Reviewed by Nicola on 30/07/2007 Got the Prada mid-May and took me about 2 days to get used to it, then it was fine. The camera's great especially when showing pics cos you can do the whole screen effect. Some people seem to have problems texting or touch-dialing with network providers but the first is easily learned and the second you just press the speaker button and it works perfectly. I love the fact that I can't ring anyone accidentally without having to have a flip phone too! Filming isn't great but it's ok for me cos I don't really film on my phones, the camera's the main issue and that's all great. The only thing that sometimes annoys me is the crescendo ringing - if it could just be plain loud I'd pick up the phone in time when out! But there's always vibrate so no real crisis :) All in all a lovely phone, but if you're one of these my-phone-must-be-all-my-electronics-in-one type people then undoubtedly the memory might annoy you. More than plenty for me, but lacking for the person who for some reason wants a computer in their pocket yet won't buy a PDA... Rating:

Reviewed by Lee on 28/07/2007 Every handset has niggles that people dont get on with. Read other forums and you will find that every fone will have some issue a person is not happy with. In the end it falls down to the useability of the handset in your day to day life. This handset is one of the few that has something 'new' on the market. The Prada name is not a reason why I purchased this, the new exciting tech is. Lets see how the i phone does. Slightly better interface, specs, but is bigger. Does the touchscreen not react all the time - Yes. Does it seem to open up a feature when your pressing for something else- Yes. But its mainly down to user error. You have to adjust the way you use this type of interface. People are so used to 'press' buttons. The features on this handset will accomodate most people. Just think about the handsets you've had with all those features you read about, thought wow, and then hardly used them. My opinion is that this fone is not really for the teenagers as they are used to speed texting and get impatient when trying to use the lg prada in the same way, although other reviews confirm, practice really does make perfect. Read some of the reviews below and you will underdstand what i mean. Is it a 'girls' handset as some other people have stated ! I dont understand this. Its not femanine in anyway, its unisex as most fones are. It would be business suicide to simply cater for one half of the market. Battery life at 1st will be short'ish from all the initial setting up of the fone, tweaking it to your liking, and the newness of playing with it. Several charges later and it not being picked up every few mins, and you should find 2-3 days charge, which is normal for alot of handsets. My last handset was the Nokia8800, so im used to using two batteries and charging it everynight ! In summing up I would recomend this handset to all, as long as you prepared to embrace this technology with patience. Reviews from people who have had it 1-4 days, and are returning it have not done their homework, or checked out a demo model before purchasing. And in the end we all change our handsets through the year, some more than most {gulity as charged !}. I normally change every 4-5 months. Also note please do not use the supplied carrying case. It has a history of actually marking up the handset instead of doing its job of protecting it. Their is an accessory called a invisible shield that skins over the handset with a plastic that the u.s military used on their helicopter blades to protect them.Once its on it fully protects it, can be removed if wished and re applied. And you cannot see it once its on.The touchscreen loses no useability either, which obviously would defeat the purpose of the handset. If you google you should find one.Be careful about buying it on 'that famous auction site', as many stated as prada shields are not cut out right for this handset. Rating:

If you want to keep it snug in it's little case, cleaning it with the cloth provided every time you oull it out to show some FINE!! But if you are like me and just want to be able to shove it in your pocket when your not using it.... well the screen will look like 'S**t' within a few days. Aside from the tricky texting, poor memory and battery, this phone is like anything beautiful that loses its looks..... You begin to wonder what your doing with it!...... Still one of the coolest phone though! Rating:
Reviewed by Gwen Skillings on 20/07/2007 I've had the phone for about 3 weeks now and although I do like the phone I feel that you need plenty of time on your hands to use it. Reviewed by Emily on 19/07/2007 This phone is really good!!! I was warned before purchsing it from my network provider that the battery doesn't last long, which it does and that the option of a dialling pad when making a call is not possible - vital when making a call to a call centre. In fact, if you press the button below the volume control on the side of the phone (looks like a loudspeaker button) a dialling pad appears. I have no faults with this phone at all, it does take a little getting used to but after a day of perseverence I can not fault it!! My advice is to buy it!! Rating:

Reviewed by Will on 01/07/2007 This is by far the coolest phone I'v ever had! The OS is great and very slick, very easy to use. The phone even loads up a lot quicker than any phone I'v ever had. There might be a few problems with how LG have tried to cram things onto the screen, for instance when searching through numbers, but the review someone wrote down there saying there was a major problem with inputting new T9 words is wrong, you can use the "c" button on the phone to erase characters too. I'v only had the phone a couple of days n the battery seems fine, I'v had the phone off charge since 9.00 am on the first day and its still on three bars now. I havent made too many calls mind. The texting system takes a little getting used to, but I suppose thats just because its so different from a usual phone. The system is actually very responsive and can keep up with as fast as I can press the buttons. One very cool feature I'v found is that if you split the headphone adapter you can then use a headphone jack - stereo cable to play the music from your phone through your stereo. Only problems I have is that you cannot zoom in on the normal camera, only on the video, which is wierd but the pictures do come out quite nice full screen on a pc. I like the way that the phone functions as a removable storage device too, and its much quicker transferring files to the phone than my old nokia N73. Would have been nice if you could access the phone on your computer by Bluetooth mind. Overall I think its a really cool phone thats bound to turn heads. The touchscreen is almost perfect I find, the design is flawless and the applications are great. I imagine this phone would have sold with so much less just because its Prada. I got it free on upgrade too!! Rating:
Reviewed by Pradaluv on 01/07/2007 Great phone, so stylish and easy to use - it is the envy of everyone. The camera is also amazing Rating:
Reviewed by Astar on 30/06/2007 This phone is amazing and everyone comments on it. It actually has some advantages over the iphone such as a flash, Schneider kreuznach (like kodak cameras) lens and looks of course! The camera is amazing and better than most other 2mp cameras due to the quality of the lens. Sadly the zoom is only for the video - this is rather strange! The user interface is really intuitive and the touch screen just the right degree of responsiveness! It is actually quite easy to text on after a few practices, and fun to use. The sound quality is great and the ringtones can have a high volume good for busy places although the ringtones provided are slightly strange. MP3 files can be used as ringtones and are easy enough to transfer-just copy into the mp3 folder in the sounds folder on the memory card. The computer software is rather complex but works if the phone is set to Data service (settings, connectivity, usb) The phone has pretty standard features for a modern mobile and I would say the price is mainly due to design (by the way pay as you go is only £279 in phones4u) The battery life is average, I have had to charge every day so far (only my third day) but only because I never put it down! The battery meter does jump around a bit when on low battery but hopefully the battery will settle down after a few charges (and this is a sign of an accurate battery meter) Ignore the bad reviews comparing to iphones this phone is amazing for looks, fun and features and its surprisingly easy to use. Excellent Rating:

I got the phone tuesday, and taking and making a reasonable amount of calls and texts, it was Friday eve before the battery warning started,so i let my son play games on it and 1 hour & 12 mins later it decided enough was enough. The phone itself is a doddle to use (simplicity itself) i, touch wood have had no issues with it at all.I personnally believe more manufacturers will be releasing touch screen phones to try and keep up to the Prada standard. Now the downside, the case!! why design a case for a phone of this quality and leave the camera lens exposed at the back?? it really needs protecting dose'nt it? Ok put the phone in the other way round and then the three buttons on the bottom are exposed, somebody goofed. I can't count the number of people that have looked at it wondering how the keypad pulls out! The battery life isnt great and the limited choice of text ringtones is annoying but i can live with it. Also the media player isnt all that good as you can either listen to music in alphabetical order or on shuffle, theres no other option like making a playlist or anything. Nonetheless, its a great stylish phone with a very good touchscreen interface that i love. would definately recommend. in response to craig: I think the "sim card" is in fact representing a memory card as on mine it appeared when i selected save photos etc to memory card. Also the "no more texts on SIM" occurs when you have over 20 texts saved to the SIM card. The phone automatically saves messages to the SIM card when it reaches 300 txts, all you need to do to get rid of it is delete some of the text messages in your in/outbox with a SIM card next to it. I havnt yet found a way to transfer messages from the sim card to the phone. overall i love this phone and would definately recommend Rating:

Reviewed by Withakay on 13/06/2007 This phone is all style over content. It looks and feels pretty nice in the hand, but a bit cheap compared to say a SE W880i. It's offers no compelling use for the big touch screen and it just make navigating the phone hard work. I guess you could say it makes using the camera nicer, but I found the controls fiddly. It does not have 3G, which might have been its saving grace, making use of the big screen to view the web. Although the OS looks lovely (think Apple rip off) the are some glaring mistakes. For example, start to compose a text message using the t9 predictive text mode. Now add a new word to the dictionary, you make a mistake (which happens quite often unless you have pin fingers), now try to delete the last character you entered - you can't! You have to cancel and start again! Or hows about telephone banking, when the automated system asks you for character x and y from your password? Well LG does not show the alphabetic characters on the numeric "keys" w hen you are on a call so you have to remember the positions (or keep a phone with a normal keypad handy for reference)! Verdict: A phone for poseurs. If you want sleek and small get a W880i (or possibly a Nokia 8600) if you want a phone with a nice big screen and a class beating camera get an Nokia N95. If you must have a touch screen, wait for the Apple iPhone Rating:

Reviewed by Sheils on 11/06/2007 Having mostly had Sony Ericcson phones, I thought it was time for a change and the Prada was it. A slick looking 'girls' phone which I had for 3 weeks; gave it a try, then gave it back!! It looks beautiful but sadly doesn't have a patch on the competition for its functions. Firstly, seeing the screen in the daylight is a job in itself - very frustrating having to text under a tree! Also, any automated system i.e. telephone banking, booking trains etc is impossible as there is no keypad to select your choices (big no no for me - however, I just read something earlier that suggests it is possible, ah well). What else, oh yes, the camera quality is embarrasing for 2.0 mega pix - I don't understand, is it me? Also, when using the camera, the touchscreen becomes very unresponsive when trying to scroll through the gallery. I've ended up tapping it REALLY HARD to get it to move. You don't get many pictures either. The FM radio doesn't allow you to actually mark sel ected stations by their name, it just marks them by a number - what's all that about in this day and age? Contacts are listed individually i.e. Fred Bloggs/H, Fred Bloggs/M that's so dark ages! Also, I found that contact information was filed differently and had to go in and change everything manually. Snor! Forever cleaning it - however the leather case does make the phone look slick. Freezing when receiving pictures, and turning itself off mid flow in conversation. oh please. Not very loud ringtones either, I slept though the alarm a couple of times. No charm in the box but who cares? I want a phone that works as well as looking good! It's a shame, I pestered my provider to give me this phone by free upgrade (which they did) and sadly I had to return it with my tail between my legs. I'll have another try when my 18 month contract is up and my Sony Ericsson K810i (which is fab by the way) has done its time. If Prada worked in conjunction with say, Ericsson rather t han LG then it would definately be a sucess story. Miss you Prada x Rating:

Reviewed by Cpt Buggernuts on 08/06/2007 Had my phone a few days now and i love it. I know there are some pretty mixed reviews on this phone and the majority of people like or love the phone, but i really think the people who hate the phone should just chill out and get a phone they do like!!! No one is forcing you to have it, you have a choice, if you don't like it fine... it's not for you, the world will not end because a battery bar indicates 3 and not 2 OH NO HOW WILL I EVER GET OVER SUCH A TRAVESTY??? Anyway i have a question for any sane people out there, I do like my phone and was wondering how is the best way to transfer music on to the phone, i've tried bluetooth and after one song it says there is no more memory even after i placed a new 1gb card in HELP!!!! Thanks. Rating:
Reviewed by Ravinder on 08/06/2007 I have been searching for a phone, for a while now. however, I liked the look of the stylish Prada phone, whilst wanting a phone with a radio. I had heard about the difficulty of using the phone. So went with a Orange contract to give me 7 day return policy, if i did not like the phone. but...I have to say, I have never fallen in love with a phone soo much!! It does everythingi require and i find it easy to use then my previous Sony erricsson!! Text message has never beenn easier..I cant believe that there is such an advance touch screen phone out there that does everything i want it to & more!!! Rating:

Reviewed by Marian on 06/06/2007 I've had my LG Prada phone for about 3 weeks now, and I love it. I find it easy to use, and the battery lasts about 4 days, whcih is better than I expected for something so small and light. The only problem I have is that I can't find the zoom option for the camera. THe instruction book says if you tap the screen while in camera mode, it will appear on the right hand side of the screen, but it doesn't. I get the contrast on the left but no zoom- does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Rating:
Reviewed by adz on 05/06/2007 i am now on my third Prada phone in less than a month. I believe there is a problem with the screen as they crack from the inside. My first one broke when I had it in the pocket of my jeans and the second one broke when I had it in the pocket of my jacket. They are not practical and break far too easily. I haven't banged or dropped either phone - they are far too delicate for everyday use in my opinion. I have never broken a mobile phone before and have managed to break both prada phones in under a month. The touch screen is also dificult to use for texting and I text far less often as I can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to text with the touch screen. Phone looks great - but is useless! i smast it up after 6 months thy give me a new phone Rating:
Reviewed by Underdog on 05/06/2007 Prada is not so suitable for men. I think the designers didn't take into consideration that men have big hands and fingers and therefore we might not be able to use this gadget efficiently. It's a good phone but look out, trouble will come later when the on-screen keys decide not to work. As someone who has had this phone for 2 months now I can simply say, it's stylish, the camera is good for a 2mp, never mind the battery life, the amount of things you can do, the battery won't be able to last forever without recharging. In conclusion, all I have to say is give it a try and see if it's right for you. Rating:

Reviewed by Melanie on 04/06/2007 I have had the prada phone for over a month now, and love it. It is everything I expected of it, texting is soooo easy to do I don't know why people are saying that it is hard, in fact it is the easiest phone I have ever used. The ring tones aren't great, but you can just download ringtones onto it. It is not advertised as a 3G phone or a smart phone, so why are people expecting it to be one!!!! The games on it are brilliant, so different from the usual games which come free with the phones and above all it is the most stylish phone on the market!!! It does have some flaws, like the battery life, but as for the memory which people complain about, use the memeory card which comes with it!!! Overall a great phone. Rating:

Reviewed by j on 03/06/2007 why do people come on here and only write 'it's rubbish! don't buy it' you're supposed to give a reason for people not to buy it. Also, if you want people to take you seriously, you should probably learn how to use simple English grammar and spelling. I've had this phone since yesterday, and so far I have had no problems. It looks great, it's really light to hold and the touch screen takes no time at all to get used to. It's personal opinion, but I can honestly say that this is probably the best phone I have ever had. Oh, and one other thing - I don't own anything that is designer except this phone, so less of this 'with your fake prada bag' malarky, yeh? Rating:
Reviewed by Paul on 03/06/2007 This phone reminds me of the LG chocolate in looks and even in funtionality. It's not very robust so don't expect to sling it arround or sit on it when you forget to take it out of your back pocket. The touch screen is a little anoying also is the fact that you feel you need to keep cleaning it. I have to admit, i only realy bought for its style and some individuality hence i'm not concerned with the functions. It looks good, feels good... not everyone has one (YET) and it works okay. I'll give it a few months before i pass it on or it ends up in my mobile phone grave yard! Rating:
