Motorola L6
Product Rating
Motorola L6 ReviewRating: Date: 15/12/2006 The Motorola L6 is a super slim entry level camera phone. It is a good size candy bar phone with a thickness of only 10.9 mm and weighs only 86g. The camera is a VGA camera with 4 x digital zoom and video capabilities which is typical for a phone within this price range. It has an STN display rather then a TFT which means that it is not as bright and would be harder to see in bright conditions. The resolution is 128 x 160 pixels and it supports 65k colours. If you are looking for a phone with a music player this phone is not for you. It does not play MP3's or have an FM radio however it is capable of using MP3 tones as ringtones with a 24-voice polyphonic sound. Memory is also quite limited with only 10MB of internal memory although as it doesn't have an MP3 player this is a good amount. The L6 connects to the internet using GPRS which is a good speed for data transfer. It has an excellent battery life with 345 hours of standby time. The phone works on a tri-band network meaning it will work in Europe and America. Overall, for the price you pay, this is a very good phone with some standard features for a good budget phone. We would recommend it to you if you are looking for a simple yet stylish phone. If you require something with a little more to offer in terms of features, then we would recommend you have a look at the L7, however this is more expensive.
Features of the Motorola L6 include:
- Camera: 4x zoom
- Display: 128 x 160, 65K color CSTN
- Ringtones: MP3 ring tones
- Connectivity: Bluetooth® wireless technology, mini-USB
- Memory: Up to 10MB of end user embedded memory
- Messaging: SMS, MMS
- Internet: WAP 2.0
- Talk Time: Up to approximately 350 minutes
- Standby: Up to approximately 345 hours
- Operating Frequency: Tri band (GSM 900/1800/1900)
- Size: 113 x 49 x 10.9 mm
- Weight: 86g

Reviewed by L6 Fan on 16/10/2011 Had this phone for five/six years now, it has never failed me once, original battery still lasts a ages, can check email on it, bluetooth still works fine and interfaces with my car for business, it is also just about unbreakable. I have dropped this to the point where everything came off (i.e the copper ariel even came out, dropped it on to a road while riding a bike at 20mph, and still worked perfectly and lives to fight another day. It has got to the point where I will not give up using this phone until it dies..... Rating:

Reviewed by Nunya on 19/01/2011 This phone is rubbish. The memory is rubbish. The texting is rubbish. Sometimes it won't send the text, & I will receive the text really late. Once I got an MMS & it took like an hour to download. So if you like to text alot, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE. The predictive text is horrible too. Now I will say it is loud.I was in my living room & heard I got a text. So I will give it an extra star for that being that alot of phones, especially older ones arent that loud. But yeah I think this phone only barely deserves 2 stars. Rating:

Reviewed by tiffy on 09/06/2009 I presently own this phone and Have had it for about three years now. The battery life sucks! I charge it every other day and the only quality time I spend with my phone is when it rings. I hate the fact that I can only store up to three full length songs on this phone. The camera is decent but thats all it'll ever be. The bluetooth works but not as well as other phones. It takes a while to find other bluetooth devices. The interface is fairly simple, nothing complicated at all. I used to play True Crime NY and a Scooby Doo game on my phone (before I got tired of charging so often). So its very good with flash games. Rating:

Reviewed by Jon on 11/12/2008 I bought this phone for £20 from carphone warehouse. It has a camera that takes ok pictures and it has lots of ringtones and message tones and you can change the wallpaper and colours. There are lots of options in all the menu's. The sound is loud enough to hear and the reception quality is excellent. This is one of the best phones i've had for hearing a conversation clearly. It has all the basics too like alarm clock and calender. For the price this is a fantastic phone with many features of a more expensive type. The only negatives are, it does feel a little bit cheap in the hand but it is ultra slim and you don't even notice you are carrying it. The only other problem i've had is trying to transfer data between the phone and PC. Other than that, this phone is definitely worth a look and I highly reccomend it. Rating:

The bad points- bad memory, no mp3, rubbish camera, browser never worked so ignore that point on features, and i don't know if its just my phone but the bluetooth would not pick up anything and you have to highlight it all and tis complicated to send files. Good points- thin, easy to navigate, good colours, cheap. Ok well I loved it when i got it but within a few days I realist its kinda rubbish. Motorola's i-tap is the best texting on a mobile phone. It's got all the functions you need. The camera and video are basic but adequate. Games are good and easily downloadable. I've got Pictionary and Dakar Rally on mine! The dislay is large and clear. The sound quality is great both in the earpiece and speaker. Bluetooth and Triband are useful. The best thing is the size. It's robust; goodness knows how many times I've dropped it, it looks great and it's very thin! The battery life has been fantastic - though I must say that I don't tend to leave battery draining functions like Bluetooth permanently switched on. If you want a phone with a good camera, stay well clear of the L6 - it isn't very good and the memory capacity is pitiful. It's appearance doesn't date, either. This phone is reliable and value for money. I won't be packing mine away just yet - I'll keep it in reserve in case my new handset lets me down! Rating:

Reviewed by TamTam on 27/02/2008 Although this phone is pleasing to the eye, it is NOT durable atall. I have had this phone for a little over a year. For the first month or so I thought it was ok, kinda cute. Then I realised it had several issues which became more and more of a problem as time went by: Firstly it has to be charged like every 5 or 6 hours. The battery is not powerful enough to handle the features of the phone, and results in a dying or dead battery every few hours. Secondly, the phone has a tendency to freeze. This started to happen more and more frequently as the phone got older. Thirdly it has some sort of PTT malfunctioning. Everytime I turned it on it gave some sort of error message about PTT contacts, even though I did not even touch the PTT button on the side. This also started to happen more frequently, and randomly (i.e. when the phone is on and I have not even touched it). The camera and video quality is VERY low. The images are fuzzy and out of focus... I can barely make them out. The camera has very LITTLE memory, so that it can hardly hold any pics, videos and mp3's. Unlike the L7 this phone does not come with a memory card slot! About 2 or 3 months ago the phone started to go blank. I would have to take out the battery and slip it back in for the phone to turn on. Finally it just never came back on, it doesn't take the charge, it is just totally USELESS now. I must add that these problems are not because of misuse or maltreatment of the phone. Physically the phone looks like it did the day i bought it. I never drop it, or toss it around... it doesn't even have scratches on it. Therefore I have not contributed in any way to the problems of this phone... the phone is just of POOR quality and at a very POOR standard. I would not advise ANYONE to buy this phone. Rating:

Reviewed by jimmer on 05/02/2008 Nearly 2 years on and this beauty still works gr8. Bluetooth, vids, camera, crystal clear sound and i mustve dropped it a dozen times and it still works fine, no probs. If they like the design, colours and thinness on hollyoaks- it proves this is a classic Rating:

Reviewed by Aliz0r on 24/01/2008 This phone is decent i got mine for £40 and i've had it about 4 months it's pretty good small camera but i'd say it's exeptional for the phone. The catch i'd say is the MP3 memory i have about two proper songs and I cant fit anymore in it's a pretty fustrating that it doesn't have a memory card slot for memory. Furthermore, Great Phone. Reviewed by JAN LIVERPOOL on 22/01/2008 I HAVE 2 OF THESE PHONES AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH THEM. THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND EASY TO USE. NOT MUCH MEMORY THATS THE ONLY PROBLEM, AND THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE TOO Rating:
Reviewed by ??? ! on 21/01/2008 this is the worst phone i have ever owned! every one says it's top banana but it is a total waste of money time and care. i have had it for about a year and ever since i got it i have been thinking of ways to brake it! so i got online and ordered the first phone i saw on the orange website, wich happened to be a sony ericson w200i. i don't have a clue what it looks like or what its features are because it hasn't come yet, wich is understandable because i ordered it 2 days ago. so motorolas are all rubish, nokia are the best and i like samsung and sony ericson. oh and don't buy a motorola because you will seriusly regret it!!! Reviewed by lazygirl on 17/01/2008 I just switched to a Samsung D900i and I miss this phone because of its easy to use functions and tough casing. It's a great beginners phone, tough to scratch the metal casing, and an excellent speaker. It can download a few songs from your PC too, but the camera has a mind of it's own-the pictures turn out blurry which is really annoying. Don't rely on the video unless it's a nice and sunny day with your subject on close up. The size is brill too, slim but too lightweight so that you don't know it's there. all in all a great basic phone. Rating:

Reviewed by Lucy on 04/01/2008 I hated this phone. I brought it as a cheap replacement as i had broken my phone. I find the keyboard hard to use. Its hard to text with it. It has a bad camrea. I hated the phone. It was the worse phone i even had. One good thing about the phone is that, it does not get starched easily. Lucky i now have a new better phone Rating:

Reviewed by matt b on 03/01/2008 Have to say not impressed. Tolerated for 12 months and now going back to Nokia. Interface poor and not intuitive - a problem with Motorolas that seems to be across the board. Otherwise okay but wouldn't recommend purely because the GUI is just too clunky. Rating:
