this phone is no good ,i bought and i had many problems since i bought it , base was borked within two weeks , software is down , battery very weak , useless dont buy it.

Don't be fulled by the review i have one and let's just say if you play any video faster than 5 fps it will lag as hell you can barely find games or apps for it.The speakers on it have a small as hell opening from witch you can barely hear them etc. etc...The only good thing is the camera IT MAKES INSANELY GOOD PICTURES!...

I started having problems with this phone a few months after purchase. It began shutting down spontaneously. I replaced the battery once and after the problem continued the phone was replaced. The problem continued and I finally exchanged the phone for a different model all together. I do not recommend this phone.

This phone is the most rubbish phone you could ever imagine, it may look good but it doesnt pop up with missed calls or texts, the volume is so quiet, it always freezes and the scroll which seems a good idea at first is the most annoying thing in the world!!!!! I REALLY RECOMEND YOU DONT BUY THIS PEICE OF JUNK! if i could put no stars i would

yo this is crazyyy....... i have had my LG shine for 2 and a half years and ive dropped this phone on solid concrete almost every day becuase my phone is on my lap. its a bad habbit. but every time i pick it up it works. it basicly self destructs wen it hits theground making it so its kinda like its got a shock absorber. then iput it back together and and it works. please reply

i guess the phones okay..but i have lots of problems with it and the store i got it from didnt even give me a replacement. the cameras quality isnt that good. and the scroll is just plain annoying and the phone is sooooo slow. when i got it, it was fine but after a while it kept having faults. And it keeps saying there something wrong with my phone when there isnt ive tested it on other phones and it works fine there. There is a fault with the phone. But i like the the mp3 as i loveee music <33

i bought this phone and so did my friend at the same time. These phones are okay if you just want to do basic things like ring people. However i would definately NOT recomennd this phone! There is a thing on the front that you use to scroll up and down and on mine and my friends phone this just stopped working within the phone being less than 6 months old. This phone freezes regularly and on the whole is just not a very good phone. I now have the LG cookie, this phone is much better and isnt all that expensive. I find it much easier to use without the scroll and is generally a much better phone.

LOVE IT. Not one of the best but it has all the useful applications a fancy phone has. The stainless metal steel is the bonus feature for this phone. Love the back of it because it looks like a touch phone in some ways either ways it is a nice, fastionable phone to own.

If you manage to break this phone you are a serious klutz. I've dropped it numerous times on concrete, with no damage at all. The biggest pain is that you can't easily customize message alert tones or any other sounds besides the ring.

I don't know why everyone is saying that this phone is awful, it is a good quality cheap (ish) phone. The roller key is a good touch and the flat keys are easy to use. The mirror effect is a good feature, when you have to re apply makeup or something like that. The camera is as good as a 3.2 megapixel camera (as used in the Apple iPhone 3Gs and the LG Cookie). I would give the phone overall a 5 out of 5 because it is an easy phone to use.

I get sick of Memory Exceed keep flashing up when I've sent texts, why does that happen even if I've only sent 2 msgs? And another thing is it keeps switching itself off every time I close the slide. The screen gets scratched way too easily, and I won't be buying LG again.

This was my 1st LG phone, i was higly impresed. One thing i would say bad about it is sometimes if you are in a hurry the scroll gets a bit annoying and not many games or apps. also you cant see the screen in the sun and the battery runs out VERY quickly! 6/10

I like this phone to be honest, I've had mine nearly two years. Only just started to have real problems with it when sometimes it won't charge but its done the job for me all this time. If you're looking for something easy to use, relatively cheap and cheerful, this is the phone for you.

The LG shine is alright, my friend has it and she adores it but i don't think its right for me because the scroll wheel is hard to work and actually it only comes in one colour it would have looked better in gold or pink. Although i don't like the phone don't make my review make you think twice about the phone i mean like there will be some people who absolutely hate the phone and there will be some who love it, you just have to know which one suits you best.

I regret buying this phone so much! i dislike the sheer shine of it, i've never been blinded by a phone.. it takes it's best pictures in sunlight.. well.. thats if you can actually SEE the screen while your taking a picture!! my girlfriend uses it to check her make up and hair every now and again so it's got some use out of the shiney mirror-like screen.. Features.. well where are they? no image editing, BAD message tones, 4 to choose from and you cant have anymore.. thats really annoying when all i want is a really good tune when i get a message! instead all i get is a sad excuse for a message tone! NOT GOOD! The ringtones are just as bad.. especially ''Life is good, shabby do wha wha.. etc'' i cringed so much when i heard that! you can change it to one of your mp3's though so all is not lost.. It's a lovely looking phone and the blue and black theme is gorgeous, my two favourite colours together Text messaging.. what on earth is up with this!! After two pages it gets ridicously slow.. not snail pace.. sloth pace! i write 4 words, and its still struggling typing out the first one, i have to wait for it to catch up.. and does anyone elses Lg Shine send old messages as new ones when recieving a text.. sometimes the new message is hidden in two parts in an old message.. yep confusing isnt it? it's just really annoying! Camera is slow, and takes bitty pictures unless your outdoors and in good lighting conditions.. the take time is really slow.. the video is abismal.. nothing else to say.. my Fly SlT100 was superior to this and that cost me 34.99 and had a touch screen and everything you could ask for in a phone! but i had to get rid as i moved from virgin to 02 and couldnt unlock the phone, i payed £70 for this phone and regret every penny i spent on it.. im trying flog it now for £50, ill do anything get rid of it, im gonna but the samsung s3500 on friday as i'm just so fed up of this phone! It's been known to turn itself off as well, happened to me twice.. If you want a phone that's gonna stand out, then its for you.. If you want a reliable phone that doesn't stress you out, buy something else.. POOR!

this has to be the worst phone for signal there has ever been...I regurly use my alarm clock which is getting so annoying as i have to use the themes already on the phone as my wake up call !! and after a while they get rather annoying. surly i can somehow use the mp3 songs ??!! anyway if your a serious buyer and need a reliable phone stay clear

My LG Shine Is Almost A Year Old. Today I Was Using The Scroll Bar To Search Through My Texts When The Bar Suddenly Went Loose And Now It Doesn't Work. It's Not Impossible To Use The Phone Now But It Really Is A Nuisance. Help?

at first when i got the phone, i thought it was amazing. it did indeed look good, with the mirror finish and the scroll bar etc, but i found after about a year, the camera stopped working properly, it would shake and go blurry when i took a picture. this annoyed me a lot, but the thing that got to me most was in my txt messages. i'd be sent a message, and it would embedd itself with other older messages, so i had half of one message, half of another in the same message, which meant that they took up unnecessary storage space, and made reading the message a pain in the backside. the mp3 is also bad quality. tbh, i was hoping for something better, and now using my phone has become a bit of a chore. =[

I love this phone, however, I am unable to send or receive some text messages, pictures and videos due to there not being any MMS settings. Not sure how to fix this problem.

most user unfriendly phone I have ever had. Can't wait until my contract is up (6 more months) to get a new phone. ring is not loud enough, shuts off for no reason, can't figure out how to transfer pictures from phone to home computer.

I have this phone and my only problem is it's way 2 quiet I miss half of my calls even if it's turned to the loudest and if I do pick up a call it's because of the vibrate but quite a good phone anyway getting a nokia e63 instead!!!'

This phone has so many problems with it. You can't use the left and right navigation buttons next to the stupid roller unless your fingers are a millimetre thin, the roller it self you cant use without pushing it in, the camera flash is rubbish, you cant shut the phone once you have started to send something through bluetooth without it cancelling, and the battery life is so rubbish its unbelievible, you can get better phones for £40 or £50 than this. And to add to it, the phone is so heavy thanks to its stainless steel casing. dont buy it.

I've had this phone for about a year and a half and it's still pretty good - I love the mirror and find the roller useful. The camera is pretty good too. The internet works really well and I always get good reception, plus I can get about200 sent messages and 200 messages in my inbox before it starts to tell me it's full. A little heavey, but the looks make up for it! I would reccommend to buy external memory for it though as it doesn't hold too many files. If you have a problem with signal it's probably nothing to do with the phone, I can assure you. This phone is also strong and durable - I know this because I spilt half a bottle of coke on it and now after 24 hours its back to normal. No battery problems, if you have any it's obviously something you've done.

This phone is good. I like it, but the thing is it i dont have a external card so i can't put many things on it eg. songs/pictures. Also on the Memo it doesnt let me type more than 80 words which is NOT good at all. I don't understand why companies make phones with things that a phone really needs and then they expect it to be highly popular :s weird. The only thing i like it about it is the World Clock, the Mirro at the front and the Analog Stick. If i could, id defintely buy a better phone.

well its a good phone. ive had it for about a year now. i havent had any problems with it. just the annoying things about it.. when your listening to music you cant change screen. like text or something. and also cos the screen is a mirror when your outside on a sunny day its a bit hard to see. but other than than that, i love it. XD P.S: if your worried about the scrolly thing, its really easiy to get used to.

I found this phone easy to use, but some things were too complicated for my liking, i think there should also be more choice of ringtones, and the camera wasnt the best, lets say. This phone though had alot of added extras that you would not get on most phones, and the look of the phone is very modern and stylish.

after reading the comments below i had my doubts about the fone, now that ive tried it i partially agree with some but most of the people over exagurate, yes it is shiny but u can c it in the light, the roller is annoying *at first* but then its fine and it NEVER turns off. they must b using a dodgey piece of equipment... worthless hunk of junk. navigation seems to have been designed by a 7 year old so not flexible or logical. worse, my screen craked (or had a 'bleeding lcd crystal') without any pressure or knock t the phone. even worse, in under a year it had 2 batteried. EVEN WORSE, if there is sunshine outdoors - don't even try to use your phone. because you CAN'T SEE THE SCREEN! all you see is the mirror! this is the biggest piece of rubbish i have ever owned. i've complained to the company and to the retailer and they have been nothing but rude and uncaring. rubbish phone, rubbish company. STAY AWAY FROM LG OR YOU'LL REGRET WASTING YOUR MONEY! wish i coulld give it a 'no star' rating!

I Got This Phone A Year Ago And Havent Liked It For A While. The Memory Is Rubbish And It Can Hold Like 3 Songs So You Have To Buy A Micro SD Card. You Cant see A Thing On the Phone When You Are Outside And The Phone Is Very Quiet Wich Annoy's Me As I Love Playing Music. My Blutooth Kept Going Wrong Too As It Would Not Pair With Cerain Phone And I Could Not Recieve Files Of Them. Also My memory Went Funny And It Said It Was Full But I Had Only Used 10% Of It. When I Tried To Fix It The Phone Wiped Everything Off And I Had Nothing Left. Also The Buttons Dont Work Sometimes When I Press Them And If I Put The Charger In It Dosent always Charge So I have To Turn The Phone Off And Start It Agian. When You Slide The Phone Up And Down I Use My Thumb On The Middle Of The LOwer Part Of The Screen As There Is No OTher Way, i Know Have A Huge Dent In the Middle. Very Annoying. Im Also Quite Clumbsy So I Drop The Phone Alot And The Screen Cracks Easily. Not A Good Phone I Would ent Recomend It To Anyone.

needed a new battery, needed a new screen, then when the sun came out - instantly unuseable. you cannot actually see the screen *at all* in the daylight. i've complained to LG and to the retailer but have made it very clear i feel the fault is with lg and they have absolutely washed their hands of it. avoid at all costs. and judging by their treatment of my complaint (which was simply initally an inquiry to see if they'd developed some sort of cover to make it useable), i would not even consider purchasing another lg product ever. you have been warned!

This phone isnt to bad, i had a problem with the screen keep cracking. A simple 2 foot drop and it would be shattered. I love the camera and all in all its a good phone. Just the screen is quite weak.

I liked the phone but after 5 months the 3 keys not on the inside of slider stopped working unless the phone was slid down, which if your a texter like me is a big pain. But otherwise it was a pretty good phone

Wonderful phone. Had mine for awhile now with no problems at all. The volume on its highest settings is low when trying to listen to the person calling you, but I can deal with that. It is a very beautiful phone, expensive-looking, and I also like the camera too. I have had no problems with charging the phone, or with the phone powering up or down. In fact, it has run smoothly from the time I first bought it. Mine is still looking brand new from the day I first bought it to now, and that was something like five months ago. Never had any problems at all with the phone {so far so good.} I suppose that beauty is within the eye of the beholder, and I am beholden to it. Best phone I have had so far.

Don't go there. I really tried to get on with this phone but after a couple of months sent it with relief to phonebank. The mirror screen is impossible to read outside and the rolling scroll bar nothing more than a nuisance which made using the menus really irritating. It's fairly hefty to carry around and the reception, for a new phone, was far worse than my five-year old Samsung. Save up and buy the LG Cookie which is brilliant.

This phone is sooooo good. I got it on T-mobile pay as you go for £34.99. This is such a good phone for this price. People have been saying hoe they have fingerprints on the screen making it hard to read but you can get round this by wiping it off. True, the screen can be hard to see in the sun but the camera on the phone is really good. This phione is a great buy and is well worth evry penny!!!!!!!!!!!

all you people that scratch and put finger prints on the phone. there is a simple answer. dont put anything in the same pocket as is. and wash then no greasey finger prints. ive had this phone for a couple of weeks and is has not a single scratch on it. ive also had an ipod touch for geting on for two years and its in perfect condidtion. what do you expect if you have your loose change in the same pocket!!!!!!

Reply to 'a' from 'england' you can see in the sun and you can sync files with the pc, just get a usb cable. its an awesome phone, love the navigation bar, makes some sexy noises, LOL (; but you should be able to get other text alert tones, the only one that comes with the phone is a bit to quiet. but the phone is great. easy to get the hang of with texting, awesome mirror screen. i love it.!

I have had the LG shine for a while and it is a good phone, yet the screen scratches and cracks. The metal painwork chips and scratches, it shows the most in the pink, so get the silver. BUT. It is a sexy phone, the scroller is fun and its simple and very easy to use. I recomend it to everyone, but dont take the screen cover off, and also..DONT DROP IT TOO MUCH XD

got this phone in a normal shop not Internet, for 99 eur. Nice phone, looks perfect, maybe little hard to see the screen when shiny days (but any phone is like that the screen is not so nicely seen when its sun)have no problems with freezing or swithnig off, battery is working for 3 days with medium usage (not like you are always in the phone) for me its ok, I jsut love the design!!!! Its not so scratchable if you dont throw it here and there:) (I mean Im not so careful with phones either but still its fine with me), ringing tones are very loud - the default ones, but the ones i downloaded were quiet (but then we found program how you can make songs louder before you put them inside and now its super loud, messages are also loud, by the way in profile u can change the volume), maybe memory is nto so big but if u want mp3 player just get Ipod. Camera has really not so good zoom but quality is nice.I have no probs w sms messages it stores 200 sms, only emails 20 in ea ch folder, then it deleats the first saved email with notification.Any way I dont have problems w my phone, if you have then just dont buy from internet, buy from normal shops!!!!!!!

My 1st LG Shine had to be returned as would not switch on so was replaced. My 2nd LG Shine worked for approx 3 weeks and now also refuses to turn on! The screen is impossible to view in day light as it reflects too much.The roller device is annoying to use and therefore difficult navigate the screen options. Reception not as good as previous fones. A friend has now had 4 faulty LG Shines!! I'm looking for an alternative fone.

Had this phone on contract and was sooo relieved when it was time to upgrade. Lots of things I couldn't stand about this phone. It really gave LGs a bad name if you ask me. First thing was the awful scroll thing. , it hurt my fingers so much! Also, when you were in a light place the screen was barely visible because of the mirror material. The sound wasn't very loud and the memory was rubbish. Moved on to Sony Ericsson's and they're much much better!

I love this phone! My mom has had this phone for 4 months and there has been no problems. My friend has one longer than my mom, maybe for about 2 years, and she said that this was the best phone in the whole world! XD The volume ajustment is great and so is the Internet, Music, Videos, I could list FOREVER! I would reccomend this to anyone that loves Cell Phones! =D

I've had this phone for a year and a half and I love it - my only concerns are that the MP3 doesn't hold many songs and the screen is difficult to see in the sunlight. Needs charging roughly every three days, but in all the time I've had I've never had to take it back for repairs.

it is a great phone though the mp3 player does not read music from the memory card. but only music from the phone and it has a low speaker sound. despite all this it is still great so if you could solve this problem we will be very grateful

Had my shine for 2 or 3 weeks. What I like, the weight, fairly large keys, ability to store and open word, excel, and txt files, quite large keys, memory upgradable to 2 gig What I don't like, ring tone is not loud enough, message tones the same, really miss the distinctive Nokia message tone on my last phone. The instructions could be better for instance your not told when connecting a USB cable you have to set the phone to "mass storage" to upload mp3's, jpgs, word, excell and text files. If you want to update the address book, calendar or add memo's using the LG software on your PC, then you ahve to set the phone to "data". I had to search, online to learn this!

Being a dedicated Samsung phone user, I was wary of this phone but I really like layout and design. Texting is easy and quick and the menu style is cool. However, there are loads of problems when you try to connect it to your PC , it doesn't work! Also, JAVA games are never compatible with this phone but you are still charged!

i wanted this phone for so long but have given up on it and gone back to using my motorola razr. It is impossible to use in sunlight; it is frustrating to navigate through the menu, ie when sending a txt you have to go through three options before even starting; the battery life is abysmal and constantly needs charging; the games are poor.the only good things i have to say about it are that it looks good, the camera is not too bad for 2 mp and when i first got it i loved using the cleaning pad. Apart from that i would not recommend to a friend. Dont believe the hype!

I have just purchased this phone as a spare and to call my Vodafone Friends/family. At the moment I have a Fly SLT100 and it was only £30 quid and it does a lot more and with ease then the Shine. You cant get them any more . I have just Emailed Support stating why you can only get 10 tracks on the MP3 player and why you can only play one track at a time from the storage card. I am just glad I only got it for 39.99 (carphone Warehouse) but I still had to by the USB cable and earphones which do not come with it and you are not informed of this in the instructions. The ring volume could be louder but I make sure the vibrate is on ! Reception is good . Alarm Excellent and the music through bluetooth headphones using A2DP is fantastic. I have not expierienced the display in the sunshine yet. I'm glad this is not my main phone but as a spare its ok . I would advise that a Samsung J700 is better and easier to operate then this and you get all the cables! Get this phone if you want to show off but it should not be taken seriously !!

Also, I agree with the person who said that you have to go all the way back to the main screen just to reply to a message. The scrolling wheel drives me mad as it is very hard to use. hmmm. . . .there all lot of good qualities, and bad. I have the pink Lg Slide and it comes with a handy mini screen wiper which attaches onto the phone, and it is really useful for when you do get finger prints on it. It gets scratched quite easily, but only when dropped!! I have had no problems with the battery or with the loudness, as i always have it on vibrate due to being at school. I can fit over 150 texts both in the inbox and the outbox. I am not to keen on the scroller as i sometimes knock it or it goes to far through the contacts and it takes a while to land on the contact i want to phone!! Erm. . . I can put documents on the phone, but they don't show up, but when i plugged it into my laptop, they appear!! So it's like a pretty little memory stick!! i can store over 400 photos on it, providing i have my memory card in it!! My bluetooth works fine, I can keep it on for at least 4 days, without the battery dying!! The games are fun!!! For £69 i carnt really complain!! It looks good, works fine and does what i need it to do!! One more thing, i carn't seem to get it to send picture messages!!! But thats aout it!!! other than that, i like it, quite alot!!!

I love this phone. I've had it for almost 18 months now and it's still going great. I don't see why people are so bothered by the shiney screen outside or getting smudgey, it's obvious it would do that. I love how much it shines because i can use it as a mirror =) I would recommend this phone to anyone, it's easy to use and i particularly like the scroller, makes it a lot easier to use. the camera is great and the screen is nice and clear =) Great phone =)

well everyone seems to of slated it so im gonna stand up for it as i got the new nokia 6600 slide and thats failed 5 times in 2 months so havin the hump of it i went out looking for a cheap payg phone on my network to put my cards into and this fitted the bill ive had no problems so far with it the only thing i will say is the scroll key is a bit difficult to get to grips to start wit and the screen does reflect quite badly in the sun.

When i first got my LG Shine i thought it was amazing, it looked good, felt good in the hand and got me soo much attention !!! but after having for about 3months it started shutting down and refusing to turn back on !! i kept removing the battery and replacing it and this can get very annoying !!! i still have my Lg Shine and it has been a year !!! the roller is very annoying, its difficult to use and makes the fone even worse !!! alot of people look at an Lg Shine and think WOW that phones nice !! but its not !!! if you are looking for a stylish phone that you will only have for 6months then i would recommend this phone for you but if you are aimming on getting a phone too last you a few years then its not the one for you !!! hope this helps.

My friend has one of these and its really quite a good phone. The mirror feature, while a really cool thing to have does get annoying while trying to use the phone in daylight and the roller is kind of irritating. Apart from that, its a cool phone and a really good fashion statement. I was impressed with the camera too, for 2 megapixels it has good quality. All in all, if you want a cheap, fashionable phone and you are not a very keen texter [and also like a good camera] go for this!

It's pretty awful! I read all the bad reviews on this phone but then become drawn in by it's beauty and the way it feels when you first pick it up. Beautiful on the outside maybe but pretty ugly inside. texting: AWFUL!! The buttons are super hard and are not comfortable, sometimes it wouldn't even type a certain letter, took it back to the shop and because it happens randomly they didn't believe me! The predictive text is also pretty poor, very simple, doesn't come up with the options so you have to scroll through them all. Over all rubbish with the texting!! Seeing: The ultimate basics of any phone! You should be able to see whats going on with your phone, but no with the ultra shiny screen when your outside in pretty much any weather, even British! You can't see what's on the screen properly!! Calls: The ring tone is pretty quite, but the sound on the phone is good. Tones: sometimes when a text message comes through it will vibrate, sometimes it will vibrate and have a melody!!!! Never know what you're going to get!!! Some may say exciting, i say annoying! Again the ring tones are quite, no amazing ones on the phone or anything. Sometimes the slidey up noise will happen, sometimes it doesn't. Camera: Good quality, takes FOREVER to load up when you want to use it or look at your images. I have given up on it! Scroll button: Its ok, but is sometimes over sensitive and sometimes slowwwwwww!!!! zzzzzzz! Overall, the whole phone works pretty slowly. Lovely feel to it except the buttons. I like the weight to it, and the look but the guts of this phone which you start to see about a week in...it gets ugly oh so very fast! This phone has left me never wanting to get a LG phone ever again!

I have this phone, and I'm upgragin it soon, thank god. I hate it. I thought it was good at first but within a week or so the novelty wore off. First things first the signal is terrible. Also a big big big problem that I have is it has a tendency to freeze, so I'll have to take the battery out and put it back in again, and it really is time consumin. And the camera is atrocious. All in all I do not recommend this phone to anyone.

i think that this is an ok phone - its looks really pretty, and is very easy to use - despite popular opinion that the scroll bar is rubbish - the camera - although a little slow, is good. i just ave one main problem nd that is the memory. i have had this phone for a year now - and although it saysa i have used up 66% of the memory - in the sub categories it adds up to about 20 percent - i don't think it deletes old mesages, photos ect - is anyone else hving this problem?? thanks

A very lovely phone indeed. Yes it does have quirks. Like poor ring volume and hard to see in the sun. Strangely my biggest complaint comes down to being male. I found the key board very uncomfortable against my face when making calls if i was not clean shaven. Having your stubble caught between metalic keys is not nice. The camera does produce lovely snaps. Good to print.

i got this fone a while ago... it was okay at first buh then it got bad! -i have to hold the charger in - hold down the on button for about 2days to get it on - really quiet - bad memory! i stopped using it and got a walkmen! best fone in the world soooo dependable! i changed network so had to go back to the lg shine worst thing ive ever done! Happy with everything except the MP3 Player. There's an MP3 shortcut button on the side (great idea) but it links direct to the INTERNAL memory (44MB) and not the EXTERNAL memory card that you will no doubt fit if you want to listen to music. I say this because the internal mempry is only big enough to hold approx 2 songs! LG say it's a design fault and you can't associate the MP3 button with the external memory file, so you have to go the long way around (Menu/My Stuff/Sounds/External Memory/MP3/Album Folder/Song Title.MP3 - On the external memory, you can only listen to one song too, and then have to press 'Back' and then select another song!

had the phone for about a year, has a good first impression and is funy to play with the scroller etc. but after a while, the scroller never moves unless u roll it 100 times, the keypad is fiddly as it is flat, the video is shocking, its extremely quiet , and it shuts down whenever you slide it down after a while.

This phone is terrible, the Plexiglass protecting the screen is not strong enough, I heard that if you drop the phone, it may also damage the interior LCD. and is not covered by LG. Piece of rubbish LCD broke after 1 month, did not damage the plexiglass according to the Customer service it was treated as an external damage even though there was no damage to the exterior glass, they dont cover the LCD as it is treated as an external Damage, Customer service is TERRIBL, wont even listen to your response and will hang up on you. This phone is probably the worst phone I have ever had. It's heavy and the slide feature gathers dirt like a magnet and causes it to scrape when you open it and eventually damages the phone. The screen collects more fingerprints than a crime scene and the 'handy' little screen wiper charm that you recieve in the box with the phone bangs off the screen when it's not being used and scratches the screen. The buttons are easier to use but you can't personalize message tones and as far as that goes, they don't give you much choice at all. The camera is good but if you don't have a memory card (which you don't get with the phone so you have to make do with the actual memory) then you can store up to 3 or 4 songs. The little roller on the front gathers dirt and dust quickly too and becomes hard to spin and even when it isn't hard to spin, it is so sensitive, it takes ages to actually use because it keeps scrolling past the application you want to use. The case and screen scratch really easily. I owned this phone for 6 months and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

I got this phone in October 08 and i was in phone heaven. I loved my lg shine so much until the buttons stopped working in early december. i sent it away to be repaired and it came back 3 days ago and just this morning the buttons stopped working.. again! i am so frustrated this is such an awful phone. the screen scratches very easily, and im a very careful person when it comes to taking care of my phone. i found that the buttons on the side and the area around the camera became rusty for no apparent reason. please do not waste your money on this phone!

Ok so the phone looks good!! but that is it when it comes to advantages. You cant change the message tone and it is very quiet (not great when your on a night out and your waiting for a call). the phone doent come with a memory card so you wll have to fork out for one if you want to keep pictures etc. on the phone. Camera is rubbish (expected though as it is only 2 mega pixels) I have had this phone for 15months on a contract and i cant wait to get rid of it. I will not be getting another LG!!!!!! Poor!!!

Hate my LG Shine. Should have taken it back to the shop. Despite the camera having a flashy name its performance is not great and is slow to respond. Must frustratingly however is that the phone refuses to play most of the mp3 music I have saved on it. I can see the MP3 tunes from the computer (when detected) but the phones music player refuses to acknowledge that they are there, even when I browse the exact folder using the phone. The flywheel navigation system is fiddly. Buttons are close together/illdefined I find it too easy to be pressing the wrong button General navigation around the phone is OK but is frustrated by the above

When i read a review of it before i bought it it said it was a brilliant 5 star phone and the design was fabulos i'll admit but the interface was just plain boring, the mp3 wouldn't play more than 1 song at a time, the camera was lousy and whats worse the screen stopped working roughly a year after i bought, unfortunately just as my insurance expired. My advice is don't get it its not worth it even though the price has been afectively cut in half.

well it would be good for people who live in china shops if you geet my drift, it breaks easy, also it shuts down on me after i play any one song, if i had known id have this much trouble with it i would have never bought it, not to mention i broke the screen and all they did was replace the led crystal meaning the markings on the screen are still there, also rogers represtentatives in my are horrid customer service reps

I bought this phone after quite a lot of debate... I love it!!! It doesnt break easily and the scroller is not annoying--maybe for people with not-very-delicate fingers but not for me or my friends. I was upset yesterday though because I dropped it and the corner chipped slightly :(

At first I loved the phone - then I realised that I couldn't change the text alert and it is mega annoying after a few months. Now, it has just shut down unexpectantly on me - absolutely no reason - and will not turn back on. It is a true disaster since it is only 10 months old.

i think it is a good phone but the down side is the mp3 player, even with a sd card you just cant seem to play songs through the player its self plus the fact it does'nt play continueous you have to skip each track, i find this rather annyoing cos ypu need the phone in your hand all the time to change songs

This phone is cool when you first get it... THEN the problems start. I have absolutley no service... EVER!! It hangs up ALL THE TIME!! It doesnt hold battery for anything, have to charge it all the time. VERY unreliable. The computer part of it isn't THAT bad, in comparison however it does have it's corks. The keys are REDICULOUS!!! I even have very small fingers and I text alot and its very hard for me to text!! I'm in the process of trying to get a new phone.

