The Motorola L7, also known as the Motorola SLVR is a super slim mid-range camera phone at just 11.5mm thickness and weighing only 96g, it is nice and light.
The camera is an integrated VGA with 4 x digital zoom, a typical standard for a phone within this price range. It also has video recording functionality.
The display is of a high standard with a resolution of 176 x 220 and supports 262k colours. It has a TFT screen which means that it is viewable in bright sunshine and is among the best around at the moment in comparison with other mid-range phones.
The phone comes equipped with a music player that supports MP3 or AAC formats. This is good although it does not have a FM radio like other phones in this budget. The memory is good enough to support storage of music files as well as others as it has the option to expand the 5MB of internal memory to up to 512 MB with an external memory card. The L7 is able to use MP3's as ringtones.
Connectivity options are very good with Bluetooth and USB. The Bluetooth option allows you to wirelessly connect to another Bluetooth device up to 10 metres apart whilst the USB connection requires a cable to connect to a PC.
Connecting to the internet is done via a GPRS. This in comparison with others in this price range is below average as many phones have a significantly faster transfer rate with 3G or EDGE which are about three times faster or more.
The battery talk time is 345 hours which is amongst the highest within the mid-range phones. It works on a quad-band operating frequency meaning it will work in Europe, America and Japan.
Overall, this is a very good mid range phone with no real gripes, so we would recommend it.

I love this phone! I got it just 5 day's ago and already it's doing very well for me, i bought it second hand on ebay for just �60 which is a bargain and it came with no scratches or damages the previous owner took good care of it and so will i. It's memory isn't that great nor is it VGA camera, but the camera does it's job and the memory is great as long as you have a micro sd memory card to go in the L7. Screen is exellent and works in the sunshine, battery life is also exellent. I recomended this phone for anyone looking for a not old phone,good value for money,like's music,stylish with metal keypad precission cut and a motorola manufactured phone. I will be keeping mine for yaers to come. If it dies i will be buying another L7...i love this phone. :)

Really hate this phone. i was really excited when i got this phone. after 1 year, it really gave me negative feedbacks, it hangs when ever i surf the internet and have to take out the battery, camera quality stinks, i.e. blurred from the corners, the size of the picture reduces when you capture a "zoomed" image, the screen goes blank when it falls, then you have to go to the care center to install new software, the speed of the bluetooth is very very slow, it cannot open images having the resolution more than 640x480, cannot play files having bit rate higher than 192kbps, the center key falls of easily and there are many other problems as well. this phone is just a toy, not a phone. well done motorola, well done!

The L7 is a good phone if you want something easy to use, simple and compact. You can get it quite cheap so if simplicity is your thing then get this phone. Downsides are the camera, the bluetooth, the internet. 4/5

I dont like this cellphone..i used to have it,i changed it because it played the music wrong and it didnt display the pictures right and i bought a sony ericcson k550i with much better quality and the k550i was cheaper!

this phone is garbage the center dial came off, the battery only works after i shoved a starburst wrapper underneath in it, in cold weather the key pad doesnt work and the volume raises by itself causing it to beep really loud. and it only works while connected to the charger other then that its a reallllly great phone ;)

Had this fone for a while now. Everything is going wrong - Won't turn off properly, Screen flickers when locked and fone gets extremely warm when playing music. Camera is ok, music is fine.

I found this found to be complete garbage. The speaker function is slow low in volume that its barely audible, the display screen can not be viewed in daylight. When talking on the phone it has such a delay that it sounds as if your talking to someone from another country. Very frustrating to hold a conversation. My wife and kids have the RAZOR on Cingular (which is what I am on) and they do not have ANY of these problems, so its not the provider. I have also gone to the dealer to have the main components switched out, but the exact same issues continue. I would NOT recommend this phone. It is 100% garbage.

I bought my first sliver in October of 2007, and had to get a replacement phone 4 months later due to a button cover falling off. So I got my second sliver replacement in April 2008, it was great until In August 2008 the button covers started to fall off once again. This time it wouldn't be replaced for free, it fact they wanted me to pay more then the phone itself cost me to replace it. and this was with absolutely not water or physical damage to this phone.

It's September 2008. I'm surprised the L7 is still available. I have found this phone to be a self-posessed piece of inhuman technology completed by a shape that does not fit in the hand comfortably. It has been unreliable - often showing 'the white screen of death' and doesn't appear to have much in the way of battery capacity despite the specifications. Apart from that, I find it slow, I mean SLOW to start up.

A superb phone and prices are now so low it makes sense to get hold of one ASAP. I got mine from an ebay uk seller for just �50! It was on Orange UK and thus had their own particular highly annoying brand of corporate graphics smeared all over the graphic interface, so I cabled it up to my PC, unlocked and debranded it (it now runs on O2!). If you like the Motorola menu system don't mind an audio output that is good without being anything really special, then this is for you. It really IS like the V3i but without the weakness of being a flip phone. Possibly the best mobile I've had for a long time

I like the Motorola SLVR - however i have it in the red version, gd phone. I find it abit frustrating that i can't have a 1G memory card but apart from that its very nice, looks stylish and performs well.

there are some default web sessions in the internet set up.but there is no option to delet any of them.thats y i cant reconfigure/save new settings from my local service provider.consequently i just can send mms.i only could save the wap settings.and the gprs speed is very slow though it says thet is is gprs class 10(!).can anybody help me 2 get rid of these probs. chao

THIS PHONE SUCKS!!! i have had two. the second one was my moms phone and it is a refurbished one because they stopped making it. when we got them the people at the store wont even supposed offer insurance but they did anyway. so when i went swimming for 15 minutes with my first one, they wont replace it because they dont cover water damage so i got stuck with a dead phone, but like Jesus, 3 days later it came back to life after being plugged in for the 3 days. it was slow but it still worked. my moms was only in water for a little bit but she still got a new one just because she had been paying insurance. i got hers because she got an iPhone. anyways i dont like the phone because i drop it once from like 3 ft. from the ground, then i fall asleep on it and now it freezes before i can even get to the main screen. i cant call or receive calls. IT SUCKS!

