When i got this phone a few months back i was really please i got it in pink, it looks great. It was my first camera phone so i don't really know what to say about it. The normal razer V3's aren't supposed to have video recording, but when i opened the box and turned my phone on it seems it has which i was really surprised about. It has a range of games, but only 2 i like - billiards and golf. The ohers seem a wste of space as you don't really need them. It is easy to text on this phone as the keys are easy to use. The phone seems really wide but in your hand it is so comfortable you wouldn't notice it was there! Although the camera is little quality, you can get some really good pictures from it! The office tools are really good - and i have found out that the L7 doesn't have some of the features that the V3 does! There are a few bad points though - the keypage sometimes prints its outline of the screen when you shud it and the marks are quite hard to get off! The side buttons are really sesitive so in a lesson you could accidently press a button and it would make a really loud beep. It's really hard to set up the computer software, which is a shame as i would like to get my pictures on to my computer but i can't as i can't use the software. The case scratches really easily which ruins the matalic brilliance and its a shame it doesn't have a editing thing like picture DJ or something - but the seem to only come from vodaphone phones. Other than those points its a really awesome phone!

When I got this phone for my 18th birthday last year i was stunned at how neat it was , so slim with smooth flat buttons, the screen has amazing colour and is VERY big. Also the camera quality is good for a phone of that price, but the mp3 player is VERY poor it can only hold one song and that is partly wat i wanted the phone 4- an mp3 player! i ended up getting an ipod nano 2 weeks later !

BEST PHONE EVER. i have been through alot of mobiles, and none compare to the V3 RAZR. My first was a nokia 3315 which was quite frankly...DEPLORABLE. then i had a nokia 3200, also dont bother picture was bad same with the screen. Motorola v220 not to bad except, screen to small. Nokia 6170..OUTSTANDING mobile, still not as good as v3 but love the look, shape, size and features, but low batery life and died. Nokia 6260 Great twist feature no external screem, and annoying to flip open. REASON WHY **V3 RAZR** tops them is because::: -thin -light -262,000 colour screen -voice activated calling -very powerfull (even though thin mine has been droped many times) -6.5mg of memory NOT 5! -ability to get things from ur computer which editing functions. -bluetooth -voice recorder - JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING i recomend you buy this mobile, even if you think its not good.. WHEN IN DOUBT LASH OUT!

The first time I got it back it worked beautifully for 4 hours!!! After checking on it again today, I am told to expect a different phone in the mail because they could not fix mine. I am not getting a new phone-- they said a "refurbished" (another IMEI #) so do not buy or you could be paying $300.00 0r $400.00 for a USED phone like me!!!!!!!!!!!! motorola warranty sucks!

At first, this phone seems a really good option, looks good and looks easy to use. I loved mine at first, however i soon started noticing the problems, the memory on it is appalling, especially the amount of messages it can hold. It is so slow when writing text messages and the camera lacks quality. I have had it for 4 months now and the software has just failed on me, currently, i am trying to get it fixed by motorola and it seems i'm not the only one that's had problems. The bluetooth has so many problems picking up other phones, it seems there is no point having it on there. The only advantage to this phone is that it connects to your computer, and the program it uses to do this is simple and easy to use. However, this is available with other phones, namely the sony ericsson which has much better features, my opinion, after having the V3, go for the sony!

This is not the best phone I've had. The battery life is very poor and usually runs out after a day or two. The speaker phone sounds slightly muffled and distorted. The pre-set sounds are dreadful. The pre-set ringtones are polyphonic but sound monophonic. You're very limited when it comes to customising the phone, with around 3 skins and no option to modify the colours. When you connect this phone to a computer, you have to use the software which comes with it on CD. There's no USB drag-and-drop. If you to use this phone on another network, you will have to pay £30. I tried unlocking it with my cable and it doesn't work. The phone is paper-thin which is good and looks very stylish. It's easy to navigate through the menus and customise the icons. The message centre is excellent and very clear. I was also impressed with the way it charges the phone whenever it's connected to the computer via USB.

This is to correct my comments 12:12:05. I gave the razr 3 2 star in haste, I now give it a 5 because after investigation by myself I found the screen had indeed suffered physical damage lord knows how cause I treat it with care, possibly one of my family or freinds sat on it & didn't have the heart to tell me. I purchased a replacement LCD from sians mobiles for £25 (better than £150)& fitted it myself a bit tricky but doable! & sian were more than willing to offer advise. When I dismantled the phone I found pressure damage right where the button on the leather case sits when closed, so would advise anyone to get a better case immediately. I like this phone a lot it feals great in the hand & looks good to, hope moto don't come out with a better looker cause I am powerless to resist. BUY!