This phone is rubbish. I have had to have it replaced 4 times and i got it like 2 months ago! If it isn't dropping my calls, its randomly shuting off, then one of the phones they gave me would lock up, one the screen had lines going down or across the screen, like it was faded or something, the charger will go in and out of charging, DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$

Well I cant believe the compliants but maybe I will find out after a week or so if they are justified. So far I love the phone, although will agree it is a little quiet on the ringing side , quite the opposite to my Nokia which I have lost! This is why I have replaced with this shiny little number. As far as fingerprints are concern, it isnt really a big deal unless you have been eating and then use the phone or have hand cream on. You just easily wipe the screen over your top to buff it up. The phone has a lovely weighty feels about it, not like some plastic ones around. It feels expensive with a small price tag. Only one concern right now.. The phone did not come with a USB connector, so not sure how to get the pics on the pc or get songs on to the phone. So I guess this can be found on e bay..I,m off to look for one then...

terrible phone. keypad is disguisting. Charger isnt goood. I had to repair this phone 3 times. Thumb prints get stuck to scren easily. Not enough talk timme. After an hour or so the phone starts to get low batery. Alarm clock is succky. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IF YOU ARE A DESCENT HUMAN BEING.

You can't see the screen in sunlight. It scratches easily. When there is no memory card the phone can hold barely any songs. When there is a memory card, the MP3 player can't access the files. A true disappointment.

I am floating some whre in the middle over this phone issue... yes its bonny, and yes the function are all good enough. But the main reason i wanted the bloody thing was to take photos and upload them onto my pc. I went outta my way to buy a data cable off the internet, only to discover that setting it up to recognise my phone its self is a total and utter night mare. I spent literally 3 hours the other day and then gave up. So hence forth, i cant get the pictures off the phone and onto my pc, whats the point? Any one wanna tell me how please feel free.... dont even get me started on the mp3..... grrrrrr!!!

Hello. I just wanted to share my opinion on the LG shine. At first I thought this was a good all round phone that looked quite smart. Not long after, and i mean not long after my opinion changed quite quickly. I found this phone boring and also the scroll key kept moving to the wrong position when used. This is my secound LG shine in 6 months. The calculator broke on the first one and then soon after i lost intrest. There is not enough toys on this phone and men need there gadgets to keep intrested in things... If you are not intrested in a phone with all the gadgets ect ect, then you will find this a good and easy phone to use.

Got this phone last february! i love it, its so unique and everyone i know loves that it turns into a mirror :D only problem i have (apart from it scratches really easily) is the text alert and ringtone will randomly play loud and quiet no matter how high the volume is... but it has not put me off Lgs and the LG Shine! Let's get things straight. This phone is reliable and easy to use. All the bad reviews are a load of rubbish. 1st of all, this only took me 5 min to write because of its very good predictive text system. 2cd, if you find you're Ringtone isn't loud enough, then just turn it up on profiles. Also the person who was complaining about not being able to change the text ring i suggest you read the manual before writing a review. I have had an LG shine for about 6 months now and I love it! It seems to be durable seeing that I drop it constantly. Some things I would suggest, but a screen protector (they are a cheap film that will prevent lots of scratches to the screen) buy several plastic covers in colors you like (these are a life saver like I said I drop my phone all the time and it doesn't have a scratch on it thanks to these cheap plastic cover, yeah the covers break but thats better than your phone!!). I would totally get this phone again features are wonderful

This is awful. I LOVED the LG shine for so long and it worked perfect until NOW. i got it in June, here it is December. It's begun moving on it's own!!!! I try to go to something and the phone just moves itself. in the Menu...it just goes all around the options over and over and over again...........I'd say, it's ok, if I had to do it over again, i'd ABSOLOUTLEY not get this phone.

Everyone was complaining about the lg shine but i didn't care because i liked them and wanted one so i got one. The way everybody was talking i thought it would be rubbish but it was so not ... it was superb it does everything i don't see why everyone was moaning about them because they are fantastic so i would recommend them to anyone. the phone is useless my daughters screen disappeared and when i phoned LG customer services they tried to put the blame on my daughter by saying a minute crack on the screen caused this to happen, she has not had use of her phone since May and last night my niece called to tell me her phone is the same minus the crack i have been in contact with customer services since June about resolving this issue before Dec.17th as this is when my warranty runs out.

I hate this mobile i have had it 1 year. After the Sony ericsson 750i the lg just seems useless, and if i was you i would not buy this phone.My screem has cracked in two places and there is only 4 message tones to choose from and they are all terrable.

This phone should not be described as MP3 player. Conrad in Sweden is spot on with his comments, unless of course someone knows how to default the MP3 player to the external memory, giving access to the full controls. The MP3 is useless unless you can play all or shuffle all your stuff. It doesn't always come with a data cable either (Certainly not from Tesco), but try finding one. Suggestions from LG did not stock.

I got the LG shine about 2 mounths ago and i LOVE it. i love the look the style. the ONLY falut i can think of is you can't change the text alert. But hey its not the end of the world as i have my phone on vibrate most of the time. RECOMMENED FOR ANYONE!

This is the worst phone ever!!!!!!!!!!! After purchasing the phone the first problem I noticed was that the sound was way too low, and it vibrates too gently, the phone was in my pocket ringing and vibrating and could you believe, I didn't feel or hear a thing. Once, the phone fell when I was in a rush to leave home... biggggg mistake. It was never the same since. It kept on turning itself off, messing with the time, and it couldn't charge unless it was turned off. It is very sensitive to falling and lets just say if it falls once thats the end of it, let alone twice or thrice. I wouldn't recommend the purchase of this phone to anyone.

I've had this phone a year and has been trouble from month one onwards, the only thing thats stopped me getting a new phone is money, just recently replaced the phone and will be selling my LG shine, within a month of buying the phone, i started having problems, it started switching itself on and off intermittently, removing numbers from my phone book without me doing anything, and deleting received messages before i could read them and deleting my messages at random, i would not recommend this phone to anyone, in the first week it seems fine, but after that u soon realize this is a very problematic phone! DONT BUY IT IF YOU'RE READING THESE REVIEWS WITH INTENTION TO BUY, ITS A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY!!

this phone is for babies.it does not have radio.the scroll whatever is very poor and too annoying to use...try it with calculator,and you will cry.mp3 cannot access the external card.each time you play music ,you must adjust the volume as the volume is always zero level.the volume is not loud in anyway.no internal setting of the volume.the designers of this phone are too nzuzulistic in their ways of thinking.

Pretty from afar, far from good. Software crash - Had a software crash within the first month. Turned off and wouldn't turn back on. Returned it for repair - all the saved pics and addresses were lost in doing this. Reception - The reception on the phone is almost non-existant, my Blackberry will have full bars and the Shine has NONE! They're on the same carrier, so I know it's the hardware, not the carrier. External memory card confusing to locate/use. Camera - the ONLY good feature this poor phone has. Once the thing dies for good I'll go back to the good, old, reliable Samsung phones where I can actually make a phone call, or send a text message.

I'm having the same problem as Sean. The phone turns off randomly with out me knowing, and I try turning it back on but it wont until I take the sim and battery in and out a couple of times. It's really hard to see the screen outside in the sun. I have the pink one and the colour scratches off really easily and it looks horrible.The sound is very low,and If I leave on the music player the phone shuts off after a couple of songs. Overall the phone looks nice, and is easy to use but I wish I bought I differnt phone, and I really don't recommend it.

This phone is nice and cheap, but it shows. Camera is terrible, marks REALLY easily and you can't really see your reflection in the daytime. Also, the scrolly thing can become a pain, especially when texting - slows everything down. It's nice and sleek though, and it's not too expensive, so yeah.

I have had the Shine for a month, flawless operation, get compliments all the time, but it drives me nutz keeping the ear smudge's and finger prints off of it. I know its silver, looks great when its clean, case doesnt help. Nice weight & feel to it, the eraser nub mouse thing, seems to have lost its sensitivity, you have to push on it harder up/down to react, could just be me? I would recommend, but screen in sunlight is un-readable, ring tones could be louder.I had a LG flip before (Sprint), this has better phone coverage.

I have been using th LG Shine for 13 months now, in that period I have had the phone replaced three times. The Shine has a tendency to power off, this happens when its in your pocket and unknown to you the phone is off. On a number of occasions I had been waiting to receive business related calls on the mobile, only to be contacted when I arrived home. The phone had powered off. When I took it for repair the first time, I was told it was egress (water damage), the phone had never been exposed to sweat let alone water. I sent it back to the manufacturer and after a period of ten days they sent it back supposedly repaired. One week later the phone powered off. I sent it back again, and this time the phone was replaced with a new phone. Yet again this new phone is powering off. Is this a common fault? or is there anyone else experiencing this fault?

Having had it for a year now I would say it's build quality is largely impressive, and though it picks up scruffs and stuff the fact that all the buttons still work etc is far more important. But it frequently freezes when trying to text, usually at the moments when u have to send a text in 30 seconds, and you're hitting the keys frantically but nothings happening. Camera and all that is fine. Mirror is cool but makes screen unreadable whenever sun is out, which is obviously a major problem.

READ: Im Being Very Honest Here. Ive had this phone for a year in October. But im having to get a new phone as my contract is up. This Phone has been EXCELLENT. i have had NO problems what so ever. I do reccomend this phone. The camera is not great but it does the job! The camera has a flash which comes in very handy. There was only 3 things that i would have liked to have changed about this phone and they are not major.. *The music doesnt go very loud. *You cant have the music left on while doing other stuff like texting etc... *When you are looking through your photo gallery it takes a little too much time to switch from photo to photo. I bought a phone sock and 2gb memory card for this phone and since then ive loved it , its very good looking and a very good phone! I have about 2 scratches on the back but that is my fault because i put the phone in my pocket with money and the money scratched it but that doesnt bother me . its so handy how if you forget your mirror you can just quickly get your phone out . I was so happy with my buy of this phone . i went to america and the whole holiday i used my phone taking pictures , no problem with the battery. im always transferring pictures from the phone to the computer with the usb lead. i love this phone. If your considering buying this phone but bad reviews have put you off seriously dont listen. In the right hands its all you need . (:

I got the phone just the other day and so far it has worked fine nothing wrong at all. The scroll you just need to get used to and its really easy to use. I haven't got any scratches on it so far and that is saying a lot for someone like me. I think it is a good phone personally and i love it. And it looks great which is a bonus.

The worst phone ever! When I try to call out, it says "Call ended". Sometimes it won't receive other people's calls even if on their end, it's ringing! Texting also doesn't always go through and it has all these useless features that I don't need. You can't change the soft keys and the ring is so low, I can barely hear it! Do yourself a favor and don't get this phone, stick with Motorola or get something else!

HATE IT!! OK, I'll admit, I got this phone because it was cute (mirrror & all). I had a Blackberry Pearl prior to purchasing the Shine, and I think I got a little spoiled. I feel the Shine is way more difficult than it needs to be. No shortcuts. It just seems like it takes SO long to get anything done! Texting is a nightmare!! Also, my fingers hurt from the metal joystick. I don't mean to bash. It does have some good qualities.... a tip calculator for example...well, I tried to think positive. I just hope my old Pearl will have me back.

having previousy only having nokia phones i find this lg good to look at but the camera and supplied software to be substandard in comparison to my nokia n70 the camera switch is located on the side and it is recommended you hold camera horizontil to take pictures which is one of lg,s less inventive ideas

Dont buy this phone! I went back to using my sony erricson as beat up as it was it wins the lg shine hands down. I recently lent it to my friend to use as hers broke and it had shut down and refuses to turn back on with my battery, so used another and it turns on to a black screen! Cant get signal wen u need to send a msg back. Its useless! dont buy it!

Its the most rubbish fone ive ever had!! the nokia 3310's were better. the so called mp3 player on the fone is so quiet its not worth listening too! the screen scratches really easily and my fone has just stopped working and i havent even had it for a year! avoid this phone!

I Havee hadd The pink lg shinee for about a year noww,its bin amazing it takes brill pictures its easy to use my phone fell down the stairs number off tyms its not evn tht screatched! it mirrow is quite usefull for in lessons doin your make up or when your out & about wil your mates get them hold it 4 yh :P if yh lads your can keep shore yh hairs alright:P i addmitt thers some annoyinn bit about it but yh can live with them. the pink looks more fashionable &better thn the silver in my opinon,:)

Whats with all the illiterates on this review board? The phone is rubbish, poor battery life, bad signal, useless roller feature, cant see the screen in any sun light, ring tone to quite. The worst phone I have ever bought, so i gave it to my wife.

Only had the phone for two months i liked the phone but then only had it in my jeans pocket took it out and the lcd screen had broke. The outer screen is only flexable plastic and week, it had no impact at all i'd stay well away fron this phone because the shop won't want to know left with a piece of junk!!!!!!!

The battery dies afer one day. My phone keeps turning off randomly through out the day. a lot of my calls go staight to voice mail. The camera does not take clear pictures, and even if something is 3 feet away from you it looks like 10 even when it is zoomed in. You can not see the screen in the sunlight. It says "Call ended" when I try to call people sometimes, and will not connect. The internet alawys times out. The screen scratches so easily even though they said it was protected, and you get alot of finger prints on it. You have a hard time hearing people on it, and people have a hard time hearing you. Pretty much, It is a piece of junk, do not waste your money on it.

I bought this phone even after reading the numerous bad reviews it has got on here, and I don't regret it! It looks great, the screen is nice and big and the text is nice and sharp. Really easy to use, all self explanatory. Of course it's going to get a bit dirty- most mobiles do! And as for all the 'it scratches really easily' you just have to be careful with it as you would anything else! Really great phone and good value!

I've had this phone about a year. the screen DOES get scratched easily, and if you get it you have to accept it will almost definately get scratched slightly. The features are good, and the phone is very easy to use. Bad points; Battery life is poor and goes crazy when you listen to/match media; Memory is very bad without a memory card [mine was £6 or so and works wonders on the phone].It's a good music phone if you buy a memory card.

I got this phone in pink for my birthday last week, it looks lovley and i love the mirror effect! I havnt found any MAJOR problems, the roll navigator button thing is kinda hard to use, it always go's to the button above or bellow to the actual link i want to go on, but i guess ill be able to use that better with practice. One more thing is that when im texing the buttons done respond, especially the 'ghi' button, i click it 3 times to get the letter 'i' and it stays on 'g', im not sure if thats a problem with every phone, but its annoying with mine. Appart from them 2 little problems i LOVE this phone! Everything is pink and love the color pink. The camera is also great and all the other features on the phone i love!!

This phone was really good. It holds alot of messages, but the games are very bad.. Its slightly harder to text with, but after a few days you should get used to it. The screen gets a little fuzzy form the fingerprints, but it comes with a hpone charm which can be used to clead the screen every now and then. The ammount of battery in the display is very vague.. Good phone though. Mine broke after 6 months...

Ive had this phone 3 months, its been back to the shop 5 times, sent off for repair and came back with even more problems. My bluetooth has weeks where it wont work at all. The side buttons stuck on mine so they had to be repaired, my internet is appauling on this phone and never connects, i cant use msn on it at all, and the signal is terrible when im inside. Dont buy this fone! unles your willing to go without a phone for about 2 months and keep taking it back! its the most hassle ive ever had with a mobile phone!. Its terrible!

I brought my Pink LG phone and received it about three weeks ago after being really pleased with the quality of the phone and how well the pic show up on it, I downloaded all my info onto it, then about 4 DAYS after I received the phone the screen frozen then when the phone turned itself off it wouldnt turn back on again. I called the company who I brought the phone off and had to pay over £8 to send it back. Then sent me a new phone which I received Monday and again everything was working well, then last night the battery started to go low while I was out, and the screen went really faint, so I then charged the phone when I got home and left it in charge all night to make sure the battery was full, when I come to turn the phone on again the screen is still really faint and I can not see anything on it?? This is s frastrating and means I have to pay another £8 or so to send the phone back!!

The LG Shine sucks you never get service anywhere I had to walk outside to my shed to send a frickin text message this phone is a piece of poo. It scratches really easily so now I have to get a new phone skin for it to cover the million scratches and I only dropped it twice. And If you have more than like 70 pictures it takes like 2 minutes to get the picture page to pull up never ever get this phone it may look cool but it sux!

To be honest, No way listen to the reviews what say don't listen to the bad reviews. I loved this phone when I first got it the memory didn't matter I got four songs on it. I loved the camera took amazing pictures. One day I was about to check my texts and guess what bwam it didn't turn on at all. It has not worked since so I warn you it just breaks with no warning. Also the phone scratches easy I wish I didn't splash out buying this phone it was my first time trying an LG Phone the mirror was good though loved it. But it did cost alot when I got it.. my advice don't buy it at all RIP OFF.

I found the phone quite hard to navigate even while reading the handbook and the phone kept switching itself off. In the end, the screen has broken so I have got a new phone, got an LG phone!

i have had it for since april 08, very good phone but it has its problems 1= can`t her incoming call some times 2= when you switch the phone off you can`t turn it back on until you take out the battery. Other wise it is a vgood phone i am thinking of getting the same phone again as it is only £70 i paid £200 pay as you go.

Worst phone ever, had this phone 3 months now. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! In three months i have had three LG SHINE Phones. The first froze and switched off. The second froze and switched off and wouldnt turn back on. The third the speakers have gone and the receiver is faulty. What good is a phone you cant use - looks nice but doesnt work as a phone or anything else.

In general it's a good all sound phone, but what i have the most is when you put a 2gig memory card in. It doesn't detect it. Not only that you cannot format it either. You have to use a card reader on a pc, but not everyone has a pc, so what i'd like to know is how can you format something the phone doesn't pick up

i lovee this phone! i've had it for about a month and a half and haven't had any manufactural probs. but i have had someone steal it then return it to the ofice of my school and yesterday my brothers friend threw a water balloon at my phone on the table and now the clear button and the 2 button don't work right and the screen is water logged aside from that it still works fine. If ur complaining about the fingerprints when u slide the phone...how about trying to slide it from the side of the screen not the middle then u won't get finger prints on it.

I bought the LG Shine for my daughter back in April 2008 two months later the phone will not charge at all so we took it back to the Orange Shop they had a company Regenersis look at it and they decided that we had drop/crush/physical damaged the phone ourselves. As the phone is intact I cant see this so we called LG ourselves and they came back with the same thing as they use Regenersis. So I wrote to LG with my concerns that the phone is not working after 2 months and they came back with sorry you broke it we wont repair this. I wish I had read the reviews of this phone because I wouldn't of bought it. But now I am writing to LG again with the comments people of put so see what happens.

i only just got one today and its a pink obviously! i love the look of the phone and the exterior really lives up to its name but i cant really say the same for the interior =[ the menu and evrything is really nice but the fact that there isnt a tone settings on the fone realy puts me off the phone my memory card dosnt seem to like the phone and im having a great deal of trouble finding my music on my mmory card and putting it on the mp3 it also turns its self off when u ask it to go on to some things its a great shame as the phone looks stunnig and u would never think that it couldnt perform to its standards xx

Ive had this phone from over a year now and I must say I was so happy when I first had it. it looks sophisticated, brilliant. but ma problem with this is that it's a bit slow and becase it is so shiny, cant see the screen clearly when it is bright. i dont like the mp3 player that much and i had issues with not allowing mp3 files to be a ringtone or message tone. but altogther, this is quite a nice phone to have.

I have had this phone now for just over a year. After 6 months, it refused to turn on. Went back to supplier who told me it would have to go away...or, I could take the back off, remove battery, blow on it, replace it and - hey presto this works. This, however is unsatisfactory. Talk time not good, it's heavy, scratches easily and impossible to see screen in sunlight. Reading reviews of other comparable phones, I decided to stick with this for the time being. Will not have LG again though.

I have had one for 18 months now anc it's completely schizophrenic. Looks great, nice features, but mine shuts down on a regular basis. I have to take the battery out twice and replace it to get it going again if it does this. it also takes itself off the network when it' ready. You go to make a call, and get an error message "network detatched" then it's battery out time again. It's a nice phone, but as you say,has issues.

this phone is very pretty i have the pink one which is very girly but i find its not half and good as i thought it would be. the battery is alright it lasts around a day and a half which is etter than some fones i hav had but the speaker is quiet, the text alert volume seems to change itself constantly! there are very poor text alerts and the memory is rubbish, mine can hol around 300 msgs but not much music and pics. had it at xmas and about a month ago the memory totally went it can hold messages but cant even hold one song or picture without external memory, iv given up on it to be honest and am getting a new phone very soon and it wont be an LG im really not impressed. its pretty but its not very good. id only really reccommend it to a child who only really wants it for the mobile phone use not camera or music

The LG Shine.. i've had it since christmas.. well the only things that are annoying is that you cant change the txt alert on it, you have to keep cleaning the screen, and the back case gets scratched realy easily. but nothing to make me hate the phone. i find it to be a realy nice phone oveerall, the screen when it turns into a mirror has amazed my friends quite abit, and is pretty handy when you forget your mirror.. some people are complaining about the battery life on this phone ?? i txt quite alot, take loads of pictures, and ring people alot.. and still get a whole day use out of one charge.. not being able to see the screen in sunlight?? most phones are like that anyway.. and this is no different... and if you block the light with your hand you can see the screen anyway. the phone looks good aswell.. nice design.. and i love the scroll bar instead of using the manual up down left right buttons.. oh, and my headfones broke within the first 4 months.. but i think that was my fault reali nice phone. i would recomend it to anyone

Okay, I tested this LG KE790 shine and it is more than a phone, it also has a mirror! This phone scratches and falls apart really easily and the silde, LG are known for making good phones, but this one isnt one of them. Very poor on the keypad and the scroll can be a nightmere. I tested it and when I sided it up, the slide went to far up and and it fell on the floor, so I had to fix it, not a reliable battery either, but it's cute and sadly for £170, that isnt enough! Please, keep looking for another phone!

all i can say is the at&t music player for mp3s on this phone is garbage. i got it to update the songs after about two hours of trying different redundant things and when i thought i figured it out and tried to add more songs, it wouldnt update again, and i dont know if anyone else has had this problem but its supposed to play 3gp videos but and thats the format it records in but i tried watching a 3gp video off the sd card and it told me the format wasnt supported...? i would not reccomend this or any lg phone to anyone

i like this phone b there is two problems i hav with it 1st one is that if your in the sunlight you will not be able to see the screen and secondly i jstrecently master reset my phone and the sending since then has takenges it takes bout 20 minuets to get a 3mb song sent to the phone if eyone can help me about thsecond problem plz reply zak_sufc@msn.com

just checking on this site for reviews for a new phone I want to buy, as my LG Shine stoppped working last night! after 6 months of buying it, for 170 quid. the screen keeps messing up, it turns off and doesnt turn back on again, and now the screen has just gone grey permanently so I can't see anything! poor phone

I think this phone is fanstastic its amazing it has a perfect to mega pixel camera which is fantastic , mp3 player is great just about everything. On the other hand it has bad battery but mine is mostly ok , Bad memory , and the screen has cracked slightly on mine but the crack is smaller than a pea a lot smaller. Over all this phone is sick amzing mirror screen hard to see in light but perfect for girls who want to check on there make up and that its amazing.

Don't get this mobile!! I have it and unless you want the basic non functioning phone then this is the one. The MP3 player is horrible. It always starts on silent so u don't get to hear the start of the song and also the speaker is bad quality. It also does not have much memory for your texts meaning every day i have to delete my texts even if they are important. This is a fashion phone and too basic for my liking.

i got this phone because i liked how it looked, its very sleak & stylish but the functions are way too basic. & it keeps having problems, so far it keeps shutting off by itself. even though i just sent a text within 3 seconds it shuts off & the battery is fully charged! ! grrrs.

i got this phone on contact with virgin back in march!.... and tomorrow it goes back and it will be replaced with the samsung j700, the reason im having to return it is that it freezes alot so i have to take battery out and start again and the volume is very low so i was getting alot of missed calls!...my advice to anyone thinking of getting one is...DONT! scratches very easily also- the sound quality is very tinny too!...just hope the new one that arrives tomorrow is better (samsung j700)

I bought the Shine in November, and by December it bugged me. In January I disliked it, in February it drove me mad, in March I had given up and now I have a new LG Viewty arriving tomorrow. This thing has never heard of reception (sit it next to my old MDA also on T-Mobile and it struggles with 1 bar whilst the MDA on the same network has 3), it turns itself off when it feels like it, the sounds are rubbish, you can't see the screen in the sun, it scratches easily in your pocket, the camera is pants and worst of all - sending text messages takes way too many clicks. Also, on the longer texts it starts to get confused and slows down to the extent of adding in CAPITAL letters or letters that you didn't even type! For example "I" often displays as "Gggh". If you like to customise your sounds, forget it. If you like to have a normal view of the numbers you are dialing forget it - this phone has 3 settings for the display of the number you are typing in - and they're al l huge ugly multi-coloured things. Yuck. Money wasted, I look forward to the Viewty!

I think the phone is ok, nothing special but these days unless you spend a stupid amount of money, don't expect anything great! It does look good and with a memory card it stores lot. Around 400 texts, 200 songs and many pictures. Sound is crap but with headphones in, e.g. listening to mp3's, its not bad. Camera is good enough though very slow to actually take the pic. I think the roller thing in the middle is good, I personally like it. Its different. Overall I think LG phones aren't brilliant, they have a lot of work to do! I've also had issues with the signal and recieving things. I get usually full signal here and I recieved messages sent 2 days earlier, and my phone hadn't been turned off. BUY A SAMSUNG- much more reliable

I very much agree with the above description of the lg shine. To look at the phone is very attractive but not easy to keep. I miss so many calls as I cant hear the phone, no matter what my ring tone may be. At the moment my lg has just shut down and will not charge so i am waiting on a replacement. It wouldn't be my no1 choice in the future.

well being a man I knew from the beginning takeing on such a peice of technological beuty would be a dawnting task. However I found getting used to the phone and it's setting reasonably easy. As time passed, I began to get bored of the same-old-same-old phone, nothing seemed exciting anymore. The LG Shine certainly is a clever little thing as it connects to my NISSAN CUBE providing the handy option of having Hands free or hand held settings. The LG Shine did, however manage to find me a wife, I am now happilly married to my Wife Doreen, my two beutiful boys Brodeen and Gregory, and my princess little girl Julliet!

I've had the Shine for three months now and I got used to it. At first I was excited, as it promised a lot, but had to learn not to expect much from it. The nice mirror display scratches rather easily, so the good looks slowly fade :) The camera: quite slow, although fair quality, the flash is difficult to turn on and only works on photo, while the zoom only works on video. Resolution is very small in video recording. You can't zoom in on the pictures sadly. The media player: don't ever compare this to an ipod again!!! It's annoying as you have to load all your files into a single directory to be able to access them through the dedicated mp3 button. When playing music through the phone menu, you can see all directories but need to advance manually to the next song every time. The calendar: looks nice but fails to deploy the alarm sometimes (I can't understand why) Bluetooth: you cannot browse the files on a connected phone, so you can only send and accept files. Messaging & typing: this is what I dislike the most. Completely unintuitive, when creating new contacts, the last name is not capitalised by default and it takes ages (15 sec!) for a contact to be saved. I love T9 on nokia but here I had to disable it. The document viewer fails to load 90% of the docs I try, and I could only view the first page on a pdf. What I like about it: the looks and how it feels in the hand. Java works well, email too, mass storage through usb.

ok... to be honest, the shine is not the best phone ever, but those people who gave it HARSH reviews are seriously exaggerating its faults. It has a good camera for a phone, and to be frank if you want a better camera, buy an actual camera. It has a good feel, in the hand, and it looks good too. Those who say the scroller is a waste, think again, because the whole design is supposed to be minimalistic, and stylish, so why would there be two buttons that could be replaced by one scroller? And if you dont want the screen to get scratched, just buy a plastic sheet that is made for the phone screen, they cost about one pound, and solves the problem. This is a great phone, with few problems, and i have been very happy with it for the past 10 months!!!

this is a very nice phone to look at, but it comes with many faults and is not a good phone if you want to use it alot! I got this phone a couple of weeks ago, and i didnt have a problem with it, and now i have just started noticing how easily is scratches, how the battery never lasts long, and doesnt have much memory! I am so dissapointed in this phone, and im on a contract so i cannot change it. It has also previously started turning off at random times, even though it has full battery. It is very annoying, as when i pick up a call it sometimes just turns off, and when i text it turns off, and many other random times. I really hate this phone, and would not recommend it to anyone else.

i just bought this phone today for £80 and i must say it looks really nice and shiny, i dont wanna touch it and get my fingerprints on it! I would advise to buy a sock or pouch for this phone, coz it gets fingerprints on the screen and it scratches really easily. But to be honest when i read these reviews, most of them are all OPINIONS. I read these before buying the phone, and i would advise people to go out, buy it and SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE FOR YOURSELF. Listening t other people that you don't know talking about how "bad the phone is" doesn't really help. :)

Buy this phone if you want one that hardly has reception. That turns off and refuses to turn on again and with a scroll that only scrolls in one direction so you have to scroll through all your texts to get to the one you want to read. Absolutly the worst phone ever made.

Had this phone for a week, and was already considering switching 1/2 way into its use. Reception is horrible where I am. I've had 3 phones over teh last 3 years, and never had reception problems at school. All of a sudden, a lot of the times at school, I get "emergency calls only" where no one else really has problems with reception. Looks great, but easy to lose your entire text if you hit the wrong button. I'd agree with one of the reviews - even at maximum volume, sometimes I strain to hear the phone ring.

Great in every way except 2. 1)The ringtone is VERY quite. On maximum volume, I still had trouble hearing it in my pocket in anything but absolute silence. 2)The nub navigation joystick is a little tough to use. Reception is fairly decent, however, if you lose reception, like I do when I am in a basement lab, it take a while to recatch the signal after you get back to where there is reception.

I have had this phone for 15 months, changing tomorrow :) The phone switches itself off, DO NOT BUY if you like to personalise your phone, you only get 4 choices of text alerts and many tunes you save to use as a ringtone, it will not let you do this, you can play them but not set as a rintone, rubbish phone, yo have been warned

My LG Shine is less than one year old. After 9 months use it started playing up. It will not turn on unless I remove the battery and sim car, blow on them and replace them (advice given me by phones4u). Now, it refuses to turn on at all, in spite of the aforementioned proceedure. I shall never again choose an LG (any model). My supplier refused to replace and told me it would have to be returned to LG, leaving me without a phone for goodness know how long. They will not let me have a replacement until my contract is l year. As I said, never again.

Okay,...i got the Pink Lg Shine last November..had to get it replaced 3 times in the first two months!! its completly useless!!! Turns itself off all the time. its so quiet. it wont let me text anymore. Buttons keep freezing..it does my head in. although..it does look soo nice!! Gunna try the Purple Lg Viewty i think? x

i've had the phone for a year, i've found it very reliable. The only problems i've found is that whe taking it into the sun you cannot see the screen all that well, the battery only seems to last me around 2 days and i feel you cannot store enough photos at one time. But other than that i think it's a pretty good phone, i'd recommend it.

The phone isnt to bad itself but it lacks the feaures that are normally taken for granted with a phone. The alarm clock is the most annoying thing as you cannot choose your own song to play as the alarm and you can only set one time on it where-as normally you can set a few alarms. The screen also picks up fingerprints really easily, however i have not had any problems with the mp3, message storage, computer syncing. Overall its a pretty decent phone.

Have had this phone for almost 18 months and cant wait to get rid of it. Am on my 2nd Shine and this one has packed up too. The 1st one wouldnt turn on when I tried to charge it. Now have had this one for 3 months and now it doesnt ring... and I cannot hear anyone who rings but they can hear me... cant wait for my contract to run out and get a new phone...

For my sins i have struggled with this phone for nealy a year and it is seriously terrible! I cannot receive pic mess or get compatibility with my pc.The mirror suface is scratched and cannot be seen in sunlight. The signal is poor and the only thing i can say is i deserve a medal for putting up with it for sooooo long!!!

I got this phone a month or so ago and so far I'm very pleased with it. I've dropped it more than once on some occaisions and am yet to see any scratches. I find it easy to use, stylish and useful. The one downside is that the roller button is a little fiddley, but it's easy to get used to. Overall a great investment.

i had this phone, it was really good looking but too many probs with it, the sliders a bit rubbish, you cant see the screen v well in sunlight its quiet and the screen is covered by a flimsy plastic sheet that squashes easily, to the extend of me smashing the screen so it doesnt work anymore! poor build quality and i wudnt buy an lg again (it only last me a couple of months! also the cancel key is too close and easy to press to the 3 key (ie d e f when ur texting) and i kept cancelling texts halfway through becuase of this! cameras good tho. and it looks the tits.

I absolutely love this phone, i got it a month ago and am still buzzin about it! It looks good (it looks damn good!), easy to use, personally i love the scroller and if you click of a message your writing by mistake its still there when you go back to 'new message.' Very helpful for the likes of anyone as clumsy as me! Mine holds tonnes of messages in both inbox and outbox, but the phone isnt very loud and doesnt keep on reminding you when you've got a text (could be s good or bad thing!) Doesnt hold loads of MP3's but to be honest, i dont use my phone as an MP3 player so i dont have much use for that facility anyway. All in all, great phone, really recommended it.

Few things to say about this phone. You can't see the screen in daylight! You send texts to the wrong people because of the roller ball! You can't change the message tone! Otherwise the phone would have been the best i have had!

i love my lg shine i have had it snce easter its my little companion i take it everywhere touch wood it dosnt freze it has brilliant picture quility and i have all my music and my mates are dead impressed and its great. BUT BE WARNED THE SCREEN IS VERY PRONE TO GETTING DIRTY AND YOU CANT SEE IT VERY WELL IN VERY BRIGHT DAYLIGHT BUT DONT ALL PHONES !!! apart from that its a great phone i think you should go for it if you want to buy it xx hope that helps

Had it for 14 months now had to have it repaired after 11 months because the keys no longer worked and it kept switching itself off. Apparently a battery failure and now its fine. Pretty useless features to be honest and the flash on the camera is not automatic, to be honest the whole phone is useless and finally if the phone is pressed against something you wont hear it ring. But it does look quite nice just dont expect to see whos calling you on a sunny day.

omg this site doesnt allow swearing. ==" this phone is srsly very **** . i went to the phone shop to ask about it and the lady there was like DONT BUY IT ! like srsly!! she was the seller person and she was telling me not to buy it! she said her manager and many people had told her it breaks really easily, the functions and keys start to not work after a while, you can't see the screen in the sunlight, using it as a mirror isnt very clear either, the scroll button is annoying to use, minimum memory. so basically. DONT BUY IT !!! probably only good thing would be the games but i guess tht depends on where and who u get it from

Ok in a lot of ways - bad in others- Impossible to see the screen in sunlight but great indoors. If you download a ringtone, you can't set it as a text alert! Camera is good. had it 2 months and no battery problems. Pictures are outstanding but the flash isn't a flash! It stays on all the time and drains the battery. assume its for the video recorder. Otherwise a nice phone

i got this phone a week ago, not many problems majorly, but little things that have annoyed me, i got the pink one whereas my friends got the silver one, with mine, you can't play music through mp3 if it is stored on external memory, you also can't slide it down when playing music through "my stuff" but my friend can. battery life - i charge it every night all night, if you do this it never fails, backgrounds don't always go full screen, and the alarm tones are pretty stupid as there is a ring tone called "good morning" perfect for an alarm! but it's not available! ha! the two buttons on the sides of the wheel hurt too. but that's all i have to moan about (: except the cameraa oops nearly forgot.. zoom, ha what zoom?! it zooms in a teeny bit and you don't know if it's zoomed in or out! i also dislike the fact that when you take a pic it loks so clear, yet when you want to look back on the the quality's like .. PIXELATED! i love everything about my phone except that! just not happy with my network. naming ni names but it's kind of obvious as it is the only network that offers a PINK LG Shine.

Hate this phone very frustrating. Looks great, nice screen size, but gets fingerprint instantly. Very poor user controls. Roll bar is a waste of space. The instructions aren't worth the paper their written on. Blue tooth does not connect to anything. I have a fitted car blue tooth, it will pair but then wont connect same with laptop. Files sent to other mobiles can't be opened when received. Don,t waste your time or money I had it for less than a day, wanted to throw it out of the window - sent it back. Will never rick LG again.

The worst phone i have ever had. Battery life is appauling and its broken after 3 months. Complete waste of money. You cant see the screen in sunlight, it takes a good couple of years for anything to upload. The buttons are faulty. finger prints on it always

iam amazed with the phone in general the camera and video work perfect very atractive and also has many useful feature i recomend to any kind of buyer but the keyboard is not the best but still a outstanding phone a 12 out of 10

Worst mobile out!! The music player is AWFUL, you can't continually play songs meaning you have to play one song then change to another as it will automatically stop. The battery life is bad i have to charge it up nearly every day. You will need a memory card if you choose this phone as the memory just on the phone is bad. The only good things are the pretty numbers you get when you dial a number and the camera quality. ONE MAJOR BAD THING IS THE AMOUNT OF TXTS U CAN SAVE!! U CAN ONLY HAVE ABOUT 160 TXTS IN YOUR INBOX!!

I have this phone maybe for a 2 months.in general the phone is not so bad.it looks nice,but I think that the bad side is that you can not set your own tone for a message,the pictures opening is very slow and also the phone is too quiete.you can't listen the melody if there is a little noise.also I wanna ask if somebody knows how can i set a call barring only for one number.thanks

I had this phone for nearly a year, yes it is a bit of a pain when using in sunlight as there is a lot of glare. Another problem I had (I dont knoe if this was just me!!) was that sometimes the screen would got blank, usually when the phone was cold, I found if I warmed it up with a hairdrier it worked fine. I really likd the phone, I have no scratches on the screen of mine even though I kept it in my handbag 98% of the time with my keys etc!! The battery was about average. I reda on here that you can only have 20 msgs before the inbox is full - on mine its more like 200, not sure the exact amount. Ive got a couple of songs on it but I wasnt really using it for music as the memory isnt very big. All in all a good phone, I really liked it, Im only getting rid of it because its upgrade time and Im getting an LG Viewty!!

I've had my Shine for exactly 3 weeks, and already has very tiny scratches on the back. I love the phone, but it has to be handled with much care, as the stainless steel so easily scratches...Since I now know this, I'll be getting a new one this afternoon. The other problems I have with the phone are minor: I can't talk while the slider is closed (without the headset), and I can't change my alarm to a song from the external memory (the default sounds are cheesy). People have said that the joystick-type navigation button is difficult; my Shine has the alternative scrollbar which gives me no problems - it's just a bit slow when moving through all the songs on the mp3 player. I'd definitely recommend this phone to anyone. The camera quality is beyond decent, and it's simply a beautiful phone (I get lots of comments and questions when I'm out)...and I no longer have to travel with a mirror. :)

absolutly love the phone, my only complaint is that is incredably shiney and hard to see in direct sun light. but having it turn into a mirror is amazing b/c i can put it next to my eyes and use it to look around corners. you want my honest view without using language that requires stars? worst phone ever. craftsmanship is rubbis, whoever thought of the idea is a plonker and should be sacked on the spot. the camera is of a VGA quality. the speakers are non-existent and it gets scratched up easily. Whenever im in the sun, it blinds me temporarily. now i see why it is called the shine. ive returned it asap and i suggest anyone who has it does the same. it may sell widely but thats because you cant return it. these people are scum. anyone who is fooled by ths scroll is dumb. tip. dont get a memory card otherwise your phone will crash repeatedly. can you believe that it took 30 seconds to get to the main menu. trash. abosolute trash. im trading it in for the greates phone ever. the d900. it may be old but it has the techno of a new phone. the camera is sick and it looks stylish too.

The phone is constantly switching itself off. It's no use that it is beautiful, nice phone when it doesn't work half the time. You might like the alarm, but what good is an alarm that switches itself off in the middle of the night causing you to be late for work? This is my first LG phone and it is going straight into garbage can. It is also going to be the last LG device I will ever own.

