Well, I've bought this phone four days ago and have test it. - About battery: I've charged the battery till it was full than disconnect the charge cable and reconnect it few minutes later till the phone indicates again that the battery was full. I repeat that three times. During these four days I've played a lot with phone, also watched entire Matrix movie (the first one) in divx format, tried out every single program and setting. Connected via bluetooth with pc, made a lot of phone calls... Still with the same first charge. I won't recharge till the battery indicator lost one "cell block". And it still run on the same charge (and I don't swith off it at night). Don't forget of course to set the auto light mode. And it will help to chose the black theme. -Regarding photo quality: remember to clean up the lens before taking a shot! No more blur pictures... I agree that the noise reduction software is too strong with ripetitive pattern subjects. Also the falsh at short distance is uncontrolled. About ISO settings: forgive the auto iso setting, it will boost up the sensibility to 800 ISO in a normal light indoor condition. Set the ISO at 100 ISO in daylight and max 400 ISO in a room. -Regarding signal strenght I suggest that you force the phone in GSM mode instead automatic (UMTS/3g) simply because the auto mode can cause problems when the phone "jumps" between one and other protocol. -Music player: gorgeus. It works very well with cristall clear sound if you set the equi. -Divx player: astonishing! It works, really! -Gmail: it is better to download the gmail for mobile (it is faster) instead of using the default program. sTouch buttons: if LG have left out the "down" touch button under the "phisical" central button, it would be a better idea. Incidental press-buttons happens only with the "down" touch... Well, finally I can say that I like this phone.

Agree with most here, battery life and reception worse than any other phone I've had. Also, USB connection wizard doesn't find my phone even though plugged in and icon appears in tray! So I'll have to use bluetooth to transfer/backup files. After I downloaded a game I had an icon appear which isn't in the manual , like this --] only upright. I didn't know what it was and, fearing I was running up an astronimical bill connected to something, the only way I could get rid of it was to turn my phone off and back on!

Unfortunatly could not get a signal anywhere around my area.(Wales).Even took it for a ride in car with no success. Never had this prob with any other phone. Decided to stick with my sony k770i as it does everything I want a camera phone to do.Should have taken notice of other reviews . I read.Apparently seems to be a very common problem

Stylish and strong. Scratchproof and you could probably do some damage with it as a weapon (not that you would) The only issue is the flash lite OS. Slow and awkward. The file manager shows the memory card files as one merged list, unless you are only viewing the card data only (last option on the list). So you can't navigate around a folder structure very well. They've got a few similar features and layouts to the OS on SE phones. But the load time is so annoying, watching that damn flash loading thing. And it doesn't even play normal swf content. Only special flash lite ones of which there is very little of. If anyone finds some half decent software or flash lite stuff for this, please let me know. Opera downloads and works but i couldn't get a proper signed version on it so downloading files you have to allow it access to your phone about 5-10 times for one file. Haven't really felt the full force of hsdpa yet either, my SE k800i was as good on the web. Probably down to my provider and coverage. But it's good enough i suppose. Touchscreen is no more than a gimmick. You'll also notice that the video camera has difficulty in low light when using the different frame rates. Almost like a threshold, when there is enough light it's suddenly brilliant. I think it may be an issue with the auto-brightness. I've had two of these so i don't think it's just a faulty phone. Anyone else had this issue? Looks good, feels good, great for phoning and the T9 isn't too bad. OS needs a lot of work though and this is what could make a good phone a great phone. Still worth a 4 stars but could so easily have been a 5+ stars. LG- i hate to say it but learn from the iphone.

I had this phone on contract 2 months ago, and I can honestly say its the most irritating phone I have had, and I have had a lot! Yes it looks great - until you touch it, but thats why they have added the little dangly thing to clean the screen with, but this can be a downside as I am constantly holding it out of the way whilst trying to take a photo. The lens is in a bad place and I have lots of photos of my fingers.. The battery life is the worst I have ever known, charge it all day and I can guarantee after an hour or two of playing about with it you will need to charge it again. The touch screen is really annoying, rarely taking me where I wanted to go and quite often the screen freezes until the battery is removed and then put back in again. This phone does look stunningly beautiful but I would only recommend for people who have bags of patience, and definately not for serious heavy use.