Great little phone for the price! I switched to L7 from Treo 650 because I didn't want to carry a heavy computer in my pocket. This phone isn't too small, but VERY concealable. No holster needed, just slip in your pocket. I modded the flash (software) to eliminate the limitations, I now browse on the Edge internet system, have up-to-date icons and faster menu selection. If you get this phone, it is fine like it is, or mod it and make it your own. Music player is hands down, the simplist, least complicated, and never freezes up. Good sound quality through headphones. YOU MUST GET SD CARD to use true functionality of phone!

i had this phone for a year. you cant listen to the music that has the bitrate over 192 kbps! has no radio, is not symbian, cannot load any theme by yourself, small internal memory, bad quality images and cannot set any song in the memory card as the ringtone.

I have got he motorola L7 but i want to change it for the sony ericson 910i the l7 has poor memery it is heavy the screen scrathes very easily i do like the smart key button and if you get into it and read the hand book you can really make this phone your own by personising the lay the wallpaper the keys and much more but however i have hadthis phone for nearly 2 years iand the circle main button is comming off i do think it is good value for money though because i bought mine in 2006 for �80

I HAVE MY MOTOROLA SLVR L7 FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW AND I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE PHONE EXCEPT THE CAMERA ISN'T VERY GOOD BUT THE IMAGES ARE STILL VIEWABLE SO IT'S NOT THAT BAD AND THE VIDEO RECORDING ISN'T VERY LONG EITHER. I WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND THIS PHONE FOR PEOPLE NOT VERY BOTHERED ABOUT IMAGING THAT WANTS A RELIABLE PHONE THATS REALLY WORTH IT'S PRICE.

I have had this phone for quite along time, the size is perfect and its an easy to use phone. Some of the problems are you can put a memory stick in but any of the stuff from the memory stick you cant use as ringtones or contact picures. It's hard when you're trying to find a certain photo because you have to scroll down the list until you find it. Sony Ericssons are better the way they come up in a grid format. Overall this phone is good if you just want a simple phone. :)

Well, call me lucky, but I found this phone on the beach, and after trying to ring the person back, they locked it. But from the look of about 2 days we got, it looked pretty boring. We found the special red one, and overall, i wouldn't say it was all that good considering other phones on the market.

Ive had this phone for over a year now and cannot find one single fault with it. The loudspeaker is loud and much better quality than a Sony Erricsson. The internal memory is poor but is easily expandable via a �7 mem card from a store or ebay. However, the best feature of this phone is the outstanding battery life. You read it right above - 450 hours! Compared to about 300 of most other phones. This means that under moderate use (about 50 texts, 10 mins of calls and 20 mins of music) i can make the battery life last a week! With low usage i even got it out to 10 days! This is a perfect phone to have if you are going away for long periods at a time or are too lazy to charge it every night.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PHONE! It looks nice, i'll give you that, but it has basicaaly no memory unless you buy a memory card. Bluetooth doesn't work, I can never find all the devices and I can't send stuff through bluetooth either. Sometimes the screen just cuts out or pauses, and much to my annoyance, I can't even see the screen in daylight! It is full of ringtones and pictures allready on the phone which use all the memory it has and are undeletable. Fine for phoning, but texting is hard with the samll buttons.

the motorola l7 phone is an excellent phone to have, in my opinion you cant get any better for the price.The only problem is if you want to down load music on to it you cant store that many, but that is my you can put a memory stick in it.

This phone is brilliant to use, very easy to navigate, and not to heavy in your pocket. However, the memory on the handset is miniscule, so you cannot store many photos or videos... not that you'd want to show anyone the photos as the camera quality is appauling and this really lets the phone down. I also find it hard to use the flet keypad, as my fingers slide around alot when I text and sometimes this can affect my writing because the buttons are very light, almost toucn sensitive. So because of this, it only gets 3 STARS from me!

Had the phone for four months and the center button fell off. Now the button with the four arrows has decided it doesn't want to stay on either. Luckily, I will be getting a new one, but I am beginning to think it may be a waste.

I have buy a new L7 just 3 months ago, last week the phone suddenly swtiched off , i have try my leve best to on it, but there is no any use so i go to the dealer, they told that there is a problem in the software of the display and it took 3 days to repair it, after 3 days i come to now that the software didnt accept by the phone, Later the told that it should cast more that Rs.2500.

The good: *high quality screen. *great for teaxting and calling. *can store a lot of phonebook entries *memoery cards available *looks very nice *camera and video are ok, but not for picky photographers The bad: *low memory at 5mb *camera could be better *doesn't have radio. I have had this phone a year, and it has worn well, only a few marks. It has never gone 'funny' or died on me. Am getting a MAXX soon, but will still keep this phone- too good to lose! Buy this phone. If you're very picky, do not.

This phone was awesome when I bought it about 5 months ago, and then out of the blue it broke. I bought it off of ebay and it was brand new, unlocked and came with all accessories. Then one day the screen went blank and it wouldnt make or receive calls calls. It just broke. Now, why does that happen when you spend $170.00 on a phone?

The Motorola L7 does live up to its name and when you first get it out of the box its slimness is astonishing. The phone itself is attractive but its practibility leaves a lot to be desired. I've had many problems with mine, the phone has sometimes jammed leaving me with a white screen, both the zero and eight buttons stop working at different times and many people I have spoken to on my phone have complained about the awful signal quality (despite the fact I have full signal) this leads me to the conclusion that you cannot talk on the move but instead you must sit incredibly still! A piece of advice for anyone buying a Motorola L7.... keep ur receipt safe in case it needs to go back for repairs!!! :)

staggeringly awful phone. heavy; exceptionally poor keys; menu slow, clunky and needlessly complex; many features are gimmicky rather than useful; guides are misleading and poorly written. it takes effort to make a phone this bad, but they've managed it.

Cute phone. No problems with volume (as I've seen others write). VERY SHORT BATTERY LIFE...length of life has never matched what I was told. Even when not talking I have to recharge the phone everyday. Center buttons falls off...have been told this has been fixed on newer releases of the phone. Most recent issue: Currently unable to push more than one button at a time while light is on. Have to wait 5 seconds for light to go off before I can push the next button. Unable to answer calls due to this. Have had the phone 6 months. Not pleased overall. More trouble than its been worth.

well i dnt understand dat because i have this phone with a 1gb memory card in it, and btw every1 sitting there moaning about memory cards... i got mine for �7.50 on ebay... think about it. The fone is wicked it looks amazing, its a bit hard to find wot ur looking for and im not sure how to change the smart key... dats if u can and im sure u can. bluetooth is slow but its not really an issue, i rocommend u get one! sexyist fone of the year!