Good looks... but thats about it. The bluetooth dosn't let you send files to anyone... it says it's a video phone, BUT IT WONT LET YOU RECORD VIDEO!!! When texting the phone is always about 5 words behind! The backlight for the buttons dosn't always work, and to top it all off 5mb for memory is RUBBISH!! I only stored one song on the phone which apparently has an MP3 player, but it took up over half the memory on the phone! I was really gutted with this phone because I was sooo excited for it, but when I got it it was hopeless. Now I'm going to have to fork out £170 for a new one cause i've gone over the 14 day limit, and apparently the phone isn't faulty even though they replaced my first one! Grrr! Put it this way... buy it for it's looks... but looks alone! This phone really is all looks and NO substance! Gutted!

I cannot understand what everybody is moaning about! I recently purchased this phone and I have got to say, I think it is excellent! The large screen is beautiful and clear with vivid colours, the keypad is a georgeous peice of styling and is very easy to use. the phone looks beautiful and works more beautifully! After reading quite a few reviews about this phone, I have noticed a lot of people whining on about the lack of memory, why? I had a nokia 6610i before I purchased this phone, it only had a 4mb memory and that not only was capable of handling numerous numbers, it also had plenty of space for photos, which I had over 50 of in it! The razr has plenty of memory (if you do use it all up you can always use the mobile tool provided to transfer some stuff to you pc) unless ofcourse you want to download whole albums but whats the point of that? If you want to listen to music on the move, get an mp3 player! Also I have heard lots of people moaning about the in phone menus being too complicated. I have found it very easy to navigate! At first I was a bit lost since I am used to the nokia way but I soon got used to it! If you ask me the people who moan are too stupid to understand how to use it, you know what they say..... a bad workman always blames his tools! If you are thinking of buying this phone go ahead, you wont regret it! Once you have the phone in your hand you will fall in love with it and you'll be the envy of all your family and friends!

The phone looks pretty good, until dust starts to enter the screen and ruin the display, the camera is ok, until you realise its got no video capture option, the phone is meant to be able to have mp3 ringtones, it would help if it had enough memory to store mp3's!! it only had 5MB which is a joke. The phone software is so slow that when i type a text message i hhave to wait for the phone to catch up with me. The only thing about this phone is its looks and they are by no means worth suffering the inferior motorola rubbish. I would advise antbody who is thinking about buying this phone not to buy it, i will never buy a motorola product again for the rest of my life, as far as im concerned they make inferior junk. Menu's, you have to be an expert on the times crossword to understand the logic of how the menu is put together. When you think you have found the menu you want(after having slayed the dragon and rescued the princess) then it is normally dosen't contain all the logical functions you expect. I defy anyone without a Doctorate in Unified Theory to try and pair with another device using bluetooth. I'm a sucker for my gadgets, and though I try to take the best care of them I fail miserabley. Two week after purchasing this phone (and having dropped it countless times already) I topped it all off by dumping it in a blow of water. I had no hopes for it. Like many people, I thought the phone was a little too 'flimsey' for it to cope, and I expected the worst. Nevertheless, I didn't give up all hope and I sat it out to dry for a day or two before attepmting to switch it on again...and lo and behold - it worked perfectly! Four months later and it's still working like a dream. As for the 'poor quality' and 'Rubbish!' side of things, I don't know where to begin counteracting. The phone is better than I've seen for years! It has a stunning body and the interface is very user friendly. It may take a little fiddling around, but in no time, you can customise it to just the way you like (shame on you people who give up before trying and then call the phone crap!) Granted there are a few odd feature that I would have liked to have (extendable memory/video recording..etc) but no phone is perfect, and I would rather live without those functions than have to rely on a Nokia of all things! Motorola V 3 hearing noise is bit high comparing with a competition. You can get clearer voice, through the LG or Nokia mobile phones. It is not user friendly in terms of menu. You will need time to acustomise yourself to Motorola if you had other brand of mobile phones before. It is expensive too but apart from those things this is a nice phone. Lets put this in perpective for the lazy, chavvy, non educated. This phone is on a par with many top quality phones. Its fagile; of course it is, is doesn't pretend not to be -so don't drop it and keepit out of reach of your children. If you want to take lots of pictures - buy a camera - its a phone! It doesn't matter if it takes a little longer texting - how do you think the signal gets to where you want it - satelite access. And if you think beyond your index finger or thumb for a minute you will know that whatever speed you hit the keys - the speed your message goes is out of your HANDS! I found using it easy - but there again I see technology as a slave and not the other way around. Bluetooth: What problem are you having with bluetooth; I had none. Its about time some of you users stopped being loosers and set about learning a bit more about the technology and connectivity behind the item in your greasy paws. I got my V3 for free and with a good deal attached - its a means to communicate for me, not a decoration. To those that enjoy the phone - crack on. To those that don't - it was YOUR CHOICE, live with it!

