The only problem I have is that the battery does not hold its charge. I rarely use it but leave it on in case I need to be contacted. I have had a phone before but used to turn it off most times maybe thats the problem. I have only just realised you can transfer pictures to computer with special lead, I don1t think this was included when I bought this phone. I have had my phone for about 4/5 years so I think it must be obsolete by now.

If you want this phone just for basic use like calling someone or taking the odd picture and having a few ring tones its good but if you want it as a phone to take lots of pictures store songs on i would recommend the sony erricson s500. Good Phone And cheap for what it is :D

I still have my E550, got it when it came out and it's still working just fine. The battery hasn't degraded at all. I've taken a few photos, mainly just to have different wallpapers. Can't complain about the camera really - if you want good pics get a camera! Phone book is plenty big enough too. I thought I'd never be able to use anything but Nokia but the E550 is just so easy. Best of all is the soft feel and flip up - no more accidentally calling people while the phone's knocking around in my bag. The only thing I can't do is get my new SIM card reader to access the phone book on my laptop???

Hi, just 2 say i've used this phone for nearly 2 years now. Its easy to use, i like the Motorola design, & its features. Starting to look for a new phone, as i LOVE my music so much, & thats where the phone lets me down !!! just managed to add one 3.40 minute song & it took 10 mins ++ to add it. Checking out Samsung, Sony Ericcson & Nokia now ! its time for me 2 move on in the phone market & get listening to my favourite music on the move !! Its a good starter phone, dont know how much price is now but just under 2 years ago, cost me £80 !!!

It took 13 years for me to switch from my 'brick' of a mobile to one I actually liked. The Motorola E550 just 'felt' right and had all the features I wanted and at a reasonable price. Probably not used it to it's full potential with bluetooth & MP3 but has really served it's purpose for me. Have read some of the low reviews on this product, the purchasers who gave this mobile a low rating should really research a product before purchasing, to saves all the 'winging' after! It is your own fault if the E550 did not reach your expectations. I had my E550 stolen today - will try and get another but not out much hope! Sharon.

When Motorola first launched this phone back in 2004 it would have been one of the best phones going. But in the space of 3 years technology has moved on. The Bluetooth speed is slow, The camera and video qualities are poor, There is no real MP3 player the USB is far too difficult, The games dissapear after 4 months and also looks rather ugly (especially in blue). Motorola is a poor make and I would reccomend Sony Ericsson, Samsung or Nokia.

I was wrong. before i was kinda in the middle ages and had never had a camera phone before, so i guess that explains me being excited. but now i have upgraded to a sony w810 which is excellent - the e550 freezes, is slow, has rubbish memory and is bulky with its 130g weight and pertruding antennae. sorry if i misled some people into buying this phone before - they can't even sell it on ebay now for, like, £10, so that explains how rubbish it is. don't bother, kay?

Sturdy strong phone. Stylish yet simple design. Now, the camera is its best feature. Its quality is amazing - even compared to the Motorola RAZOR, its clarity and detail is amazing for its pixel rating. One bad point about this phone is its memory. Video recording is too short, can only handle a few short clips and is often slow to save. This goes the same for its voice recording. BUT.. This is a very reliable phone. If your looking for a phone to store hundreds of mp3s, store lots of pictures/videos then simply buy a walkman phone or one which you can purchase additional memory. Overall - reliable if your looking for a simple, durable phone with some extra features.

I found the phone ok to start off with, it had good photo quality and good devices -bluetooth good (if searching for people choose item to send then look for devices - found works/better). however found the video short 10sec max. or misses sound out. the memory on this phone is terrible, has lots of locked on sound which can not be deleted. found phone excelent in use easy to acess all areas, buttons good layout and size. i have still use my e550 after 2yrs however disapointed on memory and hope to be replacing it soon for a bigger memory phone - a shame they don't do a memory card or stick for phone. in all i give this phone a 5/10, depending on what you want in a phone, i would think a good phone for the adult, who does not care so much for memory and video.

This phone is truly class. Some say you can only get it to record vids for about 7 secs - if you go to setup, you can change the time to about 20 seconds - me and my mates were having so much fun filming! The fotofun is kl - a truly great way to make fun of everyone - and the Motomixer is really cool, as you can compose your own ringtones quickly and easily. This is my second phone - I nabbed it for £20 - and it was a real bargain. I guess it is kinda heavy, and bigger compared to some samsungs, but what can you expect; It's a motorola, packed with features. Now, I don't know whether it's because I bought it second-hand, but mine didn't come with a USB cable OR a bluetooth dongle. Now, what's the point of having the capability of doing these things if you have to pay an extra £15 to buy the cable/dongle? Pointless, I say. Nevertheless, I really do love this phone for everything it can do (iTap is so handy, the camera is good, it's user-friendly - I didn't need the instructions!) so I reccommend this phone for anyone who wants a middle-range, fun camera phone.

I got the Motorola E550 a few days ago on T-Mobile Pay As You Go. I bought it because of the extensive features like Bluetooth, high-quality colour screen, still- and video-camera, the possibility to use MP3 files as ringtones (MP3 files sound excellent on this handset) and of course the design. I have an Apple Mac at home (not a PC) so I rely on Bluetooth to transfer data (images, sound-files). This works without any problems. It would have been a brilliant handset (especially for the price offered) if you could actually make some decent calls on it. As far as I know this is the main purpose of any phone. In some areas it struggles to keep the signal, even though it shows full strength before you make or receive a call. I tried my Nokia 6600 in the same area on the same Network and had no problems whatsoever. Even in areas with a low reception signal I have now problems having a decent conversation on my Nokia, while with the Motorola E550 you can hardly understand a single word as it keeps on breaking up. So my question to Motorola is: What is the point in so many features on a phone, when it can't even pick up a decent signal (Nokia can do it, and all their phones have an INTERNAL antenna). I am quite annoyed about this, because this is usually a fault of a brand new technology, but mobiles have been around us now for over 10 years. Never mind, ey, at least it got Bluetooth...