Well the video is rubbish, lasts for about 20 seconds and then runs out of time, i've had the phone for about 10 months and it's gradually getting worse and worse. Many people have said that they've had this phone and it has broken and now mine has done exactly the same thing.

its nice phone but with few odds:- external memory is not shared with phone for storing sms and incomming calls log phone memory is too less to store recent call so resultantly only 10 calls each for dialed recieved and missed stored. with extremly less capacity for sms. The sloution could be very simple if manufacturer could have just shared memory stick with fone for such jobs.

Hi this is a very good phone. The cameara is as good as one of nokia's 1.2 megapixel camera's (so ive heard) and it has blue tooth. You can buy a mini jack so you can use normal headphones for it. Its also slim so if your a secondory school child and arent aloud phones this is good because its is very slim

Ive had this phone for a about 8 or 9 months and yet to find a problem. Extremely reliable.. but you need to get a memory card otherwise its useless. I recently lost charger so i have to get a new phone lol im going for a contract phone this time as i hardly ever had credit in my phone when it was pay as you go.

Hai I feel why you not change the font style in all Motorola mobile , because the font style ver poor compare than other mobile, and some unneccessary options are in the mobile like battery meter and etc. And the menu Icons are not look like rich, it does not create a feel, just it look like cartoon images feel, instead it shoud be create rich animation effect. Phone book there is no options for add image for contact. During camera mode cursor icons are overlapped the 25% images. I have the Motorola SLVR and I think that it�s really good quality. I first chose it mainly on the superb appearance but once I had it, discovered that it had much more to offer. The display is excellent and the sound quality is very clear. It is a very tough little phone and the camera is also of a high quality. There are lots of options for you to customise the phone, whatever your style! Very easy to use and incredibly thin, I love it! The batter life is also above average. Only a few complaints, unless you have a Motorola memory card, you may struggle to fit all your files on this phone. Also the central button keeps falling off the phone, this may be due to my overuse and I have had it for over a year. This phone is really good for younger teenagers because it looks so cool, is not too expensive and it is extremely durable. outstanding 5 stars from me. Definitely!

This is a brilliant phone.It looks cool does its jobsand has extras. For those of you who dont know go on ebay.co.uk and type in l7 headphone adapters. There loads on there for like �3. and for those of you who think the menue's hard why not just read the manul carefully. I fully recomend this phone.

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE. From the very 1st day I've hated this phone and can't wait to be rid of it, the camera is awful quality and mine stopped working after 6 months. The sound quality on calls and music playing is awful and the buttons are hard to use if you're not a petite fingered female. The buttons also look fantastic but got scratched very easily, they are meant to light up when you unlock it or switch it on but mine light up and go dark at random times. The screen is almost impossible to see in sunlight. Also reception is awful compared to other makes, I lived in a house with poor reception and in the living room friends with Nokia and Samsung phones could get enough reception to make calls but I couldn't get any bars, I had to walk half way down the street to get enough reception to make calls! The outer case is also flimsy and has come off on its own a few times, especially when dropped so it's not very hard wearing. Great for style and size but rubbish for actual day to day use, mine only functioned correctly for 2 months max before problems occured.

How can anyone say this phone is good, has put me off motorolas for life, have had two now as i lost one and they both had problems of call receipitants complaining of echoing, shocking battery life, rubbish mp3 player as cannot use headphones, with an adapter its no louder than a whisper. quite simply this phone loos a million times better than it is, it is rubbish!

US user here and I like it. Had an overseas RAZR V3i before and the speaker went out - got his one because it's similar to the RAZR and NOT a flip phone. I'm in the US and specifically wanted the overseas version because it came unlocked and does NOT have iTunes but rather, it comes with Motorola's Digital Audio Player. All you do is plug the thing in to your PC and drag and drop mp3's into phone's the memory card. Why bother with iTunes? Oh.. if you are in the US and use the overseas phone, you may get what's called the VM symbol glitch where upon listening to a voice message, the carrier signal that causes the new massage icon to dissappear from your screen shows up as a text message with two symbols. This can be fixed with a "seem edit". If you have this happen and have no where to turn email me at my hot mail address: sgayres and I'll steer you to the right place. Nice phone if you are sick of flip phones. 5 stars.

i had this phone for about 1year-2years loved it really! the only problem i had was the screen going white randomly but not for long. i had no problems with playing music, taking pictures, using the menu, overall v good. and its a good loooking phone :-).

The battery runs out dead quick, causing the phone to warn you with beeps usually in the middle of the night!! I ain't no gadget freak, but liked the phone apart from the low battery life, so have swapped it for alternative (after three exchanges).

Had this phone for almost a year and a half now. Been a very good phone..has a few scratches on it but it has taken some knocks in its life! The camera isn't amazing and has a bit of a delay on it...also not so good in the evenings or when its getting dark. Battery tends to wear down quite quickely but not too surprising after over a year. Don't get too much memory on the phone but with a memory card is fine...mp3 player good for a small phone it can play quite loudly. ohh and can be hard to see screen outside because its so flat. Sort of picked out the bad bits here! Menu is very good and easy to understand as is texting...particularly like the predictive text. Would reccomend it!

Ok. Ive had my SLVR L7 for about 18 months now, its been subjected to the usual abuse, dropped a couple of times, lent on etc.. and still going strong. Because the phone isnt available free with prepaid plans or contracts etc.. i havent seen alot of them bieng used, but they are just as good, it not better than a RAZR. Very well priced, compact, versatile and durable, what more could you want from a basic phone?

i've had a nokia, samsung, siemens, and all other cell's, but motorola is the best, specially this mmodel l7, it's so thic, that you won't even notice that you have it in your pocket, the greatest cell that i've ever had, the only bad thing is that that if someone send you somethinf over bluetooth, you can't save it on memory card, but actually i don't even need that, all my pics and mp3s i just send over mini usb

My one is a bad phone!!Period!!Battery only lasts 2 and a half days without using it,less when you do!!Screen is too small.You can charge it up through your PC unless you have Moto phone tools,and when i did not charge it up for 5 days,it would not charge!!!Still can�t,the mains charger that came with it has a loose connection,rubbish is the word for this!

the l7 is unstylish, and delicate,it has a realy anoying feel to it in your pocket. for some reason you cant usethe vidio recorder for more than 20 seondss and you also cant change your ring tone for text meseges! i realy envy my friends sony ericsons and am planing to get one.

This is a good looking phone for sure and the screen is very clear. However I have to say that iTAP predictive text on this phone is appalling! Its meant to learn the words that you type in, but the user experience suggests otherwise. Regular words typed in are not the first presented to me when I type them in the next time. Its intensely frustrating: given that texting is the major thing that I do, I would not get this phone or a Motorola ever again

I have had my moto L7 for about 9 months its been ok nothing specially. its feels quite big and bulky and sometimes strains after texting for long periods of time, i like the external memory and i founf a really cheap memory card in sainsburys. At the moment i am having problems with the charger and i have 2 charge it via my computar at the moment, this phone is ok but its nothing special there are lots of better ones on the market

This Phone is great. The only thing thing that upsets me is the poor battery life, if you're doing things such as using itunes on it or if you're on the phone. the screen is also very hard to see in the daytime. overall, it's a nice phone, but if you're not going to use it for music and pictures and video, it's not worth the money one thing you NEED if you're going to get this phone is a protective cover. one drop on a hard surface without one, and it's all over for your camera or screen.

i have had this phone for 10 months, its a ok phone, i really liked it to start off with and still do. But i dont suggest playing your music up full blast on it, i have wrecked my speaker and now i can hardly hear anybody in a phone conversation! The camera is ok but could be better! I braught a memory card for it after 2 months, realising i had little memory for music. The downside is all my tracks are on my card, but i then have to copy them to the phone if i want them as a ringtone. So that means i can only have diffrent MP3 tracks on my phone at one time!. I hav'nt got the email messaging thing to work, and probably never will. Its good for simple people, but dont expect to much from it! Its now starting to loose its battery and has little battery life! Overall its good but you will want a diffrent phone after 6 months of it!

I've had a number of phones prior to this one and can safely say that given a few weeks of use that this is the worst one I've ever owned. The main positive is that it does look very nice. It's light and fits in your pocket fine. However I found the menu system irritating (versus Nokia and Sony Ericssons I've had), plus there is only a tiny memory allowing minimal messages and MP3s unless you spend lots extra upgrading. The main complaint however is simply the lousy reception. It constantly cuts out in anything but the best reception - if you often find yourself with half reception on a normal phone then do not get this version. Very very poor.

This phone is shocking, its really awful don't get this phone its really easy to fall out of your pocket and too loose. The memory is awful without a card you can only fit one song if that on it and with the card you can't get many more. The picture quality is so blurry and the video quality is awful. And when you send things through bluetooth you have to wait for ages! Save yourself the bother of getting this phone and get a useful one!

I have very bad experiences with this mobile. Because it did not function correctly, it was replaced by the reseller two times. When the third one was still not OK, I returned it and I demanded ( and received) a Nokia 6233. Do not buy Motorola

The Motorola manuel is useless. and I could not find the way to set up pop3 email on the manuel or online. Cingular is unable to help. Motorola send me back to cingular for this setting. I want to received and send pop3 emails. NOT Yahoo or Hotmail. Any one can help me ? The music is good, with the 512 mb card ( 76 songs ) includ in US with the phone the quality is good. ( I used it with an USB cable to my audio at home, and the sound was great ). only 2 stars because of the useless manuel and no games or ring tone include and poor setup for email.

Let's get the positive bits out first. The phone looks great and is very slim. I also like the ability to charge via USB from a computer and the microSD slot. It is also quite stable as there is no visible damage from a few drops. On the downside there is the bad voice quality and poorest reception I have ever had. I frequently encounter situations with no reception (e.g. trains) when people around me are happily using their phone. For people who care about this: the camera is rubbish as well. But worst thing is the software. This is so far behind my good old S55! To have multiple numbers for a contact the phone creates multiple contacts - very difficult to keep track. One contact actually seems to be hidden (is recognised when the number is dialled, but is not in any phone book). Birthdays don't show up in the calendar. Alarm settings cannot be set for specific days of the week. Alarms have to be assigned a name. Phone does not know about time zones and DST, hence I have to manually change the time whenever I leave the UK. Basically nothing in the menu can be easily found. No automatic keypad lock. Transfer of phone book entries via bluetooth did not work (could be caused by my S55, but given the software of this phone I don't think so). Text messages are incredibly difficult to type - barely any English words are recognised, capitalisation is tricky. I could continue this list forever. This phone is so far behind anything I have had so far. But it looks good... I am quite surprised by the good reviews for this phone. Do you actually use the phone or do you just show off having a nice piece of design? Would have given 2 out of five stars, but that is dubbed average and this phone clearly is below average.

Not a very good phone, keypad is bad, menu is not very user-friendly and is fustrating. Keypad does not light up is areas where lighting is poor. Hearing quality is bad, you cant year the reciepient voice even if the volume is at its maximum. The phone can cope with weak signal and stops to operate. This phone is bad, its nothing like my old nokia 3120 which may have been a very basic phone but is performance and its its use was simple and basic. However, this phone has a good camera, its stylish and its battery performance is good.

