I've had this phone for about 3 or 4 years now and it is only recently that it is beginning to slow down (i.e. texts don't always get sent when it tells me they have) which I think is rather impressive. Unfortunately I will have to find a new phone now, but I loved this model a lot, battery life was good, loved how slim it was and the key pad, and over the years it has withstood me dropping it countless times. The only flaw I would say is the camera and video, not great quality. If you want a nice basic phone that is pretty hardy, get this.

I could only store 1 song, but I really liked the fact that when you close the phone while taking a picture you can take a picture while looking at the mini screen. It looks really cute and sleek =) I wouldn't recomend this phone, unless you want a really hot and attractive one. =D

The screen is intact as is the keypad and camera. I'm pleased with the use I've had out of it. But now it has truly shaken off its mortal coil; the horse broke it. :( an outstanding phone and i'm as pleased as punch with it

I think the V3 is a design classic. It looks and feels great. Sadly, not long after the warranty ran out, mine developed a terminal fault. The battery discharges after ony a few hours (even if it was switched off!) I replaced the battery - not cheap at £20 - and it still runs out spectacularly fast. Basically a mobile with a few hours battery life is nort worth having, so I'm reluctantly going to have to lob it and get something else. Maybe I just got a duff one. :(

I had a V3 and lost it. I tried many others since then. But I am afraid to have to say that I never had a phone that was so clear anywhere you go. The signal is so clear that you never ever hear the noise. Secondly it needs the simplest steps to call or sms anyone. And that is what you primarily buy a mobile phone for. Thirdly the keyboard always works first time. Anyway it is extremely easy and reliable. Camera and music and all the rest of it, buy the V3i. Better still buy one of many others that have loads of staff - more often than not - they are jack of all trades, masters of none.

Also, my phone did come with a video camera - was told by the guy in the shop that this can be unlocked on ALL v3s! the only annoyances are the memory (buy a v3i if you want music) and that it sometimes slows up and freezes). for the prices you can get one of these for now, nothing compares.

The second one is operating very nicely but I started to use it as a camera more often, (photos sent to my email, then deleted)and just today, found it basically out of memory. I cleared all pictures from the memory in MY STUFF-PICTURES and all the old phone numbers stored and it doesn't give back any more memory and I don't know how to fix that. I bought my V3 at Lidl, must be a year or two ago now. Compared to my old second-hand Mars-bar style phones with Nicad batteries that needed charging every day it is in a completely different league. It does everything I want but has one major drawback, it is not splashproof/waterproof. (I discovered this when I bent down to remove leaves from the bilge of my boat). The phone fell out of my shirt pocket and landed in the water. Luckily just rainwater. Although I grabbed up the phone in a split second and dried it with a towel the phone became crackly and had to be dried out with a dehumidifier. I have been looking for a waterproof replacement for this phone but most of the "sportsmens phones" or "builders phones" look like something Fred Flintstone would use and aren't quad band etc.

I own a V3. It is rubbish! within a month it was faulty and the web site I bought it from refused to replace the handset saying it was out of warranty... this was due to the fact that I sent two emails off regarding the problems with the phone to the technical department and then followed this by a phone call. I am now looking for a new phone and would recommend you do the same if you are seriously considering buying this phone. As it happens my son also had problems (the same sort.. turning itself off (after a full charge), low or no battery after being charged (using different chargers). The battery has been replaced so it is a handset fault rather than a charger or battery fault. I would not consider buying another motorola. It looks like I have to give this phone a star whether I want to or not.. I give this - 10.

I am 12 years old and cannot afford to save up for a better one, so am stuck with possibly the world's worst phone. I find that the keys make marks on the screen, and the games are rubbish. the only good feature, in my opinion, is the ability to take self portraits by closing the phone in the photo viewfinder. This phone takes better pictures than most phones with 2MP cameras. It doesn't take 1280x1024 or more , just 640x480 but they look very clear and very sharp and not deformed. If u want more music or stuff, buy a media player(ipod touch rullz). It is a great phone with aluminium body, very well made. It's not stupid proof so don't sit on it or trow it out the window or drive ur car over it... it won't make it.It it falls from your hand, it will survive and no pieces(like back cover and battery) will fly around like nokia.Take care of it and it a very good phone.Still is after 4 years from it release.Way better then its price competitors these days.

It is May 2008 and i am fed up with new phones with worthless features that i dont need. So i decided to buy something that a)was affordable b)good looking c)good reviews I decided to go for V3 Razr. I had trouble finding it as it has been discontinued in many places. Finally i managed to get a brand new black one. Let me tell you this phone is the best phone for its value. It is far better than many of the modern rubbish that is out there with thousands of pointless features and at ridiculously high prices. The phone looks good, user friendly (Unlike SE rubbish), build quality and all for £50. So for no nonsense mobile phone users who want something practical and stylish i recommend this phone.

I've had my lilac V3 for a year and I'm still satisfied with it. Despite what the Carphone Warehouse salesperson said, my V3 CAN do video recording (and no I'm not mistaking it for the V3i, but best to try before you buy anyway) and the camera quality is good. You can open up the camera, close the flip screen and take self portraits! Other Pros: Ability to use MP3 ringtones, bluetooth, vibe and ring, caller display pic, speakerphone Cons: I only have about 5.5MB of space, enough to store two or three low quality songs if you can compress them alright, no radio, no external memory The battery seems to be good too, I can go about a week, a week and a bit between charges, and the great thing is if you have the software you can recharge using your USb cable and computer. If you're looking for a simple phone that looks stylish and does the basics + a bit extra, then this is for you.