I have had this phone for 4 months now, its okay... a little quite on the volume side.. but mine already has broken :S as suddenly it has no reception and will not aloow any in or out coming calls/texts ect.. its ok like i said scratches a little too easily for me.. accessories quite expensive i mean £20 for a case :O! but thats probably changed by now.. 6/10

good phone... but i have a few problems with the mp3 player, for instance when i listen to a non mp3 track the phone turns off when the song is finished. I was disapointed with the camera and the zoom. i love the shinnyness of the phone but find the screen anoying and uneasy to clean. the scrol bar is cool and had the phone for a year and had no problems. another issue i face is the whole fact that this phone is not loud and even the virbrations are **** but other than that its a cool phone and one to show of as a fashion item!

when i first got the LG shine thought best phone i ever had 6 months later its all scrathed the mic has gone therfore no one can hear th keys stick when you text to quiet mite as well have just got a compact for all its worth !!!!!

i like the phone even though i have had problems with it. Prone to scratches, the back of mine was ruined within days so i have now covered it in swarovski crystals..solved that problem. bad that u cant change text alert to a tone or something, the 5 choices are all rubbish and never hear them. when battery goes dead need to charge for a while b4 it will turn on. syncs to pc ok and my mp3's all save to memory card fine. annoying that the save on videos alwasy defaults to 10 secs and phone memory so u have to change it every time tho. every few week i will have totally no signal and have to search for network before it finds it again. screen is always needing a clean and the sound is not very loud. however had a prada before and this phone is better than that. all in all there are more good things than bad, the bad i can live with. not found my perfect phone yet!

i hate this phone i had 2 spend 4o pounds for a memory card the head phones broke in 1 ear the phone sure shines in the sun as you cant even see the screen the mp3 player is well rubbish its quiet and you cant choose text allerts the scroler bar is extreemly annoying and the little stupid buttens at ever side my phone has TWICE deleted all my texts, phone numbers, phots, music, and videos, wich i must say is very poor quality. the battery is rubbish it lasts for 1 hour when im on the phone wich is rubbish as i spend lots of time on the phone as im on contract. the phone is extreemly hevy today i went back to using my samsung d600 and its louder and lighter. you cant synk the files with the computer wich realy annoyes me all these little things make me hate this phone i wouldnt even give it the 1 star rating but its the lowest you can put

Well i've had this phone a year. And i've had no major problems with it! Had some minors though.. when i plugged it into either the USB port on my laptop or the mains charger it decided to turn itself off.. it has stopped now. Been on o2 12 month leisure contract and this phone has done me well. Loved the camera. The memory wasn't the best but with a memory card then pfft who cares. The phone looks good but is quite heavy. Easily fitted into my pocket. Easily scratched if dropped or anything. Overall - good phone.

Very nice looking phone, but RECEPTION SUCKS!!!!! I hate it! The phones you get out of the cereal box for free have better reception than the LG Shine. I have had this phone for quite a few months. The phone is difficult to turn back on (you have to remove and replace batt maybe once or twice)The ring volume is very low and the roller bar is extremely annoying, I have replied to the wrong text etc, very sensitive and the calculator is tricky to use as it mainly involves the roller. If the phone is on silent then the alarm doesn't sound which is very annoying if you have inconsiderate people who call at stupid o'clock but you still need to get up in the morning. The rest of the phone is good! lol, very easy to use and I would buy an updated version if the roller bar was removed, ring volume increased and the alarm worked even when on silent.

i've had my shine for over a year now. in the last six months its become the bane of my life. the battery last as long as the ten o'clock news,and has a mind of its own, one minute it will have full chareg and the next it will flas 'Battery Low!' at me!!! But worst of all is how it constantly turns itself off mid-conversation, and takes a lifetime to reboot to the point where u can access your contacts and return the call. It is of course possible that this is simply that my individual handset is flawed but friends of mine with the same model have experienced similar issues. when it does work, its ok but nothing special. I suppose the choice is basically style or function. And with regards to cell phones, for me, function wins everytime. I would not recommend this phone to anyone who wants one that actually works!!! the sooner i am rid of it, the happier i will be!!!

I got this phone a couple of days ago and its really easy to work. The MP3 player is good quality and you can put and you can attatch any headphones you want to it. The camera is good but is a little grainy if not taken in good light. I find it quite easy to connect to the PC. You just plug in the USB and it appears. If you want to change text alerts you go into profiles>general (or whatever profile you want to change the text alerts in)>personalise>message tones> and then whatever alert you want. I think the rolor is quite stylish and is handy to navigator. The screen does smudge easily but i have a screen cleaner and it works really well. Hope this helps

I got this phone as a gift and I have to say I love it. I have had no problems with it what so ever. No battery problems, and you can change the volume and settings from the calls, txts to the noise it makes when you turn it on/off. It's worked fine when I have been outside. If you have problems with changing text alerts maybe you should read the manual?! I do think it should come with a memory card, but that's about it. Other than that it's great!!!

i got this phone from my husband as an anniversary gift, i have the red one, i do love the ohone it looks good and the features are awesome, but there are some bad points, first of all the ringer isnt loud at all, i keep mine on vib/ring, 2nd it is hard to keep smudges off and i feel like im always wiping it off, but of course thats to be expected with the mirrored finish, i like the heft of the phone, the joystick takes some getting used to, and when i got the phone i took my old sim card out and im not sure but i think the phone fried my sim card a trip to the at&t store solved this, they replaced my old sim card, initially i did have problems with the micro card but after changing the storage settings this too worked out i only give a 4 because i think the ringer volume should be louder other than that its a definate keeper

Overall I like the phone. the roller thing can be a pain. The ringer volume is too low. My phone intermitantly turns itself off. I can always turn it back on but there's never an explanation as to why it turns off. (up to 6 times a day) I've had the phone for less than a month. I'm taking it back to the store this weekend to find out what's wrong with it.

I have had this phone for about a month now and i have to say its not that good the screen gets scratched very easily the scroll button does'nt always work the volume is not that loud also after using the mp3 for a while the battery needs charging and you really do need a memory card if you want it to hold songs without the memory card it only holds up to 4 songs! but the one good thing about the phone is that the picture quality is good and clear the design is sleek and stylish but overall this phone isnt that good sure it looks good but usability and durability isnt good!

firstly back to the reviewer elaine, you can change the text alerts. go to profile in the main menu and select from there! this is a good phone. beautifully made and the mirror screen works really well! however... - the battery is rubbish will last you a day if you are texting and calling people (if you use the camera once you are left with half the battery) -the buttons are stiff and hard to use -gets covered in finger prints really easily -bad reception (even in the house) -if you slide it down too hard it switches off and is impossible to swtich on again! -the photos (although good quality) take 5 seconds to take.. and before you say anything no you cant change the setting! i would definitely think twice about getting this phone.

i have the LG SHINE PINK i love LG phones i had the chocolate aswell and this one is much better yer u may have to but a memory card for it but they aint that dear so if your payin £30-£40 pound for one your shoppin in the wrong place really i got a 2G for £15 pound and yer it does attract alot of attention when you get it out in the street and makes you feel a bit uneasy when that one person keeps staring iv never had a problem with mine at all its sleek looks good and has a mirror perfect for a night if u have no room for a mirror just use your fone lol

I've decided to never buy LG products when I've had silly problems with their LCD monitor after 2 month sthey've found out it is the buggy firmware which cannot be updated). I've decided for Shine as I really like how it looks. And it just confirmed my opinion about LG and their lousy firmwares. Just problems! And, "officialy" quality lens, but too much JPEG compression and poor photos. Avoid that phone, people!

i have just purchased the lg shine in pink!! (from orange) I think this phone is amazing! I love the mirror and i don't find the scroller button annoying, the screen is impossible to see in sunlight but that is not a huge issue! The screen does get covered in finger prints! Im not sure what people expect from this phone but I have had mine for a long while (nearly a year) switched after I had 3 nokias that broke on me and am due an upgrade soon so was checking out new phones. I have NEVER had a problem with any of the functions sync with PC is brill and easy to use, texting takes a few days to master but thats normal as keys on diff models are in different places! Am def looking to upgrade to another LG phone.. I have dropped mine a lot of times and although it tend to explode quite well it just keeps on working, never switched itself off or any of the below. Def reccomend to anyone..

I've had mine for over a year now, and still love it. I can upgrade, but there is nothing i've seen that is worth doing so yet! It's sleek and solid. I love blue lights and also the way the dark glass lights up making the phone still look modern and "classy" I have had problems recently sometimes turning it on when low on battery, so have to plug it in to charge to boost it. - But then I have dropped it a few times! Also with O2 i can't seem to download pictures etc so have to get my mates to blue tooth them. But that's all. Not often you get a phone this cool! I think they should bring out a thinner one (although it's still smaller than most) like Moto did with the Razr and also supply a carry pouch like with the chocolate to address any future issues.

Personaly, i thought this phone when i first got it was really impressive and cool. Now iv had the phone for 2 weeks and, well its ok... i find the phone has not got much memory and i hate the theme, which i carnt seem to change which is annoying. Although i do have to say the phone looks and feels brilliant, many people have commented on it. My lg shine is on contract and i do think when i get a new phone at the end of the 18 months i wont be going with lg, im sorry to say. If you are wanting to buy this phone i would make sure you only want it for the look of it, not if you want it to have lots of songs or nice themes becuase you have to stick with black and blue, but i do have to say it holds alot of pictures. So far i have been loving everything about the phone, i was especcially happy when i realised you could get myspace facebook etc on there, i have also found the problems you mentioned, with the screen and steel getting fingerprints and how low the volume is, and it has already crashed on me :S little worrying,im not loving the scroll either it hurts your thumb after a while :S i havent been outside yet and slightly annoyed about the whole external memory, but that can be sorted, all in all im happy but im not sure how long this will last!

you can change the text alerts, though it took me AGES to work out how. You go to Profiles, general or outdoor or something that makes a noise, choose Personalise, then go to message alert type. There you go!!

i got this phone for xmas and i love it it lokks and feels great in ur hand and when every1 sees it they go WOW the camere]a is grest ands its really easy 2 put files onto the pc or from the pc onto the phone it has quite a good memory but i am considering a memory card. the sound quality is good BUT its not 2 loud and u cant set songs as ur message tone, there is a list of about 4 that u have 2 choose from the worst thing is that the battery isnt 2 good but this fone is still amazing all mty family and friends want it and i recomend it 100% ps happy new yeaar:P

the lg shine is amazing i have one myself - i've had it since march and its worn really well, people are still buying it! Mostly all my friends love playing with it and getting on theirselves! If you want to change the text alerts, go onto main menu, then profiles, then outdoor, then personalise, then message tones - it has four tones to choose from. this phone is amazing so buy it! this phone is really good looking, i badly wanted to have one...finally got it but i had a great desappointment!! it wouldnt load any of my ringtones and the sound could bearly be heard!!! i returned it in 2 days, got a new one....and surprise!...had the same problem AGAIN!!! its really hard to trust lg phones from now on, as it was my first experience...DO NOT buy one!

Well I was sucked in by the bling, and to give its due, looks/feels great, and still love it after 6 months despite its MANY faults. Currently awaiting 3rd replacement as CPW won't allow me to change model. All phones have had the common faultslisted elsewhere: 1. Turns off when it feels like it (blank screen so you don't know until you next try to use it!) 2. Won't turn back on unless you remove battery first. 3. Reception has to be the worst I have ever witnessed. My old Nokia 8310 comes out of the drawer to the rescue, and has full signal anywhere the LG has "Limited Service". 4. Useless battery life - better without bluetooth - but 2 days is all you can hope for. (My old 8310 still gives a week and it's 6 years old!) 5. Slide quality varies. 6. Small keys and big fingers lead to use of fingernails for texts - this dents the metal flat "keys". 7. You could scratch it with your eyes, but since I replace it so often for other faults, it's not much of a problem! Gorgeous phone (still) but so seriously flawed. If I could get one that worked, it would rate 5 stars all day long.

This is a rip off 1) On the same day I bought it, it shut down and never worked again. I returned it and got another device. 2- After that the battery does not continue more than 1 day. 3- Closes every 1 minute during calls when I first got it. 4- Fingerprints and scratches make it ugly. My advice: Buy it to show off ONLY

I have had this phone for a month and a half now, and i am truly impressed - it seems to blend fashion and functionality into one hell of a handset! The mirror is really quite handy - even for the lads! The screen is truly stunning, with vibrant colours and great contrast. The scroll wheel takes some getting used to, but can really be useful for list navigation etc., And as for the camera: Astonishing! I seem to be takin better photos with my LG shine than with my 3.5mp digital camera! All i can say is that i have no regrets with buying this phone, and would definitely recommend to anyone!

I've had this phone for two weeks, but could NOT get bluetooth to work on incoming calls!! (outgoing calls worked ok) Took the thing back to dealer and exchanged for the same model. tried it in store and worked fine on incoming calls. Less than 24 hours later same thing happening again. Very disappointed and frustrated. For all its features it is a nice bit of kit, but blue tooth function is a huge let down, especially from a safety point of view when driving. This is definitely off the list!!!

I got this phone as my upgrade and I am returning it. Here are my pros and cons to this phone: Pros: looks nice, feels sterdy, easy menu options, a lot of customizing options Cons: Heavy, camera takes photos that are blurred, did not like the scroller Apart from this, whether you like this phone or not is really a matter of taste. I am returning it simply because it is too heavy however, my friend likes the fact it is heavy because he says it feels like it wont break easily. hope this helps anyone who is lookin to purchase this phone!!

I got my LG Shine a week and a half ago, and I have had no problems!!! People have been saying that the roller is annoying, that when it turns off and doesn't turn back on, that music on the memory card doesn't get played on the MP3 player, etc...None of that has happened with mine, but maybe that's just my extraordinary good luck ;) Maybe the music didn't work on the MP3 function because either a) it wasn't an MP3 file (AAC, WMA etc), or b) it wasnt saved in the MP3 folder of the memory card??? And why did James have to spend £40 on a microSD?? Rip off!! T-Mobile gave me one free with my phone, and a 2GB one is only £20 from Carphone Warehouse! And it doesn't only hold 20 text messages, it's your sim card that only holds 20!! Duh! Ok, I must admit that the mirror screen is very high maintenance, but you have to expect that when you buy a phone with a mirror screen! Apart from that, I would give this phone 10/10, it truly is excellant and none of the problems that others are reporting have happened to me :)

Okish Phone! Keeps on cutting out when switching between a 3g Signal and regular. Camera is good and phone is generally easy to use. This is my first LG and i was dissapointed!(might get the N95 or Sony next) Only get this phone if you live in an area where the 3g signal is VERY strong

I have had the LG shine for over a mounth now and soome of the problems that otherpeople have been having all depends on your cercumstance. Like some people are saying that the LG shine is not a good phone for reseption but if they had changes network wen got this phone that might be the reason because i stayed on o2 because it has allways had a googd reseption and i still do, it also depends were you are at the time, if you are on the underground you cant realy say it is a rubish reseptin coz it oviously woudnt be good on the underground !!!! Also people say that it isnt very loud but is just as loud as the nokia w810i wich was my previous phone. You can get a memory stick for this phone ignor anyone how says that you cant coz you can!!!!!!! The other thing is the skroll stick it is soo coll lol it fells as if you are on computer all the time you are useing this phone. The camra is greate so is the ring tones and overall this phone is wiicked !!!! please bii this phone if you dont you will regret it for shure trust !!!! from me

I have absolutley no idea why people are complaining about this phone. So it has a mirror that scratches apperently. ha yeah right , if you care for the phone it will not get scratched. This phone has been the worst I have ever had. I bought the phone in August from JAG. It failed in early October as it froze, I could not turn it off unless I took the battery out, I could not access numbers, any features and I took it back to the shop. They said I could not get a new one (I had only had it 6 weeks) and I had to claim on insurance. I refused as it was a manufacturers fault. The shop sent it off to be repaired and I still have not seen it or heard from it since the 10th of October. it is now 22nd of November. I spoke to JAG this morning who have spoken to LG and it mow turns out that the shop should have sent a proof of purchase with it and did not so the phone has not even been looked at. I don't even want the thing back now. DON'T BUY ONE and DON't SHOP AT JAG.