This phone is a very good and outstanding phone, but every accesory is an extra, you don't even get headphones. On the other hand, it is good value for money, the equivalent is probably a samsung D900 which is twice the price!!! I mainly brought this phone for its instant messenger, but i have no idea how to access it, can anyone help? If it makes any difference, im with O2 on pay as you go talk-a-lot price plan!!! Overall, this phone is good, but i prefer the L6 as it is the same phone, thinner, and half the price. The only difference is the memory card slot, which usually breaks down!!!

motorola slvr l7 is sleek and has a excellent clarity compare to nokia .it is having a good speaker with stereo effect .battery life stand for 2 and half days which is a pretty good phone

Good looking phone but it ends there. The phone is garbage and here is why.....When I bought this for 149 quid and opened the box I was very dissapointed. All that was in the box was phone,battery and instructions...No usb cable,No software and no memery card so therefore the internal memory on the phone was non existent...couldn't even store one song on it, so I had to wait until I paid an extra 30 quid for a memory card before being able to listen to any tunes on it. Once I did get the the mem card I wondered why I couldn't play certain songs as it said format not supported and found out it doesn't play anything above 128kb mp3 (bitrate). My daughter bought a sony ericson w800I which came with phone,Battery,Instructions,512 mem card,software and stereo headphones and this phone supports mp3's upto 320 kb (bitrate) My Motorola L7 is basically only used as my alarm clock...so I paid 149 quid for an alarm clock. Motorola in my opininion was great in the 90's but to b e honest I wouldn't buy a motorola phone again. They need to wake up and not rip their customers off. Until then their reputation is mud so wakey wakey motorola and smell the coffee. Your competitors have obviously employed people who know what the public want...your glory days are over...get some new people in that can deliver what we want.

I hate this phone! iv had it almost a year and unfortunately i took it out on an 18 month contract so can't change it until september. The camera is dreadful, it's become cracked just by being in my bag; this is probably the first phone iv ever had that i've never dropped! So now I'm unable to take pictures at all since its become so blurry. the memory is dreadful, last week i had to delete all my photos and videos in order to read a text message. The phone may look quite good but to be honest i dont think its the prettiest phone out there and with all the other problems I would never recommend buying it.

I have had this phone since April 2006 and it is still an awesome phone!! I love it and would recommend it to anyone. It is uber thin and lightweight and it looks really cool. Despite what people say, I have no scatches on it and I have dropped it a few times (woops). If you want songs on it, don't rely on the phone memory, get a memory card (micro sd).

It often fails to answer calls, but that might just be Orange France, I've had better converage here in Britian. Its ringtones are provider locked, so you'll need to flash your own image, i.e. you better be a tech head to buy this phone.

Very sexy phone, I've gotten many complements from girls entering their numbers! But all the negative comments about the software are true. Worse, my ringtones came locked by my old provider! So you may want to avoid this phone unless your confident in your re-flashing firmware skillz.

I have come from a nokia family. Well my first phone was a nokia and the last one i got was a nokia. my mom also uses nokia. so you would understand the disappointment i had when my dad bought me this phone. well at least he gave me something right. love the screen, but the keypad, man its a nightmare. I just got mine just 2 weeks ago but the keypad started to loose it light and seems to be malfunctioning. i hate this phone. im just trying my best to like this because my dad gave it to me. if not i have already swap or ever trow this away...

After reading some of the reviews I have thought that all of our Slvrs have been sold with different stuff, therefor you can not give the slvr a low mark because of that I bought mine at walmart at the cingular part and I absolutly LOVE IT unluck what some others have said mine has a HUGE memory I can store 100 full songs, and have unlimited pictures and video. I have had a video record for 1 minute and 4o seconds as the most so yes it goes over 30 seconds unlike alot of phones. Not only is the memory outstanding the speaker on it was great, the sound was clear and could be heard through my whole house. the headphones it came with were great also, it made the good sound of just holding it and talking even easier to hear. After here about how easly broken the razr could get I was a little nervous about my slvr, but turns out event hough its so small and danty LOOKING its can stand up to alot of falls and I havent dropped/sat/ and had it go flying across the room mu ltiple times and it still as perfect as it was when I bought it about a month ago. At my age it is "the phone" to get because of how awesome it looks and all the kool things it does I would say if your looking for a phone that has the best look and best performance go for this phone. The only thing I find bad is the low quality sometimes in my video recording it seems to be very pixaly at times

This phone WAS quite a good phone which i enjoyed owning for the 2 months that i had it, but after those 2 months it broke so then i got a replacement and within six months that had broken too. So then i swaped to the RAZOR which hasjust broken as well. So i am never going to get another motorola but thats just me talking, you never know it might work out for you..... Remember different phones work for different people and this phone might just work for you!

I've had this phone for a year now, and regretted it as soon as i bought it. It has hardly any phone memory so you can only have one MP3 song on the phone at a time, and can get about 10 on the memory card you get free with it, although these can't be used as a ringtone and as the MP3 player function is basic is pretty pointless. The only thing in its favour is the size of it, and by size i mean the thickness of it. But don't buy it on this condition alone, it's a horrendous phone to use and i've had to put up with it for the past year before upgrading last week.

I had this phone for just over a month and the centre select button on the key pad came off. Phones 4 u refused to repair it under warranty as they said it was caused by physical damage, but be warned as it definately did not receive any unusual treatment, in fact it was hardly used as I was using up credit on an existing phone for most of the month.

well i got this phone 2days ago and i think it fanstatic! the camra isn't that bad i can take good pics with it. The mp3 is brill but the memory is the let down. But if you go to amazon you can buy one for under �8! with the memory card i can put 100 songs on there! Also the phone looks great but if you have the black one eit gets VERY dirty! but a quick wipe of the cloth would sort it out. Also if your not bothered about buying a memory card but you want to get photos from your pc on there its a nightmare. I would recomend this phone

I got a new phone (samsung e900) but i had this one about a week ago b4 i brought the samsung, i thought it was amazing, great fetures, wondeful camera, bluetooth, thin, abit heavy, i'd say its a mans phone but its great!! easy to get along with, looks good, memory card holder, everyone will be jealous if u had ths, i miss this phone xx

Thought to try something other than Nokia but I will stick to reliable Nokia. I wouldn't advise anyone to get this phone at all! This is the worst phone I've ever had. Never has reception (have another Nokia phone on the same network), turns itself off and now it's sending text messages to everyone I have ever sent one to. Whenever I try to go into my outbox to delete messages so it doesn't have any messages to send, it turns itself off and then back again and we start all over again. I've had it for 8 months now and never had any joy with it. Sending it back to get it fixed as it is still under warranty.

i have to say that i have used the nokia 5200 and i changed it for the motorola l7 because the nokia got hot when you use the speaker so it broken when i used it a lot but now i`m very happy for this phone i thing that the nokia are the best phones in the world but motorola are pretyer than the nokia even if you ahve used both i hate when the 5200 get open and autocall others number but whith this phone you can block his keypad and you won`t have any problem

Bluetooth doesn't work with PC. I see service from someones cell in the office, but mine says no services available... Call forward only for all calls (no details), though my old phone with the same SIM card has full details (on busy, no answer, etc...). Manual says it is depend on SIM or mobile plan - BS, it works with my old phone. I got this phone yesterday, and it hang up one time..... Well, it is not the best phone ever.....