Loved the 'phone, BUT for 2 things... The battery life is OK (about 3 days on standby with maybe an hour's calls and an hour receiving all the contacts over Bluetooth, with Bluetooth & 3G turned on all the time), but there's little or no warning when the battery's about to expire - it goes from 3 blobs to dead in no time at all... Secondly, reception is patchy to say the least. On Orange, my old Sony gets at least 2 bars of signal all round the house, with the LG it spends all of its time either on "Emergency Calls Only" or no service at all. Strangely almost everywhere else, the signal seems fine. Unfortunately, the whole point of a mobile phone is to make calls which you can't do if there's no signal. Sorry LG - a lovely phone let down by its sensitivity - only 2 stars.

I cant turn the volume above 2 or it goes extremely crackly. anyone else had this problem? good sound through headphones so is definately the speaker. otherwise is nice phone :)

I have had my LG Secret for just over a week, so far so good. I had read the reviews on here and was a bit concerned. The signal where I live is rubbish, but I actually get better reception than I did on my Nokia 6500 slide. The battery life seems OK, have only had to charge once (after initial charge). Was told by Orange to charge for 16 hours even if the battery life says full after a couple of hours.Phone looks great haven't had any probs, camera is good too. Would definitely recommend. Takes a bit of getting used to as it seemed to jump all over the place to start with. Have a bit of patience, take your time and RTFM.

OMG, If you are going to write a review commenting on poor reception etc, at least state which network you are on and where you live, because if you are on orange and live in the countryside, reception is going to be poor for certain. With most new phones its a trade off between looks/functionality and practicality/reliability. If you buy an IPOD how long does the battery last if you use it all day?? 10 hours? Its the same with a phone so if you want a phone that you can use for 24hrs a day without having to charge it for 3-4 days at a time you should go and buy one with a car battery attached to it! The fact is, the more physical features a phone has (ie slide, touchscreen, camera) the more battery power is required in order for it to function. Its quite simple really!

was really looking forward to recieving my LG Secret, i'm now on my third handset and looking to even send this one back. The very first handset i recieved it played up from the beginning, it wouldn't recieve text messages, or it would and they would be texts from 2days before, it would cut out during phone calls and it wouldn't connect to the computer. Sent this one back, and recieved a replacement handset from Orange within a week. This handset improved and text messages started flowing in, then it started playing up again, this time with my blue tooth and once again connecting to the computer. Bluetooth would send to other phones, but wouldn't recieve with this in mind i rang the Orange services and they sent out another replacement handset. This time my LGsecret will not charge at all, bearing this in mind the battery life of this phone is appauling meaning i have to charge it every 2days. Signal is poor inside buildings, and you can not text outside if the sun is shining because you can not see the screen. Overall i think the LG secret is a good phone, is very nice to look at and show off to your mates, and the camera is fantastic, just a shame the main things in a phone let it down.

I had some problems with the battery to start off with and then my network changed the phone and it now lasts about 3 days before it needs to be recharged. I am not much of a camera person but I am really getting to grips with the camera and video. Its also got loads of great features like call reject which allows you to reject calls without your phone even ringing. I would reccommend it to anyone.

I work in a phone shop and have handled the handset quite a lot. It looks quite good compared to some of the other handsets currently selling. However, if you're having problems with battery life it might be worth trying this...you should not be charging a new handset for longer than it takes to fill the battery up. On old handsets you had to charge for about 10 hours for the first charge. This is no longer the case-if you charge your battery for too long it will overload it and ruin your battery life. Just charge it for an hour or until it says that it is full. This may help those of you experiencing poor battery life.

The messages other people sent me didnt seen to get through, or they were delayed (yet other people were getting REPORTS that their text was delived to my phone)....I went back to the store, where they refused to exchange it, they took a look at it, played around with message settings and sent me home...a few days later it all started again, and I went back to the store, this time they blamed the network (i use Vodafone), yet all of my friends use the same network. Once again I was sent home. The third time I went, i was claiming a new phone, due to the warrenty they should change it....but they refused to help me, saying that I am a foreigner and I have no rights in Malta, and to the policy of their store they do not change phones if the customer is not satisfied. yet the agreed to change the software for me....Today I will go and pick up this CURSED phone. I THREW AWAY 500Euros, and I cant even communicate with my friends.