If, like I was, you are upgrading and want a sexy phone that will last a while then don't go for this one. Basically, if you use it to talk a lot the nit's not 'too' bad and everyone loves holding it and looking at it but now we move on to the most critical aspect of the phone, the texting. Most people spend more time texting than they do actually talking on a phone (me included) so I just presumed after years of having Nokia's that everyone else would be making phones that can do simple things like texting easily. In fact I read several reviews of this phone before i bought it which mentioned texting and they said how great it was on this phone. They were WRONG! Texting on this phone for someone who is a fast texter will feel like being slowly squeezed to death by a yeti. It really is bad. SO SLOW. It has predictive texting which on my old Nokia 8210 was lightning fast, it nearly always picked the right word (like between 'of' and 'me' which are on the same keys but it always seemed to choose it in the right context!) and it allowed me to be as fast as i wanted to be without even looking at the screen. Now we move on like 5 years (thats how old my 8210 was) and i expect this stuff to be nailed down. But no, the V3 'tries' (bless it) to predict what you want and gets it wrong nearly every time. It sometimes refuses to learn words and when you do manage to coax it to learn one, don't expect it to remember it when you need it...it really is that bad. Also, the MAIN problem with the texting is the speed. It is SO SLOW I can't emphasize enough how slow it is. I love texting normally but with this phone I have gone right off it big-time. Just to send a short message is a chore and not something you can do without checking the screen every second while it plods on at one letter per second trying to catch up with your frantic fingers. It's PATHETIC - really. Don't believe anyone else on this, if you buy this phone for texting at least 50% of the time then you will HATE it. As for all the other functions, well personally I dont use my phone for work or synchronising with Outlook etc so it has a phonebook, i put names in it, job done. Also, the comment about not being able to put more than one number on a name is complete cock. you can (read the manual mate). Ok so hopefully you get a down-to-earth view of what your life with this phone will be like if you text a lot. The talking is great and clear and i like it for its looks but texters - BEWARE! P.S - At the time of writing this review, the Samsung D500 is the best phone without a doubt. 80mb of memory, FAST texting, cool looking. it's the one I should have got (and would have had if i wasn't let down by a guy on ebay - grr).

First of all, I would give this phone 5 stars just for its design, but when weighted agains the functions it has I downgraded it to 3 stars. I bought the V3 because it looks GREAT and feels great and because I needed a replacement phone since my SE K700i broke (it is now getting fixed for free, thank you SE!). Setting aside the good looks, light weight and compact dimension; if I compare its functions and easy of use to the SE K700i I'd have to say "looks can be deceiving". The layout of the menu is quite difficult to understand especially when you try to find functions quickly. A lot of common settings are deep inside sub-menus which is frustrating. One big dissapointment is the Bluetooth functions (Hands free and data transfer), in contrast with the K700i (Hands free, data transfer, remote screen, Media player controls, PPT Presentation director and desktop controls). Personally I regret buying it because the K700i outperforms it despite being a year older. Once the K700i i s fixed...the V3 goes on sale.

In a world where 3G is the new thing, it's refreshing to see that there still plenty of 2G mobiles out there trying to get our attention. The Motorola V3 has been advertised everywhere, you're bound to have seen an advert on TV or in a magazine. As already mentioned here, one of the biggest factors for getting this phone is the design. It's very slim, has a partial metal casing and the keypad is very different indeed. I've had comments on several occasions about the phone but remember this is based on looks alone. You've got the usual 2G features such as text, calls, picture messaging, camera etc. You can also watch video clips but you can't record video. It's not short on audio options either with a handsfree speakerphone (very clear), MP3 player and you can even assign MP3's as ringtones and message alerts. You are however restricted on these features due to the internal memory of only 5mb (which is not expandable). For me this isn't an issue as I don't take many pictures and I don't use my mobile to listen to MP3's. Using an MP3 trimming tool you can cut your tone to a 30 second clip and have several tones on the phone. I've got 5 mp3 ringtones, several mp3 message alerts and around 6 wallpapers. All of which were transfered to the phone via the included software and cable. For me, this phone does everything I need it to do. I've recently had a SonyEricsson P910i and a Nokia 6600, both of them blow the V3 out of the water in terms of features but for me the V3 does what I want. The MP3 tones and message alerts in particular are something I have become used to! In summary, this is by far one of the most stylish phones available ever. My model in Black looks fantastic although the silver is also just as nice if you prefer a less menacing look! Ups: Design, build quality, mp3's as tones and message alerts, size. Downs: Simple menu, not as user-friendly as some phones.

These phones are criminally fragile, not insured by many carriers in the states, but the warranty repair from Motorola is so pathetic that insurance isn't even relevant. I had a long discussion with a Motorola warranty repair person who said that the majority of repairs on the phone he has seen since he V3 was released were NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. He conceded there was a better than slight possibilty that the first time one drops the phone, it may break the very fragile lcd display - which voids the warranty - the screen is US$200. This is not true of plastic skinned phones, where the LCD display is imbedded in a plastic monocoque, making it more shock resistant. He said that, many of the phones he saw could not be fixed and those that were cost at least US$200!!! I bought two of them - turned them back in. I am not a wimp about this - I have owned tons of phones, from Blackberrys to Nokia 9000s - this is a complete EXCEPTION to what has been offerred - they should print BUYER BEWARE on these phones. In over 20 years of cell phone usage, I have never seen anything that was such a blatant RIPOFF. Other companies, such as Blackberry have fragile phones, but stand behind their phones. The 551, which is essentially the same phone in a more typical plastic case, is much more durable - like a normal cell phone. Back away, MOTO! AVOID AVOID AVOID - you will be sorry.

Bad point: poor memory for pics, I had a V300 b4 this and after a year of taking snaps all the time was still nowhere near filling the memory, but after 6 weeks on V3 I have over 30% filled. I decided to buy this phone because it was the best-looking and slimmest phone on the market at the time - it has a very smart silver appearance and those tactile metal buttons. I had no experience of Motorolas having been a dedicated Nokia man previously. I assumed that all phone manufacturers make logical, reliable and fast software to put in their phones these days... how wrong I was! However, good points are: 1. Appearance - slim and silvery 2. Voice call quality - better than a previous Nokia 2650 3. Reception - seems to hold on to signal even in the weakest areas 4. Quality screen - bright, sharp, colourful, plenty of screen area 5. Slim build 6. Battery life - I've always got 4-5 days on one charge with average usage Bad points: 1. MAJOR PROBLEM - phonebook is wholly illogical - cannot assign more than one number to a name, cannot choose between SIM or phone storage, both appear at the same time and the SIM entries take an age to appear, this section ruins the usability of thone phone for me and is the reason I am selling it after a few weeks use. Very difficult to navigate if you have more than a handful of numbers. Also insists on giving each entry a number - how you can remember these numbers is beyond me, so there's no point in them! 2. ITap texting nowhere near good enough - extremely slow so if you are a competent texter, you will get very frustrated waiting for words to appear on the screen, making it impossible to text without looking. Punctuation and symbols particularly difficult - press 1 and then right arrow 3 times for a full stop!!! Why??? 3. Speed - everything - even opening a menu - has a delay to it that is SO frustrating. Feels like wading through treacle in comparison to any other phone. How a manufacturer of high-speed, high quality chips for decades can make something as slow as this is uttery beyond me. 4. Crashes - has got stuck in camera mode a few times, necessitating battery removal to reset. Not good enough. 5. Golf game - frequently misreads your "start swing" button press as two presses - giving you a tiny swing and a ball movement of a few inches. This RUINS the game! Nothing more frustrating than being one shot up on your opponent and then losing because of the rubbish software! 6. Others have mentioned the tiny memory - 5MB - making this not a true multimedia phone, only enough for a few camera snapshots 7. Dirty - both big and small screens get very dirty very easily. Casing has kept clean though 7. Physically quite large especially when flipped open - the days of thumb texting are over! To sum up, this phone is a victory of style over substance. Well behind the best in many areas, only has that smart outward appearance going for it. Sure, flash it at your mates... just keep a Nokia in your back pocket for calling them! The moral - those who are tempted to stray from the path of Nokia by a slim Moto beauty - beware!