Got it as an upgrade through vodaphone to my old V3, On the plus side, 512Mb transflash, Vid recording, MP3 capacity, superb slim design and reasonable price. on the negative; as usual not easy to install apps or new games (typical Motorola), Unlike the V3 does not include the OEM tools disk for the pc (had to get one of the net), Manual is sketchy and does not cover things like keypad lock, Even IF its possible! MP3 is as good as useless unless you pay for either wired or bluetooth headphones, The Razr V3 is a much better looking phone by far. Overall; If the V3 HAD memory (i.e not 5 megs!!) I wouldnt have bothered upgrading. compared with the newer Krazr, it doesnt have a look in. PLEASE Motorola make application and game installation EASIER! you let your phones down big time!

This phone is SeXy, its small and hardly noticeable. I got it 4 x-mas and the only time i put it down is when i have to go to school (we have metal detectors & etc) but anyways its a stylish phone that works excellently. I love the i-tunes but i heard u could put full- length movies on it...does anyone know how?

I have had this phone for under 4 months, and it is useless.. it may be a really sexy lookin phone but being motorola, it freezes continuously, the screen blanks out all the time and when recieving a text when the phone is locked the phone has a habbit of freezing. along with texting..it wil freeze then too. It has a reli small memory and all together i think its the worst phone ive ever had. Ill never buy a motorla again... they look good but inside there Rubbish.

My little brother has got this phone after much abuse, it's been through a washing machine, stood on and after all of it's comotion it washalf ate by a hungry and now sick dog. but after buying a new battery and cover it worked first time.

i've had this phone 5 days and there is such good camera and video quality, but if you want to record long video clips you'd be best off getting a memory card. good expandable memory (512mb)good quality camera and the games are cool. dis fone is soo cool.

The design is excellent, performance tops, sound quality is exceptional, this is a superb phone! Its state of the art build up makes it reliable-howeevr motorolas menus seemed to be programmed by 5 year olds!They are still not good enough as the simple and easy userfriendly Nokia and Sony-Er.

Nice sleek design but poor UI. Phonebook search: Searching the phonebook is very awkward compared to Nokia's UI. Searching for 'Bill', for example by typing 'Bi' displays names beginning with 'B' first & then jumps to names beginning with 'I'. MP3 ringtones: Can't be played from microSD card! Must be copied to phones (small) internal memory before they can be used ;- ( Ring volume: Not loud enough. Vibration alert: Not strong enough & too few modes. Ring & vibration alerts cannot be customised only three modes! :- ( Video camera: Clips are time limited to around two minutes or so unlike Nokia or SonyE. Recorded video also very jerky & full of mpeg artifacts. Video camera (again): Very poor performance in low light. Construction quality: the unit I bought had the bottom of the screen where it met the keyboard was uneven on one side. Screen: very dim & had to read in direct sunlight. Predictive Text: If you've owned & use a Nokia phone the predictive text on the Motorola will make you pull out your hair & cry with frustration :- ( Clock: No clock displayed onscreen when phone is locked! Menu System: Poorly organised. I learned my lesson. Stick to Nokia or SonyE. Motorola engineers need to try harder and take a look at how the competition do things.

Ive had this phone for a few months now... what can i say... great phone.... good coverage.. probably because i'm using Aus Telstra.. pics are far more clearer once ya transfer them to your pc.. which by the way can be connected wirelessly or by means if a micro usb cable... if ya lose the cable.. you dont have to spend the money on a specialised brand cable.. my phone came with all the software, nice instruction book, stereo mp3 headphones, charger, and a great blue tooth handsfree ear piece... the moto bluetooth music headset is now available also.. as i dont like flip phones... so this ones great.. plus it fits into the notes section of my wallet... try doing that with most other mobiles... another bonus is that you dont have to remove the battery to remove the 1gig flash card which is now available... it is robust, as my 16month old daughter has thrown it down our stairs a few times and apart from a scratch.... it works perfectly... it came with 2 good games plus ive foun d a free site for games... i dont have long nails<--being male and i have no problems keying one handed... the only problem i have with it... is the screen size and detail... which is more bigger in some slide/flip phones... or chunkier phones.. for that... i have my laptop

I bought it at 3rd may 2006 and got rid of it at 5th may 2006.Its worst than n70.It shouldve been equiped with a mega pixel cam.the still picture camera is not so bad but the vdo recording and play back is the worst.And mp3 files with a higher bit rate than 192 cant be played.interneal memory is too low.and u have to copy filese into the phone before using it as ringtones.and ull vomit after hearing the ringtone playback.i only found 2 mp3 and amid file which sounds good and loud to be kept as ringtone.so think for sme time before buying.

if you use bluetooth headset on this phone then dont bother downloading any ringtones as it wont play them while the headset is on. not impressed that you have to download the full versions of the games as theres only 5 mins of demo as standard. it also has a hard time finding other bluetooth devises, usually takes 10 attemps. has really put me off motorola phones.

If you buy this phone don't put a sim card from a samsung in it intending to import all your numbers etc. It will crash the phone and make it unusable. Did this with a Samsung E330 and it locked the phone in an eternal loop of switching itself on and off. To Orange credit they did change both unit (with a bit of a fight). Orange confirmed that importing the numbers like this cause a siftware imcompatibility problem which causes the problem. As phone goes, it make call, it receives calls, has a large number pad compared to a lot of nokia's teeny weeny ones. Nice and lound so can here it ringing in noisy places. Tim

Had a terrible Motorola a few years back and swore I'd never go back. Made the mistak again. Poor battery, very slow software, lets face it, compared to Nokia or Samsung software this is Windows 95. Most annoying, it won't let you set the dictionary when writing texts, has to be re-set every time. The keys are hard to press, unless you've got small fingers. The screen's good, the phone's slim, but if you're looking for quality, look else where.

Motorola are crap. Battery, software, screen, speed, you name it Motorola is lousy. Like the V3, this looks great outisde, works bad inside. Do yourself a favour, buy a Sony/Nokia/Samsung, quality phones. Drop this phone and it falls apart, you can drop a nokia from a 1st floor window and it'll bounce back. The metal body scratches easily, the software's so slow you can make a cup of tea waiting for it to start up, the battery needs constant charging, picture quality bad, software very bad. If anyone wants to understand why few electronics are made & designed in America or Britain any more, this is proof. But if you want to know what it was like to have a mobile in 1999, this is for you.

Diss is a brill fone was gunna get the L6 but the dude in carphonewarehouse sed it didnt have a video camera, guesse that was a blessin in disguse as this fone is much better than the L6 ( from lookin @ comparisions on da internut ). and only �20 more than the L6.( the L6 does have a Vid Cam BTW). so far this fone is brill, camera is exelent ( compared to my (very) old nokia 6610i ) video is great too, cant stop recording every thing i see, juss ordered a 512 MB memory card !. didnt come with any leads for computer conextions or software, managed to find that on the net too, its cheeky that in shops they tell u it can play mp3s and stuff, they just neglect to tell u,u have to shell out more money for software n things. if i knew i needed software n stuff i woodve brought it in da shop with the fone!!!.bit dissapointed when i got home cuz i couldnt put any songs on it. had 4 nokias b4 this one n im soo glad to finally get somthing other than no kia, nokia bores me. n the menus n things were resonalbly easy to get used too. this fone is MINT! hope im saying the same thing when the software finally arrvires, dont want any hidden complications and dont want to shell out any more cash on this fone.

fone is good, light, small, perfect if u dnt like bulky fones, but is sum bad points, some calls go straight to voicemail, some texts dont get sent, battery can get bad. but overall its a really good buy, aslong as u dont get a faulty one

Perfect little phone, got mine second hand but still cant find any problems but one- not alot of memory space on it. But hay that's what ebay is for! Someone on here said something about having to pay out loads for extra stuff - I got a clear case, incar charger, normal charger, handsfree, 512mb memory card and a neat little cable thing that lets u listen to ur music through ur own headphones for just over �30! Don't moan about instore prices just go some where else and get it cheaper!

I have been used to Nokia's so the L7 was a complete change. I particularly wanted an mp3 player facility in a phone and vodafone sent me the slvr as an upgrade. It only came with a charger, which was a bummer, but I found a 256mb memory card, a stereo headset, the phone tools software and data cable on eBay, all for a max of �20 quid. After setting up the software etc I can now download the tunes (very easily) to the phone which I think is brill. The phone only supports mp3 format so any wma tunes you have need to be converted first, and I found a program for this on the internet. The sound quality is great, and you can add the tunes to a playlist to have continuous playing. Don't know yet what the battery life is with the player on alot but without it, so far, the battery life is excellent. Has everything I need in a phone, is funky and feels solid and good quality (not like some 'plasticky' phones I've seen recently. Screen does smudge easily and you can't see the sc reen very well outside in daylight. Another downside is; I can't seem to be able to set up 'delivery reports' for messaging which I used to find very useful so if anyone knows a way?... Camera is not the best but certainly more than adequate for me. For a 'die hard' nokia user, the L7 slvr has made the wrench away much easier! Love it!

Beautiful clean lines and well-made Lovely keypad and it looks very pricey, considering what this retails at. Cools the hand nicely with the metal aluminium and the bronze keypad. Nice glow with equal backlighting. Has to have the best screen quality for the price and the camera is stunning. The memory card slot fitting into something so thin is amazing. Buy it-its fab.

this fone is the bobm man it has everything you could need in a phone it has a descent camers but not as good as the w800i (well you cant beat sony anyway)the only bad thing is with some slvrs you dont get any headphones or a memory card (even more money spent)but its well worth the buy because everything it has is class thankyou for reading and buy it cos i wanna see more of these fones on the streets cos hey are sick!!!!

I bought this phone because it looked really good and so I could transfer music files from my computer. Be warned data transfer from your computer is impossible unless you have windows 2000 or above! Other than that the phone isn't too bad although you cannot search other mobiles via bluetooth.

Pitty there is no 0. Worst phone ever. Too broad too thin, does not fit my hand for one-hand texting or phoning. Slips out of top pocket. I am over 50 and use normal reading glasses, font size is too small and font does not read easily. Cannot read the screan outside, too dark. The screen is cluttered with additional rubbish. I do not want to entertained by the phone. Get the feeling it is a TAMAGOTSHI, you have to nurse and feed it, etc, but when it comes to phoning - NO SIGNAL!!!! Wonderful toy for those who have nothing else to do but play with the phone. I want to phone, text, receive calls. At least NOKIA phones do that. Can adjust the font so large I can read the screen without glasses. The SLVR has done one very good thing. It has weened me from using the mobile with ease. It has now become an effort to use the phone and saves on the account. At least give credit were credit is due. There is a NOKIA 5500 coming up, smart builders phone, will get that and let all the other SLVR users suffer in silence. The software interfaces and software are not available. This phone is an absolute must for anybody with a double digit IQ!!!!!!!!!

I had a Motorola V3 before getting this. OK, lets put things into perspective. DESIGN - this is high class and feels expensive to touch and feel. The shiny keypad looks stunning and shiny - almost like a sunray dial on a watch. It has a solid case and cools the hand nicely, too. CAMERA/VIDEO - The camera, being VGA looks clear and on the screen, colours stand out and are sharp and photos take very well. The video is average and looks OK. BLUETOOTH - I managed to pair and transfer data with my friends phones with no problem whatsoever. The Bluetooth is fast and works good with a headset, too. JAVA/MULTIMEDIA - The Java capabilities are great and i managed to download various games and applications very quickly and they were easy to store. MP3 PLAYER/EPANDABLE MEMORY - Mine had pre-installed Motorola MP3 software and i had to buy a USB lead seperatly, although i found it incredibly easy to drag and drop files in seconds. The Micro SD cards are placed in a convinient slot the right hand side. VERDICT This is a phone that combines gorgeous looks without compromising on functionality. This would be ideal for those who have had a Motorola before although may be a big step for those who have had Nokia before like me. If you like Motorola, you will love this. Buy it.