I have had the original Razr phone from Motorola for almost 3 years now. And MAN I wish I had never bout the d**n thing! I've been STUCK with a piece of JUNK for 3 yrs! Here are my reasons why no one should get this phone!: - the battery always dies so quickly! - *the screen goes blank for DAYS on end! for no apparent reason! (i went to a rogers store to ask them what to do, and what they suggested worked at first. but then the next time my screen went blank, it didn't!!) - the pics/videos eat up the battery life even more! (I had to delete basically everything so that my phone would stop dying in the middle of every conversation! LITERALLY!) - when i take pics, only sometimes they turn out the way the look b4 i save them (when i go back to look in the phone photo album, ppls faces were all smeared and smuged, when the pic never looked that way after taking it!) - the phone randomly turns off (battery doesn't die, it just turns off)i've missed classes bcuz the alarm never went off bcuz the phone was "dead" - can't hold phone btween shoulder and cheek when i need to use my hands (i know there's a bluetooth for it, but i couldn't get the 2 to connect!) - NOT bluetooth compatable like they told me it was So there you have it, folks! I would NOT recommend this phone! Even tho it is quite good looking, that's ALL it HAS!

I have owned many phones. This is by far the worse. How anyone can think this phone is good is beyond me.. The internet available is slow and dated (compare it to the internet offered on the Three network and there is a HUGE difference) When typing a longer text, it cannot cope and it becomes very slow and the text u type appears seconds after on the screen after u type it. The memory is awful. I like to save my pictures and I am having to sacrifice them to make room. I hate that T9 dictionary comes on straight away and you dont have the option to turn it off forever. Hassle Video messages are only of a good length if they are filmed in the dark.. strange I know. Poor communication when hooking it up to the pc. Awful phone. Don't make the same mistake i made and fall for it's gorgeous design.

The phone is really attractive, i love the design. The screen is HUGE and thats one of the things i find most interesting about this phone. Some people say the keyboard is really cool. However, i find it a bit hard to type. I dont know why, maybe i havent got used to it yet. This phone was really cool at first when i got it and maybe its because i had to many messages in my inbox or what but even at first when i got it i would click the menu button and it would take like a 4 second delay to pop up and some don't know that till they catch on so then they click it 3 or 4 times trying to get it to pop up and then the phone freezes and resets to the phone home screen. it froze on me many many times it sucked. it had a few good benefits mine helf up to 600 messages in my inbox and out box before it would tell me it was full. one thing i could never get to work was the memory SD card i would put music on that card and i would put it in the phone but it would never recognize the card so i was not able to play music on it. another problem i had was sometimes sending a text message it would tell me it failed when i actually sent but it malfunctioned and sent it to that person like 3 or 4 times. sometimes i would be talking on the phone and it wo uld just shut off and turn back on itself and i had a full battery. I will say when i tells you the battery is going dead it may last up to 3 hours before it will actually die completely. Overall this phone is nice and dandy if you only using it for calling and recieving calls. the camera is not to bad but its not on top review. so this phone is good if you don't want to text, take pictures or listen to music but if you want all those don't get this phone cuz i see this as a piece of junk. plus it does not help that if you even accidently drop it once it will malfunction terribly in some way. so i do not recommend this phone. its terrible. with its compact size its nice and it thinness is good to but overall its a piece of junk.

Second and final complaint is that a lot dust has gathered under the screen over time, but that might be due to the fact I do a lot of joinery work (sawdust). my mom got this phone 2-days after it come out. she didnt have a clue how to use 1. i showed her how to send messeges and other things but she wouldent take it in. then she asked me to have it as i only had a nokia 6030 i think. i loved the shape of the phone and i was staring at it wen ut was charging. after it finished it turned on. it was a lot better than my old phone. i liked the camera, the music maker thing, it was great but then i looked at my memory and it said free space:2kb. i was like wat!!!!!. i had only taken a few photos and it was full. but i had to keep it because it was on contract wich my mum was paying for and she doesnt no how to use it. so i kept it. now theres one gd thing about it, thats the internet. its almost like computer internet.fantastic. but it was on contract. i thought it was free. i gt a message frm my mum saying"come here now." and i didnt no what she was on about. she was in tears. she gave me a letter from t-mobile. BILL:1 ,463.67p. ive nown it since this day. she asked for the phone and i gave it to her.i phoned up t-mobile and they said the normall bill is £15. i had spent 1,438.67p on internet.i didnt no what to say. thres no way that we could afford it. she went out of the house and left me my phone on the side. 2hours later she came home and asked me how to use it. i showed her and now shes better than me at it. the end best bits about the phone internet(warning:its irrasistible. dont go on it if on contract) music maker thing worst bits about it (now) camera memory video mp3 games

I bought the phone a few months ago. After the first month, I already had a big problem with the key board. It simply did not function. I got it repaired. Then after some time, many small problems appear, e.g. it switches off automatically all the time, and the power-off button does not work so I could not hang up the phone etc. One solution I discovered is to remove the battery and put it back again. It seems to work, but it is troublesome. I am really fed up with the phone.