Happy to say that I have had none of the problems reported by anyone other than initial battery life a joke, especially with Bluetooth, but after several full charges it seems reasonable at around 3 days. Menus etc are every bit as intuitive as Nokia and I was up and running in no time. Bluetooth connectivity and voice dialling much better than my experience with Nokia, and no absurd 10 voice dial number limits either. Phone book problems - no problems. When i started using it i was a little apprehensive as i have always been used to user friendly models such as Nokias or Sony Ericssons. I also found the texting a little bit awkward at first but give it some time and you'll be typing away with ease. I also didnt like the menu system as there always seems to be menu upon menu. it keeps things neat and tidy but did make things a little tiresome. After a bit of playing around i noticed u could create shortcuts by pressing the menu button and assigning a key to a specific function. Its a shame that the manual supplied by orange didnt go into much detail for the more specialist functions. The camera is crisp and clear, the call quality is perfect and the external display is clear and uncluttered. You will not be disappointed if you get this phone. Its a beauty! Well done Motorola!!! What can I say? I love it! First tried the SE S700 and, although it looked great, no one could hear me talking, which is a bit of a problem on a phone. Decided instead to go for the V3 and I had my doubts. The last Motorola I had was the T720 and as it was the worst phone I've ever had I was concerned that the V3 would just be a thinner version. However, this is not the case at all. The phone looks cooler than any phone I've ever had. The keypad is even cooler, none of the plastic, rubbery usual stuff. Texting is a little awkward - I still haven't found an easy way to change a wrong word after I have entered it (the usual if/he problem) without having to go back and re-renter it. The menu isn't as good as the Sony Ericsson but a hell of a lot better than it used to be. If only you could put multiple numbers under one name in the phonebook it would be a lot better. Camera is as good as you should expect on a phone. If you want a mega pixel camera, buy a separate one is the best solution to that problem. In short there are little niggles with it (rotten ringtones, themes etc) but these are all merely decorative and can be easily changed. The actual build and fabric of the phone is faultless. So please don't bring the price down - I don't want everyone to have one! But if you get the opportunity, take it. You won't regret it!

After trying to do so using Quicktime Pro and iTunes (far more hassle then it's worth), I gave up until I found a hint online (posted by an anonymous forumite elsewhere) that lets you do the same thing in iTunes in half the time! First, in iTunes you need to go to Prefs, then Import, then change your import settings to mp3 (I used 112kbps, quality is less important than compactness for my ring tones). Then, find the song you want, and go through the song to figure out which part you want to be the ring tone (IE: 00:30.00 to 00:42.00) and then Command-I to get info on the song. Under the Options tab in the Get Info menu, check both start and stop time and enter the start and stop times for the ring tone section (IE: Start time 00:30.00 End Time 00:42.00). You may want to play it once to make sure it's well cropped. Then, just select the song in your library and go to Advanced -> Convert Selection to MP3. It will automatically convert ONLY the portion of the song that you selected to a new, cropped MP3 file, which can then be dragged onto the desktop and used. This is infinitely easier than trying to crop and convert in another application, and now you can have the coolest ring tone on the block in half the time! iTunes is free to download from www.apple.com/itunes For those that dont know its also a great music player and easy to use music cd burn software.

Well, what can I say!? If you can refer to a mobile phone as 'pure sex', then this phone fits the bill beautifully. It's slim, has no 'lumpy' number keys (they're chemically etched into the alloy metal casing) and is so light and easy to hold. When the light is bad, the keyboard lights up so you can see what you're doing. The keys are very responsive to the lightest touch and have a very high tech 'noise' when you press each key! Although the menu structure isn't perhaps as logical as Nokias, you very quickly get used to it and it all makes perfect sense. The colour screen is amazingly crystal clear, the sounds are great. My only gripes are:- 1) inability to upgrade the memory, 2) inability to store more than one number in one entry, 3) awful software provided with the phone (although you can upgrade this with a download for #20 and then it functions perfectly with MS Outlook). If you like sex appeal, sophistication and general 'wow' factor, get this phone - you won't be disappoined.

It looks very nice. Does anybody know what means PIM functionality? Is it possible to syncronize Outlook contact information (mobile telephone number, home number, office number, email address, home address, birthday and more)? And is it possible to go to the internet with laptop and v3?

This phone gets 4 points for its elegant appearance alone. The layout of the keys and the menu tree are nowhere near as convenient or intuitive as a Sony Ericsson, which sets the standard for useability. If it was it would get that extra point. The USB cable included with the phone makes it very easy to transfer files to and from a computer and the phone charges itself via the USB while you are doing so. You can make your own ringtones easily from MP3 files and you can sync the phone book and calendar with your Outlook address book and calendar (although I havn't tried that).
