bought one for the wife and daughter, they love it. The really good bits are; it weighs nothing, it has good battery life, the software is instantly recognisable to anyone who has ever used a Nokia, the call quality and reception are excellent, it sync's up with my bluetooth bits flawlessly. The downsides (if there can be any at this price) are; the camera isn't great, there's very limited memory and no micro SD slot, the software is a bit on the slow side and the keypad is a bit indistinct - no separation between the keys and little tactile feedback. The camera is useful, the display is very clear, the Organiser is great because it will easily Synch. with Windows Vista's Calender via Bluetooth and the overall build quality is very good. I am also a O2 Pay and Go customer, but I've had none of the lock-up problems talked about here, but I've still got a few grumbles . . . 1) The phone absolutely refuses to send Multimedia text messages - I've tried everything and the O2 technical department has run out of advice - the phone continues to report "Network Error" when I send MMS text and gives-up - and after months of trying I've given up too. 2) The top earpiece loudspeaker is too quiet - if you walk on a pavement near heavy traffic, you may not hear what a caller is saying, so you have to turn the thing around and use the rear mounted louspeaker (and get your ears blasted) or use headphones. A part from that, it's good. The phone costs some UK £25 from O2 - for the features it offers it is good value for money. Quit moaning you guys! andy

The good points. 1. Relatively cheap for its features, comes with Bluetooth capabilities, VGA camera with 4x zoom, and FM radio. 2. For the few times I have made calls using this phone, I have found the voice to be very crisp and clear over the phone, which impressed me. 3. Very lightweight and slim as well, and is definitely easy to carry around. 4. Comes along with its headset in the box. 5. Able to play mp3 files (I only needed one - for my ringtone!) 6. 65k colours, 128x160 screen is good enough for its functions. Colours are clear and vibrant. The bad points. 1. The OS is too slow. Perhaps it's due to Orange's branding, but the phone takes literally a second at times to respond to the button I press. Unlocking the keypad is a big pain due to this, as I need to press, wait one second, press, and wait another second before it unlocks. However, this might be just Orange phones. 2. Its camera belongs to the 1980s. VGA camera takes rubbish pictures, might as well not include it and cut the price by 10 pounds. Don't even bother asking about its video capabilities. 3. FM radio is basically unusable. Searching for stations takes forever, and woe be you if you decide to scroll through the frequencies (takes a full second to 'register' the frequency - even when it's just static. try going thru every 0.1Hz at this rate to find a station). 4. Dismal memory. Said to be 11Mb, but mine (due to branding by Orange I guess) only has 6Mb free when it arrived. Forget bout putting in more than one mp3. 5. Poor battery life. I doubt it can last longer than a day after a few hours of talktime. 6. It's dual band (might limit roaming capabilities).

It has Nokia interface so nothing quirky, all is familiar. The bluetooth links to my car and computer ok. It is very slim, very light and fits in a shirt pocket. Problems? Not many. The menu takes time to catch up with your button pressing, the battery life is great on standby but gobbles up during talktime and if you use a photo as wallpaper, the quality is not quite there. But, I bought it for £20.00 and it is a fine phone, alarm clock and the internet is just about good enough for getting the football results.

I like Nokia's. This phone is sleek and generally OK. It doesn't have a good selection of already available ringtones. My only problem is agian the freezing thing. I don't use voicemail. I find it most often crashes when I recieve a text after I have just sent one.

I bought this phone today. it is slim and very light. Made calls and recevied calls, and missed calls. sent a text, and received a text.. Well, shortly, it does all and hasnt given any problem yet as you say like freezing etc.. all features are enough for the money it cost. Picture quality is better than 1.3 mp cameras cos the vga cameras are better off than 1.3 rubbish ones. The only thing I didnt like about this phone is that it works slow. Each time I push on a key, it answers slow like 0,5 sec. but thats not annoying much.. If you are short on money like me, try this one. It worths its money.

I have this phone on t mobile contract it doesnt freeze like it does on o2 but what i hate is the lack of in call volume and having to reselect my wallpaper and screen saver everytime after having to turn it off. I went into the t mobile shop and was informed this was normal for nokia and told not 2 turn off my phone. Is this true and if so why does my husband not have this problem when he turns off his n95?

Worst phone I have ever had. Light, plasticy, cheap and nasty. Only bought it because I broke my previous phone and was not entitled to an upgrade yet! Constantly reboots even when it is not doing anything. Clearly the software is apalling! Rubbish screen and rubbish camera. DON'T BUY IT!!

So far so good, although I have only had it a week, but none of the problems outlined below(I am on Meteor). Seem to be getting loads of time on the battery. I would advise any one who buys it to get a cover quick because the paintwork scratches very easily.

I absolutely HATE the Nokia 2630!! I find it difficult, impossible to hear a caller on this phone. I'm always trying to reposition the phone against my ear to hear better, never had this problem with other style phones. Although I've looked through all the menu options there seems to be no way to control the "speaker" volume, only the ringer. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!! Can't wait to be rid of it.

Fine phone, does all the basics well, and if you set it up properly (i.e. knock off screensavers etc.) the battery can last for ages. Poor camera, but I couldn't careless about cameras on phones. Big drawback is the volume: it can't be turned up so forget about calling in a CROWDED PUB!

Bought this to use until I can upgrade my HTC Touch Dual (great PDA, lousy phone.) It makes calls, receives calls, has a good battery life, is slim in the pocket, the alarm works, bluetooths up to my car OK, sycs with my Mac, quick easy texting. Ok, it is slow to respond to buttons being pressed and the screen is not as high resolution as some. But for a phone, to make calls, (an under rated feature of some phones) it is great.

I just bought a Nokia 2630, I like its design but i'm a bit dissapointed on how slow the keypad reacts, and the ringtones are not very good either, but if you just need a phone to call people i guess you'd br happy..the camera is allright, is best it bright lighting.

SOLUTION TO NOKIA 2630 Freezing Problem: I purchased this phone yesterday, only to find that there is a problem with the phone locking up/freezing under the following circumstances: Lock the Nokia 2630 keypad (Menu + * key) Call the Nokia from a different phone Let the Nokia ring, don't answer it When the voicemail kicks in with the other phone (i.e. the one used to call the Nokia 2630 mobile) just hang up - don't leave a voice mail message. Now - if your service provider sends a text message at the same time as the phone showing "One missed call", the handset will be locked and the only way to get out of this is to take the battery out, as already mentioned here.. BUT - It is possible in many cases to get your service provider to NOT SEND A TEXT MESSAGE after receiving a call... For example, TESCO sends a "service text message" stating your current balance after calls you make or receive. I believe this is fundamental to the problem. A simple call to TESCO asking them to stop this service , and I no longer have a problem! Additionally - find out the FIRMWARE version of your phone by typing *#0000#. I was using 5.20. They have since fixed this problem with FIRMWARE version version 5.61 as of 03 July 2008. I spoke to Nokia's support department who recommended taking the phone to a Nokia centre (and they gave m the details for the local store for my geographical area). Excellent service from Nokia. I would suggest that if you happen to like the look and feel of the phone itself, this problem is very easy to fix (and is fixed for free by a Nokia provider, as long as you take your receipt along). I quite like the phone, good quality sound / reception, nice design, easy to text with...