There are all kinds of opinions about this phone; you hate it or you love it. I'm a lover. "I love this phone!" Mine is silver. After having the L6, I knew that I wanted a motorola phone with a clam shell. I had a phone from LG and had absolutely horrible reception...one of the first things I noticed was that I got wonderful reception. I've had the phone for about 4 months now and I have never missed a call, voicemail, or text like I was constantly battling with my phone from LG. I always thought the keys would be a problem. They aren't raised up very much and they are kind of hard to see but for someone who does a lot of texting, it is just fine. It may take a few times to get used to. This phone is very personable and easy to use. Before you know it, you'll have all the short cuts and hot keys to your liking. I didn't even have to read the manual and I could figure the thing out. I will admit that the camera isn't the best but it's a phone...NOT a camera so just get over it and go buy a digital camera if you want excellent quality. It's a phone and it's a perfect one at that. A lot of reviews complain about the structure and how it's not sturdy, but it is. It doesn't matter what phone you have; if you drop it on the concrete, step on it, send it through the washer and dryer then yes...it is going to fall apart (what phone wouldn't?). As long as you take care of your phone then you shouldn't have any problem really. A couple times I have thrown my phone on the front seat, getting stuff from the back seat of the car, and it has bounced out and onto the pavement but none the less, it's still in good shape minus a scratch here or there but nothing major and I always get compliments on the phone. Again, it does a wonderful job as a phone. It also has neat features (colorful / big screen, features, volume and ringtones) but if you want it to be a camera, MP3 player, or to take the place of your laptop then this phone isn't for you...

I hate this phone. This is probably the most annoying mobile i've owned. I've had to put up with this joke for 2 years It is a real pain. Firstly there is a loose connection between the upper and lower ends of the phone so if I drop it hat a small height even on a soft surface the screen turns plain white and i lose what I've been doing. The buttons are also very annoying and do not feel nice to press. I also do not like the fact that everytime i write a text i have to wait a long time for it to catch up. In terms of memory, you'd be lucky to get a song across that lasts for 2 mins. The software that comes with the phone is not at all user friendly and the battery that came with the phone would only last me 2 hours on a good day. Thats pretty poor. If you are going to buy this phone be aware that the screen WILL become damaged. This is due to the action of flipping your phone closed. The jagged buttons scratch the screen and indent the outlines into the display. Ano ther concern is when you answer a call. When someone is trying to call me I flip open the phone and press the green phone button. It takes about 5 seconds to respond to this command and by then the caller has gone to voicemail. The motorolla V3 is also likes to switch itself off in your pocket. To be fair this does not happen every time, but occasionally I've been waiting for important calls and realise suddenly that the handset's switched itself off. A poorly built phone. The cover that covers the battery on the back, is always close to falling off. From the first time I opened it and tried to close it again it has never shut properly since. Overall though, when you invest in a mobile phone you expect it to withold its level of quality for however long you use it for. My model has almost packed up. Its on the verge of dieing. My charger for the phone has also packed up so I had no choice but to buy another one. Thats another £25 gone. If you ask me, I think a 10 year old co uld have come up with a design better. This has put e off ever investing in a Motorola phone ever again.

Buttons making strange noises totally unrelated to tones, clicks, etc. Software that, well, performs like a C64. Now, i might sound bitter, but believe me, i am a big fan of these phones. My important point for users - I don't recommend using those crystal cases to protect this phone. I have cased my phone for more than six months and my phone has started to come out with a charcoally odour. My phone had no games, it had a basic camera, it was advertised saying it has an mp3, which isn't a lie, but on this mp3 i can hold 3 songs max (and they have to be very small memory size). But if your wanting a simply phone that looks good and you only need to text and ring people, and maybe a little of the video and picture taking then this phone is the perfect phone for you. If you want a full out gadget mobile and wouldn't care if it was the size of your hand then this is deffinatly NOT the phone to buy. Ok, I've got a RAZR V3, but I think mine's different, because it can definately video record but apparently nobody elses can?! maybe it's a newer version? (Flex version GSMV3xxT677LL18A), but anyway here's my opinion: It's an awesome phone to start with, and easy to use. Unfortunately (as myself and friends have found out), after a while it starts to screw up. Eg saying there is no reception when there obviously is and going to a white screen, randomly turning off, lagging, occasionally exiting half written txts, saying there is a new message when it has really just deleted part of a saved one... annoying stuff! Apart from those things I love it, but as it's starting to play up more and more I'm considering turning my back on Motorola phones and heading straight for Nokia. Overall it's not as good as I'd hope, mostly just because they get an increasing number of problems, which are incredibly frustrating. PS: someone said in a review that they can only store 40 - 50 entries in their phonebook, I currently have 137 entries on my phone (not SIM) and my memory meter is still on zero, so there's lots of room for contacts.)

Id just like to say the v3 CAN video record and if you spare some of the storage and dont waste it on pictures and games then you can just squeeze on your favourite track. So now your v3 has a music player, happy? Its an amazing phone. And when you are writing a text it gets better. With that predictive text thingy you can write a very long text in around 20 secs. If you are complaining about this phone you are a ten year old that likes showing off. 4 stars because you cant store a list of songs. (still amazing though)

Luckily & being on contract a week after it played up I got a call regarding an upgrade. I liked the phone despite it's failure so went for the V3i. True to form, 10 months later and it's playing up too... it won't hibernate when closed so the battery runs down every day and some functionality is lost. Basically a couple of bad experiences has put me off Motorola in general now - reliability is crucial for me. Sadly because otherwise I very much liked the phone. I had the V3 phone. At first I was like "Oh wow!" but after having it for a while it's not all what you think it is. The phone I had included a music player and video recorder but the video recorder only lasts for 10 seconds per film which is a bit rubbish. It is nice and thin so easy to put into a pocket but is quite big length-wise. The screen is quite big but you get used to it. The camera is OK. One MAJOR problem :- There is NO MEMORY CARD SLOT. And to make things even worse there is only 5MB internal memory. You are lucky to get 1 song on that. What's the point of haveing a music player when you can't listen to anything because there is 1 song taking up all your memory. You get a little bit tired of listening to the same ols song all the time. There are a couple of good games on the phone though. The phone does have bluetooth though - "Phew!" - but in a sense is useless because you can't really send anything because the internal memory restricts you to what yo u can have on your phone. Plus, the person that is sending stuff to yourself in some cases, welol let's just say "What's the point?" because you will have nowhere to store it anyway. To sum the V3 up : - The V3 is an OK phone if you are just wanting to use it for calling and texting and taking a couple of pictures on the phone. But, I would advise you not to get the phone if you are looking for something that makes you say "Oh Wow!" because it isn't that kind of phone.