I got the phone yesterday and i will write a short review. 1: The design is really outstanding and very slim for a 5 MP monile phone, the tempered glass is really scratch proof (I have tried a lot of objects hitting on it and not even a scratch is seen). Also the carbon back is really unique. 2: The 5 MP camera is excelent, you can add a lot of extra effecst while shooting the photo or video. You can also manually or autmaticlly sharpen the photos. The red light is also cool. 3: Touch navigation (buttons) is really fast i didn't expect so fast on the menu and other things. The phone doesn't freeze or turn off or anything. 4: Touch media is a really great and also fast tool. If you want to have fun with the M-Toy games. You can also browse photos/documents/mp3's. You can zoom in or out on photos/documents while you are on touch modus. 5: Phone calling is really quality and loud when your talking (much better then other phones). The Mp3 player is also loud but not as SE or Nokia. 6: The battery is perfect till now i have been using it today whole day playing, calling etc.. and my battery is still full. 7: You have a lot of things in the phone like Movie maker (making your own videos with sound on background, special effects...) While your browsing on net you can use the Tab browsing functions wich is really handy. It supports also RSS feed reading. 8: Video functions is the best, you can record in fast and slow motion wich is really funny. The recoreded video will be saved in .avi format on your phone memory or external memory. 9: You can play DviX videos, mp3, mp4, rm, aac, mpeg-4, 4gp and much more... 10: The phone is really excellent and you wont get bored on it. If you want a great phone with a 5 MP camera and touch screen you should go for it.

I can't wait to get shot of it. Why? 1. Can't see the screen outside. It's a joke. 2. No signal in areas where should be loads. 3. The touchscreen is a gimmick and on this phone about as much use as a chocolate teapot. 4. Ringtone is quiet. I could go on, but already I am getting annoyed. I wish I had kept my N95. Sadly it broke, and on a whim I chose this as a replacement. Not a good idea in hindsight.

Other than that it was a great phone and I didn't think the battery life wasn't too bad - suppose it's how much you use it.

I have called orange today and another is being deliverd to me tomorrow evening to swap. Fingers crossed this one will be ok as i do love the phone. The battery life isn't bad if you turn off all the extra bits added as defaults (Keytone; which pisses me off anyway, Bright Backlight; unnecessary a la max). Oh and the reception is pretty damn good (no idea what the review's talking about) I'm on Orange by the way. PS- Ollie, unless your particular phone is messed up, the phone is probably locking itself and "switching off". My internet is actually remarkably fast!! I was pleasantly surprised. What more you can connect it to your laptop and surf the internet there. Did I mention, it's sexy as hell? Oh and check out a few Youtube videos; some guy sets the thing on fire and runs it over. The phone comes out with neither scratch nor burn xD All in all, I'm sure this phone'll give you a good number of years of excellence, if not 18 months xP Take Care!!

Also a little tip for people if you want to delete all the text messages in your inbox you have to select 'mark/unmark' then 'mark all' then 'delete all marked items' - this saves alot of messing about!!!

Got mine last week after much deliberation. It worked fantastically apart from the 'end call' button was a bit flimsy. Then after 3 days one of the blue touch buttons started to flicker and turn off when you press the end button and then disappeared. This did not amuse me after paying £35 for the phone. I took it back to Vodafone and was given another one with a much better end call button - but I quickly found that the slide mechanism didn't work so the keys wouldn't lock at all, the phone wouldn't light up when opened and I couldn't answer calls either that way! That was 2 brand new phones that were faulty so I didn't want another one (although they were willing to give me a new one) The phone itself is fantastic, nice touch screen option for us ones who prefer texting with the T9 but like a bit of technology. The wii technology games are great. Although the ring is a bit quiet, and the tones are a bit limited for someone who likes a simple ring. Scratch proof is great. Easy open back panel to get to the battery (unlike most phones) Video calling is good too. Unless you are unlucky to get a faulty one, then definitely get this phone. Im going to get the Samsung Tocco myself after my luck with the Secret.

My wife's had this phone for a couple weeks, got it free from Orange as an upgrade on 700mins and unlimited txts...for 25mnth! Just to keep her from going to T-Mobile...which she's glad she didn't, T-Mob are charging for voicemail now?! Thats just sooooo 90's! Anyway, to the phone, she is not a v savvy user but has got to grips with this phone v well (went from a Sony W800i), the camera is v good (but not better than Sony C902 in my opinion) and the touchscreen works v well. She is scared of going full touchscreen aka iphone, tocco, htc diamond etc and has found this has been a v good compromise. Call quality is a particular highlight, v clear with a 'make even clearer' option. Battery life, again, most phones don't last longer than a couple of days due to their power but if you have a charger at home and in-car, this shouldn't be a major issue really (nothing will ever beat my legendary Nokia 6210, 5 days stuck in Switzerland without a charger, no prob!) Overall, she is a happy user who has got used to the menu system v quickly, no reception problems as reported in other comments, maybe a s/w update has been issued since then. Can't believe people were moaning about not being able to turn off keypad tones?! Have you never used a phone before?!