I bought this phone I have regret it Good thing: looks really good I don’t even mind the smudges on the screen I think the roller is cool also The problems are more in the options: I’m experiencing some problems with changing ring tone I change it for all users of course but still when receiving some calls is rings differently HOW; WHY????? When you insert the memory card you thing, great I have a 1gb mp3 player BUT when you start the music from the card it doesn’t provide any options of equalizer or random choice song play list so what do I have to do, listen the songs in the same old sequence over and over again? Also when a song stored on the memory card finishes it will not go automatically to the next you have to do it yourself (STUPID) I know it looks good but this LG is not the best choice ever!!

i love the luk of this phone, definatly one of the best looking phones on the market now. texting it very easy on this, similar layout to nokia phones. luv the scroll- very inventive, and again very easy to get used to. the memory isnt great bt its easy to buy a memory card. impressed with camera too. the speaker isnt great tho, its beta to listen to the music wiv earphones as the equaliser on this phone wasnt perfected. was disapointed to find out you cant actually text more than 6 people at a tym with this phone, but overall im happy with it.

The phone is pretty good, it does the job, but there are much better phones on the market. i had a nokia for 18months and then i went to this. the screen had cracked within two weeks. don't by this if you drop your phone a lot, it won't last you long.

good phone when it works. the screen can be hard to see thoughh when its sunny. i dont like the fact that you cant change the text alert to your own ringtone and its annoying that when you put a memory card in you cant listen 2 songs through the mp3 player. apart from that the phone is brilliant. i'd recommend it to anyone looking for a new phone

Pathetic excuse for a phone. had it two weeks & it froze through a phone call and wouldnt switch back on - when it did it kept phoning emergency numbers because the keys had switched internally!! it was then 2 days til i could take it back to the shop who then said i could be waiting up to 28 days for it to be repaired and sent back. luckily it came back in just over a week but since being repaired ive had many more problems. i bought spare batteries off ebay just so i can be sure ill have a battery to last me through the day, i have spare chargers to carry around with me. i have bought screen protectors & clear casings to protect it from scratching! its a waste of money. the screen freezes & occasionally switches itself off if you scroll too fast, the keys become stuck & freeze during writing a text message, the sound is pathetically quiet!!!! && what bugs me most is when i listen to the mp3 player it crackles & skips !!! whoever thought they would get away with such rubbish by making it look pretty want sorting out. i promise you, its a waste of money spending a single penny on this bag of junk!! get something worthwhile instead!! it can be a good phone though, reception isnt too bad but the battery life during phone calls falls rapidly, its extremely good looking and does get a fair few stares in the street!! & the mirror never fails to work! HA! but i bought this phone to replace an old phone that is infact a million times better than this one.

We were advised by C P W, that this was the best going, now 6 months later we are getting rid. The roller control system is tricky to use at the best of times. With no external speaker it is very quiet and cannot be heard,(even in a quiet area), the front screen cannot be seen in any bright surrounding, so forget it in bright sunshine. The internal memory is poor so you can't store more than 5 songs on it, I personally tokk 5 months to find the songs I downloaded on to it,I couldn't find them anywhere in the memory,plug it into the p.c. and there they are,but with no external speaker you can't play them out loud anyway.In brief NICE LOOKING PHONE FOR THE FASHION CONCIOUS BUT TRICKY TO USE, USELESS TO LISTEN TO AND SEE OUTDOORS.

i've had mine for nearly 2 weeks now. its pretty good so far. the only things are: the battery amount changes, sometimes there are 2 bars left, then goes up to 3. Also its switched its self off twice. the roller ball scroller is a bit annoying, but you get used to it. a little thing that bothers me tho: u cant copy text from one text and paste to another. so if you want to copy something, u need to write it out again! annoying other than that, its a great looking phone.

just got this phone and i tihnk its amazing! not had many problems with it so far.. and finding it easier to use every time i use it..only thing i find is how do you change the sliding tones and dialling tones and stuf..? like when you open the phone and close it it has a tone to it..i wana change that..no idea how to though..anyone got any ideas ? please post a comment on here! cus i would love to know..otherwise im guna have to keep it on vibrate forevr cus the tones bug me !! but other than that the phones great..such a girls phone! love the mirror :) X

Bought this phone week it come out, pretty gorgeous to look at but wouldnt switch on after you switched it off. Finally got annoyed with it, sent it off for repair, after 3 weeks got it back only to find the microphone wasn't working. Sent it back again and got a brand new replacement hich i prompty flogged on Ebay! Not a reliable phone.....

This is a bad phone, please do not buy one. I'm now on my 3rd one after the previous 2 refused to turn themselves back on despite being fully charged. I now don't risk turning it off when I go to bed. The scrolling tool has also given up the ghost which is OK for some features where you can navigate the menu with the numbers but on other features you come unstuck and simply can't read the end of long text messages. This brings us on to the final gripe with the phone, the usability of it is awful with almost no continuity between functions. It can also be a tedious, drawn out process for basic things like read a new text..."You have a new text message" Click View. "Which one do you want to view?" This one "Now what do you want to do?" View the text message. It could be so much simpler and so much better. The sound quality for the user and the person on the other end of the line is bad. Infact, the only thing going for it is that for about 5 minutes after getting it out of the box it looks nice but then after that it gets easilly scratched. Never buying anything from LG again, gutted that I've got this phone for another 12 months on my contract.

I really liked this phone, all the way up until the screen cracked and died whilst in my jeans pocket, and no I was not hit by a car or doing anything that you would think that might cause such an event. I'm hoping that will be a one off and not s sign of how fragile it is or may be.

I brought this phone as it looked good and included all the functions I wanted from a phone. Pretty impressed and it certainly makes a statement. One problem though, an external memory card is needed to make the phone hold a decent amount of songs.

I think this phone is outstading ! Ive had it now for 6 months and im due to send it back as my contract is due up. This phone has a great sound tec.. cam is realy good.. the set out off the phone is amazing. My mate douted me to get this phone when it first came out reasons for it being a LG. But dnt be put off its great ! The only dout i have about this phone is It get finger prints on it realy easly but isent a problem if you are a clean person .

Got this phone yesterday from GF! I'm trying not to look a gift horse in the mouth but 2 things bug me: Lack of multiple alarms (Even my old NEC e313 had 5 alarms!) and the ring volume. It's very quiet. I've had to use the loudest mp3 I can find (and thats scooter techno - LOUD!) and it's still quiet! I've not had any other problems yet, but will post back here in about 1 week.

OK. Just read all the other reviews. Very mixed. I am on my fourth LG Shine Handset in 8 weeks. It's gash. Love the phone to bits but as others have said cack camera - doesn't zoom - can't see screen in sun,scratches easily and most of all the battery life is AWFUL! Never had anything like it - resist people! Stick to Nokia all the way.

On my old phone I could play a Whole Cd, leave the phone in my pocket and just listen through my headphones, but this phone does not allow you to do that. I have to keep the phone in my hand and change the tune myself. It's so annoying. secondly everyone I know has a volume up to about 8 but the LG Shine only goes up to 5, I actually miss a lot of calls because it is either in my pocket or somewhere , like another room. Yes it looks nice but these are the downfulls for me.

I bought LG shine 2 days back and I have used its all the features. I think the phone is worth to buy at such price however I have following concerns- 1. No FM radio :( 2. Java applications are very less on net which can be downloaded into cell. 3. Picture capturing in landscape format.

Don't waste your money. Heard plenty about the annoying side but my phone is less than 2 months old & already in for repair. Had to be reformatted and lost all my contact no's. Reception is rubbish and battery had to be replaced coz it died too quick. Won't waste time on any more LG's after this & the choc.

i got this phone on upgrade in april, and since then it has been for repair twice to no avail, it just doesnt receive all text messages sent to me by friends, so there i am thinking people are ignoring me when they have replied, with delivery reports to prove it, yet no message on my phone, worst phone ever!!

too shiny for me, to be honest, cant see at all well outside, looks nice BUT rather basic. often freezes so i had to take the battery out a number of times, rather slow, VERY quiet, keypad not very easy to use and after a full stop when texting, if you do a space it freezes and the letter doesnt come out. does this nearly everytime i text. hardly any memory, text tone was too quiet, everytime you connect it to the pc, often switches itself off randomly plus when you take it off the usb theres never any signal, so i had to switch it on and off about 10 times before i got any signal. didnt work with memory card, froze everytime i copyed something onto it, sound is rubbish and not as expected. not as good as my old samsung d600. screen often gets dirty and scratched easily, not enough functions. my package included video calling but there wasnt that function :S randomly switches off. battery life only lasted 1 day for me, and i didnt play the games or anything. picture quality okay, but the camera is too slow and very sensitive. overall, i prefer sony ericssons or samsungs, LG phones all look great but...

I am a very heavy mobile phone user. Average I change a phone each year.I had used Sony Ericsson T28, K700i, then Nokia 6300 and Samsung D830, but never try on a LG. I heard a lot of complain of LG phones, and finally I decided to try one myself. I end up with LG SHINE KG970. I am really happy with it. I read all the review here, a lot of people are complaining about it. So I would like to share my own experience with this phone too. The built is solid. Sliding mechanism much better than U600 and U700. Anyone that own a U600 or U700, remove the battery cover and you will be suprised that it only use a simple metal for the sliding mechanism.Very unreliable and unstable. Battery life, so far so good. It last 2 days for me with medium usage on calls, mp3 and etc... Although it alert you that the battery is low, you can still actually make a 30 minutes call with it...

I do not see any problem wif tis phone, all the shortcoming brought up in all those complaints i have not encountered! Number one, message and call alerts can be changed, of course! U can change them in the profiles menu. If u havent fully explored the phone, do not complain about it! Number two, to read a received message u dont need to go all the way to the msg folder from the main menu. By rolling up the scoller u can hav access to the quick menu, which u can edit to make sure that the first thing on the quick list is the inbox. Number three, the screen is a mirror, yes, and makes it no different from other shiny glass surfaces, so it is almost impossible not to have smudges. In fact, they provide a screen cleaner so that u can clean it easily. If u cannot tolerate a bit of smudge, and still insist on a mirror screen, then i suggest you wait for the advanced technology of this world to come up with a mirror phone which is smudge proof. Number four, the roller is not as irritating as it seems. Yes, when i first got the phone i thought that its sensitivity was a pain, but i soon got used to it, and now i do not have any problems. To add on my friends have said that rolling up and down feels nice. The roller is clearly one of the specialties of this phone! Number five, I have got no problems with its sound volume. It may seem a little quiet in loud, crowded areas, but i have seen no better in the other phones i have used. Besides, it is not a walkman phone, so you cannot expect so much from its sound quality. But i am not saying that its sound sucks either. I think its average, and even better than some other phones. If you want a phone thats blasting, then get a walkman phone. However i agree that this phone is not very user friendly, but i am used to it already(a non user friendly phone only keeps people from easily snooping around in my phone;) though the software in the computer sucks, it can connect to the computer, so i can transfer files well enough even without the software. Other than that, i have no probems with this pretty phone, most of all i do not regret getting it!

My LG is constantly TURNING ITSELF OFF! then somtimes takes ages 2 turn back on, or it just wont turn bk on. the camera is in a stupid place always putting my finger on it. The sound is too low i never hear my phone ring or wen i get a text, and somtimes iv had it ring in my hand and its so low i couldnt hear no sound at all (unless i put it next 2 my ear). also wen i set a ringtone somtimes it rings with the LG tone not what i have it set 2. i have tried setting groups and changing the default but nothing works the only way 4 it 2 work is 2 go into the contact name then edit it to chose a ringtone just 4 them, (but lately this has stopped working!). i havent heard anyone elese mentin this but wen my phone is open(slided up) the ringtone is even more quite so i dnt no if all slide phones do this? .the camera is 2 slow, cannot see a thing in the sunlight, the phone freezes alot, i have 2 charge it every 2days and i dnt even use anything on the phone.it also doesnt al ways tell me if i have a text!, the signal is very poor. people are saying it scratches easy but its going 2 if its a mirror, i could see that before i even had the phone but I have one of those sock covers for mine and this works! but my battery is my biggest problem!

I recently took delivery of an LG Shine, I would like to advise you that whilst I love the look and most aspects of the phone, the ringtone is way too quiet, I cannot hear the phone if it is in my bag. I have missed so many calls. Also the roller to scroll up and down the menu takes a bit if getting used to, I often scroll past the item I need, its very unpredictable. Overall, I like the phone, but the fact I cannot hear it is a problem.

I got the LG Shine during the summer and, as stated, I found it very difficult to see in the sunlight. Also, I find the roller very agaitating and the battery is not very good. The ringer volume is too low; I can barely hear it. I'#ve tried so hard to make it louder, but it is just too low! Despite everything bad about it. I like the appearance, the services and the camera is quite good.

It seems to me that many of you people are judging things about the phone that are simply out of its control. For example, many have complained about your reception. Thats the carriers fault, not the phone. Here in AUS i get reception everywhere, even in lifts and car parks etc. If you don't like the ringtones or they're not loud enough then put some of your own on that are louder..? Seems pretty simple to me. Clearly a reflective screen is going to get finger prints on it... and if it does it takes like 2 seconds to remove them with the supplied cleaner. Most of you would have been told about the short battery life when you bought it, i know i was, so if you bought it anyway thats your own fault. The controls (scroller, keypad) do take some getting used to. You can't trash them when you've only had it for like 3 days, it took me at least a week to get accustomed to it. Now that its second nature, it has become one of the fastest and most responsive interfaces I hav e ever used on a phone. As for scratches, if you're an idiot and you don't look after it then you deserve what you've got. Actually after reading the posts again most of the people who do trash it say they have had the phone for a short time. It does take some getting used to and some patience to get it going. Also some intelligence :)

After begging my husband to buy me this lush phone, i am already trying to sell it! The lg looks stunning but looks are very deceiving! When in light, you cannot see the screen what so ever. It has pretty poor memory too. Its not practical because as soon as you touch it, you have to clean it. ideal if you only use your phone very little but for someone who is constantly on their mob like me, its rubbish!

I bought shine from lg but i'm very disappointed. The battery life sucks. Took me around only 1 day or two to drain out. I want my money back, i'll try another phone, maybe a samsung u600 or somethin' like that. Any help on how to work around this battery problem would be nice. Best regards.

When i first saw this phone i thought hummm not too sure, then the 02 guy sold it to me and i loved it, it was great the whole mirror thing was fab, the only problem is you cant see anything if the sun is shining on it, which is like most phones reli. but then it started to annoy me its quiet, message tones are rubbish especially because you cant change them to a ring tone thats annoying. i took it bk but all 02 could do was give me a new LG shine. 2 weeks later it broke again, it turned itself off and wouldn't come bk on :| so i took it bk then a couple of weeks after that it broke again. whilst having this phone (under 3 months) these faults have occurred: screen freezing buttons sticking and the worst and most recent fault it turned itself off when i closed it :| it may look nice on the outside but its a rubbish phone and i dont recommend it to anyone!

The phone is a very easy scratcher and although it looks quite smart it's very annoying as you can't change the text alert tone and the most annoying thing is the storage that it holds, as a modern phone you would think it would hold quite a lot but it stores at the most 12 songs. apart from that smart phone and beautiful design, personally i love the scroll bar but using it a lot it can start to hurt your finger.

had my LG SHINE for 1 month.using the phone is excellent.but like most of you say its hard to stop getting scratches on the screen.there is screen protectors you can buy.keeps it brand new.also you can also purchase the plastic mirror screen for as little as 99p if you already have scratches..bought a 2gig card for £17.never had problem with my mp3 player.you ll have to take to shop where purchased to get to them to unlock feature which allows you to listern to all music in phone or sd card.brilliant classy phone.bought my misses 1 aswell.

A really nice looking phone. Easy to use. It has a couple of issues though. It gets dirty really easily- you can't help but get fingermarks over it. I also had a major issue of downloading tunes. They won't go into the mp3 section for some reason or other and ended up in the 'sounds' section! The internal memory is rubbish. A sd card is a must for photos /music. Takes really good quality pictures. All in all, apart from a few issues that need sorting out, it is an excellent quality phone that i am pleased with ...so far !

I've had the LG shine for about 2 weeks and its working great, it is quiet but with headphones when listening to music its loud, so get the headfones(i got mine free). All phones will scratch there mobiles not footballs, look after it. A phone with a mirror is going to smudge so clean it, problem solved! you cant store many songs without the memory stick, if all you wana do is listen to songs, get an I-pod not a phone. I can store enough songs too keep me happy. As for everything elese, the phone is amazing, easy to use, including the transfer of files and images to the computer. takes great pictures and videos. has all the features for a good up-todate phone. looks so stylish, and feels great fits in your pocket nicely, very slim, its quiet heavy, which for me is good, i know its still in my pocket lol. i think if you open the phone use the scroller to change to "outdoor" mode it makes it louder never needed to change it thou. best phone i could want, got it for £140 brillaint price for such a flashy phone. 5/5

I have had the phone a little over two months and i have found the Battery is rubbish, it looses it's reception, the screen saver keeps disappearing plus sometimes it wont delete my texts and i have to have a couple of goes to get them to delete. I am now sending my phone back to be fixed as i have been told that they think it may have a software problem. But the only problem is i dont really want this phone anymore. Any suggestions as to how to go about getting another one as i purchased it over the phone from T Mobile.

Great Phone had it for over 2 months now, great reception, battery life, and overall great quality. And for all of you that say it scratches easily, if you take care of the phone its pretty much impossible to scratch the front now the back is a different story.

I got the phone for my birthday, I love the phone but the sound quality lets me down :( I bought a 2 gb memory card for under £15 so the memory wasn't a problem I put it in an ipod sock in my pocket so it wouldn't get scratched then later I bought a clear plastic cover for £3! so it was fine! But the sound went all crackly so I had to take it back and get it replaced after 2days!!!! I was gutted, I had to replace my 02 sim card so I had to let everyone know my new 02 number! And waste another £5 credit! So I got a repacement then I realised that the sound is exactly the same and just as quiet! :S So I was wonderin if there was anything lg has like a small speaker (that could fit in yer pocket) that would make it louder and that you could just plug into your phone??? Any suggestions??? Sorry about the essay!! lol!! :S

Battery life is fab .. don't know why people are having problems, easy to connect to the net .. no problems there either and the look of it is amazing !! Total fashion statement here lol !! I loved the look of the phone and switched up from the U880...I'd had some trouble with the PC software for the U880 but was not prepared for the disappointment of the shine PC software. 1 word terrible, can't even save text mesages if you can ever get it installed. You have to switch modes to load/unload pictures audio files, very confusing. LG get your software people on to this gremlin software and give us something that works.

I have to totally agree with the 'dutty rock'. As far as I can tell from his superior command of the English language he is right in saying that its a terrible phone. Its impossible to see what's on the screen in daylight and you cannot transfer any text messages from it onto a PC. The navigation is so awkward I have found myself avoiding sending texts and making calls because i just can't be bothered with the faff.

ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS PHONE!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY IT!!!.... I got this phone because my phone provider had no samsungs available.... sooo unhappy with it that I've kept my old samsung flip phone and given the phone to a family member... First of all... The keypad is horrible! If your an sms freak like myself... it's a pain! I have small fingers and even I kept pressing 2 keys at once. As for the scroll function - it's rubbish! why is the cancel button not with the main function keys? It's not user friendly at all! The look of the phone - is great - probably one of the only positives, and if your the kind of person who just makes calls all day long - it's perfect for you... but for a good phone design it has to be FUNCTIONAL - and aesthetically appealing... and this lacks the most vital point. The functions seemed pretty standard - but lacked the option to increase the memory with a mini SD card. ALL in all... I would not recommend you buy this phone if you use sms.

I love this phone... i love the look and the scroll wheel... the only problems i have found is the phone isnt that loud... sooo i end up missin many calls... also i am having problems with the key pad when ever writing a text i go to press 3 and up up cancellin the whole message by pressing the cancel button. other then that the phone is fine :)

this phone is not all its cracked up to be. fingerprints stain it if you have greasey fingers and it is very quiet too. anyone else has this problem. for what it is its way too expensive im going back to my trusted sony z530i no problems with sony. dont buy this phone- its a RIP-OFF!!!! also the camera isnt very good sort of pixelated im returning this phone as it is a waste of money

I bought the Shine earlier today and to be honest, I think it's excellent! I have had the Samsung D500 for over 2 years now, and I thought it was time for a change. I had been looking through all the phone shops, but once I had seen the Shine I just had to have it. The camera is excellent and the mirror will come in handy. I'm not sure what you lot are going on about as I have already connected the phone to my laptop no bother. And yes I do see your point about the screen being a bit vague in the sunlight, but I haven't had any serious bother. And the signal is good too. Its about the network, so don't go blaming the phone. The signal is always three bars and above!!! Overall FANTASTIC phone

After all the hype i took this on as my first contract phone. Looked good at the start but must say very dissapointed. The shine looks good until you want to make a phone call on it. the control buttons are very small and sometimes difficult to use. Ringtone far too quiet and vibrate alert must be used. The camera is quite good, and the MP3 player is good as well. I will not purchase an LG phone again. Its back to Nokia for me.

I have had the LG shine since April now and I am sad to say that I wished i had not picked it. 3 weeks ago it had to be sent back to get a wire tightened as the screen didnt work. Yesterday I brought it back down to the car phone warehouse as the camera doesen't work. Thankfully they have ordered me a new fone free. But the phone scratches easily and the main display can chip. Overall I wouldn't recommened this phone as it is unreilable for a 210 pund fone!

battery doesnt last 5 minutes..unless you dont use the phone..!!! also ringtone way to low..miss calls and txts all the time.....also why cant you cjange the txt message tone??very backward for a 2007 phone.my daughter has one too and it keeps redailling the last called number on its own...all in all a rubbish phone for the money...worth 50 quid at most..probably why the chinese diamond shine IS only 50 quid!!!and this piece of rubbish is near on 200 quid in england if you buy it on pay n go..and they wont take it back..

I bought the Shine 2 days back. Really really a bad phone from LG. Bad MP3 player.No playlist. Phone polyphonic ringtones comes itself in MP3 player list. How LG can release such a non standard software in such a good designed phone. I am going to return this back to store. You can't change the message ringtone. Battery indecator is poor and always put you in confusion.

The worse phone i have ever owned, won't turn back on despite being "repaired" by even more incompatant phones for you twice. Recieves the worse reception i have ever had, usually none at all despite me working at the highest point in my town i never have any inside and then have to stand outside for 10 minutes for it to return. I suggest if you have these problems along with the phone freezing and having to be sent away, complain to the manafacturer as it is ridiculous they get away with selling something that clearly does not function properly

evryone keeps goin on about the battery. I charge my phon eup wen i go to bed and i have never had a problem with it. The battery is just like every other phone just charge it every night. Most of my phones i've had will loose half the battery by the end of the day. I dont like the way ya cant change the theme of it but ahh well its sexy.

Hi guys i had the phone for a month no problems at all but when i put a memory card in my phone. And uploaded some pics mp3s. And so on that's we're it started my phone started to shutdown on its own and reboot it self sent it in for a software upgrade now will let you know if this helps still a great looking phone though.

A great looking phone that really catches people attention, it very easy to use even when your used to Nokia's. It has a great camera and I love the auto focus on it. But here's the problems I have had since late Feb this year; Occasionally Switches itself off and sometimes will not power up again, so you have to remove the battery. For some strange reason it goes into roaming mode! The phone scratches easily and you are constantly wiping finger marks off it. Not many downloadable games from O2. The best way to describe this phone is Very Stylish.

This phone is awful, had a reset problem with an initial handset, a replacement did the same thing. It would turn off and reset during 50% of calls bad reception everywhere, do yourself a favour it may look nice but don't buy it.

I've had my Shine for just over a month now. Don't know why everyone seems to whine about this phone. It looks SOOOO cool and does what it needs to. Some have complained about the scroll wheel - but it's no more difficult than getting used to using a computer mouse for the first time (ie pretty damn easy!) The screen has been visible on even the sunniest days. My only criticism would be the capture time on the camera - takes too long to photo anything that moves - but then if that's what you wanted buy a phone with a better camera feature, or use a camera!! I've noticed no difference in terms of reception with this phone and the others I've had over the years. Battery-life seemes ok unless you're tkaing photos with a flash. I'd say if you liike the look of it - go for it!!

Absolute rubbish...The 'n' in shine should be replaced with a 't'. I upgraded in April to the LG Shine after using Sony Ericsson's over the past 4 years, big mistake. Dont bother trying to use it outside as you cant see what the hell you are doing. Looks nice & thats all...not for me.

i've had the lg shine for a few days now...i got it for £129.95 with a 2gb card which i thought was good! it impressed everyone that saw it, the roller isn't as bad as made out!! but isn't perfect. my only issue is the fact the reception isn't amazing. but i do get enuff for where i am so i'm impressed!

I got an LG Shine on Orange Contract, And now wish I had'nt. The Momory of the phone is pathetic. I uploaded 4 pix and about 5 songs from pc. To be told that the Memory is now full,. The sound quality without the headset is appaling. ( Pointless having your own mp3 ringtone as you can't hear it). The sider scroll key is pointless and annoying. Also The clip for pluging in the charger or USB cable is Nia on impossable to open without using a sharp knife or something similar.

Lovely looking phone... Brilliant phone for looks, but incessantly crashes and turns off. Signal is terrbile on the handset itself, and when you turn it off, often is the case that you cannot turn it back on. The mirror is good, hard to scratch. Well suited to life in england, as there is never any sun to reflect off the screen and make reading difficult!

This phone is diabolical. Awful battery. Smudges all over. Can't see the screen. Slow to load photos off the sd card. Camera is rubbish. Signal is poor. Got it on contract- gave up and reverted back to my SE K800i. I should have waited for the K810i. Never will I purchase and LG again. SE or Samsung only for me unless Nokia surprise me.

I got this phone about 4 months ago and was initially impressed, though i thought that the roller would break after about 2 weeks it's still going strong. However in the past 2 weeks the phone has decided to switch itself off randomly, more often than not early in the morning thus causing my alarm to not wake me up. Added to this is it's inability to recognise that the charger is plugged in meaning i have to turn it off and on again to get it to charge, not a big deal but inconvenient. Worse still is the fact that when trying to create, delete or edit reminders in the calendar it freezes up on exiting. Overall AVOID!

i bought it today and i tried charging it but it wont light up saying its charging...so obviously its not charging. the back cover for the battery and sim card wont attach...it came in the box like that. So im going to exchange it but reading most of the reviews, it doesnt seem like a good phone although it is pretty.

I have had my LG Shine phone for a few months now. I love the look of the phone but agree it is very poor. The ring tone volume's as most of you have mentioned is very very low and have also noticed you cannot asign personnel Message alert and Alarm tones which I think is very very poor. Although my battery was fine to start with I have noticed I do need to charge it up a lot more now and yes the signal is very bad, even in built up areas. When you turn off the phone you cannot turn it back on, you have to take out the battery to get it to switch on again which is very frustrating. Overall the phone looks nice but it is not the best phone I have had. I will stock to NOKIA in the future.

I have a a phone that will neither sync with my computer or take pictures. The camera works until you try and take a picture then it locks, leave it for 10 minutes and it takes the picture of whereever you laid the phone down. Very frustrating problems I can fix.