I just want to say what a RUBBISH phone the Motorola V3 is. When it 1st came out I was like "OH WOW!" but after a while you see that it's not all it seems to be. I don't really know what to say as a good point here. Nothing really except the slimness of the phone. I have now bought a new phone due to the lack of goodness about this phone. One bad point is there is NO , I repeat NO space for a memory card. "What!?&*" OK, if there was a good amount of internal memory then it wouldn't be such an issue but the fact that there is only 5MB is a bit naff. There is an MP3 Player on the phone "Hallelujah - In some respects" as the internal memory will limit you to about like 1 SONG. OK, I know that you could listen to Take That all day but a think like after, 1 hour you get bored of Shine. Also, as you can get like 1 song on the phone, this limits the amount of photos you can take on the phone - and can i also add, the camera is a bit rubbish also. Don't get me started on the videos, GOD ALMIGHTY, the videos can only last 10 seconds. I repeat, 10 SECONDS. Yeah bbecause a 10 second film will really be good when you are trying to record something interesting. There is Bluetooth on the phone - "Phew!" - but what's the point of it when you can't even send anything because you have nothing on your phone because the song has taken over your phone. Then, if someone is sending you something - "Useless!" - they can't really beccause the 5MB memory restricts you to what you can have on your phone. There is also a USB cable and the Phone Software to put stuff from your computer to your phone - "Waste of time if you ask me" - because again the memory is limiting you. To sum up the phone in 1 word - Naff!! This phone is a complete and utter waste of space. I have never experienced a phone like this. I will never ever buy another Motorola Phone If you are wanting a phone to use for calls and texts then I suppose the phone is OK in that way but not for all you high-tec mobile phone people.

Motorolla V3 I have it now over 2 years and taken it abroad on holidays to France and the USA. Quadband brilliant. It is slim and when on business trips weddings etc you can slip it into a breast pocket and it is not bulky and everone used to comment on the sexy phone. Now the bad news! It has a very poor batterry life. The back which covers the batterry tends to come off quite easily and if you dare drop it! After a few falls the back doesn't quite fit as it used to. Of late I have discovered that it is very unreliable and tends to give up without warning and now the outer screen on the lid seems to have died. I think this is typical of reports from other users of similar phones. I have no axe to grind except that the older bulkier clam shell Motorolla's rarely gave me any trouble. I am seriously considering a Sony Ericsson P990i which by the sound of things not only looks the part but delivers the goods! Perhaps I may go for a Nokia instead.

I had no problem with it until 2 months of having it. It did the same thing again!!!!! Come on change this problem!

The price had dropped to $299. Everything O.K until last week : a weird problem developed!! If I switch the phone off at night its fine the next day. If I leave it on 24 hrs all the numeric keys stop working and the selection (bottom of screen) starts to flash when OK or Back is selected. My wife's 4 year old model is still fine.

look folks, ive had this fone for over a year now, and it is really getting on my nerves. if anyone is thinking of buying one, please save yourselves. even i would recommened a nokia, and i hate them. WHERE TO START? theres no memory, i have to make do with 30 second clips, bluetooth searches take way to long, the processor is so small sending stuff can take ages. dan sent me a song, it took an hour. no joke. the battery lasts 3 days, but takes about an hour to charge. the camera sucks. sometimes it will go in to a negative shot for no reason. and you can take videos, but only 30 second long videos. also, if u break the keypad, youre screwed. go and get a new fone. also, two major problems. because the antenna is so small, you can hardly get a decent signal. and the fone is known to shut down for no reason. this has happened alot recently. motorola say theyve fixed the problem, but i doubt they have. you cannot extend the memory either, as there is no slot for a memory card. now some good things, i came up with 5. you can text people, not just with words, but pictures! wow! it has bluetooth, although a rather sucky interface. it has a camera, which sucks, but it has one! it can connect to the internet, but it takes to long. and it has a calculator and a calender. also, i had to delete my java games to create more memory, thats how bad this fone is. just turn around and dont buy one. save yourself!

The speaker also broke so now when my friends call me they think im being rude becauce i cant respond. The keypad is rubbish! its broken completely now but first the hash key went. Also the select button just fell off, and ive had this phone what 6 months if that! It doesn't always send your messages and is slow. Oh and the inbox fills up so quickly that i am constantly deleting old messages, so if u have friends, you will find it a pain. The colour fades off easily and the scream has lots of glare. Motorola V3 is an awsome phone. It's easy to use and have every feature I need. This is a fantastic phone. Not only does it feature a bright and beautiful 262k screen, a fantastic camera and a great sound throughout, bu it is one of the thinnest phones in the world (if not the thinnest). It fits very comfertably into your hand despite it's wideness but it is also very light. Only improvements would be video capture and more memory, although i'm suprised how much they managed to fit into this small package. Beware of the software that comes with it, however, as it is a bit dodgy and may have you roaming the world wide web in search of an answer to your problem, but i personally don't think it should put you off from buying this beautiful piece of hardware.