I've returned it to my network within a week - no questions asked by them either which said it all as far as I was concerned. I would advise anyone considering this phone to give it a wide berth unless you are controlled by an urge to charge it every day and see your electricity meter spin round really quickly! Phone looks great but battery life is a real issue - packed in on me twice within first week despite being fully charged overnight both times. Went totally flat with very little use as well which was even more annoying! Touch screen functions were also a bit fiddly, kept connecting to the internet when trying to do other things and reactions were a bit slow. Not impressed at all. LG should stick to TVs and other stuff which are meant to be plugged in to work - doesn't really suit a mobile!

Before I bought my LG Secret KF750, I thought I had done my homework by looking on sites like this and reading reviews - I couldn't find anything bad about it, but that was obviously because it was a new phone. If only I knew then what I know now, I definitely wouldn't have picked this mobile. It looks very nice and stylish, but it only has to be in your pocket to lose signal and go onto the 'Emergency Calls Only' screen. The battery life is terrible and it can go from showing a high charge, to switching itself off without any warning at all. This is what I find the most frustrating, as it always happens when you are somewhere that you can't recharge it! There is also a disappointing lack of emoticons, not a major problem, but it's nice to have some animation. They aint on my secret thats for sure. I have read all of the comments and my secret does not suffer any. OK ... so the camera is a bit crap in low light and yes, it doesnt respond well to movement. But its a phone camera ... not a £450 digital SLR!!!! Hold it still outside in good light and the pics are great with amazing definition if you zoom in after the shot is saved. I have NO menu probs, NO booting up probs, NO sd card probs, NO battery probs, NO browsing probs, NO connection probs. The only thing that is vunerable is the carbon back which scratches when you just look at it!! Ok now I shouldn't really complain as I got this phone for free but it is awfully disappointing. I've owned Sony's for a long time now and have come to expect a level of functionality and usability which isn't there with this phone. It's a classic case of style over substance. I know there are many people who buy phones based purely on looks and if you're one of them...great - go and buy it. You'll love the fact it's carbon fibre...WOW. Anyway, here are the key problems with this handset 1)It turns itself off for no reason several times a day. Highly furstrating problem. Reminds me of the early days of Nokias I used to own a few years ago. It's not good enough. 2)Reception. When the phone is in my pocket, it doesn't get reception so people have been asking me why my phone is always off. Uh, I didn't think it was, oh it's not, it's just crap 3)Sensitivity of buttons. When having a conversation, if you put your face up to the screen (which is highly probably when using a phone) it seems to set off a whole load of the buttons which invariably scuppers the call you're on. 4)Battery life. Totally inadequate. One 30 min call seems to sap it of half of its juice. 5)Syncing. It's a really poor engine and really difficult to use. I've been syncing my Sonys with my PC for several years and it generally works fine. Outlook and the LG software don't get on at all. There is also a ridiculous limit to the amount of calender entries one can have on the phone i.e. 100. I've just put in a 2gb card thinking it would up the capacity. Not the case 6)Touch screen. Pointless on this device. Don't be sold on this basis as it's highly poor. Anyway. Those were my top points. I really wouldn't recommend spening any money on this device. Very poor all round

Basically since the weather is so hot at the moment in the summer and I am using my handset alot, I have found that after a while, for some reason (whether it is to do with the sweat on my touchpad or not), the touchpad keys up and down do not work unless I wait for a few hours and for some reason, after switching it on and off a few times they kick back in.. I don't know the real solution but this is the only solution I have come up with so far. What's puzzling is that the left and right touchpad keys work so I don't think it can be the sweat on the phone? And I am also taking this phone to a country that is even hotter than England in a few weeks and I am worried the touchpad will die on me. Is there anyone else with this problem? And if so, is there an official solution to this, or should I just get a new handset???? The camera is terrible also, for some reason it is too bright or too dark, no in-between and the colours are washed up! Is there any way to have some decent settings and also for the settings to save (not have to change my settings every time I take a new picture?) Thanks