i hate people complaining about this phone!! i've had mine for a couple of weeks now and it's awesome! i originally bought the RAZR but it had bad memory and no option of expandable memory, so i exchanged it for the SLVR L7 which i am now in love with!! my beautiful little phone came with a 64mb transflash card which was ok got 12 mp3 tracks and a lot of piccies!! just bought an 512mb card for �19.99. although i was disappointed that i sent the RAZR back with headset and usb cable, only to find that the SLVR cam with neither, but again just bought a headset with 2 earphones!! from ebay for just �5 (not bad considering it's a genuine headset!!) no software but i don't care!! i just simply put the memory card into the slot on my PC and transfer any files either to or from my phone in seconds :) don't know why people don't like the camera anyway, compared to my nokia the images are sharp and clear....i can't complain!! i love the menu, it's very pretty and i've changed the selections so the ones that i use more are easiest to get to. always had nokia phones, apart from a little samsung A800, but i got used to the new menu very quickly. no scratches on it yet!! and i'm a 17 year old so it's always out with me so YAY!! it's like a mini computer and can't keep my friends off it!! only 2 little things to improve about it really is the itunes thing as the digital player doesn't play all my tracks, but not really a problem as i just go into the sounds menu. can't wait for my memory card to arrive so i can use my phone more!! also i have been unable to find a website which is able to unlock my mobile which is on Tesco mobile atm, which kinda sucks, want to get back onto O2, so i'm using 2 mobiles atm!! but other than that i love my phone and would recommend it to everyone!! even my sister has bought it hehe!!

great looks, exotic materials rarely used in mobile phones.. anodized aluminum body, glass lcd screen, nickel plated copper keypad..never hav i seen a phone of this built and quality being a nokia phone user for almost 10 yrs would make one salivate over this phone's good looks "i wish my nokia looks that good!!" now.. if only they could marry nokia's intuitive software w/ motorola's great phone designs.. as motorola's GUI is complex and not for 1st time users.. overall the SLVR L7 is a engineering feat and a thing of beauty..a great phone!!

I think this is fab. I had the Motorola E1 ROKR and thought it was great. I had it for a year and decided to upgrade. I did not want the RAZR V3 as i find its becoming too common and too many people have it. I wanted this as i dont like flips anyway. This really was the perfect alternative to theRAZR V3. Minus the iTunes from my E1 ROKR, this is great. It is faster than the E1 ROKR and looks so sleek. The memory is plug and play when you connect to a PC. It just reads it as a mass storage device so i can drag and drop my files in seconds and the transfer rate is really fast. The camera is VGA but it looks great and is ideal for sending photos. Well done Motorola for another fantastic masterpiece! Deninitly reccomended.

I have to say i was really dissapointed with this phone. On the surface its a really stylish-looking phone, but thats all it has going for it. For a start when you buy a phone you expect to be able to use it to full capacity without making any addition purchases, but this is not the case with the L7. It doesn't come with a USB lead or the software required to connect it to a pc - you have to buy this separately and the only place you can get this is direct from motorola. If you are not too vexed by the audacity of Motorola selling only half a phone and go ahead and purchase the software you may be slightly peeved, having downloaded your favourite tracks to the inbuilt audio player, to find that it does not come with headphones! Again, these have to be purchased from Motorola. To add insult to injury the phone does not come with a memory stick either. The phone looks great on the outside and Motorola should be commended for the external design, but internally its very basic and for this they should be condemmed. Its just not on par with the many other phones new to the market.

here in the philippines, nokia is the most popular brand of cellphone which is bought by many. i decided to try other brands to be different. i wanted to buy the motorola e398 but when i saw this phone, I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. as soon as i turned on the phone for the first time, i was so shocked by its super clear screen and its superb camera! this phone's got everything i need. i have no regrets buying this phone!!!

I got this phone as a free upgrade from O2 and I must say it isn't as good as it's made out to be! Firstly I was told (by O2) that it has removable covers but it hasn't, you're stuck with the colour you get. I was also told that it was quad band but it's only tri band. The phone does have an MP3 player BUT it doesn't come with the memory card to store the songs on, computer software and cable to actually get your songs from your computer to the phone AND it didn't come with headphones either. If you are to buy all this kit from Motorola it will cost you a fortune (�50+) but I was lucky enough to get the software CD and headphones from ebay and a memory card for �17.99 from play.com. The other drawback with this phone is that it is not compatable with MAC meaning you can't 'sync' your mobile with your MAC, you can't use the cable to download songs or pictures onto your phone AND it won't hook up to MAC bluetooth!!!! Altogether the phone is okay as a free upgrade but I would have been MAD if I actually had to pay for it, especailly as you need to fork out for all of the additional 'extras' if you want to make full use of the MP3 player.

I like this phone! I upgraded from the V3 so was used to a motorola. The only thing I can say about it is I find the keypad a bit small and slow to use when texting! But I think you just have to get used to it! All in all a good phone!

You wuill hate this phone is about 2 weeks. You cannot get the MP3s to play into ear phones/headphones. When I was sold the phone I was told to just buy the BlueTooth headphones from Motorola. But the HT820 BlueTooth headphone ONLY work with the Motorola V3X - this is a 3G phone so not pay as you go, but you can transfer your number from one SIM to the new one, this can take upto 14 days to occur. The MP3 feature of the SLVR is just ring tones - do not mistake it for a portalble MP3 player. There is no concept of a jackplug. The HT820 will only work the phone and makes calls. This is well know in the industry and this is why the SLVRs are being off-loaded. The phone claims to have "(POP3, SMTP, IMAP2)" it is totally undocumented how to set this up, and needs a 'Special' type of connection, so if you have set up your home elaim dont think you can set up your phone email. Likewise it is a pull-email, that is you have to go get it, unlike when an SMS message is pushed to you. The video is not bad for a few seconds. The photos are bad. They keypad for sending SMS texts are bad, your finger slips off the rasied digits. The 'spacebar' and other key functions are reversed to a nokia. You can see the display in the sun. It has poor signal reach compaired to other phones, it is easy for people to miss what you are saying. It is slim, light, a charge lasts for ages but all show and no substance. I had to spend �160 to bring the phone upto what it claimed it could do. The base price is �99 - dont pay any more. I have now had to buy the motorola-v3x at �170 to do what the SLVR claimed.