I have not had any trouble with it "so far" althought I have read horror stories of the phone switching it's self off when it pleases, and also blocking it's self. I have not had that experience. The only down side to this phone is memory space... it's not wonderful. and that's annoying because if you want a really cool ring tone that's say 2893Kb you have to delete like half your picture @ video files! And also as i said earlier it's so slim and light that you can forget it's in your pocket and think you've lost it!

Its a good phone but when i first saw it,it really made me want to buy it but now i wish i had neva bought it. The camera camera could be improved from vga to megapixel. Motorola should have neva have even thought about making this phone. the good points of the phone are that it has a brilliant 262k screen and doesnt get dirty like the nokia 6230i. the motorola v3i is much better though because it has a good camera and expandable memory and an mp3 player. when someone rings you on the phone or you ring them the quality of the sound is very good. this phone isnt designed for music and its for people who dont need a lot of memory on there phone and who dont use a lot. If you want a simmple and low memory phone go for this one. it only has 5.5mb of memory and that is rubbish compared to the samsung d500 with an amazing 80mb in built. another good thing is that its qiute lite its not a brick. Compare it to other makes like sony ericsson nokia and samsung it is rubbish. im looking for another phone such as the sony ericsson k800i.

I have had this phone less than a year and it has now gone dead. At first all was good with this phone. Battery life is fab!, just the sort of thing i personally need. Camera could be much better as it is only 0.3mp. Mp3 is good because you can close the screen but you can't hold more than 5 songs. Messages send well but you can't have more than 40 messages before the phone is telling you that it is running out of storage. Skins of the phone are very boring as well. It does however connect to the computer very well, i have had no trouble with that. The reason i have given it one star is because i except my phone to last much longer than a year and for the price i paid for it i was hoping it would do just that. Great phone if you update alot but not a long term phone and no expandable memory.

Everyone seems to be ranting about how great the Motorolla V3 is, frankly, I'm at a loss. I think its a terrible handset. They have completely overlooked the simplest of features that are most necessary to analyse the biggest problem with this handset. SMS is first saved to the outbox and then delivered from this location in the handset to the SMSC on your GSM network. so heres the problem: if you happen to have a lack of sufficient space in your outbox, it cant complete the cycle and the SMS doesnt send. The outbox and the inbox have to be emptied regularly just to have enough paging memory to perform the simplest of tasks, even a rather large contact list can prevent the performing of this task successfully. On top of which, there is no facility for checking your current memory capacity status in any of the menus. I work for a mobile network as a technical support agent and can assure you we get more calls about this handset than any other and cant wait for the da y that we no longer support or supply this handset.

He sent it back to Motorola and they fixed it, well so they said. He got it back and it stopped working again so he sent it back and they replaced it. He had enough with the problems so he gave it to me, and i have had nothing but problems. It hardly stores any messages 70 i think, it often freezes and you have to pull the battery out, the numbers have stopped working, it often goes mental flicking through the profiles and ringtones while the phone is closed and this has all been in the space of 6 months!!! A few of my friends have the same phone and they have had nothing but problems as well. I would have like a 1.3 megapixel and up camera. Recently though, my phone has started to break where the screen will al of a sudden go white and I have to wait like 10 or 15 minutes till i can use it again. Though it's true, if you are an sms time spender guy and have your phone open all time, the battery goes off quite quick. If you are not, as I am, then It doese all you need it to do. For me, the down part is the memory. It is not sufficent for my need and have to delete some text message quite often to keep the space needed for more use. Cant wait for my 18 month contract to end. V3 looks good and is certainly small, but that about it! Can be very slow, camera is basic, cant get on with Motorola menu. Slow to text. Phone has crashed many times, internal mouthpiece microphone often fails. Keypad backlight failed. Battery often fails to last 24 hours, with or without use....Golf game quite good though...!Will now try Sony Ericcson.....

The V3 is a good phone. I've had mine for two years now and experienced few problems with it. Most people will buy this phone because of its sharp looks - the trade off is that it has a poor battery life. Be careful not to throw it about too much as well. The features are decent and generally easy to use, though I find texting easier using Nokias or Sony Ericssons. The camera is clearly outdated now, but was acceptable in its day.

The screen is brilliant , in the right light, all summer i was constantly looking for shade because i could barely see the screen. The phonebook takes ages to scroll through and this thing eats batterys by the bucket load i was on my second after 7 months of having it. The best thing about is that if you drop it in water it'll dry out and keep working. My advice is to go for a nokia or samsung or sharp in my opinion are the best. I got this phone a year ago because my mum got it on contract but found it hard to control so she gave it to me. I loved it at first and everyone had this phone so it got abit common. I used to go in jaccuzi with all my friends and take pics but one day I came out of the jaccuzi and the half of the keys wouldnt work on my phone so I couldnt ring anyone cause 7 8 9 wouldnt work or press the down button. I know that was my fault but if the keypad had a protective covering this might not of worked. Ive lost the back of my phone which makes the phone vunrable. When uploading pictures to the pc it usually lost conectivity but it uploaded them all in the end. But dont even get me started on downloading music on the phone, One song downloaded on the thing and all the memory is gone so I cant take pics, So I have to use one of the "already in the phone" ringtones which are rubbish tbh. The phone's too common to show it off it's like "yer that's so old everyones got one" So it's not exac tly unique. But what do you expet with it being so thin? It can't have everything! especially memory. I don't care about the phonebook tihng nowts wrong with phonebook thing lol. Who would use this as a business phone? I mean if you were smart enough you would of figured out that it's too thin to have alot of memory. I bet half of these people you review this phone are only "bigging" the phone up cause they are from motorola or jst have nothing best to do other than make people buy a rubbish phone. My phone has alot of scratches and no back so it looks tacky. But overall it's a gd phone for uploading pics to pc if u like to share pics but other than that, It's just not a good phone sorry.

The menu system is icon driven (although Motorola have continued their tradition of allowing users to change almost every aspect of the menu system including having a more traditional list if you prefer) and can be reordered how you like so you don't have to learn a whole new set up. The downside of the Motorola interface is that it can occasionally freeze, that said this rarely causes huge problems and usually is over in a few seconds. Furthermore (despite some previous reviews which were so poorly written grammatically I can only assume the reviewees were as confused by the phone as they were by English) the phone can link with the PC (try Motor ola Phone Tools provided with some models) and easily accepts mp3 ringtones (Phone Tools has its own editing software) and wallpapers. With only 5MB of memory the phone obviously won't accept full songs in decent quality but then if you're looking for an mp3 player try the V3i which has 10mb internal memory and an SD slot. This phone isn't for that! Ok last word because I am strating to bore myself: The phone is well constructed and has many good features. With 5mb memory the video camera (yes there is one) is a novelty at best, but the other features work well in what is basically a stylish but basic phone. However for those hung up on features and gadgets you should head elsewhere - this phone won't do it for you, but that doesn't mean this phone sucks!! For those of us still wanting a phone to ring people and send texts while looking a little stylish the Razr is ideal!

Also, ppl moan about video capture, mine does this - I don't know why - but I was filming the kids yesterday on video and all OK on playback, I set from MMS to maximum under video settings. I don't know if this is also due to being on Virgin. Previously I used a Blackberry 7230 and had this phone's software "sussed" witin an evening, so cannot be that bad - OK slight delay accessing software, but this is a phone NOT a PDA! I can state I am VERY impressed with this piece of kit (and price £90.00)and got this one as my brother has had this phone for awhile also and also recommends. Go get and enjoy (LOL)..

The battery life is extremekly poor and i could not use it too much in 1 day or the battery would run out. Also, the signal cuts out for no apparent reason, I have had other phones on the same netwok in the same place and they have been just fine! When i got this phone a few months back i was really please i got it in pink, it looks great. It was my first camera phone so i don't really know what to say about it. The normal razer V3's aren't supposed to have video recording, but when i opened the box and turned my phone on it seems it has which i was really surprised about. It has a range of games, but only 2 i like - billiards and golf. The ohers seem a wste of space as you don't really need them. It is easy to text on this phone as the keys are easy to use. The phone seems really wide but in your hand it is so comfortable you wouldn't notice it was there! Although the camera is little quality, you can get some really good pictures from it! The office tools are really good - and i have found out that the L7 doesn't have some of the features that the V3 does! There are a few bad points though - the keypage sometimes prints its outline of the screen when you shud it and the marks are quite hard to get off! The side buttons are really sesitive so in a lesson you could accidently press a button and it would make a really loud beep. It's really hard to set up the computer software, which is a shame as i would like to get my pictures on to my computer but i can't as i can't use the software. The case scratches really easily which ruins the matalic brilliance and its a shame it doesn't have a editing thing like picture DJ or something - but the seem to only come from vodaphone phones. Other than those points its a really awesome phone!

It is so slow when writing text messages and the camera lacks quality. I have had it for 4 months now and the software has just failed on me, currently, i am trying to get it fixed by motorola and it seems i'm not the only one that's had problems. The bluetooth has so many problems picking up other phones, it seems there is no point having it on there. The only advantage to this phone is that it connects to your computer, and the program it uses to do this is simple and easy to use. The pre-set ringtones are polyphonic but sound monophonic. You're very limited when it comes to customising the phone, with around 3 skins and no option to modify the colours. When you connect this phone to a computer, you have to use the software which comes with it on CD. There's no USB drag-and-drop. If you to use this phone on another network, you will have to pay £30. I tried unlocking it with my cable and it doesn't work. The phone is paper-thin which is good and looks very stylish. It's easy to navigate through the menus and customise the icons. After reading quite a few reviews about this phone, I have noticed a lot of people whining on about the lack of memory, why? I had a nokia 6610i before I purchased this phone, it only had a 4mb memory and that not only was capable of handling numerous numbers, it also had plenty of space for photos, which I had over 50 of in it! The razr has plenty of memory (if you do use it all up you can always use the mobile tool provided to transfer some stuff to you pc) unless ofcourse you want to download whole albums but whats the point of that? If you want to listen to music on the move, get an mp3 player! Also I have heard lots of people moaning about the in phone menus being too complicated. I have found it very easy to navigate! At first I was a bit lost since I am used to the nokia way but I soon got used to it! If you ask me the people who moan are too stupid to understand how to use it, you know what they say..... a bad workman always blames his tools! Menu's, you have to be an expert on the times crossword to understand the logic of how the menu is put together. When you think you have found the menu you want(after having slayed the dragon and rescued the princess) then it is normally dosen't contain all the logical functions you expect. I defy anyone without a Doctorate in Unified Theory to try and pair with another device using bluetooth. Keyboard is really pretty, and nice and easy to use, but I get fed-up playing "guess if I have switched the phone on/off" every day. This phone is pants. All show, no go!

I heard this phone being refered to as many things - 'Flimsey', 'Poor quality', 'Rubbish!' - but I disagree. This phone is my no means flimsey. I'm a sucker for my gadgets, and though I try to take the best care of them I fail miserabley. Two week after purchasing this phone (and having dropped it countless times already) I topped it all off by dumping it in a blow of water. I had no hopes for it. Like many people, I thought the phone was a little too 'flimsey' for it to cope, and I expected the worst. Nevertheless, I didn't give up all hope and I sat it out to dry for a day or two before attepmting to switch it on again...and lo and behold - it worked perfectly! Four months later and it's still working like a dream. As for the 'poor quality' and 'Rubbish!' side of things, I don't know where to begin counteracting. The phone is better than I've seen for years! It has a stunning body and the interface is very user friendly. It may take a little fiddling around, but in no time, you can customise it to just the way you like (shame on you people who give up before trying and then call the phone crap!) Granted there are a few odd feature that I would have liked to have (extendable memory/video recording..etc) but no phone is perfect, and I would rather live without those functions than have to rely on a Nokia of all things! For me the phone was worth every penny!

Lets put this in perpective for the lazy, chavvy, non educated. This phone is on a par with many top quality phones. Its fagile; of course it is, is doesn't pretend not to be -so don't drop it and keepit out of reach of your children. If you want to take lots of pictures - buy a camera - its a phone! It doesn't matter if it takes a little longer texting - how do you think the signal gets to where you want it - satelite access. And if you think beyond your index finger or thumb for a minute you will know that whatever speed you hit the keys - the speed your message goes is out of your HANDS! I found using it easy - but there again I see technology as a slave and not the other way around. Bluetooth: What problem are you having with bluetooth; I had none. Its about time some of you users stopped being loosers and set about learning a bit more about the technology and connectivity behind the item in your greasy paws. I got my V3 for free and with a good deal attached - its a means to communicate for me, not a decoration. To those that enjoy the phone - crack on. To those that don't - it was YOUR CHOICE, live with it!

If, like I was, you are upgrading and want a sexy phone that will last a while then don't go for this one. Basically, if you use it to talk a lot the nit's not 'too' bad and everyone loves holding it and looking at it but now we move on to the most critical aspect of the phone, the texting. Most people spend more time texting than they do actually talking on a phone (me included) so I just presumed after years of having Nokia's that everyone else would be making phones that can do simple things like texting easily. In fact I read several reviews of this phone before i bought it which mentioned texting and they said how great it was on this phone. They were WRONG! Texting on this phone for someone who is a fast texter will feel like being slowly squeezed to death by a yeti. It really is bad. SO SLOW. It has predictive texting which on my old Nokia 8210 was lightning fast, it nearly always picked the right word (like between 'of' and 'me' which are on the same keys but it always seemed to choose it in the right context!) and it allowed me to be as fast as i wanted to be without even looking at the screen. Now we move on like 5 years (thats how old my 8210 was) and i expect this stuff to be nailed down. But no, the V3 'tries' (bless it) to predict what you want and gets it wrong nearly every time. It sometimes refuses to learn words and when you do manage to coax it to learn one, don't expect it to remember it when you need it...it really is that bad. Also, the MAIN problem with the texting is the speed. It is SO SLOW I can't emphasize enough how slow it is. I love texting normally but with this phone I have gone right off it big-time. Just to send a short message is a chore and not something you can do without checking the screen every second while it plods on at one letter per second trying to catch up with your frantic fingers. It's PATHETIC - really. Don't believe anyone else on this, if you buy this phone for texting at least 50% of the time then you will HATE it. As for all the other functions, well personally I dont use my phone for work or synchronising with Outlook etc so it has a phonebook, i put names in it, job done. Also, the comment about not being able to put more than one number on a name is complete cock. you can (read the manual mate). Ok so hopefully you get a down-to-earth view of what your life with this phone will be like if you text a lot. The talking is great and clear and i like it for its looks but texters - BEWARE! P.S - At the time of writing this review, the Samsung D500 is the best phone without a doubt. 80mb of memory, FAST texting, cool looking. it's the one I should have got (and would have had if i wasn't let down by a guy on ebay - grr).

First of all, I would give this phone 5 stars just for its design, but when weighted agains the functions it has I downgraded it to 3 stars. I bought the V3 because it looks GREAT and feels great and because I needed a replacement phone since my SE K700i broke (it is now getting fixed for free, thank you SE!). Setting aside the good looks, light weight and compact dimension; if I compare its functions and easy of use to the SE K700i I'd have to say "looks can be deceiving". The layout of the menu is quite difficult to understand especially when you try to find functions quickly. A lot of common settings are deep inside sub-menus which is frustrating. One big dissapointment is the Bluetooth functions (Hands free and data transfer), in contrast with the K700i (Hands free, data transfer, remote screen, Media player controls, PPT Presentation director and desktop controls). Personally I regret buying it because the K700i outperforms it despite being a year older. Once the K700i i s fixed...the V3 goes on sale.

These phones are criminally fragile, not insured by many carriers in the states, but the warranty repair from Motorola is so pathetic that insurance isn't even relevant. I had a long discussion with a Motorola warranty repair person who said that the majority of repairs on the phone he has seen since he V3 was released were NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. He conceded there was a better than slight possibilty that the first time one drops the phone, it may break the very fragile lcd display - which voids the warranty - the screen is US$200. This is not true of plastic skinned phones, where the LCD display is imbedded in a plastic monocoque, making it more shock resistant. He said that, many of the phones he saw could not be fixed and those that were cost at least US$200!!! I bought two of them - turned them back in. I am not a wimp about this - I have owned tons of phones, from Blackberrys to Nokia 9000s - this is a complete EXCEPTION to what has been offerred - they should print BUYER BEWARE on these phones. In over 20 years of cell phone usage, I have never seen anything that was such a blatant RIPOFF. Other companies, such as Blackberry have fragile phones, but stand behind their phones. The 551, which is essentially the same phone in a more typical plastic case, is much more durable - like a normal cell phone. Back away, MOTO! AVOID AVOID AVOID - you will be sorry.

In a world where 3G is the new thing, it's refreshing to see that there still plenty of 2G mobiles out there trying to get our attention. The Motorola V3 has been advertised everywhere, you're bound to have seen an advert on TV or in a magazine. As already mentioned here, one of the biggest factors for getting this phone is the design. It's very slim, has a partial metal casing and the keypad is very different indeed. I've had comments on several occasions about the phone but remember this is based on looks alone. You've got the usual 2G features such as text, calls, picture messaging, camera etc. You can also watch video clips but you can't record video. It's not short on audio options either with a handsfree speakerphone (very clear), MP3 player and you can even assign MP3's as ringtones and message alerts. You are however restricted on these features due to the internal memory of only 5mb (which is not expandable). For me this isn't an issue as I don't take many pictures and I don't use my mobile to listen to MP3's. Using an MP3 trimming tool you can cut your tone to a 30 second clip and have several tones on the phone. I've got 5 mp3 ringtones, several mp3 message alerts and around 6 wallpapers. All of which were transfered to the phone via the included software and cable. For me, this phone does everything I need it to do. I've recently had a SonyEricsson P910i and a Nokia 6600, both of them blow the V3 out of the water in terms of features but for me the V3 does what I want. The MP3 tones and message alerts in particular are something I have become used to! In summary, this is by far one of the most stylish phones available ever. My model in Black looks fantastic although the silver is also just as nice if you prefer a less menacing look! Ups: Design, build quality, mp3's as tones and message alerts, size. Downs: Simple menu, not as user-friendly as some phones.

I decided to buy this phone because it was the best-looking and slimmest phone on the market at the time - it has a very smart silver appearance and those tactile metal buttons. I had no experience of Motorolas having been a dedicated Nokia man previously. I assumed that all phone manufacturers make logical, reliable and fast software to put in their phones these days... how wrong I was! However, good points are: 1. Appearance - slim and silvery 2. Voice call quality - better than a previous Nokia 2650 3. Reception - seems to hold on to signal even in the weakest areas 4. Quality screen - bright, sharp, colourful, plenty of screen area 5. Slim build 6. Battery life - I've always got 4-5 days on one charge with average usage Bad points: 1. MAJOR PROBLEM - phonebook is wholly illogical - cannot assign more than one number to a name, cannot choose between SIM or phone storage, both appear at the same time and the SIM entries take an age to appear, this section ruins the usability of thone phone for me and is the reason I am selling it after a few weeks use. Very difficult to navigate if you have more than a handful of numbers. Also insists on giving each entry a number - how you can remember these numbers is beyond me, so there's no point in them! 2. ITap texting nowhere near good enough - extremely slow so if you are a competent texter, you will get very frustrated waiting for words to appear on the screen, making it impossible to text without looking. Punctuation and symbols particularly difficult - press 1 and then right arrow 3 times for a full stop!!! Why??? 3. Speed - everything - even opening a menu - has a delay to it that is SO frustrating. Feels like wading through treacle in comparison to any other phone. How a manufacturer of high-speed, high quality chips for decades can make something as slow as this is uttery beyond me. 4. Crashes - has got stuck in camera mode a few times, necessitating battery removal to reset. Not good enough. 5. Golf game - frequently misreads your "start swing" button press as two presses - giving you a tiny swing and a ball movement of a few inches. This RUINS the game! Nothing more frustrating than being one shot up on your opponent and then losing because of the rubbish software! 6. Others have mentioned the tiny memory - 5MB - making this not a true multimedia phone, only enough for a few camera snapshots 7. Dirty - both big and small screens get very dirty very easily. Casing has kept clean though 7. Physically quite large especially when flipped open - the days of thumb texting are over! To sum up, this phone is a victory of style over substance. Well behind the best in many areas, only has that smart outward appearance going for it. Sure, flash it at your mates... just keep a Nokia in your back pocket for calling them! The moral - those who are tempted to stray from the path of Nokia by a slim Moto beauty - beware!

Happy to say that I have had none of the problems reported by anyone other than initial battery life a joke, especially with Bluetooth, but after several full charges it seems reasonable at around 3 days. The screen is bright and clear, the keypad is satisfying and the dimensions are mind-boggling! When i started using it i was a little apprehensive as i have always been used to user friendly models such as Nokias or Sony Ericssons. I also found the texting a little bit awkward at first but give it some time and you'll be typing away with ease. I also didnt like the menu system as there always seems to be menu upon menu. it keeps things neat and tidy but did make things a little tiresome. After a bit of playing around i noticed u could create shortcuts by pressing the menu button and assigning a key to a specific function. Its a shame that the manual supplied by orange didnt go into much detail for the more specialist functions. The camera is crisp and clear, the call quality is perfect and the external display is clear and uncluttered. You will not be disappointed if you get this phone. Its a beauty! Well done Motorola!!!
