I am now back in the US but can't seem to get my carrier to help out with this phone because they say it isn't available here as of yet. Reviewed by malabui on 08/08/2007 I've owned this phone for the last 4 years and have found that it still works well. The battery life when not heavily used still lasts 6 days. I currently use a Blue shiny metal fascias with it (as I wasn't keen on the black one). The photos I found were surprisingly very good quality for a oldish mobile when I transferred them to the PC. The WAP works ok and I don't know about picture messaging as my mobile network is not one that supports it. The only slight problem is where you charge it some of the metal connection has rubbed away. I think that is why they don't use this type of connection on new phones. Also my only annoyance is that when looking at you phone book, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom if you have a name you want to contact down there instead of being able to jump to the bottom. So all in all its a phone that stands the test of time well. Rating:

Reviewed by Amy on 09/06/2007 I got this phone in 2005 for my birthday, so I know its old. Its probably average for its time, but it is such a bad phone. Like all other motorolas, it constantly crashes and is just general breakable! The camera is appalling and there is enough memory for about 10 pictures taken via camera - about a 1 minute video. For a first mobile phone, its pretty good I suppose. You learn the basics of a mobile. But I wouldn't say to my friends "hey you should get a v620 they're great." I'd hardly recommend motorolas in general. Rating:
Reviewed by Simon on 26/05/2007 The mnotorola V620 is a pain. Nothing is instinctive. For example trying to add credit or set an alarm? Takes 20 buton presses and an hour trying to find the things. Do not waste you money unless you like spending hours learning a new phone layout. Rating:

Cannot take photos in dark places. Cannot take photos in bright areas. -SMS key input is slow. You'll find yourself typing much faster than the letters appear so you'll end up spending a lot of time correcting the typos. -Crashes Frequent when entering photo mode, video mode -Connectivity to computer is poor -Storage is poor -SMS storage capacity is poor -MMS is poor --After 2 years, you must use the speaker phone to communicate because the ear piece in the phone has broken. Camera is good quality and video too, sometimes a little slow and video doesn't last that long but it is still good. Reception is ok and battery seems to be good. One thing that isn't as good is that i am used to the left key being enter and the right key being back but it is the oposite on this phone. Overall i am pleased with this phone having being so worried about choosing the right one! Also it has changeable fascias which I like. This phone is very cool get it! Rating:
Reviewed by Caz on 21/08/2006 i bought this phone last year just before going to university and spent quite a bit as i'm on pay as you go! Got it from the carphone warehouse and although some aspects are good it has been a big let down! Firstly i found it impossible to set up MMS and the internet access after being directed from the carphone warehouse to O2 to o2's website and then finally visiting another O2 store i was told that the phone shouldn't have been sold to me as MMS enabled as O2 had alot of trouble with this model and i had little chance of getting it sorted i was less than pleased. The memory is rather pathetic although i have got quite a few pictures on it my main grievance is the fact you can't delete the default pictures already on the phone when purchased, or the tones or videos for that matter these all take up quite alot of memory (especially the videos). The camera is ok but the light settings aren't great and often what appears to be a great picture on screen then goes rather fuzzy and out of focus when taken and displayed, infact all my pictures seem to have a grainy effect on them but only after they've been shot. Also had trouble getting it to charge could take up to 7 or 8 attempts at being plugged in before it would charge properly If you're looking for a new phone i'd advise you that although it is an alright model if you're not fussy about the media bonus' to avoid the market has advanced and there are much better models available! Reviewed by *+*Hannah*+* on 23-09-2005 Ive had this phone since christmas 2004 and i think its fab! It looks wonderful and has a good quality solid feel, quite unlike some of the cheap plasticy models that are on the market at the mintue. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone, its fast, has a good battery life and is easy to use- and if you are stuck , the manual is very readable! The only slight problem Ive had with it is bad quality photos. They look wonderful on screen until you have saved the image, then when you scroll through your photos to see the one you've just taken, the quality is of a considerably lower standard which is quite disappointing... Also i just can't figure out how to create a voice clip and then assign it one of the entries in my phonebook so i can say the name into the phone and it immdeiatly takes me to the appropriate number.... Has anyone else had either of these problems with the phone?? Overall the phone is excellent- the colours are crisp and clear and the sound quality is very good. Rating:

I got this phone yesterday and did initially have trouble with the WAP settings but I managed to sort that out with no real problems. I'm on O2 pay as you go, and these are the settings that work for me are (on the O2 setting in the web sessions menu) Name: 02 Homepage: www.google.com Service Type 1: HTTP Gateway IP 1: 193.113.200.195 Port: 8080 Domain 1: (this is left blank) Service Type 2: WAP Gateway IP: 000.000.000.000 Domain 2: (also blank) DNS 1: 000.000.000.000 DNS 2: 000.000.000.000 Timeout: 5 minutes CSD No. 1: (left blank) Username 1: (left blank Password 1:( also blank) Speed (Bps)1: 9600 Line Type 1: ISDN CSD No. 2: (left blank) Username 2: (left blank Password 2:( also blank) Speed (Bps)2: 9600 Line Type 2: ISDN GPRS APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk Username: o2wap Password: password Hope this helps if you're having trouble! Also, you can go onto http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/ota2/input2/0,,181,00.html and they'll send you the settings, though that didn't work for me!!! Now thats sorted, more about the phone itself. I have to say that even though I don't like usually flip phones, this not only looks but also feels amazing. It's very sleek, very sexy and very stylish. I have it in black, and though I was disappointed at first on the site thinking 'blacks a bit boring', this phone is anything but. When you switch it on, you're dazzled by the screen, which is something like 262 000 colours. It shows. The camera is excellent too, I was impressed. When I compared it with my friend's phone (the Motorola V220) there was a noticable difference in quality. It also does videos, these aren't as good but still of a decent quality (if you have problems where it stops shooting after about 5 seconds, go to video setup and change the video length to maximum). Predictive text messaging takes a bit of getting used to but now I am used to it, I think it's great. One thing that does annoy me is that when I want to put x x x at the end of a text, it says y y y unless i change the character! Not sure yet how many messages the phone stores, I currently have 63 on it in total, that includes the outbox, and seeing as my old phone only stored 10 maximum, this is a BIG improvement!! LOVE the flashing lights on the front!! Some people probably think it is unnecessary and childish, but I think it's great!! Battery life is OK, I charged it up last night and it said low battery at about 8pm this evening, but I had been taking lots of photos, sending messages, making calls etc, so it'll last longer when I just leave it until I need to use it! I have thin fingers (!), but I would imagine the keypad would be a bit fiddly for anybody with slightly chubbier hands! I find navigating around the phone menus simple too. My last phone was a nokia 5210 and that was OK, but old and outdated. This is the best phone I have ever had, and I wouldn't change it for the world!! Rating:
Reviewed by dme916 on 22-08-2005 I bought the phone with my Christmas money. It cost me #150 on Virgin and I bought it from the Carphone Warehouse. I could not get onto WAP. I could not use Bluetooth and best off all I could not ring out on it. The purpose of a phone is to make phone calls but not on the Motorola V620. I advise anyone not to buy this phone. It has been a waste of MY own money. Wish now I had waited a couple of months and got a Sony Ericsson K700i like all my friends. Rating:
Reviewed by Jacqui on 19-08-2005 HI i love this phone especally now i have the mms/ internet settings working. The easiest way to do this is: Go to www.hellomoto.com Scroll down to your country Click on operator settings (top right of screeen) Click on operator settings once more in the drop down menu then click sign me up (dont worry you dont have to pay its just email address) Insert your email address then click sign me up again Once the screen loads just click on operator settings once more a seperate screen will appear. Then all you have to do is click on what the problem is (e.g mms/internet) it will ask you for your country, network and mobile number then it will txt you the new settings. Sounds complacated but its really not. This was the last option i tried and it was the one that worked for me!! Rating:

Reviewed by Lesley Australia on 11-04-2005 Have had this phone for 4 weeks - hate it. Only stores about 30 messages. You have to scroll down to get a name from the phone book. New phones let you put in several letters until you get the name you want. Disappointed with the phone memory. The fonts are small and cannot be changed. Don't like the screen. The manual is hard to read. Going back to Nokia - much more user friendly. Rating:
Reviewed by FORDY on 09-04-2005 i love this phone, its got everything i wanted, the only set back was the internet. I'm on 02 payandgo, n i tried for ages to get da settings. Try txting "active" to 2020, then follow the instructions. I tried it a couple of times but it wouldnt send me the settings. If u try a couple of times and it still hasnt worked then try the v600 settings.(this worked for me). Once again just text "active" to 2020 and follow instructions. It does work. Hope this helps. Please switch the handset off and remove the battery and SIM card (please see your user guide if you are unsure of how to do this). Please clean the copper part of the SIM with a lint free clean cloth - this will remove any static which may have built up on the SIM card. Now replace the SIM card and battery, switch the handset on and try again to connect to WAP over GPRS. If you can connect to WAP services over GPRS, try sending an MMS to a friend. 3. If you are still unable to use the service, please navigate through your phone's menu to the network selection menu. Once done, choose to manually select another network (preferably Vodafone) and wait for an error message to appear on your screen. Repeat the above process but this time selecting the O2 network. Please remember to set the phone back to automatic network selection (or equivalent). Re-attempt to use the MMS service. Please Note: The 'Network Selection' section may vary according to manufacturer and model of handset. Please see you user guide for the correct menu map/instructions. 4. If you are still unable to use the service, please try a 'SIM-Swap'. A 'SIM-Swap' involves trying your SIM card in another O2 compatible phone and trying another O2 SIM card in your phone. In both cases, re-attempt using the MMS service. This exercise helps eliminate the possibility of a hardware fault being the cause of the problem. If you do not have access to another O2 compatible handset or SIM card, please visit your local O2 store where our friendly staff will be happy to help. To find out where your nearest store is located, please call 0800 224477. If, after trying all of the above, you are still experiencing problems, please contact a member of our specially trained Data Support Team on 0906 895 0504 between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (calls charged at 50p per min). How long has the fault been occurring? What error message is seen? What error message is heard? e.g. 3 rising tones. Reviewed by Welly on 23-02-2005 Update of my review below. I wasnt very specific regarding the O2 GPRS settings so here goes. Ring O2 and ask them for the settings for the V600 as they dont have the V620 settings. They should send these straight to your phone. Once you have saved them go into WebAccess - Web Sessions - Scroll down to O2 then press the menu key (top button with all the lines on). Set as default so that O2 is ticked back in the Web Sessions menu. Click on the menu key again and select edit then change SERVICE TYPE 1 to HTTP and PORT 1 to 8080. Now when you select Browser it should take you straight to the O2 site with no problems. But if youv'e got any sense you'll take this phone back to the shop and ask to change it to a Nokia! Reviewed by Welly on 19-02-2005 At last!!! So many thanks to Mike from UK (19th Jan) you are a Saint. I am now able to access 02's wap, now if only there was someway of downloading MP3's then this phone would get full marks. It's been a real headache with 3 months of headbanging walls, I wish I'd forked out the extra 50 quid for the Nokia 6230. Bought the USB connector from Carphone Warehouse. Dont waste your #30 if tempted, you cant download MP3 and the .wav files would sound better through a tin can and some string. Anyone got any ideas regarding MP3's? Heres Mikes advice if you missed it - I just sorted the now infamous V620 GPRS O2 problem...without their help. Change Service Type 1 to HTTP and Port 1 to 8080. Bingo!!! Rating:
